This study examines data from a survey conducted at a U.S. public research university, focusing on students' behaviors and attitudes toward the library, both physical and online. The analysis categorizes student users and nonusers based on demographics such as full-time enrollment, first-generation status, college, and grade point average (GPA). Results indicate that first-generation students were most likely to never use the online library. Low GPA respondents visited the physical library most frequently, whereas high GPA students were more inclined to use e-resources. This paper reports on a study on delinquent acts in three academic libraries in northern Ghana. A survey method was used for the study and a questionnaire was used to collect data. The study population consisted of staff in the Reader Service Sections of the three libraries. The study found that failure to observe library regulations, keeping overdue materials, eating in the library, littering, reserving seats unjustifiably, and hiding of books for the purpose of monopoly are examples of delinquent acts practiced by library users. According to the participants, the main reasons for delinquent acts are inadequate orientation to users, insufficient copies of books, and indiscipline among library users. The respondents further reported that these actions led to a reduction in library resources and low patronage. To curb deviant behaviors in libraries, the study recommends the adoption of pragmatic approaches including massive orientation for users, imbibing positive library culture that fosters respect, bolstering commitment and cooperation among library users and the staff, increasing library budgets as well as finding more creative ways of acquiring more copies of books, such as using Open Educational Resources (OERs), belonging to consortia and building and/or enhancing existing Institutional Repositories (IR). This article presents a 2-year study on how quickly Texas library staff members greeted a library patron after eye contact. Results from 140 library visits found a mean of nearly 4 min, but a mean of 9 s after removing outliers. The study also calculated the perceived customer value by measuring the service, quality, image, and price of the customer service experience. Findings suggest that each patron/staff interaction may alter a patron's perceived Return on Investment (ROI). Given libraries are primarily supported by tax dollars, poor patron service experiences may impact the perceived values of library programs and services, jeopardizing future funding. To investigate whether and how library information support affects the community correction effect, a total of 504 community correction clients in Anhui Province, China, were investigated via questionnaire. The results show that information support moderated the second half of the relationship between stress-mediated social exclusion and the correction effect, and high information support diminished the influence of stress on the correction effect; and it also moderated the second half of the relationship between social exclusion and the correction effect mediated by self-efficacy, and high information support weakened the influence of self-efficacy on the correction effect. Emotional support moderated the second half of the relationship between social exclusion and the correction effect mediated by stress. This study provides a new perspective on library services for disadvantaged groups and verifies the moderating role of information support on the influence of stress and self-efficacy on the correction effect. The application of the ‘stressor-strain-outcome (SSO)’ model is expanded, and the model that affects the correction effect is verified. In practice, library information support is conducive to improving the cultural literacy of correction clients and enhancing their social competitiveness, expanding the library user community, enhancing the correction effect, and maintaining social security and stability. This article provides entrepreneurs with information about library services and investigates the function of an Enhanced Business Value Calculator in identifying patrons who may be interested in participating in co-creation-driven experimental technology adoptions in libraries. By identifying the most productive users, the librarian could invite them to participate in the co-creation process, which results in more collaborative and knowledge-based technology experimentations. Patrons (high-performing users and their peers) actively participate in the design, execution, and post-experimentation phases of the experimentation process continuously through co-creation. Ongoing participation increases patron engagement, transforming patrons into library evangelists who support cooperative trials that result in novel services. The article culminates in a case study that shows how the public libraries in collaboration with the university library strategically experimented with ChatGPT to see if it might be used for its systematic literature review services for the entrepreneurs. This study investigated the role of public libraries in enhancing adult education in Tanzania with particular reference to TLSB. Specifically, the study looked at the information services offered to adult learners, the availability of special areas for adult learners, the skills possessed by library staff serving adult learners, the challenges faced by library staff offering services to Adult Learners, and measures for improving Library Services for Adult learners. The study adopted a case design whereby Tanzania Library Board Services was used as a case. The study population included all TLSB stakeholders, including library users, staff, and the TLSB director. The sample size of this study comprised of 36 library staff. Respondents were purposively selected for inclusion in this study. Questionnaires were the data collection method employed to gather data from library staff and were analyzed descriptively, and results were presented in Tables, Figures and Charts. Information services offered to adult learners were identified, and thus, TLSB has a special area for adult learners was also revealed. The study also established that TLSB has staff with specialized skills serving adult learners. Challenges faced by