Zhruba polovina obyvatel obce o 446 obyvatelích je organizována celkem v pěti spolcích, kde největší význam pro bezpečnost, tak i rozvoj má sbor dobrovolných hasičů Mladějov na Moravě., This bachelor thesis is a descriptive and at the same time exploratory, one-case and non-comparative case study that answers the research question: "How important is the volunteer fire brigade for safety and development in the village of Mladejov na Morave?"

Volunteering is an integral part of human life. Volunteering can be understood as a meaningful activity that helps the needy, is held of free will and without the right to financial reward. The social field is one of the most needed areas in which volunteers can work. This bachelor thesis deals with the activities of volunteers in retirement homes during the COVID-19 pandemic. The main goal is to analyze the performance of volunteering in retirement homes during the COVID-19 pandemic. A partial goal is a subsequent comparison of the experience of individual homes for the elderly with volunteering during a pandemic and to provide examples of good practice. The strategy of qualitative research was chosen for the research of this bachelor thesis. The data were collected by the method of questioning, which took place using the technique of semi-controlled interview. It was then evaluated by an open coding process, in a pencil-paper manner. Following the open coding process, categories were created, which were then divided into three areas. For greater clarity, a diagram was created from each category, which presents the given category. Based on the research, it was found that the classic volunteer activity, thanks to the Government regulation in the Czech Republic and special precantions of the Ministry of Health, did not take place at all. Only in the periods of liberalization of the previously mentioned regulations and precantions, which, however, were few, did some homes for the elderly return to classic volunteer activities. On the contrary, it is clear from the research that even during the COVID-19 pandemic, volunteers were actively involved and were beneficial for users and homes for the elderly.

The family is the basic unit of society and the most important primary group in the socialization of the individual. If a child with an autism spectrum disorder is born into a family, it is a big shock for its members. There are a number of social services for these families that can help them with this difficult fate. The question is whether the child does not need a different form of attention than the one he/she receives from organizations providing these services. The volunteer could be an excellent helper in these families and an indispensable friend for the child. The aim of my bachelor thesis is to describe the role of a volunteer working in a family caring for a child with autism spectrum disorder as a supplement to social work with the family. To achieve the goal, the method of qualitative research and a form of questioning through a semi-structured interview was chosen, and the results were interpreted using the method of clusters. Based on the research, it is clear that the volunteer becomes an important support for the whole family and, above all, a much-needed friend of a child with an autism spectrum disorder. Its benefit lies not only in the child's development through play, but it is also a significant support for the child's parents. The research also reveals the risks of cooperation between a volunteer and a family caring for a child with an autism spectrum disorder. These are the volunteers' imperfect communication skills and parents' concerns about the insufficient training of these volunteers in the field of autism spectrum disorders. But all this is perfectly replaced by his/her indispensable help in the family. The bachelor thesis can serve as an information source for families with children suffering from autism spectrum disorder about the possibility of volunteer help. At the same time, this paper can strengthen the motivation of volunteers to volunteer in these families.

The paper discusses the topic of volunteering. A key role in managing volunteer work is to stimulate them to support internal motivation. The management of volunteers needs to know volunteers needs for better setting of communications and conditions of the cooperation. This paper assesses the hypothesis: “People who would like to be a volunteer have different motivation structure than people who would not like to be”. The aim is supported by focusing on the motivation of volunteers who can not be stimulated by financial value. The nature volunteering causes the change in the hierarchy of volunteers needs in their projects. The paper is based on qualitative research as a questionnaire survey. The hypothesis that our concentrated groups have a different focus in the hierarchy of needs could be confirm, but it is necessary note that different sizes of respondent groups and factors (age, personal experiences, innate assumptions, personal types etc.) could lead to different results.

