The COVID-19 pandemic compelled higher education institutions to adopt an alternative approach to learning. For mathematics education, supporting students through blended learning has become increasingly important as it will ensure students' learning is sustained in such a situation. This practical change has illuminated how cloud technology can be employed in mathematics education to improve the instruction process. Using a cloud classroom blended learning-instructional framework for integrating educational cloud tools into mathematics teaching, this study analysed students' metacognitive ability in mathematical problem-solving. A pre-experimental research using a one group pre-test-post-test design was conducted. The sample comprised sixty undergraduate mathematics students enrolled on a Numerical Analysis course. Sample selection was carried out using a simple random sampling technique. Data were analysed using a descriptive analysis, parametric tests, and n-gain. The results revealed that, firstly, the majority of students (90%) achieved a post-test score of metacognitive ability in mathematical problem-solving -- this exceeded the 60% threshold. Secondly, students' post-test score of metacognitive ability in mathematical problem-solving (mean score of 82.14, S.D. = 8.29) increased significantly compared to the pre-test score (mean score of 73.54, S.D. = 8.38). Further, the effect size was large. Thirdly, there was an enhancement of metacognitive ability in the mathematical problem-solving of students with a mean n-gain of 0.34, which is in the moderate category. Thus, cloud classroom blended learning significantly improved metacognitive ability in mathematical problem-solving among undergraduate students. Educators can apply the results to assess mathematics learning in order to improve the quality of metacognitive ability in mathematical problem-solving.

Comprehensive practice education is an integral part of the basic education curriculum, aiming to train students to connect textbook knowledge with real-world life through hands-on manipulations and in-person experiences in off-campus settings. In response to the challenges arising in the current enactment of the comprehensive practice curriculum in Chinese county-level schools, the Tianfu New District Educational Science Institute of China's Sichuan Province developed the "cloud-based study tour" model to leverage local cultural and social resources to advance comprehensive practice education. Strategies, such as digital empowerment and curriculum development partnerships, were adopted. This article focuses on expounding on the positive roles of the "cloud-based study tour" in supporting regionally balanced, high-quality practical education by fully utilizing digital technologies and partnerships in curriculum development.

Digital and information literacy skills are necessary to succeed in today's knowledge economy but for the millions of people in the world without internet access, a frustratingCatch-22 exists: How can they develop digital literacy skills without internet access? When they get access, what good is the internet to them if they don't have the skills to use it productively? One answer is an offline digital library called SolarSPELL. This report from the field describes a series of instructional videos the author created to foster digital and information literacy skills among novice SolarSPELL users.

This research focuses on the survey and study of building architecture built in approximately 1932-1992, in Nakhon Nayok Province, Thailand with the three research objectives: (1) to study modern architecture buildings in Nakhon Nayok that reach the criteria of modern building value for conservation and lifelong learning, (2) to create a roster of modern buildings in Nakhon Nayok by studying the distinctive features of architecture and its historical, social, economic, educational, and other valuable significances; and (3) to create a valuable buildings database according to modern architecture criteria, to be uploaded to the micro-phishing system, and to publish modern architecture conservation database in digital and photographic files as the database of Nakhon Nayok. The main features of the buildings are consistent with the nature of modern architecture that shows the structure importance, and the use of technology of various materials which shows the advance construction technology in those days. The buildings are as simple as a box. They are useful, respond to the public, worth to society and culture, and contain of historical significance. From the survey and study in Nakhon Nayok, it was found that there were 43 buildings reaching the criteria of modern building value for conservation and were saved in the database in accordance with the micro-phishing model. The details of 43 modern buildings are presented in a digital file format and photo database of modern buildings in Nakhon Nayok to propagate the modern architecture conservation database as a lifelong learning resource for the benefit of interested people.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, organizations increased virtual programming and adoption of online technologies. This article outlines the University of California assessment of tools for gathering data on participant learning outcomes from virtual educational programs. After assessing colleagues' experiences and searching for new web applications, a central repository was created. The University of California team will use this information to assist extension professionals in collecting program planning and evaluation data. We believe that these tools can help other extension programs nationally and globally with similar efforts, as more virtual programming is likely to increase in the future.

This paper investigates the integration of blockchain technology into core systems within institutions of higher education, utilizing the National Institute of Standards and Technology's (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework as a guiding framework. It supplies definitions of key terminology including blockchain, consensus mechanisms, decentralized identity, and smart contracts, and examines the application of secure blockchain across various educational functions such as enrollment management, degree auditing, and award processing. Each facet of the NIST Framework is utilized to explore the integration of blockchain technology and address persistent security concerns. The paper contributes to the literature by defining blockchain technology applications and opportunities within the education sector.

