(1) Background: The pandemic lowered by 10% the psychological wellness among adolescents worldwide. (2) Methods: This observational retrospective study compared the demographic and clinical variables of male and female adolescents hospitalized in an acute psychiatric ward during the pre-pandemic, from 1 July 2017 to 28 February 2020, and the pandemic/post-pandemic, from 1 March 2020 to 30 June 2023. (3) Results: In total, 153 adolescents of 15.8 years on average (±1.14 DS) were more frequently hospitalized (n = 131, 54.4%) in the pre-pandemic than in the pandemic/post-pandemic (n = 110, 45.6%), but female hospitalizations increased in the post-pandemic more than male hospitalizations (62.9% vs. 37.1%) (Pearson Chi2 = 8.54, p = 0.003); in the pandemic/post-pandemic, we reported increased aggressive behavior and schizophrenia spectrum and emotional disorders in males, whereas in females, depressive and emotional disorders were prevalent; more adolescents previously treated in Child Mental Health Services were hospitalized in the pandemic/post-pandemic period; and males hospitalized in the study period reported higher Health of the Nation Outcome Scales for Children and Adolescents (HoNOSCA) scores. (4) Conclusions: In the pandemic/post-pandemic, females more frequently required hospitalizations for depressive behavior and males for aggressive behavior and schizophrenia spectrum disorders, whereas, in both males and females, hospitalizations due to emotional disorders increased. Our results suggest the need for mental health prevention in adolescents, who represent the most vulnerable population in the case of disaster. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

After the end of the COVID 19 outbreak, the authors summarise the measures taken by the European Union to ensure the continuity of food supply and the functioning of the food chain during the outbreak. In addition to the EU measures, the specific measures followed by the Member States and their room for manoeuvre are presented using the Hungarian example. __________ Tras el fin del brote de COVID 19, los autores resumen las medidas adoptadas por la Unión Europea para garantizar la continuidad del suministro de alimentos y el funcionamiento de la cadena alimentaria durante el brote. Además de las medidas de la UE, se presentan las medidas específicas seguidas por los Estados miembros y su margen de maniobra utilizando el ejemplo húngaro. En este artículo también hemos intentado elaborar las implicaciones para la Política Agrícola Europea y, en consecuencia, para la Agricultura Europea. La literatura que hemos elaborado también cubre los procesos del mercado agrícola y las implicaciones para las áreas rurales. Sin embargo, este artículo se centra en las implicaciones de la legislación en el derecho público húngaro y en las cuestiones prácticas de su aplicación de la sentencia húngara. Nuestro artículo también analiza el vínculo entre la sequía extrema del año 2022 y la pandemia. The aim of the paper is to present the course of the COVID-19 pandemic in Poland and measures undertaken in order to prevent the spread of the disease and mitigate its results. The specific objective concerns evaluation of anti-crisis measures enacted during the pandemic in Poland.

Existing trends are pushing for the emergence of new approaches in the organization of congress and exhibition events, the work of exhibition complexes in Russia and the world. The development of the industry is aimed at introducing a hybrid format of participation, which emphasizes the potential and importance of exhibitions for the restoration of the economic state of the state. The congress and exhibition industry plays the role of a locomotive for industrial, technological, economic, scientific and innovative directions. The successful functioning of the industry is important for achieving a synergistic effect on the socio-economic development of the state and regions. Through congress and exhibition events, the state receives an additional source of income for the federal and regional budgets. Based on the research of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs, in Russia, congress and exhibition events generate about 3.2 trillion rubles or 3 % of the state’s GDP.

The article demonstrates the possibilities of corporate governance methods and investment decision-making models for the cultural organizations and events (on the examples of federal theaters). Financial and investment analysis was applied in the study. The article discusses the hypothesis of the possibility of balancing budgets for new theatrical productions, taking the rehearsal period, premiere and running as a whole. The productions are not considered as deadweight losses, but are analysed as assets with risky returns. The results of the financial analysis of the staging activities of the leading theaters demonstrate their limited possibilities in balancing the budgets for new productions. The most popular performance (with an average ticket price above the market and a stable occupancy rate of over 90 %) requires at least 5–6 years of active running to recoup the initial investment. The author’s are expected to help the performing arts organizations to identify and assess losses during the pandemic crisis. The scientific novelty is to the approach to calculating and forecasting the return on production costs.

