Abstract

The diploma thesis analyzes the level of some communication methods of teachers at the second level of elementary school, which should lead to improved and more balanced mutual communication. The essence and goal of the work is to examine the presence of dialogic teaching of selected teachers. The work will offer an interesting comparison of theories with real findings. In the theoretical part, I describe and reflect on the use of communication forms using elements of dialogic teaching. I introduce and explain the elements that, according to the expert, lead to stimulation, engagement of students' thinking, which influence their learning and understanding. Dialogic teaching differs from the classic IRF structure in the teacher-student approach using question work and feedback in the learning process. I am looking for some answers to the questions of what communication factors influence student learning through teacher communication. I describe theoretical principles, selected examples, methods and their subsequent results when used in practice or research. At the same time, I present the advantages and reasons for use. In the practical part, through qualitative research, I analyze audio recordings from classes and interviews with teachers and students. I distinguished between open and closed...

Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the view of Czech internet debaters on doping in the Tour de France race through the analysis of discussions on two Czech internet news servers. The aim of this thesis is to find out how much the discussions under articles deal with the topic of doping, which topics do the main comments refer to, to point out possible differences in the discussions on both servers and, last but not least, to map how the discussants view the topic of doping. The thesis contains a theoretical part describing basic facts about elite cycling, the race itself, the role of doping in sport and internet discussions. The practical part consists of quantitative and qualitative research, specifically quantitative and qualitative content analysis, where the author uses a coding book and a priori coding to analyze articles related to the Tour de France 2022, discussions related to them and the content of main comments, resp. their relevance to the topic of doping. The result of the research is the obtained data, which help the author to answer predetermined research questions regarding the differences in the discussions on both servers, the amount of comments about doping in the discussions and the debaters' opinion on doping in cycling.

3. TROLLING A HODNOTA DISKUSE.

Abstract

Purpose - The article deals with the phenomenon of trolling in relation to the concept of discussion and its value. Our objectives are as follows: Explore trolling as a phenomenon from different perspectives, put trolling in relation to the concept of discussion and its value, bring new arguments for the widespread belief that there is an ethically acceptable and unacceptable trolling, to specify criteria for recognizing the value of discussion and acceptable and pathological trolling and presenting how we can fight the pathological trolling. Design / methodology / approach - Based on a literature review, we define trolling for the purposes of this article and set the initial hypothesis that there is an ethically acceptable and unacceptable trolling. Using the Jakobson model of communication, we analyze the concept of the value of the discussion in relation to its function and put it in relation to the concept of trolling in order to verify the initial hypothesis. From the concept of information, we derive the criteria for recognizing the value of the discussion and, following the elements of the communication process, we acquire the criteria for discerning trolling - along with certain ethical limits we set, we are able to recognize the circumstances in which trolling can be used. In conclusion, we provide an overview of possible responses that can be used in case of pathological trolling. The general methodological starting point of the article is critical realism, which we adopt as the noetically best grounded direction. The realistic view is influenced by the belief that we are able to adequately define concepts and analyze the relationship between them, that the notion of discussion value can be derived from its focus on the truth, and from the realistic definition of information we can obtain the criteria for recognizing the value of the discussion. If we evaluate trolling from an ethical point of view, we do not stand in the position of consecvenalism, which is governed only by the purposes of negotiation, but we consider that the criterion of correctness of the act is not only the aim of deed but also the act itself. Results - The main results of the article include the fact that we have succeeded in defining trolling using the concept of discussion and based on the definition of discussion as communication with the cognitive function we have determinated the value of the discussion and distinguished acceptable trolling from unacceptable trolling. Originality/Value - The basic contribution of the article is that we consider the introduction of the concept of trolling into the Czech information science environment, where a systematic treatise of this type has been missing. 4. Practical Relationships between Propagation and Meteorological Variables Derived from Videodistrometer Measurement and Its Ambiguity Discussion | Examples from Prague (CZ)

Abstract

In this contribution we discuss the possibilities of the distrometer or videodistrom-eter measurement. Firstly we describe brie°y what outputs are given through the videodistrom-eter measurement: equivolumetric rain drop diameter, fall velocity, oblateness etc. From these quantities we derive the one minute drop size distributions (DSDs) and from it pertinent radar refectivity factors Z, rain rates R, speci¯c rain attenuations of hypothetical microwave link A and rain kinetic energies Ek. 2017 and 2018 videodistrometer data from Prague were applied. Scatterplots EkR, EkZ A-Z and A-R are shown. In two last relations the unambiguity as a function of frequency was discussed it was observed that the unambiguity is maximal at 25 GHz frequency and minimal at 100 GHz for investigated frequencies from 10 to 100 GHz. For A-R relations the unambiguity was estimated also through the coe±cient of determination for the power law approximation., V tomto příspěvku diskutujeme o možnostech měření distrometru nebo videodistromu. Nejprve popíšeme, jaké výstupy jsou poskytovány prostřednictvím videodistrometrického měření: ekvivolumetrický průměr kapek deště, rychlost pádu, oblateness atd. Z těchto veličin, které odvodíme z jedné minutové distribuce velikosti kapek (DSD) a z toho příslušný faktory radarové odrazivosti Z, dešťové rychlosti R, specifické útlumy hypotetického mikrovlnného spoje A deštěm a dešťové kinetické energie Ek. Byly použity data z videodistrometrických dat 2017 a 2018 z Prahy. Jsou zobrazeny rozptyly EkR, EkZ A-Z a A-R. Ve dvou posledních vztazích byla diskutována jednoznačnost jako funkce frekvence, bylo pozorováno, že jednoznačnost je maximální na 25 GHz frekvence a minimální na 100 GHz pro zkoumané frekvence od 10 do 100 GHz. Pro A-R vztahy jednoznačnosti byly odhadnuty také pomocí koeficientu determinace pro mocninnou aproximaci.

