The article considers the most important factors in the analysis of the modern range of materials with compressive properties. For the design of compression sports goods, fabric samples were selected and analyzed for hygienic indicators and mechanical properties with the results of experimental tests using standard methods. The characteristics of the analyzed fabrics are expressed in the table, and the YG026T device was used to evaluate the compressive strength of the fabrics. Most materials possess positive Poisson's ratios, meaning they become narrower/thinner in the transverse direction and longer in the loading direction when stretched. On the contrary, some special materials, known as auxetic materials, exhibit negative Poisson's ratios (NPR) and behave contrarily to what is expected. They expand laterally when stretched or shrink laterally when compressed. To date, a variety of auxetic geometry structures and models have been developed at different size levels from molecular to macroscopic. Example structures are re-entrant honeycomb structure, double-arrowhead, star-shaped structure, rotation squares, rotation triangles, and chiral structure. Auxetic materials have a number of enhanced properties because of the NPR effect, including increased shear modulus, indentation resistance, fracture toughness, and energy absorption. Motivated by the novel properties of auxetic material and the gap existing in producing efficient protective guard, this study aimed to developed 3D printed elastic auxetic structures using stereolithography 3D printer for protective gears and then evaluated the influence of different design and printing parameters on the mechanical properties of the structure. In the thesis, elastic resins were selected, and a 3D elastic double-u curve structure was designed based on previous research. The designed structure was produced by stereolithography 3D printing technology with several different printing and design parameters. Tensile and compression tests were then conducted to evaluate samples' mechanical properties including shape deformation, Poisson's ratio, modulus, and energy absorption capacity. The results showed that all samples exhibited expected NPR effect which Poisson's ratios ranged between -0.2 to -1.1. Material's mixture ratio, curing time, and structure's layer (unit cell) number directly affected samples' mechanical properties and NPR effects. Also, it was observed that the compressive behavior of double-u curve structure could be adjusted through modifying printing parameters. The more number of layers, the harder the material, the better the NPR effect, modulus, compressive stress, and energy absorption capacity. Among all cases, the "6-layer, 15s, 3:7" sample exhibited the greatest value of young's modulus, compressive stress, and energy absorption capacity. Additionally, by comparing to the results of auxetic foams in a previous study, it was found that the present structure had better energy absorption capability and NPR effect than auxetic and conventional foam. The present structure exhibited great potential in applications such as protective gears.

Flexible thermoelectric generators (f‐TEGs) have demonstrated great potential in wearable self‐powered health monitoring devices. However, the existing wearable f‐TEGs are neither flexible enough to bend and stretch while maintaining the device's integrity with a good TE performance nor directly compatible with clothes materials. Here, ultraflexible fabric‐based thermoelectric generators (uf‐TEGs) are proposed with conductive cloth electrodes and elastic fabric substrate. The patterned elastic fabric substrate fits the rigid cuboids well, together with serpentine structured cloth electrodes, rendering uf‐TEG with excellent integrity and flexibility, thereby achieving a highly functional TE performance when strain reaches 30% or on arbitrarily shaped heat sources. The uf‐TEGs show a large peak power of 64.10 μW for a temperature difference of 33.24 K with a high voltage output of 111.49 mV, which is superior compared to previously reported fabric‐based TEG devices, and it is still functional after the water immersion test. Besides the energy harvesting function, with both the temperature sensing ability and the touch perception, this uf‐TEG is demonstrated as the electrical skin when mounted on a robot. Moreover, due to the wind‐sensitive performance and self‐power ability, the uf‐TEGs are assembled on cloth as wearable health and motion monitoring devices., An ultraflexible whole‐fabric assisted thermoelectric generator (uf‐TEG) with thermoelectric cuboids, elastic fabric as assembling material, and conductive flexible cloth‐based electrodes is presented here. The uf‐TEG can be applied in different applications such as electrical skin (temperature sensing and touch perception) and human health and motion monitoring (respiration rate, finger gesture, and steps counting).

