This study investigates the effects of the organization of industrial Research & Development on industrial researchers' knowledge acquisition behavior. Specifically, we test a model about how the fit of individuals with their research tasks affects whether industrial researchers acquire knowledge from outside their assigned projects. Empirical analyses from the R&D laboratory of a global pharmaceutical company show that person-task-fit has a non-linear effect on the knowledge content exchanged through interpersonal interactions. Objectives: To examine the moderating effect of familiarization on the relationship between external load and ratings of perceived exertion (RPEs) in elite youth soccer players. Methods: Thirty-five elite male youth soccer players were monitored over a 31-week period. Players had no previous experience using the centiMax scale (arbitrary units [AU]). The final sample included familiarized (blackness test; n = 20) and nonfamiliarized players (n = 15) with the Borg centiMax scale. Players recorded a global RPE and differential RPEs (dRPE) for breathlessness (RPE-B) and leg-muscle exertion (RPE-L) 15 to 30 minutes following training sessions and competitive matches. Separate multivariable-adjusted random-effects generalized additive models with restricted maximum likelihood quantified familiarization versus no-familiarization differences in actual perceived exertion score (in AU) by number of accelerations, decelerations, and high-speed running distance (in meters) as predictor variables, respectively. Results: Players improved their blackness test score from 39% to 78%. For explorations by number of accelerations, familiarization effects were not practically relevant for the RPE and RPE-B variables. The width and sign of the effects for the RPE-L variable at 30 efforts of 10 AU (95% CI, 4–16 AU) suggested that scores were lower for players who underwent familiarization versus players who did not. Familiarization effects were not practically relevant for any RPE variable irrespective of the number of deceleration efforts and high-speed running distance covered. Laser-arc hybrid welding (LAHW) technology is a versatile and widely used method that has garnered significant attention, particularly in the thick plate welding required for shipbuilding. One of the most crucial parameters in LAHW is the laser-arc distance, which has a significant impact on the interaction between the laser and arc, especially in high-power laser and high-speed welding processes. As such, investigating the effects of laser-arc distance on the welding process is of great theoretical importance for both future research and industrial applications. This study utilizes high-speed photography to capture the welding process, focusing on how the laser-arc distance affects droplet transition and the stability of weld pool flow. Additionally, numerical simulations are used to explore the mechanisms underlying welding defect formation. The results indicate that an optimal laser-arc distance can produce a well-formed weld without significant defects. When the laser-arc distance (DLA) is too small, the coupling effect between the laser and arc becomes overly strong, causing unstable droplet transition and weld pool flow, which leads to defects such as spatter and undercutting. Conversely, when the laser-arc distance is too large, the coupling effect weakens, resulting in reduced weld reinforcement and the occurrence of porosity defects. Table olives are the most important fermented vegetable in the Mediterranean countries. In a continuous effort to improve the quality of this food, this work applies an experimental design with four variables to study the use of 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP, 2.85 µL/L) in combination with a light heat shock (65 °C, 5 min) and dimethyl dicarbonate (DMDC, 83 mg/L), during the processing of Spanish style and natural table olives. Fruits processed in the Spanish style exhibited higher moisture levels, luminance, and combined acidity. On the contrary, natural olives contained more sugars, had a firmer texture, and displayed a greener colour. Our results show that applying 1-MCP, heat shock, and DMDC can positively impact the processing of Spanish style and natural table olives and influence their physicochemical characteristics. Adding DMDC to the initial brine caused colour degradation but lowered the pH. Using 1-MCP with a light heat shock improved the sugar content and luminance of olives and increased the titratable acidity in the brine. Applying 1-MCP to the Spanish style enhanced the luminosity (brightness) and, when combined with DMDC, led to the lowest pH levels. Further research at an industrial scale is necessary to validate these results and study their influence on microorganisms. The light field display technology based on panel light modulation has obvious industrial advantages. However, light field displays still causes discomfort for users in practical applications, due to issues such as angle of view, number of viewpoints, and crosstalk, etc. As a new type of high performance 2D display technology, mini/micro light emitting diode (MLED) has the potential to provide higher quality 3D display effects, but it may also bring new technological challenges. This paper provides a detailed investigation of technical principles and the latest research progress in light field display technology based on panel light modulation, and analyzes the industrial and academic research difficulties, which are brought about by the combination of MLED and naked-eye light field display. This paper is the first to complete a technical review specifically focused on MLED and naked-eye light field display, which is expected to accelerate the technological development and application process of naked-eye light field display based on MLED panels. The bioconversion of cellulose and the transformation of glycerol can yield various diols, aligning with environmental sustainability goals by reducing dependence on fossil fuels, lowering raw material costs, and promoting sustainable development. However, in the selective hydrogenolysis of glycerol to ethylene glycol (EG) and 1,2-propylene glycol (1,2-PG), challenges such as low selectivity of catalytic systems, poor stability, limited renewability, and stringent reaction conditions remain. The production of diols from cellulose involves multiple reaction steps, including hydrolysis, isomerization, retro-aldol condensation, hydrogenation, and dehydration. Consequently, the design of highly efficient catalysts with multifunctional active sites tailored to these specific reaction steps remains a significant challenge. This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the selective regulation of catalysts for producing EG and 1,2-PG from cellulose and glycerol. It discusses the reaction pathways, process methodologies, catalytic systems, and the performance of catalysts, focusing on active site characteristics. By summarizing the latest research in this field, we aim to offer a detailed understanding of the state-of-the-art in glycerol and cellulose conversion to diols and provide valuable