Endoscopic colorectal stenting has gained momentum over the last two decades as a viable alternative to surgical intervention in a subgroup of patients with colorectal disease. Stenting can be used as a temporizing bridge to surgical intervention or as a definitive treatment measure. Patient selection and the technical expertise of the endoscopist are of paramount importance to optimize the clinical outcome. Technical skills in therapeutic endoscopy and the choice of proper equipment including the consumables are required for the conduct of a safe and successful procedure. Abstract Background To assess the outcome of previously untreated patients with perihilar cholangiocarcinoma who present to a cancer referral center with or without pre-existing trans-papillary biliary drainage. Methods Consecutive patients with a diagnosis of perihilar cholangiocarcinoma presenting between January 1, 2013, and December 31, 2017, were identified from a prospective surgical database and by a query of the institutional database. Of 237 patients identified, 106 met inclusion criteria and were reviewed. Clinical information was obtained from the Electronic Medical Record and imaging studies were reviewed in the Picture Archiving and Communication System. Results 73 of 106 patients (69%) presenting with a new diagnosis of perihilar cholangiocarcinoma underwent trans-papillary biliary drainage (65 endoscopic and 8 percutaneous) prior to presentation at our institution. 8 of the 73 patients with trans-papillary biliary drainage (11%) presented with and 5 developed cholangitis; all 13 (18%) required subsequent intervention; none of the patients without trans-papillary biliary drainage presented with or required drainage for cholangitis (p = 0.008). Requiring drainage for cholangitis was more likely to delay treatment (p = 0.012) and portended a poorer median overall survival (13.6 months, 95%CI [4.08, not reached)] vs. 20.6 months, 95%CI [18.34, 37.51] p = 0.043). Conclusion Trans-papillary biliary drainage for perihilar cholangiocarcinoma carries a risk of cholangitis and should be avoided when possible. Clinical and imaging findings of perihilar cholangiocarcinoma should prompt evaluation at a cancer referral center before any intervention. This would mitigate development of cholangitis necessitating additional drainage procedures, delaying treatment and potentially compromising survival.

Simple Summary: Acute colonic obstruction is one of the most common manifestations of locally advanced colorectal cancer. Endoscopic stenting has become by far the minimally invasive treatment of choice for malignant colonic obstruction especially in the palliative setting. However, there are still controversies in the literature about the usefulness and safety of endoscopic stenting as a bridge-to-surgery approach or in patients on antiangiogenic therapy. Moreover, endoscopic colonic stenting is an operative procedure that requires adequate pre-interventional management and specific endoscopic knowledge. The present review aimed to summarize the optimization of endoscopic management of patients with malignant acute colonic obstruction based on a multimodal connection with the various medical specialties involved in managing this urgent clinical scenario. Patients presenting with acute colonic obstruction are usually evaluated in the emergency department and multiple specialties are involved in the patients' management. Pre-treatment evaluation is essential in order to establish the correct endoscopic indication for stent implantation. Contrast-enhanced imaging could allow the exclusion of benign causes of colonic obstruction and evaluation of the length of malignant stricture. Endoscopic stenting is the gold standard of treatment for palliative indications whereas there are still concerns about its use as a bridge to surgery. Different meta-analyses showed that stenting as a bridge to surgery improves short-term surgical outcomes but has no role in improving long-term outcomes. Multidisciplinary evaluation is also essential in patients that may be started on or are currently receiving antiangiogenic agents because endoscopic stenting may increase the risk of perforation. Evidence in the literature is weak and based on retrospective data. Here we report on how to correctly evaluate a patient with acute colonic malignant obstruction in collaboration with other essential specialists including a radiologist, surgeon and oncologist, and how to optimize the technique of endoscopic stenting. Colorectal surgery poses significant risks, with anastomotic disruption being a severe complication. Traditional management involves surgical intervention, contributing to postoperative morbidity and mortality. In this brief report, we present a 54-year-old woman with a history of diverticulitis, multiple surgeries, and anastomotic leak following ileorectal anastomosis. Attempts at managing anastomotic leaks with more minimally invasive approaches have been successful in esophageal surgery with the use of covered metallic stents. However, this approach has been rarely attempted for the management of colorectal anastomotic leaks. Instead of conventional surgical