Protected areas (PAs) are effective in mitigating human pressures, yet their future pressure alleviating effects remain unclear. In this study, we employed the ConvLSTM model to forecast the future human footprint and analyzed human pressure trends using Theil–Sen median and Mann–Kendall tests. We further evaluated the mitigating effects of PAs within their buffer zones (1–10 km) and the contributions of different IUCN categories of PAs to mitigating human pressure using linear regression models. The results indicate that by 2035, the average human pressure value is expected to increase by 11%, with trends exhibiting a polarized pattern. Furthermore, PAs also effectively mitigate human pressure within their 1 km buffer zones. Different categories of PAs vary in their effectiveness in mitigating human pressure, and stricter conservation areas are not always the most effective. This study can offer insights for evaluating the effectiveness of PAs in reducing human pressure and advocate for their targeted management in urban areas. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The economic growth and development of the country largely depends on success in the main industries, where mechanical engineering plays a key role. The economies of different countries rely on industrial enterprises that satisfy people’s needs through the production of goods and services. To ensure competitiveness in a dynamically changing market, continuous improvement and development of enterprises is required. In the current conditions, mechanical engineering enterprises increasingly need to adapt to each individual customer, which in turn forces them to rebuild enterprises to the parameters typical for single or small-scale production. The production process is the joint work of tools, equipment and personnel through which products are produced. The complexity of the process of releasing new products is due to the involvement of a large number of departments involved in this process. Order execution is based primarily on the management of production systems. One of the most important processes in enterprise management is the order management process. The purpose of this study is to determine the methods of optimizing the order management process and reducing the influence of the internal cooperation factor on the increase of the period of its implementation at machine-building enterprises. As a methodological basis such general scientific methods as analysis, synthesis, comparison and contrast were used. As the information base, the article analyzes the works of modern authors who consider the issues of order management and such an element of the organizational structure as internal cooperation between departments, their influence on the internal processes of the enterprise and the timing of order execution. The features of the planning process for a single type of production are considered. In the course of the work, the main reasons for the shift in previously determined order completion dates, the most important indicators for order fulfillment, the peculiarities of the planning process at the unit type of production were considered, as well as the most frequently encountered problems during project implementation were identified. In connection with the trend towards changes and development of enterprises, in terms of changes in order management processes for customized products, an increase in the number of created enterprises and an increase in the share of customized products, a conclusion was made about the relevance of studying the order management process in a single type of production at machine-building enterprises. Conclusions are drawn about the need for further study of the issues under consideration. The materials can be used in companies in the real sector of the economy, in administrative structures and in the educational process.

This research aimed to provide a paradigm model of effective social capital management in sports organizations. In terms of the nature of the research, this research is practical, and in terms of the method of implementation of data, it is a qualitative-quantitative (mixed) one. Also, considering the approach, this study is inductive-exploratory. The statistical population of the research was made up of experts in the field of research. The sampling was done purposefully and by snowball method. The data collection tool in this research was a semi-structured interview in the qualitative part. In the first step of the study, 16 people were selected to be interviewed. After the 14th interview, repetition in the received information was visible and reached the stage of theoretical saturation. However, toto ensure the tool's adequacy, two other interviews were also conducted. To determine the validity of interviews, the Lincoln and Guba criterion was used. Also, the tool's reliability was checked by the method of auditing the process and internal agreement. In the second step, the data were analyzed through :open, major and selective coding stages. In three stages of coding, the main categories and components were identified and related to each other, which were the Communication category (individual trust and mutual one), the Cognitive category (norm compliance and sense of security), the Structural category (organizational democracy), and finally Emotional category (empathy and mental health). As the last step of the research, the collected concepts were analyzed in Smart PLS software, and the ultimate model was formed. Paying attention to the presented model can become the basis for managing