COVID-19, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Climate Change, have disrupted work education, rendering sustainability of careers and livelihoods a concern. This paper outlines a collaborative response to that challenge, offering opportunities for sustainable livelihoods in a work education cloud collaboration, Project SLiC (Sustainable Livelihoods Collaboration). We have joined forces across nation states in the Global South/North to share cloud resources, focused on teaching a postgraduate course, Sustainable Livelihoods. Online modules are stored in a secure cloud site, from which local courses draw-down, autochthonously, whichever resources fit workforce development in context. We outline modules, and an evaluative process, in a proof-of-concept trial. Finally, we envisage how this initial collaboration may morph into a whole degree, including research supervision. We close with a call to career development professionals to share their unique expertise and experiences at the work education frontline, on how to develop this sustainable careers project, for the greater good.

The purpose of the current article is to evaluate social responsibility, digital ethics, and knowledge about safe data storage among students of different ages. Four hundred students took part in the study: 200 people each in the first and fifth years of study. Their ages were 19.2 years (SD = 1.08) and 24.4 years (SD = 1.18), respectively. The research tools were the Chinese University Students' Social Responsibility Scale (CUSSRS), the Digital Ethics Level Scale (SLDE), and the Cyber Security Awareness Survey (CSA). It was found that with age, the indicators of Social Responsibility become higher. Digital Ethics also increases with age: in the category of Privacy and Data Protection, first-year students had a mean value of 11.49 versus 16.04 of fifth-year students; in the Ethical Use of Technology -- 12.05 versus 16.49; in Digital Security -- 11.02 versus 15.00, respectively. At the same time, the Digital Accessibility subscale was the same for the two groups, without significant differences. In addition, the value of Cybersecurity Awareness was higher among fifth-year students with an indicator of 58.86 against an indicator of 46.33 for first-year students, that is, it was 12.53 higher.

The popularity of digital badges has been accelerated in recent years. Advocates of digital badges suggest their use may improve students' motivation and achievement, but existing empirical studies have failed to show consistent results. Furthermore, to date, no meta-analysis has been conducted on the topic of digital badges. Given this gap, the purpose of this study is to systematically evaluate the effect of digital badges on student motivation and learning achievement. Our results suggest that digital badges have a significant impact on learning achievement, but the effect on motivation is inconclusive. In addition, moderator analyses were conducted to test the extent to which badge visibility, grade level, content area, and length of intervention influence the effects on motivation and learning achievement. The study provides an early summary of empirical digital badge research--an area still in its infancy. The results of this meta-analysis provide a foundation for the future of digital badge design and development research. Furthermore, our results can inform the practice of the implementation of digital badges in that digital badges can have stronger effects in the higher education context, with STEM subjects, and for a medium duration of one to nine weeks.

The principal investigator (PI) conducted this research study to explore the strategic cybersecurity defense IT Managers should implement to reduce healthcare data breaches. The PI conducted a systematic literature review and selected articles that addressed healthcare data security breaches, information disclosure, cybersecurity in healthcare, and IT Managers' lack of leadership competence. Also, various annotations from contextual, seminal, grey, and recent literature were used to find the research problem: The strategic cybersecurity defense IT Managers should implement to reduce healthcare data breaches has not been established. The PI collected secondary data from the Office of Civil Rights (OCR)/Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The analysis, results, and findings are provided below in Part 9. Nevertheless, the routine interaction during health information exchange (HIE) on an interoperable network and the behavior of care providers and third parties who use computers and mobile devices to exchange patient data is an opportunity for cybercriminals to install malware or launch a ransomware attack to exploit potential vulnerabilities whether to steal sensitive data or compromise the network systems. Therefore, strategic cyber defense or an innovative security model would mitigate the threat. An exploratory design is used, and an epistemological approach supports the research method and design. The study is significant, and it will contribute to the body of knowledge the PI suggested for future research and provide major recommendations.

The pandemic has accelerated technological advances in higher education. Learning management systems that make use of the persistent platform, a wide range of communication options, and profoundly immersive qualities quickly become the platform of choice for learning management systems. The blockchain enables non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and uses the blockchain architecture to validate college diplomas and transcripts, opening the way for a diverse variety of e-portfolios owned and shared by students and teachers. Another type of blockchain that is relatively new to the education scene is decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). Through this, technology courses, certificates, and more can become automated and authenticated on the blockchain. The current state of the web is rapidly evolving into what is known as Web 3.0. It is the emerging evolution of the internet to make it machine-readable, which includes leveraging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the cloud, and distributed ledger technologies such as blockchain. From the perspectives of the university and the metaverse, this paper discusses the shift in education brought about by NFTs, DAOs, Web 3.0, and the metaverse. The powerful mix of Web 3.0 and the metaverse is about to revolutionize the way people learn and teach in the modern world.

With the growth in digital teaching and learning, there has been a sharp rise in the number of cybersecurity attacks on K-12 school networks. This has demonstrated a need for security technologies and cybersecurity education. This study examined security technologies used, effective security practices, challenges, concerns, and wish list of technology leaders in K-12 settings. Data collected from 23 district websites and from interviews with 12 district technology leaders were analyzed. Top security practices included cloud-based technologies, segregated network/V-LAN, two-factor authentication, limiting access, and use of Clever or Class Link. Top challenges included keeping users informed, lack of buy-in from staff and decision-makers, lack of expertise to implement modern best practices, and cost of resources. Top concerns included possible cyberattacks, leaked student data, and lack of user awareness. Finally, their wish list included technology personnel, access to Clever of Class Link, external system diagnostic checks, professional development for staff, and replacing aging infrastructure. The findings have implications for K-12 administrators, technology leaders, and teachers.

