The main focus of this thesis is on the cultural standards between the Italians and the Czechs in study and work enviroment. The aim of this thesis is to identify Czech cultural standards from the perspective of the Italians who studied or worked in the Czech Republic. For this purpose, the method of critical incidents which is based on qualitative interviews with Italian respondents was used. The thesis examines the existence of cultural differences between the Czech and Italian study and work enviroment as well a the existence of cultural differences between Italian and Czech culture, particularly in relationship between student and professor and between employee and employer. Besides the research itself, the thesis deals also with the topic of culture, importance of intercultural communication and cultural dimensions and standards. The thesis deals also with the socio - economic analysis of the Czech Republic. At the end of the thesis there are mentioned recommendations for the Italians and the Czechs to facilitate their mutual cooperation in study and work enviroment.

The diploma thesis is focused on identification and mutual comparison of Czech-British and Slovak-British cultural standards at work environment. The main goal of the thesis is to define British cultural standards from both sides, from the Czech one and the Slovak one, and then to compare, whether the information from qualitative research corresponds with theoretical assumptions. The next goal is to find out how much different is the view on this topic from the Czech and from the Slovak perspective, if it is different. At the end of the thesis will be proposed a few suggestions, how Czech and Slovak should prepare for a longer staying in the United Kingdom in order to avoid possible cultural misunderstandings.

This master thesis is focused on cultural standards of New Zealand. The main aim of this thesis is to define cultural standards of New Zealand and compare them with the theory. The first part of the diploma thesis is focused on theory of culture, cultural dimensions and standards, as well as different concepts of cultural dimensions applied on the Czech and New Zealand culture. The practical part describes the basic characteristics of the country, political and economical system, business dealings and diplomatic protocol. The last part is based on empirical research and defines cultural standards of New Zealand from the Czech perspective.

This Bachelor thesis concentrates on cultural standards of Alexander Thomas and how they influence everyday life of the Czech students in France. The main aim is to define the Czech-French cultural standards and compare them with the theory. Also, the standards will be applied on the historic-cultural aspects. At the end of this Bachelor thesis, the recommendations and guidance will be provided for those students interested in studying in the French Republic.

This Bachelor thesis deals with the differences in the proceedings of individuals in an intercultural area, in order to specify the key knowledge, which illustrates the set of problems in communication of two cultures within one organisation. The theoretical part is based on the knowledge of intercultural communication and intercultural psychology. The theoretical part is structured into three parts, where each part is systematically focused on explanation and interpretation of theoretical knowledge in favour of the keyword phrase of the selected topic. The first part primarily deals with the matter of intercultural communication, cross-cultural barriers of communication and the meaning of intercultural communication in working environment itself. The second part of the thesis compares the cultural differences between the Czech and German society, related to the cultural dimensions and standards which are based on the researches of Geert Hofstede and Nový, Schroll-Machl. The third passage of the theoretical part deals with the intercultural competence and the intercultural training methods. The practical part includes interpretations of results of interviews, which were implemented in cooperation with German and Czech doctors in a German clinic. This Bachelor thesis is therefore focused on detecting the way of thinking and the perceptions, and the identification of problems between the Czech and German workers in a common working environment as well.

This Bachelor Thesis is focused on the Czech cultural standards from the perspectives of both Vietnamese workers and students living in the Czech Republic. The Theoretical Part begins with defining culture, the cultural dimensions according to the two authors Geert Hofstede and Fons Trompenaars, and the cultural standards of Alexander Thomas. Then it describes possible problems and conflicts that may occur when different cultures clash. Lastly, information about both Vietnam and the Czech Republic was provided. This information consists of geography, economy, political system, history, customs, beliefs, and the people of each respective country. In the Practical Part, 24 respondents from work and study environments were selected to participate in qualitative interviews, where they provide answers to questions based on the previously mentioned cultural dimensions. The results from the interviews were analyzed to define the Czech cultural standards as observed by the Vietnamese workers and students. In the end 10 recommendations were listed to help Vietnamese people improve their interaction with their Czech peers.

The main objective of the thesis is to define a Czech-Mexican and Mexican-Czech cultural standards focused on students. The findings are compared with the theory of cultural standards by Ivan Nový. Identification of cultural standards is studied on the basis of the cultural standards method of Alexander Thomas based on an analysis of recurring conflict situations. The data collection was carried out through qualitative interviews with Czech having experience studying in Mexico and Mexican who studied in the Czech Republic. The research aims to analyse the differences in the approach to the time, the perception of authorities and difference in the meaning of education of Mexicans and Czechs. In the end, research findings provide recommendations for Czechs planning to study in Mexico as well as for Mexicans who wish to study in the Czech Republic.

