In 1947, Emmanuel Levinas published a short essay entitled “Being Jewish” (“Être juif”) in the magazine Confluences. Starting from a reflection on “the Jewish question” or “problem” (Judenfrage), Levinas inquiries into the “reason for being” or justification of Jewish existence. His essay has been the subject of a reappropriation by some interpreters who make Levinas’s claim of “being Jewish” the fulcrum of an ontological conversion or Heideggerianization of his thought. This paper aims to critically analyze one of these hermeneutic perspectives, that of Sarah Hammerschlag, addressing two decisive questions opened by Levinas’s text: Jewish identity and Judaism in history. La vida no es más que un sueño. Desde Heráclito y Parménides hasta la actualidad, esta hipótesis de que solamente vivimos en los sueños en los que nos sueña un supuesto espíritu o voluntad universal, ha merecido una atención filosófica en distintos momentos históricos. Si así fuera, no somos sino espectros en un mundo soñado. Todo es sueño. Heráclito distingue ese mundo propio de cada cual, en el que nos sumergimos al dormir y en el que soñamos, de otro mundo en gran medida compartido con otras personas cuando estamos despiertos. Siendo así, alternamos la vida en dos mundos, en sueños, pero también en vigilia. Zubiri habla de procesos humanos de irrealización de los contenidos aprehendidos en la formalidad de realidad que nos es dada en aprehensión primordial. Es la construcción provisional de contenidos de mundos irreales, pero siempre desde una realidad en la que ya estamos instalados. Soñar, fantasear, construir espectros y ficciones, son algunas modalidades de esa irrealización. Pero vivimos solamente en un mundo, en la realidad, y es en ella y desde ella como podemos fantasear y soñar. A nuestro entender, la primera hipótesis metafísica de que toda la vida no sea sino un sueño puede recibir al menos dos críticas. Por una parte, es una idea que se basa en la atribución, en la extrapolación discutible, de una capacidad humana, la de poder soñar o fantasear, a instancias metafísicas extrahumanas que nos sobrepasan, sean Brahman, o espíritu, o voluntad universal. Por otro lado, pensemos si algunos caracteres tan determinantes de las entrañas de nuestra vida encarnada, como el dolor y el sufrimiento, algunas formas de amor, o la firme confianza en una promesa personal recibida, por citar algunos, ¿son solo ensoñaciones? Si estas críticas fueras ciertas, la vida sería algo más que un sueño.

The subject of dreams in Foucault's work holds a marginal place, although it displays intermittent persistence over time. It can be traced first in his early writings on Binswanger, then in his reflections on the history of madness, and finally in his explorations of "technologies of the self" in Antiquity. This article proposes an itinerary through these three moments when Foucault engages with dreams, aiming to detect the different modulations of this pathway to existence, history, and "technologies of the self," as an alternative to the "psychologizing" model. Em sua Autobiografia, Bertrand Russell menciona uma epifania acerca do Argumento Ontológico a que o filósofo atribui o seu afastamento do idealismo. O presente trabalho tem como finalidade mensurar a influência do Argumento no pensamento russelliano, que se dará a partir de uma análise das duas posturas assumidas por Russell frente ao raciocínio: primeiro, a de que entender existência como uma propriedade é uma incoerência gramatical e, segundo, a que aceita a validade do Argumento mas que enxerga nele uma falácia de petição de princípio. Assim, vislumbraremos questões que permitiram ao pensador a criação de inovadoras concepções de lógica simbólica.

En algo más de setenta páginas, acompañadas de unas cuantas fotografías tomadas por amigas y amigos, Mari Carmen Díez Navarro comparte hasta cincuenta poemas que nos invitan a considerar lo cotidiano con otras luces y a otros ritmos. Poemas que, quizás, nos reconcilien con la palabra oficio.

En las últimas décadas, algunos de los enfoques que han tomado en consideración la doctrina del acto de ser tomista (actus essendi) han llegado a conclusiones a veces drásticas sobre la originalidad de la que es la enseñanza más importante de Tomás de Aquino. En efecto, su filosofía del ser se basa en la relación acto-potencia entre forma y ser, así como en la distinción real de esencia y ser, derivada de ella. En este estudio queremos afrontar un doble reto: el de justificar por qué es necesario un acto de ser en la metafísica tomista, y el de mostrar por qué esta actualidad (esse) no se identifica con la existencia o el ser de la cosa, como ha pretendido la escuela tomista durante su trayectoria.

