This article aims to advance understanding of foreign nation oracles in the hb/ot by analyzing how many such oracles focus, more precisely, on subgroups within the polities named and direct their critique against that group’s articulation and enactment of imperialistic or nationalistic ideologies. The article first draws upon sociology and critical discourse analysis to sketch a theoretical perspective in which to analyze such oracles, then heuristically explores nation oracles in several prophetic books to illuminate the significance of their double focus on subgroups associated with ideologies which, as discourses of power, definitively validate and vindicate their proponents over against the Other. The article concludes with reflections on the value of ideologically-sensitive interpretation of prophetic oracles concerning foreign groups in light of this phenomenon’s overlap with sociology, imperialism, ideological critique, and justice. Legal frameworks are important for institutionalising and strengthening social protection systems. Two states in Nigeria, Jigawa and Zamfara, have enacted social protection laws. This article explores how the process of enacting such a law is influenced by state-level politics and local contexts, and how the activities of a project financed by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) contributed to much greater understanding and acceptance of social protection in both states. Primary data collected through in-depth interviews with state and non-state stakeholders and project staff was analysed to tease out the political, cultural, and power dynamics involved in enacting the laws. Findings show that a range of factors aimed at building the case for, and understanding of, social protection across a range of stakeholders was critical, and that a fairly standard package of tools employed in advocating for institutionalising social protection was influenced considerably by domestic political dynamics. The burgeoning internet celebrity industry in China has encouraged the emergence of foreign wanghong (洋网红) as active content producers on the Chinese internet. Achieving online fame and constructing a resonant personal brand while staying within Chinese state's permissible boundaries is a challenge for all internet influencers in China. Foreign wanghong, for their part, also have to deal with Chinese publics' ambivalence and fluctuating perspectives on engaging foreign culture, expectations around "being foreign" and cultural nationalism fed by the currents of geopolitics. This study focuses on the performance and personas of foreign wanghong and investigates how these creators navigate the complexities of the Chinese internet to achieve substantial followings. Going beyond treating foreign participants in Chinese digital media spaces as co-opted instruments of propaganda, we take seriously foreign creators' articulations, constructions and self-presentations of foreignness and acculturation in their efforts to earn social, cultural and economic capital in the competitive Chinese internet celebrity sphere. A mixed-method content analytical study of several hundred Douyin videos generated by 33 foreign wanghong reveals the adoption of calculated self-presentation and cross-cultural communication skills alongside a constant negotiation of an individual's own foreignness and local constructs of the "typical foreigner". OBJECTIVE To retrospectively report the historical and clinical findings, diagnostics, treatment, and outcome of horses with penetrating wood foreign bodies (PWFBs) of the coronary band. ANIMALS 15 client-owned horses. CLINICAL PRESENTATION Horses had varying degrees of lameness and soft tissue swelling of the coronary band and pastern region. A defect in the coronary band was identified, but the actual wood foreign body was not always readily visualized. RESULTS Medical records of horses diagnosed with PWFBs of the coronary band between 2004 and 2023 were reviewed. Information retrieved from the medical records included history, signalment, diagnostics, treatment, and outcome. Thirteen of 15 horses that sustained a PWFB to the coronary band were participating in foxhunting. Penetrating wood foreign bodies occurred more frequently near the central axis or toe region (11/15) and more commonly in the forelimbs (11/15). Removal of PWFBs can be performed with the horse standing and sedated with regional anesthesia. Complete removal of the PWFB required partial removal of the adjacent hoof wall. CLINICAL RELEVANCE Penetrating wood foreign bodies occurred in the coronary band and lodged distally in the hoof wall of horses. Foxhunting may be a risk factor for this type of injury. Penetrating wood foreign bodies occurred most commonly in the front feet, near the central axis of the coronary band. Complete removal of the PWFB required removing a section of the adjacent hoof wall. The prognosis for return to the previous level of activity following treatment was favorable. The increase in the foreign population in municipalities with smaller populations of the Region of Valencia occurred after an intense migratory flow prior to the real estate and financial crisis. This process harbored the hope of stopping the