This paper draws on McGivney's study of adult education for marginal groups, including unemployed young adults. The young unemployed adults in Ghana are growing in numbers; hence engaging them using the community education to foster entrepreneurial mind-sets is a means of addressing the unemployment problem. The formation of learning groups helps foster self-help and enhances the contributions of diverse synergies to community development and transformation. This qualitative case-study used young adults between the ages of 18 to 35 at Chorker, Accra, as the unit of analysis. Judgmental sampling techniques were adopted to sample fourteen (14) participants to participate in the study. They consist of 8 participants for in-depth interview and 6 participants comprising three (3) male and three (3) female formed focus group discussions. Data was analyzed using descriptive narrative and interpretivist approaches. The results indicate that the participants were empowered as they engaged in group learning to acquire skills in trades. The study recommends that young adults are motivated to engage in community education to foster entrepreneurial mind-set, innovate and exploit opportunities to make their communities more vibrant and sustainable. The dynamics of trading in the people's markets is a reflection of the economic growth of a region. Therefore, with the rapid growth of modern markets, it becomes a big challenge for traders in the market. Modern market conditions that have many advantages in terms of facilities and services, make people prefer shopping in the modern market to the people's market. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative through SWOT analysis which is used as the basis for strategy formulation. Therefore, a management strategy is needed to improve the competitiveness of traditional markets, by improving management insight, entrepreneurial mind-set for market managers and sellers, renovating old buildings, increasing the cleaning and security services, as well as creating planning and performance evaluation.

The paper aimed to reveal the factors that affect Small Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMME’s) in the local government within the tourism destination of the coastal city of Durban of KwaZulu Natal province in South Africa. The City of Durban is regional and major economic player and powerhouse within the tourism, hospitality and leisure value chain and has consecutively hosted Africa Tourism Indaba Conferences for the past five years. This study originates from the continued low level of Total Entrepreneurial Activity (TEA) in terms of SMME participation in the economic mainstream. The literature review looked at those concepts that focus on the economic growth environment that inspire entrepreneurial stimulus especially by the institutional intervention from authorities. The paper employed a quantitative methodology approach for its data collection. A questionnaire was constructed and self-administered by participants. The paper targeted a population of 800 SMME’s in the selected municipality located in KwaZulu-Natal. However, a sample of 260 participants was drawn in the population. All data collected were analysed using the SPSS version 24. The result of the study revealed inter alia, a lack of systematic monetary and non-monetary economic growth enablers which contribute to the SMME prosperity. The recommendations point to the pivotal need for policy-makers and the relevant authorities to level the playing field on behalf of the SMMEs from an economic growth perspective.

In this article the researcher is of the opinion that lately many reputed business enterprises are facing entrepreneurial succession' as the most important issue. It has a direct impact on the enterprise performance and sustainability. It is a topic that continues to keep academicians and researchers thinking. In this paper it is studied, whether the entrepreneurial mind-set is a major factor in any business enterprise or not. Purpose – This article aims to discuss the changing role of entrepreneurial education for promoting personal development, learning and employability skills.Design/methodology/approach – The authors review key literature and policy from the EU, in conjunction with recent UK initiatives and organisations that are urging greater action to develop the skills and entrepreneurial mind-set necessary for the graduates of tomorrow.Findings – There is a sense of urgency and change in mainstream higher education (HE) to promote and embed greater entrepreneurial and workplace skills among graduates. Students are expected to demonstrate greater employability skills and signs of the entrepreneurial mind-set that will help organisations innovate and succeed.Originality/value – The article clearly makes the link between the need for personal development, employability skills and attributes of an entrepreneurial mind-set among graduates for the post 2011 workplace.
