Introduction: Anxiety is an individual psychological feature of a person, the optimal level of which is adaptive. The quality of life is an integral characteristic of physical, emotional and social functioning of a person, determined by various factors. The research presents data on the insufficiently studied complex "quality of life - anxiety". Material and methods: The article considers the results of a comprehensive study of anxiety and quality of life. The study was conducted within the framework of a scientific project in 180 respondents aged 16-60 years of both sexes. As a tool for assessing the quality of life of the population, we used a short version of the World Health Organization quality of life-BREF we assessed the anxiety of the population according to Spielberg. Statistical processing and data analysis were carried out using the SPSS 22.0 software package, the significance of differences was assessed by Student's t-test, differences were considered significant at p>0.05. Correlation between the level of anxiety and quality of life domains according to World Health Organization quality of life and the assessment of its reliability were determined by the Spearman method and by the Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: An inverse relationship was found for the ratios situational anxiety-mental well-being (r=-0.370, p>0.001) and situational anxiety-environment (r=-0.491, p>0.001). Weak negative relationships were also obtained for the remaining ratios, ranging from r=-0.230 (p=0.002) to r=-0.284 (p<0.001). For the ratio of personal anxiety-physical well-being, the absence of a significant relationship was revealed (r=-0.119 (p=0.110). The presence of a direct relationship between situational and personal anxiety is indicated by the obtained correlation coefficient between these indicators - r=0.610 (p<0.001). Conclusion: The study of correlations between anxiety and quality of life domains indicates the presence of relationships between the indicators, which must be taken into account when developing various preventive measures. VIKOR uses the idea of overall utility maximization and individual regret minimization to afford a compromise result for multi-attribute decision-making problems with conflicting attributes. Many researchers have proposed corresponding improvements and expansions to make it more suitable for sorting optimization in their respective research fields. However, these improvements and extensions only rank the alternatives without classifying them. For this purpose, this text introduces the three-way sequential decisions method and combines it with the VIKOR method to design a three-way VIKOR method that can deal with both ranking and classification. By using the final negative ideal solution (NIS) and the final positive ideal solution (PIS) for all alternatives, the individual regret value and group utility value of each alternative were calculated. Different three-way VIKOR models were obtained by four different combinations of individual regret value and group utility value. In the ranking process, the characteristics of VIKOR method are introduced, and the subjective preference of decision makers is considered by using individual regret, group utility, and decision index values. In the classification process, the corresponding alternatives are divided into the corresponding decision domains by sequential three-way decisions, and the risk of direct acceptance or rejection is avoided by putting the uncertain alternatives into the boundary region to delay the decision. The alternative is divided into decision domains through sequential three-way decisions, sorted according to the collation rules in the same decision domain, and the final sorting results are obtained according to the collation rules in different decision domains. Finally, the effectiveness and correctness of the proposed method are verified by a project investment example, and the results are compared and evaluated. The experimental results show that the proposed method has a significant correlation with the results of other methods, ad is effective and feasible, and is simpler and more effective in dealing with some problems. CaBi2Nb2O9 (CBN) ceramic is a promising sensing element to convert vibration to electrical signal at temperatures higher than 600°C. However, conventionally sintered ceramics suffer from poor piezoelectric coefficient (d33) and low electrical resistivity (ρdc). Here, we report that CBN ceramics can be prepared by microwave sintering (MS) to mitigate volatilization issue of Bi2O3 and thus suppress the generation of oxygen vacancies usually seen in conventional sintering (CS) as demonstrated by X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis and mass‐loss measurement. As compared to the CS, the MS is more favorable for reducing the sintering time, and obtaining a dense, fine, and uniform grain morphology as revealed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) characterizations of both surface and interior of the CBN ceramics, leading to an enhancement of 86% and 75% in d33 and ρdc, respectively. Piezoresponse force microscopy (PFM) as combined with Rayleigh law analysis clearly revealed that the enhancement of piezoelectric properties was attributed to the thinner domains, the higher domain wall density, and the enhanced domain wall motion in the MS‐940 samples. Taking as points of departure modern pragmatic theory and the information-theoretic view of communication offered by Levinson, this paper re-defines the notion of "genre" as a primarily top-down functioning kind of pre-existing, conventionalized package deal in construing meaning. As a consequence, this paper argues for relativizing the role of code (langue), given information in favor of pre-existing pragmatic-functional knowledge in "making meaning". This discussion is focused on law, which is where the issue of whether and how much meaning is "in the text", and what it means to be "in the text" is theoretically and practically paramount. In 2022, CIE recommend the CIECAM16 color appearance model to replace the current CIECAM02 model for color management systems. In this paper we will report on how CIECAM16 was developed, describe the differences between CIECAM16 and CIECAM02, describe the phenomena CIECAM16 can predict, and show the performance of CIECAM16 in the prediction of perceptual color attributes. We will then discuss the numerical determination of the domain and range of the CIECAM16 forward transformation. Finally, the domain and ranges in various conditions are visualized. CIECAM16 is capable of the accurate prediction of color appearance under a wide range of viewing conditions and with the domain and range problems now solved, it can be effectively applied to cross‐media color image reproduction. One of the challenges in planning a digital edition is the selection of the encoding system and representation format that the edition will use to encode musical information. This decision affects the form of the edition not only through the descriptive capabilities of the encoding format, but also through the format's adherence to certain data structures such as tables, trees, and graphs. Far from being straightforward containers, each of these structures possess unique qualities that constrain the encoding process into considering the music within the parameters of that data model. Data that does not fit must be cajoled into