Death is an inevitable end that awaits every living thing. In many beliefs and cultures, there are some teachings and rituals to make this necessary process bearable for human beings. In the Islamic tradition, interpreting the manner and time of death, speaking charity to the deceased and comforting their relatives is considered an important cultural value. Narration material plays a major role in the formation and spread of this culture. One of the motives affecting the Islamic society's value judgments about death is the set of narrations stating that there will be no torment in the grave for the person who dies on Friday. This group of narrations, known in many segments of society and finding a place in religious life, is mentioned in condolence assemblies to console the grieving families who lost their relatives and to serve as a prayer for the deceased. However, it seems extremely essential to examine and analyze the authenticity of such narratives that shape the values of the society before they turn into widespread public acceptance, in order for the trend to take a correct path. However, in this article, we will try to determine whether the narrations about death that give a special meaning to Friday are a hadith and to reveal their authenticity. In this context, before moving on to the chain and text criticism of the mentioned group of narrations, the place and importance of Friday in Islamic culture will be briefly touched upon, and then the most ancient sources in which the narration is recorded and the quality of the hadith will be tried to be determined. The most efficient way to correctly understand the lines of a narration is to create an isnad diagram in which all the lines of the hadith are depicted. At this point, an isnad scheme depicting the narrators of the narration as mentioned in the basic hadith sources will be included. However, considering the limitations of the article type, the scope of the study h. It will be limited to hadith books dating back to the fifth century. Then, in order to make a sound send criticism, the evaluations of all the narrators in the isnad made by the scholars of cerh and tamil will be included. In this way, attention will be drawn to the strengths and weaknesses of the narrators mentioned in the isnad. In the last part of the article, the authenticity of the narration will be tried to be determined by text criticism. At this point, the opinions of those who have positive and negative approaches to the hadith and also the evaluation of these approaches will be included. In this way, the background of the reflexes and ways of thinking developed by scholars towards the hadith will be tried to be determined. As a result, this study will evaluate whether the narrations stating that dying on Friday is different from other days are evidence of the acceptance of the virtue of dying on this day in the Islamic society.