The diploma thesis deals with leading discussions in English lessons at upper-secondary schools. In the theoretical part, procedures ensuring effective discussions are described based on previous research findings. The empirical part of the thesis explores how teachers tackle starting, conducting and concluding discussions in real classes and how students evaluate their teachers' efforts. The research is conducted by observing teachers and their classes, by interviewing teachers and by collecting feedback from students in questionnaires. Results comparing the theory with the in-class practice are provided. The conclusion summarizes the common tendencies and differences between the lessons, and the effectiveness of the approaches observed. Abstract

This thesis deals with various approaches of secondary school teachers and students to the rhetoric and the teaching of communication. The main purpose of the thesis is to map how students see the quality of their own communicative skills and the quaility of communication classes and the attitude of teachers to including communication in their classes. Attention is also paid to the development of communication teaching methods. The survey was carried out at seven Prague secondary schools mainly by using questionnaires. Data were also collected during interviews and when attending classes. The survey suggests that both students and teachers consider the teaching of communication a necessary part of Czech language and literature lessons and have a responsible attitude to it. Students are more critical to their own speech than their teachers. They have quite a good knowledge of the theoretical basis of rhetoric and communication but they have problems applying the theory in practise. Teachers prefer professional, clear and attractive textbooks of communication. As for the future of the subject teachers are of the opinion that it should become an inseparable part of all subjects, i. e. of comprehensive education. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2018 The bachelor thesis is focused on the behavioural competencies in the project management, terminology definition and specification of modern approaches in project management. Thesis was divided into two parts. The first part consists of a theoretical part which describes the basic concepts of project management. Furthermore this part focuses on the abovementioned behavioral competencies and their description. The second part of the thesis is an analysis of the obtained sources based on a questionnaire survey of selected sample of project managers. The conclusion of the thesis interprets suggestions as well as recommendations for project management area in conditions of identification behavioral competencies.

Abstract

With the so called Second internet era and the creation of Web 2.0, the amount of the internet users, who participate in creating its contect, has rapidly expanded. Open communication between the recipients and the producers of the media messages, and the wider possibilities to give a feedback as an online media reader are typical for this ongoing period. One of the ways, how to give a feedback, are the discussion forums below the articles. These discussion forums has changed in recent years and most of the Czech online media have started to moderate them or control them. The discussion forums are also not any longer anonymous. In this thesis, I am describing the discussion forums of the three most read Czech news websites - Novinky.cz, iDNES.cz and Aktuálně.cz. On the base of the analysis of the rules of a discussion and the interviews with the discussion administrators, I am describing, how many people in these media organizations work as the discussion administrators and how they moderate and control the posts. I am also dealing with the rules for the people, who want to také part in the discussion forums, whether they can be anonymous and if there are any specified rules, how to behave.

This work presents and evaluates the programme called Who I am which was published in 2007-2008 in the Brno Diocese's Catechetical Journal. This material offers a one- to two-hour long programme for young people in adolescent age. In this course (9 meetings), young people have an opportunity to consolidate their relationship with God, their faith, attitude to themselves, close relatives and to their life in general. I assess this programme from the point of view of its possible implementation for a distant preparation for marriage in the religion classes in the 8 th and 9 th grade of primary school as well as in the parish catechism. I also compare this programme with the Standards of the Czech Bishop Conference for the Preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage, particularly with the part dedicated to a distant preparation for matrimony.

The diploma thesis titled "Language Correctness and Incorrectness as an Argument Used in Online Discussions" deals with a language criticism which is used as an argument in online discussions. Firstly, the thesis frames language and speech, argumentation, rhetoric, and communication. Then it introduces online discussions and describes how they work, and how they contribute to communication. It is also focused on the users as creators of content in online discussions. The thesis analyzes the corpus of online discussions in which the argumentation based on language correctness and incorrectness is contained. According to communication situations, the thesis classifies by what language criticism is started, what arguments are used by the critics, how the critized react, and how the others perceive language criticism. The research also examines the consequence of language criticism in online discussions. The goal of the thesis is to determinate whether and how language incorrectness may affect information value of particular post, and how the arguments based on language correctness and incorrectness are used.

