Comprehensive Summary: pH is an important stimuli‐responsive signal because deprotonation‐protonation process is crucial for many life functions. Photoacid is a kind of photoresponsive group that can release protons upon irradiation. This property makes invasive pH control can be replaced by noninvasive light control. However, photoacid is rare. In this work, macrocyclic calixpyridinium was found to be used as a photoacid to release protons from acidic methylene under the irradiation of a 254 nm UV lamp. When the solution of calixpyridinium−disulfonated xantphos aggregates were irradiated by a 254 nm portable UV lamp, disulfonated xantphos was able to receive the protons released from calixpyridinium. This noninvasive photocontrolled proton transfer not only replaces an invasive pH regulation but also achieves a synergistic function. The deprotonation of calixpyridinium and the protonation of disulfonated xantphos can occur simultaneously to disrupt the aggregates. Moreover, the photoresponsive disassembly is reversible by heating. This photoresponsive material was further applied as a photocontrolled release model. In addition, a dissipative assembly was successfully designed based on this photoresponsive disassembly. This study supplies a generalized strategy to construct pH‐responsive biocompatible materials with light‐control properties by using macrocyclic calixpyridinium and its matched various guests in water. Comprehensive Summary: Near‐infrared (NIR)‐absorbing polymerized small molecule acceptors (PSMAs) based on a Y‐series backbone (such as PY‐IT) have been widely developed to fabricate efficient all‐polymer solar cells (all‐PSCs). However, medium‐bandgap PSMAs are often overlooked, while they as the third component can be expected to boost power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of all‐PSCs, mainly due to their up‐shifted lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energy level, complimentary absorption, and diverse intermolecular interaction compared to the NIR‐absorbing host acceptor. Herein, an IDIC‐series medium‐bandgap PSMA (P‐ITTC) is developed and introduced as the third component into D18/PY‐IT host, which can not only form complementary absorption and cascade energy level, but also finely optimize active layer morphology. Therefore, compared to the D18/PY‐IT based parental all‐PSCs, the ternary all‐PSCs based on D18/PY‐IT:P‐ITTC obtain an increased exciton dissociation, charge transport, carrier lifetime, as well as suppressed charge recombination and energy loss. As a result, the ternary all‐PSCs achieve a high PCE of 17.64% with a photovoltage of 0.96 V, both of which are among the top values in layer‐by‐layer typed all‐PSCs. An adaptable Fe(II) tetrahedral cage, [Fe4L4][BF4]8 (L=tris(4‐(((E)‐pyridin‐2‐ylmethylene)amino)phenyl) phosphate), has been synthesised via self‐assembly. By modulating the orientation of its pendant P=O groups, the cage was found to be capable of encapsulating anionic, neutral, and cationic guests, which were confirmed in the solid state via single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction (SCXRD) and in solution by high‐resolution mass spectroscopy (HR‐MS), as well as by NMR (1H, 19F, 31P) studies where possible. Host‐guest conjugate is a promising strategy for providing outstanding molecules. Herein, we designed host‐guest conjugate HG1, which comprises a hydrophilic host unit, tetraaza[2.2.1.2.2.1]paracyclophane CPX2 with a microhydrophobic cavity, and a guest unit, 2,3‐naphthalimide fused with two benzothiophenes G1 exhibiting fluorosolvatochromism, linked with an oxyethylene chain. HG1 initially showed a fluorescence band at 585 nm in MeOH/H2O (1/499 v/v); however, this band decreased with time, and instead, a new band at 430 nm appeared. The CIE chromaticity diagram showed that the fluorescent color changed from yellow‐orange to blue via white. NMR analysis of HG1 in methanol‐d4 exhibited different signals of the G1 unit between the blue and yellow fluorescent structures. The blue fluorescent structures showed asymmetrical signals assigned as the G1 unit, affected by the cavity environment of the CPX2 unit. Consequently, HG1 can form two conformations: In‐form and Out‐form. In In‐form, the G1 unit is inside the hydrophobic cavity of the CPX2 unit and shows blue fluorescence. In Out‐form, the G1 unit is outside the CPX2 unit and shows yellow fluorescence in an aqueous solvent. Mechanically interlocked molecules, such as rotaxanes, have drawn significant attention within supramolecular chemistry. Although a variety of macrocycles have been thoroughly explored in rotaxane synthesis, metal‐organic macrocycles remain relatively under‐investigated. Aluminum molecular rings, with their inner cavities and numerous binding sites, present a promising option for constructing rotaxanes. Here, we introduce an innovative "ring‐donor⋅⋅⋅axle‐acceptor" motif utilizing Al8 molecular rings, enabling the stepwise assembly of molecules, complexes, and polymers through tailored coordination chemistry. El‐Sayed rule highlights the important role of heteroatoms (e.g., N, O, and S) and the corresponding nπ* transition in designing efficient organic phosphors. Nevertheless, for some heteroatom‐rich fluorophores, their phosphorescence is quite weak (e.g., fluorescein), since the nπ* components are absent in the whole transitions. Here, these chromophores (mainly with n electron‐containing twisted structure) are found doping into the boric acid (BA) matrix can activate the nπ* transition for efficient afterglow luminescence. For example, doping purely green‐emitting fluorescein into BA yielded a high afterglow quantum yield (≈24%) and a long‐lasting, blue‐shifted cyan afterglow (>10 s). The covalent/non‐covalent interactions between the BA matrix and the guests resulted in twisting the n electron‐containing structure to promote the spin‐orbit coupling process, leading to the generation of new excited state triplet transition pathways. Harvesting triplet excitons of heavy atom‐free purely organic chromophores under aerated conditions is challenging due to the quenching of long‐lived triplet states by molecular oxygen and vibrational dissipation. Herein, we show a supramolecular approach of triplet harvesting via mitigating quenching pathways of a triplet harvester. Specifically, we used a host–guest system based on 2,3 : 6,7‐naphthalene bis(dicarboximide)‐derived cyclophane (NBICy) and carbazole derivative (EtCz). Complexation studies and single‐crystal