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of volunteering. The aim of this work is the analysis of volunteering in the České Budějovice region. To fulfill this goal is introduced the basic theoretical background and description of the current state of volunteering in the Czech Republic. In the first three chapters of the thesis there is a definition of volunteering, its use in the social sphere, and the approach of the Czech public to volunteering. Volunteer management is described in more detail, with an emphasis on the process of selecting volunteers, ensuring their preparation for volunteering, and attention is also paid to the evaluation and motivation of volunteers. The practical part describes the realized qualitative research, whose aim was to analyze the implementation of volunteering in the České Budějovice region. The main research question was: What does the issue of volunteer management currently look like in the České Budějovice area? Five partial research questions were derived from this question. The methods of data collection were semi-structured interviews and also the analysis of documents. The sample consisted of five communication partners from organizations in the České Budějovice region, who act as a volunteer coordinator. Data from interviews were analyzed using grounded theory design. The outcome was to propose a new theory in which emphasis is placed on strengthening the role of supervision in volunteer management. Volunteers do not use supervision, and contact the coordinators if necessary. However, coordinators are burdened with increased administration and cannot take responsibility for the work of the employees of organizations where volunteers operate and who should provide the necessary support and guidance to volunteers. In addition, supervision should serve as a tool to strengthen the identity of the volunteer and to increase interest in volunteering in society through awareness raising by well-run volunteers.

Volunteering has been evolving since antiquity. Nowadays, when various associations, organizations and centres have been established to facilitate volunteering, it is very easy to participate as a volunteer in all aspects of social life. On the contrary, motivating people to volunteer is becoming increasingly difficult. This is a huge competition for volunteers. This situation is probably due to the fact that most people cannot imagine doing some selfless work. However, people often justify their lack of free time or they simply do not want to do so. However, these people do not realize that if everyone approached volunteering in this way, people's cohesion would not work in the world. A volunteer provides selflessly his /her helping hand in his /her free time to someone who needs it. The aim of this thesis was to find out to what extent volunteer activities in the field of social work are extended among students of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences. For this thesis, a quantitative type of research with the method of questioning with the technique of anonymous questionnaire was used. The obtained data were evaluated into descriptive statistics in MC Excel and SPSS with t-test technique was used for statistical testing of the first two hypotheses and Pearson Correlation was used for testing of the third hypothesis. The research examined the question: What is the activity and awareness of the students of social fields of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences in volunteering? Hypothesis 1 investigated whether there is a statistically significant difference in the awareness of volunteering activities by students of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences by field of study. This hypothesis has been confirmed for a statistically significant difference has been found. Students studying Rehabilitation-Psychosocial Care for disabled children, adults and seniors were better informed in the field of volunteering. Hypothesis 2 investigated whether there is a statistically significant difference in the activity of students of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences in volunteering by field of study. As a result, no statistically significant difference has been found. Hypothesis 3 investigated whether there was a statistically significant influence of the year of study on student awareness. The results show that a statistically significant influence of the year of study on the awareness of students has been found. Research results can serve as a source of information for students and teachers. Students can see how they are doing in the activity and awareness of volunteering compared to the second field of study. This may create a motivation to seek out information about volunteering or attempt to participate directly as a volunteer. Teachers can use the results from the opinions of individual respondents to improve students' awareness. Furthermore, this work can serve as a source of information for those who would like to engage in volunteering, but do not know or are afraid of how this process will proceed. In this case, there is a description of the "Process of involving volunteers in volunteering".

In this bachelor thesis, I deal with the issue of volunteering in social services, with the aim to determine the role of a volunteer in a team of workers within an organization providing social services. Partial objective were to identify the role that volunteers have inside the team and characterise the relationships between volunteers and professional employees in the teams of these organizations. In order to achieve this aim, the strategy of qualitative research, the method of interviewing, and the technique of semi-guided interviews, were chosen. The interviews were conducted with ten professionals and ten volunteers working in five different organizations providing social services in the capital city of Prague. Subsequently, I conducted an evaluation of the results of the interviews by the clustering method. The research results demonstrate that the role of volunteers in organizations is viewed very positively; professional employees consider volunteers to be beneficial and recognize them as part of the organization's team. Even volunteers feel like a part of the team, but some have stated that although they see their role in the team as worthwhile, they would rather regard it as ancillary, complementing the main work carried out by professionals. The research results also demonstrate that the relationships between professionals and volunteers are viewed positively by both sides, despite of occasional disagreements. Concurrently, research has not proved whether the quality of the relationships is influenced by whether the relationships are formal or informal. The results of this work can contribute to improving the public's informativeness of volunteering, specifically, that a volunteer has a place within the group of people working in social services, and that he/she can be a full-fledged member of the team.