approaches, we employed an off-label use of an endoscopic covered metallic stent, WallFlex™, to successfully manage the anastomotic disruption. This article reviews the updates on the use of endoscopic stents for the treatment of postoperative esophageal leakage in terms of indications, types of stents used, efficiency, specific complications and perspectives. Materials and Methods: We searched the PubMed and MEDLINE databases for the keywords postoperative esophageal anastomotic leak and postoperative esophageal anastomotic leak stent, and retrieved relevant papers published until December 2022. Results: The endoscopic discovery of the fistula is usually followed by the insertion of a fully covered esophageal stent. It has an efficiency of more than 60% in closing the fistula, and the failure is related to the delayed application of the method, a situation more suitable for endo vac therapy. The most common complication is migration, but life-threatening complications have also been described. The combination of the advantages of endoscopic stents and vacuum therapy is probably found in the emerging VACstent procedure. Conclusions: Although the competing approaches give promising results, this method has a well-defined place in the treatment of esophageal fistulas, and it is probably necessary to refine the indications for each individual procedure. Simple Summary: In patients with unresectable perihilar cholangiocarcinoma, adequate biliary drainage is essential. Stent patency remains a challenge in these complex patients, as both plastic and metal stent occlusion may occur, necessitating additional drainage procedures. Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a promising local treatment that has already proven its usefulness in other malignancies, such as hepatocellular carcinoma. In this meta-analysis and systematic review, we aimed to compare intraductal RFA with stent placement to stent placement alone in patients with unresectable perihilar cholangiocarcinoma. We found that RFA + stent treatment showed a significantly longer overall survival, in comparison to stent-only treatment. Further research is necessary in order to validate these findings to support the implementation of this promising strategy in clinical practice. Background: One of the cornerstones of palliative treatment for unresectable perihilar cholangiocarcinoma is biliary stent placement in order to restore biliary drainage. In this review, the potential added value of RFA with stent placement in comparison to stent placement alone in patients with unresectable perihilar cholangiocarcinoma is analyzed. Methods: We performed a comprehensive online search for relevant articles in November 2021 (PROSPERO ID: CRD42021288180). The primary endpoint was difference in overall survival. Secondary endpoints included overall survival, stent patency and complications. Only studies comparing survival after RFA + stent placement with stent placement alone were included in the meta-analysis. Non-comparative studies or comparative studies describing stent patency only were included in the systematic review. Results: A total of nine studies, including 217 patients with pCCA who underwent RFA + stent placement and 294 patients who underwent stent-only treatment, met the inclusion criteria for the primary endpoint analysis. Direct comparison between the two treatment groups showed a significantly longer overall survival for RFA + stent treatment, with a pooled HR of 0.65 [95% CI, 0.50–0.84, I2 = 38%]. When all eligible studies were included, RFA + stent treatment revealed an overall survival of 9.5 months [95% CI, 6.3–12.6], whereas survival for stent-only treatment was 7.0 months [95% CI, 5.7–8.2]. Due to the heterogeneity of the data, no pooled data analysis could be performed on stent patency or complications. Conclusions: RFA + stent placement displays promising potential to prolong survival. Background: Despite the low rates of complications of bariatric surgery, gastrointestinal leaks are major adverse events that increase post-operative morbidity and mortality. Endoscopic treatment using self-expanding stents has been used in the therapeutic management of these complications with preliminary good results. Methods: We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of self-expanding stents placement for the management of gastrointestinal leaks after obesity surgery. Overall proportion of successful leak closure, stent migration, and reoperation were analysed as primary outcomes. Secondary outcomes were patients' clinical characteristics, duration and type of stent, other stent complications, and mortality. Results: A meta-analysis of studies reporting stents was performed, including 488 patients. The overall proportion of successful leak closure was 85.89% (95% CI, 82.52–89.25%), median interval between stent placement and its removal of 44 days. Stent migration was noted in 18.65% (95% CI, 14.32–22.98%) and the overall proportion of re-operation was in 13.54% (95% CI, 9.94–17.14%). The agreement between reviewers for the collected data gave a Cohen's κ value of 1.0. No deaths were caused directly by complications with the stent placement. Conclusions: Endoscopic placement of self-expanding stents can be used, in selected patients, for the management of leaks after bariatric surgery with a high rate of effectiveness and low mortality rates. Background: Early data suggests that endoscopic ultrasound-guided gastroenterostomy (EUS-GE) is a safe and efficacious option for gastric outlet obstruction (GOO). However, there is a scarcity of data comparing outcomes with open gastrojejunostomy (OGJ). Methods: Single-center retrospective cohort study of adult patients hospitalized with GOO who underwent EUS-GE or OGJ between January 1, 2014 and February 28, 2020. Primary outcomes were technical and clinical success. Results: Sixty-six patients were included of which 40 (60.0%) underwent EUS-GE and 26 (40.0%) underwent OGJ. Baseline characteristics were similar with respect to age (70.5 vs 69.7, p = 0.81), sex (42.5% vs 42.3% female, p = 0.99), median length of follow-up (98.0 vs 166.5 days, p = 0.8), prior failed intervention for GOO (22.5% vs 26.9%, p = 0.68), and the presence of altered anatomy (12.5% vs 30.8%, p = 0.07) between EUS-GE and OGJ, respectively. Technical success was achieved in 37 (92.5%) of EUS-GE and 26 (100%) of OGJ patients (p = 0.15). EUS-GE was associated with faster resumption of oral intake (1.3 vs 4.7 days, p < 0.001) and shorter length of stay (5 vs 14.5 days, p < 0.001). There were no significant differences in symptom recurrence (17.5% vs 19.2%, HR 1.85, CI 0.52–6.65, p = 0.34), reintervention (20% vs 11.5%, HR 0.82, CI 0.22–3.15, p = 0.78), death within 30 days (12.5% vs 3.8%, HR 0.80, CI 0.09–6.85, p = 0.84), or 30-day readmission (17.5% vs 24.1%, HR 1.69, CI 0.53–5.41, p = 0.37) between EUS-GE and OGJ, respectively. EUS-GE patients initiated chemotherapy sooner (17.7 vs 31.3 days, p = 0.033) and had lower overall costs as compared to OGJ ($49,387 vs $124,192, p < 0.001). Conclusion: There were no significant differences in technical or clinical success, symptom recurrence, reintervention, 30-day readmission, or 30-day mortality between EUS-GE and OGJ. EUS-GE patients experienced shorter delays to resumption of oral intake and chemotherapy, had shorter lengths of stay, and reduced hospital costs. Biliary drainage before pancreaticoduodenectomy was introduced to decrease morbidity from obstructive jaundice. Recent retrospective and randomised data show that preoperative biliary drainage (PBD) increases perioperative infectious complications. Most patients presenting to our tertiary care centre have undergone drainage procedures prior to surgical consultation. We analysed the impact of PBD, specifically endoscopic stent placement, on the postoperative outcome of pancreaticoduodenectomy at our centre. A cohort of 87 patients undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy from 2012 to 2016 was identified. Data was collected retrospectively and a comparative analysis of stented and nonstented patients was done. Comparison of the 23 stented patients was done with 23 nonstented patients after matching them for age, sex and bilirubin levels. Median total bilirubin level in stented patients was 10.2 mg/dl versus 7.7 mg/dl in nonstented patients. The infectious complication rate in the stented group was 39.1% versus 12.7% in the nonstented group (P value < 0.05). There was no difference in the anastomotic leak rate between the two groups. Time to curative surgery in the stented group was significantly more than in the nonstented group. Stented patients are at a higher risk for postoperative infectious complications. Patients with obstructive jaundice awaiting surgery should undergo selective biliary drainage after careful planning and discussion between the operating surgeon and the endoscopist. Boerhaave syndrome (BS) is a rare clinical diagnosis associated with a high morbidity and mortality rate. Diagnosis of this condition is usually delayed which can lead to a very poor outcome. The timing of presentation and time to management plays a very important role in the prognosis and selection of the management method. With the advances seen in therapeutic endoscopy, many authors have been exploring the possibility of shifting the focus of management from surgery to interventional endoscopy. We present a case report of a patient presenting with BS that was successfully managed endoscopically. An oesophageal stricture refers to a narrowing of the oesophageal lumen, which may be benign or malignant. The cardinal feature is dysphagia, and this may result from intrinsic oesophageal disease or extrinsic compression. Oesophageal strictures can be further classified as simple or complex depending on stricture length, location, diameter, and underlying aetiology. Many endoscopic options are now available for treating oesophageal strictures including dilatation, injectional therapy, stenting, stricturotomy, and ablation. Self-expanding metal stents have revolutionised the palliation of malignant dysphagia, but oesophageal dilatation with balloon or bougienage remains first-line therapy for most benign strictures. The increase in endoscopic and surgical interventions on the oesophagus has seen more benign refractory oesophageal strictures that are