guidance for future research and industrial applications. Through this review, we seek to clarify the current advancements and selective control strategies in diol production from glycerol or cellulose, thereby offering critical insights for future investigations and industrial scale-up. Strip steel surface defect recognition research has important research significance in industrial production. Aiming at the problems of defect feature extraction, slow detection speed, and insufficient datasets, YOLOv5 is improved on the basis of YOLOv5, and the YOLO-LFPD (lightweight fine particle detection) model is proposed. By introducing the RepVGG (Re-param VGG) module, the robustness of the model is enhanced, and the expressive ability of the model is improved. FasterNet is used to replace the backbone network, which ensures accuracy and accelerates the inference speed, making the model more suitable for real-time monitoring. The use of pruning, a GA genetic algorithm with OTA loss function, further reduces the model size while better learning the strip steel defect feature information, thus improving the generalisation ability and accuracy of the model. The experimental results show that the introduction of the RepVGG module and the use of FasterNet can well improve the model performance, with a reduction of 48% in the number of parameters, a reduction of 13% in the number of GFLOPs, an inference time of 77% of the original, and an optimal accuracy compared with the network models in recent years. The experimental results on the NEU-DET dataset show that the accuracy of YOLO-LFPD is improved by 3% to 81.2%, which is better than other models, and provides new ideas and references for the lightweight strip steel surface defect detection scenarios and application deployment. This article engages with research on UK Television (UKTV) and the wider cultural and creative industries by interrogating the role of academic research in industrial and social change. We argue that a 'reformist tendency' implicitly structures much creative industries research. This reformist tendency takes a critical approach to the problem of inequality, identifying it and making it visible, and at times developing strategies which attempt to enhance and promote greater equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI). Academic research seeking to reform the media and creative industries increasingly works in collaboration with – often relatively powerful – social actors within these industries. However, the creative industries in general and UKTV in particular, have shown a remarkable resistance to reform and remain characterised by persistent inequalities in terms of class, race, gender and disability. This article explores this problem aiming to provoke debate into the role of academic-industry collaboration in the failure of creative industries EDI. Balanced energy protein (BEP) supplementation is an efficacious intervention in pregnancy for improving birthweight and is recommended by World Health Organization (WHO) in countries with high maternal undernutrition. Few countries have implemented BEP programmes due in part to high cost, lack of data on acceptability and feasibility, and complexity of delivery. We sought to address implementation gaps in BEP interventions through a formative study designed to understand implementation outcomes. We conducted 52 in‐depth interviews and 8 focus‐group discussions with married women of reproductive age, family members, health care providers and pharmacists in three unions of the Gaibandha district in rural Bangladesh. Interviews were translated and transcribed in English and analysed using an analytic framework for implementation science in nutrition. BEP was viewed as an acceptable and appropriate intervention to combat undernutrition in this setting. There was a lack of clarity on who should or could be responsible for providing/distributing BEP in a way convenient to mothers. Many participants preferred door‐to‐door delivery and thought this approach could address social and gender inequities, but providers mentioned already being overworked and worried about adding new tasks. Participants were concerned about the affordability of BEP and opportunity costs associated with travel to proposed distribution sites such as ANC or pharmacies. Women in these communities do not always have the agency to travel without supervision or make purchasing decisions. BEP supplementation is a complex intervention; future trials seek to assess ways to overcome these implementation challenges and inform a long‐term systems‐owned BEP intervention. The multidimensional forced-choice (MFC) format is an alternative to rating scales in which participants rank items according to how well the items describe them. Currently, little is known about how to detect careless responding in MFC data. The aim of this study was to adapt a number of indices used for rating scales to the MFC format and additionally develop several new indices that are unique to the MFC format. We applied these indices to a data set from an online survey (N = 1,169) that included a series of personality questionnaires in the MFC format. The correlations among the careless responding indices were somewhat lower than those published for rating scales. Results from a latent profile analysis suggested that the majority of the sample (about 76–84%) did not respond carelessly, although the ones who did were characterized by different levels of careless responding. In a simulation study, we simulated different careless responding patterns and varied the overall proportion of carelessness in the samples. With one exception, the indices worked as intended conceptually. Taken together, the results suggest that careless responding also plays an important role in the MFC format. Relationships between difference and differential equations are examined, to understand why the applications of the first to problems of real life, are not as well developed as the applications of the second. In this goal, a review of journals devoted to both types of equations is done, strengthened by the analysis of the MSC2020-Mathematics Subject Classification System. The screening of 296 Issues of the Journal of Difference Equations and Applications published since 1995 highlights that only a low ratio of the published papers are concerned with applications, even if this ratio is slightly increasing for 27 years. An analysis of first, what are possible relationships between actual problems and difference equations, and second, what could be an application of difference equations are discussed. Adolescents and young adults continue to use e-cigarettes, and communication campaigns are needed to decrease use among these populations. We developed and tested a point-of-sale communication campaign focused on e-cigarette chemical exposure. We developed messages based on formative research and tested them (versus text-only messages) in a nationally-representative online survey among adolescents and young adults (16–25) (Phase 1). Based on survey findings, we selected a message focused on nicotine and brain development for the point-of-sale trial (Phase 2). We then conducted a cluster-randomized trial at six gas stations with convenience stores, randomly assigned to the intervention (messages displayed) or no message control condition. We conducted intercept surveys with repeated cross-sectional samples of 50 participants (ages 16–25) per store, at baseline and a four-week follow-up. Phase 1 included 1,636 participants in the online study. Intervention messages were rated as more attention grabbing than plain text messages (p <.05), though were rated similarly on other outcomes. Exposure to intervention messages resulted in larger changes from pre- to posttest for beliefs about addiction and relative harms versus cigarettes (p <.05). Phase 2 included 586 participants in the point-of-sale study. Real-world campaign exposure was low (31.8%), and no differences were found between conditions. E-cigarette prevention messages focused on nicotine's impact on brain development show promise. However, garnering attention for communication campaigns in saturated point-of-sale environments, often dominated by tobacco advertising, is challenging. Clinical research is the cornerstone of improvements in cancer care. However, it has been conducted predominantly in high-income countries with few clinical trials available in Brazil and other low-and-middle-income countries (LMIC). Of note, less than one-third of registered clinical trials addressing some of the most commonly diagnosed cancers (breast, lung and cervical) recruited patients from LMIC in the last years. The Institute Project CURA promoted the fourth CURA meeting, discussing barriers to cancer clinical research and proposing potential solutions. A meeting was held in São Paulo, Brazil, in June 2023 with representatives from different sectors: Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (Anvisa), National Commission of Ethics in Research (CONEP), non-governmental organisations, such as the Latin American Cooperative Oncology Group, the Brazilian Society of Clinical Oncology (SBOC), Contract Research Organisations, pharmaceutical companies and investigators. A total of 16 experts pointed out achievements as shortening the time of regulatory processes involving Anvisa and CONEP, development of staff training programs, maintenance of the National Program of Oncological Attention (PRONON), and the foundation of qualified centres in North and Northeast Brazilian regions. Participants also highlighted the need to be more competitive in the field, which requires optimising ongoing policies and implementing new strategies as decentralisation of clinical research centres, public awareness campaigns, community-centered approaches, collaborations and partnerships, expansion of physiciansdirected policies, exploring the role of the steering committee. Active and consistent reporting of the initiatives might help to propagate ongoing advances, increasing Brazilian participation in clinical cancer research. Engagement of all players is crucial to maintain continuous progress with further improvements in critical points including regulatory timelines and increments in qualified human resources which aligned with new educational initiatives focused on physicians and the general population will expand access to cancer clinical trials in Brazil. This work investigated the coupling of microfiltration (MF) and nanofiltration (NF) to concentrate the volatile compounds in a raspberry hydroalcoholic extract. Enzymatic treatment increased the MF permeate flux by 30%–50%. The highest MF permeate flux was above 50 kg·h−1·m−2 at a mass reduction ratio of 5. MF allowed efficient clarification of the extract without significant retention of aroma compounds. Among the NF membranes tested using the MF permeate as feed, one membrane was clearly more effective in concentrating the extract in terms of flux (19 kg·h−1·m−2 at 35 bar), retention of aroma compounds (average retention of 85%), phenolic compounds (61%) and dry matter (90%). Three other membranes were of interest for the fractionation of volatiles in both permeate and retentate but with a lower permeate flux. Finally, one membrane retained few aroma compounds but showed 70% dry matter retention, making it a promising method for aroma purification versus dry matter content in the permeate. Practical Applications: In this study, we investigated the coupling of crossflow MF and NF with a pectinolytic pretreatment, in order to concentrate the aroma compounds from a raw organic raspberry extract. The aim was to avoid aroma degradation and reduce the operating costs, compared to the conventional concentration thermal technologies. Few authors have studied aroma concentration by NF, which presents an interesting area of research for industrial applications. This work provides keys for flavor manufacturers to add value to their products at a low cost and with limited environmental impact, producing concentrated natural aroma extracts for food. Another originality of this work for industrial companies was to show that thanks to the same process, several fractionations could be achieved simply by modifying the operating conditions. Therefore, this work contributed to propose new applicable processing for the production of natural flavors in a context of high consumer and market demand for organic ingredients. Boilerplate contracts have long fascinated legal scholars. But the focus has been largely on consumer contracts, with the debate centered on the question of whether take-it-or-leave-it mass-produced forms imposed on consumers by large corporations should be treated as contracts or as a problem in regulation. By contrast, commercial boilerplate—the standard forms used in transactions for corporate or sovereign bonds or merger agreements—has traditionally received little attention. The assumption has been that form contracts among sophisticated parties may differ in form but not in substance from bespoke contracts between business entities. Yet a growing body of scholarship is questioning that assumption. In this paper, a textile defect detection method is introduced based on à trous wavelet transform. The processing procedure has two stages: training and testing. In each stage, the images are decomposed using à trous wavelet transform, and the approximate sub-bands are extracted at an appropriate level. This transform is a time-invariant transform. It is useful for several applications, such as textile defect detection. The purpose of the proposed method is to reinforce the energy of the defected area and reduce the energy of the background to allow the detection process, efficiently. The threshold values are energy estimations for rows and columns. Industrial psychology in socialist Yugoslavia and Romania is a relevant source for both labor history and the history of science/intellectual history. In this paper, we lay down the intellectual and institutional foundations of the discipline in the two contexts, including the envisaged roles for industrial psychologists working in factories and plans for expanding the profession. We argue that industrial psychologists defined the pursuit of labor productivity on the shopfloor as not just