the chosen model, with varying degrees of success. Recent work has developed arguments for the use of certain formats in specific cases based on features and interoperability, but a thorough review of the suitability and sustainability of the underlying data structures has yet to be conducted.This paper explores the problem of music representation in data structures from the perspective of musical domain. By encoding the same passages of music in multiple hypothetical formats it demonstrates the musical aspects and, particularly, the relationships that the data structures commonly used in music encoding variously excel at, privilege, or struggle with representing. I argue that encoding projects should consider the constraints that the data structures of a format impose on their encoding; whether there are instances that would be unsatisfactorily modelled, the data biases this creates, and therefore whether it would be advisable to extend the representation format to accommodate another data structure. This text discusses the European system in the modern age, describing the concept of ‘state’ as an object bounded by property rights and its owner’s jurisdiction. In order to maintain the state, it was necessary to keep the inhabitants in a state of submission, through either persuasion or force. State policy consisted in preserving the possessions of the state, improving and increasing it, combining statecraft with the subjects and concert with other state-holders. States were not autonomous units, but domains, and state affairs concerned ways of increasing or maintaining their ownership. When two princes married, they united their states and created a new political and institutional framework, with each spouse taking on the conflicts and alliances of his or her partner, creating entirely new situations. Each peace treaty or alliance was solidly sealed with a dynastic union, as can be seen in the example of the rise of the House of Habsburg, which became the first European power after integrating the inheritances of three great lineages: the Austrian Habsburgs, who contributed fiefdoms and states in Central and Eastern Europe, the House of Burgundy, who contributed states in France and the Low Countries, and the House of Trastámara, who contributed the kingdoms of Castile and Aragon. Domains and domain wall engineering have been extensively explored in ferroic materials for a wide range of applications in nanoelectronics and spintronics. Complex oxides exhibiting strongly correlated properties are model platforms for such studies where response to strain or external stimuli such as electric field, temperature and light can be probed. Here, domains in strained SrMnO3 films, grown on a degenerate semiconductor, allowing for conduction in an out‐of‐plane geometry, are studied using a combination of microscopy probes. Using conductive atomic force microscopy, electrically isolated domains with varying conductance are found and their temporal evolution is investigated. Further, their formation and microstructure are studied using scanning transmission electron microscopy and secondary electron contrast in scanning electron microscopy. An important contribution is establishing that the observed domains are formed by cracks, driven by inhomogeneous strain relaxation throughout the film, resulting in significantly high strain planes. The potential of secondary electrons to detect domain dependent contrast over a large area, ensuing due to the use of a degenerate semiconductor correlates with the conductive properties of the domains and serves as a new direction to probe domains and domain walls in ferroic materials. This meta-analysis investigated whether and to what extent explicit instruction improves statistical learning (SL). While some previous studies individually demonstrated significant effects of explicit instruction on SL, there is a lack of a systematic and quantitative synthesis of this line of work so as to provide specific and detailed guidance for future research. To bridge this gap, a comprehensive meta-analysis was carried out, providing a first careful examination of the effect of explicit instruction on SL. Our analysis revealed a significant improvement in SL performance (g =.49) as a result of explicit instruction. Furthermore, we studied various factors that potentially influence the magnitude of the effect size of explicit instruction on SL. Specifically, we showed that explicit instruction in audiovisual compared to single-modality SL produced a more substantial enhancement in SL performance. In addition, the effect of explicit instruction was more pronounced in the linguistic domain compared to the nonlinguistic domain. These findings not only confirm the positive influence of explicit instruction on SL but also shed light on the specific conditions under which explicit instruction is more beneficial. Our findings have important implications for future educational research on developing effective instructional practices that potentially support SL in classrooms. Educational Impact and Implications Statement: This meta-analysis offers critical insights into the role of explicit instruction in enhancing statistical learning (SL), a cognitive process in which repeated patterns, or regularities, are extracted from the environment. Our findings point to a clear benefit of explicit instruction on SL, with greater effects observed in the multimodal learning context and the linguistic domain. These findings are particularly relevant to educators and policymakers as they underscore the potential of effective teaching methods in improving children's learning of hidden regularities (not obvious or directly observable) in their language and writing systems. Introduction: Physical inactivity (PI) is the fourth leading risk factor for global mortality and is potentially modifiable. Understanding its sociodemographic correlates can contribute in planning preventive measures to reduce the same. Aims and Objectives: 1) To estimate the prevalence of PI among adults aged 20–60 years and 2) to identify the sociodemographic determinants of PI among adults. Material and Methods: A community-based cross-sectional study was done in district Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. 304 adults aged 20–60 years, giving informed consent were selected by simple random sampling. Pregnant women and those with febrile disease and physical defect were excluded. Predesigned structured proforma and Global Physical Activity Questionnaire were used. Chi-square test and logistic regression analysis were applied using IBM SPSS 23.0. Results: Prevalence of PI was 47.7% (95% CI: 42.0–52.6). It was significantly higher in urban (55.3% vs 41.1%) than in rural area and among females than in males (68.7% vs 34.9%). PI during work was 74.3%, during travel 78.9%, and during recreation 88.5%. Being female increased odds of PI by almost ten times (adjusted odds atio (AOR) =9.7, 95% CI: 1.6–58.5). Unskilled workers/laborers and farmers (those involved in active occupational work) were found to have lesser odds of PI (AOR = 0.2, 95% CI: 0.1–0.5 and AOR = 0.2, 95% CI: 0.01–0.6, respectively). Conclusion: PI is highly prevalent among adults. Targeted interventions to increase physical activity in recreational domain are recommended, specially in urban areas and among women. Further studies to explore barriers to physical activity are needed to address this problem.