The flipped learning approach of instruction sees classroom lectures moved outside of classrooms through devices and technology. Homework is moved inside classrooms as learning activities. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, cloud-based education platforms - the organization of the educational environment in the cloud as a tool to enable teaching and learning - have been widely deployed to support online instruction. In this study, flipped cloud learning, incorporating approach of advancing mathematical thinking, were conducted in Mathematical Analysis course to study students' mathematical critical thinking. A quantitative method, using a pre-test-post-test design, was employed with a group of 56 undergraduate mathematics students. The research instrument was a mathematical critical thinking ability test. The quantitative data were analyzed using the descriptive analysis, n-gain and t-test. The findings revealed that students had statistically significant mathematical critical thinking of higher than 60% of the full score at the .05 level. There was an increase in students' mathematical critical thinking abilities with a mean n-gain of .64, which was moderate. The findings also show that the students' mathematical critical thinking was significantly enhanced by this approach at 0.05 level. Thus, it could be summarized that integrating strategy for advancing mathematical thinking into flipped cloud learning positively affected students' mathematical critical thinking. The results also suggest that this reformed learning approach might be usefully employed as an instruction model in the new normal context.

This study aims to make a descriptive analysis and evaluation of postgraduate theses on blockchain technology conducted in Turkey between 2017 and 2021. Qualitative research methods were used in this research, and theses were analysed with the descriptive content analysis technique. It has been observed that 111 studies have been carried out on blockchain technology and the first thesis was prepared in 2017. 107 graduate studies registered in the Higher Education Council of Turkey's National Thesis Centre database with access permissions were examined. Theses are coded according to publication date, university, institute, department, graduate/ doctorate level, advisors' academic title, thesis language, research method, research sub-areas, city and the region where the thesis was written. Studies on blockchain have been carried out in many universities, and Marmara University is the university that contributes the most to the subject with its graduate studies. Most studies were conducted at the Applied Sciences and Institute for Social Sciences. The distribution of the universities where the thesis studies are conducted according to the geographical regions is examined, the Marmara region leads with 70 studies, and no thesis studies have been carried out in the Eastern Anatolia region. Most of the thesis administrators are faculty members with the title of "Assist. Prof. Dr.". Most of the studies were written in Turkish, and primarily Qualitative Research methods were used. Theses were carried out in 10 institutes and 36 different departments, and most of the theses were produced from the studies in the Business department. The findings of this study will guide other researchers who want to work in the field of blockchain.

Employers are increasingly selecting and developing employees based on skills rather than qualifications. Governments now have a growing focus on skilling, reskilling and upskilling the workforce through skills-based development rather than qualifications as a way of improving productivity. Both these changes are leading to a much stronger interest in digital badging and micro-credentialing that enables a more granular, skills-based development of learner-earners. This paper explores the use of an online skills profiling tool that can be used by designers, educators, researchers, employers and governments to understand how badges and micro-credentials can be incorporated within existing qualifications and how skills developed within learning can be compared and aligned to those sought in job roles. This work, and lessons learnt from the case study examples of computing-related degree programmes in the UK, also highlights exciting opportunities for educational providers to develop and accommodate personalised learning into existing formal education structures across a range of settings and contexts.

This research examined the process of creating educational innovations through cloud-based constructivism and connectivism learning for undergraduates. The objectives were as follows: (1) To examine the cloud-based constructivism and connectivism learning model's roles in helping undergraduates create educational innovations; and (2) To evaluate the learning and innovation skills of students participating in cloud-based constructivism. The population in the study consisted of 60 undergraduates of Phetchaburi Rajabhat University, acquired using simple random sampling. The undergraduates were enrolled in a course for designing and developing games for education and computer-assisted mathematics instruction. The independent variable was the format of the constructivism and connectivism learning model for undergraduates involving cloud technology to promote innovative education. The dependent variable was the result of innovative education. The research findings were as follows: (1) Participants' overall satisfaction with the model was at the highest level ([x-bar] = 4.53, S.D. = 0.60). (2) Out of the 60 students, 21 created innovative educational workpieces. Four workpieces were accepted for academic publication, showing that this model allowed learners to analyze media, promote innovative education, and apply educational innovations.

COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has affected higher education institutions all over the world, causing face-to-face education to cease. Schools have tried to carry out educational activities through online teaching either by using on premise infrastructure or by leasing cloud based online platforms. Although these platforms are convenient, most of them do not meet all the requirements for higher education institutions. Not knowing where the personal data is stored in a public cloud creates another problem for some countries according to laws. In this study, a new online learning platform has been developed for higher education institutions to solve these problems using state-of-the-art cloud technologies. The new system enables implementation of individual curricula of many higher education institutions in one software system, and it can be taken into service quickly in emergencies. It expands dynamically by activating a large number of streaming servers to meet the demand. The new system provides easy to use-learn interfaces, offers an economical solution for e-learning by sharing the resources, and compliant with the law on protection of personal data. The new platform was in service at 12 universities in Turkiye during the fall 2020, and its performance was measured with surveys at various levels.

Micro-credentials can provide easily accessible and transparent evidence of skills or knowledge that have been certified by an authority, based on small units of learning. The recognition and transfer of credits is becoming essential, as an increasing number of students are studying at different institutions, often at the same time, online or in traditional settings. "Blockchain is a type of database that stores data in an "open, peer-to-peer (P2P) network that favors communal functionality in lieu of a centralized controlling entity" (Columbia Engineering Bootcamps, 2021, para 5). The development of blockchain (https://theconversation.com/demystifying-the-blockchain-a-basic-user-guide-60226) holds promise of becoming a useful facilitator for supporting the storage and dissemination of micro-credentials on a global scale. Besides providing effective data security and privacy, blockchain can also facilitate maintaining and disseminating credentials, while ensuring that access is readily available for students under their control. Because of its immutability, blockchain can be used to confidently attest to students' accomplishments and is therefore particularly appropriate for micro-credentials.

Data repositories currently constitute essential programs within institutions. In fact, universities are the primary institutions that promote the creation, management and storage for the safekeeping of a variety of documents, data and/or projects. This work is carried out within the framework of institutional need and the application of knowledge by the students and professors in the software degree program at a university in Ecuador. This project centers on a web application that makes it possible to manage, upload and download resources. This initial version focuses on the resources related to academic projects, data sets and algorithms. The scalability characteristics have been carefully introduced to ensure a progressive evolution of other types of resources and functionalities, in accordance with educational needs. Several aspects of the web interfaces are based on the characteristics of other existing repositories, and a series of tests related to functionality have been conducted in order to move beyond the introductory stage of use, to begin with, by the university community. This project is carried out according to a conception based on contributions, in which the agents, in principle, are members of the institution. The intensive and collaborative use of this utility will contribute to the growth of a data culture within the institution. Furthermore, the collection and organization of data for the purposes of study and research by the different university degree programs makes it possible to analyze and contrast them from different perspectives.

This paper presents an educational setting that attempts to enhance students' understanding and facilitate students' linking-inferencing skills. The proposed setting is structured in three stages. The first stage intends to explore students' prior knowledge. The second stage aims to help students tackle their difficulties and misconceptions and deepen their understanding of the topics under study. This is attempted through individual student engagement in suitably-designed activities and relative feedback. As recorded in previous research, students' difficulties feedback on the material development. The third stage of the educational setting exploits social interaction to help students reorganize their knowledge of the concepts under study. The web-based application of the proposed educational setting indicated improvement in first-year Computer Science (CS) students' understanding of fundamental Computer Architecture concepts and progress in students' linking-inference skills. These results encourage integration in the instructional process of interventions designed according to the proposed setting in order to support and enhance students' understanding of troublesome concepts and their interrelations.

Many funding agencies require researchers to include a data management plan with their grant applications explaining how they intend to make the data generated from the research publicly accessible. University administration and campus service providers could potentially leverage the content of data management plans to facilitate compliance and reduce the burden on researchers. A case study at the University of Michigan demonstrates the promise of using data management plans as a communications and information sharing tool and the barriers in doing so. I apply the results of a content analysis to develop a series of recommendations to funding agencies, university administration, and campus service providers to improve the utility of data management plans in supporting data sharing and compliance.

Cloud computing has grown to become an integral part of information technology (IT) infrastructure. Organizations are increasingly utilizing cloud services to deliver a variety of applications and services in conjunction with their on-premise data center environments. As such, students pursuing careers in information systems and computing need to add cloud concepts and skills to their "tool belts" to meet the demands of employers. Amazon Web Services (AWS) has the largest market share of cloud providers. This paper reports on a systems administration course at a private liberal arts institution that was re-tooled to integrate cloud computing fundamentals using AWS as a platform for hands-on labs. Cloud computing concepts paralleled content for the AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification Exam, which students took at the end of the course. The course provided necessary skills for students in their development as information systems (IS) professionals, as well as important lessons for IS and computing educators as they consider how to incorporate cloud computing skills into their curricula.

Digital badging has seen widespread adoption within the US higher education sector with continued growth predicted. Might digital badging present an underrealized opportunity for libraries seeking new vehicles through which to deliver information literacy instructional content? This paper offers an analysis of badging in higher education and considers the strengths and weaknesses of digital badging for asynchronous information literacy instruction by employing Dr. Everett Rogers' Diffusion of Innovations theoretical lens. Current evidence is presented and a case study is provided, detailing Samford University Library's development of an information literacy digital badging pathway incorporating the ACRL Framework and the institution's Christian mission.

