In this work, a hydrothermal method was proposed to fabricate a nanomaterial composed of titanium dioxide and graphene oxide (10 wt%) (TiO2-GO). The GO was synthesized according to the modified Hummers and Offeman method, followed by exfoliation. Several characterization analyses were performed in order to investigate the structure, functional groups, and elemental composition of the nanomaterial. XRD analysis showed that the presence of GO does not change the crystalline structure of TiO2. FTIR evidenced the characteristic peaks present in both precursor materials (TiO2 and GO) and EDX confirmed the presence of GO on the TiO2-GO material. The nanomaterial was used as a photocatalyst in the TWW treatment, where the color and COD removal and the decrease of the characteristic peaks presented in the UV–Vis spectrum were investigated. The dosages of TiO2-GO and pH were studied to find the optimum operating condition. The results revealed that 0.5 g of photocatalyst with an initial pH of 3 achieve the best results under UV-A radiation. The kinetic test shows a COD removal of 87% after 90 min. The reuse test shows a decrease in COD removal after four cycles attributed to the deposition of some oxidized compounds on the catalyst surface. Finally, the efficiency of the photocatalyst was evaluated under solar radiation and it was shown that despite the good results, the performance of the TiO2-GO was better under UV-A radiation. The fractions of soil are considered non-renewable natural resources, because the time scale required for its formation. Clay has high availability in nature, and therefore its use is still indiscriminate. It is the main raw material for the manufacture of red ceramic sprayed throughout the Brazilian territory. The objective was to conduct a discussion of nonrenewable natural resource clay and its use in industry's production process of red ceramic. It was developed through literature review and case study of technical a red ceramic industry in the municipality of Paudalho in Pernambuco state visits. In 2013 the X Industry acquired for stock and consumption 70,161 tons, for a production of 35,806,268 ceramic blocks. The entire quantity produced there was a loss of 7.5%, which reflects in 4,768 tons of clay and an approximate loss of R $ 845,835.52. Through work is noticed that there is a need for planning of exploration and use of non-renewable natural resources, as they may become scarce and derail certain production processes. This can lead to social and economic conflicts, the valuation of resources and reduced availability for use, resulting in lower profits for entrepreneurs and consequently decrease in the supply of jobs. The water-driven AquaCrop model to simulate yield response has been calibrated and validated for soybean cultivated under different water levels irrigation in Matopiba region, Brazil. The crop was submitted to seven irrigation treatments during the dry season and a dry treatment in the rainy season. The model was parameterized and calibrated by using soybean yield data collected at field level. Model performance was evaluated by using the following statistical parameters: prediction error (Pe), Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency index (E), coefficient of determination (R2), mean absolute error (MAE), root mean square error normalized (RMSEN) and Willmott's index (d). The statistical analyses of the AquaCrop model calibrated for the Matopiba region disclosed error acceptable for yield prediction of soybean grown under tropical climate conditions. Results also indicated that the C2 soybean cultivar is more resistant to water stress than the C1 soybean grown in the Matopiba region, Brazil. In the treatments when the crop was well supplied with water, at least in one phase, the yield was greater than those with drought stress at last in one phase. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