Volunteering is an activity based on individual's free will which contributes to social, economic, and cultural benefit of the entire society without volunteer's entitlement to remuneration. Volunteering within social services is primarily centred around non-for-profit organizations that represent the initial starting point particularly due to their significant interconnection. Coordination, an essential aspect of volunteering, is carried out by qualified professionals known as volunteering coordinators. The aim of this work is to describe and analyze the benefit and significance of volunteers' work within social services targeted at families and children. Qualitative method used as a part of the research allowed in-depth insight into voluteers' cooperation with social services. The research was conducted using questionnaire and semi-structured interview; the collected information was analysed through data classification. The analysis of the data collected proved that volunteering has a great benefit not only to organizations but particularly to the families in the area of education and development of children. This way volunteers contribute to family redevelopment and may help to eliminate occurrence of undesirable behaviour in children. Volunteers' approach differs to the one of experts' which may result in less professional but friendlier attitude. Another distinction lies in interaction with families; while a professional's job involves working with an entire family, a volunteer focuses solely on a child. The results of the research might be useful for organizations that consider incorporating volunteers into their structure. Equally, the work might become a suitable source of information for those who consider becoming volunteers within social services.

The bachelor thesis deals with the motivation of the volunteer therapists in the Social Clinic project, which provides short-term psychotherapy to people in difficult circumstances and can not afford usually available treatment for financial reasons. The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to map the motivational structure of the volunteer therapists to their volunteer activities. The theoretical part characterizes and defines volunteering, describes the approaches to motivation for volunteering and brings closer the Social Clinic project. The core of the practical part is the case study of the organization, which brings closer the knowledge of motivation of volunteers thanks to the quantitative and qualitative research. The research sample consisted of 64 volunteer therapists from the Social Clinic project (total selection) and the qualitative research was conducted in seven of them (4 women, 3 males). The VFI (Volunteer Functions Inventory) and semi-structured interviews were used to collect data. The results of the survey show that in the motivation of volunteers in the Social Clinic project are represented all 6 basic themes in this order: values, understanding, social relationships, empowerment, career, defense. The highest representation was demonstrated in value motivation characterized by altruism and humanitarian aid to others. Another motive that has emerged as important for the volunteer therapists is the motive for understanding that expresses the need to acquire new learning experiences and to develop existing skills. Other motives were not so significant to therapists. The bachelor thesis also provides a deeper insight into the most represented motives and also monitors the tendency of motivation of the therapists according to the length of their volunteer activity and the length of their psychotherapeutic practice.

The goal of the bachelor thesis is to describe motivational aspects of volunteers working with the seniors in volunteer organizations in České Budějovice. Theoretical part is devoted to terms as motivation, issues with volunteering and volunteer's motivation. Qualitative research, method of questioning and technique of semi controlled interview was chosen for practical part. For answering research questions, the interviews were realized with two research groups which contained 14 volunteering seniors from Dobrovolnické centrum ADRA České Budějovice or Dobrovolnické centrum Diecézní charita České Budějovice in the age from 15 to 44 for younger generation and 45 and more for older generations. Interview for the research of this thesis contained 11 questions and its goal was to find out motivation of volunteers working with the seniors. After getting needed data, the interviews were written down and then evaluated by open coding, where all data were organised into concrete categories. The result clearly shows that the most important motivational aspect for volunteering is desire to gain new experience. On the other hand, each volunteer has certain combination of many motivational aspects between which correlation exists. There is no valid statement that either younger or older generation has prevailing motivational aspect. Knowledge of volunteers motivation is very important for working with them and the thesis could be helpful for coordinators of volunteers or social workers who co-work with volunteers in given organisations.