demographic regression suffered in rural areas. After a period of population loss, in recent years a demographic recovery has been taking place in certain medium-sized and small municipalities. The objective of this article is to establish an analogy between the increase in the population of foreigners and economic diversification in these destination municipalities to promote population growth. Based on the use of a database of population and employment by sectors of activity at the municipal level, indicators have been found such as evolutionary rates, the Gibbs-Martin Index and different scatter plots to achieve the objectives established. The research shows that a further increase in the foreign population is taking place in medium-sized municipalities of between 2,000 and 10,000 inhabitants and that, unlike in the period prior to the crisis, their distribution coincides with the diversification of economic activity and the local labor market and not productive specialization. Southern Kurdistan is an area of attraction for the interests of major powers, especially in the second half of the nineteenth century until World War I, due to its economic and strategic importance. Britain, Tsarist Russia, Manba, and France worked during the period extending from the second half of the nineteenth century until World War I to find a foothold for themselves in Southern Kurdistan and the attempt to penetrate among the Kurdish clans. This was represented in many ways, whether through diplomatic activity or travelers and archaeologists For their part, the Kurdish tribes in southern Kurdistan formed an important and distinguished part of the population in terms of their social and economic conditions. Therefore, foreign interests focused on trying to win the loyalty of the Kurdish tribes in southern Kurdistan on their side This study was divided into three axes. The first dealt with giving a brief picture of the importance of the economic and social composition of the clan in southern Kurdistan . The second axis touched on the diplomatic rivalry of major powers and their activity among the Kurdish clans in southern Kurdistan from the second half of the nineteenth century until World War I and the impact of that conflict on the Kurdish clans . The third axis touched on the role of foreign travelers and archaeologists who visited Kurdish tribal areas in southern Kurdistan during the period from the second half of the nineteenth century until World War I in an attempt to establish their influence among the Kurdish clans in southern Kurdistan. The largest part of the contemporary foreign language textbooks are composed of teaching units consisting of a text, thematic dictionary, grammar part, lexical exercises and grammar exercises. Each of these parts should be synchronized with all other parts, i.e. the text should contain as much as possible grammar occurrences explained in the grammar part of the given unit, the thematic dictionary and the text of the unit should regard the same or closely related topic, the lexical exercises should as well cover that topic and the grammar exercises should confirm the knowledge acquired from the grammar information of the given unit. Thus, we said that the text, as a starting component of the teaching unit, should have horizontal connection to the rest of the teaching unit. That horizontal connection is a characteristic or a tendency in all contemporary textbooks, including those used form teaching Macedonian language as a foreign language to foreigners. Another important characteristics of the texts from textbooks as well as all texts for reading for students is the interesting content. It is very common to disregard the importance of these criteria: students to learn new words and not to be amused. However, the memorization of new words and learning grammar structures as well as the whole progress in language learning and the (not) giving up factor depend on the emotions that students develop to the education. There are several ways to achieve interesting text content. One of them is to construct vertical connection of the text: each following text of the next teaching unit to be a new episode of the series, i.e. the life of the characters to be described throughout the whole textbook. In this paper we demonstrate that on two selected textbooks. The first one is the textbook Польська мова за 4 тижні (textbook for Polish language for Ukraine students) and the second one is the textbook Вивчаємо македонську – Учиме македонски (textbook for Macedonian language for Ukraine students). The vertical connection of the texts is actually a challenge for the author of the textbook. In this way, the author must pay attention to the horizontal connection of the material, but he has an additional obligation which is not easily achievable and requires for him to possess a talent of a writer and dramaturge. However, in theory, in the learning of foreign languages, the psychological feelings of calmness and satisfaction could contribute to better memorization of the vocabulary. Hence, if the textbook has vertical connection of the texts, the student will learn each following lesson what more is happening to the characters, that he feels he knows