Objectives. The study aimed to evaluate the effects of sport-specific educational proposals in school-age sports, currently used in planning of sports activities, such as game-based karate training, on social interactions and improving perceptions of one’s motor skills. Materials and methods. The sample consisted of 34 children from the Comprehensive Institute “Matilde Serao” in Ortona, Chieti, attending the third classes of the Primary School, in the school year 2023/2024. The method used was based on the Karate Sport Game protocols in conjunction with the dissemination of the ethical principles inherent to the martial arts. A questionnaire was developed for the purpose of assessing the learners’ levels of satisfaction, as well as the perceptions they had about themselves and in relation to others during this training intervention. Results. In the post-implementation evaluation of the educational proposals’ results, it was shown that 94.1% of participants had a positive experience engaging in the Game-Karate activities, 82.3% reported feeling significantly supported by the Instructors during the project, and 94.1% were very satisfied with the activities. The application of the Chi-Square test revealed two significant relationships with respect to the concept of opportunity for interaction with all peers. The first pertained to the participants’ overall satisfaction with the karate instructional project (p=0.006), while the second concerned the concept of improving teamwork (p=0.006). Conclusion. The findings indicate that Karate Game had a beneficial impact on the participants’ emotional sphere, involvement, perceived improvement in motor skills, and group dynamics. In addition, the significant relationships found underscore the importance of social interaction and collaboration in the context of physical activity. These results suggest that playful and participatory approach to the training process in Karate classes can be a valuable resource for the comprehensive development of children’s personality and motor skills during the developmental age.

Every day the industrial sector is constantly advancing in the development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), which is reflected in the high participation that these companies have in the economy, since globally they represent 90 % of companies also generate between 60% and 70% of jobs and are responsible for approximately 50% of global GDP. It is for this reason that it is important to keep track of either the application of tools that help improve or their performance to meet the desired objectives. It should be noted that these institutions have a direct relationship with empirical knowledge, which is why they ignore the methods and methodologies for the development of different activities. This is why many entrepreneurs, when they are in their beginnings or in search of new horizons to revolutionize the market or the sector, do not take into account certain models or management systems and that is where they "venture into a sector without knowing what the market needs are; They do not investigate the strengths and weaknesses of their competitors, thus ignoring process problems just because the business is running; they do not use resources efficiently; They do not minimize activities that do not add value, among others. " Therefore, organizations must focus on the development of new techniques that help them optimize their processes, maintaining product quality and thus achieve lower costs through innovative high-impact methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and six sigma. IntroductionThe European Medicines Agency (EMA) offers scientific advice to support the qualification procedure of novel methodologies, such as preclinical and in vitro models, biomarkers, and pharmacometric methods, thereby endorsing their acceptability in medicine research and development (R&D). This aspect is particularly relevant to overcome the scarcity of data and the lack of validated endpoints and biomarkers in research fields characterized by small samples, such as pediatrics.AimThis study aimed to analyze the potential pediatric interest in methodologies qualified as “novel methodologies for medicine development” by the EMA.MethodsThe positive qualification opinions of novel methodologies for medicine development published on the EMA website between 2008 and 2023 were identified. Multi-level analyses were conducted to investigate data with a hierarchical structure and the effects of cluster-level variables and cluster-level variances and to evaluate their potential pediatric interest, defined as the possibility of using the novel methodology in pediatric R&D and the availability of pediatric data. The duration of the procedure, the type of methodology, the specific disease or disease area addressed, the type of applicant, and the availability of pediatric data at the time of the opinion release were also investigated.ResultsMost of the 27 qualifications for novel methodologies issued by the EMA (70%) were potentially of interest to pediatric patients, but only six of them reported pediatric data. The overall duration of qualification procedures with pediatric interest was longer than that of procedures without any pediatric interest (median time: 7 months vs. 3.5 months, respectively; p = 0.082). In parallel, qualification procedures that included pediatric data lasted for a longer period (median time: 8 months vs. 6 months, respectively; p = 0.150). Nephrology and neurology represented the main disease areas (21% and 16%, respectively), while endpoints, biomarkers, and registries represented the main types of innovative methodologies (32%, 26%, and 16%, respectively).DiscussionOur results underscore the importance of implementing innovative methodologies in regulatory-compliant pediatric research activities. Pediatric-dedicated research infrastructures providing regulatory support and strategic advice during research activities could be crucial to the design of ad hoc pediatric methodologies or to extend and validate them for pediatrics.