Abstract

Diploma thesis deals with the approval process of participation of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic in foreign operations. The aim of this thesis is to find political elite's dominant motivation which leads to the decision take part in foreign military operations. Hypothesis assumes that according to the material capabilities and power ambitions of the Czech Republic there is only one dominant motivation which can be described as commitments to the membership in UN, NATO or EU. To fulfil this aim we used a content analysis of relevant discussions realized in the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic since 1993 until present. Identified arguments are assign with one of the five relevant categories (policy related to the commitments to the membership, security and political interests, historical symbolism, potential of profit in the future and influence of the domestic political situation). Analysis also considers the revelation of official statements of the political party and speeches of its members in the Chamber of Deputies.

This bachelor thesis focuses on Philosophy for Children (P4C). Outline of this issue describes in the first part of this study. The main aim of thesis is compare two approaches to philosophy with children. The study deals with starting point for ways and is looked for their differences. Lipman's and Brenifier's methods is confronted (main issues of methods, teacher?s position and his role during the philosophizing with children). The thesis deals with conversation, discussion and dialogue during philosophical search and describes important field of development all personality performers. The thesis endeavours to suggest possibilities of combining both methods. The reasons for this connection is presented. In the practical part of study, actual implementation of connection of Lipman?s and Brenifier?s methods is described.

Abstract

This work deals with development of preschool children vocabulary. It focuses on speech self, on its development in relation to thinking and the development from the ontogenetic perspektive. Further, its maps the view on speech development in the past and present. The part dealing with RWCT follows. The thesis tries to outline the basic ideas of this programme and its application in kindergarten. It aims to familiarise readers with new approaches and methods of language and speech development, and to outline the basics of this programme. The thesis also compares this programme with the Start Together programme, which issues from RWCT. Another topic of the thesis is a comparison of the objectives of RWCT and the Framework Education Programme for Preschool Education, where the relationship between RWCT and Framework Education Programme for Preschool Edication objectives is shown. In the practical part of the thesis, statistical data from two kindergartens show whether using RWCT methods in kindergarten positively impacts development of select communication skills of preschool children. The thesis aims to prove that the RWCT methods positively support the overall communication skills and abilities of preschool children.

Bachelor thesis "Debate about the introduction of a Bill of Rights in the United Kingdom" deals with a debate which has been taking place in the United Kingdom since 2007 and which mainly considers the possibility of introducing an original British Bill of Rights. The thesis presents the most important moments of the debate and opinions of its most significant participants. These are politicians, scholars in the fields of constitutional law and human rights as well as non-governmental organisations, think-tanks and pressure groups. The thesis analyses their arguments and opinions and examines which of these arguments are the most often mentioned and are the most influential. In general, the debate deals most with the questions whether a Bill of Rights should be introduced, what it should include and how it should be entrenched. The character and the content of the debate are significantly affected by the discussion of the current protection of rights in the country. This has been since 1998 represented by the Human Rights Act which incorporated the European Convention on Human Rights into the constitutional system. This thesis deals with an identity of young Romanies. About its development, meaning and importance when searching for oneself. To understand the significance of finding the Romanian youth´s identity, it is essential to get familiar with their culture, traditions, way of life etc. In the theoretical part it is possible to find the topic of personal development with relation to free time, its importance with creating a personality and educational methods applied to working with Romanian youth coming out of {\clq}qgood experience``. Abstract

Tato práce se zabývá fenoménem internetových diskuzí a fór. Práce se snaží seznámit čtenáře se způsoby komunikace lidí na internetu prostřednictvím takovýchto stránek, uvádí několik příkladu diskuzních serverů a několik diskuzních fór, na nichž ukazuje základní rozdíl mezi zaměřením, pojetím a smyslem serveru a fóra. Není opomenuta specifická terminologie, technické termíny, neologizmy a termíny pro bežné uživatele, emotikony a akronymy, které jsou jedním z charakteristických znaku diskuzí. Cílem této práce je zjistit důvody, které vedou jedince ke vstupu do těchto komunit. Na základě rozhovoru s uživateli s různou mírou aktivity i doby působnosti a vlastního pozorování chování řady jedinců na jednom konkrétním diskuzním fóru rovnež objasnit, jak se projevují, zdali dokonce časem nevytvářejí úzké osobní vztahy a jaká specifika mohou tyto vztahy mít, jak řeší spory, zdali nepodnikají společné akce či jak se lidé při různých událostech cítí v takovémto společenství, které se musí dříve či později zákonitě utvořit., The submitted thesis deals with the phenomenon of online discussions and forums. The purpose is to acquaint the reader with ways of communication on the internet by means of such web sites. Several examples of discussion servers and phorums are shown and used for demostration of the basic difference between the foci, concepts and purposes of server and forum. The author does not omit specific terminology, technical terms, neologisms and expressions of ordinary users, emoticons and acronyms that are one of the characteristic features of those discussions. The aim of this thesis is to identify reasons leading individuals to join these communities. Based on interviews with users with varying degree of both activity scope and lenght of involvement and on observations of behaviour of a number of individuals in one particular forum, the author attempts to shed light on the way the members of the forum manifest themselves, whether they even create closer personal relationships and what kind of specific features these relationships may have, how they solve conflicts, whether they participate in joint activities or how may people feel during various events in this kind of society that sooner or later must be inevitably formed., Katedra sociálních věd, Dokončená práce s úspěšnou obhajobou
