Forest fires generate problems at various scales, and in Conservation Units they promote degradation of vegetation, significant impacts on biodiversity, financial losses and even loss of life. In this context, the aim of this article to analyze and map the outbreaks of fire in the Ilha Grande National Park (PNIG), in August 2019, as well as to identify the evolution of the burned area over the period. For the mapping of the burnt area daily, images from the AQUA M-T satellite were used together with the heat sources acquired from the Burning Database available on the INPE website. And, to show the relationship between the burned area and the meteorological variables, data from the Itaquiraí - MS meteorological station were used. The results show that in the analyzed period 85% of the PNIG were burned, with emphasis on 14/09 with 336.44km² of affected area. It was also possible to verify that the meteorological variables, mainly the wind speed, have a direct relationship with the burned area, that is, the higher the wind speed, the greater the area affected.
