Rob\^oCIn has participated in RoboCup Small Size League since 2019, won its first world title in 2022 (Division B), and is currently a three-times Latin-American champion. This paper presents our improvements to defend the Small Size League (SSL) division B title in RoboCup 2023 in Bordeaux, France. This paper aims to share some of the academic research that our team developed over the past year. Our team has successfully published 2 articles related to SSL at two high-impact conferences: the 25th RoboCup International Symposium and the 19th IEEE Latin American Robotics Symposium (LARS 2022). Over the last year, we have been continuously migrating from our past codebase to Unification. We will describe the new architecture implemented and some points of software and AI refactoring. In addition, we discuss the process of integrating machined components into the mechanical system, our development for participating in the vision blackout challenge last year and what we are preparing for this year.

- Abstract
The purpose of this paper was to verify the use of organisational culture and strategic management in the public sector, specifically in school management. To do this, a systematic literature was used. As a result, we presented a survey of the papers on the state of the art of the subject and analysed the heterogeneity of the returned papers. In addition, we analysed 348 papers presenting the search strings on the Web of Science and Scopus, the increase in the theme in recent years, the number of authors, the countries of the researchers, the research approaches, and the word cloud of returned themes. We also made a preliminary bibliometric analysis. We concluded the importance of a systematic review to point out a research gap and provided a systematic review protocol for the area and related research.

10. Cultural Dimensions as Key Aspects to Change and Improve School Performance: A Qualitative Study in the Brazilian Public Schools

- Abstract
Purpose: Despite the school organizational culture broad literature, there is still a gap on culture and educational management, mainly in the public environment. To fill out this space, this article wants to point out the cultural factors that creates school management change in the Brazilian public school context. Design/methodology/approach: The sample is a polar multi-case approach with two high performance and two low performance Brazilian schools. The authors conducted 12 interviews, three each school, with school principal, pedagogical coordinator and administrative officer. To analyze the data, the authors applied synthetic analysis to identify the cultural factors and your conduciveness to change in schools. Findings: The results point out organizational culture as low understood in public municipal schools. These results also indicate the cultural dimensions power distance, uncertainty avoidance, individualism, masculinity, long-term orientation and indulgence as influencers of school management. Therefore, organizational culture is a factor to change and improve performance in public school management. Research limitations/implications: Despite the low comprehensiveness by the school managers, the authors pointed out the importance of the cultural factors, such as power distance, uncertainty avoidance, individualism, masculinity, long-term orientation and indulgence, in the school management. Future research could assess quantitatively the cultural factors presented here. Social implications: The paper provides cultural aspects in the school environment that should be considered in the school management improvement process and school principals' actions. Originality/value: The results fulfil the gap of organizational culture and school management in the public sector studies, by pointing out cultural factors of change in the school environment.

The new coronavirus became a severe health issue for the world. This situation has motivated studies of different areas to combat this pandemic. In software engineering, we point out data visualization projects to follow the disease evolution, machine learning to estimate the pandemic behavior, and computer vision processing radiologic images. Most of these projects are stored in version control systems, and there are discussions about them in Question & Answer websites. In this work, we conducted a Mining Software Repository on a large number of questions and projects aiming to find trends that could help researchers and practitioners to fight against the coronavirus. We analyzed 1,190 questions from Stack Overflow and Data Science Q\&A and 60,352 GitHub projects. We identified a correlation between the questions and projects throughout the pandemic. The main questions about coronavirus are how-to, related to web scraping and data visualization, using Python, JavaScript, and R. In [11] and [13] the authors showed that elementary cellular automata rules 0, 3, 8, 12, 15, 28, 32, 34, 44, 51, 60, 128, 136, 140, 160, 162, 170, 200 and 204 (and their conjugation, reflection, reflected-conjugation) are not maximum sensitive to synchronism, i.e. they do not have a different dynamics for each (non-equivalent) block-sequential update schedule (defined as ordered partitions of cell positions). In this work we present exact measurements of the sensitivity to synchronism for these rules, as functions of the size. These exhibit a surprising variety of values and associated proof methods, such as the special pairs of rule 128, and the connection to the bissection of Lucas numbers of rule 8.

Accidents caused by Bothrops jararaca (Bj) snakes result in several local and systemic manifestations, with pain being a fundamental characteristic. The inflammatory process responsible for hyperalgesia induced by Bj venom (Bjv) has been studied; however, the specific roles played by the peripheral and central nervous systems in this phenomenon remain unclear. To clarify this, we induced hyperalgesia in rats using Bjv and collected tissues from dorsal root ganglia (DRGs) and spinal cord (SC) at 2 and 4 h post-induction. Samples were labeled for Iba-1 (macrophage and microglia), GFAP (satellite cells and astrocytes), EGR1 (neurons), and NK1 receptors. Additionally, we investigated the impact of minocycline, an inhibitor of microglia, and GR82334 antagonist on Bjv-induced hyperalgesia. Our findings reveal an increase in Iba1 in DRG at 2 h and EGR1 at 4 h. In the SC, markers for microglia, astrocytes, neurons, and NK1 receptors exhibited increased expression after 2 h, with EGR1 continuing to rise at 4 h. Minocycline and GR82334 inhibited venom-induced hyperalgesia, highlighting the crucial roles of microglia and NK1 receptors in this phenomenon. Our results suggest that the hyperalgesic effects of Bjv involve the participation of microglial and astrocytic cells, in addition to the activation of NK1 receptors.