difficult to treat, and often require advanced endoscopic techniques. Background: Endoscopic techniques can provide an alternative to surgery in the management of post-bariatric surgery complications such as leaks, strictures, fistulas, and erosion of transgastric and adjustable gastric bands. Endoscopically placed stents can also be used to manage gastric perforations secondary to NSAIDS or perforated marginal ulcers following gastric bypass surgery. Additionally, stents can be used in conjunction with operative intervention to decrease the risk of more deleterious complications that could require additional operations. Objectives: The objective of this report is to describe our private practice experience in managing bariatric procedure complications with fully covered endoscopic stents. We present the algorithm we use in the application of endoscopic stents in the management of complications following bariatric surgery. Setting: Private practice, Single provider, Tertiary Referral Center, USA Methods: Data for all patients who underwent endoscopic stent placement for complications after various bariatric surgeries (Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, lap band, and vertical banded gastroplasty) performed by several different surgeons between July 2015 and December 2018 at a single private practice were retrospectively reviewed. Patient's medical history, perioperative information, stent placement details, outcomes, and subsequent interventions were reviewed and analyzed. Results: Thirty-five patients who were treated with endoscopic stents after bariatric surgery were identified. Complications after bariatric surgery treated with stenting included staple line leaks, anastomotic leaks, strictures, marginal ulcer perforations, gastrogastric fistula, and lap band erosion repairs. Mean duration of each stent round also varied. Resolution occurred in 33 patients (94.3%). Stent migration occurred in seven patients (20%) and in eight of 51 stents placed (15.7%). Two patients ultimately required revision surgery, though only one was related to stent (2.9%). Conclusions: Our findings suggest that foregut stents deployed according to our algorithm can facilitate healing of anastomotic leaks, staple line leaks, and marginal ulcer perforations. Furthermore, stent placement can also bolster tenuous repairs of band erosion sites, repairs staple line failure, and manages leaks at band erosion repair sites. Endoscopic stents can also be utilized to augment both balloon and savory dilation of gastric anastomoses and gastric sleeve strictures. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the rates of use and efficacy of stent placement for postoperative leak following bariatric surgery. Summary of Background Data: Endoscopically placed stents can successfully treat anastomotic and staple line leaks after bariatric surgery. However, the extent to which stents are used in the management of bariatric complications and rates of reoperation remain unknown. Methods: Data from the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program participant use files were analyzed for patients who experienced anastomotic or staple line leaks after bariatric surgery, and then evaluated for use of an endoscopically placed stent. Patient and procedure- level data were compared between those who underwent stent placement versus those who required reoperation. Multivariable logistic regression was used to compare outcomes between groups. Results: A total of 354,865 bariatric cases were captured in 2015 to 2016. One thousand one hundred thirty patients (0.3%) required intervention for a leak, of whom 275 (24%) were treated with an endoscopically placed stent. One hundred seven (39%) of the patients who received stents required reoperation as part of their care pathway. Patient characteristics were statistically similar when comparing leaks managed with stents to those treated with reoperation alone. Those treated with stents, however, had a higher likelihood of readmission (odds ratio 2.59, 95% confidence interval -1.59 to 4.20). Conclusion: Placement of stents for management of leaks after bariatric surgery is common throughout the United States. The use of stents can be effective; however, it does not prevent reoperation and is associated with an increased likelihood of readmission. Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) is gaining popularity for the treatment of morbid obesity. It is regarded as a simple, low-cost procedure achieving significant weight loss within a short period of time. LSG is considered a safe procedure with a relatively low complication rate. The complications encountered nevertheless can result in significant morbidity and may even be lethal. The most significant complications are staple-line bleeding, stricture, and staple-line leak. The purpose of this paper is to present a case of a 31-year-old patient complicated by a 3.06 cm staple-line leak 10 days after LSG. Review of the current literature regarding this complication as well as outline of a strategy for the management of large post-LSG gastric leaks is suggested.

