Mobility, a vital part of daily life, significantly impacts human well-being. Understanding this relationship is crucial for shaping the future trajectory of mobility, a connection often overlooked in previous research. This study explores the complex relationship between mobility and well-being and proposes a holistic framework for mobility's future, prioritizing individual and societal well-being. The motivation for this research stems from the growing need to balance technological advancements in transportation with the well-being of diverse populations, especially as the mobility landscape evolves with innovations like autonomous vehicles and intelligent mobility solutions. We employ bibliometric methods, analyzing 53,588 academic articles to identify key themes and research trends related to mobility and well-being. This study categorizes these articles into thematic clusters using the Louvain modularity maximization algorithm, which facilitates the formation of cohesive groups based on citation patterns. Our findings underline the significant impact of mobility on physical, mental, psychological, financial, and social well-being. The proposed framework features four pillars: vehicle, infrastructure and environment, mobility stakeholders, and policy. This framework underscores the importance of collaboration between institutional and individual actions in shaping a future mobility landscape that is technologically advanced, socially responsible, and conducive to an improved quality of life. Smart working has been the subject of extensive research over the past years, but it has become a hot topic following the Covid19 due to its impact not only on human resources and management, but also on mobility patterns. The pandemic highlighted the critical role of entrepreneurship in adapting to new work modalities, pushing organizations to innovate and reevaluate their smart working strategies and its implications on mobility. Where initial studies suggested that smart working could enhance mobility by reducing commute trips, recent studies are concluding that smart working has a limited impact on mobility improvement for various reasons, including an increase of usage of private car over public transport. To provide further insights over this topic, this empirical research aims to evaluate if smart workers are willing to spend more resources (monetary and temporal) in its mode of transport decision-making and, to identify factors that may moderate the smart worker willingness to dedicate more resources. To address this research targets, a conceptual model has been developed and has been tested in a sample of 338 smart workers in Madrid through Structural Equation Modelling. The research findings confirm that (i) smart workers tend to use private car for commuting for non- smart working days, (ii) that smart workers are willing to spend more money and time trip, especially more money, but (iii) to a certain extent. These findings provide new insights into this field, revealing significant entrepreneurship implications as enterprises must develop strategies and policies fostering the new social and mobility context. Bike sharing systems have become a sustainable alternative to motorized private transport in urban areas. However, users often face high costs and availability issues due to the operational effort required to redistribute bicycles between stations. For addressing those issues, the AuRa (Autonomes Rad, Eng. Autonomous Bicycle) project introduces a new mobility offer in terms of an on-demand, shared-use, self-driving cargo bikes service (OSABS) that enables automated redistribution. Within the project, we develop different order management and rebalancing strategies and validate them using simulation models. One prerequisite for this is sound demand scenarios. However, due to the novelty of OSABS, there is currently no information about its utilization. Consequently, the objective of this study was to develop an approach for defining OSABS demand scenarios in a temporally and spatially disaggregated manner as an input for simulation models. Therefore, we first derived city-wide usage potentials of OSABS from a survey on mobility needs. We then spatially and temporally disaggregated the determined usage likelihood using travel demand matrices and usage patterns from a conventional bike-sharing system, respectively. Finally, we performed cluster analyses on the resulting annual demand to summarize sections of the yearly profile into representative units and thus reduce the simulation effort. As we applied this approach as a case study to the city of Magdeburg, Germany, we could show that our methodology enables the determination of reasonable OSABS demand scenarios from scratch. Furthermore, we were able to show that annual usage patterns of (conventional) bike sharing systems can be modeled by using demand data for only eight representative weeks. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Mobility is a vast and comprehensive system where many new multimodal technology revolutions occur. To make strategies of sustainable development, policy makers particularly focus on the residents’ trip scenarios in the long-term future affected by policies but not the extreme accuracy of the predictions. In this paper, we construct a strategic and integrated model of residents’ travel demand and trip pattern based on system dynamics methods. Changes from and relationships between policies, markets and consumers under electrification, automation and sharing revolution in mobility have been considered in this model. This model follows the utility methods in travel cost calculation from MARS and retains the original framework of travel pattern. Moreover, it includes new modes and models under technology revolutions such as (1) new sharing patterns: paratransit; (2) new travel modes: customized shuttle bus and sharing cars and (3) new vehicle models: EVs and Avs. As using the three-level classification system of ownership—mode—model, this strategic analysis model demonstrated a comprehensive structure of future mobility. Increasing urbanization has led to rising mobility and infrastructural challenges for cities and surrounding areas. Electrical vertical takeoff and landing aircrafts, also known as air taxis, enable the use of a new dimension, the skyscape. Air taxis provide a local, emission-free transport option and an infrastructure-conserving solution for the public transportation sector. While the technical implementation has already proved itself, user awareness is not yet widespread. Additionally, essential feasibility factors for public use, such as price, have received scant attention. Since user acceptance is necessary for successful implementation, and willingness to pay is another important indicator for future infrastructure planning, this study aims to investigate different urban transport scenarios. Within the framework of the study, societal acceptance, individual intention to use, and willingness to pay were investigated. Data collection took place in the greater Dresden area in Germany, with a final sample of 1,074 participants. The resulting data suggest an overall limited intention to use and societal acceptance. The scenario analysis revealed a “limousine-like” dial-a-ride scenario as a potential successful path to follow, in which a transitional path with initial dial-a-ride services and growing scheduled services over time is regarded as the most probable. Consumers’ willingness to pay was highest for the limousine scenario. Based on this research, governmental authorities and industry stakeholders may consider the findings to develop a human-centered approach for future mobility and ensure successful implementation in the mobility networks of the future.

The transportation industry has played a crucial role in advancing human society, but it has also raised concerns about carbon emissions and environmental pollution. As a result, significant research is being conducted in various areas, such as electric vehicles, powertrain energy efficiency, shared mobility, and autonomous driving. However, vehicles remain essential, and reducing their energy consumption is vital. One effective way to achieve this is by light–weighting vehicle materials. In the past, steel was the primary material used, but the transition to materials like aluminum has shown better weight-to-strength ratios. To drive change, we must explore the use of diverse materials since no single material is perfect. By combining specific materials, we can complement their weaknesses and enhance their strengths, opening up new possibilities for the future of mobility. One critical factor in advancing future mobility is the joining of dissimilar materials. This paper delves into various methods of joining dissimilar materials, their characteristics, and techniques to improve their joining performance. The joint strength for each joining method is also summarized in this study. The joining methods are primarily divided into mechanical joining, chemical joining using adhesives, and thermal fusion welding. Methods to enhance the joint include combining each joining method and improving surface interactions through surface treatments. The joint exhibiting the highest strength was the laser-welded joint of strength 312 MPa between Ti3Al-Nb alloy and Ni-based superalloy, while the lightest and strong joint was the friction stir-welded joint of strength 63.4 MPa in Polyamide 6 GFRP. Welded joints of polymer materials appear promising for the future mobility industry, particularly in terms of being lightweight. Additionally, there is a need to develop new methods to measure strength as the units used to represent the physical characteristics of the joints are not standardized. Some joints suffer from issues due to unclear joint area, highlighting the necessity to develop new strength measurement methods for future advancements.

