Abstract: In their Rejoinder [arXiv:1105.1316v1], Levin and Pakter repeat some of the points raised in their previous Comment [arXiv:1104.0697v1] (already refuted in our first Reply [arXiv:1104.5036v1]), and present some new ones concerning our recent publication [arXiv:1008.1421]. Their new criticisms are also refuted in the present Surrejoinder, whenever relevant for the results of our Letter. It is our understanding that, in their Comment and Rejoinder, Levin and Pakter do not provide any relevant contributions to the problem addressed in our previous work. Abstract: We show that the comment [arXiv:1104.0697] by Levin and Pakter on our work [arXiv:1008.1421] is conceptually unfounded, contains misleading interpretations, and is based on results of questionable applicability. We initially provide arguments to evince that, inexplicably, these authors simply choose to categorically dismiss our elaborated and solid conceptual approach, results and analysis, without employing any fundamental concepts or tools from Statistical Physics. We then demonstrate that the results of Levin and Pakter do not present any evidence against, but rather corroborates, our conclusions. In fact, the results shown in their comment correspond to a confining potential that is 1000 times stronger than the typical valued utilized in our study, therefore explaining the discrepancy between their results and ours. Furthermore, in this regime where higher vortex densities are involved, vortex cores might get so close to each other that can no longer be treated as point-like defects. As a consequence, Ginzburg-Landau equations should be employed instead, meaning that the physical conditions implied by the results of Levin and Pakter should be considered with caution in the context of the Physics of interacting superconducting vortexes., Comment: 3 pages, 1 figure

3. Thermostatistics of overdamped motion of interacting particles

Abstract: We show through a nonlinear Fokker-Planck formalism, and confirm by molecular dynamics simulations, that the overdamped motion of interacting particles at T=0, where T is the temperature of a thermal bath connected to the system, can be directly associated with Tsallis thermostatistics. For sufficiently high values of T, the distribution of particles becomes Gaussian, so that the classical Boltzmann-Gibbs behavior is recovered. For intermediate temperatures of the thermal bath, the system displays a mixed behavior that follows a novel type of thermostatistics, where the entropy is given by a linear combination of Tsallis and Boltzmann-Gibbs entropies., Comment: 4 pages, 2 figures

Abstract: [Abstract] Aims. This study aimed to assess age‐ and sex‐related differences in management and 1‐year risk for all‐cause mortality and hospitalization in chronic heart failure (HF) patients. Methods and results. Of 16 354 patients included in the European Society of Cardiology Heart Failure Long‐Term Registry, 9428 chronic HF patients were analysed [median age: 66 years; 28.5% women; mean left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) 37%]. Rates of use of guideline‐directed medical therapy (GDMT) were high (angiotensin‐converting enzyme inhibitors/angiotensin receptor blockers, beta‐blockers and mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists: 85.7%, 88.7% and 58.8%, respectively). Crude GDMT utilization rates were lower in women than in men (all differences: P ≤ 0.001), and GDMT use became lower with ageing in both sexes, at baseline and at 1‐year follow‐up. Sex was not an independent predictor of GDMT prescription; however, age >75 years was a significant predictor of GDMT underutilization. Rates of all‐cause mortality were lower in women than in men (7.1% vs. 8.7%; P = 0.015), as were rates of all‐cause hospitalization (21.9% vs. 27.3%; P < 0.001) and there were no differences in causes of death. All‐cause mortality and all‐cause hospitalization increased with greater age in both sexes. Sex was not an independent predictor of 1‐year all‐cause mortality (restricted to patients with LVEF ≤45%). Mortality risk was significantly lower in patients of younger age, compared to patients aged >75 years. Conclusions. There was a decline in GDMT use with advanced age in both sexes. Sex was not an independent predictor of GDMT or adverse outcomes. However, age >75 years independently predicted lower GDMT use and higher all‐cause mortality in patients with LVEF ≤45%.