already, as watching a new episode of a TV show. The article deals with specific issues of foreign experience in investigating crimes committed by members of informal youth groups (associations). It is emphasized that the study of foreign experience in the investigation of crimes committed by members of youth informal groups (associations) will contribute to the development and improvement of recommendations for the investigation of the corresponding category of criminal offenses in Ukraine. The peculiarities of detection and investigation of crimes committed by members of youth informal groups (associations) in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada and the USA are analyzed. Most often, French youth can unite in informal groups in connection with a common place of residence (street, district, city), because of race, nationality, political views, social crises, etc. Difficulties in investigating the criminal activities of informal youth in France are associated with the active use of social networks for the preparation and concealment of committed offenses, the organization of gangs, an increase in their number, and a great public outcry. All youth informal groups (associations) in Germany can be divided into 3 types: 1) associations of young people who are migrants, refugees and spend their free time together, live on the same street, in the same district; 2) neo-Nazi youth associations; 3) unification of youth on the basis of political views and protest sentiments. The boom in youth crime in the Netherlands occurred in the early 1980s. But a balanced preventive work, starting in 1985, gave results. An active struggle is being waged against youth neo-Nazi groups (associations) on the Internet. There are 434 youth gangs in Canada with approximately 7,070 members. The greatest concentration of youth gangs in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. In the 50s. XX century. American youth, and students in particular, showed themselves for the first time as an active political force, able to defend their positions on an equal footing with political parties and «adult» public organizations. The youth of that time advocated civil liberties – freedom of speech, organizations, meetings, etc. But informal youth groups in the USA are not only a subcultural phenomenon, but also gangs that actively engage in criminal activities based on the promotion of ideas, views, and lifestyles. In the article, Assessment of local and foreign soybean varieties transpired during 2020-2022, for yield-related traits, at the Samarkand and Navoi regions of Uzbekistan. The soybean cultivars, grown in a randomized complete block design, had a factorial arrangement with three replications. The data were documented on ten plants selected at random from each entry of each replication for the number of pods per plant, the number of seeds per plant, 1000-seed weight and seed yield. The data were scrutinized statistically using the analysis of variance of Fisher's technique and least significant difference (LSD) test at the 5% level of probability. When the yield and yield attributes of local and foreign soybean varieties in the Samarkand and Navoi regions were studied, local Ustoz-MMAn-60 and Tomaris-MMAn-60 soybean varieties showed positive results compared to other varieties for the field conditions of the Samarkand region, while Navoi For the field conditions of the region, Sparta and Oyjamol varieties showed higher indicators compared to other varieties. In the experiment, it was found that some foreign soybean varieties are positive in yield traits of productivity in the region of Uzbekistan. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the interest of increasing national and economic development, Indonesia needs various kinds of support from all aspects. One of them is the presence of foreign investors. However, Indonesia is considered to not fully support the presence of foreign investors, so there are many investment constraints that have not been addressed comprehensively. To fulfill these interests, the Indonesian government formulated policies regarding investment and legal protection provided to foreign investors through Law Number 25 of 2007 concerning Investment. This study aims to determine legal protection and the implications of foreign investment activities in Indonesia. This study uses a normative juridical approach. The primary source of legal material is Law Number 25 of 2007 concerning investment. The source of secondary legal materials uses relevant literature. Data collection were done using the library study method. Data analysis were done using deductive analysis techniques. The data presentation technique uses a qualitative descriptive technique. The results of the study stated that legal protection for foreign investment (PMA) in Indonesia according to Law Number 25 of 2007 concerning investment is the application of the principle of equality for foreign and foreign investors. Legal protection is also given for actions of nationalization, acquisition of ownership, transfer of assets, transfers, and repatriation. Since 1960, Japan's Official Development Assistance (ODA) has been characterized by supporting its government's export