This study examined the impact of the Rwanda African Institute for Mathematical Science, Teacher Training Program (AIMS-TTP) on 228 secondary school students' interest to learn Mathematics and science taught by 7058-trained teachers over 5-years across 14 districts. Students were exposed to various AIMS-TTP interventions, including industrial visits, science hours, and international day for women and girls in science, mathematics competition, robotics and mathematics challenge, and the Pan African Mathematics Olympiad (PAMO). A survey research design was employed to collect data about students' interest to learn Mathematics and science, and data on students' choices of combinations were obtained from the National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) for the academic years 2017 to 2022. Data analysis using bivariate correlation and regression analyses revealed a positive and significant relationship (p<.05) between AIMS-TTP interventions and students' interest to learn Mathematics and science. Besides, linear regression model indicated that hands-on activities, exposure to mathematics and science role models, science hour and smart classroom were the best predictors of students' interest to learn mathematics and science (ß=.197, p< .05; ß=.217, p<.05; ß=.234, p< .05; and ß=.218, p<.05 respectively). They contributed 66.7 % (Adjusted, R2 = .667, p < .05) of the variance in students' interest in learning mathematics and science. The AIMS-TTP interventions significantly improved students' interest to learning mathematics and science. Recommendations include comprehensive training programs with direct student engagement, diverse competitions, and ongoing teacher support through professional development. Future research should focus on students' STEM interest in Technical, Vocational Education, and Training schools. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Schools are ideal environments to promote healthy lifestyles and teach values among students. In this sense, the present study aims to verify the result of an Active Break program (AB) within the Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility (TPSR) Model in the school environment. The sample consisted of two teachers/tutors from the sixth year of Primary Education and 51 pupils, aged between 11 and 13 years, who were divided into an experimental group (n = 26) and a control group (n = 25). The intervention program lasted 3 months, in which the hybridised methodology was applied during 100% of the weekly classes, computing a total of 156 sessions by the end of the study. It was a quasi-experimental study design that used a mixed methodology combining a systematic observational analysis with semi-structured interviews. The results showed an evolution in the behaviour of the teacher from the experimental group from a controlling style to one centred on the transfer of autonomy, while the teacher from the control group primarily used strategies based on the imposition of tasks and the establishment of organisation, which caused an increase in disruptive behaviours among students. We conclude that the program is adaptable to Primary Education and can be extended to any educational environment to improve the classroom climate and attract the attention of students and, finally, allows for the promotion of new teaching strategies. The initial training of teachers assumes great responsibility in the methodological renewal of teachers. This study aims to know the thinking of higher education students, future teachers, regarding their knowledge and attitudes towards the curricular integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), as well as to identify inhibiting and propelling factors of the use of digital technology by future teachers. This study is part of the IFITIC Project, which aims to rethink educational practice with ICT in the initial training of future teachers in order to promote methodological renewal in Pre-school Education and the 1st and 2nd Cycles of Basic Education. We used the methodological design survey and for data collection we applied a questionnaire survey, with closed questions, to students of Basic Education and Vocational Master's degree from two public higher education institutions in the North of Portugal. The results point to the existence of inhibiting factors such as lack of resources in training centers, and propellants to ICT integration such as the availability of personal resources that can compensate for the lack of resources in school centers and ICT training by training schools. They also reveal a positive and open attitude on the part of students towards the educational use of ICT. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Currently, online or hybrid teaching are increasingly in demand and have been driven by social, demographic and health factors such as that experienced during the global COVID-19 pandemic. The traditional classroom as originally was conceived has expanded both its temporal and physical limitations. This text shows how new innovative methodologies have been developed through different applications such as Wooclap or Gamification works, with the main objective of checking the perception, motivation and satisfaction of students. These are useful tools for teachers to get an easy and fast feedback from students. Two hypotheses are also presented, which will be contrasted with the analysis of the grades of the final tests of the 2019/2020 academic year and several questionnaires, with a high response ratio (88.33%), but with a small sample (60 subjects), where it has been found that the students adapt to the methods previously exposed. The main conclusion is the following: students adapt to remote teaching, they get involved in the subject and spend time learning, they are motivated to use innovative techniques, they show interest and participation in them.