X‐ray analysis showed the formation of a rigid host–guest complex (K≈104 M−1 in CCl4), resulting in triplet‐exciton stabilization under aerated conditions via mitigating vibrational interference and oxygen quenching. Photophysical studies elucidate the delayed fluorescence emission from the charge‐transfer state (1CT) with a quantum yield (QY) of 6–8 % under ambient conditions which increased up to 36 % in an inert atmosphere. Type I main‐chain polyrotaxanes (PRs) with multiple wheels threaded onto the axle are widely employed to design slide‐ring materials. However, Type II main‐chain PRs with axles threading into the macrocycles on the polymer backbones have rarely been studied, although they feature special topological structures and dynamic characteristics. Herein, we report the design and preparation of Type II main‐chain PR‐based mechanically interlocked networks (PRMINs), based on which the relationship between microscopic motion of mechanical bonds on the PRs and macroscopic mechanical performance of materials has been revealed. The representative PRMIN‐2 exhibits a robust feature in tensile tests with high stretchability (1680 %) and toughness (47.5 MJ/m3). Moreover, it also has good puncture performance with puncture energy of 22.0 mJ. Detailed rheological measurements and coarse‐grained molecular dynamics (CGMD) simulation reveal that the embedded multiple [2]rotaxane mechanical bonds on the PR backbones of PRMINs could undergo a synergistic long‐range sliding motion under external force, with the introduction of collective dangling chains into the network. As a result, the synchronized motions of coherent PR chains can be readily activated to accommodate network deformation and efficiently dissipate energy, thereby leading to enhanced mechanical performances of PRMINs. Here, we introduce a chiral perturbation approach using a combination of chiral binaphthol and phenoselenazine derivative to achieve CPP. The photoactivated CPP in polystyrene (PS) film demonstrates a luminescence dissymmetry factor (glum), emission efficiency, and RTP lifetime up to 9.32 × 10–3, 27.0%, and 40.0 ms, respectively. We synthesized a planar macrocyclic dinuclear nickel(II) metallohost from the corresponding macrocyclic imine ligand containing two N2O2 chelate coordination sites and an O6 cation binding site like 18‐crown‐6 as well as peripheral hexyl groups. Due to the lipophilic nature of the hexyl groups, the metallohost was soluble in less polar media where its interaction with alkali metal ions was enhanced. The binding studies by NMR spectroscopy clearly showed its strong tendency to form multi‐layered structures. The metallohost formed 2 : 1 and 1 : 1 (host/guest) complexes with Na+ with the two‐step binding constants of logK1=6.6 and logK2=3.0. In contrast, its complexation with larger alkali metal ions (K+, Rb+, Cs+) preferentially gave 3 : 2 (host/guest) complexes when 2/3 equiv. of the guest was present. The three‐layered structures of these 3 : 2 complexes were well characterized by mass spectrometry and 2D COSY/ROESY experiments as well as DFT calculations, elucidating their unique structural feature with three chemically different environments due to the oppositely curved two [Ni(saloph)] moieties of the metallohost. Metallo‐supramolecular cages have garnered tremendous attention for their diverse yet molecular‐level precision structures. However, the physical properties of these supramolecular ensembles, which are of potential significance in molecular electronics, remain largely unexplored. We herein constructed a series of octahedral metallo‐cages and cage‐fullerene complexes with notably enhanced structural stability. As such, we could systematically evaluate the electrical conductivity of these ensembles at both the single‐molecule level and aggregated bulk state (as well‐defined films). Our findings reveal that counteranions and fullerene guests play a pivotal role in determining the electrical conductivity of the aggregated state, while such effects are less significant for single‐molecule conductance. Both the counteranions and fullerenes effectively tune the electronic structures and packing density of metallo‐supramolecular assemblies, and facilitate efficient charge transfer between the cage hosts and fullerenes, resulting in a notable one order of magnitude increase in the electrical conductivity of the aggregated state. Host‐guest chemistry, a pivotal branch of supramolecular chemistry, plays an essential role in understanding and constructing complex structures through non‐covalent interactions. Organic molecular cages, characterized by their intrinsic confined cavities, can selectively bind a variety of guest molecules. Their host–guest chemistry has been well studied in the solution phase, and several attempts have been made to encode well‐defined molecular architectures into solid‐state polymeric materials. However, only limited studies have explored their potential in the solid state, where their lack of robustness and less ordered networks significantly hinder practical applications. Herein, we report the synthesis of a single‐crystal cage framework and a systematic study of its host–guest chemistry, spanning from the solution state to the solid state. Our studies reveal that the host–guest interactions inherent to the cage are successfully maintained in the solid‐state polymeric material. Furthermore, the framework's robustness allows for the guest molecules (fullerene) to be released triggered by an organic acid (trifluoroacetic acid), with subsequent regeneration of the framework through an organic base (triethylamine) treatment. Our findings represent the first synthesis of a robust, single‐crystal cage framework exhibiting highly selective and reversible host–guest chemistry, thus showing great potential towards molecular separation application. Supramolecular artificial light‐harvesting system with highly efficient host–guest energy transfer pathway provides an ideal platform for optimizing the photochemistry process. The consecutive photo‐induced electron transfer (conPET) process overcomes the energy limitation of visible‐light photocatalysis, but is often compromised by mismatching between the absorption of ground state dye and its radical, weakening the efficiency of photoredox reaction. By encapsulating a conPET photocatalyst rhodamine 6G into metal‐organic cage, the supramolecular approach was undertaken to tackle the intrinsic difficulty of matching the light absorption of