- Abstract
Transgender people have often been the target of widespread prejudice and discrimination. To better analyse this phenomenon it is necessary to have valid and reliable measures for this specific target group. This article describes four studies in which we developed the Prejudice against Transsexual Scale (PTS). In Study 1, we developed the items and analysed its content and semantic validities. The results allowed the retention of 42 items to be answered in Likert format, half referring to transsexual women (PTS-W) and the other half referring to transsexual men (PTS-M). In Study 2 (N = 300) we performed an exploratory analysis of the scale's factorial structure and performed an analysis of the quality of the items using the item response theory approach. The results indicate a single-factorial structure with two parallel sub-scales (PTS-W and PTS-M), each with 10 identical items and strong internal consistency. Study 3 (N = 237) gathered complementary evidence of factorial validity through confirmatory factorial analysis. Finally, Study 4 (N = 148) allowed us to analyse the convergent-discriminatory validity of the two sub-scales. The synthesis of the results indicates that the PTS presents consistent evidence of validity and reliability for the measurement of prejudice against transsexuals.

- Abstract
Violence against women, like COVID-19, is a pandemic phenomenon that affects all social strata. The aim of this study was to understand the relations between psychological abuse, self-esteem, and emotional dependency in women during the pandemic, from the perspective of the Theory of Traumatic Bonding. The sample included 222 women, the majority heterosexual (76.6%), dating (53.3%) or married (44.1%). The results showed that the greater the psychological abuse, the lower the self-esteem and thegreater the dependence on the spouse. An alternative model has also been confirmed, demonstrating that the greater the dependency, the greater the susceptibility to maintaining abusive relationships, and the low self-esteem intensifies this cyclical process. In addition, we observed that women who live full-time with partners during social isolation showed greater psychological abuse and exclusive dependency, A violência contra a mulher assim como a COVID19 é um fenômeno pandêmico, que atinge todas as camadas sociais. This study investigates the system justifying role through belief in a just world (BJW), testing whether institutional trust is related to this belief and whether this relationship depends on specific socioeconomic and political factors. A research with 381 university students, aged 18 to 64 years (M = 22.4, SD = 6.25), explored their BJW and their degree of institutional trust. Regression and moderation analyses revealed that BJW relates to institutional trust only in left-wing and with lower income participants. We believe this occurs because they need more an ideology that justifies the system to trust the institutions. This phenomenon can prevent these people from pursuing structural social changes since the system is now seen as fair. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Psychological abuse is characterized by the degradation and control of the partner, disrespecting him. The objective was to gather evidence of validity of the scale of psychological abuse in the partner (EAP-P) in brazilian women. In study 1, 303 women participated and an exploratory factor analysis and internal consistency were performed. The findings corroborated a two-factor structure: direct PA strategiesandindirect PA strategies, with alphas equal to 0.92 and 0.89, respectively. In study 2, 380 women participated, performing a confirmatory analysis and evaluating the parameters of the items using the item response theory (IRT).The results showed better indices in the bifactor model, besides good indexes of composite reliability (0.90) and mean variance extracted (0.51 and 0.50) and through TRI, it was obtained that the items conform to the standard of response. The EAP-P was presented as a valid and consistent instrument to detect and measure psychological violence in women. How to cite: Paiva, T. T., Cavalcanti, J. G., & Lima. K. S. (2020). - Abstract
Self-efficacy in the use of condoms is related to health, especially in the prevention of sexually transmitted infections. This research sought to adapt the Condom Use Self-Efficacy Scale for the Brazil. For this, two studies were conducted through an online questionnaire. Study 1 had 332 participants from the general population; the majority of women (63.6%), with a mean age of 25.2 years (SD = 7.4). The exploratory factor analysis identified four factors: Ability, Assertiveness, Pleasure and Drugs and Sexually Transmitted Diseases, explaining 66.8% of the variance. Study 2 had 907 participants, with a mean age of 23.6 years (SD = 6.1). Confirmatory factor analysis corroborated the structure found: GFI = 0.93; CFI = 0.91; RMSEA = 0.08 (IC 90% = 0.07-0.09). The results proved the adequacy of the measure, gathering evidence of validity. The goal of this research was to adapt and obtain validity evidence of the Modern Homonegativity Scale (MHS), which is set by two parallel forms with 12 items, one of them referring to gays (MHS-G) and the other referring to lesbians (MHS-L). In the first study 418 heterosexuals between 18 and 58 years old (M = 24,9; SD = 7,23), mostly women (66,3%) living at João Pessoa-PB (50,5%) answered. Both scales have shown as unidimensional and containing a high degree of internal consistency. The second study had the participation of 273 heterosexuals between 18 and 55 years old (M = 23,7; SD = 6,33), mostly women (69%). The confirmatory factor analysis showed satisfactory adjustment indexes for the proposed model and the Item Response Theory (IRT) demonstrated a good degree of discrimination and variation of the difficulty parameters. Therefore, we may conclude MHS is psychometrically valid, easily applicable and can be used in research contexts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