The purpose of this research is to assess the effectiveness of using cloud storage services as a means to facilitate the rehearsal process in online choral vocal education. Third-year students from three Chinese educational institutions participated in this study. Thus, this research involved a total number of 336 people (320 students and 16 teachers). Accordingly, students were divided into two groups based on the training approach. The first one, Group A, consisted of students who received choral vocal training under the conventional program without the application of online platforms and cloud storage services. The second one, Group B, included students who received education using technology-enabled training methods. They participated in choral rehearsals on Zoom using multimedia materials from Google Drive. According to the results of the final assessment, Group B performed better than Group A; the difference in the average performance score was 5% between the two groups.

The present study (n = 357) investigates the effects of collaborative note-taking behaviors on learning performance and note quality. To conceptualize collaborative note-taking, the present study introduces the collaborative encoding-storage paradigm, where collaborative writing behaviors are viewed as types of collaborative encoding and the completeness or comprehensiveness of the notes is viewed as a measure of storage. The following collaborative behaviors were analyzed: volume of words written, edits of others' writing, frequency of writing sessions, and turn-taking. Storage was evaluated by measuring the completeness of the notes the groups produced. Given the complex nature of the data, with individuals nested within groups, we used a two-level correlation analysis to identify correlations among variables. Between-person analysis suggested that volume of words, edits of others, and turn-taking behaviors were all positively associated with learning performance. Between-groups analysis suggested that volume of words and frequency of writing sessions were associated with the completeness of group notes. Overall, the results demonstrate meaningful relationships between the frequency of collaborative encoding behaviors and learning outcomes, showing differences in the impact that encoding and storage behaviors have on learner performance and suggesting the effectiveness of collaboration varies depending on variables investigated as well as the level of analysis.

This study combines link grammar (LG) detector with N-grammar model to analyze and evaluate grammar in compositions. And then the composition level is judged through information entropy. Finally, the composition score is calculated based on the overall composition level and grammar weight. The experimental results show that the combined weight of recall and accuracy of the proposed method in this study is 89.9%, which is 26.6% higher than LG and 9.7% higher than Grammarly. In the performance test of scoring the entire essay, the proportion of error between the proposed method and manual evaluation is 87.29%, with a lower overall mean square error of only 3.08 and a shorter average running time of only 22.69 seconds. The method proposed in this study has a high accuracy and strong applicability in the evaluation of English compositions for middle school students, providing a new approach for teaching English writing for middle school students.

Cloud-hosted services are being increasingly used in hosting business and scientific applications due to cost-effectiveness, scalability, and ease of deployment. To facilitate rapid development, change and release process of cloud-hosted applications, the area of development and operations (DevOps) is fast evolving. It is necessary to train the future generation of scientific application development professionals such that they are knowledgeable in the DevOps-enabled continuous integration/delivery automation. In this article, we present the design and development of our "Mizzou Cloud DevOps platform," an online self-service platform to learn cutting-edge Cloud DevOps tools/technologies using open/public cloud infrastructures for wide adoption amongst instructors/students. Our learning platform features scalability, flexibility, and extendability in providing Cloud DevOps concepts knowledge and hands-on skills. We detail our "application-inspired learning" methodology that is based on integration of real-world application use cases in eight learning modules that include laboratory exercises and self-study activities. The learning modules allow students to gain skills in using latest technologies (e.g., containerization, cluster and edge computing, data pipeline automation) to implement relevant security, monitoring, and adaptation mechanisms. The evaluation of our platform features a knowledge growth study to assess student learning, followed by a usability study to assess the online learning platform, as well as the curriculum content as perceived by instructors and students across multiple hands-on workshops.

As technology continues to evolve, the process of English translation has become easier. A technology called widget, which is used in modern research, provides an efficient graphical user interface for the interaction between the user and the application. This paper compares the newly proposed wireless widget system with existing models of English translation strategies for internet of things (IoT), cloud computing (CC), artificial intelligence and edge computing (AI+EC), and pure internet concepts. These models were compared on metrics such as accuracy, search completion rate, and throughput. The results show that the proposed system outperforms the existing models with an accuracy rate of 98%, a search completion rate of 96%, and a maximum throughput of 96%. The model shows high performance advantages and can effectively improve the efficiency of translation work.

The paper examines the special aspects of using Big Data technology in education. The population was made up of 356 third-year university students. To study Big Data technology, a questionnaire was used where respondents rated: cloud technology; apps; Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and digital learning platforms. The study suggested that the education sector is ambitiously applying Big Data technology, both online and offline. All surveyed respondents use apps in Big Data learning and analysis: 73.03% use Moodle, 67.13% use Zoom, 65.17% use Quizlet, 50.84% use Skype, and 35.11% use Slack. MOOCs in education are used by 75% of respondents. Digital learning platforms are used by all respondents. All students use cloud technology. When dealing with Big Data technologies, students preferred apps (8.9 ± 1.33) instead of the cloud (6.9 ± 0.11). Students believe that the important factors for using Big Data in the learning process include: quality of information (85.96%); interest (77.81%); instructor's support (66.85%). The research findings make it possible to integrate Big Data technology into the learning process, thus improving learning outcomes and providing greater speed in processing reliable and meaningful data.