Ten years after undergoing sleeve gastrectomy, a 39‐year‐old man developed pancreatitis and, after recovery, presented with severe diarrhea. An image study showed barium contrast passing from the stomach to the colon. Before surgery, initial treatment consisted of parenteral nutrition and antibiotics. The patient then underwent robot‐assisted resection of a gastrocolic fistula and omentoplasty. However, 72 h after surgery, the amount of suction drainage suggested that the fistulous track repair was leaking. Therefore, we decided to perform endoscopy to place a self‐expanding covered stent at the gastroesophageal junction as well as a nasojejunal tube to continue nutritional supplementation. After the patient had fasted for 2 weeks, there was no evidence of leakage in the image studies. The patient was discharged after he had clinically improved, and the stent was removed at the end of 8 weeks. Full-thickness gastrointestinal (GI) defects remain a daunting clinical problem in modern medicine. They vary in size, location in the GI tract, etiology, and chronicity. While traditionally managed with surgical techniques or medical management, technological advancements have created a third management option (therapeutic endoscopy), which often result in definitive defect closure. With the advent of these endoscopic therapies, many centers have moved to endoscopic management as first-line therapy of such defects. Optimal endoscopic management may require multimodal, multisession therapy, which occurs in the setting of a multispecialty management team. This manuscript reviews the use of endoscopic clips (both through-the-scope and over-the-scope), endolumenal stents, endoscopic suturing, endolumenal vacuum devices, and other emerging technologies in the managing of full-thickness GI defects. Introduction: Anastomotic or staple-line leak after foregut surgery presents a formidable management challenge. In recent years, with advancement of endoscopy, self-expanding covered stents have been gaining popularity. In this study, we aimed to determine the safety and effectiveness of self-expanding covered stents in management of leak after foregut surgery.Methods: Consecutive patients who received a fully covered self-expandable metal stent (SEMS) due to an anastomotic leak after upper gastrointestinal surgery between 2009 and 2014 were retrospectively reviewed. Demographic data, stent placement and removal, clinical success, time to resolution, and complications were collected. Predictive factors for clinical success rate were assessed.Results: A total of 20 consecutive patients underwent placement of fully covered SEMS for anastomotic leak, following esophagectomy (n = 5), esophageal diverticulectomy (n = 1), gastric sleeve (n = 4), gastric bypass (n = 3), partial gastrectomy (n = 4), and total gastrectomy (n = 3). All the stents were removed successfully, and clinical resolution was achieved in 18 patients (90 %) after a median of two (range 1-3) procedures and a mean of 6.2 weeks (range 0.4-14). Complications presented in 12 patients (60 %), including stent migration (n = 8), mucosal friability (n = 4), tissue integration (n = 2), and bleeding (n = 2). Two (10 %) patients' treatment was complicated by aorto-esophageal fistula formation resulting in one death. Demographic factors, comorbidities, and type of surgery were not predictive of clinical success rate or time to resolution.Conclusion: SEMS are effective tools for the management of leaks after foregut surgery. The biggest challenge with this approach is stent migration. Caution is warranted due to the risk of fatal complications such as aorto-esophageal fistula formation. No type of surgery or particular patient factor, including age, sex, BMI, albumin, history of radiation, malignancy, and comorbid diabetes or coronary artery disease, appeared to be correlated with success rate. Stenting can be used as a temporizing bridge to surgical intervention or as a definitive treatment measure. Patient selection and the technical expertise of the endoscopist are of paramount importance to optimize the clinical outcome. Technical skills in therapeutic endoscopy and the choice of proper equipment including the consumables are required for the conduct of a safe and successful procedure. Background: The management of anastomotic leakage after either laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (LGBP) or laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) remains a burden. Various options are available for the treatment of these leaks. A newer and less invasive option for the treatment of leaks is the use of endoluminal stents. The main drawback for this treatment is stent migration. The current study describes the outcome of a new, specifically designed stent for the treatment of anastomotic leaks after bariatric surgery. Methods: For this retrospective observational study, the medical charts of patients undergoing bariatric surgery between October 1, 2010 and July 1, 2013 were reviewed. All patients with anastomotic leakage, treated with the bariatric Hanarostent, were included. Results: Twelve patients were included out of a total of 1702 bariatric patients in the described period. Seven had a leakage after LSG, five after LGBP. An