promotion program, initially in Asia. In the case of Latin America, Japanese ODA with the support of the public and private sector has shown consistency in order to ensure its economic interests in the region, such as the granting of aid in the case of JICA and the export of capital in the form of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and loans for exports and imports, especially in the strategic sectors (energy, mining, agriculture, manufacturing) in the case of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC, formerly EXIMBANK). However, so far this century and with the arrival of China as the second largest economy in the world after the U.S., the Japanese government proposed a new initiative to ensure and promote order, prosperity, and peace in Latin America, given that the region has strategic natural resources and more than 2 million Japanese descendants. Thus, the objective of this paper is to elucidate the scope of the aid policy in the region, which, we assume, was at the service of the economic and commercial interests of that country in Latin America during the period under study. This can be seen, at first, through the trade surplus that Japan obtained with the countries of the region and the export of capital from that country in the main Latin American economies. Wheat flour is one of the most important sources of nutrients, and it is widely consumed worldwide as a raw ingredient in bread and other pastries. High heavy metal concentrations in the consumed wheat products could induce higher health risks. This study evaluated the heavy metal concentrations in the most available foreign and domestic wheat flour in Sulaimani, Kurdistan Iraq. The wheat flour samples were collected from different locations, and the heavy metal concentration was measured by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). The mean values in wheat flour samples were roughly within the permissible limit set by Iraqi standard (IQS), GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) (GCC - Gulf Cooperation Council), Codex, and FAO/WHO. Heavy metals were detected in the descending order copper (Cu) > lead (Pb) > arsenic (As) > chromium (Cr) > nickel (Ni) > cadmium (Cd) > cobalt (Co). The results showed that wheat flour samples from the Sulaimani markets were slightly contaminated with Ni, and one domestic wheat flour sample with Pb was probably linked to fertiliser and soil contamination. It is concluded that wheat flour could be a source of chronic exposure to toxic heavy metals such as nickel and lead, resulting in adverse health issues later. Consequently, regular monitoring of soil contamination, water quality, and use of recommended levels of fertilisers and pesticides in the agricultural areas of Sulaimani are recommended.

Madam, Medical brain drain describes a condition where highly skilled healthcare workers leave their country of origin to work overseas in search of better working conditions, higher pay, or more opportunities for career advancement leading to deprivation of medical professionals and a loss of expertise and talent (1). Unfortunately, the exodus of skilled individuals from Pakistan is jeopardises country's intellectual assets and demands immediate attention. Skilled healthcare workers shortage is worsening in Pakistan due to the high number of talented professionals migrating for better career opportunities in the foreign land. According to the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment in 2022 alone, approximately 765,000 Pakistanis, including 2,500 physicians, left the country, highlighting the severity of the situation (2) The medical profession is highly regarded in Pakistan and attracts a significant number of people. Despite this, Pakistan is among the 57 countries that lack sufficient human health resources to fulfil its healthcare requirements and objectives. The country is confronted with a considerable discrepancy in the ratio of doctors to patients which stands at 1:1300, significantly below the ratio of 1:1000 recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) (3) The degradation of the healthcare system, shortage of residency positions and lower salaries during a period of high inflation, coupled with cultural biases and undervaluation of professions like nursing have led to a shortage of healthcare staff. Moreover, societal expectations for women to prioritize their domestic duties contribute to the disproportionate number of female doctors leaving the medical field. This further burdens the healthcare system by increasing the workload for the remaining healthcare professionals (4) Brain drain hampers economic growth and innovation by robbing the nation of its skilled professionals and their expertise. This issue can be addressed by adopting a comprehensive approach such. Improving the healthcare infrastructure and working conditions, increasing residency positions and salaries and providing better job opportunities could help retain competent doctors. Encouraging research on brain drain can aid policymakers in developing tailored policies based on the country's needs. These measures can help Pakistan build a robust healthcare system and provide quality medical services to its people.