library staff offering services to adult learners and the measures for improving library services for adult learners were also revealed in this study. The study concludes that providing library services has to go with the availability of other factors, such as adequate materials, reading space, and staff with the skills to assist adult learners. Purpose: This exploratory study illustrated an integrated academic library supply chain (IALSC) model to design the strategic planning management tool of the academic library. The supply chain (SC) model has been widely used in manufacturing industries and has also been applied in many service industries with the same objectives. However, very few studies for academic libraries, particularly the implementation of the integrated SC model, are being executed, although it has been proven that SC management in practice can enhance stakeholder satisfaction, increase revenues and decrease total costs. The academic library also needs to be successful in providing quality products, services and information to fulfil the library users' needs within the library budget. This research aims to develop a verified model of the integrated SC for the academic library. Design/methodology/approach: This research used both qualitative and quantitative approaches to achieve its objectives. The proposed conceptual SC model, named as IALSC, for the academic library has been developed using the system thinking method; eventually, it has been validated through the fuzzy Delphi method, an expert judgement technique. Findings: The research findings could contribute to academic library management in planning and formulating a roadmap for the library to increase its quality services for all stakeholders. In the aftermath of a catastrophic fire in the Jagger Library, home to Special Collections at the University of Cape Town, recovery efforts are ongoing. Although library services have resumed, they are currently limited to the materials that remain accessible. The Reading Room, previously a central component of library services at Jagger Library, has been lost, necessitating the exploration of alternative methods to ensure efficient service provision. This study aims to analyse the metaphors used in user comments about the concept of 'library' in digital participatory dictionaries. The research aims to understand the social perception of libraries and their role in the digital age. The study analysed user comments in Ekşi Dictionary (397 comments) and Uludağ Dictionary (186 comments) using qualitative research method and content analysis technique. The data were analysed within the framework of conceptual metaphor theory and coded using MAXQDA software. As a result of the analysis, the metaphors were grouped under five main themes: metaphors that likened the library to a physical space, a spiritual and mental space, a centre of knowledge and culture, a place of peace and tranquillity, and metaphors that saw it as functionally inadequate. The findings showed that libraries are perceived as not only a source of information but also as institutions of critical importance for social, cultural and individual development. Users' expectations of libraries are multifaceted, and they see these institutions as places of peace, providing opportunities for personal development, reducing social inequalities, and preserving cultural heritage. This study sheds light on reassessing the public perception of libraries and their role in the digital age. The findings provide a new perspective on the place and importance of libraries in contemporary society and offer important insights for shaping future strategies. However, some users found libraries functionally inadequate, indicating that these organisations face challenges in adapting to the needs of the times. With academic libraries becoming increasingly involved in copyright issues, the ability to responsibly identify a copyright-protected material is becoming important in the administration of reprographic materials in academic libraries. A mixed methods approach was employed to evaluate the adequacy of copyright information or documentation, the need for training, and the mechanisms for educating library users on responsible use of reprographic materials that ensures a balance of stakeholder rights. Quantitative data was collected from 38 library staff and 530 postgraduate students, while qualitative data was collected from four head librarians (through one-on-one interview sessions), and two groups of six postgraduate students each from two public and two private universities in Ghana (through focus group discussion sessions). Only 21.4 % stated that copyright information or documentation on copyright policies on their university campuses was adequate. Copyright education for both staff and students was generally low in all the four institutions. Only "classroom training" had significant impact on users' understanding of copyright laws and policies. "Professional associations," "study visits," and "consultant training" had little impact on the understanding of students about copyright laws despite most library staff being either "comfortable" or "very comfortable" with their level of knowledge on copyright issues. There is therefore the need to incorporate copyright issues in the school curriculum for students as well as institute CPD programs for professional librarians if academic librarians are to efficiently and adequately play their roles as agents of copyright education to the university community. Public libraries play a unique role in preserving, maintaining, and distributing cultural capital freely. Currently, public libraries are said to be undergoing a change: from public spheres offering culture selected and curated by legitimated experts, libraries are seen to have shifted more towards social hubs. However, little is known about how potential library users perceive these alleged changes. In this article, we explore which topics emerge in online conversations about Oodi, Helsinki's new central library, and what kinds of symbolic boundaries are drawn in them. Our data consist of tweets and comments on newspaper articles (N = 2,342). Using structural topic modelling and a qualitative thematic analysis, we identify eight different topics that appear to be