In this study, we constructed domain D, E and DE truncated mutants of a marine-derived cyclodextrin glucosyltransferase (CGTase) my20 and heterologously expressed these mutants using the pET-24a vector and E. coli BL21 (DE3) as the host, and purified the expressed enzyme by nickel affinity column chromatography. The specific cyclization activities of my20ΔD, my20ΔE, and my20ΔDE were approximately 197%, 22%, and 17% of that of my20, respectively, indicating that domain E is important for the catalytic activity of CGTase, and the presence of domain D might hinder substrate molecules from entering the catalytic domains. my20 was a heat-resistant enzyme, and the three truncated mutants showed different degrees of reduction in heat resistance, suggesting that domains D and E played an important role in the heat resistance of CGTase. The domain DE-deleted mutant showed an 8% increase in the percentage of α-cyclodextrin (CD) in the catalytic product compared with the other truncated mutants, which suggested that the loss of domain DE affected the product specificity. The results of this study provide a theoretical basis for CGTase domain modification for its application in industrial production.

Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis (ABSA) targets sentiments on specific aspects in reviews, offering more granularity than overall sentiment analysis. Challenges in ABSA include handling implicit sentiments, varying expressions, linguistic nuances, and ensuring robust predictions across domains. Addressing these is crucial for extracting meaningful insights from customer reviews and enhancing products or services. Aiming at these concerns, this paper proposes an Enhanced Knowledge Infused Graph-Gated BERT (EKIG-GBERT) model for ABSA in customer-related program reviews. This innovative approach integrates a Dynamic Sentiment-specific Knowledge Graph (DSSKG) and Knowledge graph-enhanced BERT model with Gated Domain Graph Convolutional Network (KG-BERT-GDGCN) to capture intricate sentiment-aspect relationships. The methodology begins with data pre-processing, including tokenization and noise reduction, followed by domain-specific knowledge infusion via DSSKG. The approach leverages KG-BERT for advanced aspect extraction, enhancing the model's capacity to capture subtle emotional nuances in textual data. Aspect extraction is performed at multiple levels like term, category, implicit, entity, and attribute that leverages the KG-BERT model for comprehensive sentiment representation. Additionally, a structured graph seamlessly integrates affective information from DSSKG and KG-BERT, forming an affective adjacency matrix that encapsulates nuanced emotional connections among words in a sentence. The integrated sentiment prediction framework fuses features from DSSKG and KG-BERT using the GDGCN model. Processing through densely connected layers, dropout, and batch normalization ensures effective regularization, resulting in a robust model that leverages information from multiple sources for improved sentiment analysis. Experimental evaluations using four SemEval datasets (i.e., Rest14 task 4, Lap14 task 4, Res15 task 12, Res16 task 5) demonstrate that the EKIG-GBERT model significantly outperforms existing ABSA methods. The EKIG-GBERT model achieved an accuracy of 97.5% on the Rest14 task 4, 98.5% on Lap14 task 4, 94% on Res15 task 12, and 92% on Res16 task 5. Additionally, the confusion matrix analysis further confirmed its superior performance in distinguishing between various sentiment aspects. We have developed new methods for constructing exponential Riesz bases by combining existing ones. These methods involve taking unions of frequency sets and domains respectively, offering easier construction compared to known techniques. Along with examples illustrating our methods, we also provide several examples that highlight the intricate nature of exponential Riesz bases.