The article demonstrates the cost-output-profit method possibilities for use by cultural organisations, studies the hypothetical cost recovery possibility from entertainment events, develops practical tools for their financial analytics. Managerial and financial analysis, econometric and graphical construction functions methods have been used. The “proof to the contrary” methods have been applied to investigate the performing arts organisations unprofitability, first substantiated by W. Baumol and W. Bowen. With regard to cultural organisations in the conditions of two-year epidemiological restrictions, a normative threshold occupancy of the hall has been established. Retaining a certain revenue share from ticket sales is not enough to cover current rental costs. In this context, economic performance analytics (operational leverage calculation, break-even analysis) is necessary to analyse the performing arts organisations losses in a pandemic. On the example of the “increased demand” performance, the hypothesis on the existence of a break-even point in which incomes and expenses are balanced has been rejected. The novelty of the study lies in fact that different methods of calculating production costs for theatres have been summarised and a methodology for checking the break-even points existence for organising entertainment events in the long and short term has been presented.

The 2008/2009 global economic recession and the Covid-19 pandemic fuelled a heap of social and economic problems, including growing youth unemployment and inactivity. Amidst this pressing conjuncture, female youngsters living in economically deprived regions have been affected the most. The paper in hand studies the changing analogies between young women that are "Not in Employment, Education or Training" (the so-called NEETs) and young men of the same status, between 2008 and 2020, across the regions of four EU South countries. By employing a mixed-methods approach, namely analysing quantitative indices and semi-structured interviews, we put the gender divisions and the geographically uneven distribution of NEETs under thorough scrutiny. Furthermore, by adopting a spatially-sensitive perspective, the paper elucidates key underlying factors behind NEETs' persistence in some of the EU's least-prosperous regions. Along with several structural and institutional factors, peripherality, regional specialization and gender divisions are indicated as crucial, though commonly neglected, dimensions of contemporary youth disengagement. The spread of COVID-19 has led to the enforcement of physical distancing measures. The purpose of the paper is to understand the effect of these measures and lifestyle changes on the role and importance of balconies in Egypt. A literature review was conducted to understand the effect of pandemics on the built environment and the role of balconies throughout history and during the current pandemic. An online survey was then used to provide a deep understanding on the Egyptians' perception of home balconies after the pandemic. The pandemic has led to spending more time at home and in balconies. In Egypt, privacy, noise, pollution, and lack of furniture were the main limitations in using balconies. The most frequent activities carried out in balconies were socializing and solitary activities. These activities require quiet and private balconies that away from pollution and large enough to accommodate a seating area. The survey is not limited to a specific area, as it aims to provide an understanding of the different perception of balconies in different areas in Egypt. Research that studies the impact of COVID-19 on home design, architecture and even daily lifestyle in Egypt is very limited. Findings of research concerning post-pandemic architecture and home design over the world can not to be applied in the context of Egypt. The process of determining the auction winner for a goods / services procurement project ends with the issuance of SPPBJ by PPK. The purpose of this study is to analyze the legally binding force of the Goods / Services Provider Appointment Letter (SPPBJ) in government procurement contracts of goods / services, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. The results showed that before the contract for the procurement of goods / services was signed by the PPK and the provision of goods / services, the SPPBJ that had been issued by the function of executing the auctioned work provided that there were no objections from other participants and the rebuttal period had ended. SPPBJ acts as a binding contract, where SPPBJ is very much needed because the contract may be canceled or transferred due to refocusing of activities and relocation of budgets due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic as it is today. There needs to be a more stringent regulation in the SPPBJ issuance process to deal with irregularities that may still occur, which is carried out by PPK.

Restrictive measures, protection measures such as wearing masks, remote work, all meant to limit the explosive growth in the incidence of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), have changed people's habits, lifestyles and professional activities. These unexpected and turbulent times have also affected several sectors, such as culture and education, which had to adapt and adjust in order to continue to provide services, but within some limits. Having as background the results of a previous case study developed between 2017 and 2019, this paper aims to analyse whether the cultural features of the newest teachers in the field of sport and physical education science have changed under the impact of the pandemic. Using four of the cultural dimensions of Hofstede's model, an instrument validated at national level in Romania, as well as data collected in the 2020-2021 school year from a group of 32 people (included in a master's programme in the field of sport and physical education science), this paper compares the cultural profile of sport specialists before and during the pandemic. The results show that there are some differences only for two cultural dimensions, namely Masculinity versus Femininity and Power Distance. However, as the spread of coronavirus disease at community level has not yet been stopped, it is very likely that these differences will deepen, greatly affecting pedagogical and managerial practices in schools.