This analysis uses the notion of anthropotechnics developed by the philosopher Peter Sloterdijk as its starting point. The author assumes that humans are exercising beings in that day by day we carry out a series of diary routines that allow us to shape our existence. Within this process, we encounter social institutions that guide those anthropotechnics exercises. From an exhaustive characterization of Sloterdijk's approach, we propose the notion of negative anthropotechnics (as the inverse of anthropotechnics) to refer to an alternative understanding of the counterindicated exercises that are performed in opposition to legitimized and idealized values of how to shape existence. We conclude that negative anthropotechnics can be an analytical resource to approach malpractice as a historical phenomenon and to the existential potency of some lives that are expressed as privileged negativity, abjection, or marginality. This article brings into prominence the constitutive aspects of Dasein exposed by Heidegger in Being and Time, which will be referred to a literary character as an example of one possible application from the existential analytics to the literary field. Whit it pretends to relate the conception of existence and death from Heidegger's philosophical thought with Vallejo's literary representation. To this target are analyzed the peculiar terms from fields and authors chosen and are contrasted in search for affinity. Dentro de las tesis que definen la metafísica de Leibniz, destaca aquella según la cual las esencias encierran una pretensión a la existencia. Esta tesis ha despertado un singular interés entre los comentaristas de Leibniz, dando origen a un debate que enfrenta a aquellos que defienden una interpretación metafórica con aquellos que profesan una interpretación literal: si el primer grupo sostiene que tal pretensión ha de entenderse como una atribución metafórica en virtud de la cual las esencias, desprovistas de tal característica, son susceptibles de alcanzar la existencia al ser actualizadas por Dios, para el segundo grupo, las esencias son portadoras en sí de tal característica, la que debe entenderse entonces como una cualidad real e inherente presente en ellas. A partir de un examen de diversos manuscritos de Leibniz, nuestro propósito es reivindicar una interpretación literal de la tesis de la pretensión de las esencias a la existencia, explicando por qué la interpretación metafórica, además de carecer de fundamento, entraña contradicciones.

La existencia constituye un desafio para la relación entre pensamiento y realidad. Se aborda aquí esta problemática a partir de una aproximación entre Hegel y Tomás de Aquino, siendo que ambos sitúan la verdad en el ámbito de lo inteligible. Ahora bien, la realidad, al convocar la existencia, convoca también una reflexión sobre la inteligibilidad misma. Tomás encara la existencia como condición necesaria para la inteligibilidad; Hegel apela a la inteligibilidad como condición necesaria para la existencia. El talante metafísico de esta discusión (diacrónica) alcanza su culminación en la cuestión sobre la existencia de Dios.

A distinção de essência e existência figurou como uma das questões fundamentais da metafísica durante a escolástica. Duns Scotus rejeita expressamente a tese de que a essência e a existência de um ente sejam distintas realmente (realiter). Para compreender essa rejeição, analisamos neste artigo a noção de coisa (res) na doutrina de Scotus, especialmente na sua crítica a Henrique de Gand acerca do estatuto ontológico dos criáveis, levando em consideração a recepção da doutrina das primeiras noções do intelecto de Avicena. Scotus e Henrique adotam escopos distintos da noção de res e concluem divergentemente acerca da questão da essência e existência no contexto da criação do mundo. Também analisamos o argumento de Scotus quanto à natureza da simplicidade encontrada na criação, e como o Doutor Sutil argumenta pela rejeição de uma composição real (realis) necessária no ente criado rejeitando também, consequentemente, a distinção real de essência e existência.

O objetivo deste artigo é compreender a maneira como se efetiva o valor da existência dos chamados “animais de companhia” ou “de estimação” a partir da relação entre essa existência e o dinheiro. Com base na análise contrastiva de dois casos representativos de uma pesquisa sobre tratamentos veterinários considerados dispendiosos por “donos”, “tutores”, “humanos”, “pais” de “pets”, discutimos como despesas com a preservação da vida se tornam ao mesmo tempo índices da valorização dessas vidas e um desafio moral ligado a uma relação de hostilização com o econômico – por meio da transfiguração de valores quantitativos em signos qualitativos. Essa valorização passa por pensar os bichos de estimação mais do que como simplesmente vidas, vendo-os como “existências”, isto é, como vidas tratadas em termos de sua finitude, a serem valoradas e avaliadas na medida de suas singularidades, diferenças e igualdades e da evitação de seu sofrimento. Combinando uma antropologia das construções de valor dos animais não humanos com uma sociologia pragmática/pragmatista da moral atenta ao pluralismo de quadros de valor e às formas de efetivação de ações/situações, discutimos como comparecem na interrelação entre dinheiro e existência animal os três fenômenos da questão do valor como conferidor de sentido que nossos trabalhos têm mostrado primordiais, a valoração, a avaliação e a valorização.

