3. Učinak saliniteta i alkaliteta na klijanje i rast korijena industrijske konoplje (Cannabis sativa L.)

Salinitet i alkalitet pripadaju abiotičkim stresnim čimbenicima koji ograničavaju opskrbu biljke vodom te uzrokuju ionski stres čime narušavaju ionsku ravnotežu stanice. Oba stresna čimbenika negativno utječu na sve razvojne faze, no faza klijanja je najosjetljivija jer klica dolazi u direktni kontakt s vodenom otopinom soli u tlu. Industrijska konoplja (Cannabis sativa L.) dobro podnosi salinitet uzrokovan povišenom koncentracijom NaCl ali je relativno malo dostupnih podataka koji se bave tolerancijom konoplje na različite vrste solnoga stresa. Sjeme kultivara konoplje (Santhica 70 i Futura 83) bilo je izloženo djelovanju saliniteta izazvanog otopinama NaCl i Na2SO4 te alkaliteta izazvanog otopinama NaHCO3 i Na2CO3 tijekom četiri dana. Obje vrste solnog stresa inhibirale su klijanje i rast korijena u oba genotipa u odnosu na kontrolu. Stres izazvan otopinom Na2SO4 nakon 2. dana uzgoja uzrokovao je redukciju klijavosti za 97,6% (Santhica 70) i 90,6% (Futura 83) te pokazao najniže vrijednosti germinacijskog indeksa tolerantnosti na sol (STI_G2) u oba kultivara, dok je otopina Na2CO3 nakon 4. dana uzrokovala najveću redukciju rasta korijena za 94% (Futura 83) , odnosno 95% (Santhica 70). Stres izazvan otopinom NaCl imao je najmanje štetne posljedice na klijavost i rast korijena iz čega slijedi da odgovor na solni stres ovisi o vrsti biljnog tkiva. Nakon 4. dana klijavost Future 83 bila je 7,6% (NaCl) i 13,8% (NaHCO3) veća od klijavosti Santhice 70. Nadalje, Futura 83 na otopini NaCl imala je veće vrijednosti STI_G2 i STI_G4 te 15% dulji korijen nego Santhica 70, iz čega proizlazi da tolerantnost saliniteta i alkaliteta ovisi o genotipskim obilježjima.

Soil pH is one of the most important limiting factors for crop cultivation, including maize. About 30-40% of the world's arable land is acidic, and over a billion ha is alkaline. Today, there are 205 million ha of arable land under maize in the world, so it ranks third in area after rice and wheat. Maize hybrids have wide genetic variability and high pH tolerance. We tested the tolerance of maize hybrids seedlings of ZP 4708 and ZP 5797 to pH 5, 6, 7, and 8. Results showed that hybrid ZP 4708 has a higher adaptability to low and high pH, due to the higher value of germination energy (GE), shoot length (ShL), shoot fresh weight (ShFW), shoot dry weight (ShDW), germination rate index (GRI), and seedling vigor index (SVI) than hybrid ZP 5797. Results further showed, on average for hybrids, that pH 5 and pH 8 significantly decreased the GE, root length (RL), ShL, root fresh weight (RFW), ShFW, root dry weight (RDW), shoot fresh weight (ShDW), and SVI. These parameters did not differ significantly between pH 6 and pH 7. Seed germination was not affected by the pH, indicating that the seed vigor of both hybrids supports full germination potential. However, it could be expected that exposure to the lowest and highest pH values of the medium could affect seedlings growth in the field conditions, even though germination is high. SVI showed a positive and significant correlation with all investigated parameters, except germination (G) and relative seedling water content (RSWC). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cilj istraživanja bio je utvrditi alelopatski potencijal lucerne (Medicago sativa L.) na klijavost sjemena i rast klijanaca rotkvice (Raphanus sativus L.), radiča (Cichorium intybus L. var. foliosum) i rajčice (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.). Vodeni ekstrakti pripremljeni od suhe nadzemne mase lucerne u tri koncentracije (1 %, 2,5 % i 5 %) testirani su u laboratorijskim uvjetima. Alelopatski potencijal lucerne ovisio je o test vrsti, koncentraciji vodenog ekstrakta te mjerenom parametru. Najslabije djelovanje zabilježeno je na klijavost te rast klijanaca rajčice. Povećanjem koncentracije vodenog ekstrakta povećavao se i negativni alelopatski potencijal. Najmanji utjecaj vodenih ekstrakata zabilježen je na suhu masu klijanaca test vrsta.

14. Effects of sowing date on emergence and yield of maize inbred lines

The paper presents the seed production technologies of maize sown on three different sowing dates. Seeds of three maize inbred lines (L1, L2, L3) were used as a seed material in the location of Zemun Polje in 2018. The objectives of the present study was to determine the importance of different sowing dates as a method to overcome stressful conditions caused by unfavourable environmental factors, as well as to point out to a significance of the seed size in sowing. Effects of the following factors were observed in relation to emergence and the maize grain yield: sowing date (SD), seed fraction (LF, SF and PF) and genotype (L). The gained results indicate that the lowest percentage of emergence was determined in the variant L2/SD2/SF (34%), while the highest grain yield was determined in the variant L3/SD1/ PF 8.86 t/ha. The standard deviation of the yield is the largest for variants with the highest yield.

Kvaliteta sjemena od presudnog je značaja za poljoprivrednu proizvodnju. Osnovni pokazatelji kvalitete sjemena su vlaga, masa 1000 sjemenki, čistoća, energija klijanja, klijavost i zdravstveno stanje. Energija klijanja i klijavost sjemena ispituju se prema točno propisanoj metodici ovisno o biljnoj vrsti. Za svaku biljnu vrstu propisana je podloga za naklijavanje, temperatura u procesu klijanja, broj dana potrebnih za očitavanje energije i klijavosti sjemena., te predtretman ako se radi o sjemenu koje ima izraženo svojstvo dormantnosti. Temperature ispitivanja klijavosti prilagođene su optimalnim temperaturama u vrijeme sjetve određene biljne vrste, no posljednjih godina zbog klimatskih prilika često se dogodi da su temperature u vrijeme sjetve zrnatih mahunarki osjetno niže u odnosu na višegodišnji prosjek. Cilj istraživanja je utvrditi utjecaj različitih temperatura na energiju klijanja i klijavost sjemena zrnatih mahunarki. Ispitivanje energije klijanja i klijavosti sjemena graška (Pisum sativum L.), stočnog graška jarog i ozimog (Pisum arvense L.), graha zrnaša visokog i niskog (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), graha mahunara visokog i niskog (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), boba (Vicia faba L.) i soje (Glycine max L.) provedeno je standardnom metodom u pijesku na tri temperature 15 °C, 20 °C i 25 °C. Propisana temperatura ispitivanja klijavosti kod svih vrsta je 25 °C, osim kod boba i graška 20 °C. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju da je klijavost sjemena na temperaturi od 15 °C niska kod svih ispitivanih vrsta, osim kod boba i ozimog stočnog graška, dok je energija klijanja sjemena graha zrnaša, graha mahunara i soje 0 %. Temperatura od 20 °C negativno je utjecala na energiju klijanja i klijavost sjemena graha zrnaša, graha mahunara i jarog stočnog graška, dok je kod boba, ozimog stočnog graška i soje utjecaj temperature bio pozitivan na oba pokazatelja kvalitete sjemena. Sjeme graška, jarog stočnog graška, graha zrnaša i graha mahunara imalo je najvišu energiju klijanja i klijavost na temperaturi od 25 °C. Niske temperature u vrijeme nicanja mogu izazvati značajne štete na usjevima zrnatih mahunarki jer je kod većine vrsta energija klijanja 0 %, a klijavost sjemena vrlo niska., Seed quality is crucial for agricultural production. The basic indicators of seed quality are moisture, weight of 1000 seeds, purity, germination energy, germination and health. Germination energy and seed germination are tested according to a precisely prescribed methodology depending on the plant species. For each plant species, the substrate for germination is prescribed, the temperature in the process of germination, the number of days required to read the energy and germination of seeds, and pre-treatment if the seed has a pronounced dormant property. Germination testing temperatures are adjusted to optimal temperatures at the time of sowing a particular plant species, but in recent years due to climatic conditions it often happens that temperatures at the time when grain legumes are sown are significantly lower than the multi-year average. The aim of the research is to determine the influence of different temperatures on germination energy and germination of grain legume seeds. Testing of germination energy and germination of seeds of peas, fodder peas (spring and winter), grain beans (high and low), green beans (high and low), broad beans and soybeans was performed by the standard method in sand at three temperatures 15 °C, 20 °C and 25 °C. The prescribed germination testing temperature for all species is 25 °C, except for broad beans which is 20 °C. Research results show that seed germination at a temperature of 15 ° C is low in all tested species, except for spring peas and broad beans, while the germination energy of grain bean seeds, green beans and soybeans is 0%. The temperature of 20 °C had a negative effect on the germination energy and germination of seeds of grain beans, green beans and spring fodder peas, while in broad beans, winter fodder peas and soybeans the effect of temperature was positive on both seed quality indicators. Seeds of peas, grain beans and green beans had the highest germination energy and germination at a temperature o f 25 ° C. Low t temperatures a t t he time of germination can cause significant damage to grain legume crops because in most species the germination energy is 0% and the germination of seeds is very low.