photoexcitation between rhodamine 6G and its radical. The highly efficient Förster resonance energy transfer from the photoexcited cage to rhodamine 6G forced by host–guest encapsulation facilitates the conPET process for the single‐wavelength light‐driven activation of aryl halides by stabilizing and accelerating the production and accumulation of the rhodamine 6G radical intermediate. The tunable and flexible nature of the supramolecular host–guest complex renders the cage‐based encapsulation strategy promising for the development of ideal photocatalysts toward the better utilization of solar energy. Promoting the generation of triplet states is essential for developing efficient photocatalytic systems. This research presents a novel approach of host‐stabilized through‐space conjugation via the combination of covalent and non‐covalent methods. The designed building block, 4,4′‐(1,4(1,4)‐dibenzene cyclohexaphane‐1,4‐diyl)bis(1‐phenylpyridinium) chloride, features inherently stable through‐space conjugation. When this block forms a 1 : 1 host–guest complex with cucurbit[8]uril, the through‐space conjugation is further stabilized within the confined cavity. Both the generation and lifetime of triplet state are significantly increased, resulting from the host‐stabilized through‐space conjugation. Additionally, the ultrahigh binding constant of 6.58×1014 M−1 ensures the persistence of host‐stabilization effect. As a result, the host–guest complex acts as a highly efficient catalyst in the photocatalytic oxidation of thioether and aromatic alcohol. In the photodegradation of lignin, a complex natural product, the host–guest complex also exhibits high efficiency, demonstrating its robustness. Supramolecular complexes of carbon nanohoops with fullerenes play a key role for the design of novel nanomaterials with technological applications. Herein we investigate with density functional theory (DFT) methods the capability of neutral and dioxidized cycloparaphenylenes (CPPs) to encapsulate all‐boron fullerene B40. Our results show that [9]CPP and [10]CPP are feasible host candidates to encapsulate B40 displaying comparable complexation energies with the all‐carbon analog [10]CPP⊃C60. Upon dioxidation the host‐guest interactions are not affected, whereas the positive charge is delocalized on the CPPs leading to global aromatic character of the hosts. Consequently, the dicationic complexes [n]CPP2+⊃B40 and [10]CPP2+⊃C60 display augmented global shielding cones that strongly shield the guests, as manifested by large upfield shifts in 11B‐NMR and 13C‐NMR signals. Hence, CPP complexes with carbon fullerenes can be extended borospherene B40 host‐guest complexes, as well as to doubly oxidized species stabilized by global host aromaticity, expanding our understanding of carbon nanohoop complexes to boron‐based fullerenes. An efficient strategy for high‐performance chiral materials is to design and synthesize host molecules with left‐ and right‐ (M‐ and P‐)twisted conformations and to control their twisted conformations. For this, a quantitative analysis is required to describe the chiroptical inversion, chiral transfer, and chiral recognition in the host‐guest systems, which is generally performed using circular dichroism (CD) and/or proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) spectroscopies. However, the mass‐balance model that considers the M‐ and P‐twisted conformations has not yet been established. In this study, we derived the novel equations based on the mass‐balance model for the 1 : 1 host‐guest systems. Then, we further applied them to analyze the 1 : 1 host‐guest systems for the achiral calixarene‐based capsule molecule, achiral dimeric zinc porphyrin tweezer molecule, and chiral pillar[5]arene with the chiral and/or achiral guest molecules by using the data obtained from the CD titration, variable temperature CD (VT−CD), and 1H NMR experiments. The thermodynamic parameters (ΔH and ΔS), equilibrium constants (K), and molar CD (Δϵ) in the 1 : 1 host‐guest systems could be successfully determined by the theoretical analyses using the derived equations. Herein, we report a new strategy for the design of antibiotic agents based on the electrostatic interaction and hydrogen bonding, highlighting the significance of hydrogen bonding and the increased recognition sites in facilitating the interaction with bacterial cell membranes and DNA. A series of quaternary ammonium functionalized urea-based anion receptors were studied. While the monodentate mono-urea M1, bisurea M2, and trisurea M3 failed to break through the cell membrane barrier and thus could not kill bacteria, the extended bidentate dimers D1–D3 presented gradually increased membrane penetrating capabilities, DNA conformation perturbation abilities, and broad-spectrum antibacterial activities against E. coli, P. aeruginosa, S. aureus, E. faecalis, and S. epidermidis. Near‐Infrared (NIR) phosphorescence at room temperature is challenging to achieve for organic molecules due to negligible spin–orbit coupling and a low energy gap leading to fast non‐radiative transitions. Here, we show a supramolecular host–guest strategy to harvest the energy from the low‐lying triplet state of C64 nanographene tetraimide 1. 1H NMR and X‐ray analysis confirmed the 1 : 2 stoichiometric binding of a Pt(II) porphyrin on the two π‐surfaces of 1. While the free 1 does not show emission in the NIR, the host–guest complex solution shows NIR phosphorescence at 77 K. Further, between 860–1100 nm, room temperature NIR phosphorescence (λmax=900 nm, τavg=142 μs) was observed for a solid‐state sample drop‐casted from a preformed complex in solution. Theoretical calculations reveal a non‐zero spin–orbit coupling between isoenergetic S1 and T3 of π‐stacked [1 ⋅ Pt(II) porphyrin] complex. External heavy‐atom‐induced spin–orbit coupling along with rigidification and protection from oxygen in the solid‐state promotes both the intersystem crossing from the first excited singlet state into the triplet manifold and the NIR phosphorescence from the lowest triplet state of 1. A bis-ferrocene macrocycle was synthesized by reversible acylhydrazone formation under thermodynamic control, starting from a ferrocene functionalized with hydrazide and protected aldehyde moieties. A hydrogen sulfate anion acts as a template to direct the synthesis specifically toward the macrocyclic dimer, due to a weak but selective binding interaction. Chirality‐driven self‐sorting plays an essential role in controlling the