In the contemporary automobile scene, environmental effect abatement is being increasingly sought; this demands a full rethinking of the entire system and entails more than just the reduction in exhaust pollutant emissions. Currently, the most popular approach is the electrification of automobiles, which significantly reduces pollution in major urban areas while simultaneously posing a new set of problems. The two types of zero-emission vehicles that are now being developed the most are hydrogen fuel cells and battery electric cars, but another option is the Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine (HYICE) engine, which is highly advantageous in terms of pollutants, aside from Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), which can be considerably decreased. The purpose of this study is to develop a novel vehicle design that transports this type of technology into a sporting context while striving for considerable environmental benefits and integrating them into a society where the love of automobiles still has a strong following. The cutting-edge Industrial Design Structure (IDeS) methodology is used in this work, and a sample structure was created to demonstrate how the problems and technical limitations represented can be solved. The steps of the methodology are followed to shape the final product, with careful consideration given to the design of the styling component through the use of the Stylistic Design Engineering (SDE) method. With the ultimate goal of achieving sustainable driving pleasure, the study looks into whether recyclable materials can be used for the body and whether extremely light materials can be used for the chassis. Thermal management in automobiles is necessary to minimize energy usage while achieving a high level of occupant thermal perception. As the freedom of in-vehicle activity increases with autonomous driving, considering convenience becomes even more important, and, at the same time, the need for thermal management in electric vehicles is expected to increase. While it is necessary to consider the characteristics of the future mobility environment, there is still a lack of research that takes into account these changes in thermal management and proposes future research directions. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore basic research directions based on national R&D project cases and to provide a comprehensive overview. The environmental changes that need to be considered in thermal management research include the diversification of future transportation types and usage purpose diversification, the characteristics of electric vehicles, changes in the interior and exterior design of autonomous vehicles, personalized air conditioning environments, and dynamic thermal management according to occupant in-vehicle activity. This study provides an understanding of the overall field, and can help identify challenges, solutions, and ideas. Although this study provides conceptual considerations for research directions, future research is needed to identify detailed factors related to technology, environment, and human factors. Electric vehicles (EVs) are rapidly becoming a sustainable and viable mode of future transportation due to their multitude of advantages, such as reduced CO2 emissions, local air pollutants, and vehicular noise. This study aims to identify and analyze the scientific literature using bibliometric analysis to determine the main topics of authors, their sources, and the most-cited articles, countries, journals, and institutes in the literature on EVs. This bibliometric analysis included scientific work that was published from 2011 to 2022 to provide a thorough analysis of EVs, which will assist researchers and policymakers in understanding the most current global EV advancements. This analysis extracted all bibliometric information about EVs from the Scopus database, collecting 17,150 articles published between 2011 and 2022. The data were sorted for analysis by publication year, document type, author, institute, country, cited author, keyword, and keyword co-occurrence of the EVs. The VOSviewer software was employed to examine the sorted data due to its excellent analysis and visualization capabilities. We used VOSviewer to graphically represent the density, co-occurrence, trends, and linkage of the aforementioned data comprehensibly. The publishing patterns of EVs indicate that the research field is evolving, with a yearly increase in the number of publications. The analysis showed that China, the United States, and the United Kingdom are leading in EV research and large-scale applications. Furthermore, China is the leading country in terms of research institutions and authors involved in EVs. The journal Energies is the most prominent publication periodical. Keyword analysis revealed that during the past decade, EV research has concentrated on battery-management systems, energy storage, charging infrastructure, environmental concerns, etc. The bibliometric study offered pertinent details on the main themes explored concerning EVs and current technological developments. Mobility demand is increasing across all transport modes. To preserve an individual's mobility freedom and avoid mobility sacrifice and pure price increase, stronger intermodal cooperation are key success factors. In this paper, a technology trend researcher and an airport's general manager strive to lift the view towards the future of mobility. They evaluate the question of how the technical equipment will change, how, among other things, a population's mobility habits lead to increasing demand and how this can be served. The two authors believe that seamless processes in between traffic providers and emission free as well as efficient operations are key contributions to the solution. To think mobility beyond each mobility sector is, therefore, a prerequisite. This includes mutually enriching other mobility sectors' ideas, optimised processes and technologies. Fast urbanization and climate change require innovative systems for an efficient movement of people and goods in cities. As trends towards vehicle-sharing, autonomous vehicles, and the use of micro-mobility systems gain strength, the intersection of these fields appears as an area of great opportunity. Autonomy could potentially bring the convenience of on-demand mobility into already prevalent shared micro-mobility systems (SMMS), increasing their efficiency and incentivizing more people to use active mobility modes. The novelty of introducing autonomous driving technology into SMMS and their inherent complexity requires tools to assess and quantify the potential impact of autonomy on fleet performance and user experience. This paper presents an ad-hoc agent-based simulator for the assessment of the fleet behavior of autonomous SMMS in realistic scenarios, including a rebalancing system based on demand prediction. It also allows comparing its performance to station-based and dockless schemes. The proposed simulation framework is highly configurable and flexible and works with high resolution and precision geospatial data. The results of studies carried out with this simulation tool could provide valuable insights for many stakeholders, including vehicle design engineers, fleet operators, city planners, and governments.