Background: The administration of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid supplements is recommended as an adjuvant therapy for adults diagnosed with major depressive disorder. The evaluation of replicated data in combination treatment with omega-3 has been extensively conducted in adults over the past decade. However, the generalizability of these findings to pediatric groups is still uncertain. The objectives of this evaluation were twofold: (1) to evaluate the effectiveness of omega-3 and associated combination therapies in reducing the severity of depressive symptoms, and (2) to include remission rates (i.e., reduction of more than 50% in depression symptoms) as a measure of therapeutic efficacy. Methods: We conducted a literature search on PubMed/EMBASE from inception to October 2023. Data analyses were conducted using Stata (version 17.0). Results: We identified a total of 3168 articles. After eligibility screening of identified studies, nine studies (n = 561 participants) were included in our analysis herein. Pairwise comparisons revealed no significant improvement in depression symptoms for any intervention versus placebo. However, a clustered ranking plot identified omega-3 plus inositol as the most effective treatment for pediatric depression (77.3% efficacy). Omega-3 paired with psychoeducational psychotherapy significantly lowered the remission rate compared to placebo (standardized mean difference = 0.44, 95% confidence interval: 0.00–0.87, p = 0.048), resulting in a 91.5% remission rate, making it the most effective treatment in the study. Conclusions: Taken together, this network meta-analysis presents compelling evidence supporting the antidepressant effects of omega-3 in pediatric groups with depression. Future research should aim to investigate omega-3 as monotherapy for young individuals with depression, as well as investigate the efficacy of omega-3 in comparison to psychosocial interventions for affected individuals. We present a paradigm for access control to typed objects logically connected to form a hierarchy, whereby each object has a single parent, and may have children. Protection domains are divided into three classes. A vertical domain includes authorizations for the objects in a subhierarchy. A horizontal domain includes authorizations for the children of a given object. A simple domain includes an authorization for a single object. We introduce the hierarchical capability concept as a generalization of the classical password capability concept. A hierarchical capability references an entire domain instead of a single object. Objectives: Evaluate patterns of stringent disease control with 2 years of guselkumab across key disease-identified domains and patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in subgroups of patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) defined by baseline characteristics. Method: This post hoc analysis of DISCOVER-2 (Clinicaltrials.gov NCT03158285) evaluated biologic-naïve PsA patients (≥ 5 swollen/ ≥ 5 tender joints, C-reactive protein [CRP] ≥ 0.6 mg/dL) randomized to guselkumab every 4 weeks (Q4W); guselkumab at Weeks 0 and 4, then Q8W; or placebo with crossover to guselkumab Q4W at Week 24. Achievement of American College of Rheumatology 50/70% improvement (ACR50/70), Investigator's Global Assessment (IGA) 0, dactylitis/enthesitis resolution, Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy (FACIT)-Fatigue response (≥ 4-point improvement), HAQ-Disability Index (HAQ-DI) response (≥ 0.35-point improvement), PsA Disease Activity Score (PASDAS) low disease activity (LDA), and minimal disease activity (MDA) was assessed at Weeks 24, 52, and 100 in subgroups defined by sex and baseline medication use, body mass index, PsA duration, swollen/tender joints, CRP, and psoriasis severity/extent. Patients with missing categorical response data were considered nonresponders. Results: 442/493 (90%) guselkumab-randomized patients completed treatment through Week 100. Significant multi-domain efficacy of guselkumab versus placebo was shown across adequately sized patient subgroups. A pattern of continuous improvement was observed across key PsA domains and PROs within patient subgroups: 65%–85% of guselkumab-randomized patients had enthesitis/dactylitis resolution, 50%–70% achieved complete skin clearance, 60%–80% reported meaningful improvements in function/fatigue, 40%–65% achieved PASDAS LDA, and 35%–50% achieved MDA at Week 100. Conclusion: Patients with active PsA receiving guselkumab demonstrated durable achievement of stringent endpoints associated with disease control across key PsA domains and PROs, regardless of baseline characteristics. Malay is the national and official language of the country, while English is the language of wider communication. In addition, Mandarin and Tamil are also taught in the school as the medium of instruction. The diversity of languages in Malaysia has raised questions about people's attitudes towards the Malay language, especially non-Malays. This paper aims to investigate the use of the national language in Greater KL Kuala Lumpur was chosen as the study area because it is a cultural, economic, social, and political center that reflects the diversity of Malaysia. A total of 493 respondents were selected as the sample. The questionnaire consisted of demographics, language use of Malay in different domains. The use of language was measured based on four domains: family and friendship, media, occupation, and education. The results showed that the Malays have positive attitudes towards the Malay language in all domains, while the non-Malays (Chinese and Indian) showed a negative attitude in the domain of media and family. The study also found that highly educated respondents showed a positive attitude towards the Malay language than the non-educated. The different attitudes between Malays and non-Malays towards the Malay language are influenced by the education system. The majority of the Malays are educated in national schools that use Malay as the medium of instruction, while the Chinese and Indians are mixed due to their education in vernacular schools and national schools. Interactions between proteins and small organic compounds play a crucial role in regulating protein functions. These interactions can modulate various aspects of protein behavior, including enzymatic activity, signaling cascades, and structural stability. By binding to specific sites on proteins, small organic compounds can induce conformational changes, alter protein–protein interactions, or directly affect catalytic activity. Therefore, many drugs available on the market today are small molecules (72% of all approved drugs in the last 5 years). Proteins are composed of one or more domains: evolutionary units that convey function or fitness either singly or in concert with others. Understanding which domain(s) of the target protein binds to a drug can lead to additional opportunities for discovering novel targets. The evolutionary classification of protein domains (ECOD) classifies domains into an evolutionary hierarchy that focuses on