biofunction of biosystems, such as the chiral double‐helix structure of DNA from self‐recognition by hydrogen bonding. However, achieving precise control over the chiral self‐sorted structures and their functional properties for the bioinspired supramolecular systems still remains a challenge, not to mention realizing dynamically reversible regulation. Herein, we report an unprecedented saucer[4]arene‐based charge transfer (CT) cocrystal system with dynamically reversible chiral self‐sorting synergistically induced by chiral triangular macrocycle and organic vapors. It displays efficient chain length‐selective vapochromism toward alkyl ketones due to precise modulation of optical properties by vapor‐induced diverse structural transformations. Experimental and theoretical studies reveal that the unique vapochromic behavior is mainly attributed to the formation of homo‐ or heterochiral self‐sorted assemblies with different alkyl ketone guests, which differ dramatically in solid‐state superstructures and CT interactions, thus influencing their optical properties. This work highlights the essential role of chiral self‐sorting in controlling the functional properties of synthetic supramolecular systems, and the rarely seen controllable chiral self‐sorting at the solid‐vapor interface deepens the understanding of efficient vapochromic sensors. Self‐folding cavitands represent the quintessential form of bioinspired synthetic receptors, featuring deep hydrophobic cavities that engage in host‐guest chemistry reminiscent of that operating in biomolecules. Although remarkable proof‐of‐concept applications have been reported, the narrow and rigid spaces of the legacy resorcin[4]arene derived hosts constitute a liability towards the development of specific applications in catalysis, sensing or sequestration. While notable efforts to expand the size of the cavities have been reported, the development of confined spaces reproducing the highly adaptable nature of biological receptors is a largely unaddressed issue. This review summarizes the development of a new family of calix[5]arene derived self‐folding cavitands displaying enhanced induced fit and conformational selection phenomena. Calix[4]arenes and calix[4]resorcinarenes are well‐known macrocyclic hosts that can be tailored to bind guests of very different natures, including anions, cations, and various neutral molecules. The molecular architectures of the hosts can be altered in many ways: by attaching polar or hydrophilic groups, extending inner cavities with enlarged aromatic side walls, and adding H‐bonding sites to promote the formation of molecular capsules. The attachment of different types of redox‐active moieties renders calix[4]arene and calix[4]resorcinarene derivatives electrochemically active, enabling them to either control the guest‐binding properties of the receptors or be used as electrochemical sensors. This review will focus on calix[4]arene and calix[4]resorcinarene macrocyclic hosts with appended redox‐active groups, such as ferrocene, tetrathiafulvalene, and quinone. We will discuss molecular receptors that can serve as redox sensors for cations or electron‐deficient molecules or can bind and release their guests controlled by redox or electrochemical stimuli. Cucurbiturils are popular macrocyclic receptors that bind complementary guest molecules with high affinity in aqueous environments. They are recognized for their ability to selectively bind positively charged guest molecules, including ionizable ammonium cations which frequently display much higher affinity than their neutral counterparts. This selectivity for the protonated species is translated into an increase in the basicity of encapsulated guests (i. e. into complexation‐induced positive pKa shifts). However, despite being very rare, negative pKa shifts can be observed for specific guests. Following a previous work from our group reporting slightly negative pKa shifts for flavylium and chalcone dyes featuring N‐diethylamino substituents (ΔpKa=− 0.2), herein we report a systematic study on the complexation of N‐dialkylaminochalcones with CB7. The results show that the pKa shifts of these host‐guest complexes can be rationally tuned by the nature of the N‐dialkylamino groups and as well by target substitutions on the skeleton of the dye, allowing the design of a CB7 1 : 1 host‐guest complex with a ΔpKa=− 0.6. Self‐inclusion complexes consisting of host‐guest conjugates are one of the unique supramolecular structures because they form in‐state and out‐state depending on the external stimuli. Despite many reports of the stimuli‐responsive self‐inclusion complex formation, study of the structural relaxation from out‐state to in‐state by photoexcitation has been unexplored. Herein, we report that an electron‐donating host and an electron‐accepting guest conjugate exhibits the structural relaxation from out‐state to in‐state by photoexcitation. Formation of the in‐state in the excited state resulted in exciplex emission along with the locally excited emission from the out‐state. Moreover, this structural relaxation by photoexcitation was suppressed not only by temperature, but also by the presence of guest molecules, resulting in changes in the ratio of the dual emission intensities. A 126 π‐electron nanobowl molecule, phenine tridehydrosumanene, was synthesized in 12 steps through the development of a polygon cyclization strategy that assembled the polygonal precursors by Ni‐mediated macrocyclization. The bowl‐shaped structure accommodated C70 as a guest at the concave site, and the ball‐in‐bowl structure was determined by X‐ray crystallography. The host–guest equilibrium in solution was studied with titration experiments using isothermal calorimetry, which provided an interesting test case for studying the host–guest stoichiometry. Bayesian inference was introduced for stoichiometric analyses of the equilibrium, and a procedure to estimate the volume of prior probability in the parameter space was developed. The Bayesian procedure functioned as Occam's razor and provided quantitative support for a specific stoichiometry. The method was examined with five host–guest examples comprising nanocarbon hosts, which suggested the versatility of Bayesian inference for studies of supramolecular complexes. The ability of an octanuclear cubic coordination cage to catalyse a nucleophilic aromatic substitution reaction on a cavity‐bound guest was studied with 2,4‐dinitrofluorobenzene (DNFB) as the guest/substrate. It