Lineament is formally mappable surface properties that correspond to underground structures probabyl and that distunguish easily from the surrounding structures. The research area covers the Eastern Anatolian Fault Zone (EAFZ) between Bingöl-Karlıova. The purpose of study is to determine relationship with faults of lineaments and to define lineaments with image enhancement techniques and by otomatic methods using satellite images and SRTM DEM. The data of this research are 1 August 2002 dated Landsat 7 ETM, SRTM DEM, geology, topography maps and literatüre dataEdgeat Filter is applied to the Landsat 7 ETM. Lineaments automatically obtained in the PCI Geomatica and later lineaments are edited map in the Arcmap. For accuracy analysis buffer zones of 200 m have been created for the faults and the lineaments falling into these zones have been accepted as faults. Lineament density and orientation analysis are made with lineament data and lineaments are compared with fault orientations. As a result of research, ratio of equivalent to faults of lineaments extracted from Landsat 7 ETM is 25,5 %. ratio of equivalent to faults of lineaments extracted from SRTM DEM is 31 %. Karst formation geometry can be controlled by fractures and faults, and by other lithologies. Here we show the organization of kastic collapse features related to structures and to extensive basaltic lava flows in the Middle Atlas of Morocco. A lineament map of major faults and fractures has been created for the Middle Atlas using Landsat 7 ETM satellite images. This shows a dominant NE-SW regional direction and less prominent NNW-SSE and ENE-WSE directions. All these directions coincide with the alignments of karstic depressions that have formed in the Liassic limestones. The basaltic flows covering these formations on the Middle Atlas limestone plateau, have allowed the generation of cryptokarst, geometrically organized a long these major lineament directions. Karst landforms probabaly existed before the eruption of the lavas, but there were partly invaded by intrusions and volcanism. The extensive basaltic flows allowed for increased infiltration, and subsurface water flow, increasing the rate of kast formation after eruptions. Some basins show evidence of increased subsidence after lava emplacement (Aguelmam Sidi Ali Lake) and some maar-like craters also have subsided after eruption, by karts formation. With this study, using remote sensing technique, a data base which covers data on the electromagnetic energy reflections of various kinds of plants has been formed with the purpose of determining crop patterns. A 1/5.000 scale cadastral map was used as topographic map for the purpose of using remote sensing technique more effectively and sensibly for such crops as cotton, maize and sun flower of which the agriculture is exercised widely in Torbalı township and in this context in all the Aegean Region. In the current study, August 2001 dated Landsat 7 satellite images of the region were interpreted and ground realities and satellite images of the agricultural crops with high economic value which are widely cultivated in the region were overlapped and their values of reflection were determined. Images thus obtained were overlapped with 1/5.000 cadastre maps and product varieties could be determined at the basis of large section of a map, plot and parcel. Separately collaboration with technical personnel from the Directorate of Torbalı Township Agriculture was achieved in field and lab studies, and by transferring the data obtained into their computers, tangible steps were taken in the direction of applying technology at the basis of the Township. As a result, an important and basic database was formed that could be used for the payout of incentive premiums to the local organization for various crops or that could render functionality to the implementation of Agricultural policies based on record system.

The present study is focussing on that how Landsat 7 ETM can be effectively used for estimation of Trophic State Index for Sukhna Lake. Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh has undergone lot of changes in last few decades. The depth and area both reduced tremendously. The shrinkage of the lake is due to the siltation and inadequate water volumes flowing to it. The Trophic State Index has been estimated by using secchi disk transparency and Landsat 7 ETM data. The in situ observations for parameters like pH, DO were measured by using multiparameter water quality instrument TROLL 9500. The best tested interpolation technique has been used to generate in situ images. The results have shown that the lake is in Hypereutrophic condition since 2000. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