Purpose: We aimed to compare cancer mortality among foreign- and Colombian populations in Colombia during the period of 2006–2020. Methods: This retrospective study utilized vital statistics from the Colombian National Department of Statistics (DANE). The dataset included variables such as age group, sex, country of permanent residency, insurance, education level, marital status, ethnicity, and cause of death. The population data to calculate rates was obtained from the Colombian census and the United Nations. Crude and adjusted rates as well as proportional mortality rates were calculated. Results: A total of 561,932 cancer deaths occurred in Colombia from 2006 to 2020. The foreign population (country of permanent residency different to Colombia) had a lower crude cancer mortality rate (31.1 per 100,000 inhabitants) than the Colombian population (81.9 per 100,000 inhabitants). However, the age-adjusted cancer mortality rate among the foreign population was 253.6 per 100,000, compared to 86.1 per 100,000 among the Colombian population. The proportional cancer mortality was 10.4 % among foreign population compared to 17.4 % among Colombian population. Conclusions: The proportional cancer mortality shows that the proportion of cancer-related deaths is greater among the Colombian population compared to the immigrant population. However, immigrants in Colombia have a higher age-adjusted cancer mortality rate than Colombians, indicating that immigrants have worse cancer outcomes than the Colombians even though the immigrant population is younger. This is likely due to the frequent barriers that immigrants encounter in accessing health care in Colombia. Future research needs to focus on access to care for the immigrant population by investigating cancer-related risk factors among immigrants and addressing their barriers to cancer prevention and treatment.

The construction industry has great potential for carbon emission reduction, which strongly impacts the peak of carbon emissions and carbon neutrality. This paper compares foreign and Chinese articles on building carbon emissions from publication objects, journals, subject categories, authors, and institutions. It discusses the differences in research trends and hotspots from keywords, reference co-citation analysis, and historical citation analysis. The results show that the number of publications on building carbon emissions steadily increased. The research on building carbon emissions in foreign articles is earlier and more systematic than that in China, and the output and influence of foreign articles are generally more prominent than those of Chinese articles. However, the production and influence of articles by certain Chinese authors and institutions have been remarkable. The topics of 'CO2 emission', 'life-cycle assessment', 'environmental impact', 'greenhouse gas emission', and 'renewable energy' are essential subjects for foreign and Chinese articles in the research field of building carbon emissions and the development trend is similar. The thematic direction of Chinese articles is more divergent and lacks well-developed themes that greatly influence other research themes. Finally, based on the research results, this study puts forward the potential future research direction of building carbon emissions. The results of this study will provide a current and systematic overview of this field, which will be helpful for future researchers to promote the development of research on building carbon emissions. Financing refers to the process of concentrating financial resources or capital in the medium and long term. The purpose of economic sanctions is to deprive an economy from benefiting from the global markets of goods, services and capital. Today, the topics related to the types of project financing contracts are important topics in international economy and financial management. Considering the political conditions of the country as well as economic sanctions, the risk of investing in the country is high. In this study, the influencing factors on the ways of foreign financing in the conditions of Iran sanctions have been investigated using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results show that legal reforms, solutions to overcome the sanctions, financial incentives granted by the host country, financial incentives granted by capital exporting countries, investment in the stock portfolio, reducing the risk of investment in the country, long-term, medium-term and short-term economic factors, political and security factors. Among managers and experts, it has an effect on foreign financing in the conditions of sanctions.