and developing social capital in sports organizations and taking advantage of its benefits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Supplemental Digital Content is Available in the Text. Objectives: The COVID-19 pandemic's impact on initiation and effectiveness of antiretroviral therapy (ART) in people diagnosed with HIV remains unclear. We evaluated critical delays in HIV care in people diagnosed before and during the pandemic in ex-Aquitaine, France. Methods: We considered adults diagnosed with HIV-1 in 2018–2021 and enrolled in the ANRS CO3 AQUIVIH-NA and followed them until October 10, 2022 for those diagnosed during the pandemic (April 01, 2020–December 31, 2021) and until March 31, 2020 for historical controls. We compared their characteristics at inclusion and the median time between diagnosis and ART initiation, ART initiation and viral suppression, and diagnosis and virologic, suppression (effective management). Results: Eighty-three individuals were diagnosed during the pandemic versus 188 during the prepandemic period. Median follow-up was 549 (interquartile range: 329–713) days. Populations were similar in sex, age, HIV acquisition mode, hospital type, and clinical characteristics at diagnosis; however, fewer were foreign-born during the pandemic (15.7% versus 33.5%, P = 0.003). The probability of ART initiation, therapeutic success, and effective management was higher in people living with HIV (PLWH) diagnosed during the pandemic in adjusted analyses (hazard ratio [HR]: 2.0; 95% CI: 1.5 to 2.7; HR: 1.7; 95% CI: 1.2 to 2.3; HR: 1.8; 95% CI: 1.3 to 2.6, respectively). Those diagnosed during the pandemic were 2.3 (95% CI: 1.2 to 4.1) times more likely to be virologically suppressed within six months of diagnosis compared with historical controls. Conclusions: Pandemic-related reorganizations may have resulted in newly diagnosed PLWH being prioritized; however, the lower proportion of foreign-born PLWH diagnosed during the pandemic period, likely because of reduced migration and potential delays in diagnosis, may contribute to these preliminary findings. Effective management of hospital maintenance units is crucial for the upkeep and repair of medical and general equipment, ensuring uninterrupted, high-quality healthcare services. The National Hospital of Sri Lanka (NHSL), established in the 1970s, relies on a vast array of equipment, making the efficiency of its maintenance unit vital. This study examines strategies to enhance operational efficiency in hospital maintenance units, drawing lessons from NHSL. Objectives included evaluating the efficiency of NHSL’s current maintenance processes, identifying areas for improvement, and developing recommendations for enhancing the unit. A qualitative approach was employed, involving observation visits and semi-structured key informant interviews with administrative and technical officers, ward in-charges, storekeeper, maintenance workers, and public works department workers. Data were coded and analyzed using NVivo software to identify common themes and challenges. Findings revealed several critical issues: persistent delays in repairs and frequent equipment breakdowns, a lack of skilled staff, gaps in technical and supervisory skills, delays in recruitment, poor communication, and lack of recognition for maintenance staff contributions, inadequate technical training opportunities, limited repair and storage space, insufficient sanitary facilities, and delays in spare parts supply. The study underscores the need for strategic improvements in NHSL’s maintenance unit. Key recommendations include conducting training programs, establishing a central maintenance unit, providing new machinery and tools, regular vocational training, improving communication channels, and enhancing sanitary facilities. Addressing these challenges can significantly improve the maintenance unit’s operational efficiency and the overall quality of healthcare services at NHSL. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Motivation: Current economic conditions, including, but not limited to, the rising inflation rate, changes in electricity prices or changes in tax law significantly affect the manner of operation of business entities in Poland. The economic impact of these changes varies greatly depending on the type of business, industry or economic sector represented. These changes are also reflected in the level and structure of the entities' own costs -- primarily in the when considering costs by type. The multitude of changes that Polish companies now face also indicates the importance and relevance of the concept of effective cost management in these difficult economic conditions. Therefore, the need to adapt the business to the peculiarities of the new economic reality created the basis for a thorough identification of cost information needs coming in from the cost accounting systems used in companies. This became one of the prerequisites for undertaking research on evaluating the usefulness of cost accounting systems used in business entities for effective management of their costs. Aim: The purpose of this article is to analyze and assessment the cost effectiveness of selected entities representing production, commercial and service activities in the context of recent changes in economic in Poland. Results: The main conclusion of the analysis is that the current economic conditions have a significant impact on the level and structure of own costs in business entities. Therefore, these entities need specialized economic tools to improve the efficiency of their cost management. It is because the traditional full-cost accounting system used by most business entities in Poland is proving to be inadequate in this regard. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

