BackgroundControlling the COVID-19 outbreak in Brazil is a challenge due to the population’s size and urban density, inefficient maintenance of social distancing and testing strategies, and limited availability of testing resources. ObjectiveThe purpose of this study is to effectively prioritize patients who are symptomatic for testing to assist early COVID-19 detection in Brazil, addressing problems related to inefficient testing and control strategies. MethodsRaw data from 55,676 Brazilians were preprocessed, and the chi-square test was used to confirm the relevance of the following features: gender, health professional, fever, sore throat, dyspnea, olfactory disorders, cough, coryza, taste disorders, and headache. Classification models were implemented relying on preprocessed data sets; supervised learning; and the algorithms multilayer perceptron (MLP), gradient boosting machine (GBM), decision tree (DT), random forest (RF), extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), k-nearest neighbors (KNN), support vector machine (SVM), and logistic regression (LR). The models’ performances were analyzed using 10-fold cross-validation, classification metrics, and the Friedman and Nemenyi statistical tests. The permutation feature importance method was applied for ranking the features used by the classification models with the highest performances. ResultsGender, fever, and dyspnea were among the highest-ranked features used by the classification models. The comparative analysis presents MLP, GBM, DT, RF, XGBoost, and SVM as the highest performance models with similar results. KNN and LR were outperformed by the other algorithms. Applying the easy interpretability as an additional comparison criterion, the DT was considered the most suitable model. ConclusionsThe DT classification model can effectively (with a mean accuracy≥89.12%) assist COVID-19 test prioritization in Brazil. The model can be applied to recommend the prioritizing of a patient who is symptomatic for COVID-19 testing.

The activities developed by Community Health Agents are strategic for child growth and development due to the uniqueness and proximity with which these actors perform their interventions in the community. Such actions favor children's health, resulting in a reduction in child mortality, improvement in growth deficit and malnutrition, and an increase in vaccination coverage and breastfeeding. The objective of the study was to know the perception of community health agents about child growth and development. This is an exploratory descriptive, qualitative study, carried out with 30 Community Health Agents who worked in Primary Care and Family Health Strategy Teams in a municipality in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Data were collected from April to July 2021, through an online questionnaire and analyzed according to Discursive Textual Analysis. Data analysis allowed the construction of four categories, namely: Growth as a process of physical evolution of children; Child development as a broad process of evolution; Elements that facilitate the work of Community Health Agents; and Elements that hinder the work of Community Health Agents. For the study participants, children growth is associated with the physical evolution of children, while child development is understood as a broader process that is influenced by the environment and the external conditions in which children live. The Community Health Agents have a strategic and unique professional role in the monitoring of these processes, as they are capable of identifying diseases that need specific attention and providing care in a timely manner. One factor that impacts the quality of Brazilian education is the quality of books and other didactic materials freely distributed throughout the country to public schools, thanks to the Brazilian National Textbook Program. The current evaluation process may take at least two years to complete, involving hundreds of people, and the final result may impact the entire educational system. One of the first activities of the process is to validate and triage the editorial quality attributes of textbooks. However, the validation and triage process needs improvement, considering the gradual expansion of the quantity and variety of materials that currently affect it. This generates risks of reduced quality and timely deliveries. This paper provides a comprehensive critical analysis of the validation and triage process based on the Policy Design Arc framework of Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. We identified causes that affect the quality of deliveries and the time required to conclude tasks. We also propose a theory of change for digital transformation, defining strategies to address the causes of problems, outputs, outcomes, and impacts. Objective: to know the institutional care provided by professional caregivers who work with children and adolescents living in Casa Lar. Method: qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study, in which 11 professionals who work with children and adolescents sheltered participated. Data collection took place from August to November 2021, from a semi-structured interview, on the Google Meet® Platform. The enunciations were submitted to thematic content analysis. Results: professionals working at Casa Lar develop a challenging work in institutional care, based on interaction and affective relationship, humanitarian reception, favoring strategies for socialization and personal development, through teamwork, with a view to vulnerabilities, welcoming demands and strengthening bonds. Conclusion: when embracing children and adolescents, it is essential that professionals offer care that meets the health demands of these individuals, and that contemplates the singularities present in the process of institutional care. Objective: To identify the role of nursing in the care network for adolescents with special health needs from the perspective of family caregivers. Methods: Analysis of a research database carried out with family caregivers of adolescents with special health needs, users of a specialty clinic. Unpublished transcripts were read and later, the Pecheutian discourse analysis was carried out, the corpus of the study was composed of 30 participants. Results: Nursing was the reference in the care of adolescents with special health needs, there is a relationship of trust and help, supported by the credibility of these professionals facing the demands of care required by adolescents. With emphasis on those who worked at the hospital and clinic where the study was carried out, due to the frequent hospitalizations of adolescents. This study aims to describe the daily challenges of caring for children with special health needs by family caregivers in the home. Research with a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory approach, mediated by the semi-structured interview conducted at home with 15 family caregivers of children. Saturation sampling was used, the statements were double transcribed, and submitted to content analysis. The results reveal that the care provided to children with special health needs is carried out exclusively by women in the family, mothers and grandparents, children between 0 and 10 years of age, who need medication care for their survival. From the statements, two thematic categories emerged: "Challenges faced by family caregivers of CRIANES" and "Care and strategies for medication administration". It is noteworthy that the challenges of daily care involve food, body hygiene, constant surveillance and the administration of medications. It is suggested that the family of these children, be supported by health services and oriented, in order to minimize the challenges of daily care in the home space. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective is to understand the daily life of family caregivers of adolescents with special health needs attended in an outpatient clinic. This is a descriptive qualitative research developed at the reference outpatient clinic for adolescents. The previous reading of medical records was used, associated with a semi-structured audio interview recorded with 35 family caregivers, which were double transcribed and subjected to Pêcheux's discourse analysis. The care is essentially feminine sometimes shared with other family members. Care strategies are consolidated in the search for information, in the search for help in health services, in the development of procedures. Maternal overload was evidenced, the daily care is permeated by strategies built over time through the knowledge of the experience made. We suggest that nurses develop an expanded approach to the network that supports and welcomes adolescents and their families. Objective: To know how nursing professionals perceive their work and the challenges of their daily lives in a pediatric inpatient unit. Methods: Qualitative, descriptive and exploratory research, carried out with nursing professionals from a pediatric inpatient unit of a philanthropic hospital in southern Brazil. The data were produced from semi-structured interviews and submitted to thematic content analysis. Results: The first analytical category showed the professionals' perceptions about nursing work and daily challenges in a pediatric unit. The second analytical category, on the other hand, revealed the demands of continuing education for the qualification of nursing work in a pediatric unit. Conclusion: Nursing professionals faced the challenge of promoting qualified and humanized care, despite the immersion in a daily routine and accumulation of activities, highlighting permanent education as a possibility to enhance their professional practice. Objective: Report strategies used by professors of undergraduate nursing courses in Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina and the and the challenges facing remote education during the pandemic by the new coronavirus. Methods: Experience report developed by professors of undergraduate nursing courses on the strategies used for remote education in virtue of social distance from the new coronavirus pandemic. Results: In a short period it was necessary to adapt teaching through the use of new digital technologies, in order to provide meaningful moments that contribute to the training of students. Among the main challenges is the difficulty of students accessing the internet what can cause evasion and interfere with learning. Strategies such as the use of interactive technologies were shown to facilitate remote teaching. Conclusion: The challenge of the teacher in the remote teaching process is based on the difficulty of using new technologies and on how to make classes more motivational, attractive and meaningful.