Fuel droplets represent strong inhomogeneities that are generally detrimental and intensify the stochastic behaviour of ignition. Still, the presence of small droplets has been found to decrease minimum ignition energies and enhance flame speeds. In this study, a comprehensive analysis of the phases of ignition in sprays is carried out in a controlled, well-characterised experiment: the initiation of a spherically expanding flame in a turbulent droplet-laden jet by a laser spark. A revision of definitions of ignition-related terms is proposed based on a critical time scale of the spark effects on the flame, evaluated from OH* visualisation, allowing for a distinction between the phases of kernel generation and flame growth. Based on the critical time scale, ignition failure time scales can be measured, as well as kernel sizes conditional on ignition or failure. Small kernels typically quenched faster than the critical time scale, characterising the short-mode failure. This mode was suppressed by increasing the laser energy and, consequently, the initial kernel size. Still, the ignitability of lean ethanol mixtures was only effectively improved through high-energy sparks and partial prevaporisation, with ignition being limited by breakdown. In jet fuel sprays, a suppression of short and long-mode failure occurred by decreasing the droplet size. In fact, by doing this, different flame propagation mechanisms were observed by OH/fuel PLIF. Both aviation fuels investigated - Jet A and a renewable alternative, ATJ-8 - exhibited similar flame speed behaviour due to changes in droplet size in each of the modes identified: the droplet, inter-droplet, and gaseous-like propagation modes. Concentrated reactions around large droplets found in lean conditions allowed for a slowly propagating flame front which ignited new droplets. Stoichiometric to rich conditions presented stronger evaporation at the flame and higher and more uniform heat release. Still, large droplets penetrated the flame, locally inducing regions of negative curvature and continuing to evaporate in the products. The droplet-induced effects disappeared at low SMD and rich conditions, giving rise to a fully gaseous layer at the flame and the highest flame speeds. Finally, insight and data from experiments are used to improve a low-order ignition model towards applications with sprays. Fuel fluctuations are modelled using a stochastic approach, and the extinction criterion of the model is calibrated. The model is then tested for an aviation gas-turbine combustor.

Introduction: Triatomines are vectors of Trypanosoma cruzi, the etiological agent of Chagas disease. Currently, there is no vaccine against this disease. Thus, control of the insect vector population is the main strategy available to reduce the number of cases. Triatomines are considered obligate hematophagous, but different alternative feeding behaviors were described, such as haemolymphagy or plant feeding. Methods: To determine the preference for sugar feeding in nymphs and adults of Rhodnius prolixus, the insects were exposed a piece of cotton containing bromophenol blue plus sucrose. In addition, we offered several sugars for different species of triatomines, and tested sugar meals as a route of delivery of insecticides in first-instar nymphs of R. prolixus. The effect of sugar feeding on the physiology of these different species of triatomines was recorded. Results: First instar nymphs ingested sucrose more strongly than other stages, and showed high mortality rates. In different species of triatomines, sucrose induced an ingestion, but engorgement varied according to the species. R. prolixus nymphs showed an indiscriminate intake of various sugars, with very different physiological effects. Furthermore, ingesting different combinations of insecticides + sugar significantly reduced insect survival. Discussion: In summary, we described for the first-time sugar feeding as a widespread behavior in several species of triatomines, and the possibility of the use of toxic sugar baits for the control of these vectors. Introduction: An ideal orthodontic treatment involves qualitative and quantitative measurements of dental and skeletal components to evaluate patients' discrepancies, such as facial, occlusal, and functional characteristics. Deciding between orthodontics and orthognathic surgery remains challenging, especially in borderline patients. Advances in technology are aiding clinical decisions in orthodontics. The increasing availability of data and the era of big data enable the use of artificial intelligence to guide clinicians' diagnoses. This study aims to test the capacity of different machine learning (ML) models to predict whether orthognathic surgery or orthodontics treatment is required, using soft and hard tissue cephalometric values. Methods: A total of 920 lateral radiographs from patients previously treated with either conventional orthodontics or in combination with orthognathic surgery were used, comprising n = 558 Class II and n = 362 Class III patients, respectively. Thirty‐two measures were obtained from each cephalogram at the initial appointment. The subjects were randomly divided into training (n = 552), validation (n = 183), and test (n = 185) datasets, both as an entire sample and divided into Class II and Class III sub‐groups. The extracted data were evaluated using 10 machine learning models and by a four‐expert panel consisting of orthodontists (n = 2) and surgeons (n = 2). Results: The combined prediction of 10 models showed top‐ranked performance in the testing dataset for accuracy, F1‐score, and AUC (entire sample: 0.707, 0.706, 0.791; Class II: 0.759, 0.758, 0.824; Class III: 0.822, 0.807, 0.89). Conclusions: The proposed combined 10 ML approach model accurately predicted the need for orthognathic surgery, showing better performance in Class III patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
