Background: In this work, a probabilistic method is implemented to estimate the life expectancy of men and women by age; the Double GAP or Double Gap method. The application to the case of Argentina attempts to provide information on the phenomenon of population aging and its relationship with the pension system. Objective: Present estimates and projections of the life expectancy of men and women by age obtained through a probabilistic method that considers the differential by sex. Material and methods: The Double GAP or Double Gap method is estimated, and then the life expectancies at 60 and 65 years are selected (for women and men respectively), given that these are the retirement ages in Argentina and are present the forecasts and their corresponding confidence intervals. Results: The forecasts of the Double Gap model indicate that life expectancy in Argentina at both 60 and 65 years of age will grow slightly until 2025. For women it increases by half a year, while for men the growth in hope is slightly higher. The latter also shows a slow trend towards a convergence between male and female life expectancies. Conclusions: It is evident that Argentina is far from registering a record in life expectancy worldwide for these ages, because the life expectancy forecasts generated by the Double Gap model for the country are very far from the trend of good practices (series of maximums in life expectancy). El presente trabajo intenta explorar, en la sociedad capitalista, las relaciones laborales y el convulso plano emotivo al que es arrojado/a el/la trabajador/a al llegar el momento jubilatorio. Se indagan los conceptos de pobreza y alienación en teorías y entrevistas a docentes jubiladas. Se analizan experiencias de exclusión de las dinámicas sociales y profesionales que conformaron sus vidas y el despojo de la valía e identidad productiva gestada desde el discurso hegemónico. Solo la modificación de esta lógica de producción como matriz rectora puede terminar con esta estigmatización cultural.

En el artículo se analizan los contextos en los que se ejecutaron los retiros anticipados del sistema privado de pensiones, tanto el gobierno como el congreso del Perú se vieron en la necesidad de autorizarlos, para que las familias tuvieran liquidez para enfrentar los estragos causados por Covid-19. Se utilizó la estadística de serie de tiempo de retiros de los cuatro tipos de fondos del sistema privado de pensiones del periodo 2020 a setiembre 2022, la serie estadística del valor cuota de los fondos y la serie de tiempo del comportamiento de los mercados de capitales globales a fin de contextualizar el espacio temporal en los que se ejecutaron los retiros de fondos. Se utilizó para el análisis los conceptos de autocontrol y procrastinación como la medición de preferencias de tiempo y relevancia, para la ilustración del razonamiento dual el modelo binomial de opciones y el modelo de vectores autoregresivos. Los resultados arrojaron que los retiros anticipados se ejecutaron en el espacio temporal bajista en los mercados de capitales, consecuentemente los fondistas que optaron por retirar sus fondos acogiéndose a los beneficios de retiros anticipados asumieron altas tasas de descuento, recibiendo importes de retiros disminuídos en valor.

Objective: To identify and analyze how Millennials view social security. Methodology: A survey consisting of a 21-question structured questionnaire developed on the LimeSurvey® tool and sent to approximately 15 thousand people from all regions of Brazil. The respondents were selected on an open basis and according to the age group of this generation. The non-parametric Chi-Square test was performed for each question in the structured questionnaire to verify differences in the evaluation of the control variables. Results: Contrary to the analyzed study bases, most Brazilian Millennials in the survey think or are concerned about their retirement. One hypothesis based on the research findings is that Millennials are concerned about their retirements and believe that achieving a secure retirement will be a very complicated task in the future. Despite the low number of supplementary pensions among Millennials, most claim to have a high level of interest in it, and contribute to the literature on the subject. Study contributions: In addition to furthering the understanding of how Millennials deal with social security, this study can contribute to the development of public policies aimed at educating young people on social security. Se realizó un estudio cualitativo con diseño exploratorio para describir los efectos del programa de filmoeducación en el fomento de la sensibilización y la empatía social en personas jubiladas de Guadalajara, México. Participaron 16 personas (14 mujeres, dos hombres) con promedio de edad de 67 años y 10 años como jubilados. El programa cinematográfico incluyó 22 películas y se implementó por seis meses continuos en sesiones semanales. Todas las películas estuvieron protagonizadas por actores mayores. Los datos se recolectaron con la técnica de cine-debate y se analizaron bajo el fundamento de la fenomenología. A través del programa de filmoeducación los participantes se humanizaron sobre la situación de desventaja social y sobre las carencias que enfrentan los adultos mayores de su entorno, quienes no tienen derecho a jubilarse, identificaron sus propios obstáculos para una participación social más amplia y comprendieron las problemáticas de las personas resistentes al retiro laboral y de las que han sido forzadas a jubilarse. Se concluye que el programa de filmoeducación tuvo un efecto positivo en el fomento de la sensibilidad y empatía social en estas personas jubiladas.