highly polarised. We interpret the online conversations on Oodi as negotiations of the ownership of publicly funded culture and cultural capital. These negotiations are organised around two opposing poles: tolerant, cosmopolitan views versus traditional, conservative attitudes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper reports on a study of 58 urban teen public library users that sought to understand teens' recreational reading behavior in the context of their digital experiences, among other influences. The study's primary research questions were (1) What strategies do teen public library users employ to select recreational books? and (2) What external and internal factors influence their choices? Participants were surveyed on the strategies they used to select recreational reading material. They reported physically browsing for books and gathering recommendations from social media and websites as well as getting recommendations from people. However, survey respondents did not use social media to make recreational reading choices as often as expected. Another surprising finding was that educational motivations for recreational reading were slightly stronger than social/emotional motivations. Although this study was too small in scope to generalize to all teens, it confirms findings from previous studies that teens continue to engage in recreational reading for a variety of reasons, get reading recommendations from adults and peers, and are sometimes influenced in their reading choices by their digital lives. Purpose: Responding to the continuing separation of participants and researchers in LIS participatory research, a new methodology is proposed: action partnership research design (APRD). It is asserted that APRD can mitigate or remove the hierarchical structures often inherent in the research process, thus allowing for equal contribution from all. Design/methodology/approach: Building on the bonded design (BD) methodology and informed by a scoping literature review conducted by the same authors, APRD is a human-centered research approach with the goal of empowering and valuing community partnerships. APRD originates from research investigating the use of participatory design methods to foster collaboration between two potentially disparate groups, firstly with adult researchers/designers and elementary school children, and secondly with university faculty and IT professionals. Findings: To achieve this goal, in addition to BD techniques, APRD draws inspiration from elements of indigenous and decolonization research methodologies, particularly those with an emphasis on destabilizing power hierarchies and involving research participants as full partners. Originality/value: APRD, which emerged from findings from previous participatory design studies, especially those of BD, is based on the premise of partnership, recognizing that each member of a design team, whether researcher or participant/user, has unique expertise to contribute. By considering participants/users as full research partners, APRD aims to flatten the hierarchies exhibited in some LIS participatory research methodologies, where participants are treated more like research subjects than partners. This study investigates caregivers' perceptions of the benefits of library visits in relation to preschool children's learning and development. Reasons and benefits for attending libraries and storytimes, which were reported in previous research, are synthesized. Caregivers in Taiwan who visited public libraries in August 2019 (before COVID-19) with their newborn to 8-year-old children were asked one open-ended question in the context of a library user satisfaction survey. In total, 405 responses were gathered and analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Three main benefits were identified related to education, socialization, and enjoyment, in line with prior studies; however, participants expressed their reasons with depth and clarity. Makerspaces are now a common feature in many public libraries in the United States. However, there has been little research into how these spaces function for adults with disabilities. In this study, qualitative data were collected from patrons with disabilities and public librarians through online focus groups, interviews, and an online survey to address this gap in knowledge. Findings speak to the needs of a significant subset of public library patrons, describe current practices in public library makerspaces, and suggest areas for implementing more inclusive practices. Few previous studies have addressed online access to multilingual collections of public libraries that serve multilingual communities. With the rise in numbers of people experiencing homelessness in our cities, towns and regions, public libraries are seeing an increase in visits from members of this community. Public library staff are increasingly required to assist and work with people experiencing homelessness, often with little training and without the guidance of policy documents to advise them. This article reports on a survey of Australian public library staff who were asked about their experiences in, and attitudes toward working with this community. The article finds public library staff are frequently working with people experiencing homelessness. Although library staff largely believe working with this community is part of their role, they also report feeling unsafe at work, and a belief that the presence of people experiencing homelessness in libraries can be detrimental to other library users. The paper investigated the current application of robots in public libraries with specific consideration of its future opportunities. Three (3) objectives guided the conduct of the study. The study employed a qualitative research approach. The population for the study comprised librarians who have been certified by the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) and worked at public library boards. Thematic analysis and content analysis techniques were adopted for this study. The study found that robots bring various advantages, including increased operational efficiency and streamlined access to information, as well as interactive educational opportunities and heightened user involvement. The findings indicate that