The popularization and use of green production technology is the key to promoting the sustainable development of agriculture. Exploring the path of promoting farmers' adoption of green production technology has important theoretical and practical significance for promoting the green transformation of agriculture and realizing the high-quality development of agriculture. This study examined the impact of contract performance on the adoption of green production technology in the farmland transfer market based on the characteristics of green production technology. An empirical test was conducted using survey data from Heilongjiang, Henan, Zhejiang, and Sichuan Provinces, which differ in agricultural resource endowment and economic development. The results demonstrated that farmland area was positively associated with the number of green production technologies adopted by farmers and use of straw returning, subsoiling, and soil testing for formula fertilization technology. Moreover, improving the performance rates of farmland transfer contracts strengthened the promotional effect of operation scale on green production technology adoption. Using either contract execution or dispute resolution rates to measure contract performance promoted the adoption of green production technology, particularly for large-scale farmers. Therefore, in the publicity and promotion of agricultural green production technology, the government should not only formulate differentiated promotion strategies and support policies based on resource endowment, but also focus on the construction of rural legal systems, which are helpful for building and maintaining a good farmland market order and performance environment, and create conditions for the durability and stability of technology adoption. Based on Poisson model, this paper conducts an empirical study on the impact of Internet use on farmers’ green production technology adoption behavior. The results show that: Internet use has a significant role in promoting farmers’ green technology acceptance behavior; the more mu farmers operate and the higher their household income, the more likely they are to adopt green production technologies; compared with other areas, the plain is more conducive to the implementation of green production technology by farmers. This paper draws the following policy implications:strengthen the popularization of internet technology, promote the utilization rate of underdeveloped areas and improve production technology;formulate the promotion strategy of green agricultural production technology according to the income difference of different groups;the government should attach importance to the construction of rural informatization and increase the publicity of green production technology. The application of smart agriculture is increasingly becoming a critical force in transforming the traditional methods of agricultural production in China. This change, based on technological innovation, is essential to promoting a sustainable production system in family farms. This study is based on the resource orchestration theory to investigate how smart agriculture affects the diversity of green production technologies (GPTs) on family farms. Based on a sample of 563 family farms surveyed in 2022, this study utilizes propensity score matching (PSM) methods and instrumental variables to analyze the effect of smart-agriculture adoption on the diversity of GPTs on farms. The findings reveal that smart agriculture has significantly increased the diversity of GPTs on farms by 8.5%. Network consulting services, value-added products, and environmental monitoring services are potential impact mechanisms underlying the positive effects of smart agriculture on the diversity of GPTs on farms. Furthermore, the increased diversity of GPTs is more significant on purely plantation farms, farms without contract farming, and farms with high levels of mechanization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Land certification and adjustment experience, which are of great significance to strengthen farmers' acceptance of the green production technologies (the GPTs), are important factors that affect the stability of land property. Based on the research data of 540 farmers in Sichuan, China, the probit model is used in this research to explore the effect of the land certification upon the GPTs acceptance of farmers and discuss the moderation effect of land adjustment experience (large-scale adjustment and small-scale adjustment). The results show the following. (1) Overall, 10% of the farmers have not obtained the certificates, 17% of the farmers have experienced small-scale land adjustment, and 3% of the farmers have experienced large-scale land adjustment. Meanwhile, 15% of the farmers have not adopted any the green production technologies (the GPTs), and the rest have adopted at least one green production technology. (2) Land certification affects farmers' acceptance of the GPTs in a significant way. (3) Small-scale land adjustment will weaken the role of land certification in promoting farmers' acceptance of the green production technologies (the GPTs), while large-scale land adjustment will not. (4) For farmers with large scale of land, low extent of land fragmentation, and high extent of dependence on agricultural income, land certification will positively promote farmers' decision making on whether to accept the GPTs. As one of the key links of agricultural green sustainable development, it is an effective path to popularize green production technology and promote farmers’ adoption of green production technology by using cooperatives as an organizational vehicle. Based on the survey of 314 apple farmers in Shaanxi and Gansu provinces, the degree of adoption of green production technology was measured by the coefficient of variation method. At the same time, in view of the selection bias of farmers’ participation in cooperatives, the propensity score matching method was used to evaluate the influence of farmers’ participation in cooperatives on the adoption of green production techniques. The results showed that participation in cooperatives increases the probability of farmers adopting green production techniques from 25.29% to 30.29%, indicating that cooperatives increase the degree to which farmers adopt green production techniques. In addition, increased cognition of green production, which increases the price and net profit of products sold and reduces expectations of green production risks, is the primary channel through which cooperatives lead farmers to adopt green production technologies. Participation in cooperatives, though, increased input costs for apple production. In order to strengthen the active role of cooperatives in the popularization of green production technologies, more support should be given to cooperatives, and emphasis should be placed on strengthening their institutional development so that they can be standardized and developed at a high quality.