O tema da existência de Deus é apresentado por São Boaventura a partir de três vias que conduzem o pensamento humano à certeza natural, enquanto adesão firme à verdade que a inteligência conhece, seja segundo as razões eternas, seja por meio de provas demonstrativas. Essas três vias consideram respectivamente, o autoconhecimento da alma; o reconhecimento do mundo exterior, na relação entre as criaturas e o criador; e o plano da evidência imediata e suficiente por si para engendrar a verdade indubitável. Será apresentado neste artigo o desenvolvimento argumentativo das provas da existência de Deus, segundo São Boaventura, no (1) Comentário às Sentenças (I, distinção VIII) e, (2) nas Questões disputadas sobre o mistério de Cristo (Q. I a.1), duas obras marcadas pela atividade docente do Doutor Seráfico na universidade medieval. Pretendo mostrar que essas provas, especialmente a terceira, são devedoras da ratio anselmi, já conhecida na escolástica medieval latina do século XIII.

O presente artigo procura trazer uma compreensão de um caso clínico, à luz da ontologia existencial do filósofo Martin Heidegger (1889-1976) e a sua analítica do Dasein, denominada daseinsanalítica. Pensamento esse, trazido pelo psiquiatra e psicoterapeuta suíço Medard Boss (1903-1990) para embasar sua maneira de abordar o fenômeno patológico em sua clínica. Procuraremos trazer além dos aspectos gerais do caso clínico, o esclarecimento de algumas dimensões da experiência da paciente a partir da perspectiva de Boss, sobre como realiza seu existir e sobre a noção de privação.

O presente artigo analisa os conflitos existenciais, que se estudam como “fraturas” dos personagens, Luana e Gad, a partir da obra dramatúrgica Um judeu na minha cama, da escritora contemporânea Lília Silva, publicado em 1976. O termo abordado nesse artigo por “sujeitos fraturados”, advém das teorias de Luiz Costa Lima (2000), o sujeito fraturado se constitui por sua por suas fendas e inquietudes. Não é um ser pronto, mas mutável como parte imprescindível da alteridade. Os protagonistas, Luana e Gad, vivenciam as fraturas e as expõe, uma tentativa de entender a condição existencial de cada um e fugir da infelicidade. Partindo dos estudos psicanalíticos e filosóficos aliados à literatura, o dualismo apresentado pela obra, revela dois conflitos antagônicos e preponderantes em sua teoria: o primeiro diz respeito à busca cega e solitária do homem pela felicidade, como forma de autoafirmação da vontade. O segundo se opõe a este, pois se refere ao destino que impõe o sofrimento aos indivíduos, o que é um dos princípios da autonegação da vontade de viver.