The first part is focused on theoretical information. There I introduced all the key terms and mentioned the most famous expert studies. I focused not only on cultural standarts in overal, but also specifically on cultural standarts of the Czech republic and Russia. The second part is all based about Russia. There are basic information, history and political and economical situations introduced. The third part is practical. I compared the cultural standarts of the Czech republic and Russia. I also compared results of specialists analysis with my own analysis, based on a questionnaire.

The dissertation focuses on Vietnamese culture from the perspective of the Hofstede´s model of cultural dimensions and also describes its development and the factors that shaped it. Emphasis is laid on Vietnamese business etiquette, which includes previously discovered evidence of a Vietnamese way of thinking and acting. Attention is also paid to the characteristics of the Vietnamese minority in the Czech Republic, the static data related to this minority and evaluation of its integration. The goal of the research is to reveal the cultural differences between Vietnamese and Czech society and describe the influence of the Czech environment on original cultural values and habits of members of the Vietnamese minority in the Czech Republic.

This bachelor thesis is dedicated to the investigation of Czech cultural standards from Kazakh perspective in the study environment. The main aim is to identify Czech cultural standards through the view of Kazakh students. In the beginning of the thesis are presented the definition of culture, models of culture and cultural dimensions investigated by E.T.Hall, G.Hofstede, F. Trompenaars, and cultural standards by A.Thomas. In the following chapters are provided information about the Czech Republic (basic overview); also the description of the systems in society, and information about Czech-Kazakh relationships (history and future perspectives). This thesis provides with twelve Czech-Kazakh cultural standards in the study environment, which were identified based on qualitative research; then this result was compared with the theoretical background about identity and key values of Czech people. The thesis is dedicated to the analysis of the fusion of the Peruvian cultural sphere and its respective economic environment based on method of synthesis. Dissecting a number of demographic phenomena, this complex study examines Peruvian cultural standards on the grounds of ethnic and linguistic observations along with defining the importance of national cultural heritage, and it investigates how these cultural standards affect the economic climate of Peru. The theory of the thesis is based on cultural models by Geert Hofstede and Fons Trompenaars. The cultural standards are being identified by using the method of critical incidents where the selected respondents are being interviewed. The thesis analyses at which aspects the two examined cultures differ the most and how it influences the working environment and performance. The research results are compared to other theoretical models and the thesis provides recommendations on how to work with the identified standards in order to make the Indian-Czech cooperation as efficient as possible.

The primary focus of this bachelor thesis is to reveal cultural standards that exist in the eyes of Czechs who have had a working experience with the Vietnamese and in the eyes of Vietnamese who have had a working experience with Czechs. First the thesis starts off with a definition of culture alone cultural dimensions according to Geert Hofstede Fons Trompenaars and Edward T. Hall and lastly cultural standards according to Alexander Thomas are covered. The explanation of geographical and historical aspects which influenced the Czech culture and both geographical and historical aspects which influenced the Vietnamese culture is following. Afterwards there is a description of the five Vietnamese cultural standards derived from the interviews conducted with the Czechs and three Czech cultural standards derived from interviews conducted with the Vietnamese. The thesis concludes with suggestions for smoother communication and interaction between people from the two different countries and cultures.

This diploma thesis is focused on Czech-Scottish cultural standards at work environment. The main aim is to define Scottish cultural standards at work environment from the Czech point of view and to compare them with the theory. The thesis begins with the definition of culture, cultural dimensions introduced by G. Hofstede, F. Trompenaars and E. T. Hall and cultural standards by A. Thomas. It continues to the description of Scotland with its geography, history, language, economic situation and various systems in the society, such as the legal system, educational system, health care system, a role of the family and religion. Further, Scottish national identity, key values and traditions are identified and there are added some information about work in Scotland. The thesis then leads us onwards to the determination of eight cultural standards at work environment and six cultural standards connected with the daily life in Scotland based on the qualitative research. The standards concerning work environment are further compared with the theory. At the end of the thesis, there are provided some recommendations for Czechs who are going to work with Scots.