Disruption and creativity are the two ideas around which we challenge and contribute to dismantling white, 'western', neoliberal hegemonic social narratives and ideologies in qualitative tourism methodologies. In tourism studies in general, and tourism geography in particular, the last decade has witnessed an emphasis on qualitative methodological research, both in terms of the topics addressed and the types of methodological tools. In many ways, this legitimisation of qualitative work mirrors developments in other areas such as human geography, sociology and anthropology. Explorations in this Special Issue contribute critical understandings of the responsibility of tourism research to be disruptive first before it can engender progress and transformation within and outside of our field. Authors debate in more depth how tourism studies can offer multidimensional, multilogical and multiemotional, methodological approaches to tourism research. This Special Issue contributors tackle the ways in which research methodologies can be creative and disruptive to the seemingly prevalent narratives within tourism studies. To further expand tourism methodologies, authors have engaged in debates about deep reflexivity, subjectivities, and dreams; messy emotions in auto-ethnographic accounts of fieldwork; 'motherhood capital' accessing Inuit communities; collective memory work in tourism research and pedagogy; ethnodrama and creative non-fiction; linguistic narrative analysis, and serious gaming, amongst others. - Abstract
Education is a key component of the student’s transformation towards the creation of a more sustainable future. Among the methodological adaptations in teaching–learning processes, Service-Learning (SL) stands out as a meaningful academic experience to respond to social needs by developing committed citizens to transform society. The aim of the present study was to analyze the impact of this SL program on prosocial competence and satisfaction levels in university students, enhance physical fitness and analyze the reflections of the recipients. Moreover, the reflections on SL of the students and the migrants were analyzed. A mixed-methods design was performed. Forty-five students of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences provided a service to a migrant group that consisted of physical fitness training. The instruments implemented were the Prosocial and Civic Competence, the Impact of Service-Learning During Initial Training of Physical Activity and Sports and the reflective diary. The Service-Learning, as educational methodology that combines learning and community service in a single project with a civic and academic base, is a really interesting option to apply in primary education and, especifically, in Physical Education, because it has an eminently practical nature, the close relationship with the system of personal, social and civic values, and because it can be linked with the especial educational needs. The aim of this work was to know and analyze the studies related to Service-Learning, Physical Education and inclusion in the primary education stage in Spain, from a systematic review of documents published in three big databases: ERIC, Dialnet and Google Scholar. The results show us a scarce baggage published around this topic, highlighting the treatment that is made of this methodology in the university environment and, to a lesser extent, projects linked to primary and Physical Education schools, which make reference to the way in which this methodology contributes to the improvement of integration processes, inclusion and attention to the diversity of the students of primary education.

The research covers the application of Information and Communication Technologies; and strategies that benefit self-learning, where the key factor is to ensure that students acquire new abilities and skills that enhance cognitive development. Its objective was to propose innovative methodologies for the application of ICTs, in the autonomous learning process. The methodology had an exploratory and / or descriptive quantitative approach. As tools, questionnaires were used for teachers, students and an interview with a professional in the Computer Science area. When consulting educators and students, the lack of use and management of ICTs was witnessed. Therefore, it is concluded that there is a deficit of knowledge in technology, which leads to the lack of application of innovative strategies by teachers, creating a barrier in the development of autonomous work in students. For this reason, the application of computer resources such as Forms, Kahoot, Mentimeter, Powtoon, Quizziz, among others, positively affect the teaching-learning process, promoting creativity and developing the capacity for self-learning and self-discipline, becoming a responsible entity, dynamic that meets the demands of the current educational environment. - Abstract
The flipped classroom methodology is considered an active learning methodology within the b-Learning method of learning. B-Learning refers to the combination of classroom work, and online work (combining Internet and digital media). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of this methodology in the subjects of physics and chemistry in secondary education and to analyse whether there are any significant differences regarding gender. A quasi-experimental study has been used with a control group and an experimental group, in a sample of sixty students who are in the third quarter of the 2017 academic year. The data has been explored through an analysis of variance (ANCOVA), taking into account academic performance (VD), gender (VI), and a covariate to control the effects produced in the VD. The results show that there are statistically significant differences between the control group and the experimental group in terms of the mean performance of students, with the experimental group obtaining the highest scores. Regarding gender, significant differences were found in both groups of students, with male scores being higher. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this context, teacher training can act as a catalyst or limit for immersion in this innovative model. In order to deepen the understanding of active methodologies and teacher training, this exploratory bibliographic, documentary and field work sought to answer the following question: What do the documents of initial teacher training, the reports of Supervised Internships and do the Science and Biology interns show us about the use of active methodologies in teacher training? The objective of this research sought to establish indications on the use of active methodologies by Science and Biology interns in elementary school, final years and high school, observing the results of two higher education institutions in the western region of the state of PR. For data constitution and analysis, Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA) was used, with three categories of analysis being constructed: I. Active methodologies as an alternative to traditional teaching, II. Active methodologies and the role of the student and the teacher in teaching and learning, III. Active methodologies in the initial training of Science and Biology teachers. Through the studies carried out, it was possible to verify that the Pedagogical Course Projects (PPC) of the two educational institutions do not address the topic of active methodologies in their content. In addition, the answers of the interns of the Degree in Biological Sciences of the year 2019 to the questionnaire indicate that they consider they have studied active methodologies at some point in the course, and the vast majority indicated that they had used these during the supervised internships of sciences. and Biology. However, the Supervised Internship reports indicate that the interns predominantly used traditional teaching, where expository classes, dialoged expository and dialogic discursive classes appeared as a highlight in the lesson plans. Regarding the use of active methodologies, the inverted classroom was the most used, followed by Group/Team Learning (TBL) and Gamification, but in a timid and punctual way. Thus, the results show us contradictions between the discourse and the practice of the trainees regarding the use of active methodologies in teaching practice, which made us infer that the training offered by the Degree courses in Biological Sciences of the two universities, in relation to the theme active methodologies, presents elements of fragility insofar as aspects of dichotomy between theory and practice appear in the analyzed data. From this, we need to move towards more significant reflections in relation to the path to be followed for the implementation of active methodologies in teaching practice, even if it is a path marked by difficulties and barriers, however, it is important to remember that obstacles and adversities are present in any innovation process and that moving forward, returning, choosing new paths and continuing the journey is part of a successful trajectory in any area As metodologias ativas se apresentam como um modelo de ensino com potencial de avançar para um currículo mais flexível e centrado no aluno, tornando-o protagonista e agente principal do seu processo de aprendizagem. Metodologias ativas e o papel do aluno e do professor no ensino e aprendizagem, III.