20. Značaj primene tretmana semena na povećanje pokazatelja kvaliteta semena paprike

Cilj rada je bio da se utvrdi uticaj sorte i tretmana semena na glavne pokazatelje kvaliteta semena tri sorte paprika (Merak, Ordesa i PWC 15001). Ogled je izveden 2022. godine u Laboratoriji za kontrolu kvaliteta semena i sadnog materijala Instituta za zaštitu bilja i životnu sredinu u Beogradu. Kao materijal u ogledu korišćeno je seme sorti paprika proizvedeno u 2022. godini. Tretman semena je izveden sa 1% rastvorom natrijum hipohlorida u trajanju od 10 minuta, zatim je ispirano i osušeno. Ispitivanje klijavosti semena izvršeno je standardnom laboratorijskom metodom na filter papiru navlaženom 0,2% vodenim rastvorom KNO3 na 4 x 100 semena. Seme je inkubirano 14 dana na temperaturi 20 - 30ºC i relativnoj vlažnosti vazduha od 95%. Sedmog dana inkubacije ocenjena je energija klijanja, a 14 dana ukupna klijavost. Zdravstvena ispravnost semena ocenjivana je vizuelnom metodom. Dobijeni rezultati ukazuju da su pojedinačni faktori sorta i tretman semena značajno uticali (p< 0,01) na energiju klijanja, ukupnu klijavost i procenat bolesnog semena, dok njihov uticaj na procenat nenormalnog semena nije utvrđen. Takođe, uticaj interakcije faktora na posmatrane pokazatelje kvaliteta semena je izostao. Primenjeni tretman na semenu uticao je u proseku na povećanje energije klijanja i ukupne klijavosti za po 4% kod sve tri ispitivane sorte paprika. Kod sorti paprika utvrđeno je prisustvo samo patogena Alternaria sp., čija se zastupljenost kretala od 6 do 9% u varijantama bez tretmana semena (kontrola). Primenom ovog tretmana kod ispitivanih sorti procenat zaraženog semena Alternaria sp. se značajno smanjio ispod 5%, što predstavlja zakonski maksimum za stavljanje semena paprike u promet., The aim of the work was to determine the influence of variety and seed treatment on the main indicators of seed quality of three pepper varieties. The experiment was carried out in 2022 at the Laboratory for Quality Control of Seeds and Planting Material of the Institute for Plant Protection and the Environment in Belgrade. As material in the experiment, seeds of pepper varieties produced in 2022 were used. The seeds were treated with a 1% sodium hypochlorite solution for 10 minutes, then rinsed and dried. Seed germination was tested using a standard laboratory method on filter paper moistened with a 0.2% aqueous solution of KNO3 on 4 x 100 seeds. The seeds were incubated for 14 days at a temperature of 20 - 30ºC and a relative humidity of 95%. On the seventh day of incubation, the energy of germination was evaluated, and on the 14th, the total germination, that is, the number of typical seedlings. The healthiness of the seeds was assessed by the visual method. The obtained results indicate that the individual factors of variety and seed treatment significantly influenced (p< 0.01) the energy of germination, total germination and the percentage of diseased seeds, while their influence on the percentage of abnormal seeds was not determined. Also, the influence of the interaction of factors on the observed indicators of seed quality was absent. The treatment applied to the seeds affected on increase in the energy of germination and total germination by 4% in all three tested pepper varieties. In pepper varieties, the presence of only the pathogen Alternaria sp. was determined, whose prevalence ranged from 6 to 9% in varieties without seed treatment (control). By applying this treatment to the investigated varieties, the percentage of infected seeds of Alternaria sp. has significantly decreased below 5%, which is the legal maximum for placing pepper seeds on the market.

Proizvodnja uljane repice u Srbiji prati trend porasta površina pod uljaricama u svetu. Kao najvažniji preduslov za uspešnu proizvodnju i postizanje visokih prinosa neophodno je obezbediti seme visokog kvaliteta i osigurati optimalan sklop biljaka. Kvalitetan tretman semena se pokazao kao najbolje rešenje za zaštitu biljaka u početnim fazama razvoja. Ispitivanja su izvedena na tri sorte ozime uljane repice: Ana, Zorica i Jasna. Seme je tretirano fungicidima sa aktivnim materijama karboksin + tiram i fluopikolid + fluoksastrobin, kao i insekticidom sa a.m. flupiradifuron, a kontrola je bilo netretirano seme. Uticaj tretmana ispitan je primenom standardnog laboratorijskog metoda i nakon 7 dana utvrđeni su klijavost semena i dužina ponika. Klijavost semena u kontroli se kretala od 92% do 93%. U proseku, najveću klijavost imalo je seme tretirano sa fungicidom fluopikolid + fluoksastrobin (94 – 98%). Značajno nižu klijavost imalo je seme sorte Jasna (84%) i Ana (88%) tretirano kombinacijom fungicida karboksin + tiram i insekticida. Dužina ponika je bila statistički značajno najveća kod semena sorte Jasna (18,27 cm) tretiranog fungicidom fluopikolid + fluoksastrobin, koja je i u proseku za sve tretmane imala najveću vrednost ispitivanog parametra. Najniže vrednosti su dobijene kod ponika sorte Zorica (13,39 cm) pri tretmanu fungicidom karboksin + tiram. Za uspešnu proizvodnju treba odabirati tretmane koji imaju pozitivan efekat na kvalitet semena., The production of oilseed rape in Serbia follows the trend of increasing areas under oil crops in the world. As the most important precondition for successful production and achieving high yields, it is necessary to provide high-quality seeds and ensure an optimal plant number per hectare. Quality seed treatment has proven to be the best solution for plant protection in the initial stages of development. Test was performed on three varieties of winter rapeseed: Ana, Zorica and Jasna. The seeds were treated with fungicides with a.i. carboxin + thiram and fluopicolide + fluoxastrobin, as well as an insecticide with a.i. flupyradifurone, and control was untreated seeds. The effect of the treatment was tested using a standard laboratory method, and after 7 days, seed germination and seedling length were determined. Seed germination in the control ranged from 92% to 93%. On average, seeds treated with the fungicide fluopicolide + fluoxastrobin had the highest germination (94-98%). The seeds of Jasna (84%) and Ana (88%) varieties treated with the combination of fungicide carboxin + thiram and insecticide had a significantly lower germination rate. The seedlings length was statistically significantly highest in the seeds of Jasna variety (18.27 cm) treated with fungicide fluopicolide + fluoxastrobin, which had the highest value of the tested parameter on average for all treatments. The lowest values were obtained in seedlings of Zorica variety (13.39 cm) treated with the fungicide carboxin + thiram. For successful production, treatments that have a positive effect on seed quality should be selected.