The Diploma thesis deals with the Burmese immigrants who were granted asylum and a new home within the resettlement program in the Czech Republic. It is focused on the process of adaptation to Czech culture and the factors affecting this process. In the theoretical part, terms related to culture, adaptation and migration are defined. The institutions operating in the Czech Republic providing assistance and other services to immigrants are also discussed in the text. In the practical part the problem of adapting Burmese refugees to Czech culture is discussed on the basis of their own experience using the method of semi-structured interview as a part of a qualitative research.

Nowadays, exchange programs are becoming increasingly popular among students all over the world. Thanks to high-quality education, the United States are much desired destination, the Czech Republic attracts Americans with its great location in the heart of Europe and rich history. Cultural values in American society are however in many respects way different from the ones we share in Czech environment. Therefore cultural shock can appear when a student decides to move to another country in order to study there. Understanding cultural differences is essential for successful interaction with local individuals. The main topic of this thesis is the concept of cultural standards defined by Alexander Thomas, applied on university study environment in the Czech Republic and the USA. The aim was to identify Czech-American cultural standards in the study environment from the perspective of Czech university students who studied in the US at least for one semester and US-Czech cultural standards from the perspective of students from the USA. Identified standards were then compared with theoretical conclusions from research of cultural dimensions done by Fons Trompenaars and Geert Hofstede. At the end, recommendations are written for students of both nationalities, which should help them to integrate into foreign environment and eliminate potential culture shock.

The aim of the thesis is to identify and evaluate Czech cultural standards from the perspective of Canadian exchange students and Canadian cultural standards from the perspective of Czech exchange students, using the method of cultural standards, which is based on qualitative research through in-depth interviews form. Individual goals of the thesis include comparison of the results with theoretical research and analysis of historical and socio-economic impacts on Canadian culture. In conclusion, the author proposes recommendations for the Czechs and especially the future Czech students who plan to study in Canada.

The aim of this thesis is to identify and more closely analyse Italian cultural standards, specifically from the perspective of Czechs and Slovaks, who came to a closer and more extended contact with the Italian culture. Identification of these standards was based on in-depth personal interviews and the theoretical part of this thesis. The work deals with the contrasting the Czech-German cultural standards, both generally and specifically in the German travel agency Wolff Ost. Reisen, which has one of the branches in the Czech Republic. The study describes and characterizes the different cultural dimensions and standards, including theoreticians, who deals with the various dimensions. Part of the work is devoted to characterize the specific Czech-German cultural dimensions and standards, from the Czech and also from the German point of view. The outcome of this work is a survey, which was conducted by the company in Germany and a branch in Prague. The work also includes research methodology and characteristics of the enterprise. A separate chapter is devoted to evaluation of the survey.

The disertation work focuses on currently highly observed issue of intercultural cooperation. Following the change of social situation the topic has become both a practical issue and a subjekt of research study. It compares and analyzes crosscultural and intercultural approach and criticizes both approaches for supporting social stereotypes, especially thein negative aspects. The main goal of this master's thesis "Intercultural communication CR and USA" is to explore intercultural differences between Czechs and Americans, discover points that may cause conflicts between them and identify American cultural standards according to Czech people. Diploma thesis consist of three parts. First part is dedicated to theoretical concepts and technical terms, which helps to understand processes of intercultural communication. In methodological part are described used methods of research and characterized group of respondents. Last part shows results of research, where explored conflicts are and identified American cultural standards. Thesis include recommendations, which can be useful for Czech people, who plan for different reasons communicate with Americans.

The purpose of this diploma thesis is to describe the features of the American culture by analyzing the cultural standards, use them for comparison with the Slovak culture and create a set of recommendations for easier adaptation of the Slovaks in the United States. The work is divided into three parts - theoretical, practical and empirical. In the theoretical section we define the concept of culture, cultural standards and cultural dimensions, and on this basis we compare the features of the American and Slovak culture. The practical part describes the characteristics of the USA - national symbols, history, geography, religion, population, economy, political system, basic features of the US market, the impact of globalization and the specifics of the US business environment. The empirical section uses a questionnaire survey to examine the American culture from the Slovak point of view. The result of this thesis is a manual created with the use of the synthesis and comparison methods.