The subjective evaluation of the consumer, which is created by the interpretation and meaning of the concepts of information about the product and service that he receives. Because, by observing and examining the products and services they receive from the organization, customers give psychological feedback and perception of the quality of the product and service in their minds. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of consumer perceptions on the behaviors and attitudes of consumers of foreign home appliances in Mashhad. This research is a survey description based on the applied purpose and in terms of data collection method. The statistical population in this study are consumers of foreign home appliances in Mashhad. The sample size was determined based on 5-10 times the number of items (23 * 10) 230 people and the questionnaire was distributed among them in a non-probabilistic way. The data collection tool in this study is the standard questionnaire of Chong and Kim (2019) which was used to confirm the reliability of the questionnaire from Cronbach's alpha and for validity of the questionnaire from face validity and confirmation of experts and construct validity using factor loads. Validity is a questionnaire. Also, data analysis was performed by structural equation modeling method using Amos and SPSS. The results indicate that consumer perceptions have a positive and significant effect on consumer behaviors and attitudes. Perceived beliefs about the brand do not have a significant effect on brand loyalty, but have a significant positive effect on the intention to buy and the intention to buy recommended, and finally, perceived values of the brand have a significant positive effect on brand loyalty and intention to buy, while the intention to buy recommendation. While the complexity of the methodological and legislative-technical apparatus of conflict of laws has, in the eyes of its critics, created an aura of impermeability, they are, in fact, instruments through which a relationship to the foreign is conveyed and articulated. However, conflict of laws is not an immutable system of rules but rather a technique that undergoes varying degrees of development depending on the changing premises on which it is built. These are notably defined by different approaches to the values that frame the conflicts resolution. Depending on these values, the available instruments of conflict of laws are used to achieve different objectives. This results not only in a confluence of different methods but also in changes within a particular method. Against the backdrop of the value transformations of conflict of laws, this paper seeks to demonstrate that the abandonment of methodological purism of conflict of laws necessarily entails the abandonment of relational purism towards the foreign. By contrast, insofar as transformations within the dominant multilateral method are concerned, it is argued that the changes in value orientation have not led to a fundamental change in the nature of the relationship to the foreign. Entrepreneurship resilience during a crisis is an important research area. However, prior research has not examined cognitive antecedents of entrepreneurial resilience. Using the 2014 oil price crisis in the Middle East as a natural experiment, we draw on system justification theory to understand why and how entrepreneurs differ in the extent of their attitudinal changes toward corruption. We find foreign entrepreneurs substantially increased their willingness to engage in corruption whereas local entrepreneurs did not. Among foreign entrepreneurs, corruption willingness increases more among those from countries where corruption is not the norm, than those from more corrupt home countries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper aims to outline the most commonly prominent features used in determining a lexical item as a discourse marker in terms of pragmatic perspectives. In this study, 14 Iraqi teachers of English from different secondary schools which have been individually interviewed and asked about their familiarity with discourse markers and, whether they were training their students to identify them as a skill or not? The samples of conversations are randomly selected from the English for Iraq curriculum, particularly, third intermediate book. It has been shown that secondary school teachers of English have been unable to recognize discourse markers nor to know their functions in conversation. All of the 14 informants have shown their in comprehension of discourse markers. Therefore, the study has come up with certain recommendations that are supposed to solve this lack of knowledge in teaching English as a foreign language in Iraq