As society faces global challenges such as population growth and climate change, rethinking cities is now more imperative than ever. The design of cities can not be abstracted from the design of their mobility systems. Therefore, efficient solutions must be found to transport people and goods throughout the city efficiently and ecologically. An autonomous bicycle-sharing system would combine the most relevant benefits of vehicle-sharing, autonomy, and micro-mobility, increasing the efficiency and convenience of bicycle-sharing systems and incentivizing more people to bike and enjoy their cities in an environmentally friendly way. Due to the novelty of introducing autonomous driving technology into bicycle-sharing systems and their inherent complexity, there is a need to quantify the potential impact of autonomy on fleet performance and user experience. This paper presents the results of an agent-based simulation that provides an in-depth understanding of the fleet behavior of autonomous bicycle-sharing systems in realistic scenarios, including a rebalancing system based on demand prediction. In addition, this work describes the impact of different parameters on system efficiency and service quality. Finally, it quantifies the extent to which an autonomous system would outperform current station-based and dockless bicycle-sharing schemes. The obtained results show that with a fleet size three and a half times smaller than a station-based system and eight times smaller than a dockless system, an autonomous system can improve overall performance and user experience even with no rebalancing.

The design space of Future Mobility Services is a wicked problem. Wicked problems are characterized by a high degree of uncertainty and many competing perspectives and interests that must be aligned in order to solve. Therefore, the design of future mobility services tends to require collaborations between private partners, the public sector, and citizens to come to fruition, often with competing goals and value systems. Recent years have shown a growing interest in using Living Lab methodology to address these types of wicked problems, and even though progress has been made, there still remains challenges concerning how to engage citizens in co-creation and alignment of stakeholders. This paper investigates how future workshops can be used to generate a framework rooted in the context of citizens, and how this framework can be used as a point of departure fo co-creation in multi-stakeholder settings in order to address wicked problems.The future workshops were organized in Sweden, in two communities which are seldomly emphasized in mobility service research; the first a peri-urban area on the outskirts of a large city and the second an urban area within a city with a heterogeneous set of citizens in terms of cultural background and income status. The framework was derived from an analysis highlighting Resilience, Opportunity and Community, as important themes to bring into the discussions when co-creating future mobility services. The framework, in turn, can then help in creating a bridge between citizens and align other stakeholders, when grounding work in a situated context.

This study demonstrates how to develop a roadmap guiding a company's technology and innovation for future mobility by integrating the results from foresight and scenario analysis. The key drivers and trends influencing the urban development of Bangkok in the next 10 years were determined through the environmental scanning approach. The participatory approach was then applied to get stakeholders involved to enrich scenario thinking. The participants were invited from many social networks involved in city development in Bangkok. The scenario development was framed according to livability and city infrastructure development. As mobility is always the key issue for big cities, future development for mobility can be addressed in terms of different aspects such as filling stations, clean fuel, public transportation, shared mobility platforms, or last-mile traveling. Finding a sustainable mobility solution for the future is one of the most competitive challenges in the logistics and mobility sector at present. Policymakers, researchers, and companies are working intensively to provide novel options that are environmentally friendly and sustainable. While autonomous car-sharing services have been introduced as a very promising solution, an innovative alternative is arising: the use of self-driving bikes. Shared autonomous cargo-bike fleets are likely to increase the livability and sustainability of the city, as the use of cargo-bikes in an on-demand mobility service can replace the use of cars for short-distance trips and enhance connectivity to public transportation. However, more research is needed to develop this new concept. In this paper, we investigate different rebalancing strategies for an on-demand, shared-use, self-driving cargo-bikes service (OSABS). We simulate a case study of the system in the inner city of Magdeburg using AnyLogic. The simulation model allows us to evaluate the impact of rebalancing on service level, idle mileage, and energy consumption. We conclude that the best proactive rebalancing strategy for our case study is to relocate bikes only between neighboring regions. We also acknowledge the importance of bike relocation to improve service efficiency and reduce fleet size.