a matter of economic calculation, but also as a matter of workers’ self-realization. Their perspective on workers went beyond the measurement of their abilities and skills, taking into consideration personality features as well as inter-personal relations. In research conducted to support creativity and battle monotony at work, industrial psychologists also broadened the understanding of labor efficiency to encompass the pursuit of workers’ satisfaction. We show that research in industrial psychology was part of a broader drive to theorize work and the future of labor under socialism. Discussions of issues such as the scientific-technological revolution, the second industrial revolution, AI, cybernetization, automation, and narcomania, which we analyze in the final part of the paper, represent a rich source of Marxist intellectual reflection on the topic of labor in late socialist Eastern Europe. Introduction: As global resource demands and environmental challenges intensify, China's vast marine resources present a significant opportunity for sustainable economic development. This study investigates the impact of financial development on high-quality growth in China's marine economy across 11 coastal regions from 2011 to 2020. Methods: We examine a mediation and moderation model linking financial development and marine economic quality in China, where the marine economy increasingly relies on financial support. This study proposes marine innovation output and industrial structure upgradation as mediators, with marine capital investment as a moderator. Results: Our findings reveal that financial development significantly promotes high-quality marine economic growth, albeit with regional heterogeneity. The strongest effect is observed in the Eastern Marine Economic Zone, while the Southern Marine Economic Zone shows the weakest impact. Marine scientific research and industrial structure upgrading serve as key mediating factors, with the former demonstrating a stronger intermediary effect. Notable, marine capital investment positively moderates the relationship between financial development and marine economic growth. Discussion: This study innovatively combines macro-finance and micro-finance indicators to construct a comprehensive financial development index system. It incorporates a multi-dimensional approach to measuring high-quality development in coastal regions, challenging one-size-fits-all models by highlighting regional variations. By providing insights into specific differences and underlying mechanisms, our study offers valuable guidance for policymakers in crafting region-specific strategies to leverage financial development for sustainable marine economic growth. This contribution provides a detailed comparison of the impact of various rheological models on the filling phase of injection molding simulations in order to enhance the accuracy of flow predictions and improve material processing. The challenge of accurately modeling polymer melt flow behavior under different temperature and shear rate conditions is crucial for optimizing injection molding processes. Therefore, the study examines commonly used rheological models, including Power-Law, Second-Order, Herschel-Bulkley, Carreau and Cross models. Using experimental data for validation, the accuracy of each model in predicting the flow front and viscosity distribution for a quadratic molded part with a PA66 polymer is evaluated. The Carreau-WLF Winter model showed the highest accuracy, with the lowest RMSE values, closely followed by the Carreau model. The Second-Order model exhibited significant deviations in the edge region from experimental results, indicating its limitations. Results indicate that models incorporating both shear rate and temperature dependencies, such as Carreau-WLF Winter, provide superior predictions compared to those including only shear rate dependence. These findings suggest that selecting appropriate rheological models can significantly enhance the predictive capability of injection molding simulations, leading to better process optimization and higher quality in manufactured parts. The settling of particles is related to many industrial processes and research fields. However, due to the complex particle–particle and particle–fluid interactions, the settling mechanism of particles in flowing fluids is not fully understood. This article conducts numerical research on the settling process of two particles with different diameters in parallel in upward flow using the immersion boundary method. The numerical method was validated against experimental results including one particle settling, two parallel particles settling, and two series particles settling. The effects of large particle diameter, upward flow velocity, and initial particle spacing on the settling process were explored. The results indicate that the two particles with same diameter will repel each other when settling in upward flow. Moreover, when the diameters differ, the two particles can experience both attractive and repulsive interactions. The larger the diameter of the large particle, the stronger its attractive influence on the small particle. When the diameter of large particle d2 = 3.0d1, large particle only has an attractive effect on small particle. The wake of each particle forms a distinct velocity boundary with the upward fluid. As the upward flow velocity increases, the interactions between the two particles become increasingly intense. Gas-assisted extrusion is an effective method for improving the deformation behavior of polymer catheters during extrusion. However, the underlying mechanisms that dictate how geometrical and constitutive models influence the complex rheological behavior of the melt are not yet fully understood, which hinders further utilization and optimization. In this study, the three-dimensional (3D) gas–liquid–gas model for catheter gas-assisted extrusion was constructed. Subsequently, the Bird–Carreau model and the Phan–Thien–Tanner (PTT) model were employed in finite element numerical simulations to analyze the complex behavior. For comparative analysis, simplified two-dimensional (2D) model numerical simulations were also conducted. Additionally, experiments on catheter gas-assisted extrusion and parameterization studies of key constitutive model parameters were performed. The findings indicate that the 3D model, when integrated with the PTT constitutive model, demonstrates superior predictability and aligns more closely with experimental results. Furthermore, as the flow rate increases, discrepancies among different models diminish, and the distance required for the melt and gas to achieve motion equilibrium decreases. The internal mechanisms behind these phenomena are elucidated through the analysis of velocity and stress field distributions. This research enhances our understanding of the complex rheological behavior in polymer catheter gas-assisted extrusion, providing valuable insights for both academic research and industrial production in this field. In the rapidly evolving landscape of academic and industrial research, integrating Information Technology (IT) and