The aim of this bachelor thesis was to assess the current state of the readiness of non-governmental organisations in South Bohemia concerning the preparation for handling larger groups of refugees. Moreover, the thesis determines the expected number of volunteers and inhabitants of South Bohemia willing to participate in activities aiming to help the refugees. The first part deals with the basic groups of non-governmental organisations distinguished by our legal code. The description of these groups focuses primarily on the general characteristics. An important chapter addresses the definition of the term Association of Non-Governmental Organisations in South Bohemia. Subsequently, the respective organisations united there are described in more detail. The last part of the theoretical background of the thesis is concerned with migration policy, the security aspects connected with migration, and the organisations working with refugees on the international level. To fulfil the aim No.1 "To review the readiness of non-governmental organisations in South Bohemia concerning the preparation for handling larger groups of refugees" and to answer the research question "What is the current state of readiness of non-governmental organisations in South Bohemia concerning the preparation for handling larger groups of refugees?", the method of qualitative research was employed. The research used the method of structured interviews with the responsible representatives of the NGOs united in the Association of NGOs in South Bohemia. To fulfil the aim No.2 "To determine the expected number of volunteers and inhabitants of South Bohemia willing to participate in activities aiming to help the refugees": The results demonstrated unequivocally that the organisation best prepared as far as the material and personnel viewpoint is concerned was the Czech Red Cross. Other organisations can provide material security or qualified psychological aid depending on their speciality. The results proved that the current state of the readiness of NGOs concerning the powers, tools and activities meets the requirements for providing help to a larger group of refugees on condition that the NGOs in The Association of Non-Governmental Organisations in South Bohemia cooperate. The questionnaire survey showed that fifty percent out of 284 respondents are willing to participate in activities aiming to help the refugees, which confirms the original hypothesis.

The goal of diploma work is to describe current state of volunteering within social rehabilitation in the facilities providing social services in the town of Benešov and the surrounding area. Partial aim of diploma work is to find out the positive effects of the project Patron which was included in the work as an example of application of volunteering within social. With regards of the above mentioned goals, two research questions were set. 1. How is volunteering within social rehabilitation being used in organisations providing social services? 2. What are the positive effects of project Patron? Quantitative strategy, questioning method, the technique of managed and semi managed interview were used for research. Set research questions were answered by means of three research sets, where the technique of semi managed interview was used and one research subject, where the technique of managed interview was used. To ascertain the first research question a research set comprising of 10 social workers employed in facilities providing social services in the town of Benešov or the surrounding area was determined. Given criteria for taking part in the research was the length of employment of social workers being more than on year in their profession. The range of questions for the first research set was prepared for the case when the facility was using the help of volunteers and not. The third research sets comprised of 5 men who volunteer for the project Patron. To complete information about project Patron and interview with a research subject representing the manager of project Patron was made. To gain necessary data the interviews were rewritten and then evaluated. Data gained from the second and third research sets were evaluated with the help of open coding process when all the data was clearly organized into each category Information gained from research subject was based on the research technique interpreted with the help of interview transcription. Data obtained from research sets show that clients and volunteers of project Patron get to know each other during common weekends. Volunteers meet the clients approximately once or twice a month to take part in their favourite activities and to talk. The research further shows volunteers and clients have good relationships based on trust. Based on answers from all informants we can without doubt claim that project Patron has very big positive effect. The process of professionalization consist in job creations and/or the professional management. Jobs can be filled by professionals with volunteer experience or by professionals without volunteer experience. If NGO employs professionals with volunteer experience, the character of personnel professionalization is organic, otherwise is inorganic. The main objective of this thesis is to determine the difference in process, level and consequences of organic and inorganic professionalization of nonprofit organizations. The presumption is that the organic professionalization implies less negative impact on the nonprofit organization than inorganic professionalization. In the theoretical part terms like nonprofit sector, NGOs and professionalization are defined and the theoretical background related to the character of personnel professionalization is presented there.