The present article intends to reflect on a clinical case in light of the existential ontology proposed by the philosopher Martin Heidegger (1889-1976) and his analysis of the Dasein (daseinsanalysis). This perspective is used by Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist Medard Boss (1903-1990) to support his approach on the pathological phenomena in his clinic Through the intertwining of thoughts by Heidegger and Boss, we will dwell on the understanding of the “improper” proposed by the former, which comes to be the primary mode of Dasein, that, although conditioning, is also an enabler of transformation. General aspects of a clinical case (initiated after a limiting situation, i.e., marital separation) will also be examined and some dimensions of her experience will be clarified from Boss’s perspective, especially regarding her existence and notions of restriction (or deprivation). Ethics has carried out different exercises to substantiate moral life throughout its history. Mainly, these proposals had managed to establish the rules of conduct or the description of an exemplary life as guides for human freedom. However, François Jullien proposes a different path, which is to understand the foundation of morality being generated from the relationships between individuals. In this work the proposal of the French philosopher on the possibility of founding morality in the meeting with the other will be investigated. In addition, it will be investigated if it is possible, for the same reason, to found morality in an event rather than in the traditional conception of being of metaphysics. Finally, the possible consequences that this proposal could have to enrich the understanding of ethics as a discipline will be studied. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Kierkegaard styled himself as a poet and Christian thinker, whose orientation is primarily philosophical and theological. He does not intend to interpret conceptually the truth of faith. He seeks rather spiritual edification. Making use of indirect communication, and adopting a language predominantly figural and metaphoric, challenges the reader to appropriate inwardly the religious truth with a view to its practical expression in the ethical existence. Kierkegaard’s critique of theology does not simply question some theological approaches. He shows an evident contempt for academic theology and the theologians who advance it. Kierkegaard resorts to the theologians of the patristic period to defend the existential character of faith. He finds in them important allies in his battle against the complacent and amorphous Christianity that prevailed in the nineteenth century Denmark. It is unlikely that any consensus concerning the importance of Kierkegaard for theology will ever be reached. The dialectic tension of his thought resists systematization and easy interpretative closure. Although some aspects of his theological approach move beyond the boundary line of Lutheran orthodoxy and come close to Catholicism, the main impetus of his thought is still protestant and predominantly Lutheran. For Kierkegaard the primary aim of theology lies not in reinterpreting and expounding doctrines but in spurring the experience and practice of faith in the concrete circumstances of the believer’s existence. Intensamente discutidos na filosofia da ciência nos séculos XX e XXI, os temas do realismo e do antirrealismo perpassam a obra de Feyerabend. No entanto, discernir a posição do autor sobre esses assuntos constitui um problema para estudiosos de sua filosofia. Sinal dessa dificuldade é que eles atribuem a Feyerabend a adesão a (ou a rejeição de) diferentes concepções de realismo e de antirrealismo. Apesar das divergências, porém, estudiosos abordam o tema de modo semelhante, detectando elementos das posições realistas e antirrealistas de Feyerabend que são incompatíveis entre si e que se sucedem no decorrer de sua obra. Embora tais pesquisas sejam valiosas, propomo-nos explorar outra abordagem, que também nos parece pertinente. Examinando escritos de Feyerabend, buscamos discernir condições que tornam possível ao autor assumir, sem contradição, posições realistas e antirrealistas. Por fim, procuramos depreender da concepção de ciência de Feyerabend características do realismo prescrito pelo autor, assim como características do realismo por ele proscrito.

Se propone una exposición de los fundamentos fenomenológicos que permiten una reflexión acerca del horizonte intersubjetivo en L'Être et le Néant. En este contexto, no es un objetivo la exposición detallada del argumento central que en la obra de 1943 se presenta como conflicto entre ser-para-sí y ser-para-otro. Antes que esto, se busca delinear los argumentos que llevan a Sartre a plantear una afectividad originaria (prerreflexiva) en esta obra, desde los trabajos previos acerca de la emoción y la vivencia del rostro del otro. Con esto, se propone una lectura de la intersubjetividad a partir del deseo como trascendencia fundamental.

En este trabajo nos proponemos exponer la importancia de la afectividad en la fenomenología francesa contemporánea de la mano de dos conceptos centrales del pensamiento de Henri Maldiney: lo transposible y la transpasibilidad. Además, nos esforzaremos en concretar y ahondar en esta cuestión atendiendo a la experiencia del duelo, esto es, la pérdida del otro como acontecimiento afectivo. Para ello recurriremos a algunas ideas de Claude Romano, pero también, y a modo de situación descriptiva, a los testimonios literarios de la escritora y periodista Joan Didion y del escritor C.S. Lewis. La experiencia del duelo se mostrará, así, como un caso ejemplar en el que el existente es afectado por los acontecimientos. Finalmente, y como conclusión, habremos podido pensar la radical exposición o apertura de la existencia a los acontecimientos (transpasibilidad), así como la capacidad de estos para tocar y tras-tocar los horizontes del sujeto.