This research presents an internal Corporate Social Responsibility plan in Mediaset España for those employees who are close to retirement. It is an innovative project proposal that aims to obtain benefits for employees, the organization, and society. Firstly, through the plan, the company is committed to accompanying and caring for employees in the final stage of their working life, providing them with economic and financial advice and advice on their physical and emotional well-being so that they are ready for succesfully transitioning into their new stage of life: retirement. Contrariamente al significado etimológico de la palabra, la jubilación no siempre representa un periodo de alegría. Hasta una tercera parte de los trabajadores encuentran dificultades para adaptarse a esta nueva situación. La profesión y los antecedentes laborales, el grado de identificación y satisfacción con las tareas desarrolladas, así como una adecuada anticipación y expectativas de futuro condicionarán el éxito en el tránsito a la nueva situación, así como el pleno disfrute de la nueva etapa. This article addresses the current situation of the academic staff in Mexican public universities, using the case of the uam as a reference. On the 50th anniversary of the opening of what were at the time the new universities, a cycle is completed anticipating the eminent replacement of a majority of its staff, which requires a clear renewal policy. In this sense, an analysis is carried out that puts in context a series of urgent and necessary actions to guide the future of a community made up of a majority of elder professors. The article calls to carry out a process of "self-evaluation" that opens the way towards the exercise of a renewing and revolutionary role of those interested to live a retirement period that honors its career. Retirement is a long and complex process, and its investigation at different stages of life responds to gaps in the understanding of this experience. The objective of this study was to test a theoretical model of five factors of the meanings of retirement for active workers, as well as verify the relationship between the dimensions and some demographic variables. 145 workers with an average age of 41 years participated, mostly residents of the state of Minas Gerais, responding to a sociodemographic questionnaire and a discursive question about the meaning of retirement. The descending hierarchical classification analyzes carried out using the Iramuteq software pointed to two classes of words. Although the two classes represented three of the theoretical dimensions of the proposed model, an association of respondents with positive or negative meanings was observed, which were related to education and knowledge about the salary loss resulting from the participants' retirement, with negative meanings predominating in the sample. The aim of this research is to analyze the proposed actions suggested by healthcare personnel in Catalonia to retain expertise and tackle the loss of talent due to retirement in the healthcare sector. Eight focus groups (68 healthcare professionals) were conducted and received an interpretational analysis following the assumptions of Grounded Theory. The results show the existence of two categories in the strategic management of talent in healthcare that, through a set of actions, provide solutions to avoid the loss of current and future healthcare personnel. The first category, Strategic Actions, refers to the necessary actions to understand the current context, the needs of society and healthcare professionals. The second category, Organizational Solutions, emphasizes actions aimed at attracting, integrating, evaluating, developing, and recognizing the talent of the individuals who configure the institutions. Accelerated population ageing in Algeria threatens the financial sustainability of its pay‐as‐you‐go retirement system. Reform is a necessity, with options ranging from simple parametric reforms to important systemic changes. Prior to undertaking systemic reforms, it is worthwhile to investigate whether parametric reforms can place the system on a financially sustainable footing. In this article, we used a multi‐scenario analysis that crosses the possible reform actions with possible socioeconomic scenarios. The results show that when using the most favourable scenarios, the financial balance of the Algerian system will remain negative in the short and long term. Implementing major parametric reforms can only help reduce the deficit and make it stable over time. Thereafter, systemic reforms will have to be implemented. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study analyses the expected changes in survivors' pensions resulting from the permanent rules of the 2019 pension reform in Brazil. Actuarial annuities are used for representative worker profiles. The dispersion in the replacement rate values decreases, except for the highest income level. The rates needed to finance survivors' pensions decrease relatively more than do the rates for old‐age pensions. The internal rates of return significantly decrease. There is a heterogeneous change in the distributive aspects of the pension system. The reform shall affect the adequacy and intragenerational equity of old‐age and survivors' pensions. Resumen: El objeto de este estudio es medir el impacto de los acontecimientos del ciclo vital sobre el ahorro acumulado para la jubilación en un sistema de previsión social con cuentas individuales de ahorro obligatorias. Se presenta un conjunto de ecuaciones correlacionadas que incorporan el comportamiento laboral, las decisiones de cartera y ahorro, las preferencias de riesgo y las características familiares y de salud, utilizando datos de un experimento chileno emblemático. Los resultados indican que una mujer situada en el centro de la distribución de la riqueza, casada y con dos hijos, que sufre un problema de salud en los diez últimos años de su vida laboral, acumula menos riqueza que una persona homóloga con un buen historial de salud. The place of residence is conditioned by multiple factors, namely proximity to the place of work, which is of considerable importance. The moment of retirement can be an opportunity to change this location, particularly if the contexts of that residence are perceived as less favorable to aging. Starting from the question "After the reform, do you plan to continue living in the same location?", this article aims to identify the intention of adults between 55 and 64 years old (n=161) living in urban and rural contexts in the interior of Portugal to keep or change residence. The results reveal significant differences, with residents in rural areas, with a higher incidence among those still working, expressing a greater willingness to change location and residents in urban areas wanting to keep their place of residence. Less availability of services and greater difficulty in accessing, particularly health care, seem to explain the different trend of future residence of residents in rural areas. The evaluation of the state of health in the last five years is also more negative among those who live in rural areas and those who express an intention to change location. We conclude that if the existence of work contributes to the settling of people in rural areas, health conditions and greater difficulty in accessing health services are factors for the depopulation of rural areas. This study aimed to identify possible effects of attitudes concerning to retirement and the willing to undertake. There were 162 civil servants of the labor court offices who answered a self-administered online survey with scales about the willing to undertake, losses and gains in retirement, and entrepreneurial potential. A stepwise hierarchical multiple regression model was proposed for the first model selection. Mediation tests were used to validate the following hypotheses: H1 - Perceived gains from a new start in retirement would make a positive influence on entrepreneurial intention; H2 - the perceived losses regarding to the concrete aspects of the work would make a positive influence on the entrepreneurial intention; H3 - Higher levels of opportunity for entrepreneurship predict higher levels of entrepreneurial intention and H4 - the opportunity to undertake would work as a mediating variable between the perceived gains of a new beginning and the perceived losses concerning to the concrete aspects of the work in relation to the entrepreneurial intention outcome. Statistical results were satisfactory for the sample, and therefore it validates the four hypotheses mentioned above. Positive or negative attitudes about retirement influence the intention to entrepreneur. The opportunity for entrepreneurship plays an important role to realize it. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

El objetivo de esta investigación es analizar las propuestas de acción que el personal sanitario de Cataluña plantea para retener la experticia y afrontar la pérdida de talento por jubilación en la sanidad. Se han realizado ocho grupos focales (68 profesionales sanitarios) que han recibido un análisis interpretacional, siguiendo los supuestos de la Teoría Fundamentada. Los resultados muestran la existencia de dos categorías en la gestión estratégica del talento en la sanidad que, conformadas por un conjunto de acciones, ofrecen soluciones para evitar pérdida, actual y futura, de personal sanitario. Acciones estratégicas, la primera categoría, remite a las acciones necesarias para conocer el contexto actual, las necesidades de la sociedad y de los profesionales sanitarios. Soluciones organizacionales, la segunda categoría, hace hincapié en las acciones orientadas a atraer, integrar, evaluar, desarrollar y reconocer el talento de las personas que conforman las instituciones.