- Abstract
Paprika (Capsicum annum L.) je jednogodišnja zeljasta biljka iz porodice Solanaceae. Prema podacima iz 2022. godine, u našoj zemlji paprika se uzgaja na površini od 10186 ha sa prosečnim prinosom od 14,1 t/ha. U povrtarskoj proizvodnji uniformna klijavot semena i kvalitetan rasad su uslov uspešne tehnologije gajenja paprike u zatvorenom prostoru i u polju. Produkcijom fitohormona (auksina, giberelina, citokinina) bakterije iz roda Bacillus ispoljavaju pozitivan efekat na klijavost semena, razvoj nadzemnog dela i korena biljke. Takođe, ovim direktnim mehanizmom Bacillus spp. stimulišu povećanje biomase biljaka, čime utiču i na sam prinos paprike. Cilj istraživanja bio je proučavanje uticaja autohtonih izolata Bacillus spp., poreklom iz zemljišta Srbije, na klijavost semena paprike i morfološke parametre klijanaca.

Sortiment paprike obuhvata značajan broj različitih genotipova i spada u jedno od najpopularnijih povrća širom sveta. Ukupna klijavost značajno je bila viša kod genotipa feferone (88,5±0,17%), u odnosu na genotipove tipa babure i pimiento u sezoni 2021. godine. Parametar vlage semena statistički se značajno razlikovao kod genotipa babure (9,02±0,02%) i bio je viši u odnosu na ostale genotipove u 2021. godini. Ukupna klijavost u 2022. godini bila je najviša kod feferone i iznosila je 85,83±0,33%, ali se nije statistički značajno razlikovao u odnosu na genotip babure. Procenat vlage bio je najviši kod genotipa pimiento, iznosio je 10,13±0,02%. Zdravstvena ispravnost semena u posmatranom periodu bila je u okviru propisanih granica., Pepper assortment includes many different genotypes and represents one of the most popular vegetables worldwide. Total germination was significantly higher in the pepperoni genotype (88.5±0.17%), compared to the babura and pimiento genotypes during the season 2021. The seed moisture parameter statistically significantly differed in the babura genotype (9.02±0.02%) and was higher compared to the other genotypes in 2021. The total germination rate in 2022 was the highest in pepperoni and amounted to 85.83±0.33%, it was not statistically significantly different to the babura genotype. The percentage of moisture was the highest in the pimiento genotype and was 10.13±0.02%. The seed health in the observed period was within the prescribed limits.

Paprika (Capsicum annuum L.) kao komercijalna vrsta gaji se širom sveta. Godišnja proizvodnja paprike dostigla je oko 3.9 miliona tona. Površine pod zasadima paprike u Srbiji procenjene su na 10.278 ha u 2021. godini, dok je ukupna proizvodnja iznosila 147.663 tone. U ovoj studiji vršeno je ispitivanje semena dva genotipa paprike dobijenih sa lokacija Kula i Smederevska Palanka. Ispitivanje je vršeno standardnim metodama za procenu klijavosti i zdravstvene ispravnosti semena. Kvalitet semena paprike procenjen je na osnovu parametara klijanja, vlage i zdravstvene ispravnosti semena za sezonu 2022 godine. Energija klijanja iznosila je 75% (Strižanka) i 85% (Župska rana) za lokalitet Smederevska Palanka, dok je za Kulu iznosila 65% (Strižanka) i 55% (Župska rana) (p<0.05). Ukupna klijavost iznosila je 88% (Strižanka) i 90% (Župska Rana) za lokalitet u Smederevska Palanka, dok je u Kuli iznosila 80% (Strižanka) i 70% (Župska Rana). Sadržaj vlage dostigao je 11.5% i 11% za Strižanku i Župsku ranu, respektivno (p>0.05) sa lokaliteta u Smederevskoj Palanci. U uzorcima dobijenih sa lokaliteta u Kuli sadržaj vlage je iznosio 12.5% za Strižanku i 9.5% za Župsku ranu (p<0.05). Zdravstvena ispravnost semena testirana je na Alternaria spp. i Fusarium spp. Procenat infekcije za Strižanku i Župsku Ranu iznosio je 1% (Smederevska Palanka) (p>0.05), dok je u Kuli iznosio 3% za Strižanku i 5% za Župsku Ranu (p<0.05). Dobijeni podaci za parametre kvaliteta ukazuju na značajnu razliku između lokaliteta Smederevska Palanka i Kula. Buduća istraživanja će biti vezana za analizu zemljista i ukupni prinos po parceli na lokacijama Smederevska Palanka i Kula., Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) as a commercial species is cultivated worldwide. Seed health was tested on phytopathogenic fungi Alternaria spp. and Fusarium spp. For Strizanka and Zupska Rana amounted to 1% (Smederevska Palanka) (p>0.05).While in Kula amounted to 3% and 5%, respectively (p<0.05) and they were statistically significant (p<0.05). The obtained data of seed quality parameters indicated a statistically significant difference between Smederevska Palanka and Kula locations. Future research will be related to soil analysis and total yield per plot at two locations.

Rapeseed is a major oilseed crop that has various uses in the food, feed, and industrial sectors. The first condition for successful production and achieving high yields is to provide high-quality seeds, which, in addition to high seed vitality, also implies good seedling protection. The goal is to ensure an optimal number of plants per hectare, which is also a basic prerequisite for achieving high yields. Quality seed treatment has proven to be the best solution for plant protection in the initial stages of development. The seeds were treated with fungicides with the a.i. carboxin + thiram and fluopicolide + fluoxastrobin, as well as an insecticide with a.i. flupyradifuron, and the control was untreated seed. Treatments had a great influence on germination energy, seed germination, number of abnormal seedlings, length and weight of seedlings. The fungicidal fluopicolide + fluoxastrobin treatment had the greatest positive effect on most of the tested parameters, while the carboxin + thiram + flupyradifuron treatment had the greatest negative effect on the seed germination parameter., Uljana repice spade u vodeće uljane biljne vrste u svetu koja se koristi za različite namene u prehrambenom, stočnom i industrijskom sektoru. Prvi uslov za uspješnu proizvodnju i postizanje visokih prinosa je osiguranje kvalitetnog semena, što osim visoke vitalnosti semena podrazumeva i dobru zaštitu klijanaca. Cilj je osigurati optimalan broj biljaka po hektaru, što je ujedno i osnovni preduslov za postizanje visokih prinosa. Kvalitetno tretiranje semena pokazalo se kao najbolje rešenje za zaštitu biljaka u početnim fazama razvoja. U ovom istraživanju seme je tretirano fungicidima sa a.m. karboksin + tiram i fluopikolid + fluoksastrobin, kao i insekticidom sa a.m. flupiradifuron, a kontrola je bilo netretirano sjeme. Tretmani su imali značajan uticaj na energiju klijanja, klijavost semena, broj abnormalnih klijanaca, dužinu i masu klijanaca. Tretman fungicidom fluopikolid + fluoksastrobin imao je najveći pozitivan uticaj na većinu ispitivanih parametara, dok je tretman karboksin + tiram + flupiradifuron imao najveći negativan uticaj na parametar klijavosti semena.

U radu su prikazani rezultati ispitivanja klijavosti semena i početnog porasta klijanaca četiri hibrida suncokreta (2950, 2951, 3007, 3009) pri različitim temperaturama: 20, 25 i 30 °C. Kod svih ispitivanih hibrida najviše klijanje semena suncokreta ostvareno je na temperaturi od 30 °C, međutim, na dva ispitivana hibrida (2950 i 3007) nije nađena značajna razlika (p ≥ 0,05) između klijavosti na temperaturi 30 i 25 °C. Korelacionom međuzavisnošću između klijavosti i porasta stabaoceta utvrđena je pozitivna i statistički značajna razlika (r=0,576- p ≤ 0,05), dok je između klijavosti i porasta korenka utvrđena takođe pozitivna međuzavisnost, ali ne i statistički značajna razlika (r=0,252- p ≥ 0,05).