These days, improving students' learning and work efficiency needs a comprehensive approach to their physical and mental well-being, which emphasizes the critical role of teachers and institutions. To optimize the responsibilities of physical teachers and coaches, efficient administration of physical education, including sports activities, and a strong quality assurance system are required. Based on the above, this paper proposes an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based sports management system to enhance work efficiency and ease of physical education teachers and coaches. It aims to make an in-depth study on the construction of sports performance management and physical analysis system based on data mining; later, it includes the construction of sports management systems. This paper operates in such a way that it first discusses the sports performance management and physical analysis system's construction. Second, it analyses the overall framework structure of the system by presenting a detailed description of the sports test management and test items management. In addition, it analyses sports performance management and sports performance, system management and physical performance and other functional modules contained in the system along with the database design in the system based on C4.5 that is then used as the Decision Tree (DT) Classifier for data mining. Third, it uses sports performance management of DT, and the physical analysis algorithm uses the data information gained to select the split attributes. Fourth, it divides the sports performance training data set into multiple sub-datasets to construct the performance management and physical analysis system based on data mining. Finally, the suggested system is compared with existing approaches and obtains an accuracy of 97%, which is 27% high than the selected approaches. Simulation experiments show that the proposed method has high accuracy in data mining related to sports performance and can effectively improve the efficiency and quality of physical education teachers. The proposed system will be an addition to intelligent task management with high feasibility and accuracy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
BACKGROUND: Diabetes is a silent killer, wherein prolonged poor glucose control could lead to acute diabetic ulcers that are responsible for foot ulcers in the lower body extremities. A diabetic foot is a skin sore formed as a result of skin tissue breaking down and exposing the tissue layers underneath. Chronic conditions of the disease lead to amputation of the limb which is a lifelong disability as well as morbidity. OBJECTIVE: We have compiled an interesting and informative review on diabetic foot ulceration. Topics and subtopics discussed in the article have scientific relevance for the readers of health management journals. MAIN OUTCOME AND RESULTS: The cascade of events that lead to ulceration is responsible for degrading vascular changes in nerve fibers, resulting in poor motor neuropathy in the lower extremities. Therefore, detection of diabetic foot and ulceration in the early stage is crucial for proper disease management. Various tools in this regard have been used to detect and monitor diabetic foot occurrence apart from a conventional assessment such as the severity of the infection, infection of the skin, extent or size of the ulcer, depth of tissue infection, and loss of sensation from various parts of the lower body. Furthermore, recent advancement in medical technology has also given some critical diagnostic tools EMG (Electromyography), NCV (Nerve Conduction Velocity), PPG (Photoplethysmography), and SSEP (Somatosensory Evoked Potential). CONCLUSION: The review discusses various complications related to people with a lived experience of diabetic foot ulcers and some advanced tools to diagnose them. Furthermore, a conclusive discussion on a holistic view of diabetic foot diagnosis methods and available treatments has been summarized which could be more explored for better detection/management of the disease. Global agricultural production cannot catch the increasing population's exigency. At different times, the world has faced food crises of varying intensity. Many steps have been taken after that to encounter the rising concerns. Nowadays, nanofertilizers are being experimented with as an alternative to conventional fertilizers. Nanofertilizers can be classified as macronutrients and micronutrients nanofertilizers. Synthesis of macronutrient nanofertilizers (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, etc.) and micronutrient nanofertilizers (iron, boron, zinc, copper, silicon, etc.) can be done using chemical and green synthesis methods, which involves reducing agents, capping agents, dendrimers, microbial synthesis, solvents, and others. Composition of the nanofertilizers can be done using top-down and bottom-up approaches incorporating hydrocarbon polymer, dendrimers, microbes, etc., which decides their usage in various crops depending upon the requirement of the plant. Engineered nanofertilizers can improve crop yield by mitigating environmental pollution, environmental stress, and plant diseases. However, the unsystematic use of nanofertilizers can be a hurdle in its utilization. This article discusses various types of nanofertilizers with their unique properties and applications. Each category of nanofertilizers is explained considering their composition, particle size, concentrations applied, benefited plant species, and plant-growth enhancement aspects. MEDICAL wastes ,WASTE management ,TEACHING hospitals ,VISITATION in hospitals ,INCINERATION ,PUBLIC hospitals ,HOSPITAL observation units - Abstract