This study explores the role of the perceived image of accounting in determining key variables that influence high school accounting students' acceptance of using cloud accounting as a new technology. We adopted the technology acceptance model (TAM) as its theoretical framework. High school accounting students enrolled in the 'Kyoto Subaru High School Career Course Business Game (KCB)' at a mid-sized commercial high school in Japan were the participants. During the KCB, the students engaged in learning interventions using business games that incorporated cloud accounting. We found that high school students' image of accounting as a decision-making tool is important to strengthen the perceived usefulness of cloud accounting on their intention to use its technology. However, we could not demonstrate that students' accounting perceptions moderate another significant TAM path between perceived ease of cloud accounting use and intention of its technology use. These results provide new insights regarding effective and relevant ways to offer students more opportunities to use the new technology and gain hands-on experiences in the accounting education curriculum.

Purpose: Digital learning systems are crucial for education and data collected can analyse students learning performances to improve support. The purpose of this study is to design and build an asynchronous hardware and software system that can store data on a local device until able to share. It was developed for staff and students at university who are using the limited internet access in areas such as remote Northern Territory. This system can asynchronously link the users' devices and the central server at the university using unstable internet. Design/methodology/approach: A Learning Box has been build based on minicomputer and a web learning management system (LMS). This study presents different options to create such a system and discusses various approaches for data syncing. The structure of the final setup is a Moodle (Modular Object Oriented Developmental Learning Environment) LMS on a Raspberry Pi which provides a Wi-Fi hotspot. The authors worked with lecturers from X University who work in remote Northern Territory regions to test this and provide feedback. This study also considered suitable data collection and techniques that can be used to analyse the available data to support learning analysis by the staff. This research focuses on building an asynchronous hardware and software system that can store data on a local device until able to share. Findings: The resultant system has been tested in various scenarios to ensure it is robust when students' submissions are collected. Furthermore, issues around student familiarity and ability to use online systems have been considered due to early feedback. Research limitations/implications: Monitoring asynchronous collaborative learning systems through analytics can assist students learning in their own time. Learning Hubs can be easily set up and maintained using micro-computers now easily available. A phone interface is sufficient for learning when video and audio submissions are supported in the LMS. Practical implications: This study shows digital learning can be implemented in an offline environment by using a Raspberry Pi as LMS server. Offline collaborative learning in remote communities can be achieved by applying asynchronized data syncing techniques. Also asynchronized data syncing can be reliably achieved by using change logs and incremental syncing technique. Social implications: Focus on audio and video submission allows engagement in higher education by students with lower literacy but higher practice skills. Curriculum that clearly supports the level of learning required for a job needs to be developed, and the assumption that literacy is part of the skilled job in the workplace needs to be removed. Originality/value: To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first remote asynchronous collaborative LMS environment that has been implemented. This provides the hardware and software for opportunities to share learning remotely. Material to support low literacy students is also included.

The construction sector faces the urgent need to prioritize energy efficiency due to an increasingly stringent regulatory landscape in response to the climate change agenda. Central to this transition is the pivotal role of education in equipping professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills. Educational solutions have emerged as powerful tools for promoting awareness and interventions to mitigate climate change. This article provides a case study that highlights the successful utilisation of computer technology in delivering digital solutions to advance energy education and promote more informed energy practices in the construction industry. The utilisation of digital technologies can enhance collaborative efforts in energy efficiency training, which is of critical significance in ensuring the security, sovereignty, transparency, immutability, and decentralisation of interventions related to energy education. This paper presents a framework that utilises Blockchain technology to facilitate training labelling and authenticity based on smart contracts and mobile passports to provide a secure and efficient solution for the delivery of training and education in the energy domain. Our research examines the challenges and opportunities related to energy efficiency training within the construction industry. By integrating industry-specific insights, exemplifications, and case studies, we provide an in-depth understanding of the interconnection between energy efficiency education and digital solutions with the unique context of the construction industry. We underscore the importance of leveraging digital platforms as educational tools to foster a deeper understanding and adoption of energy-efficient practices. We demonstrate that educational solutions play a pivotal role in driving awareness and interventions for mitigating climate change, greatly empowering individuals and organizations to adopt energy-efficient practices and to address sustainability objectives.