Ispitivan je uticaj hemijskih desikanata na gubitak vlage zrna i semenske kvalitete suncokreta. Herbicidima Kabuki 2.5 EC (a. i. pyraflufen-ethyl, 1 l/ha), i carfentrazoneethyl, (0,4 l/ha) tretirano je 6 CMS roditeljskih linija. Prosečan sadržaj vlage zrna se kod oba tretmana nije značajno razlikovao od kontrolne varijante. Nije bilo vidljivih znakova sušenja drugih biljnih organa u odnosu na kontrolu. Energija klijanja i klijavost semena ispitivani su 40 i 54 dana posle žetve. Nije došlo do pada semenskih kvaliteta u odnosu na kontrolu. Korišćeni herbicidi nisu pokazali zadovoljavajući efekat u desikaciji suncokreta., The influence of chemical desiccants on grain moisture loss and sunflower seed quality was investigated. 6 CMS parental lines were treated with the herbicides Kabuki 2.5 EC (a. i. pyraflufen-ethyl, 1 l/ha) and carfentrazone-ethyl (0.4 l/ha). The average grain moisture content in both treatments was not significantly different from the control variety. There were no visible signs of drying of other plant organs compared to the control. Germination energy and seed germination were examined 40 and 54 days after harvest. There was no decline in seed quality compared to the control. The used herbicides did not show a satisfactory effect in sunflower chemical desiccation.

30. Utjecaj nadmorske visine i starosti zatvorenog češera na klijanje sjemena crvenog bora (Pinus brutia Ten.)

This study investigated changes in the germination rate and germination percentage of seeds obtained from closed pine cones (Pinus brutia Ten.) of different ages collected at different altitudes. The seeds used in the study were obtained from closed cones (3/control, 4, 5, 6, and 7 years old) in the lower (0-200 m) and higher (800-1000 m) altitude zones of the Mersin-Anamur region in a section from the sea to the interior. The seeds germinated in the dark at a constant temperature of 20 °C for 28 days. At the end of the germination test, a two-way analysis of variance was performed on the germination percentage data on the 10th, 14th, and 28th days, and the interactions between altitude and cone age were found to be significant (p = 0.05). As a result of the significant interaction between the two groups, the mean separation test (Tukey test) showed that the highest germination rate was 89.0% in the control group, and the lowest was 77.5% in the 7-year-old cones. In the higher altitude zone, the highest germination rate was 74.0% and the lowest was 71.0%, obtained from 5- and 7-year-old seeds, respectively. In general, germination values in the lower altitude zone were higher than those in the higher altitude zone. However, the decrease in germination values from the control to the 7-year-old seeds was greater in the lower altitude zone than in the higher altitude zone. The study found that altitude was more effective than cone age on the germination rate and percentage., U ovom istraživanju analizirane su promjene u stopi klijavosti i postotku klijavosti sjemena iz zatvorenih češera Pinus brutia Ten. različite starosti, sakupljenih na različitim nadmorskim visinama. Sjeme korišteno u istraživanju dobiveno je iz zatvorenih češera (3/kontrola, 4, 5, 6 i 7 godina starosti) u nižim (0-200 m) i višim (800-1000 m) visinskim zonama Mersin- Anamurske regije rasprostranjenih od mora prema unutrašnjosti. Sjeme je klijalo u mraku pri konstantnoj temperaturi od 20 °C 28 dana. Na kraju testa klijavosti provedena je dvostruka analiza varijance o postotku klijavosti 10., 14. i 28. dana, te je utvrđeno da su interakcije između nadmorske visine i starosti češera značajne (p = 0,05). Kao rezultat značajne interakcije između dviju skupina, srednji test razdvajanja (Tukey test) pokazao je da je najveća klijavost bila 89,0% u kontrolnoj skupini, a najniža 77,5% u 7-godišnjim češerima. U zoni viših nadmorskih visina najveća klijavost iznosila je 74,0%, a najmanja 71,0%. Dobivena je iz sjemena starih 5 odnosno 7 godina. Općenito, vrijednosti klijavosti u zoni niže nadmorske visine bile su veće od onih u zoni više nadmorske visine. Međutim, smanjenje vrijednosti klijavosti od kontrolnog do 7-godišnjeg sjemena bilo je veće u zoni niže nadmorske visine nego u zoni više nadmorske visine. 2-metoksi-1,4-naftokinon (2-MNQ) je prirodni derivat 1,4-naftokinona koji je u dosad provedenim ispitivanjima pokazao antipruritično, protuupalno, antialergijsko, antimikrobno i antikancerogeno djelovanje. U ovom istraživanju ispitan je utjecaj 2-MNQ na klijanje sjemenki i razinu oksidacijskog stresa u klijanaca. Kao biljni model korištene su sjemenke dviju biljnih vrsta: bijele gorušice (Sinapis alba L.) i rotkvice (Raphanus sativus L.). Sjemenke su bile izložene 2-MNQ u koncentracijama 1, 5, 10, 20, 30 i 40 μg/ml kroz 3 dana. U pokus su bile uključene negativna kontrola (sjemenke izložene 3 dana destiliranoj vodi) i pozitivna kontrola (sjemenke izložene 3 dana 0,02M otopini CuSO₄). Nakon 3-dnevne izloženosti, za obje biljne vrste određena je klijavost (%) i duljina korjenčića (mm) te je u homogenatu klijanaca određena katalitička aktivnost SOD (U/ml). Podaci su statistički obrađeni pomoću jednosmjerne analize varijance (ANOVA test) te primjenom Duncan's New Multiple Range Test-a. Također, određena je korelacija između mjerenih parametara te analiza glavnih komponenti. Statistički značajnim smatrane su vrijednosti koje se razlikuju na razini p 0,05. Povećanjem koncentracije 2-MNQ opao je broj proklijalih sjemenki bijele gorušice i sukladno tome padala je duljina korjenčića, a 2-MNQ u koncentraciji 30 i 40 μg/ml u potpunosti je inhibirao klijavost sjemenki. To ukazuje da 2-MNQ inhibira klijanje sjemenki bijele gorušice. S druge strane 2-MNQ nije imao utjecaja na klijanje rotkvice. U klijanaca bijele gorušice s koncentracijom 2-MNQ rasla je aktivnost SOD-a te je najveća aktivnost SOD-a izmjerena pri koncentracijama 2-MNQ od 1 i 10 μg/ml. Iz navedenog se može zaključiti kako je biljka tada bila izložena najvećem oksidacijskom stresu te je bilo potrebno proizvesti veliku količinu SOD-a kako bi se od njega obranila i samim time omogućila sjemenkama da prokliju. Katalitička aktivnost SOD-a u rotkvici pri svim koncentracijama otopine 2-MNQ približno je bila ista te nisu uočena odstupanja. Utjecaj 2-MNQ na klijavost sjemenki je različit te ovisi i o koncentraciji 2-MNQ i o samoj biljnoj vrsti. Bijela gorušica osjetljivija je na djelovanje 2-MNQ, dok 2-MNQ u ispitivanim koncentracijama nije imao utjecaja na klijavost rotkvice. Mehanizam toksičnog učinka 2-MNQ može se povezati s oksidacijskim stresom s obzirom da je tretman s 2-MNQ doveo do promjene aktivnosti SOD-a u bijeloj gorušici. 2-metoxy-1,4-naphtoquinone (2-MNQ) is a natural derivate of 1,4-naphthoquinone which has shown antipruritic, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antimicrobial and anti-cancer effects.In this study, the influence of 2-MNQ on seed germination and the level of oxidative stress was investigated. As a plant model the seeds of two plant species were used: white mustard (Sinapis alba L.) and radish (Raphanus sativus L.). The seeds were exposed to 2-MNQ in concentrations of 1, 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40 μg/ml for 3 days. The study included a negative control (seeds exposed to distilled water for 3 days) and a positive control (seeds exposed to 0.02M CuSO₄ solution for 3 days). After a 3-day exposure, germination (%) and root length (mm) were measured, and in seedlings homogenate catalytic activity of SOD (U/ml) was determined. Data were statistically processed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA test) and Duncan's New Multiple Range Test as well as tested for correlation and Principal Component Analysis. Significance level was set at p ≤ 0.05. With the increase of 2-MNQ concentration the number of germinated seeds of white mustard decreased and 2-MNQ in concentrations of 30 and 40 μg/ml completely ceased germination of white mustard. In parallel the decrease in the length of the radicle with the increase of 2-MNQ concentration was recorded. Thus, 2-MNQ inhibits the germination of white mustard seeds. On contrary, 2-MNQ had no impact on germination of radish. In white mustard seedlings with the increase of 2-MNQ concentration the increase of SOD activity is observed, and the highest SOD activity is recorded at 2-MNQ concentrations 1 and 10 μg/ml. Therefore, it can be concluded that the plant was then exposed to the greatest oxidative stress, and it was necessary to produce a large amount of SOD in order to defend against it and at the same time enable germination. In radish seedlings the catalytic activity of SOD at all concentrations of the 2-MNQ was approximately the same, with no deviations. The impact of 2-MNQ on the seed germination is different and depends on the concentration of 2-MNQ and the plant species itself. White mustard is more sensitive to 2-MNQ, while 2-MNQ in concentrations tested had no impact on radish. The mechanism of the toxic effect of 2-MNQ can be related to oxidative stress, considering that treatment with 2-MNQ led to a change in SOD activity in white mustard.