Abstract: [Abstract] Aims. We assessed the interplay between hyperkalaemia (HK) and renin–angiotensin–aldosterone system inhibitor (RAASi) use, dose and discontinuation, and their association with all‐cause or cardiovascular death in patients with chronic heart failure (HF). We hypothesized that HK‐associated increased death may be related to RAASi withdrawal. Methods and results. The ESC‐HFA‐EORP Heart Failure Long‐Term Registry was used. Among 9222 outpatients (HF with reduced ejection fraction: 60.6%, HF with mid‐range ejection fraction: 22.9%, HF with preserved ejection fraction: 16.5%) from 31 countries, 16.6% had HK (≥5.0 mmol/L) at baseline. Angiotensin‐converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEi) or angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) was used in 88.3%, a mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist (MRA) in 58.7%, or a combination in 53.2%; of these, at ≥50% of target dose in ACEi: 61.8%; ARB: 64.7%; and MRA: 90.3%. At a median follow‐up of 12.2 months, there were 789 deaths (8.6%). Both hypokalaemia and HK were independently associated with higher mortality, and ACEi/ARB prescription at baseline with lower mortality. MRA prescription was not retained in the model. In multivariable analyses, HK at baseline was independently associated with MRA non‐prescription at baseline and subsequent discontinuation. When considering subsequent discontinuation of RAASi (instead of baseline use), HK was no longer found associated with all‐cause deaths. Importantly, all RAASi (ACEi, ARB, or MRA) discontinuations were strongly associated with mortality. Conclusions. In HF, hyper‐ and hypokalaemia were associated with mortality. However, when adjusting for RAASi discontinuation, HK was no longer associated with mortality, suggesting that HK may be a risk marker for RAASi discontinuation rather than a risk factor for worse outcomes. Abstract: Scientific communication is facilitated by a data-driven, scientifically sound taxonomy that considers the end-user¿s needs and established successful practice. In 2013, the Fusarium community voiced near unanimous support for a concept of Fusarium that represented a clade comprising all agriculturally and clinically important Fusarium species, including the F. solani species complex (FSSC). Subsequently, this concept was challenged in 2015 by one research group who proposed dividing the genus Fusarium into seven genera, including the FSSC described as members of the genus Neocosmospora, with subsequent justification in 2018 based on claims that the 2013 concept of Fusarium is polyphyletic. Here, we test this claim and provide a phylogeny based on exonic nucleotide sequences of 19 orthologous protein-coding genes that strongly support the monophyly of Fusarium including the FSSC. We reassert the practical and scientific argument in support of a genus Fusarium that includes the FSSC and several other basal lineages, consistent with the longstanding use of this name among plant pathologists, medical mycologists, quarantine officials, regulatory agencies, students, and researchers with a stake in its taxonomy. In recognition of this monophyly, 40 species described as genus Neocosmospora were recombined in genus Fusarium, and nine others were renamed Fusarium. Here the global Fusarium community voices strong support for the inclusion of the FSSC in Fusarium, as it remains the best scientific, nomenclatural, and practical taxonomic option available

Abstract: [Abstract] Aims: Classification of acute heart failure (AHF) patients into four clinical profiles defined by evidence of congestion and perfusion is advocated by the 2016 European Society of Cardiology (ESC)guidelines. Based on the ESC-EORP-HFA Heart Failure Long-Term Registry, we compared differences in baseline characteristics, in-hospital management and outcomes among congestion/perfusion profiles using this classification. Methods and results: We included 7865 AHF patients classified at admission as: 'dry-warm' (9.9%), 'wet-warm' (69.9%), 'wet-cold' (19.8%) and 'dry-cold' (0.4%). These groups differed significantly in terms of baseline characteristics, in-hospital management and outcomes. In-hospital mortality was 2.0% in 'dry-warm', 3.8% in 'wet-warm', 9.1% in 'dry-cold' and 12.1% in 'wet-cold' patients. Based on clinical classification at admission, the adjusted hazard ratios (95% confidence interval) for 1-year mortality were: 'wet-warm' vs. 'dry-warm' 1.78 (1.43-2.21) and 'wet-cold' vs. 'wet-warm' 1.33 (1.19-1.48). For profiles resulting from discharge classification, the adjusted hazard ratios (95% confidence interval) for 1-year mortality were: 'wet-warm' vs. 'dry-warm' 1.46 (1.31-1.63) and 'wet-cold' vs. 'wet-warm' 2.20 (1.89-2.56). Among patients discharged alive, 30.9% had residual congestion, and these patients had higher 1-year mortality compared to patients discharged without congestion (28.0 vs. 18.5%). Tricuspid regurgitation, diabetes, anaemia and high New York Heart Association class were independently associated with higher risk of congestion at discharge, while beta-blockers at admission, de novo heart failure, or any cardiovascular procedure during hospitalization were associated with lower risk of residual congestion. Conclusion: Classification based on congestion/perfusion status provides clinically relevant information at hospital admission and discharge. A better understanding of the clinical course of the two entities could play an important role towards the implementation of targeted strategies that may improve outcomes.

Abstract: The present work reports about experimental procedures to correct significant deviations of magnetization data, caused by magnetic relaxation, due to small field cycling by sample transport in the inhomogeneous applied magnetic field of commercial magnetometers. The extensively used method for measuring the magnetic irreversibility by first cooling the sample in zero field, switching on a constant applied magnetic field and measuring the magnetization M(T) while slowly warming the sample, and subsequently measuring M(T) while slowly cooling it back in the same field, is very sensitive even to small displacement of the magnetization curve. In our melt-processed YBaCuO superconducting sample we observed displacements of the irreversibility limit up to 7K in high fields. Such displacements are detected only on confronting the magnetic irreversibility limit with other measurements, like for instance zero resistance, in which the sample remains fixed and so is not affected by such relaxation. We measured the magnetic irreversibility, Tirr(H), using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) from Quantum Design. The zero resistance data, Tc0(H), were obtained using a PPMS from Quantum Design. On confronting our irreversibility lines with those of zero resistance, we observed that the Tc0(H) data fell several degrees K above the Tirr(H) data, which obviously contradicts the well known properties of superconductivity. In order to get consistent Tirr(H) data in the H–T plane, it was necessary to do a lot of additional measurements as a function of the amplitude of the sample transport and extrapolate the Tirr(H) data for each applied field to zero amplitude.