Multi-Competence (MC) has become crucial for enhancing research quality (RQ). Despite growing recognition of their importance, the mechanisms through which IT and MC influence RQ, particularly through mediating tools like the Research Model Canvas (RM), remain underexplored. This study investigates the relationships between IT, MC, and RQ, with a specific focus on the mediating role of RM. The objective is to identify how IT and MC contribute to improving RQ and determine how much RM facilitates this process. A purposive sampling method was used to select 110 respondents, and data were collected through structured surveys and in-depth interviews. The data were analysed using Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS 4, a robust statistical tool for examining complex variable relationships. The findings reveal that while IT directly enhances RQ, it does not significantly affect RM, nor does RM mediate its effect on RQ. Conversely, MC significantly improves RM, which fully mediates its positive impact on RQ, highlighting the critical role of RM in translating competencies into research quality. The implications of this research suggest that organizations aiming to enhance research quality should focus on directly leveraging IT and utilizing strategic frameworks like RM to effectively channel multi-competence resources into improved research outcomes. The Great Reset is a concept proposed by the World Economic Forum to rebuild the global economy sustainably following the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasising stakeholder capitalism, greener practices, and more equitable social contracts. However, most of the literature focuses on the role of business and government actors in the Great Reset. At the same time, research that considers the role of higher education institutions (HEIs) is lacking. However, HEIs have the significant capacity to support various aspects of the Great Reset. In this work, we examine different mechanisms by which HEIs could bring change, such as fostering the growth of workforce skills, promoting entrepreneurship and innovation, participating in community development and others. A survey on a sample of university professors, postdoctoral researchers, and research assistants has been conducted with the goal of evaluating the degree to which HEIs have played a role in influencing economic recovery after COVID-19, leveraging the industry 4.0, enhancing regional development, revitalising global cooperation, formulating sustainable business models, restoring environmental well-being, and restructuring social contracts, skills, and employment opportunities. A two-step cluster analysis has been conducted, indicating that HEIs played different roles in the Great Reset process, being the Leaders, Followers and Laggers. We found a significant difference between the various groups of respondents according to their scientific field, position, and region regarding the perception of the role played by their HEIs in influencing economic recovery after COVID-19. The position of the respondents contributed to their perception of the role that their HEIs participated in the process of the Great Reset, with the assistant professors perceiving the most often that their HEIs are Leaders. Additionally, the scientific field and region of the HEI also impacted their role in the Great Reset, with the HEIs from technology and countries outside of Europe being the Leaders most often. A growing number of scalable and distributed methods are required to effectively simulate complicated events as computing needs in the research and industrial sectors keep growing. A novel approach for developing and accessing mathematically modeled methods in heterogeneous computing clusters is proposed in this study to meet this difficulty. This paper explores and presents the importance and application of the Design of Experiments (DOE) method in scientific and industrial research. It analysed the theoretical foundations of the method in detail and then illustrated concrete examples as well as benefits of its use in an automotive environment. The introduction outlined the key principles and objectives of the DOE method, including optimisation of experimental processes and minimisation of variability of results. The publication focused on the significant impact of this method in improving the efficiency of experiments and achieving reliable and reproducible results. The practical part of the paper presented concrete examples of the application of the DOE method in the automotive industry. Through this case study, it was highlighted how the DOE method enables the systematic investigation of the influence of different factors on experimental results, leading to a better understanding of the phenomena under investigation and an increase in process efficiency. Emphasis was also placed on the practical aspects of using the DOE method, including the design of experimental plans and the analysis of the data obtained. As far as health benefit is concerned, dark tea is one of the best beverages in the world. Theabrownins are the major ingredient contributing to the health benefits of dark tea and known as "the soft gold in dark tea." A growing body of evidence indicated that theabrownins are macromolecular pigments with reddish-brown color and mellow taste, and mainly derived from the oxidative polymerization of tea polyphenols. Theabrownins are the main active ingredients in dark tea which brings multiple health-promoting effects in modulating lipid metabolism, reducing body weight gain, attenuating diabetes, mitigating NAFLD, scavenging ROS, and preventing tumors. More importantly, it's their substantial generation in microbial fermentation that endows dark tea with much stronger hypolipidemic effect compared with other types of tea. This review firstly summarizes the most recent findings on the preparation, structural characteristics, and health-promoting effects of theabrownins, emphasizing the underlying molecular mechanism, especially the different mechanisms behind the effect of theabrownins-mediated gut microbiota on the host's multiple health-promoting benefits. Furthermore, this review points out the main limitations of current research and potential future research directions, hoping to provide updated scientific evidence for their better theoretical research and industrial utilization. The escalating threat of anthropogenic climate change has spurred an urgent quest for innovative CO2 capture and utilization (CCU) technologies. Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged as prominent candidates in CO2 capture and conversion due to their large specific surface area, well-defined porous structure, and tunable chemical properties. This review unveils the latest advancements in MOF-based materials specifically designed for superior CO2 adsorption, precise separation, advanced photocatalytic and electrocatalytic CO2 reduction, progressive CO2 hydrogenation, and dual functionalities. We explore the strategies that enhance MOF efficiency and examine the challenges of and opportunities afforded by transitioning from laboratory research to industrial application. Background: This study demonstrates how formative process evaluation was used to assess implementation and improve dose and fidelity in the Together Everyone Achieves More Physical Activity (TEAM-PA) randomized controlled trial. TEAM-PA uses a randomized group cohort design to evaluate the efficacy of a group-based intervention for increasing physical activity among African American women. Methods: Intervention groups met for 10 weeks and were co-led by female African American facilitators, with intervention sessions consisting of group feedback, a health curriculum, group-based physical activity games, and group-based goal-setting. Drawing from a multi-theoretical framework, the intervention targeted social affiliation using collaborative and competitive group strategies, including essential elements focused on group-based behavioral skills, peer-to-peer positive communication, collectivism, optimal challenge, social facilitation, and peer to peer challenges. Formative process evaluation was used to monitor reach, dose, and fidelity, and implement feedback and solutions. Results: Across two cohorts, four groups (n = 54) were randomized to the TEAM-PA intervention. On average 84.8% of participants attended each week, which exceeded the a priori criteria. Results from the systematic observations indicated that on average 93% of the dose items were completed in each session and adequate levels of fidelity were achieved at both the facilitator and group-levels. Participants were compliant with wearing the FitBits (6.73 ± 0.42 days/week) and most participants successfully contributed to meeting the group-based goals. The use of open-ended items also revealed the need for additional modifications to the group-based PA games, including allowing for individuals to take breaks, incorporating a broader range of exercises, minimizing activities that required bending/reaching down without assistance, and providing facilitators with additional training for implementing the games. Initial evidence suggests that these changes were successful in increasing participants' comprehension of the games from Cohort 1 (M = 1.83, SD = 0.71) to Cohort 2 (M = 3.33, SD = 0.69). Conclusion: Findings from this study demonstrated high levels of reach, dose, and fidelity, while also highlighting strategies for implementing competitive group-based PA games that are accessible across physical fitness levels. Formative process evaluation, including open-ended items and collaborative brainstorming, holds tremendous potential for improving future interventions. Compared with the conventional emulsification method, droplets generated within microfluidic devices exhibit distinct advantages such as precise control of fluids, exceptional monodispersity, uniform morphology, flexible manipulation, and narrow size distribution. These inherent benefits, including intrinsic safety, excellent heat and mass transfer capabilities, and large surface‐to‐volume ratio, have led to the widespread applications of droplet‐based microfluidics across diverse fields, encompassing chemical engineering, particle synthesis, biological detection, diagnostics, emulsion preparation, and pharmaceuticals. However, despite its promising potential for versatile applications, the practical utilization of this technology in commercial and industrial is extremely limited to the inherently low production rates achievable within a single microchannel. Over the past two decades, droplet‐based microfluidics has evolved significantly, considerably transitioning from a proof‐of‐concept stage to industrialization. And now there is a growing trend towards translating academic research into commercial and industrial applications, primarily driven by the burgeoning demands of various fields. To increase the understanding of how the external environment impact the local industrial development, this study builds a conceptual framework of industrial evolutionary development by integrating evolutionary and developmental theories from the perspective of evolutionary economic geography. This study emphasised the combination of two mechanisms. The first evolutionary mechanism consisting of variation, selection and retention, and the diversity within and between enterprise clusters serves as the starting point for evolution. The external environment selects and retains the most competitive enterprises under the mechanism of selection. The second developmental mechanism is the influence of the external environment on enterprises. The external environment screens and affects the development of firms at and across multiple levels, same level and across levels. Based on the case studies of the e‐sports industry in China, this study finds that technological development has driven the transformation of the e‐sports industry. Additionally, location cost, spatial proximity, local policy, urban strategy and national planning have been identified as crucial factors that influence the location choice of the e‐sports industry. In this paper, derived from the proportional–derivative control and robust control, a novel practical robust control method based on a dynamic feedforward model is established by taking six-axis motion cooperative industrial robots as the research object. The nonlinear friction, parameter uncertainty, and external disturbance are taken into consideration while establishing the dynamic model of the cooperative industrial robot. The method includes a proportional–derivative control and a robust control. Lyapunov theory is used to analyze the proposed controller, and it is shown that this method can guarantee uniformly bounded and uniformly final bounded systems. Simulation and experiment results show that the proposed controller is better than proportional–integral–derivative control and mode-based proportional–derivative control in stability tracking performance and robustness. Perovskite oxides, particularly double perovskite oxides, have drawn significant research interest within the fields of solid‐state chemistry and materials science. As a quintessential double perovskite oxide, Sr2Fe1.5Mo0.5O6‐δ (SFM) has unique electronic, magnetic, and catalytic properties. These attributes make it a promising candidate for energy conversion and storage applications. This review offers a comprehensive overview of advancements using SFM across various applications, including solid oxide cells, protonic ceramic cells, and electrocatalysis. Notably, the review highlights emerging optimization strategies that enhance functionality based on a fundamental understanding of the reaction mechanisms. The review concludes by discussing the persistent challenges facing SFM‐based functional materials, as well as their prospects, considering both fundamental research and industrial applications. Despite the struggles for design disciplines to confront their colonial legacies and practices, the question remains: who can truly afford a decolonizing practice worthy of the name? This paper will investigate why Industrial Design, as a discipline, has been glaringly absent from the decolonial conversation, and the critical institutional gaps between decolonial