32. Influence of Xanthomonas euvesicatoria on quality parameters of pepper seed from Serbia

The present study focused on detecting bacteria of the Xanthomonas spp. complex (X. euvesicatoria, X. vesicatoria, X. perforans and X. gardneri) and examining their influence on certain quality parameters of pepper seed collected from the territory of Smederevska Palanka (Serbia). The analysis included 27 non-commercial pepper seed genotypes (including chili and sweet pepper) collected in 2021. Several parameters of the quality of analyzed pepper seed (germination energy, total germination, moisture and seed health) were determined. The results showed that out of a total of 27 analyzed samples of pepper seed, the presence of X. euvesicatoria was detected in 13 of them. The presence of X. vesicatoria, X. gardneri and X. perforans was not confirmed. Germination energy of infected seed was 52-84%, and of bacteria-free seed 63-90%; total germination of infected seed was 66-91%, and of bacteria-free seed 80-95%. Seed moisture of infected seed samples was 6.1-12%, and of bacteria-free seed 6.2-8.1%. These parameters did not show significant statistical difference (p>0.05). The presence of seed-borne fungi Fusarium sp. accounted for up to 3% in 25 samples, while it was up to 6% in the remaining two; Alternaria sp. ranked from 1-4% in 25 samples, and up to 5% in only two samples. The results led to a conclusion that the bacterium X. euvesicatoria is the predominant pathogen of the Xanthomonas spp. complex, but it did not affect the quality parameters of the tested pepper seed. U ovom radu izvršena je detekcija bakterija iz kompleksa Xanthomonas (X. euvesicatoria, X. vesicatoria, X. perforans i X. gardneri) i ispitan uticaj prisustva bakterija na određene parametre kvaliteta semena paprike poreklom sa teritorije Smederevske Palanke (Srbija). Analiza je obuhvatila 27 nekomercijalnih genotipova semena paprike (uključujući čili i slatku papriku) prikupljenih u sezoni 2021. godine. U radu su ocenjeni parametri kvaliteta semena paprike i to energija klijanja, ukupna klijavost, vlaga i zdravstvena ispravnost. Rezultati su pokazali da je od ukupno 27 analiziranih uzoraka semena paprike, prisustvo X. euvesicatoria detektovano kod ukupno 13 uzoraka. Prisustvo X. vesicatoria, X. gardneri i X. perforans nije utvrđeno ni u jednom uzorku semena paprike. Energija klijanja zaraženog semena je iznosila od 52-84%, a kod semena bez prisustva bakterija od 63-90%; ukupna klijavost u zaraženom semenu je bila od 66-91%, a u semenu bez prisustva bakterija 80-95%. Vlažnost semena u zaraženim uzorcima je iznosila 6,1-12%, a u uzorcima bez prisustva bakterija između 6,2-8,1%. Utvrđivani parametri kvaliteta se nisu značajno razlikovali na statističkom nivou (p>0,05). Prisustvo fitopatogenih gljiva koje se prenose semenom je utvrđeno u svim uzorcima semena paprike, i to Fusarium sp. do 3% kod ukupno 25 uzoraka, dok je kod dva uzorka zaraza bila i do 6%; prisustvo Alternaria sp. je bilo od 1-4% kod ukupno 25, a kod dva uzorka više, do 5%. Dobijeni rezultati ukazuju da je bakterija X. euvesicatoria dominantan patogen iz kompleksa Xanthomonas vrsta, ali da utvrđeno prisustvo nije značajno uticalo na parametre kvaliteta semena paprike

Cilj istraživanja bio je utvrditi alelopatski potencijal lucerne (Medicago sativa L.) na klijavost sjemena i rast klijanaca rotkvice (Raphanus sativus L.), radiča (Cichorium intybus L. var. foliosum) i rajčice (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.). Vodeni ekstrakti pripremljeni od suhe nadzemne mase lucerne u tri koncentracije (1 %, 2,5 % i 5 %) testirani su u laboratorijskim uvjetima. Alelopatski potencijal lucerne ovisio je o test vrsti, koncentraciji vodenog ekstrakta te mjerenom parametru. Najslabije djelovanje zabilježeno je na klijavost te rast klijanaca rajčice. Povećanjem koncentracije vodenog ekstrakta povećavao se i negativni alelopatski potencijal. Najmanji utjecaj vodenih ekstrakata zabilježen je na suhu masu klijanaca test vrsta., The aim of the study was to determine the allelopathic potential of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) on seed germination and seedling growth of radish (Raphanus sativus L.), radicchio (Cichorium intybus L. var. foliosum) and tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.). Water extracts prepared from dry alfalfa biomass in three concentrations (1%, 2.5% and 5%) were tested under laboratory conditions. The allelopathic potential of alfalfa depended on the test species, the water extract concentration, and the measured parameter. The weakest effect was recorded on germination and growth of tomato seedlings. As the concentration of the water extract increased, the negative allelopathic potential also increased. Dry weight of seedlings of test species was the least affected.