Nowadays, the combustion of fossil fuels for transportation has a major negative impact on the environment. All nations are concerned with environmental safety and the regulation of pollution, motivating researchers across the world to find an alternate transportation fuel. The transition of the transportation sector towards sustainability for environmental safety can be achieved by the manifestation and commercialization of clean hydrogen fuel. Hydrogen fuel for sustainable mobility has its own effectiveness in terms of its generation and refueling processes. As the fuel requirement of vehicles cannot be anticipated because it depends on its utilization, choosing hydrogen refueling and onboard generation can be a point of major concern. This review article describes the present status of hydrogen fuel utilization with a particular focus on the transportation industry. The advantages of onboard hydrogen generation and refueling hydrogen for internal combustion are discussed. In terms of performance, affordability, and lifetime, onboard hydrogen-generating subsystems must compete with what automobile manufacturers and consumers have seen in modern vehicles to date. In internal combustion engines, hydrogen has various benefits in terms of combustive properties, but it needs a careful engine design to avoid anomalous combustion, which is a major difficulty with hydrogen engines. Automobile makers and buyers will not invest in fuel cell technology until the technologies that make up the various components of a fuel cell automobile have advanced to acceptable levels of cost, performance, reliability, durability, and safety. This study investigates the co-movements between the Solactive Electric Vehicle and Future Mobility Index (EVFMI) and multiple rare earth elements (REEs). We applied a TVP-VAR model and bivariate wavelet coherence approach to capture co-movements both in the time and frequency domain considering short-, medium- and long-term investment horizons. Using daily returns from 1 June 2012 to 4 June 2021, the results of the TVP-VAR model show that individual REEs and the EVFMI have strong return connectedness and are heterogenous over time. The bivariate wavelet coherence approach reveals that Dysprosium, Neodymium, Praseodymium and Terbium returns have positive co-movement (in-phase) with the EVFMI in the medium-term and long-term. In contrast, Cerium, Europium, Lanthanum and Yttrium returns have negative co-movements (out-phase) with the EVFMI in the medium-term and long-term. We find strong positive co-movements between the MVIS Global Rare Earth/Strategic Metals Index (MVREMX) and EVFMI at multiple wavelet scales. Following the lead/lag relationship, Cerium, Europium and Lanthanum, Yttrium returns are leading the EVFMI, and Neodymium, Dysprosium, Praseodymium, Terbium and MVREMX returns are lagging to the EVFMI. This study, therefore, suggests heterogenous hedging and diversification properties of REEs over time and investment horizons. Specifically, Cerium, Europium, Lanthanum and Yttrium act as strong hedges in long-term investment horizons and Neodymium, Dysprosium, Praseodymium and Terbium are weak hedges or diversifiers in short-term investment horizons. • There is a divergence on connected and automated vehicles views of European citizens and media when compared to policymakers. • Negative sentiments are prevalent in the media, with most citizens wary of automated vehicles. • The political narrative mostly carries a positive tone. • All actors should be engaged to be able to achieve the benefits of adopting automated vehicles. • Citizen engagement initiatives are encouraged as a means of involving stakeholders in the policymaking process. Do citizens, media and policymakers share the same view on autonomous cars? In the present paper, we analyse data from media articles, a Eurobarometer survey, and policy documents, to understand the perspective of different stakeholders when it comes to autonomous cars. We find significant differences between the groups, with a predominance of negative sentiments in news articles and a majority of citizens being wary of autonomous cars, while the political narrative mostly carries a positive tone. The findings highlight a dichotomous perspective about this potentially disruptive technology. This may represent a problem as the benefits of adopting autonomous cars will only come to surface if all actors are engaged and see the advantages they can bring to people's daily lives. We conclude by encouraging policymakers to promote initiatives to engage citizens in the transformation of road transport and other stakeholders to be advertised the positive implications of autonomous vehicles. This simulation work investigates new means to decrease the modal share of motorized transport in a large urban area in Hamburg, Germany. This was deemed necessary in order to cut down CO 2 emissions. The five scenarios simulated with the MATSim [13] framework including an adapted mode choice model strongly suggest that making public transport more attractive is not sufficient to reach this goal, the results display a meager 3%-point change in the share of motorized transport. With introducing additional means to repel motorized transport, an 8%-point change may be within reach. Diverging customer needs, volatile user requirements, and shortened product and technology life cycles are key challenges facing the automotive industry. We argue that the linear interdependencies in the automotive supply chain and the closed product development and production processes are outdated in this dynamic market. We suggest a new strategy on opening up innovation, development, production, and sales processes to facilitate new business models. A cyberphysical vehicle platform is introduced here. This platform