Our study describes a fatal case of phlegmasia cerulea dolens and massive venous thrombosis in a patient taking rivaroxaban regularly to treat cerebral venous sinus thrombosis. Blood tests samples were positive for lupus anticoagulant. The unique evolution of the case, as well as the positivity for lupus anticoagulant, raises the possibility of an acquired hypercoagulation syndrome. We highlight the fact that the test recommended as the first line for lupus anticoagulant diagnosis (dilute Russell viper venom time) is the most affected by rivaroxaban, leading to a high prevalence of false-positive results. We also discuss potential diagnoses for the current case and review the current state-of-the-art of use of the novel oral anticoagulation agents in this unusual situation. A babygirl, aged six weeks, was hospitalized for rectal prolapse and isolated constipation. The investigation revealed a neuroblastoma (NB) inducing a medullar compression responsible for the sphincter disorders. NB is second among pediatric solid tumors, but is the most frequent cancer among infants. Its diagnosis is difficult because of its rarity and the variety of its symptoms. A new staging, based on imaging, has recently been proposed by the International Neuroblastoma Risk Group. With the exception of its localized, easily resectable forms, NB is best treated by chemotherapy.

In 1930, Dr Edward Bach developed flower essences known as Bach flowers. Today, over 70 years later, they are becoming more and more popular and are used by many practitioners, despite a total lack of scientific support for their use. A review of the literature on the controversial use of this alternative treatment is discussed.
