The article deals with the idea of Central Europe and aims to identify common devel¬opmental tendencies of the region in the medieval period and early modern age. The author emphasizes the advantages of the comparative approach primarily in the case of the medieval and early modern Polish, Czech and Hungarian states. Alongside common developmental tendencies the author emphasizes also important differences which cast doubt on the very idea of Central Europe.

The contribution summarizes and recapitulates issues of narrative historical poetics. It deepens knowledge of profile narrative texts (classic and modern) and narrative modes (rhetorical, objective and subjective narration) with respect to the developmental point of view. In conformity with Doležel’s requirement of the research on narrative transformations in so called longue durée (long duration) the contribution observes the processes of subjectivisation and objectivisation of modern Czech narration.

Floral integration refers to the patterns of co-variation among floral traits and can result from genetic correlations, developmental constraints and the function of traits in pollination and reproduction. Most studies have examined variation of mature flowers within populations or species (static integration) with contrasting pollination systems in order to test the role of pollinator-mediated selection in floral integration. But little is known about the ontogenetic pattern of floral integration and how it is related to floral morphology and floral integration patterns. Here we examined floral variation across ontogeny (ontogenetic integration) in two related Schizanthus species with contrasting floral morphology, pollination syndromes and static integration patterns. We also estimated ontogenetic integration in early and late phases of ontogeny. We found that ontogenetic integration varies among species and during ontogeny in accordance with the function of traits in pollination and static integration patterns of mature flowers. Our results suggest that both ontogenetic and static integration patterns are showing functional relationship related to the pollination process. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Vědecké ověřování, syntéza a analýza různých praktických i teoretických informací poskytují základ pro hodnocení a formulaci četných faktorů ovlivňujících vývoj sportovní gymnastiky. Cílem článku je pokus o charakterizování vývoje moderní sportovní gymnastiky. Následující závěry vyplývají z teoretické analýzy literatury posledních několika let, z analýzy tréninkového procesu ukrajinských a ruských gymnastů, z vlastních zkušeností získaných ve funkci trenéra i soutěžícího a z dlouhodobého výzkumu předních polských gymnastů. Hlavními vývojovými tendencemi jsou individuální přístup k tréninkovému procesu, intenzifikace tréninku, rychlejší zvládání sportovních programů vzhledem k neustálému vývoji metodiky, důležitost tělesné přípravy sportovců, sjednocování tréninkového procesu gymnastů vrcholové úrovně, zlepšování prostředků zajišťujících bezpečnější tréninkovou práci a vědecký výzkum hlavních součástí tréninkové přípravy. The scientific verification, the synthesis and the analysis of practical as well as theoretical information provide us with a basis for assessing and formulating a number of factors which influence the development of sports gymnastics. The aim of the article is an attempt at characterising the development of modern sports gymnastics. The following conclusions result from theoretical analysis of the literature which has been available for the last few years, the analysis of the training process of Ukrainian and Russian gymnasts, as well as my own experience gained both as a trainer and a competitor and a long-term researcher interested in our leading Polish gymnasts. The main developmental tendencies concern: an individual's attitude towards the training process, the intensification of the training, a faster mastering of the sports programs owing to the constant development of the methodology, the importance of physical training of the athletes, the unification of the training technology of the gymnasts who represent the advanced level, the improvement of the means which make the training work safer, and a scientific study of the main components of the training technology.

The spa resort Sokobanja has undergone a long and continual tourism development. In the year 1827. the first guest was registered. Since then Sokobanja has occupied a significant place in the development of Serbian spa tourism. According to the number of visits and night-beds, Sokobanja has held the second place since 1975. The record number of visits (98.471) was achieved in 1987. and the record number of night-beds (840.484) in 1986. This paper points to the advantages of the tourism-geographic position of Sokobanja, significant and versatile treasure of its natural and anthropogenic resources, as well as the material basis for its tourism development. In addition, the basic features and tendencies of the so far development are highlighted and possibilities for further tourism development are considered.

This contribution presents partial results of a statistical analysis of export indicators of selected agricultural and alimentary categories of products from the Czech Republic according to countries in a reference period 1993−2002. The analysis includes short-run prediction based on applied modes of developmental tendencies of assessed phenomena.