was found that DNFB undergoes a catalysed reaction with hydroxide ions within the cavity of the cubic cage (in aqueous buffer solution, pH 8.6). The rate enhancement of kcat/kuncat was determined to be 22, with cavity binding of the guest being required for catalysis to occur. The product, 2,4‐dinitrophenolate (DNP), remained bound within the cavity due to electrostatic stabilisation and exerts two apparently contradictory effects: it initially auto‐catalyses the reaction when present at low concentrations, but at higher concentrations inhibits catalysis when a pair of DNP guests block the cavity. When encapsulated, the UV/Vis absorption spectrum of DNP is red‐shifted when compared to the spectrum of free DNP in aqueous solution. Further investigations using other aromatic guests determined that a similar red‐shift on cavity binding also occurred for 4‐nitrophenolate (4NP) at pH 8.6. The red‐shift was used to determine the stoichiometry of guest binding of DNP and 4NP within the cage cavity, which was confirmed by structural analysis with X‐ray crystallography; and was also used to perform catalytic kinetic studies in the solution‐state. A bidentate boron Lewis acid based on 1,8‐diethynylanthracene has been studied in detail with respect to its adduct formation with diamines and diphosphanes of different linker lengths between the donor functions. A clear correlation between the linker length of the bifunctional base and the formation of 1 : 1 adducts, 1 : 2 adducts or oligomers was found. The adducts were characterized in solution by NMR titration experiments and structurally by X‐ray diffraction. In addition, adduct formation and competition experiments of the host system with ZR3 (Z=N, P; R=H, Me) demonstrated the generally higher stability of alkylphosphane adducts compared to alkylamine adducts with boron functions. The results provide a general insight into the adduct formation of bidentate Lewis acids with guests of different sizes as well as the differences in stability between borane‐amine and borane‐phosphane adducts. The highly strained, phenylene‐derived organic cages are typically regarded as very rigid entities, yet their deformation potential and supramolecular properties remain underexplored. Herein, we report a pliable conjugated phenylene nanocage by synergistically merging rigid and flexible building blocks. The anisotropic cage molecule contains branched phenylene chains capped by a calix[6]arene moiety, the delicate conformational changes of which endow the cage with a remarkably deformable cavity. The H2O@HKUST‐1 and DMF@HKUST‐1 systems were experimental and computationally assessed, employing XRD/TGA/FT‐IR/DFT‐calculations, evidencing that H2O or DMF coordinated to Cu, modulating HKUST‐1 photocatalytic properties. DMF@HKUST‐1 has narrower bandgap promoting higher‐crystallinity and light‐harvesting. H2O@HKUST‐1 showed smaller particle sizing and sharp morphology. Theoretical models, (H2O)1@HKUST‐1 and (DMF)1@HKUST‐1, containing one coordinated molecule, elucidated bandgap modulation associated with infiltration. H2O@HKUST‐1/DMF@HKUST‐1 presented bandgaps [eV] of 3.6/3.4, by Tauc plots, and 3.55/3.26, by theoretical calculations, narrowing bandgap, compared with non‐solvated HKUST‐1(HKUST‐1NS). Both composites raised the valence band (VB) and lowered the conduction band (CB), but DMF@HKUST‐1 most raised VB. Topological analysis revealed that guests i) with higher electronic density, raised VB, and ii) induced π‐backbonding, lowering CB. DMF@HKUST‐1 presented a higher photocatalytic hydrogen evolution (μmol), 26.45, in the first 30 min of the reaction, nevertheless, H2O@HKUST‐1 presented a competitive activity, of 17.32. Redox–active components are highly valuable in the construction of molecular devices. We combined two p‐phenylenediamines (p‐PDA) with a biphenyl (BiPhe) unit to prepare a supramolecular guest 4 consisting of three binding sites for cucurbit[7/8]uril (CBn) and/or cyclodextrins (CD). Supramolecular properties of 4 were investigated using NMR, UV‐vis, mass spectrometry and isothermal titration calorimetry. Our analysis revealed that 4 forms higher–order host–guest complexes, wherein a CD unit occupies the central BiPhe site, secured by two CBn units at the terminal p‐PDA sites. Additionally, 1 : 1 complexes with α‐CD and β‐CD, a 1 : 2 complex with γ‐CD and 2 : 1 complexes with CB7 and CB8 were identified. Through UV‐vis and cyclic voltammetry, redox processes leading to the formation of a stable, deep blue dication diradical of 4 are elucidated. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that CB7 selectively protects oxidised 4 from reduction in the presence of a reducing agent. Excipients are important components of pharmaceutical preparations that affect their quality, safety, and efficacy. Macrocyclic receptors are a family of supramolecular excipients with several advantages, including molecular-level protection, small sizes, fast kinetics of host-guest recognition, and modular construction. With the continuous advances in the medical field, personalized and precision medicine requires the development of excipients with low dosages, integrated modifying effects, universality, and controlled release. To meet these requirements, we have developed a new family of macrocyclic excipients based on calixarenes by integrating their covalent (broad chemical design space) and noncovalent (wide range of substrates) advantages. Accordingly, azocalixarenes (AzoCAs) were designed, showing high binding affinities to a broad spectrum of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), selectivity to interferents, and responsiveness to hypoxic microenvironments. Due to their highly efficient and controllable recognition, AzoCAs serve as low-dose excipients for 30 APIs. Molecular encapsulation by AzoCAs results in the integrated modification of the physicochemical properties of APIs, including solubility, stability, bioavailability, and biocompatibility. Moreover, AzoCAs can be reduced by azoreductases overexpressed in hypoxic microenvironments, leading to the controlled release of APIs. Collectively, AzoCA excipients have broad application prospects for a series of diseases such as enteritis, arthritis, stroke, cancer, bacterial infection and kidney injury, with diverse therapeutic modalities, including chemotherapy, photodynamic therapy, photothermal therapy, immunotherapy, boron neutron capture therapy, radiotherapy, fluorescence imaging, and their combinations. π–π interactions