This paper seeks to analyze the reorganization of Portuguese higher education under the Masters in Social Work, and the impacts that the study plans of this level of education suffered after the adjustments of the Bologna Process. The work focuses on the master courses created before this process and in sequence, on the adjustments made in the study plans of the courses after Bologna. Higher education, especially Social Work's postgraduate education, the object of study in this article, is problematized from its limits and possibilities as part of a strong and emancipatory education policy, capable of promoting social transformation. At first, we tried to analyse the processes of adaptation to the Bologna Process, and at a second moment, we tried to explain the repercussions of the evaluation and accreditation of Higher Education in the current Masters courses in Social Work that were adapted to the new education system. In conclusion, we can perceive an extensive suppression of contents, reflected by the creation and distribution of different and technicists subjects in the study plans, in order to accelerate and make teaching in the Master in Social Work increasingly technical.