distant homology. Previously, no structure‐based protein domain classification existed that included information about both the interaction between small molecules or drugs and the structural domains of a target protein. This data is especially important for multidomain proteins and large complexes. Here, we present the DrugDomain database that reports the interaction between ECOD of human target proteins and DrugBank molecules and drugs. The pilot version of DrugDomain describes the interaction of 5160 DrugBank molecules associated with 2573 human proteins. It describes domains for all experimentally determined structures of these proteins and incorporates AlphaFold models when such structures are unavailable. This article, based on network science, aims to contribute to overcoming its geometric and technological phases. The novelty consists in considering links of networks as linked by superimposed networks, termed here multiple superimposed soft networks (MSSN), which is introduced as a research issue. Such links of links (termed here as passive links) concern, for instance, correspondences, incompatibilities, and temporal synchronizations between the occurrences of pairs of active links of effective networks, such as those based on electrical and telecommunication. A possible constitutive mechanism of such passive linkage consists of linkage representations for practices and histories of use expressed by their validating statistical reoccurrences. We consider the possible emergent nature of the passive linkage. The reason for introducing the design and usage of MSSN properties as a research issue involves making new approaches to profile and manage networks available. Correspondence between active linkage and MSSN properties should be a matter for an experiential, machine-learning approach. Research issues relate their possible usage on the active linkage such as for classification, comparations, detection of criticalities, diagnosis, performance evaluation, and regulatory as weak forces. Furthermore, the possible identification of standard corresponding configurations of passive and active linkage is finalized to avoid their establishment or, conversely, in facilitating their establishment and keeping their replication in different contexts (or partially and in combinations) and identifying related standardized approaches (also for classes of configurations having significant levels of equivalence). The KRAS mutation stands out as one of the most influential oncogenic mutations, which directly regulates the hallmark features of cancer and interacts with other cancer-causing driver mutations. However, there remains a lack of precise information on their cooccurrence with mutated variants of KRAS and any correlations between KRAS and other driver mutations. To enquire about this issue, we delved into cBioPortal, TCGA, UALCAN, and Uniport studies. We aimed to unravel the complexity of KRAS and its relationships with other driver mutations. We noticed that G12D and G12V are the prevalent mutated variants of KRAS and coexist with the TP53 mutation in PAAD and CRAD, while G12C and G12V coexist with LUAD. We also noticed similar observations in the case of PIK3CA and APC mutations in CRAD. At the transcript level, a positive correlation exists between KRAS and PIK3CA and between APC and KRAS in CRAD. The existence of the co-mutation of KRAS and other driver mutations could influence the signaling pathway in the neoplastic transformation. This paper reflects on interjections in English. An interjection is a word or phrase that is used to express strong emotions, often suddenly, like oops when a small mistake happens, as in Oops! I typed two Ls by mistake. To provide a new picture of interjections, it embeds the analysis in Cognitive Grammar. In this regard, it attempts to verify three claims of Cognitive Grammar. One claim describes a linguistic expression as a cluster of distinct but related senses. In light of this claim, the paper argues that an interjection forms a category of numerous senses organized around a central one. Another claim characterizes the meanings of linguistic expressions with respect to the fields to which they belong. In virtue of this claim, the paper argues that interjections form domains in which they stand for a general concept but differ in specifics. A further claim ascribes the use of a linguistic expression to the particular construal imposed on its content. Given this claim, the paper argues that the use of an interjection results from the particular perspective in which the speaker takes on a situation. The aim is to highlight the extra touch of meaning that interjections flavor the utterances in which they occur. The gist is that interjections are purposeful choices for expressing sentiments. The research was on the Pidginization and student's language performance in the College of Education, Akamkpa, Cross River State Nigeria in particular, but recordings of student's conversations in three other Colleges of Education in the South-South Zone were collected to ascertain the common language used in those Colleges. A hundred students' in College of Education Akamkpa were randomly chosen from the population of NCE 1, II and III for the study. A questionnaire was drafted and distributed to illicit their responses. The qualitative responses were analyzed using the simple percentages to draw up the values. Fishman's theory of domain was also tested to determine the validity and the correlation between the frequent use of Pidgin and academic performance. It was found that the use of Pidgin frequently in schools was an obstacle to good academic performance. It also showed that the frequent use of Pidgin affected the student's proper use of Standard English. It was recommended that parents should be involved in the development process of their wards by discouraging the use of Pidgin at homes and that the Management of Schools should place notices on boards at strategic places to remind the students of the need to use standard English around the school environment. Proteins with domains of unknown function (DUF) play an essential role in the growth of plants. However, we conducted a study on the genome-wide identification of DUF789 genes and the functional evolution of different members of the DUF789 gene family in the Arabidopsis thaliana genome. A total of 11 AtDUF789s were discovered in the A. thaliana genome, and a phylogenetic tree was constructed using sequences from A. thaliana, G. max, Vitis vinifera, Solanum tuberosum, Medicago truncatula, and Sorghum bicolor. Gene structure analysis showed that the number of non-coding regions varied between 4 and 5, while the coding pattern ranged from 5 to 6. The promoter of AtDUF789s contains the cis-regulatory elements ABRE, MBS, and LTR, specifically. By analyzing the expression of the 11 AtDUF789s in tissues, we observed that these AtDUF789s were up-regulated in all observed tissues, which may indicate their involvement in plant growth. The study of the DUF789 gene family in A. thaliana provides new and valuable data for plant breeding and molecular studies.