Medical facilities, such as hospitals, clinics, and locations where diagnosis and treatment are administered, create dangerous waste that predisposes individuals to deadly infections. Medical waste management aims to improve health and prevent public health and environmental threats. Questionnaires, interviews, site visitations, and observations were utilized to determine the management strategies implemented in the three hospitals and evaluate the efficacy of waste management. The hospitals under review are Afe Babalola University Multi-system Hospital (AMSH), Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), and Federal Teaching Hospital Ido-Ekiti (FETHI). Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was utilized for the statistical analysis of the questionnaires, and the mean assessment was utilized to compute the waste per bed each day. The results revealed that the three hospitals' sharp, infectious, and pharmaceutical waste is the most sorted. All hospitals burn their medical waste in incinerators but dispose of the ashes in dumpsites. The mean evaluation of all hospitals' medical waste was weighed to establish the overall amount generated. The total amount of medical waste created at AMSH, EKSUTH, and FETHI is 31.5 kg, 53.6 kg, and 135.1 kg, respectively. The medical waste generated per bed per day in AMSH, EKSUTH, and FETHI is 0.61 kg, 0.74 kg, and 0.73 kg, respectively. It was determined that the proper management and disposal of waste is a critical obligation of healthcare facilities. There should be a provision for educating personnel about the consequences of inappropriately disposing of medical waste. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article examines topical issues of formation of economic security of enterprises in the current economic context, which is characterized by a dynamically changing environment and an increase in the number and quality of threats. The implementation of stable activities requires strengthening of measures to ensure the economic security of enterprises in the strategic and tactical horizons to increase the competitiveness. A critical analysis of the exitant approaches to the definition of «economic security» using the system approach is carried out and the following types of approaches are identified: process (or activity); static (security as a state); integral (combining static and activity approaches); system (security as a system). It is proved that, depending on the stage of economic development, available productive forces and production relations, a certain sufficient level of economic security of enterprises, along with its sustainability and competitiveness in selected markets, is formed. Implementing a balanced effective management makes it possible to monitor the impact of negative factors on the enterprise’s activities, to develop preventive measures to eliminate and obviate their impact on economic security, and to ensure manageability of achieving the goals. The carried out study generalizes the characteristics of «economic security of enterprise». Its formation should be divided into short- and long-term perspectives, since economic security is an important component to fully provide the activities of an enterprise and optimize the use of available resources, and is the basis for ensuring future-oriented economic stability

The purpose of the article is to identify the impact of corporate governance on the economic development and growth of the state. The article proposes possible channels for the growth and development of corporate governance: good corporate governance can expand companies' access to external financing, which, in turn, contributes to the attraction of new investments, higher rates of economic growth and the creation of new jobs; good corporate governance can reduce the cost of capital and increase company value, making investment more attractive, leading to further economic growth and increased employment; effective management increases operational efficiency due to better allocation of resources and improvement of management, helps more equal distribution of welfare; effective corporate governance reduces the risk of a financial crisis, which can cause devastating economic and social consequences; effective corporate governance leads to improved relations with all interested parties (stakeholders) and, accordingly, improved labor relations, as well as creating conditions for working on social problems, in particular, issues of environmental protection. The theoretical and methodological basis of the research is represented by the scientific works of leading scientists in the field of corporate governance, as well as the author's interpretation of the impact of corporate governance on the economic development and growth of the state. In the research process, such methods as analysis and synthesis, the method of historical and logical modeling were used. As theoretical methods, the formalization method, the "from abstract to concrete" method, as well as the historical method and the method of economic interpretation are used in the work. From a practical point of view, the method of grouping statistical data, statistical and econometric analysis was also used in the study.