embracing robotic technology enables public libraries to establish more accessible, dynamic, and user-focused environments, fostering an atmosphere of innovation and technological progress within the realm of information services. It could be concluded that the integration of robots in public libraries plays a vital role in modernizing and improving library services to meet the evolving demands of library users and communities. However, library stakeholders must address potential obstacles, including financial limitations, technological preparedness, and user acceptance. Prioritizing the training of staff, fostering community involvement, and establishing clear policy frameworks enables public libraries to effectively navigate the challenges related to incorporating robotics, ensuring a smooth transition toward a technologically advanced and user-focused library environment. In libraries, perceptions of high services quality to their target clients are typically able to draw out high level of satisfaction and engagement. Using the descriptive-regression research design, the study was conducted to determine the influence of service quality of public libraries on library user's engagement. It was performed using a survey questionnaire that was tested using Cronbach Alpha and Content Validity. Data were collected from 175 randomly selected respondents who are frequent professional library users in public libraries in Region XII, consisting of graduate students, businessmen and women, retired personnel, and those users who have pursued their law, master's, or doctor's degrees. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression analysis. Results from the quantitative analysis revealed that service quality of public libraries can significantly influence library user's engagement. Thus, it can be claimed that one effective way of enticing more individuals to use public libraries is to improve the level of service quality of public libraries. Based on the findings, it is strongly recommended that public library administrators provide public librarians with comprehensive and continuous professional development opportunities, including seminars, trainings, enrolling in library professional courses, and benchmarking effective strategies that build the confidence and competence of public librarians to improve the quality of services offered to library patrons. Library spaces play a crucial role in fostering user engagement, particularly for students in academic settings by creating welcoming environment that blend inspiring spaces with engaging resources and programming, academic libraries can make significant contributions to overall student engagement. This study employed descriptive regression research design to determine the influence of library space design on student engagement. A total number of 100 students from selected schools in Regions XI and XII were the respondents of the study using convenience sampling technique. Mean and simple linear regression analysis were employed to analyze the data. The findings showed that student's level of perception towards library space design was very high while level of user engagement was found to be high. Among the indicators of library space design, aesthetics and atmosphere got the highest mean ratings while on the aspect of user engagement, library visits yielded the highest mean rating. Moreover, the results showed that student's perception on the library space design influence user engagement. Base on the findings it is recommended that the school administrators should prioritize allocating adequate resources for continuous library space renovation, conduct comprehensive assessments to library personnel and users, and streamlining access to library resources to meet expectations of students who are comfortable with technology. Academic law libraries are obligated to protect library patron privacy in accordance with professional standards, such as the AALL Ethical Principles, as well as all applicable laws. Because controlled digital lending enables patrons geographically distant from the law library to access library resources, the privacy laws of many jurisdictions can apply. Two laws requiring special consideration are FERPA and the GDPR, and noncompliance with them carries both financial and reputational risk for a law school. Academic law libraries that implement controlled digital lending can mitigate associated privacy risks by incorporating privacy compliance into the design phase of the initiative. The design team should include members with both legal and technical privacy expertise to ensure the program complies with all applicable state, federal, and foreign privacy laws and is designed with privacy in mind, employing data minimization and process automation to reduce operational privacy risk. Inclusiveness and honoring different cultures that reflect our patrons has been discussed in many different venues in the last few years. The staff of the Brigham Young University Library recognized the need for our metadata to demonstrate the commitment we have to honor others and to create a community of belonging. The staff also recognized that a policy would provide a roadmap for how to embark on fixing legacy metadata and how to move forward in creating metadata that reflects our core values in the library and at the university. This case study details how we developed an inclusive metadata policy and its accompanying documentation. We provide examples of how the policy is being implemented and the steps we have taken to help library staff understand cultural humility and how it can be applied in their work. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the perceived usefulness and satisfaction levels of undergraduate students with respect to university library portal services, specifically within selected universities in South-West Nigeria. Design/methodology/approach: A descriptive survey research design was used to investigate the perceived usefulness and satisfaction levels among undergraduate students regarding university library portal services. Data were collected through surveys administered to 658 undergraduate respondents across multiple universities in South-West Nigeria. Findings: The findings indicate that undergraduate students' top reasons for using the portal were for tasks such as locating research materials, accessing databases, requesting bibliographies and checking the library catalog. Library computers and school information and communication technology center computers were identified as the most preferred access point, followed by computer labs and campus Wi-Fi networks. Undergraduates rated the portals as highly useful, particularly for saving time locating resources, checking material status and patronizing the library. High satisfaction was reported for services such as attending workshops, events and receiving research support through the portals workshops. Moderate satisfaction levels existed for accessing policies/hours, the institutional repository and renewals of books online. A strong positive correlation (r = 0.785, p < 0.05) was found between perceived usefulness and satisfaction. Originality/value: This study contributes to the understanding of undergraduate students' perceptions regarding the utility and satisfaction of university library portal services in the context of South-West Nigeria. It underscores the importance of aligning portal services with students' academic and research needs to enhance overall satisfaction levels. The MINTspace, opened in 2024, is a new place for experimentation and learning at the central library of Kiel university. Equipment includes 3D printers, microscopes, AR glasses, a soldering unit and other experimental essentials to offer a variety of access paths to technical knowledge for all library users. Tailored to the needs of students of STEM subjects, it is also open to target groups beyond these disciplines. The MINTspace has become one of the core elements of the overall concept at the heart of an ongoing general remodelling of the central library to be completed by 2025. Purpose: This study aims to explore information-seeking anxiety (ISA) among undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students at Dr Babasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, located in Dapoli, Distt. Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. The research focuses on evaluating the intensity of ISA, understanding its underlying causes and identifying potential strategies to reduce its effects, particularly within the context of an agricultural university. Design/methodology/approach: This research intends to examine Information seeking anxiety (ISA) among undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students at Dr Babasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth located in Dapoli District, Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. This research intends to examine and investigate the intensity of ISA among students at an agriculture university, its root causes and possible methods to reduce its effects. The research adopts quantitative surveys with qualitative secondary sources to achieve a comprehensive understanding of ISA among students. A standardized scale was used as the primary data collection tool to assess participants' levels of ISA. A total of 122 students participated in the study, completing the survey and providing valuable data for analysis. Findings: The findings reveal a range of ISA levels among students, indicating the presence of varied information skills and abilities. This underscores the need for well-structured information literacy programs tailored to address these disparities. A significant gender-based difference in ISA was observed, with female students exhibiting lower anxiety levels in relation to "integrated elements 3" at a significance level of.05 (t = 1.327). Interestingly, the study found that the students' rural or urban backgrounds did not significantly impact their ISA levels. Additionally, various integrated elements within the information seeking anxiety scale were found to be interconnected, contributing to the overall anxiety experienced by students. Research limitations/implications: The study highlights the importance of designing and implementing targeted interventions to address ISA in academic settings. These findings suggest that tailored information literacy programs could be effective in reducing ISA among students. Future research could build on these results by examining ISA across different disciplines and institutions, thereby contributing to the development of broader, more generalized strategies for mitigating ISA in diverse educational contexts. Individuals may not accurately recall or report their anxiety levels, potentially affecting the study's findings. This study's findings may not be generalizable to all agriculture university users due to factors such as the specific university setting, student demographics and agricultural disciplines represented. Practical implications: This study provides actionable insights for academic institutions, particularly agricultural universities, in developing targeted information literacy programs. These programs can be designed to address varying levels of ISA among students, enhancing their ability to effectively seek and use information. Additionally, understanding the gender differences in ISA can guide the creation of more inclusive resources and support systems, ultimately improving the overall academic experience and reducing anxiety-related barriers to learning. Social implications: The research highlights the broader societal impact of ISA, particularly how it can affect students' academic success and overall well-being. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to review an existing graphic novel collection in the curriculum materials center of an academic library. The review would result in a clear identity for the collection and guide the creation of revised collection development, management and cataloging processes. Design/methodology/approach: The physical and bibliographic identities of each individual graphic novel were reviewed and compared with collection development tools. Findings: The review revealed a mismatch between the physical and bibliographic markers applied to some graphic novels and inconsistencies in the assignment of items based on audience and literature type. At the completion of the project, 43% of the graphic novels were reassigned based on audience, literature type or both. Originality/value: There is limited research about the collection challenges and needs of graphic novels in juvenile and curriculum materials collections within academic libraries. Objective – The accessibility of non-traditional resources presents ongoing challenges for users and librarians. This study investigates methods for optimizing metadata and the placement of search results to enhance the discoverability of these resources within library systems. Researchers conducted A/B testing to compare two features of Ex Libris Primo: the Resource Recommender and Discovery Import Profiles. The objective was to enhance user access to a broader range of informational assets beyond conventional collections. This study posed the research question: Is inclusion in the results list (Discovery Import Profiles) or are visually appealing advertisement-style cards above results (Resource Recommender) a more effective method for discovery of non-traditional library resources? Methods – Researchers identified four key resource types for testing: librarians, frequently asked questions (FAQs), databases, and research guides. An A/B test was conducted with each resource presented in the Discovery Import Profiles and Resource Recommender formats. Following the A/B test, a combined C test was conducted to validate findings. Results – The ad-style cards achieved higher engagement rates, particularly for databases and FAQs, while research guides performed better when embedded directly in search results. This study highlights the strengths and limitations of each method. Databases and FAQs benefited from the visual prominence of the ad-style cards, while research guides were more discoverable within search results. However, minimal engagement with librarians as a resource type across both methods suggests the need for improved tagging and metadata strategies. Conclusion – Findings underscore the importance of institution-specific research and localized assessments to ensure effective implementation of discovery strategies. As public libraries are called upon to support increasing numbers of users experiencing homelessness and other outcomes of poverty and disadvantage, they are looking to external service providers with whom to partner to share in the provision of this support. Using a model of Collaborative Governance, the results of a survey of public library staff are used to explore these partnerships, along with service provisions provided to vulnerable library users. The survey found that public libraries are providing access to library services, spaces and resources, along with links to external service providers, and are acting as distribution points for donated items. As local government entities, public libraries are undertaking collaborative governance activities by forming partnerships with community-led non-profit organisations, large-scale non-profit and charitable organisations, and government service providers. Librarians need to learn these skills in order to help others learn from them. The aim of this article is to determine the essential features of information literacy; what role it should play in university library user education and how programmes can be best implemented. This study is particularly significant since it will provide statistics on the information literacy skills required by Indian library information science professionals. Its importance for student information literacy skills are measured in this article. This paper compares website usability—specifically library users’ understanding of library terms—for fifty-one original research studies between 2012-2021, with the findings of John Kupersmith’s 2011 white paper “Library Terms That Users Understand.” Studies reported approximately twice as many terms that users didn’t understand than terms users did understand, with some terms appearing in both categories. Analysis of the findings suggests a majority of Kupersmith’s guidelines remain applicable to today’s online environment, with some adjustments related to technology advances. The purpose of this study is to explore the realization of users ‘ information rights (IRs) in the smart service of university libraries. Based on the LibQUAL model, principal component analysis (PCA) is used to measure the quality of smart services in university libraries. The contribution weight of various services to the realization of IRs is calculated by analytic hierarchy process (AHP), then the degree of IR realization is obtained. Users have the highest right to express information, the lowest right to equality, and other rights tend to be moderate. Suggestions to improve the realization of IRs are put forward at the end. Force feedback is currently missing in most surgical robot systems, even though it would be essential for many surgical tasks, such as palpating tissue. In this study, we used a previously developed robotic endoscope based on series elastic actuation and tested the feasibility of using it for force feedback with a pilot study. The participants had a lower test time (−27%) and lower applied forces (−23%) with force feedback enabled. Purpose: The purpose of this survey research was to investigate the use of virtual social networks by librarians and users of public libraries located in Iran. Method: The current research is applied in terms of its purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of its type and methodology. The statistical population of this research are librarians and users of social networks (Instagram and Bale platforms) used in public libraries. According to the statistics of the managers of the Instagram page and Bale page, 80% of the users of these pages are librarians of public libraries across the country, and 20% of them are regular or usual users. Therefore, out of 5000 people following these pages in June 2022, nearly 4000 people were librarians and the rest were normal users. Based on Morgan's table, the number of research samples was estimated to be 357, which were selected according to the population of each group. According to the overall response rate, which was about 80.15%, finally 204 samples from the librarian community and 81 samples from the user community were selected using convenience sampling method. Findings: The findings of the research showed that there is a significantly positive