Creativity in education is important for the teaching-learning processes in the classroom. It is necessary to have innovative, dynamic and practical methodologies that motivate students, strengthening their skills from originality, fluency and flexibility, towards a different way of thinking in the creation of new ideas and proposals that allow their growth and emotional, affective and formative development. By being creative, you will be able to easily express your thoughts, you will be able to face the various situations that arise and you will be able to navigate a process according to your learning and your lifestyle. The traditional pedagogical models and their academic system continue to limit the free expression of the student from their formative, practical and reflective work. The lack of trends and pedagogical and didactic initiatives, make education continue at a constant pace with the same curricular and institutional schemes, without allowing an educational advance from didactic tools that promote acceptance, participation and support from the teacher, who Through dynamic and artistic activities, each student will use their intelligence, skill and imagination for a better personal and comprehensive fulfillment. This research will reveal the creative potential of first grade students of primary school through work with the plasticine technique, strengthening their manual skills, their knowledge and their free artistic expression in the school environment. Science teaching is of great importance in the educational sector, because it is through it that the individual acquires the scientific knowledge necessary for the understanding of his own life and the world around him. Thus, it is up to the teacher, as a mediator of the teaching-learning process, to propose activities that encourage the active participation of students, so that they feel motivated to learn. In this context, the present article aimed to carry out a bibliographic research on studies that demonstrate the importance of practical classes for the learning process in Science teaching. Therefore, it is a study with a qualitative approach, which sought to carry out a bibliographic research, through scientific articles and annals of scientific meetings. Among the studies, 10 works were selected that address the different conceptions of teachers and students about the importance of practical classes in Science Teaching and the difficulties that teachers face in the application of practical classes. In general, it was noticeable that practical activities are necessary for a better assimilation of theoretical content, however, it was evident that teachers need to always be in training so that innovative methodologies are well established, thus providing an excellent connection between theory and practice. Digital education readiness has been much promoted by the European Union through the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators (Redecker, 2017) and education stakeholders, whose aim is to foster the improvement of digital competences of both teachers and students within the education area. The European project QuILL – Quality in Language Learning, approved in the scope of the call ‘Strategic Partnerships for Digital Education Readiness’, embraces the challenge of providing higher education lecturers and students with digital technology-based teaching resources supporting them in their teaching and learning. With more than 360 teaching and learning resources available on the QuILL portal, the higher education (HE) lecturers are offered a plethora of open educational online resources (OER) for 18 European languages focusing on Languages for Specific Purposes (LSP). These have been tested and validated in real-case teaching scenarios allowing thus the teachers to use or adapt the resources suggested as well as the methodologies provided as guidelines. The aim of this paper is to showcase some of these resources and demonstrate how digital tools and resources account for more innovative methodologies when teaching LSP, following Arnó (2012). Moreover, we shall also focus on the project’s second Intellectual Output (IO2) which consists in the creation of an e-learning based package addressed to higher education LSP lecturers specifically aimed to guide them in innovating their language teaching methodologies through the effective use of quality digital based OER teaching sources. Three different modules comprise this package addressing the identification, use and creation of quality digital based language teaching source. We shall provide results that attest the impact and effectiveness of this e-learning based package by means of case studies on the three modules and the results of interactive tests assessing lecturers’ knowledge on the main aspects focused on in the e-learning package. info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion

In view of the need to modernize the teaching and learning process in the discipline of Human Physiology, the offer of online courses with innovative and integrative methodologies emerges as a new possibility for the training of students in the area of health and biological sciences. This research sought to develop an online course, without the presence of a teacher, with some topics of Human Physiology, offered through the MOODLE platform, aiming to increase the autonomy, motivation, learning and satisfaction of students. The dynamics of the course was carried out through an innovative approach, with the student having complete freedom of study, in addition to several tools dealing with the same subject, such as texts, vídeos, strips and tests. The target audience of the research were undergraduate and graduate students. The students had complete autonomy to choose the contents and the order of study, and they had to pass a final exam to obtain a certificate. The tests were accessed much more often than the other materials. Although the number of users who accessed the offered teaching materials was similar, the test views were at least 15 times higher than the other materials. From the evaluation of the course carried out by the students, it is observed that there is satisfaction of the students in attending this type of course, although most students did not have the necessary autonomy to study alone. There was an increase in motivation and interest in studying the Human Physiology subject compared to the traditional teaching model, however the learning increment was not achieved as expected, noting that there was no increase in the results obtained in the final teste compared to the pre-test scores, including a reduction from 7,5 to 7,14 in course 1 and from 6,4 to 5,82 in course 3. Therefore, it is concluded that the online course can be an important tool in the teaching and learning process of the Human Physiology discipline, but it demands adaptations from the actors involved in the process so that the perceptions mentioned by the students about the increase in motivation and the interest in the study increase school performance, something not observed in this research.

Today, there are different innovative methodologies that seek to motivate and achieve in students the acquisition of meaningful learning, that is, learning in terms of Ausubel, built and consolidated, which occurs when students manage to relate the new information with the already owned. Thus, of all, the Case Method and Cooperative Learning, are methodologies with which in addition to acquiring knowledge, multiple transversal competencies are acquired such as decision-making, organizational skills, the ability to analyze and solve problems, oral and written communication skills and teamwork. Likewise, the Psychosocial Care module has been chosen for several aspects. In the first place, because the study of the person as a whole, as a biopsychosocial being, is complex and secondly, because in health we work with people, who can also be almost totally in a situation of vulnerability or fragility or a difficult time after a diagnosis or uncertain future. This report that is presented below aims to design an intervention proposal through the use of case studies and cooperative learning to teach psychosocial care to second-year students of the Higher Degree in Healthcare Documentation and Administration. To do this, a bibliographic search and an analysis of the most relevant concepts has been carried out first. This design aims to integrate these less used or more innovative methodologies, with the intention that it serves the entire educational community, always in search of the objective of the teaching-learning process, achieving in the student the maximum degree of motivation and achievement of meaningful learning.

- Abstract
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
[EN] For some time, it has been considered the need to approach the educational experience to the student sociocultural reality in the context of a classroom in Higher Education. This need is even more evident in the context of international exchange programs, in which the main objective is precisely to provide a space for mutual enrichment between the student's culture of origin and the host culture. In this sense, the “Grup d’Acompanyament Lingüístic” (GRUPal) works to promote the intercultural dialogue that inevitably and spontaneously takes place in and outside the classroom. The purpose of this paper is to present a didactic intervention based on inclusion and cooperative exchange as ways of bringing cultures together by reflecting on the euphemistic component of language and its politically correct dimension., [ES] De un tiempo a esta parte se viene considerando la necesidad de acercar la experiencia educativa a la realidad sociocultural del estudiante en el contexto del aula de Educación Superior.

- Abstract
The world of work needs workers who can adapt to the constant changes that today’s society is experiencing and to its uncertainties as well. This dissertation raises the importance of creativity in this new society and the desirability of including methodologies that encourage their development in vocational educational training studies, as a solution to prepare students to meet these requirements. Based on the study of numerous bibliographic sources, interviews with Design Thinking experts and surveys of teaching professionals, Design Thinking is proposed as one of these possible methodologies that can promote the generation of ideas. The characteristics, advantages and weaknesses of this method are presented in order to make a detailed analysis of its application in the educational field, especially in vocational educational training. Based on its analysis, and also taking into account the opinions of experts, it is concluded that Design Thinking is a method that offers very interesting virtues to prepare students for the changing needs of the world of work. However, it is noted that the limitations of the method must be borne in mind and the dissertation invites us to reflect on the application according to the characteristics of each project.