El envejecimiento poblacional y el incremento de la participación laboral de las personas mayores en los mercados de trabajo es un fenómeno de relevancia a nivel mundial, investigado en los últimos años por diversas disciplinas. Este artículo sintetiza discusiones y reflexiones sobre la prolongación de la vida laboral de las personas jubiladas a través de los trabajos puente; esta noción refiere al trabajo remunerado después de la jubilación y es conocida en inglés como bridge employment. Para ello, se toma en consideración la teoría de la continuidad de Atchley, puesto que es una de las más utilizadas en la investigación sobre esta temática, la cual puso en evidencia el uso de la continuidad como una transición y adaptación para el retiro, como forma de preservar actividades significativas; con lo cual se demuestra que el trabajo en su función de centralidad le da sentido a la vida de las personas mayores que continúan trabajando.

As of 2015, Venezuelan retirees and pensioners living in Spain stopped receiving their benefits and retirement pensions. In the face of this arbitrary non-payment, the only response they have received from Venezuelan institutions has been an unwavering silence. In light of this, we propose to study institutional silence and its effects. The research takes a qualitative approach and uses the ethnographic method to gather data. The conclusions sustain that institutional silence has perpetuated any potential resolution to the dispute and has hindered the implementation of other protection mechanisms for those affected, thereby promoting associationism and social protest. The aim of this paper is to examine the historical background of old age pensions in Mexico. The text shows its origins lie in the mid-nineteenth century mutual societies and that the beginning of the pensions financial crisis is linked not only to a scarce analysis of the aging population but a minimum government commitment for protecting the worker once advanced age is reached. In addition, it is shown that the first international steps regarding the protection of old age lie in the International Labour Organization (ilo). The author studies the aging process and its impact on the career of a psychoanalyst, both as an individual and institutionally. Studies are presented demonstrating the inherent human neuro-cognitive changes in the aging process that need to be considered since they require professional ethical care of the individual in the exercise of their work and also from the psychoanalytic institution in which they are inserted, given that such changes and limitations will, at some point, determine the professional’s decision to retire. The author notes that, despite the considerable variation of limitations to the exercise of the profession arising from aging, this topic has been a taboo and needs to be confronted. Objetivo: conocer los efectos del cine-debate en casa, en los significados culturales del concepto de jubilación y en las vivencias de retiro laboral, en una familia mexicana, confinada por la pandemia de Covid-19. Metodología: estudio descriptivo exploratorio con intervención pre-experimental, evaluación pre-test, intermedia y post-test. Participaron cuatro mujeres, tres retiradas del trabajo y su nieta universitaria. El programa de intervención se integró con un ciclo de cine de ocho películas para jubilados. En el pre-test y post-test se usaron las listas libres y se analizaron a través del modelo de los dominios culturales. Para la evaluación intermedia se usó el grupo focal, sus datos obtenidos se analizaron con fundamento en la fenomenología. Resultados: las participantes ampliaron y resignificaron su significado cultural sobre el concepto de jubilación. Antes de la intervención, definieron el concepto como descanso, retiro y tranquilidad. Después de la intervención, les significó felicidad y tranquilidad. Reflexionaron sobre su propio proceso de retiro laboral y tomaron conciencia de la problemática social de la jubilación. La proyección secuencial de las películas contribuyó positivamente en los resultados obtenidos. Conclusiones: en tiempos de pandemia se puede continuar con la formación para la jubilación a través del cine-debate en casa.