Tkanje bombažnih tkanin s potencialno elastičnostjo, pridobljeno z vnosom bombažne preje z dodatkom PBT (polibutilen teraftalatne) filamenta, se razlikujejo od bombažnih tkanin z dodatkom elastana, npr. lycre, tako v proizvodnem postopku kot tudi uporabnih lastnostih. Izjemna elastičnost PBT-ja je dosežena s krčenjem pri obdelavi v vroči vodi, kar lahko izvedemo po tkanju. Stopnja elastičnosti tkanine je odvisna od deleža PBT-ja v konstrukciji tkanine in konstrukcijskih lastnostih tkanine. V diplomskem delu so bile raziskane fizikalno mehanske lastnosti šestih vzorcev bombažnih tkanin, ki so vsebovale v votku oplaščeno bombažno prejo s PBT filamentom v jedru. Za primerjavo vpliva PBT komponente so bile raziskane tudi konstrukcijsko enake tkanine brez PBT komponente. Polovica dolžine vzorcev je bila pred izvajanjem meritev obdelana v vreli destilirani vodi 30 minut in nato 24 ur sušena v nevpetem stanju pri tem postopku PBT razvije svoje elastične lastnosti. Vsem vzorcem tkanin, obdelanim in neobdelanim, so bile izmerjene naslednje fizikalno mehanske lastnosti: skrčenje preje in tkanine po obdelavi v vreli vodi, pretržna sila in raztezek prej in tkanin, debelina tkanin, gostota niti, ploščinska masa tkanin, zračna prepustnost ter obstojnost proti pilingu. Analiza rezultatov je pokazala, da so se vsi vzorci s PBT prejo v votku pri obdelavi precej skrčili. Največjo stopnjo krčenja je imel vzorec v vezavi šestvezni votkovni keper, kar je posledica manjšega števila prevezovalnih točk in velikega flotiranja niti. Pogostost prevezovanja niti določa vpetost niti v tkanino in s tem vpliv tornih površin med nitmi na stopnjo krčenja. The weaving of cotton fabrics with potential elasticity, obtained by introducing cotton yarn with the addition of PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) filament, differ from cotton fabrics including elastane, e.g. Lycra, both in the production process as well as in its useful properties. The excellent elasticity of PBT filaments is achieved by shrinkage in a hot water treatment, which can be carried out after weaving. The degree of elasticity of the threated fabric depends on the PBT share in its construction, as well as the structural properties of the fabric. The objective of this diploma was to observe the physical mechanical properties of six samples of cotton fabrics, with core spun cotton yarn with PBT filament as core in the weft direction. In order to compare the effect of the PBT component, we simultaneously studied fabrics with identical structure and without a PBT component. Half of the length of the samples was threated in boiling distilled water for 30 minutes before being dried for 24 hours in a relaxed state, in which the PBT develops its elastic properties. The following physical and mechanical properties were measured on all fabric samples, either treated or untreated: shrinkage of yarn and fabric after treatment, breaking strength and elongation of the yarn and fabrics, fabric thickness, yarn density, mass per surface area, air permeability and abrasion resistance. The obtained results showed that all samples containing PBT filaments in the weft had significantly shrunk during treatment. The largest degree of shrinkage was observed in the six-end weft faced twill in accordance with a smaller number of interlaceing points and floating threads. The frequency of interlacement determines the integration of the yarn into the weave thus influencing the friction surfaces between yarns which dictates the degree of shrinkage.

Thermo-physiological wear comfort is mainly determined by the thermal and moisture performance of clothing. Moreover, moisture is widely recognized as one of the most important factors contributing to discomfort sensations. Functional yarns with a thermo-regulating effect improve thermal and moisture performance of fabrics, but the integration of elastic yarns into the fabric structure can impair thermo-physiological wear comfort. The goal of this research was to compare, in dry and wet states, the thermal comfort properties of elastic knitted fabrics with thermo-regulating yarns, namely Viscose Outlast® and Polyester Coolmax® to better understand thermal behavioral changes due to moisture content of the fabrics. Surface moisture transfer between the fabrics and a wet skin was also assessed and enabled to evaluate the level of the unpleasant contact feeling. Air permeability that is related to the thermal behavior was also investigated. The results obtained showed that at 22% moisture content, which simulates a sweating sensation, the change in thermal properties is similar for both fabrics. Above the ‘sweating sensation’ moisture, significant differences on the thermal properties with the moisture content were registered between fabrics, Outlast® fabric being more prone to thermal properties changes due to moisture uptake than the Coolmax® one. Elastan iplikler, tekstil ürünlerinin elastikiyet ve konfor özelliklerini iyilestirmekabiliyetleri sayesinde geçtigimiz 45 yıl içerisinde büyük bir ilerleme kaydetmislerdir.Elastan iplik içeren kumaslara olan talebin artmasına paralel olarak da elastan ipliküreticilerinin sayısında da önemli bir artıs olmustur. smi dünyaca üne kavusmus elastaniplik firmalarına alternatif olarak üretilen çok sayıdaki elastan iplikler, uygun fiyatolanakları sayesinde örme sektöründe kendine kısa zamanda yer bulmustur.Bu arastırmada; marka faktörünün elastan ipliklerin çekme uzama davranıslarınave örme kumasların yapısal özelliklerine etkisini incelemek amacıyla yapılan iki grupdeneysel çalısma sunulmustur.Çalısmanın ilk asamasında 6 farklı marka elastan ipligin çekme uzamadavranısları çesitli test aletleriyle test edilerek, kopma uzama davranısları, sabit gerilimdegerindeki % uzama davranısları, sabit % uzama degerlerindeki gerilim davranısları vesürtünme özellikleri üzerine elastan iplik markasının etkisini görebilmek amacıyladeneysel bir çalısma yapılmıs ve istatistiksel analiz yöntemiyle karsılastırmayapılmıstır.Çalısmanın ikinci asamasında; ilk asamada çekme uzama davranısları incelenen4 farklı marka elastan iplik kullanılarak, 3 farklı zemin ipligi besleme miktarı ve 3 farklıelastan iplik besleme miktarı uygulanarak, bir sırada sadece pamuk ipligi diger sıradaise pamuk ipligi ve elastan ipligi beraber olacak sekilde 36 adet elastan iplikliRL(süprem) örgü kumas üretilmistir. There has been asignificant increase in elastan yarn producers parallel to the increase of the demand forfabrics containing elastane yarns. Elastane yarns which are produced as an alternativefor the yarns belong to the well-known elastane yarn firms; have found a place inknitting sector because of their suitable prices.In this study, two groups of experimental works have been represented in orderto investigate the effects of the brand factor on stress strain behaviour of elastane yarnsand structural properties of the knitted fabrics.In the first section of the study, the stress strain behaviour of the 6 differentbrand elastane yarns has been tested with different test devices in order to see the effectof brand on breaking elongation % behaviour, elongation % under the constant stress,stress under the constant elongation % and frictional behaviour. And the comparisonshave been made with the statistical methods.In the second section of the study, 36 RL (single jersey) knitted fabrics havebeen produced with 4 different elastane yarns, 3 different base yarn feed ratio and 3different elastane yarn feed ratio. Sample fabrics were knitted with cotton yarn usedalone in one course and with cotton / elastane yarn used in the other course.