The present study is an analysis of the metaphorical conceptualization of happiness based on conceptual metaphor theory and a qualitative research methodology. It described the metaphorical linguistic expressions used to determine the conceptual structure and organization of the emotional concept of happiness in Wolaita. Our findings show that the domains of fluid, heat, light, insanity, opponent, food, natural force, moveable object, and musical instrument conceptualize happiness in Wolaita. Its resulting conceptual metaphors are HAPPINESS IS FLUID IN A CONTAINER, HAPPINESS IS HEAT, HAPPINESS IS LIGHT, HAPPINESS IS OPPONENT, HAPPINESS IS MOVABLE OBJECT, HAPPINESS IS INSANITY, HAPPINESS IS FOOD, and HAPPINESS IS A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT that offer valuable insights into its universal and idiosyncratic conceptualization.

Abstract Background E2F/DP (Eukaryotic 2 transcription factor/dimerization partner) family proteins play an essential function in the cell cycle development of higher organisms. E2F/DP family genes have been reported only in a few plant species. However, comprehensive genome-wide characterization analysis of the E2F/DP gene family of Solanum lycopersicum has not been reported so far. Results This study identified eight nonredundant SlE2F/DP genes that were classified into seven groups in the phylogenetic analysis. All eight genes had a single E2F-TDP domain and few genes had additional domains. Two segmental duplication gene pairs were observed within tomato, in addition to cis-regulatory elements, miRNA target sites and phosphorylation sites which play an important role in plant development and stress response in tomato. To explore the three-dimensional (3D) models and gene ontology (GO) annotations of SlE2F/DP proteins, we pointed to their putative transporter activity and their interaction with several putative ligands. The localization of SlE2F/DP-GFP fused proteins in the nucleus and endoplasmic reticulum suggested that they may act in other biological functions. Expression studies revealed the differential expression pattern of most of the SlE2F/DP genes in various organs. Moreover, the expression of E2F/DP genes against abiotic stress, particularly SlE2F/DP2 and/or SlE2F/DP7, was upregulated in response to heat, salt, cold and ABA treatment. Furthermore, the co-expression analysis of SlE2F/DP genes with multiple metabolic pathways was co-expressed with defence genes, transcription factors and so on, suggested their crucial role in various biological processes. Conclusions Overall, our findings provide a way to understand the structure and function of SlE2F/DP genes; it might be helpful to improve fruit development and tolerance against abiotic stress through marker-assisted selection or transgenic approaches.

Abstract: This paper describes and analyzes phonological processes pertinent to the glottal stop in A’ingae (or Cofán, iso 639-3: ). The operations which the glottal stops undergo and trigger reveal an interaction of two morphophonological parameters: stratum and stress dominance. First, verbal suffixes are organized in two morphophonological domains, or strata. Within the inner domain, glottal stops affect stress placement, which I analyze as an interaction with foot structure. In the outer domain, glottal stops do not have any effects on stress. Second, some verbal suffixes delete stress (i. e. they are dominant). Dominance is unpredictable and independent of the suffix’s morphophonological domain, but dominance and the phonological domain interact in a non-trivial way: only inner dominant suffixes delete glottalization. To account for the A’ingae data, I adopt Cophonologies by Phase (Sande et al. 2020), which (i) models phonological stratification while (ii) allowing for morpheme-specific phonological idiosyncrasies, which (iii) interact with the phonological grammar of their stratum. Stress deletion triggered by the dominant suffixes is modeled with AntiFaithfulness (Alderete 1999, 2001). Antifaithfulness to a metrical foot entails antifaithfulness to its features (glottalization). This captures the fact that only the inner dominant suffixes delete glottal stops.

Objective: Although main components of the venoms from Viperidae snakes are hemotoxins, several studies indicate the presence of neurotoxins in these venoms. We previously found that the venom of pit viper Gloydius saxatilis inhibited the muscle-type nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR). The objective of present work is to isolate and characterize a neurotoxic protein from this venom. Methods: The protein was isolated by liquid chromatography and characterized using high resolution mass-spectrometry. Results and Discussion: The isolated protein called glosaxin inhibited the binding of the α-bungarotoxin to the nAChR of muscle type from Torpedo californica. Investigation of the amino acid sequence of the isolated protein by high resolution mass spectrometry and the subsequent bioinformatic analysis showed that it is homologous to the amino acid sequences of disintegrin-like proteins, consisting of non-catalytic domains of class PIII metalloproteinases from the venom of pit vipers of genus Gloydius. Glosaxin was shown to inhibit the binding of α-bungarotoxin to T. californica nAChR with IC50 = 51 μM. It also inhibited ACh-induced functional responses of the human neuronal nAChR of α3β2 subtype. Conclusions: This is the first evidence for the ability of proteins consisting of non-catalytic domains of snake venom class PIII metalloproteinase to inhibit the nAChR. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The current investigation endeavors to identify differentially expressed alternatively spliced (DAS) genes that exhibit concordant expression with splicing factors (SFs) under diverse multifactorial abiotic stress combinations in Arabidopsis seedlings. SFs serve as the post-transcriptional mechanism governing the spatiotemporal dynamics of gene expression. The different stresses encompass variations in salt concentration, heat, intensive light, and their combinations. Clusters demonstrating consistent expression profiles were surveyed to pinpoint DAS/SF gene pairs exhibiting concordant expression. Through rigorous selection criteria, which incorporate alignment with documented gene functionalities and expression patterns observed in this study, four members of the serine/arginine-rich (SR) gene family were delineated as SFs concordantly expressed with six DAS genes. These regulated SF genes encompass cactin, SR1-like, SR30, and SC35-like. The identified concordantly expressed DAS genes encode diverse proteins such as the 26.5 kDa heat shock protein, chaperone protein DnaJ, potassium channel GORK, calcium-binding EF hand family protein, DEAD-box RNA helicase, and 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate synthase 6. Among the concordantly expressed DAS/SF gene pairs, SR30/DEAD-box RNA helicase, and SC35-like/1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate synthase 6 emerge as promising candidates, necessitating further examinations to ascertain whether these SFs orchestrate splicing of the respective DAS genes. This study contributes to a deeper comprehension of the varied responses of the splicing machinery to abiotic stresses. Leveraging these DAS/SF associations shows promise for elucidating avenues for augmenting breeding programs aimed at fortifying cultivated plants against heat and intensive light stresses. Background: In Japan, Alzheimer's disease dementia (AD) is the most common cognitive disease, and the most widely used dementia screening tests are the Revised Hasegawa Dementia Scale (HDS‐R) and Mini‐Mental State Examination (MMSE). This study sought to elucidate the relationships of the individual domains of these tests with age and duration of school education in a large group of patients with AD. Methods: Participants were 505 new outpatients diagnosed with AD who completed the HDS‐R and MMSE at the first visit. We investigated the relationships of total and individual domains of these tests with age and duration of school education using the least squares method. Next, we plotted regression lines of the individual domain scores against the total test scores. Results: Younger age and longer duration of school education were significantly associated with higher total HDS‐R and MMSE scores in AD. Domain‐specific results indicated that younger age was significantly associated with a higher immediate memory score on both the HDS‐R and MMSE and with a higher orientation (time), repetition score on the MMSE. Longer duration of school education was significantly associated with a higher working memory score on the HDS‐R and with higher serial 7, repetition and writing scores on the MMSE. In addition, shorter duration of school education was significantly associated with higher naming score on the MMSE. The regression lines of orientation of time, remote memory, visual memory, and verbal frequency hit the bottom on the HDS‐R (4/30, 8/30, 4/30, and 6/30, respectively) and of orientation of time, serial 7, remote memory, and writing also hit the bottom on the MMSE (8/30, 9/30, 11/30, and 8/30, respectively). Conclusions: We should pay attention to age, duration of school education, and the individual domains when using the HDS‐R or MMSE to assess patients with AD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The main factors that limit the practical application of bismuth ferrite-based energy storage ceramics are their low breakdown electric field strength and large remnant polarization. Here, we achieve high energy storage behavior in (0.72-x)BiFeO 3 -0.28BaTiO 3 -xLa(Mg 1/2 Zr 1/2)O 3 (BF-BT-xLMZ) ferroelectric ceramics through directional defect modulation based on a transformation of the conductance mechanisms. The systematic experimental analysis coupled with the vacancy sink model suggests that the introduction of LMZ changes the trap-filled-limit conduction mode dominated by oxygen vacancy, leading to 4 times enhancement of the breakdown electric field in BF-BT-0.2LMZ. Meanwhile, the induced nanodomains create a size effect that effectively reduces the remnant polarization, resulting in an increase in efficiency by 3.5 times. As a result, the recoverable energy storage density of the ceramic reaches an outstanding 4.2 J/cm3, together with a high efficiency of 75.2%. The article examines the features of the component structure and internal relationships in the English-language framework TRADE. According to M. Minsky, we understand the frame as a structure that represents stereotyped knowledge and expectations that allow the system to ensure internal consistency. In linguistics, this manifests itself in the fact that the meaning of a single word requires access to all the basic knowledge associated with that word. For example, understanding the word sell requires knowledge of the commercial transfer situation, which includes the seller, buyer, goods, money, and their relationships. In this sense, it is the perspective that is important: from the buyer's point of view, the trading process is a purchase, while from the seller's point of view, it is a sale. The article analyzes the possibilities of applying different perspectives to reveal the internal structure of the TRADE frame and the relational arcs between its components. The formation of the frame occurs due to the combination of propositions that determine the relationship between its components. A proposition as a basic structure of knowledge representation has a logical subject (the target concept) and a logical predicate (a feature attributed to the subject). The construction of propositions within the frame is carried out through the functioning of the basic propositional frames, which enable the coherence of its cognitive content. Receptor-like kinases (RLKs) are the most numerous signal transduction components in plants and play important roles in determining how different plants adapt to their ecological environments. Research on RLKs has focused mainly on a small number of typical RLK members in a few model plants. There is an urgent need to study the composition, distribution, and evolution of RLKs at the holistic level to increase our understanding of how RLKs assist in the ecological adaptations of different plant species. In this study, we collected the genome assemblies of 528 plant species and constructed an RLK dataset. Using this dataset, we identified and characterized 524 948 RLK family members. Each member underwent systematic topological classification and was assigned a gene ID based on a