Purpose: Knowing the students' readiness for the fourth industrial revolution (4IR) is essential to producing competent, knowledgeable and skilled graduates who can contribute to the skilled workforce in the country. This will assist the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to ensure that their graduates own skill sets needed to work in the 4IR era. However, studies on students' readiness and preparedness for the 4IR in developing countries such as the Sultanate of Oman are still lacking. Therefore, this study investigates students' readiness level and preparedness for the 4IR. The findings of this study will benefit the HEIs policymakers, administration, faculties, departments, industries and society at large since they will be informed of the student's readiness and preparedness toward industry 4.0. Design/methodology/approach: The authors adopted the measures from the same context as previous studies in this study. The questionnaire was divided into three sections; the first part described the purpose and introduction of the search with the surety to keep the data confidential. The second part consisted of demographical information like gender, education. The last parts consisted of four subsections, question items in these parts are based on the related previous study. Characteristics consisted of 14 items, knowledge consisted of 18 items related to 4IR technologies, Organizational Dimension comprised of four items related to academic programs, curriculum and training. Preparedness contained two items. The participants have rated all the items in 5-Likert scale. Findings: Results from structural equation modeling showed that students' characteristics, knowledge of 4IR technologies and organizational dimensions significantly impact their preparedness for the 4IR. The study also found that organizational dimensions have the highest impact on students' preparedness. Furthermore, the organizational dimension significantly influences students' knowledge of 4IR technology. Moreover, students' characteristics related to 4IR are significantly affected by their knowledge of 4IR technology and organizational dimension. The findings suggest that HEIs are responsible for increasing the adoption of 4IR, and therefore organizational dimensions such as the academic programs, training, technological infrastructure and others are all critical for preparing students for a better future and should be given a priority. Research limitations/implications: This study has used academic programs and training to measure the organizational dimension. However, other important factors should be considered, such as technological infrastructure and leadership and governance of HEIs. Second, the current research depends on quantitative data, so future research should implement a mixed methodology (questionnaires, depth interviews, document analysis and focus group) to understand the factors affecting students' readiness for 4IR clearly. Finally, although the 4IR has numerous benefits, it also has challenges in its implementation, so future studies should focus on challenges encountered by different stakeholders in implementing 4IR-related technologies. Practical implications: The curriculum must include mandatory courses related to IT infrastructure design, user experience programming, electronic measurement and control principles, and programming for data science. HEIs should also foster interdisciplinary knowledge by integrating IT, Engineering, Business and Sciences. Furthermore, the HEIs should develop their infrastructure to have smart campuses, labs, classrooms and libraries to make HEIs a space where knowledge can be generated and innovative solutions can be proposed. This entails HEIs offering necessary hardware, software and technical support because if the HEIs improve their technological resources, students will be capable of using 4IR-related technologies effectively. Originality/value: The advancement of technology has resulted in the emergence of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, robotics, cloud computing, data science, virtual reality and 3D printing. It is essential to investigate students' readiness for 4IR. However, there is no study as per researchers' knowledge talked about students readiness in HEIs in the Arab world. This study could be a basis for more research on students' perception of the 4IR covering students from various backgrounds and levels.

Literate programming and cloud-operated open literate educational resources (COOLERs) have been catching the attention of the education community in recent years. This set of learning materials mainly comprises digital notebook-like documents, which are stored, backed, and delivered from cloud services and eventually displayed in students' web browsers. As we demonstrate in this article, the advent of cloud architectures and the COVID-19 pandemic (which forced worldwide long-term distant academic environments) fortuitously teamed up with this learning and methodological trend by easing its use and fostering its adoption. With more detail, we have quantitatively measured the impact that the COOLER paradigm has had on the teaching realm by analyzing five years of logged data gathered by its current major player in the ecosystem: MyBinder. Among other results, we show how this growth in the production and delivery of notebooks made an important leap during the second SARS-CoV-2 wave (July-September 2020). However, the general usage trend seems to have strongly decreased after the end of the most recent seventh wave (September 2022), coinciding with the official end of the global health crisis and all the lockdown episodes. From these examined data, we conclude that COOLER and recent massive online learning scenarios have been very intimately linked. This fact may represent a flaw in the adoption of these exciting and useful learning materials.

Through an examination of ethnographic fieldwork data, this paper explores the ways in which cloud-based collaborative technologies created by Google "mediate" (Latour 1994) teachers' discussions around, agreement of and enactments of their classroom practices. Bringing together concepts from actor-network theory and literacy studies, this paper argues for greater consideration of the role(s) of increasingly-used technologies in shaping teachers' practices and suggests a framework for exploring this issue further.

In the post-pandemic era, distance education and training modes without space constraints are gradually becoming a new trend in training. Game-based training combined with situational simulations is a potential approach. This study used a simulation company scenario and a decision-making analysis task of promotion assessment as the game context, and proposed an innovative game mechanism integrating the simulation situation scenario and the interactive contextual clue scaffolding as a guide to enhance learning effectiveness. This study used the "Gather Town" platform to design a simulation office scenario, and "Google Forms" to design interactive contextual clue scaffolding. This study conducted empirical research to evaluate this mechanism, with a total of 60 participants divided into an experimental group that conducted game activities and a control group that was only provided with document files as scaffolding for comparative analysis. The results of the study revealed that the proposed exploration guidance mechanism of integrating immersive scenes and interactive contextual clue scaffolding could allow learners to experience a high level of game fidelity and increase the discovery rate and usefulness of the scaffolding. It also reduced learning anxiety, maintained learning motivation and high flow, and resulted in significantly higher learning effectiveness than the control group approach.