This article seeks to outline schematically the philosophical problem that underlies the main thesis of the German philosopher Markus Gabriel, namely, that the world does not exist, or in other words, a totality of the real is neither possible nor conceivable, nor is there a transversal or fundamental element of reality as a whole This problem stems from the quintessential ontological question: What exists? This, in turn, is based on the question of what it means to exist. The analysis of the notion of existence will show that: (1) it cannot be an authentic property, as it does not allow the identification and distinction of objects; (2) because of this, there cannot be a total definition of 'existence,' and therefore, there cannot be a realm of objects characterized solely by it. In the first systematic study of Kierkegaard's psychology, Kierkegaard's Psychology (1972), written in Danish by Kresten Nordentoft, the author considers that the first attempt to present Kierkegaard's psychological theories was made by Rollo May in The Meaning of Anxiety (1950). In 1958, together with Ernest Angel and Henri Ellenberguer, May also edited Existence. A new dimension in Psychiatry and Psychology. The aim of this article is to describe the way in which May conceives Kierkegaard as a "psychologist", based on the analysis of existentialism and its coincidence with psychoanalysis in the diagnosis of the "crisis of the modern individual". The last decade in the field of Geography has been marked by a strong presence of the body in studies and research, especially concerning the process of spatial production. By understanding the school as a produced space and the body as a constituent element of spatial production, the argument of this text is that the encounter between school and Geography occurs through the body. This presupposes a departure from the initial relationship between Geography and school through the logic of teaching reduced to the epistemological object. Following the traces of an embodied Geography, this encounter represents a continuous dynamic of relating to difference, which challenges and shapes it. Drawing from a shared experience in the school space as a catalyst for the discussions in this text, we address a thought exercise, which incorporates the body's sensory experiences. The argument developed seeks to think of difference as an echo, dismantling the binary logic that constructs difference as a different other and, in this way, reimagining the production of school space based on the implication and infinity that the spatiality of the body entails. In this way, the geographical production in the school space, the spatiality of the body as a production of meaning and an act of creation, constitutes itself as a geographical practice intertwined with life and existence. In this article we analyze the relationship between faith and the teleological suspension of ethics in the opus Fear and Trembling, by the Danish Søren Aabye Kierkegaard, present in Problem I of this publication. The objective is to infer faith as the superior and paradoxical condition of human existence, not understanding by reason. In order to reach this objective, Fear and Trembling will be presented briefly, the concepts of faith and teleological suspension of ethics in Problem I will be interpreted and the dialectical relationship between faith and ethics will be analyzed. Kierkegaard's thinking allows us to conclude that faith is inapprehensible by reason, typified by ethics in the work in question, presents existential and relational elements not limited to rationality, and lived in the interiority, which finds ultimate meaning in the transcendent. Em momentos de crise cultural, social e política, a pergunta “o que é o homem?” faz-se necessária. Nesse sentido, este artigo científico tem como objetivo analisar o pensamento de Soren Kierkegaard acerca de problemas existenciais a partir da investigação bibliográfica de suas obras, enriquecendo a pesquisa com outros autores e comentadores que ajudarão a compreender o pensamento do filósofo dinamarquês. Em um primeiro momento, apresentou-se o existencialismo introduzindo linhas gerais da filosofia de Kierkegaard, e posteriormente o tema propriamente dito. O conteúdo do trabalho aborda a dimensão temporal do homem até alcançar, precisamente, os estágios existenciais, centro do pensamento kierkegaardiano. Para tanto, abordou-se também conceitos que ajudarão na compreensão do tema, a fim de que o leitor mergulhe frutuosamente em seu pensamento.

Este artículo tiene como objetivo aclarar la noción suareciana de «realidad». Se defenderá la insuficiencia de las lecturas principales del asunto, que constituyen dos bloques enfrentados: el esencialismo objetivista y el existencialismo. El autor considerará que la reflexión sobre lo real en Suárez está soportada por la unidad paradójica de objetividad y existencia: el peso que tiene la dimensión ontológica, la problemática en torno al ens qua ens, impide pensar la realidad desde el plano exclusivo de la creación; pero, al mismo tiempo, lo real guarda una relación necesaria con la existencia. Esta unidad paradójica tiene a su base la tensión entre dos claves barrocas: el mundo considerado como representación, pero sostenida, a su vez, por una clave de bóveda teológica y oculta.