This study aims to determine Gen Z's intention to choose a working environment under the influence of their views on living and working. Some of the main motivations included in the test were those driven by Personal growth, Financial benefits, Psychological influence, and Social concerns. Results from 1073 responses from students born in 2000-2003 show that the majority of them choose to work for a foreign company based in the country with a balanced lifestyle between work and life. The main motives leading to this choice are self-development, a secure income, as well as the impact of peer pressure. This study has provided empirical evidence for educators and national administrators in formulating strategies to train high-quality human resources to meet labor market needs; simultaneously, with solutions to attract human resources for the country's internal and sustainable development. The aim of this paper is to analyse hate speech in 19th century Germany from a linguistic perspective. The paper thus examines the works of three German authors who are regarded as exemplary for the emergence and further development of German-language hate speech: 1) Ernst Moritz Arndt, Über den Volkshaß und über den Gebrauch einer fremden Sprache (1813); 2) Wilhelm Marr (1819-1904), Der Sieg des Judenthums über das Germanenthum (1879), and 3) Otto Böckel (1859-1923), Die Juden - Die Könige unserer Zeit (1887). The analysis shows that the hate language had been particularly present in journalism and literature since the end of the 18th century, affecting diverse aspects of social life and becoming part of the political debate, especially during the emergence of the German nation after the Napoleonic wars. Domestic trade was played an important role in ancient Egypt. Control of trade and exchange networks were important sources of power and wealth. Trade began in the Predynastic period in ancient Egypt and continued through Roman Egypt. Foreign trade with other lands attracted covetous attention from abroad. Temples in ancient Egypt used agents for internal trade and local markets flourished. A s well as trade and communication between the Pharaoh and foreign rulers established Egypt as a powerful unified nation in the ancient world. In addition, ancient Egypt traded goods with other countries such as Asia Minor and Arabia. Egypt's ingenuity in building and sailing boats was vital to the land's economic and political strength. Egypt and its neighbors through the Ptolemaic period used the economic and artistic exchange system. The economy of the Roman Empire was an exchange economy. The currency was not known in Egypt until after the fourth century B.C when it was introduced from Greece. Ancient Egypt knew the currency system only in late times. Ancient Egypt's economy operated on a barter system without cash. Social change that the Ptolemais introduced in Egypt such as coinage. Therefore, the Greco Roman world indicates clear historical correlations between monetization and the developments of markets. The Ptolemaic initially issued gold, silver and bronze coins. As well as Egypt played an important part of the Roman administration, because of the economic importance of its agricultural resources, its geographic location on trade routes from the Red Sea and Nubia. Taxation was a part of trading arrangements so the trade was important in the country's income, as well as ancient records mentioned ancient transaction documents of trade. Ptolemaic tax receipts are generally Greek, Demotic receipts are found as well as Greek receipts with Demotic subscriptions showing native scribes at work in the bank. Alexandria great harbor had a paramount trade, military and political value both for the city and for the country as a whole. Under Romans, one of the major changes was taxation. In both Ptolemaic and Roman Egypt, public registers played an effective role in trade. Under Ptolemaic and Romans Alexandria became an important transshipment center. As well as under Roman rule Egypt became the main conduit for seaborne trade in products from India such as spices and incense. Eastern desert of Egypt and the red sea were strategically and economically important. Under Roman rule, a number of ports along the Egyptian red sea coast and routes across the eastern desert were established. The Nile River was essential for the development of internal and foreign trade and for contacts with abroad. The Indonesian government issued a policy that restricts foreign ownership in several industries including the food industry, with the objective of protecting the domestically owned firm. This research analyzed the productivity differences between foreign-owned and domestically owned plants in the Indonesian food industry and whether the percentage of foreign ownership is related to productivity. Micro data on the food industry were obtained from the Annual Survey of Large and Medium scale Industries (IBS) in 2015 conducted by Statistics Indonesia. The results showed that there were productivity differences between the foreign-owned and domestically owned plants. The foreign-owned plants had higher productivity than the domestic plants. The productivity of plants with minority foreign ownership (less than 50 percent) was not significantly different from that of domestically owned plants. Meanwhile, the productivity of plants with foreign ownership more than 50 percent was significantly different from that of plants with domestic ownership. Wholly foreignowned plants (100 percent) did not demonstrate the highest productivity difference. When the data were disaggregated at the sub-sector level, the results varied among industries.

This paper describes the complexity of the clinical management of foreign minors suffering from cancer, through the clinical experience of an Italian referral center. The study includes 50 patients less than 18 years (22% of the patients admitted to the unit in 2023), 32 foreigners who were Italian resident and 18 who had come to Italy specifically to receive cancer treatment. Patients who migrate for healthcare reasons often arrive at the referral center with advanced disease or relapse. Numerous socio-cultural issues were reported. To address them, specific strategies were implemented to ensure equal and high-quality care for all patients, respecting their needs., (© 2024 The Author(s).