In this article, the research of multimedia teaching video content feature extraction is carried out. According to the file structure, data type, and storage mechanism of the teaching video, a program is developed to automatically extract the structural features of the teaching video content, and a storage and retrieval database is established. The research results show that the accuracy rate of various videos compiled through genie 8.0 for teaching videos exceeds 94%. The recall rate of various videos exceeds 95%. The accuracy and recall of advertisements have reached 100%. Among the elements of teaching video content features, the number of graphs is the highest, followed by film clips, accounting for 14.18. Image, vivid, and interactive multimedia teaching video technology has greatly improved teaching effectiveness, promoting students to better understand and remember knowledge points. The research results provide theoretical data support for multimedia feature extraction to optimize classroom teaching quality.

The COVID-19 outbreak has impacted almost every facet of life, including education. Technology has almost entirely replaced conventional face-to-face teaching and learning environment. This public health calamity has hastened the digitisation of education, which was previously only provided without a repellent component. Cloud computing is widely used in education, notably higher education, to provide online access and share teaching resources, educational information, notes, lectures, and academic assessments. But, while observing technology's grandeur, are people prepared to accept an avalanche of information resources and open online access via cloud-based services? Thus, this study investigated users' readiness and acceptability of cloud computing in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Using the Structural Equation Modelling analysis, this study surveyed 470 individuals from Malaysian HEIs using the Technology Acceptance Model and Technology Readiness Index models. Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Usefulness is positively relevant in understanding why a user chooses cloud computing. The environment of the learning process and the security factors are positive predictors of cloud computing use intention. Optimism and Innovativeness have been demonstrated to impact technology acceptance factors substantially. On the other hand, Discomfort and Insecurity do not affect technology acceptance, except for Insecurity, which negatively affects Perceived Usefulness. This research adds to the growing knowledge about technology readiness and acceptance, especially after a pandemic hits the world.

This conceptual study uses dynamic systems theory (DST) and phenomenology as lenses to examine data privacy implications surrounding wearable devices that incorporate stakeholder, contextual and technical factors. Wearable devices can impact people's behaviour and sense of self, and DST and phenomenology provide complementary approaches for emphasizing the subjective experiences of individuals that occur with the use of wearable data. Privacy is approached through phenomenology as an individual's lived bodily experience and DST emphasizes the self-regulation and feedback loops of individuals and their uses of wearable data. The data collection, analysis and communication of wearable data to support learning systems alongside privacy implications for each are examined. The IoT, cloud computing, metadata and algorithms are discussed as they relate to wearable data, pointing out privacy risks and strategies to minimize harm.

Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are involved in an evolution to a new model of university called "digital university." This model implies not only adopting new technologies but also developing an organizational strategic transformation which includes information, processes, human aspects, and more. Because an organization's digital maturity correlates with the scope of its digital transformation efforts, this study aims to identify digital transformation initiatives (DTI) taken by HEIs, defining the new processes and technologies used to implement them. The main motivation is to have a real and clear vision of how universities are transforming themselves, discovering the most relevant DTI that they have applied and if they are doing it through an integrated plan aligned with a digital strategy, as recommended by experts. We conducted a Multivocal Literature Review, as methodology research, to include both academic and grey literature in the analysis. Main results show that the DTI implemented are primarily focused on "providing a quality and competitive education" (24% of 184 DTI from 39 different universities analyzed). Emerging technologies most frequently used are "advanced analytics" (23%), "cloud" (20%) and "artificial intelligence" (16% of total DTI). We conclude that HEIs are in the first steps to digital maturity as only 1 in 4 have a digital strategy and 56% have launched isolated DTI that are not integrated in a plan and do not have a high strategic return value to the organization.

Information technology (IT) plays an increasingly significant role in today's world. The COVID-19 pandemic has increased that reliance. Employers in all industries are struggling with considerable shortages of skilled IT workers and are seeking innovative alternatives to meet these needs. Digital badging and micro-credentials have emerged as an alternative system to validate skills. The issuing of digital badges has spanned across a wide spectrum of settings and purposes. However, there is currently less application of digital badges in graduate-level programs to link to important academic or subject-matter related achievements and higher-level competencies. Reskilling and upskilling existing employees need a more practical and sustainable approach and often do not require completion of an entire IT master's degree. To align with such demand, this study aims to demonstrate how a digital badging system can be used to validate stackable certificates for micro-credentials in a graduate-level program. The paper starts with a background introduction of the current IT employment landscape. The next two sections provide an overview of micro-credentials in workforce development and higher education today. This is followed by a section on our conceptual framework used to determine the potential value of digital badging to our graduate programs. The next section focuses on the case study. The last sections conclude with the lessons learned and the future research directions.