This master's thesis deals with the encounter of two cultures - Czech and French, and its goal is to "identify Czech-French cultural standards and draw practical advice and recommendations for communication and cooperation." The first chapter explains the most important terms affecting the subject in theory. The next chapter introduces France and applies the foundations created in the previous chapter. The third and fourth chapters are devoted to my own research, which was carried out by using the methods of critical situations and is based on in-depth interviews with members of both cultures. Their testimonies are then used to establish standards, the main points in which the Czechs and French differ and to make advice on how to work with these differences.

The aim of this thesis was to examine the Czech-Taiwanese cultural standards in business and study environment from the perspective of Czech students and businessmen. The first chapter deals with theoretical bases of cultural standards including explanations of key concepts. The second part deals with the development of Taiwan focusing on the major historical milestones. There is also economy, demography, political and social system, religion, education system in Taiwan and Czech-Taiwanese relations mentioned. The main aim of this diploma thesis is to indentify German and Austrian cultural standards and the second aim is to confirm or disprove the given hypotheses. The first part is theoretical and defines the theoretical basis of this topic. It deals with Czech-German and Czech-Austrian business relationship. This work focuses mainly to the cultural differences between the Czechs and the French in the school and working environment. The goal is to identify the French cultural standards from the perspective of Czech university students in France and the Czechs, who work in France or are working in contact with French, for example, in the Czech Republic. The author uses the method of critical incidents by conducting interviews. The author tests four hypotheses: verifies if there are cultural differences between the Czechs and the French and if these differences manifest during the contact in the workplace and at school and whether the Czech and French have different perception of authority in the workplace and at school. In the end, the work proposes recommendations for Czechs to facilitate cooperation with the French at school and at work.

Much of the work is devoted to describing specific contrast Czech-German cultural standards from both the Czech and from the German perspective. The work is focused on the contrasts and cultural contacts between Czech and German colleagues in the German company in the Czech Republic. The basis of this finding is a questionnaire survey, through which are confirmed or challenged couples Czech-German cultural standards. The work is also characteristic of the company business.

The first part focuses on the theoretical knowledge required for the research part of the Bachelor's Thesis. This section defines basic concepts of this work as communication and culture. This section focuses primarily on the specification of intercultural communication between Czechs and Germans, to established cultural standards and their comparisons. The aim of this thesis "American cultural standards" is to identify American cultural standards from the point of view of Czech people, who have either studied or worked in the United States. These standards could be useful to other students or people who are considering to travel to the USA to study, work or just for tourism. Within these thesis are described uttermost cultural differences caused by confrontation of Czech and American culture as well as the specific recommendations, how to reduce these cultural shocks or prevent them. There is an introduction into issues of cultural dimensions and standards within this thesis too.

The second part focus on general information about Australia and then on characteristics of Australian culture mentioned in the literature. The aim of this final thesis is identifying and evaluating American cultural standards from the view of the Czech university students. These students were participating in the Work and Travel USA program. There are also some important information about the American history, religion, population and economy.

The basic idea of the diploma thesis is to identify cultural standards of three German-speaking countries from the Czech perspective and investigate how these cultural standards can be reflected in a specific working environment in the outsourcing services. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis deals with the main aspects of culture, especially with intercultural communication, methodology of cultural dimensions and standards. German, Austrian and Swiss cultural standards were examined by means of an interview and questionnaire research among Czech employees working in outsourcing services. The practical part focuses on specifics of outsourcing, derivation of cultural standards from Czech point of view and potential exposure of cultural standards in the workplace of outsourcing company.

The aim of the final thesis is to identify Russian cultural standards from the view of Czech students who spent at least one semester studying in Russian Federation. Discovered cultural standards should clearly explain main differences between Czech and Russian way of thinking and help other students quickly adapt to new surroundings.

The main objective lies in the abstraction and definition of cultural standards of this specific target group. In the conclusion there is a set of recommendations for the exchange students that should ease their first contact with a foreign culture.

The goal of this diploma thesis is to identify English cultural standards from the Czech point of view. In contemporary globalized world, cultural standards, which help us to discover and understand the specific features, norms of behaviour, thinking and feeling of English people, are essential for successful communication with English partners. This thesis is divided into free parts. The theoretical part is focused on theory of culture, cultural dimensions and standards. In the practical part, the attention is paid to basic information about England, contemporary English society, English culture and social and business etiquette. The goal of the last, empirical part is to describe the view of Czech people on English and to reveal the main differences between both cultures.