Este artículo constituye una aproximación hermenéutico-fenomenológica a Los lirios del campo y las aves del cielo de Kierkegaard. El propósito de estas páginas es poner de manifiesto los rasgos esenciales de la existencia cristiana como modalidad de la vida fáctica. En la primera sección se exhiben la condición de posibilidad y las características e implicaciones éticas de esta última. En la segunda se reflexiona sobre la alternativa de seguir a Cristo u optar por la búsqueda del reconocimiento. En la tercera sección se muestra que la imitación de Cristo es la única vía para llegar a ser sí mismo. La tesis que se quiere demostrar es que el cristianismo es la forma de existencia que permite superar la preocupación mundana.

en este escrito se hará un acercamiento a los conceptos de existencia y estar-en-el-mundo de Heidegger, tal como son expuestos en Ser y tiempo, es decir, a partir de la hermenéutica del Dasein, aunque en algunos pasajes se recurrirá, también, a otras obras del autor alemán, ya sea para matizar o reforzar ciertos aspectos del asunto. Asimismo, se buscará mostrar cómo dichos conceptos se relacionan y se enmarcan en una investigación más amplia sobre la pregunta por el sentido del ser. En síntesis, el objetivo de este escrito es desarrollar un acercamiento a los conceptos de existencia y ser-en-el-mundo o estar-en-el-mundo y su relación y lugar dentro de la indagación heideggeriana que se cuestiona por el sentido del ser. Además, se indicarán, a grandes rasgos, algunas similitudes y vínculos entre el pensamiento de Heidegger y el de Ortega y Gasset y Sartre, teniendo siempre como puntos de referencia los conceptos centrales que aborda este trabajo. Por último, se considerará si las lecturas filosóficas de los autores examinados aún son adecuadas para describir el fenómeno de la vida, vale decir, al ser humano y su existencia concreta.

Este artigo possui como principal objetivo propor um debate sobre a temática do tempo, existência e (in)finitude nos filmes Fonte da Vida, de 2006, e A Chegada, de 2016. Por meio de categorias da ontologia fenomenológica – ser-aí; ser-para-a-morte; a relação entre existência, ser e essência; a abertura da questão do devir-no-mundo pelo Outro – é efetuada uma análise comparativa entre similitudes e diferenciações entre as duas obras. O imagético, o discursivo, o representacional e o narrativo formam os parâmetros de recursos analíticos do manuscrito, ao mesmo tempo em que são entremeados por uma revisão bibliográfica sobre as temáticas abordadas pelos dois longas-metragens escolhidos.

RESUMEN El artículo reconstruye la noción cosmológica de mundo y la teoría de los tres movimientos de la existencia en el pensamiento de Patočka. La reconstrucción explicita la unidad esencial entre mundo y existencia. Fundamenta dicha unidad, primero, en los rasgos estructurales comunes tanto al movimiento del mundo como al tercer movimiento que consuma la existencia; y segundo, en que dicha existencia consumada guarda un significado análogo al cósmico de cielo y tierra. Finalmente, señala como problema de la fenomenología patočkiana la ausencia de una ética cosmológica que considere no sólo el movimiento realizador de vida, sino también el des-realizador que el cosmos es.

Una de las causas del renacimiento que la filosofía del ser de Tomás de Aquino ha tenido desde la mitad del siglo pasado es, sin duda, el impacto de los estudios que, sobre esta materia, llevó a cabo el medievalista francés Étienne Gilson. Acuciado por la crítica onto-teológica de M. Heidegger, Gilson y otros tomistas hicieron causa común para clarificar el alcance de la invectiva heideggeriana, la cual juzgaba que la metafísica del ser del Aquinate habría caído también en un esencialismo o cosificación del ser. La propuesta de estos autores se centró en poner de relieve la original noción de ser (actus essendi) frente a intérpretes (algunos de la propia escuela tomista) que habrían oscurecido su significado, fundamentalmente su valor de actualidad suprema. A juicio de Gilson, Fabro y otros, la causa principal de este desenfoque habría sido la identificación de ser y existencia. Mi objetivo en este artículo es analizar críticamente algunas posiciones del tomismo contemporáneo y justificar la imposibilidad de identificar lo que Tomás de Aquino llama esse por existencia.

The Seventh Seal tells two intertwined stories: the religious and existential crisis of an anguished medieval knight returning to his homeland after taking part in one of the last Crusades; and the story of love and hope represented by a family of strolling comedians whose involvement in the circumstances surrounding the last days of the knight's life will contribute to an interesting case of what I have called redemption by love. On the basis of an analysis of different scenes and dialogues from the film, we explore both stories and their mutual implications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