36. Effect of priming on soybean seed germination parameters.

The objective of this study was to examine the effect of primers on seed quality parameters using different starting values of germination. For this purpose, ten soybean lines selected at the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, Novi Sad were evaluated. The starting values of germination ranged between 48% and 89%. Seeds were surface sterilized with 3% sodium hypochlorite and immersed in different primers: 1% potassium nitrate, 1% potassium chloride and 1% hydrogen peroxide. Untreated seeds were used as the control. The obtained results revealed that the effects of priming depended on soybean line and treatment, whereas the efficiency of this pre-sowing treatment was not affected by the starting value of seed germination. Some lines responded favorably to immersion, while in others priming had an inhibitory effect, causing a significant decrease in germination. There was an increase in germination up to 12% or a decrease up to 11%, depending on line and treatment. Lines that were positively affected by this method also exhibited increased values for other germination parameters: mean germination time (MGT) and time to 50% germination (T50). Lower values of MGT and T50 were observed in lines which showed a negative response to priming and a decrease in germination, but also a more rapid radicle protrusion, as compared to the control. In conclusion, there is no universal applicability of one single primer as it might cause a negative response in some lines and thus reduce seed quality. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je da se ispita efekat prajmera na parametre kvaliteta semena pri različitim početnim vrednostima klijavosti. Za istraživanje je korišćeno seme deset linija soje koje su selekcionisane na Institutu za ratarstvo i povrtarstvo u Novom Sadu. Početna vrednost klijavosti semena linija kretala se od 48% do 89%. Seme je površinski sterilisano 3% rastvorom natrijumhipohlorita, a onda je potapano u različite prajmere: kalijum-nitrat 1%, kalijumhlorid 1%, vodonik-peroksid 1% i kontrola - netretirano seme. Rezultati su pokazali da efekat prajmiranja zavisi od linije i tretmana, a da početna vrednost klijavosti semena ne utiče na efikasnost ove predsetvene mere. Neke linije su veoma dobro reagovale na potapanje, dok je kod drugih došlo do inhibitornog delovanja, pa se vrednost klijavosti značajno smanjila. Povećanje klijavosti se kretalo, u zavisnosti od linija i tretmana, do 12%, a smanjenje do 11%. Kod linija gde je primenom ove mere ostvaren pozitivan efekat, povećane su vrednosti i ostalih parametara klijanja: srednje vreme klijanja (MGT) i vreme do 50% klijavosti (T50). Linije koje su negativno reagovale na prajmiranje i kod kojih je klijavost smanjena imale su niže vrednosti MGT i T50, ali i bržu pojavu klicinog korenčića u odnosu na kontrolnu varijantu. Dobijeni rezultati ukazuju na to da se ne može govoriti o univerzalnoj primeni jednog prajmera, jer se može dogoditi da on ne odgovara određenoj liniji, pa može doći do pogoršanja kvaliteta semena. Seed as a highly-valuable resource is preserved in collections for many years. Although the seed is kept under optimal conditions, monitoring of germination and the presence of fungi during seed preservation is of great importance. Therefore the aim of this paper is to examine the seed health status and germination of 43 onion accessions kept in the timespan for 15 years in the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops collection. Germination of seed samples varied from 7-93%. The presence of fungi in the collection was determined on 33 tested samples. Fungi from the genera Acremonium, Alternaria, Aspergillus, Cladosporium, Epicoccum, Fusarium and Penicillium were developed. The following Fusarium species identified on the seeds were F. proliferatum, F. graminearum, F. sporotrichioides, F. solani, F. pseudograminearum and F. equiseti. Based on factor analysis, Fusarium and Penicillium affected germination, while the occurrence of Alternaria species on onion seed is connected to the year of harvest., Seme je veoma važan resurs koji se čuva u kolekciji u višegodišnjem periodu. Iako se seme skladišti u optimalnim uslovima, veoma je važno pratiti klijavost i njegovo zdravstveno stanje. Cilj ovog rada je da se ispita zdravstveno stanje i klijavost četrdeset tri uzorka semena crnog luka, koji su čuvani u kolekciji Instituta za ratarstvo i povrtarstvo 1–15 godina. Klijavost crnog luka varirala je u opsegu 7–93%. Na trideset tri uzorka je identifikovano prisustvo gljiva iz sedam rodova: Acremonium, Alternaria, Aspergillus, Cladosporium, Epicoccum, Fusarium i Penicillium. U okviru roda Fusarium utvrđeno je prisustvo vrsta F. proliferatum, F. graminearum, F. sporotrichioides, F. solani, F. pseudograminearum i F. equiseti. Na osnovu faktorske analize vrste koje su uticale na klijavost su Fusarium i Penicillium, dok je pojava vrsta iz roda Alternaria povezana sa godinom ubiranja semena.

Krastavac (Cucumis sativus L.) je među najstarijim gajenimpovrtarskim vrstama u zemljama širom sveta. Cilj ovog rada je praćenjeparametra kvaliteta semena u trogodišnjem periodu, ali i uticaja prisustvafitopatogenih gljiva na ukupnu klijavost. Odabrane su tri sorte krastavca:Dugi zeleni, Pariski kornišon i Sprinter čiji kvalitet je analiziran u tokuskladištenja, u periodu 2018-2020. godine. Najbolji kvalitet semenautvrđen je kod sorte Sprinter gde je klijavost >95%, kod kojeg je izostaloprisustvo fitopatogene gljive Fusarium spp. Najveći procenat Fusariumspp. detektovan je kod Dugog zelenog, gde je ukupna klijavost bilasmanjena, s obzirom da negativno utiče na ovaj parametar kvaliteta.Buduća istraživanja će biti fokusirana na primenu biopreparata, kaopotencijalne zaštite semena u toku skladištenja., Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is among the oldest cultivatedvegetable species in countries around the world. The aim of this work isto monitor quality parameters over a three-year period, as well as theeffects of phytopathogenic fungi on overall germination. Three varieties of cucumber were chosen for the study: Dugi zeleni, Pariski kornišon andSprinter, whose quality was analyzed during storage, in the period 2018-2020. The best quality was obtained with the Sprinter variety rate ofgermination > 95%, where the presence of the phytopathogenic fungus Fusarium spp. was absent, since it negatively affects this qualityparameter. The highest percentage of Fusarium spp. was detected inDuga Bela, where overall germination was reduced. Future research will be focused on the application of biopreparations, as a potential seed protection during storage.

Cilj rada bio je da se ispita da li potapanje semena može da poboljša klijavost semena soje u nepovoljnim uslovima, odnosno na nižoj temperaturi. Za istraživanje je korišćeno seme sorte soje NS Apolo, koja je selekcionisana na Institutu za ratarstvo i povrtarstvo u Novom Sadu. Seme je potapano u različite rastvore: kalijum nitrat - KNO3 (1%), askorbinska kiselina - AsA (100 mg l-1) i kalijum hlorid - KCl (1%). Nakon sušenja, seme je naklijavano na temperaturi 10°C, dok je seme naklijavano na optimalnoj temperaturi od 25°C poslužilo kao kontrola. Rezultati istraživanja su pokazali da je potapanje semena pre setve poboljšalo energiju klijanja, klijavost semena i brzinu klijanja u uslovima niske temperature. Upotreba rastvora KNO3 i AsA bila je efekasnija od primene rastvora KCl u uslovima niže temperature. Rastvor KNO3 i AsA su značajnije uticali na povećanje klijavosti i energije klijanja., The aim of this study was to examine whether priming seeds can improve the germination of soybean seeds in unfavorable conditions, i.e. at a lower temperature. For the research, the seeds of the NS Apolo soybean variety, which were selected at the Institute of Agriculture and Vegetables in Novi Sad, were used. The seeds were primed in different solutions: potassium nitrate - KNO3 (1%), ascorbic acid - AsA (100 mg l- 1) and potassium chloride - KCl (1%). After drying, the seeds were germinated at a temperature of 10°C, while the seeds germinated at an optimal temperature of 25°C served as a control. The research results showed that priming the seeds before sowing improved germination energy, seed germination and germination rate under low temperature conditions. The use of KNO3 and AsA solution was more effective than the use of KCl solution under lower temperature conditions. The solution of KNO3 and AsA significantly influenced the increase in germination and germination energy.