provides open software and hardware interfaces. These open interfaces allow for adaptation to meet changing customer requirements and to address them effectively. Supply chain linear interdependence is addressed by allowing for a flexible value creating network. We provide insights into these concepts providing feedback from various top level management executives in the industry and along the supply chain. This study investigates the co-movements between the Solactive Electric Vehicle and Future Mobility Index (EVFMI) and multiple rare earth elements (REEs). We applied a TVP-VAR model and bivariate wavelet coherence approach to capture co-movements both in the time and frequency domain considering short-, medium- and long-term investment horizons. Using daily returns from 1 June 2012 to 4 June 2021, the results of the TVP-VAR model show that individual REEs and the EVFMI have strong return connectedness and are heterogenous over time. The bivariate wavelet coherence approach reveals that Dysprosium, Neodymium, Praseodymium and Terbium returns have positive co-movement (in-phase) with the EVFMI in the medium-term and long-term. In contrast, Cerium, Europium, Lanthanum and Yttrium returns have negative co-movements (out-phase) with the EVFMI in the medium-term and long-term. We find strong positive co-movements between the MVIS Global Rare Earth/Strategic Metals Index (MVREMX) and EVFMI at multiple wavelet scales. Following the lead/lag relationship, Cerium, Europium and Lanthanum, Yttrium returns are leading the EVFMI, and Neodymium, Dysprosium, Praseodymium, Terbium and MVREMX returns are lagging to the EVFMI. This study, therefore, suggests heterogenous hedging and diversification properties of REEs over time and investment horizons. Specifically, Cerium, Europium, Lanthanum and Yttrium act as strong hedges in long-term investment horizons and Neodymium, Dysprosium, Praseodymium and Terbium are weak hedges or diversifiers in short-term investment horizons. These results may be of particular interest to investors and relevant to policymakers considering multiple investment horizons.

In future mobility environment, virtual drivers of autonomous vehicles should be monitored for the sake of safety by evaluating their driving behaviors. Evaluating human drivers of non-autonomous vehicles also can be helpful to improve performance of safety control systems. This paper evaluates driving behaviors based on transition probabilities among multiple driving modes. We estimate transition probabilities with likelihoods of multiple modes from an interacting multiple model by proposing an online estimation approach. The proposed approach addresses the numerical issue found in our preliminary work, and it is verified with an extensive simulation. Furthermore, we evaluate driving behaviors by utilizing the estimated transition probabilities. The proposed method of driving behavior evaluation is demonstrated experimentally. Today's digital platforms occupy sites of growing strategic significance in the daily lives of cities. Acting as infrastructures of urban exchange, platform services institute basic match-making capabilities between mobile subjects, whether for transportation, shopping, accommodation, dating, or, simply, public discourse. As is increasingly recognized, the nature of value exchange traded via these platforms extends beyond their immediate domain of service provision, whether transportation or accommodation, for example, to wider “data ecosystems” of users, producers, and consumers. It is the conditions instituted by platform services to govern data ecosystems that are the focus of this article and are, I argue, of critical importance to how big data can be leveraged in ways that expand new frontiers of urban science and more broadly, urban sustainability policy. The rise in platform urbanism means that urban big data are not simply as a diagnostic tool for monitoring and evaluating complex urban behaviors but can be co-opted in ways that actively engineers the scaling of data-driven platform services and their myriad codependencies. These conditions present significant challenges not only to informational policy but increasingly also to urban governance settings, where platform-mediated interactions facilitate powerful but unevenly shared territories of urban intelligence.

In a rapidly changing world, transportation is a big determinant of quality of life, financial growth and progress. New challenges (such as the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic) and opportunities (such as the three revolutions of shared, electric and automated mobility) are expected to drastically change the future mobility landscape. Researchers, policy makers and practitioners are working hard to prepare for and shape the future of mobility that will maximize benefits. Adopting a human perspective as a guiding principle in this endeavour is expected to help prioritize the "right" needs as requirements. In this special issue, eight research papers outline ways in which transportation research can contribute to a better tomorrow. In this editorial, we position the research within the state-of-the-art, identify the needs for future research, and then outline how the included contributions fit in this puzzle. Naturally, the problem of sustainable future transportation systems is way too complicated to be covered with a single special issue. Whilst big data accumulates at exponential rates, its analysis is currently linear. As architect, urban technologist and Academic Director at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) in Barcelona Areti Markopoulou points out, at the moment inhabitants of cities are data‐captured, yet no circular feedback occurs to make them aware of their actions at the personal and immediate level.