are among the most important intermolecular interactions in supramolecular systems. Here we determine experimentally a universal parameter for their strength that is simply based on the size of the interacting contact surfaces. Toward this goal we designed a new cyclophane based on terrylene bisimide (TBI) π‐walls connected by para‐xylylene spacer units. With its extended π‐surface this cyclophane proved to be an excellent and universal host for the complexation of π‐conjugated guests, including small and large polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) as well as dye molecules. The observed binding constants range up to 108 M−1 and show a linear dependence on the 2D area size of the guest molecules. This correlation can be used for the prediction of binding constants and for the design of new host–guest systems based on the herewith derived universal Gibbs interaction energy parameter of 0.31 kJ/molÅ2 in chloroform. Self‐propelled micro/nanomotors (MNMs) have shown great application potential in biomedicine, sensing, environmental remediation, etc. In the past decade, various strategies or technologies have been used to prepare and functionalize MNMs. However, the current preparation strategies of the MNMs were mainly following the pre‐designed methods based on specific tasks to introduce expected functional parts on the various micro/nanocarriers, which lacks a universal platform and common features, making it difficult to apply to different application scenarios. Here, we have developed a modular assembly strategy based on host–guest chemistry, which enables the on‐demand construction of imaging‐trackable nanomotors mounted with suitable driving and imaging modules using a universal assembly platform, according to different application scenarios. These assembled nanomotors exhibited enhanced diffusion behavior driven by enzymatic reactions. The loaded imaging functions were used to dynamically trace the swarm motion behavior of assembled nanomotors with corresponding fuel conditions both in vitro and in vivo. The modular assembly strategy endowed with host–guest interaction provides a universal approach to producing multifunctional MNMs in a facile and controllable manner, which paves the way for the future development of MNMs systems with programmable functions. Carbohydrates are abundant in Nature, where they are mostly assembled within glycans as free polysaccharides or conjugated to a variety of biological molecules such as proteins and lipids. Glycans exert several functions, including protein folding, stability, solubility, resistance to proteolysis, intracellular traffic, antigenicity, and recognition by carbohydrate‐binding proteins. Interestingly, misregulation of their biosynthesis that leads to changes in glycan structures is frequently recognized as a mark of a disease state. Because of glycan ubiquity, carbohydrate binding agents (CBAs) targeting glycans can lead to a deeper understanding of their function and to the development of new diagnostic and prognostic strategies. Synthetic receptors selectively recognizing specific carbohydrates of biological interest have been developed over the past three decades. In addition to the success obtained in the effective recognition of monosaccharides, synthetic receptors recognizing more complex guests have also been developed, including di‐ and oligosaccharide fragments of glycans, shedding light on the structural and functional requirements necessary for an effective receptor. In this review, the most relevant achievements in molecular recognition of glycans and their fragments will be summarized, highlighting potentials and future perspectives of glycan‐targeting synthetic receptors. Fluorocarbon gases are regarded as one of the largest contributors to serious environmental problems such as ozone‐depletion and global warming, and thus, the development of reclamation technologies is in great demand for reducing emission of such harmful compounds. So far, porous materials such as zeolites, activated carbons, and metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) have been examined as solid‐state absorbents for fluorocarbon gases. However, such porous materials often suffer from a lack of size‐selectivity in fluorocarbon gas uptakes due to the large‐sized cavities (>1 nm). Herein, it is reported that macrocyclic pillar[n]quinones (P[n]Q, n = 5 or 6) in crystalline state show size‐selective uptake for fluorocarbon gases owing to their molecular‐scale cavities (<1 nm). The P[n]Q also show uptake behaviors for volatile halogenated organic compounds (VHOCs), which are highly toxic. Interestingly, the volatilities of VHOCs within the 1D channels of P[5]Q are drastically reduced compared with those of the bulk VHOC solvents. Experimental results and computational analyses revealed that the excellent storage abilities of the crystalline P[n]Q are a synergic result of their electron‐deficient macrocyclic scaffolds and the basic carbonyl oxygen atoms on their rims. Real‐time monitoring of hydroxyl radical (⋅OH) generation is crucial for both the efficacy and safety of chemodynamic therapy (CDT). Although ⋅OH probe‐integrated CDT agents can track ⋅OH production by themselves, they often require complicated synthetic procedures and suffer from self‐consumption of ⋅OH. Here, we report the facile fabrication of a self‐monitored chemodynamic agent (denoted as Fc‐CD‐AuNCs) by incorporating ferrocene (Fc) into β‐cyclodextrin (CD)‐functionalized gold nanoclusters (AuNCs) via host–guest molecular recognition. The water‐soluble CD served not only as a capping agent to protect AuNCs but also as a macrocyclic host to encapsulate and solubilize hydrophobic Fc guest with high Fenton reactivity for in vivo CDT applications. Importantly, the encapsulated Fc inside CD possessed strong electron‐donating ability to effectively quench the second near‐infrared (NIR‐II) fluorescence of AuNCs through photoinduced electron transfer. After internalization of Fc‐CD‐AuNCs by cancer cells, Fenton reaction between redox‐active Fc quencher and endogenous hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) caused Fc oxidation and subsequent NIR‐II fluorescence recovery, which was accompanied by the formation of cytotoxic ⋅OH and therefore allowed Fc‐CD‐AuNCs to in situ self‐report ⋅OH generation without undesired ⋅OH consumption. The development of efficient and selective organic synthetic approaches for complex molecules has garnered significant attention due to the