Climate changes inevitably affect plant production, but it is difficult to predict their direct impact on a vitality (germination) of a produced seed. Germination is the most important indicator of seed vitality and a key stage in the life cycle of plants. Seed germination is significantly affected by environmental factors during the growing season, as well as the method of processing (according to seed size). The aim of this work was to determine the impact of three factors on seed germination of four sunflower inbred lines: i) genotype, ii) environment conditions in a production year, and iii) seed size obtained during processing. The germination was examined in a standard laboratory test by ISTA Rules, six months after the processing and natural breaking of dormancy. Larger and smaller sizes seeds, obtained in two consecutive years, which were characterized by different environmental conditions (sum of precipitation, mean monthly temperatures and air humidity during flowering), were used. Collected data was analyzed using a three-way analysis of variance, and correlation analysis. The coefficient of variation was 8.19%. Significantly higher average seed germination was obtained during 2020 (92%,) compared to 2021 (85%). The effect of seed size was not statistically significant, regardless of the tested inbred line. It can be concluded that the increase in the seed germination of sunflower inbred lines is mainly influenced by genotype, but also the increase in precipitation, minimum and maximum air humidity during flowering and the decrease in mean monthly temperatures, which was confirmed by the correlation coefficients between the above agroecological conditions and the germination rate of the produced seeds. / Klimatske promene neizbežno utiču na biljnu proizvodnju, ali je teško predvideti direktan uticaj na vitalnost (klijavost) proizvedenog semena. Klijanje je najznačajniji pokazatelj vitalnosti semena i ključna faza u životnom ciklusu biljaka. Klijavost seme, Klimatske promene neizbežno utiču na biljnu proizvodnju, ali je teško predvideti direktan uticaj na vitalnost (klijavost) proizvedenog semena. Klijanje je najznačajniji pokazatelj vitalnosti semena i ključna faza u životnom ciklusu biljaka. Klijavost semena je pod uticajem faktora spoljašnje sredine tokom vegetacije, ali i načina dorade (prema krupnoći semena). Cilj rada je bio da se ispita uticaj tri faktora na klijavost proizvedenog semena inbred linija suncokreta i to: i) genotip, ii) klimatski uslovi u proizvodnoj godini, i iii) krupnoća semena dobijena tokom separacije semena prilikom dorade. Klijavost semena četiri inbred linije suncokreta je ispitana standardnim laboratoriskim testovima po ISTA pravilima, šest meseci nakon dorade i prolaska dormantnosti prirodnim putem. Korišćena su semena krupnije i sitnije veličine, dobijena u dve uzastopne godine, koje su karakterisali različit klimatski uslovi (suma padavina, srednje mesečne temperature i vlažnost vazduha tokom oplodnje). Podaci su analizirani trofaktorijalnom analizom varijanse, kao i koficijentom korelacije. Koeficijent varijacije iznosio je 8,19%. Prosečna klijavost semena je bila značajno viša u 2020. godini (92%) u odnosu na 2021. godinu (85%). Efekat veličine semena nije bio statistički značajan, bez obzira na testiranu inbred liniju. Može se zaključiti da na povećanje klijavosti semena inbred linija suncokreta najviše utiču genotip, ali i povećanje padavina, minimalna i maksimalna vlažnost vazduha tokom cvetanja i smanjenje srednjih mesečnih temperatura, što je potvrđeno i koeficijenti korelacije između navedenih agroekoloških uslova i klijavosti proizvedenog semena.

Mirođija (Anethum graveolens L.) je jednogodišnja začinska i lekovita biljka iz familije Apiaceae. Visoka energija klijanja i procenat klijavosti su potrebni za postizanje visokog prinosa. Cilj ovog istraživanja je bio utvrđivanje najefikasnijeg biopreparata sa blagotvornim dejstvom na energiju klijanja, ukupnu klijavost i zdravstveno stanje semena mirođije. Ispitivanja su sprovedena sa dva sredstva za zaštitu bilja, dozvoljena u organskoj proizvodnji (‟Extrasol F” i ‟Polyversum”) i tri biljna preparata (‟Fermentisani ekstrakt hajdučke trave”, ‟Fermentisani ekstrakt čička” i ‟Fermentisana mešavina LAB mix”). Klijavost semena je povećana u svim tretmanima u odnosu na kontrolu. Tretmani preparatom ‟Fermentisana mešavina LAB mix” ispoljili su najveći uticaj na energiju klijanja i ukupnu klijavost semena. Na osnovu simptoma i znakova bolesti, prisustvo Alternaria sp. je potvrđeno na površini semena mirođije. U poređenju sa kontrolom, zaraza semena je smanjena u tretmanima sa preparatima ‟Fermentisana mešavina LAB mix” i ‟Fermentisani ekstrakt čička”., Dill (Anethum graveolens L.) is an annual herb and medicinal plant from the Apiaceae family. High energy germination and germination percentage are required to achieve high yield. The aim of the study was to discover the most efficient biopreparations with a beneficial effect on dill seed energy germination, total germination and seed health. Testing was conducted with two plant protection products, permitted in organic production (‟Extrasol F” and ‟Polyversum”), and three herbal preparations (‟Fermented extract of yarrow”, ‟Fermented burdock extract” and ‟Fermented LAB mix”). The seed germination was increased in all treatments, in comparison to control. The treatments with the preparation ‟Fermented LAB mix” manifested the greatest influence on energy germination and total seed germination. Based on the symptoms and signs of the disease, the presence of Alternaria sp. was confirmed on the surface of dill seeds. The seed infection was reduced in treatments with ‟Fermented LAB mix” and ‟Fermented Burdock Extract” compared to the control treatment.

Testovi sa semenom i sadnicama, u kojima se upoznaje genetski potencijal selekcionisanih provenijencija, po pravilu, su među prvim ogledima u složenom sistemu komparativnih ispitivanja koja se sprovode pri introdukciji stranih vrsta drveća. U ovom radu su prikazani rezultati ispitivanja klijavosti i energije klijanja semena 14 provenijencija duglazije iz Kanade, koje se nalaze od 49° 10' do 51° 35' severne geografske širine i na nadmorskoj visini od 600 do 1070 m. Poznavanje promenljivosti ispitivanih parametara kvaliteta semena od značaja je za upoznavanje geneteskog potencijala selekcionisanih provenijencija, kao jednog od parametara bitnog za introdukciju duglazije na odgovarajuća staništa u Srbiji.

Cilj rada bio je odrediti utjecaj hidrolata na inhibiciju klijanja sjemena invazivne korovne vrste, običnog dvozuba (Bidens tripartita L.). Istraživanje je provedeno u kontroliranim laboratorijskim uvjetima. U svrhu istraživanja korišteni su hidrolati lavande (Lavandula angustifolia) i smilja (Helichrysum italicum) pomiješani s destiliranom vodom u različitim omjerima (1:1), (1:4) i (1:8). Klijavost je provjerena nakon 4. i 6. dana od postavljanja pokusa. Najbolji inhibicijski utjecaj na klijanje sjemena običnog dvozuba imala je otopina hidrolata lavande u omjeru 1:1. Nakon 4. dana postotak klijavosti iznosio je 1.20%, a nakon 6. dana 8.20%. Dobiveni rezultati u laboratorijskim uvjetima sugeriraju mogućnost korištenja hidrolata lavande kao bioherbicida. Međutim, za potvrdu ovih rezultata potrebno je obaviti i terenska istraživanja. The aim of the work was to determine the influence of hydrolates on the inhibition off seed germination of the invasive weed species Three-lobed Beggarticks (Bidens tripartita L.). The research was performed in controlled laboratory conditions. Hydrolates of lavander (Lavandula angustifolia) and immortelle (Helichrysum italicum) mixed with distilled water in different proportions were used for the purpose of research work. Germination of seeds took place under sterile, laboratory conditions. Seeds were placed in Petri dishes on filter paper. For the purpose of research, 5 control Petri dishes (seed soaked in distilled water) were placed, 5 Petri dishes each for hydrolates of lavander and immortelle with their dilutions in the ratios (1:1), (1:4) and (1:8). The best inhibitory effect on the seed germination of Three-lobed Beggarticks was the lavander hydrolate solution in a ratio of 1:1. After the 4th day, the percentage of germination was 1.20%, and after the 6th day, 8.20%. The results obtained in laboratory conditions suggest the possibility of using lavander hydrolate as a bioherbicide. However, to confirm these results, it is necessary to carry out field research.