unified nomenclature system. Furthermore, we identified two novel extracellular domains in some RLKs, designated Xiao and Xiang. Evolutionary analysis of the RLK family revealed that the RLCK-XVII and RLCK-XII-2 classes were present exclusively in dicots, suggesting that diversification of RLKs between monocots and dicots may have led to differences in downstream cytoplasmic responses. We also used an interaction proteome to help empower data mining for inference of new RLK functions from a global perspective, with the ultimate goal of understanding how RLKs shape the adaptation of different plants to the environments/ecosystems. The assembled RLK dataset, together with annotations and analytical tools, forms an integrated foundation of multiomics data that is publicly accessible via the metaRLK web portal (http://metaRLK.biocloud.top). This study reports the curation, nomenclature, and topological classification of receptor-like kinases (RLKs) from 528 plant species. Two novel extracellular domains of RLKs are identified, and a user-friendly web portal, metaRLK, is constructed to provide comprehensive information on the diverse landscape of RLKs and their potential roles. Background: Information on the association between physical activity (PA) and the risk of chronic kidney disease (CKD) is limited. We aimed to explore the associations of total, domain-specific, and intensity-specific PA with CKD and its subtypes in China. Methods: The study included 475,376 adults from the China Kadoorie Biobank aged 30–79 years during 2004–2008 at baseline. An interviewer-administered questionnaire was used to collect the information about PA, which was quantified as metabolic equivalent of task hours per day (MET-h/day) and categorized into 4 groups based on quartiles. Cox regression was used to analyze the association between PA and CKD risk. Results: During a median follow-up of 12.1 years, 5415 incident CKD cases were documented, including 1159 incident diabetic kidney disease (DKD) cases and 362 incident hypertensive nephropathy (HTN) cases. Total PA was inversely associated with CKD risk, with an adjusted hazard ratio (HR, 95% confidence interval (95%CI)) of 0.83 (0.75–0.92) for incident CKD in the highest quartile of total PA as compared with participants in the lowest quartile. Similar results were observed for risk of DKD and HTN, and the corresponding HRs (95%CIs) were 0.75 (0.58–0.97) for DKD risk and 0.56 (0.37–0.85) for HTN risk. Increased nonoccupational PA, low-intensity PA, and moderate-to-vigorous-intensity PA were significantly associated with a decreased risk of CKD, with HRs (95%CIs) of 0.80 (0.73–0.88), 0.85 (0.77–0.94), and 0.85 (0.76–0.95) in the highest quartile, respectively. Conclusion: PA, including nonoccupational PA, low-intensity PA, and moderate-to-vigorous-intensity PA, was inversely associated with the risk of CKD, including DKD, HTN, and other CKD, and such associations were dose dependent.

Objective To generate a Korean version of the Oxford Cognitive Screen (K-OCS) and obtain cutoff scores that determine the impairment of each subdomain. Post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) negatively impacts the rehabilitation process and independence in daily life. Its obscure manifestations require effective screening for appropriate rehabilitation. However, in most rehabilitation clinics, psychological evaluation tools for Alzheimer’s dementia have been used without such considerations. The OCS is a screening assessment tool for PSCI and vascular dementia that can evaluate the cognitive domains most often affected by stroke, including language, attention, memory, praxis, and numerical cognition. It comprises 10 subtasks and enables quick and effective cognitive evaluation. Methods The K-OCS, which considers Korea’s unique cultural and linguistic characteristics, was developed with the approval and cooperation of the original author. Enrollment of participants without disabilities was announced at Duksung Women’s University, Yongin Sevrance Hospital, CHA Bundang Medical Center. The study was conducted between September 2020 and March 2022 on 97 male and female participants aged ≥30 years. Results All the 97 participants completed the task. In this study, the 5th percentile score was presumed to be the cutoff value for each score, and the values are provided here. The cutoff score for each OCS subtask was similar to that of the original British version. Conclusion We suggest the usability of the K-OCS as a screening tool for PSCI by providing the cutoff value of each subtask.

The Internet opens the market, expands its geography and increases the competition of goods, does not set any restrictions except for access to the network. The article is devoted to the analysis of features of accounting and taxation system in modern Internet business. The impact of digital transformation on accounting and taxation is considered, taking into account the dynamic nature of this sector of the economy. An overview of the current challenges of Internet business in the context of accounting, including the issues of taxation of e-commerce and activities in the online environment, is proposed. In the article, trade in the field of e-business is considered as an object of accounting. An algorithm for conducting trade on the Internet and accounting for settlements with buyers, determining income and financial result is provided. Modern methods of payment for goods are outlined. The methods of reflection in the cost structure of operations related to the creation of a website, the use of a domain and the receipt of hosting services are analyzed. It is proposed to include in the initial cost of intangible assets the costs of website development and domain prolongation, and to reflect the hosting operation as part of sales costs. The rules for the use of cash registers in conducting business transactions in e-commerce, as well as individual cases in which it is not necessary to use cash registers in online stores, are considered. The problematic aspects of normative regulation and accounting of transactions related to e-commerce are highlighted. Recommendations have been developed that can improve taxation in the field of e-commerce – they provide for the improvement of tax administration for entities engaged in e-business.