relationship between the information format (how to display information) and the level of interaction of users and librarians (liking, commenting, etc.). In terms of the level of interaction of librarians and users with social network pages, it was found that librarians have more communication and interaction with the studied platforms than users due to the employment relationship and the need to produce content on these pages as part of librarians assigned tasks and duties. Also, according to librarians, the use of relevant information available on social media pages is effective in their organizational performance. Also, considering that foreign platforms such as Instagram sometimes face some legal restrictions in the country, it is suggested that domestic platforms increase the tendency of users by upgrading their services from a technical point of view in order to use them. Based on this, the most important result of the current research is that public libraries started to operate in social networks and this action is currently at the level of an organizational task and they still could not attract users and interact properly with them in these social networks. Therefore, it is necessary for Iran's public libraries to take action and plan for more interaction with users in these networks. This study aimed to examine the role of Tanzania Library Services Board (TLSB) in organizing, teaching and facilitating information literacy to users in the public library. Specifically the study examined the available facilities and resources available in public libraries that would facilitate the teaching of information literacy; established what users were taught during information literacy courses and identified barriers in implementing information literacy courses in public libraries. It also sought to gather views from the users on the roles of TLSB in organizing, teaching and facilitating information literacy courses in public libraries. The study was carried out in 7 regional libraries working under the administration of the National Central library in Dar es salaam. Data was collected through questionnaires, which were conveniently distributed among 58 library users who were found in the reading areas and other service points in the selected libraries. Face to face semi-structured interviews were carried out among purposely selected 11 librarians who were providing services at different points in the libraries. Results of the study indicated that TLSB was involved in organizing and teaching information literacy courses to users who visited the library either in groups or as individuals. Users were taught how to search for electronic resources, utilizing special collections, borrowing and returning library books and using the library OPAC. Challenges facing TLSB in offering information literacy courses included lack of expert trainers; limited number of facilities such as computers, some users did not want to attend training and lack of motivation among library staff to participate in teaching information literacy courses. The study recommended that TLSB should collaborate with other institutions by facilitating the teaching of information literacy courses to users in various libraries in the country. Rehabilitating heritage buildings is a common practice in developed countries. In contrast, developing countries experiencing conflict lack the financial support and qualified experts to restore heritage buildings. This article focuses on the restoration of the al-Khader building in the Gaza Strip, part of a UNESCO project aimed at preserving historical buildings. This study aims to explore the challenges and impacts of the adaptive reuse of the al-Khader building as a children's library for the local community and to explore the impact of this project on sustainable development and its importance locally, as well as the role of this building restoration and rehabilitation through Quintuple Helix dimensions. Qualitative methodology was used, including field observation and interviews, to present the project stages during restoration in 2016. The interviews were conducted with library users, employees, and visitors to evaluate their experience in 2019. The research revealed that the restoration process faced several challenges, including a lack of experience and professional workers in conservation work. Despite challenges, the building's transformation positively affected heritage preservation and the local community, aligning with 11 Sustainable Development Goals—directly with 7 goals (SDGs 4, 7, 8, 11, 12, 16, and 17) and indirectly with 4 goals (SDGs 1, 5, 9, and 13). The findings emphasise the role of the library's rehabilitation in contributing to the success of the Quintuple Helix in economic and civil society systems and the need to enhance the consideration of government, education, and environmental systems. Finally, this project, which external donors funded, increased awareness among local people of the importance of heritage buildings. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, the current status of the building is unknown. AbstractThis study explored user perspectives on library design elements, amenities, and services that can potentially enhance the reading experience. Data were collected through a self-administered questionnaire with 537 students. The majority of respondents (86.8%) reported enjoying reading in library environments. Regarding design aspects, having an integrated layout with shelves, chairs and tables cohesively arranged in the reading room was most appealing. Users also favored the presence of other readers and collaborative table designs. Group-study rooms were viewed positively, with 51.2% strongly liking the option to use them and perceiving benefits for learning. While opinions were divided on introducing food services, most supported adding new technologies like 3D printers, art galleries, and museum exhibits. Chi-square analysis revealed significant associations between enjoying library reading and preferences for shared reading spaces with other users (p = 0.024) and group-study rooms. In conclusion, fostering a sense of community, scholarly exchange, and integrated space conducive to focused reading emerged as key factors for enhancing the reading experience in libraries.