Annotation: The work entitled Problems of intercultural communication based on differences in vocabulary Czech and German deals with the causes of differences in the two languages. It focuses primarily on the relationship of language and culture, from which the language originated. Specifies the individual links, or areas in the language, which the culture is reflected in action in. The work analyzes the relationships within the language.

The aim of this thesis is to identify cultural standards typical for German culture in comparison with Czech culture. These cultural standards point out the main differences between Czech and German mentality and are defined by my own experience and personal interviews with Czech and German workers. The thesis includes an introduction into methodology of cultural dimensions and standards and also involves some important facts about German history and economy. The final recommendation is useful for everyone who deals with the German and who wants to make their communication more effective.

The main aim of this dissertation thesis is to explore a different view and contribute to the research in the area of the intercultural communication and cooperation. In this thesis we are trying to examine two different cultures from the point of view of the cultural standards. To be able to gain a comparable and trustful outcome, the research was conducted on a specific group of Czech and Spanish business managers and employees. The main common characteristic of the members of this specific group was determined based on at least half a year of interactive communication within Czech -- Spanish international cooperation. Given the current situation of the increasing globalization process, compounded by integrating cultures, we believe that the above mentioned topic is highly valuable for daily management skills and employees' relations. We find it very important to pay more attention and give more thought to this issue, as the correct communication is one of key means to successful business management and cooperation. It is obvious that misunderstandings in communication and cooperation within the managing teams might lead to fatal breakdowns. It is no longer possible to overlook the strong influence of the globalization process. This fact should be taken into a serious consideration by leaders of the universities and multicultural companies. This should be followed by the integration of new management methods corresponding to the changes and new influences in multicultural entities. With respect to the structure and wide range of the changes brought into the companies by the globalization process, it was a real challenge to fulfill the goals of this dissertation thesis based on the realized qualitative examination research. An important output of this research is the identification of key differences within the above specified tested group. These differences arise from specific thinking and behavior which lead to different attitudes in regards to managing both life situations and a professional career. Based on these findings, we suggest classifying the Czechs and the Spanish into particular existing theoretical models. Good understanding of the key differences coupled with the theoretical knowledge allows us to suggest some suitable recommendation, tips and tricks for a better mutual communication among Czech and Spanish managers and employees on both professional and personal levels.

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyze Czech perspective of German cultural standards. These standards are defined by both author's personal experiences and by interviews with persons who have had first-hand experience with German culture. Standards described in this thesis are supposed to understandably show key differences between Czech and German mentality. Advice and recommendations for effective dealing with German (or Czech respectively) culture on business, HR management or team cooperation level will also be provided in the thesis. Theoretical part should introduce and define following terms: national culture, social interaction, cultural standards, cultural dimensions, intercultural communication, and intercultural communication competence.

The thesis deals with cultural standards of Sweden in the context of european civilization and swedish history. It points out important topics and problems of contemporary swedish society. Well-known research of Geert Hofstede is confronted with personal experience of Swedes and foreign visitors. Theoretical lead-in to understanding culture and communication is an integral part of the thesis.

The purpose of the diploma thesis is to analyse Dutch cultural standards and develop a handbook for Czech citizens, comprising of useful tips on how to succeed in a Dutch environment. The work is divided into three main parts - theoretical, practical, and empirical. The theoretical part is focused on such terms as culture, cultural standards, and cultural dimensions as defined by different authors. The practical part is dedicated to the characterisation of the Netherlands with emphasis on the Dutch-Czech economical cooperation and Dutch cultural specifics. The empirical part attempts to assess the Dutch cultural standards from the Czech point of view. The synthesis of all three parts mentioned above is embodied in the Dutch-Czech cooperation handbook.

The aim of my final thesis is identifying american cultural standards from the view of students participating Work and Travel USA program.

The objective of the thesis is to identify specific features of the German and Austrian cultures and to examine how the cultural differences are reflected in a mutual cooperation with representatives of the Czech culture. The thesis also contains an introduction into intercultural management and methodology of cultural dimensions and standards and their most popular representatives. Cultural standards of Germans and Austrians were examined by means of an interview and questionnaire research among Czechs who have been repeatedly and on a long-term basis in contact with either of the mentioned cultures. In order to get a better understanding of the other parties the research was also conducted among Germans and Austrians who have been in contact with representatives of the Czech culture. The thesis is recommended to businesspeople, managers, workers and any other individuals who are about to cooperate with Germans or Austrians.