Traditional and digital agro-technology promotion are two critical methods for disseminating agricultural technology information, which effectively encourages farmers to employ green production technologies. This paper empirically examines the effects of traditional and digital agro-technology promotion on the adoption of green production technologies by 619 apple producers in the primary apple production area of Guanzhong Plain, China, using micro-survey data. The study's findings suggest that both promotion models significantly influence the adoption of green production technologies by farmers. This conclusion remains valid after the instrumental variables approach and a series of robustness tests are implemented to address endogeneity concerns. The heterogeneity analysis revealed that the impact of the two promotion modes on the adoption behavior of green production technologies by farmers varied by scale. Specifically, digital agro-technology promotion had a greater impact on the adoption of physical control technologies by small-scale farmers, while traditional agro-technology promotion had a greater impact on the adoption of biological control technologies by large-scale households. In addition, the technological differences between traditional agrotechnology promotion and digital agrotechnology promotion result in clear complementary and substitution effects. The two modes of promotion have evident complementary effects for biological control technologies. Rice yields have stabilized in the Chengdu Plain, and the implementation of integrated paddy field farming has shown potential for enhancing resource utilization. However, further investigation is required to clarify its impact on production sustainability. Accordingly, this study compared grain yields, energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, and economic benefits of single cropping rice (SCR), rice-duck symbiosis (RDS), and rice-fish symbiosis (RFS) over a three-year period (2018–2020). The grain yields were 16.24%–23.96 % higher in SCR than in RDS and RFS, but nitrogen fertilizer use was reduced by 31.93%–32.15 % in RDS and RFS, and the partial factor productivity of nitrogen was increased by 21.96–23.82 %. RDS and RFS required 1.87–2.00 times more energy than SCR and were only 55.36%–57.80 % as efficient as SCR. They also had higher CO 2 (36.10%–42.20 %) and CH 4 (8.01%–28.88 %) emissions but lower N 2 O (0.02%–21.18 %) emissions than SCR. Economically, RDS and RFS produced 1.30–1.48 times higher net benefits with 1.44–1.47 times higher costs than SCR. The benefit-cost ratio of RFS was comparable to SCR and 11.38%–11.87 % higher than RDS. In summary, RDS and RFS consume more energy (feed accounts for more than half) but provide higher yields and better-quality proteins, which are crucial to improving farmer motivation and ensuring protein availability. Objective(s): Today, nanotechnology is growing rapidly due to its high application in science and industry. Particularly in recent years, the synthesis of green nanoparticles has been of great interest with plant extracts. It is a simple, inexpensive and environmentally friendly method. The possibility of synthesizing nanoparticles from vegetable wastes has been investigated in this article. Materials and Methods: coffee powder was used to produce nanoparticles. Silver ions were found to decrease with coffee extract and resulted in the formation of silver nanoparticles crystals. The properties of nanoparticles synthesized by coffee powder were analyzed by various methods such as UV spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In addition, antibacterial activity of synthesized nanoparticles against two bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli was done by paper disk and optical absorption method.Results: The formation of silver nanoparticles was confirmed (by the presence of an absorption peak at 460 nm) using a spectrophotometer. The images of the electron microscope showed that the nanoparticles were spherical and had an average size about 50 nm. The X-ray diffraction has clearly proven the field of silver nanoparticles. The results of microbial tests also indicated that the synthesized nanoparticles had an appropriate effect on the two tested bacteriaConclusion: This experiment showed that coffee residues extracts can be used for green synthesis of nanoparticles, which also have an appropriate antibacterial effect.

Background and Objectives: Nanotechnology is an interesting research area due to production of nanoparticles of different sizes, shapes, chemical compositions, dispersity, and their numerous applications for human being. Creation, manipulation, and use of metallic nanoparticles is of great importance due to reduction of dimensions, and thus having unique thermal, optical, and electronic characteristics. The biosynthesis methods of nanoparticles are prioritized compared to chemical and physical procedures because of lower energy and time costs. Green synthesis of nanoparticles is an eco-friendly method, in which natural solvents are used. In this study, the phytosynthesis of silver nanoparticles by Malva neglecta, was investigated. Methods: The extract of Malva neglecta was used as a reducing agent for biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles. By adding silver nitrate in concentration of 20mM to the extract, the reaction was done at room temperature, that the color change of the extract from pale yellow to dark brown showed the generation of silver nanoparticles. Results: In this study, the formation of silver nanoparticles was confirmed (by the presence of an absorption peak at 450 nm) using a spectrophotometer. The size and morphology of silver nanoparticles were determined using scanning electron microscopy. The shape of particles was spherical and their average size was about 20nm. Conclusion: The results of this research showed that silver nanoparticles can be produced by an eco-friendly biological method and without using any harmful chemicals.

In this study, a non-radial directional distance function (NDDF) approach is used to evaluate and analyze the green efficiency of arable land use of China's 30 provinces and cities during the period 1995–2013. The study finds that the green efficiency of arable land use in China shows a trend that is first declining and then increasing. Northeast China is the most efficient, followed by the southwestern region, the eastern region, and the northwestern region; the central region has the lowest efficiency. At the provincial level, the green efficiency of arable land use in Guangdong is the highest, followed by Guangxi and Jilin. The green efficiency of arable land use in Heilongjiang, Beijing, and Tibet is relatively low. All the environmentally green production technology leaders come from the northeastern, northwestern, and southwestern regions. The results of an analysis of dynamic efficiency change show that the technology change for arable land use was significantly higher than the efficiency change. This reflects that the country's attempts to improve production technology as well as its policies for the improvement of environmental conditions had played a significant role. Agricultural cooperatives are effective facilitators of green production technology promotion. What is the role of social capital within agricultural cooperatives with the most competitive advantage in technology promotion? Using the survey data of 465 citrus-planting cooperative members in Sichuan Province, this study uses the IV-probit model and mediating effect model to analyze the impact role of social capital within agricultural cooperatives on its members' adoption of integrated pest management (IPM) technology. The bootstrap method is also used to test the robustness of the parameter estimates. The results show that: (1) the social capital within agricultural cooperatives has a significant positive impact on IPM adoption; (2) cooperative members' IPM cognition has a partial mediating effect on the impact of the social capital within agricultural cooperatives on its members' adoption of IPM technology (more than 51.37%). Therefore, among all the optional IPM technology promotion measures of cooperatives, multi-dimensional accumulation of the social capital within agricultural cooperatives and promotion of IPM technology awareness level of members is a viable path., Competing Interests: The authors declare no conflict of interest.