need for precise control over molecular structures and functions. Rotaxanes, a type of mechanically interlocked molecules (MIMs), have shown promising applications in various fields including sensing, catalysis, and material science. However, the highly selective synthesis of oligo[n]rotaxanes (mostly n≥3) through controlling host‐guest complexation and supramolecular threading assembly process still remains an ongoing challenge. In particular, the utilization of two‐dimensional (2D) macrocycles with structural shape‐persistency for the synthesis of oligo[n]rotaxanes is rare. In this concept, research on cooperatively threaded host‐guest complexation with hydrogen‐bonded (H‐bonded) aramide macrocycles and selective synthetic protocols of oligo[n]rotaxanes has been summarized. The high efficiency and selectivity in synthesis are ascribed to the synergistic interplay of multiple non‐covalent bonding interactions such as hydrogen bonding and intermolecular π–π stacking of macrocycles within the unique supramolecular structure of threaded host‐guest complexes. This review focuses on the latest progress in the concepts, synthesis, and properties of H‐bonded aramide macrocycle‐based oligorotaxanes, and presents an in‐depth outlook on challenges in this emerging field. The S-perillyl alcohol derivatives containing pyridinium and imidazolium fragments were synthesized. The 2: 1 host—guest complex with model pillar[5]arene characterized by logKass = 6.13 was synthesized from perillyl-bearing meroterpenoid. The composition and structure of the synthesized complex were confirmed by 1H and 2D 1H—1H NOESY NMR spectroscopy. The properties of associates formed by the meroterpenoid—pillar[5]-arene complexes were evaluated by dynamic light scattering, Doppler microelectrophoresis, and transmission electron microscopy. We report a fluorescent supramolecular polymer networks (SPNs) system based on crown ether‐cation recognition. The polymer side chains bear ammonium cations, which can be recognized by host molecules with a B15C5 unit and a quinoline group at each end. The quinoline group makes the host molecule exhibit blue fluorescence. After the formation of SPNs, the recognition of the crown ether‐cation transforms the blue fluorescence into yellow fluorescence. The accompanying fluorescence color change during the formation of SPNs makes it with potential applications in the fields of display, printing, information storage, and bioimaging. Arene‐formaldehyde condensation is a versatile reaction for producing various oligomeric/polymeric materials. However, the precise control of oligomerization degree is still challenging because the starting materials and intermediates have similar reactivities. Here, we demonstrate the selective synthesis of a methylene‐bridged arene trimer using the confined cavity of a coordination cage. The limited space of the cavity prevents unregulated polymerization. The development of water‐soluble hosts for the selective recognition of aromatic amino acids is highly desirable and may serve as a tool to facilitate drug discovery and enable fabrication of sensors for point‐of‐care monitoring in the context of phenylketonuria disease. This paper presents the synthesis and characterization of a water‐soluble molecular cleft which is demonstrated to selectively bind aromatic amino acid guests over other amino acids in aqueous medium, favoring ʟ‐Trp over ʟ‐Phe and ʟ‐Tyr by a factor of approximately five. Host/guest‐interaction forces were studied by 1H‐NMR titrations complemented by fluorescence titrations and isothermal titration calorimetry. Supramolecular systems demonstrating resonance energy transfer have recently became a topical area on the borderline of supramolecular chemistry, photochemistry, photophysics and biology. The modularity of supramolecular interactions is a prerequisite for fine tuning of optical properties, which is difficult to achieve by other means. As a component of such systems, cucurbit[n]uril (CB[n]) macrocycles can play a wide spectrum of roles from anchoring of FRET pairs and modulation of the optical output to providing biocompatibility of FRET stains for cell imaging. The aim of this Review is to outline the development of the CB[n]‐based systems with fluorescence (FRET) and phosphorescence (TS‐FRET) energy transfer and to highlight achievements, challenges and perspectives of this fascinating combination of a classical photophysical process and a classical supramolecular host. Rotaxane‐type fluorescence dyes promise applications of optical and biological interest because their inner fluorescence cores are protected in inseparable host–guest systems. However, there are few relevant reports of such rotaxane‐type fluorescence dyes due to the difficulty of their syntheses. Here, a versatile synthetic method is established for [5]rotaxane‐type fluorescence dyes by employing a cooperative capture strategy. Using this method, [5]rotaxanes with emission colors ranging from blue to red are synthesized successfully. These [5]rotaxanes show higher emission quantum yields than the corresponding naked fluorescence dyes in water and even in the solid state. Furthermore, these rotaxanes show photostability and chemical stability, demonstrating the high applicability of [5]rotaxane‐type fluorescence dyes for a variety of emitting materials. Calixarenes are among the most useful and versatile macrocycles in supramolecular chemistry. The one thing that has not changed in the 80 years since their discovery, despite numerous derivatizations, is their fully organic, covalent scaffolds. Here, we report a new type of organic–inorganic hybrid "calixarenes" constructed by means of coordination‐driven assembly. Replacing acetate ligands on the {SiW10Cr2(OAc)2} clusters with 5‐hydroxyisophthalates allows these 95° inorganic building blocks to be linked into bowl‐shaped, hybrid "calix[n]arenes" (n=3, 4). With a large concave cavity, the metal–organic calix[4]arene can accommodate nanometer‐sized polyoxoanions in an entropically driven process. The development of hybrid variants of calixarenes is expected to expand the scope of their physicochemical properties, guest/substrate binding, and applications on multiple fronts. Perfluorination brings about distinctive properties arising from the unusual nature of the F element, which have been extensively developed in materials science and chemistry. Herein we report that the construction of F‐rich inner space within a hollowed Mo132O372 cage ([Mo132O372(OCOR)30(H2O)72]42−) leads to the emergence of unique guest binding activities in encapsulation. Prominently, the trifluoroacetate‐modified cage (R=CF3, 2) having as many as 90 F groups inside favors trapping cyclopentadiene (Cp), which is hardly trapped by the non‐fluorinated counterpart (R=CH3, 1). Systematic studies using related hydrocarbons show that the amount of the encapsulated guest is correlated with the unsaturation degree of the guests, implying the involvement of the attractive interaction of the CF3‐modified interior wall with the guest π‐electron clouds. Control experiments using the semi‐fluorinated analogues (R=CF2H, CFH2) reveal that the perfluorination is a critical factor to facilitate the Cp encapsulation by 2, indicating that collective effects of polar C−F bonds spreading over the interior surface, rather than the polarity of the individual C−F bonds, are responsible. We also provide a successful example of the physical molecular confinement within the cage through the "ship‐in‐a‐bottle" Diels‐Alder reaction between trapped diene and dienophile. Long term intake of antituberculosis drugs will lead to severe adverse reactions that will ultimately deteriorate a patient's health and well‐being. With that, the ternary inclusion complex was explored, whereby β‐cyclodextrin (β‐CD) was chosen as the supramolecular host carrier to accommodate two kinds of first line antituberculosis guest drug molecules simultaneously, namely isoniazid (INH) and ethambutol (ETB) which would provide many therapeutic benefits. The inclusion complex of β‐CD/INH/ETB was prepared using solvent evaporation method. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT‐IR), proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H‐NMR), and 2‐dimensional nuclear Overhauser effect spectroscopy (2D‐NOESY) NMR were used to investigate the functional groups and structure of the complex. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X‐ray diffraction (XRD) were employed to study the surface morphology and crystallinity changes during complex formation. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) was performed to investigate the thermal properties of the complex. FT‐IR and both types of NMR results had revealed the successful penetration of both the drug molecules into the β‐CD cavity. SEM images and XRD spectra had shown a drastic change in surface structure and reduction in crystallinity during complex formation, which had indicated successful formation of a new compound. TGA had proven that the complex had significantly greater thermal stability as compared to the pure components. Molecular dynamics (MD) and molecular docking simulations were also performed to understand the molecular interaction between β‐CD, INH, and ETB. Through precise calculations of interaction and binding energies, β‐CD/INH/ETB was found to be a more stable inclusion complex compared to the binary β‐CD/INH and β‐CD/ETB complexes. Affinities of six anions (mesylate, acetate, trifluoroacetate, p‐toluenecarboxylate, p‐toluenesulfonate, and perfluorooctanoate) for three related Pt2+‐linked porphyrin nanocages were measured to probe the influence of different noncovalent recognition motifs (e. g. hydrogen bonding, electrostatics, π bonding) on anion binding. Two new hosts of M6L312+ (1b) and M4L28+ (2) composition (M=(en)Pt2+, L=(3‐py)4porphyrin) were prepared in a one‐pot synthesis and allowed comparison of hosts that differ in structure while maintaining similar N−H hydrogen‐bond donor ability. Comparisons of isostructural hosts that differ in hydrogen‐bonding ability were made between 1b and a related M6L312+ nanoprism (1a, M=(tmeda)Pt2+) that lacks N−H groups. Considerable variation in association constants (K1=1.6×103 M−1 to 1.3×108 M−1) and binding mode (exo vs. endo) were found for different host–guest combinations. Strongest binding was seen between p‐toluenecarboxylate and 1b, but surprisingly, association of this guest with 1a was only slightly weaker despite the absence of NH⋅⋅⋅O interactions. The high affinity between p‐toluenecarboxylate and 1a could be turned off by protonation, and this behavior was used to toggle between the binding of this guest and the environmental pollutant perfluorooctanoate, which otherwise has a lower affinity for the host. Herein, we report a new strategy for the design of antibiotic agents based on the electrostatic interaction and hydrogen bonding, highlighting the significance of hydrogen bonding and the increased recognition sites in facilitating the interaction with bacterial cell membranes and DNA. A series of quaternary ammonium functionalized urea-based anion receptors were studied. While the monodentate mono-urea M1, bisurea M2, and trisurea M3 failed to break through the cell membrane barrier and thus could not kill bacteria, the extended bidentate dimers D1–D3 presented gradually increased membrane penetrating capabilities, DNA conformation perturbation abilities, and broad-spectrum antibacterial activities against E. coli, P. aeruginosa, S. aureus, E. faecalis, and S. epidermidis.

Owing to its hydrophobic properties and reactivity, triarylphosphines (PAr3) are promising precursors for the development of new amphiphiles. However, an efficient and reliable synthetic method for amphiphiles based on highly hydrophobic PAr3 is still required. Herein, a straightforward transformation of highly hydrophobic PAr3 into amphiphiles via the Staudinger reaction is reported. By simply mixing PAr3 and a hydrophilic trichlorophenyl azide containing two hydrophilic chains, amphiphiles bearing a N=P bond (i. e. an azaylide moiety) were quantitatively formed. The obtained azaylide‐based amphiphiles were remarkably water‐soluble, enabling their spontaneous self‐assembly into 2 nm‐sized micelles composed of 4–5 molecules in water with a low critical micelle concentration (up to 0.05 mM or less) due to the effective intermolecular interactions among the hydrophobic surfaces. Although the azaylide moiety is easily hydrolyzed in the presence of water, the azaylide in the amphiphiles displayed notable stability in water even at 60 h, which stems from the LUMO modulation induced by the presence of three electron‐withdrawing chloro groups and two twisted alkoxycarbonyl groups, according to DFT calculations. An amphiphile having a large hydrophobic surface solubilized various hydrophobic organic dyes through efficient intermolecular interactions, resulting in the dyes exhibiting either monomer or excimer emissions in water.