thought and action. I will investigate the pragmatic relations between labor, value, care work, and social reproduction within the political economy of design that dissuade and constrain the discipline from articulating its responsibility to transform its social and material realities. In setting this provocation, I argue that if decolonizing design is to be anything more than an epistemological curiosity, moving beyond the niche corners of design academia, it will need a diverse ecology of accomplices—to imagine other lives for itself and become other beings. Miniature spectrometer is powerful tool for scientific research and industrial inspection. Here, we report the fabrication of graded perovskite filters with tunable bandgap and their application in constructing miniature spectrometer. The graded perovskite filters were fabricated using a Finkelstein reaction between in-situ formed halogen ion with a preformed MAPbX3 film. The graded bandgap of perovskite films can be well tunned from 400 to 750 nm by controlling the volume ratio between 5,5-dimethyl-1-pyrroline N-oxide and benzyl chloride(bromide). By combining a deep residual network, graded bandgap perovskite film and commercial CMOS sensor chip, a miniature spectrometer is demonstrated, achieving an accurate spectrum reconstruction (PSNR = 40.749) with monochromatic spectral resolution of 1.31 nm. LNOI devices have emerged as prominent contributors to photonic integrated circuits (PICs), benefiting from their outstanding performance in electro-optics, acousto-optics, nonlinear optics, etc. Due to the physical properties and current etching technologies of LiNbO3, slanted sidewalls are typically formed in LNOI waveguides, causing polarization-related mode hybridization and crosstalk. Despite the low losses achieved with fabrication advancements in LNOI, such mode hybridization and crosstalk still significantly limit the device performance by introducing polarization-related losses. In this paper, we propose a vertically etched LNOI construction. By improving the geometrical symmetry in the waveguides, vertical sidewalls could adequately mitigate mode hybridization in common waveguide cross sections. Taking tapers and bends as representatives of PIC components, we then conducted theoretical modeling and simulations, which showed that vertical etching effectively exempts devices from polarization-related mode crosstalk. This not only improves the polarization purity and input mode transmittance but also enables lower polarization-related losses within more compact structures. As a demonstration of fabrication feasibility, we innovatively proposed a two-step fabrication technique, and successfully fabricated waveguides with vertical sidewalls. Such vertical etching technology facilitates the development of next-generation high-speed modulators, nonlinear optical devices, and other advanced photonic devices with lower losses and a smaller footprint, driving further innovations in both academic research and industrial applications. Multi-access edge computing (MEC) has attracted the interest of the research and industrial community to support Internet of things (IoT) applications by enabling efficient data processing and minimizing latency. This paper presents significant contributions toward optimizing the resource allocation and enhancing the decision-making process in edge computing environments. Specifically, the TRUST-ME model is introduced, which consists of multiple edge servers and IoT devices, i.e., users, with varied computing tasks offloaded to the MEC servers. A utility function was designed to quantify the benefits in terms of latency and cost for the IoT device while utilizing the MEC servers' computing capacities. The core innovation of our work is a novel trust model that was designed to evaluate the IoT devices' confidence in MEC servers. This model integrates both direct and indirect trust and reflects the trustworthiness of the servers based on the direct interactions and social feedback from other devices using the same servers. This dual trust approach helps with accurately gauging the reliability of MEC services and ensuring more informed decision making. A reinforcement learning framework based on the optimistic Q-learning with an upper confidence bounds action selection algorithm enables the IoT devices to autonomously select a MEC server to process their computing tasks. Also, a multilateral bargaining model is proposed for fair resource allocation of the MEC servers' computing resources to the users while accounting for their computing demands. Numerical simulations demonstrated the operational effectiveness, convergence, and scalability of the TRUST-ME model, which was validated through real-world scenarios and comprehensive comparative evaluations against existing approaches. High-precision displacement sensing has been widely used across both scientific research and industrial applications. The recent interests in developing micro-opto-electro-mechanical systems (MOEMS) have given rise to an excellent platform for miniaturized displacement sensors. Advancement in this field during past years is now yielding integrated high-precision sensors which show great potential in applications ranging from photoacoustic spectroscopy to high-precision positioning and automation. The enhancement of regional comprehensive development ability is significantly impacted by the study on the implementation effect of regional integration strategies. The integration strategy's impact on urban development during COVID-19 in the Yangtze River Delta(YRD) is unclear. According to prior industrial transfer theory, Hefei, Anhui's capital, is difficult to transfer industries, and other YRD cities push industry integration in Anhui. This study employs the theory of economic and land resource use to examine the resilience of the industrial economy during an epidemic by using industrial land as a representation of industrial economic development. The three cities in Anhui—Wuhu, Maanshan, and Chuzhou (Wu-ma-Chu) were selected as the research area. The study employed the UNet deep learning method to detect the land use types in Wu-ma-Chu. The land transfer matrix and the standard deviation ellipse were utilised to research the alterations in industrial land use and the spatial distribution of industrial output value, respectively. The results showed that the industrial land in Machu continued to grow during the outbreak, highlighting the resilience of the region's industrial economy. During 2019–2022, the elliptical ring of industrial output value is distributed in Nanjing, revealing the radiating role of Nanjing in integrating into the integration of the YRD. This confirms China's YRD integration strategy, strengthens regional economic resilience, and encourages coordinated regional economic development. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: The pharmaceutical sector in Pakistan has grown over a period with export potential, however, there are certain barriers in the framework that regulate the growth and export of domestically manufactured pharmaceuticals. The purpose of this study was to highlight the current challenges that hinder the export of pharmaceuticals, especially to the countries with stringent regulatory authorities (SRA), as perceived by the domestic pharmaceutical industry experts, and to highlight the facilitators that may help to resolve the identified challenges. Methods: In a qualitative study, the data were collected from the consented experts from the pharmaceutical industries in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta. Industrial experts with a minimum of 10 years of experience and who were serving at managerial levels or above were recruited through purposive sampling. The semi-structured interviews were conducted for the collection of data from industrial experts. Thematic content analysis was applied to conclude the data. Results: Data analysis generated 4 themes and 16 codes. The export of pharmaceuticals, despite having greater potential was regarded as poor, which was attributed to the following: (a) inadequate industrial research and development, particularly on new molecules (b) non-compliance with the cGMP standards, (c) absence of high-tech equipment, (d) unwillingness of the pharmaceutical companies for bioequivalence studies on their generics, (e) unavailability of locally manufactured active pharmaceutical ingredients, (f) disruption in the supply of imported raw material, (g) poor international market perception about local pharmaceutical products and (h) lack of support from regulatory in process expedition. The respondents also suggested the measures for overcoming the above challenges to boost the export of domestic pharmaceuticals and expand their international market share in countries with SRA. Conclusion: Export from Pakistan to the SRA countries can be enhanced with mandatory bioequivalence studies during generic registration. The post-deployment challenges in developing and upgrading blockchain smart contracts necessitate a high level of accuracy in their development and business logic. However, current methodologies for verifying the business logic of smart contracts frequently fail to address their alignment with end-user business requirements. This paper introduces a two-step language transformation process to bridge this gap. Initially, we establish a transformation rule from the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) to Prolog, enabling the translation of business processes into a Prolog representation. This step not only validates the business process logic but also ensures it meets user specifications. Subsequently, we introduce a transformation rule from the BPMN to Go, which facilitates the transformation of the BPMN model, once validated, into a Go language smart contract. To enhance usability, we have engineered a dedicated tool that streamlines this transformation process. We present a case study involving a banking loan process to exemplify the utility of our tool in creating BPMN diagrams, conducting requirement and syntax validations, and effecting the transformation to Go smart contracts. The case study and empirical results suggest that our methodology and the accompanying tool mitigate the complexities inherent in smart contract development. Euglena gracilis (E. gracilis), pivotal in the study of photosynthesis, endosymbiosis, and chloroplast development, is also an industrial microalga for paramylon production. Despite its importance, E. gracilis genome exploration faces challenges due to its intricate nature. In this study, we achieved a chromosome-level de novo assembly (2.37 Gb) using Illumina, PacBio, Bionano, and Hi-C data. The assembly exhibited a contig N50 of 619 Kb and scaffold N50 of 1.12 Mb, indicating superior continuity. Approximately 99.83% of the genome was anchored to 46 chromosomes, revealing structural insights. Repetitive elements constituted 58.84% of the sequences. Functional annotations were assigned to 39,362 proteins, enhancing interpretative power. BUSCO analysis confirmed assembly completeness at 80.39%. This first high-quality E. gracilis genome offers insights for genetics and genomics studies, overcoming previous limitations. Background: The ecological validity associated with usability testing of health information technologies (HITs) can affect test results and the predictability of real-world performance. It is, therefore, necessary to identify conditions with the greatest effect on validity. Method: We conducted a comparative analysis of two usability testing conditions. We tested a HIT designed for anesthesiologists to detect pain signals and compared two fidelity levels of ecological validity. We measured the difference in the number and type of use errors identified between high and low-fidelity experimental conditions. Results: We identified the same error types in both test conditions, although the number of errors varied as a function of the condition. The difference in total error counts was relatively modest and not consistent across levels of severity. Conclusions: Increasing ecological validity does not invariably increase the ability to detect use errors. Our findings suggest that low-fidelity tests are an efficient way to identify and mitigate usability issues affecting ease of use, effectiveness, and safety. We believe early low-fidelity testing is an efficient but underused way to maximize the value of usability testing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

How does the goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050 influence our understanding of green industrial policy? While industrial policy has moved to the forefront of climate debates, the literature provides conflicting messages about good practices for developing and implementing it effectively. By reviewing key theoretical perspectives informing research on green industrial policy and key reports that model a net-zero future, we argue that looking through a net-zero lens clarifies some of these debates and underscores the need for a politically sensitive understanding of the role of the state in the economy. This article contributes to the literature by taking a holistic perspective on the politics of green industrial policy and identifying promising policy guidelines in building a prosperous net zero economy by 2050. The unique properties offered by the presence of micro-additives Nb, V, Ti in these steels are widely used in a variety of constructions -- from the automotive industry, through the transport of media such as oil or gas, to large structures. Unfortunately, much of the research only concerns the theoretical sphere or does not go beyond the area of semi-industrial research. Research on an industrial scale, supported by industrial trials, is relatively scarce. This is certainly due to the very high costs of such research, but also to the rather limited number of places where HSLA steels are mass produced. This paper presents and systematizes research from the last three years into the thermo-mechanical rolling of HSLA steels. The review is divided according to the successive stages of the production process. The work forms the author's basis for further research in this area. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