Muškatna kadulja je dvogodišnja ljekovita i aromatična biljka iz porodice Lamiaceae. Eterično ulje se koristi u prehrambenoj i farmaceutskoj industriji, aromaterapiji i tradicionalnoj medicini. Ima antioksidativno, antimikrobno i citotoksično djelovanje. U Kolekciji ljekovitog i aromatičnog bilja Zavoda za sjemenarstvo Sveučilišta u Zagrebu Agronomskog fakulteta čuva se sjeme primki muškatne kadulje s različitih lokacija Republike Hrvatske, kao i onih iz drugih dijelova Europe, a neke su stare preko 20 godina. S obzirom na starost sjemena, u ovom je radu ispitivana klijavost i energija klijanja sjemena. U istraživanju je korišteno sjeme 32 primke muškatne kadulje iz Kolekcije ljekovitog i aromatičnog bilja. Na kraju provedenog istraživanja izračunata je klijavost (G, %) i prosječno vrijeme klijanja (MGT, dan). Najveći postotak klijavosti utvrđen je kod primki 2386 (94 %) s Dugog Otoka i 2393 (90 %) iz Tribunja koje se čuvaju od 2009. godine, zatim primki 2202 (76 %) s Korčule, 2205 (70 %) s Brača, 2201 (68 %) s Korčule, 2199 (68 %) sa Šolte, 2219 (62 %) s Dugog otoka i 2198 (62 %) sa Šolte koje se čuvaju od 2008. godine. Ostale primke imale su klijavost oko 50 % ili manje od toga. Na temelju provedenog istraživanja utvrđeno je da sjeme muškatne kadulje ima vrlo dobru klijavost što znači da dobro podnosi čuvanje, odnosno da je čuvano u dobrim uvjetima te se regeneracije u bankama biljnih gena ne trebaju često provoditi. Clary sage (Salvia sclarea L.) is a biannual aromatic plant of the Lamiaceae family. The essential oil is used in the food and pharmaceutical industries, aromatherapy and traditional medicine. It has antioxidant, antimicrobial and cytotoxic effects. In the Collection of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants of the Department of Seed Science, University of Zagreb Faculty of Agriculture, seeds of clary sage from various locations in the Republic of Croatia and Europe are kept, some of which are over 20 years old. Given the age of the seeds, the germination capacity and germination energy were determined. In the research seed of 32 accessions of clary sage from the Collection of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants was used. At the end of the research, germination (G, %) and mean germination time (MGT, day) were calculated. The highest percentage of germination was observed in accessions 2386 (94 %) from Dugi otok and 2393 (90 %) from Tribunj, which have been conserved since 2009, then 2202 (76 %) from Korčula, 2205 (70 %) from Brač, 2201 (68 %) from Korčula, 2199 (62 %) from Šolta, 2219 (62 %) from Dugi otok and 2198 (62 %) from Šolta conserved since 2008. Other accessions had germination rates of about 50 % or less. Based on the research carried out, it was conducted that clary sage seeds have very good germination, which means that they tolerate storage very well, that they have been stored in good conditions and that regeneration in plant gene banks should not be carried out often.

Neven (Calendula officinalis L.) je poznat po svojim ljekovitim svojstvima kao i primjeni u medicinskoj, kemijskoj, kozmetičkoj i prehrambenoj industriji. Prilagođen je umjerenoj klimi te mu je optimalna temperatura klijanja 20 °C. Klijanje sjemena i rani rast sadnica su najosjetljiviji stadiji na abiotske stresove, kao što su nepovoljna temperatura i suša, a predsjetveni tretmani sjemena pozitivno utječu na svojstva klijavosti ili kvalitetu sjemena i sadnica u stresnim uvjetima. S obzirom da se sjetva nevena obavlja čim se uspostave minimalni uvjeti, a tada temperature i količine oborina mogu biti znatno niže od optimalnih, cilj ovog istraživanja bio je utvrditi utjecaj predtretmana na svojstva klijavosti sjemena nevena u uvjetima niskih temperatura i suše (-0,8 MPa PEG 6000). Laboratorijskim pokusom istražen je utjecaj temperature (14 °C, 18 °C i 22 °C) na klijavost sjemena nevena uz predtretmane dH2O i GA3 (250 ppm) u trajanju od 24 h. Netretirano sjeme je predstavljalo kontrolu. Utvrđeno je da sjeme nevena ne klije u uvjetima suše bez obzira na predsjetveni tretman i na temperaturu pri kojoj je klijalo. Ni temperatura niti predtretman sjemena ne utječu značajno na broj proklijalih sjemenki nevena, ali utječu na brzinu klijanja.

In this study the confectionery sunflower seed was tested to germination at different pH media, from 3.5 to 8.5. The experiment was set up at room temperature (22°C) and at 24 h dark conditions for 10 days. The mean germination rate was 76%. The highest germination rate was 86% at pH 3.5, whereas the lowest was 68% at pH 5.5. The ANOVA resulted with very significant influence of pH on sunflower seedlings root, stem and total length (p, Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je utvrditi klijavost proteinskog tipa suncokreta na različitim pH vrijednostima (3,5 - 8,5). The aim of this paper was to examine the influence of the electrostatic field on seeds of soybean (Glycine max L), vetch (Vicia spp. L.), pea (Pisum sativum L.), grass pea (Lathyrus sativus L.) and chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) which were selected at the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad. The DC voltage of 9V was used. The durations of seed treatment were 0 (control), 1, 2 and 3 minutes. The trial was set up as a randomized block design with four replications. 4x100 seeds of each variant and control (untreated seed) were treated. After treatment, seed quality was examined using a germination test (optimal temperature) and a cold test (low temperature). The results of the study showed that the effect of the electrostatic field on seed quality depended on the plant species, the time of seed treatment and the temperature conditions in which the seed germinated after treatment. The increase in germination energy ranged up to 18.18% in vetch, and a decrease of up to 12% was observed in chickpea. The application of the electrostatic field had a significantly greater impact on seeds that were exposed to low temperatures in the germination process after treatment. The increase in seed germination ranged up to 82.35% in chickpeas, and the decrease amounted to 92.68% in peas. In addition, the obtained results indicate that it is not possible to talk about the universal application of a certain duration of seed treatment. Cilj rada je bio ispitivanje uticaja elektrostatičkog polja na seme soje (Glycine max L.), grahorice (Vicia spp. L.), graška (Pisum sativum L.), sastrice (Lathyrus sativus L.) i nauta (Cicer arietinum L.) koji su selekcionisani na Institutu za ratarstvo i povrtarstvo u Novom Sadu. Za tretiranje je korišćen jednosmerni napon jačine 9 V. Vreme tretiranja semena iznosilo je 0 (kontrola), 1, 2 i 3 minuta. Nakon tretiranja, ispitan je kvalitet semena primenom standardnog testa klijavosti (optimalna temperatura) i hladnog testa (niska temperatura). Rezultati istraživanja su pokazali da je efekat elektrostatičkog polja na kvalitet semena zavisio od biljne vrste, vremena tretiranja semena i temperaturnih uslova u kojima je seme klijalo nakon tretiranja. Povećanje energije klijanja se kretalo do 18,18% kod grahorice, a smanjenje do 12% kod nauta. Značajno veći uticaj primena elektrostatičkog polja imala je na semenu koje je posle tretiranja izloženo niskoj temperaturi u procesu klijanja. Povećanje klijavosti semena se kretalo do 82,35% kod nauta, a smanjenje do 92,68% kod graška. Takođe, dobijeni rezultati ukazuju na to da se ne može govoriti o univerzalnoj primeni određenog vremena tretiranja, jer se može dogoditi da ono ne odgovara određenoj biljnoj vrsti, pa može doći do pogoršanja kvaliteta semena.

Information regarding the adaptation of maize (Zea mays L.) inbred lines to various field conditions and seed longevity is essential for seed companies. The objective of this work was to evaluate different vigour tests for detecting differences among naturally aged seeds and to assess the relationship between seed quality parameters and pedigree data of maize inbred lines. A seed of 15 maize inbred lines, selected at Maize Research Institute Zemun Polje, belonging to different heterotic groups was produced during 2011. Seed quality was assessed in 2015 by standard ger mination, radical emergence, accelerated ageing, and cold test. Root length of 4-day old seedlings was measured in all applied tests. Analysis of variance showed that genotype and storage condi tions had a significant effect on all seed quality parameters. Large variation among inbred lines was detected in seed vigour determined by three tests, in particular by the accelerated ageing test. Cold test results showed very good chilling tolerance of tested genotypes, except two inbred lines with Lancaster background. The correlation between the cold test and the accelerated ageing test was significant, while the radical emergence test had a poor correlation with them. Obtained results indicate that the application of either cold test or accelerated ageing test is reliable for screening seed vigour of maize inbred lines.