average of 2.4 endoscopic procedures and 1.25 stents were used per patient. Successful treatment was seen in nine out of 12 patients (75 %). Most common complication was dislocation or migration of the stent, occurring in eight patients (66.7 %). Conclusions: The ECBB Hanarostent®, which was specifically designed for post bariatric leakages, shows equal but not favorable success rates in this small series compared to previous reports on other types of stenting techniques. Background: Endoscopic stenting has spread as bridge management before pancreatoduedenectomy (PD) to resolve jaundice, but its role is nowadays challenged as it is reported to increase morbidity. Although bile sampling is increasingly performed, its clinical role is unclear. The objective of the study is to assess bile colonization's impact on outcome.Methods: Results of pancreatoduodenectomy after endoscopic stenting are analyzed in 61 high-risk patients presenting bacterial bile colonization. The impact of 11 demographic, clinical, infectious, and laboratory parameters and outcome, including pancreatic leakage, morbidity, and mortality, is analyzed.Results: All stented patients present bacterial bile colonization and PD mortality approaches 10 %. The presence of E. coli in the bile is significantly related to poor outcome, including 23.5 % mortality (p = 0.034), whereas age (≥70 years) and diabetes present borderline results (p < 0.070 and p < 0.066, respectively). E. coli (p = 0.002) and age (p = 0.017) are also related to grade C pancreatic fistula.Conclusions: In high-risk patients undergoing PD, bile colonization inevitably occurs after endoscopic stenting and is a major risk factor of poor outcome, reaching its maximum in the case of E. coli colonization and elderly patients, where the indication to stent and/or to perform PD should be accurately evaluated. Introduction Endometriosis is the growth of endometrium outside the uterine cavity. In 5–15% of cases the disease can affect the colon and small bowel, causing complete obstruction and requiring resection in about 1% of cases. Case summary We describe a case of sigmoid obstruction due to endometriosis in a 38 years old woman with personal history of endometriosis. She was admitted for abdominal pain and constipation. The patient was treated with endoscopic stenting and subsequent laparoscopic sigmoidectomy. Discussion Bowel obstruction caused by endometriosis is a rare event. Its diagnosis can thus be a clinical and radiological challenge but it may be suspected in all young woman with colonic obstruction. At present, the management of endometriosis is an integrate approach of both medical and surgical therapy. In case of irreversible colonic obstruction surgery is mandatory. The treatment of choice is usually an emergency procedure (either Hartmann procedure or resection and anastomosis with stoma placement). This approach entails all the risks related to emergency procedures and can have important psychological and biological drawbacks. Conclusion Endoscopic prosthesis placement as bridge to surgery is a feasible therapeutic strategy in colonic obstruction due to endometriosis. It brings about all the advantages of an expedited one step laparoscopic surgical procedure. Background Sleeve gastrectomy is an effective weight loss procedure that is technically less complex than Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. However, staple line leak (SLL) remains a significant complication of this procedure with reported incidence ranging from 1%–7%. Multiple treatment strategies for SLL are reported including surgical re-exploration, percutaneous drainage, and endoscopic stenting. Our objective was to review the results of our experience with combined laparoendoscopic procedures in managing SLL. Methods A retrospective review of patients with SLL after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) between June 2008 and October 2013 was performed. Patient characteristics, operative details, and postoperative management strategies were reviewed. All patients were managed with a combination of early laparoscopic washout and endoscopic stenting. Results One hundred sixty-five patients underwent LSG with SLL identified in 4 patients (2.4%). One patient was transferred from an outside institution for SLL. Average time to SLL diagnosis was postoperative day 3 (range 1–7). After diagnosis patients underwent laparoscopic washout and initial endoscopic stenting. Three patients required additional endoscopic procedures to manage stent migration, and 2 required additional procedures for peri-stent leak. Complications were managed endoscopically with stent adjustment or replacement. Patients had indwelling stents for an average of 29 days (range 15–56). Mean hospital length of stay was 30 days (range 20–42). Conclusion SLL after LSG can confer a high morbidity and mortality. Endoscopic management of SLL with stenting has been advocated because it successfully manages the leaks and avoids additional invasive procedures. Based on our experience, successful management of SLL can be achieved with an early combined laparoendoscopic approach. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