Abstract: Aim: To evaluate the influence of powder-to-gel ratio (0.19 g powder to 50 μL of gel, thick MTA Flow, and 0.06 g powder to 50 μL of gel, fluid MTA Flow) on biocompatibility of MTA Flow (Ultradent Products Inc., South Jordan, UT, USA, lot: 2015122901) and compare it with Biodentine (Septodont Inc., Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, France, lot: B18542A)., Methodology: The materials were manipulated and inserted into polyethylene tubes for implantation in twenty rats. After 7, 15, 30 and 60 days, the specimens were removed and embedded in paraffin. Haematoxylin and eosin sections were used to count the number of inflammatory cells (IC) and fibroblasts mm -2 (Fb). In the Masson's trichrome-stained sections, the fibrous capsule thickness was measured; picrosirius red-stained sections were used for birefringent collagen quantification. The data were submitted to two-way ANOVA and Tukey test (P ≤ 0.05)., Results: A significantly lower number of IC and consequently higher number of Fb were observed in the capsules adjacent to thick MTA Flow at all periods, in comparison with other materials (P ≤ 0.05). At 60 days, the quantity of birefringent collagen was significantly greater in the tissue in contact with thick MTA Flow, when compared with fluid MTA Flow and Biodentine., Conclusions: Although thick MTA Flow induced a less intense inflammatory response, all evaluated materials are biocompatible because they allowed regression of this process after 60 days., (© 2018 International Endodontic Journal. Abstract: Chili pepper (Capsicum chinense) is a great economic important culture on the State of Amazonas, and it represents, approximately, a production of 1.9 thousand tons per year. It is one of the hosts of Colletotrichum genus in the North region of Brazil. The aim of the study was to differentiate and to identify isolates of Colletotrichum collected from C. chinense in Amazon. Molecular characterization, using RFLP-PCR, ERIC-PCR and ISSR, was carried out initially for screening of morphologically similar isolates. Furthermore, phylogenetic analyses were performed using combined regions: Actin (ACT), glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) for the three isolates, INPA 2066, INPA 2286 and INPA 1858, plus superoxide dismutase (SOD2) for INPA 2066. We showed that the molecular markers were able to distinguish the isolates of Colletotrichum studied and these results were confirmed with the phylogenetic analyses, three different occurrences of Colletotrichum species (C. siamense, C. scovillei and C. brevisporum) causing anthracnose in C. chinense in the State of Amazonas. This study represents the first report of the species C. siamense and C. scovillei in this host in Brazil.

39. Impacts of stocking on the genetic diversity of Colossoma macropomum in central Amazon, Brazil.

Abstract: Tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) is the main fish species farmed on a commercial scale in northern Brazil. In view of the current scenario of Brazilian aquaculture, studies on the genetic improvement and reproductive management of captive tambaqui are crucial in identifying the genetic variability of broodstocks and devising management practices. Genetic diversity of three tambaqui broodstocks in western Amazon was evaluated using molecular markers. Fin samples were collected from 89 fish; 38 from Balbina, 30 from a hatchery in Rio Preto da Eva, and 21 from the experimental farm of the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM). Ten primers were used for the analysis of diversity and genetic structure. Of the 152 bands produced, 146 were polymorphic. The proportion of polymorphic loci showed little variation among the three stocks. The lowest and highest rates were found in the Rio Preto da Eva (80.92%) and Balbina (85.53%) stocks, respectively. Heterozygosity (H) and Shannon (I) indices were similar among the stocks; the lowest values were found in Balbina (H = 0.279 and I = 0.419), and the highest in UFAM (H = 0.294 and I = 0.439). Following analysis of the genetic structure and relationship, the sample was divided into two groups, with the Balbina stock clearly deviating from the others. The results suggest that, to increase genetic variability, molecular information may be used instead of replacement of wild breeders. The groups characterized here can be used in genetic improvement programs with other tambaqui broodstocks from different areas of South America.

Abstract: Lasiodiplodia theobromae is a major pathogen of many different crop cultures, including cashew nut plants. This paper describes an efficient Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation (ATMT) system for the successful delivery of T-DNA, transferring the genes of green fluorescent protein (gfp) and hygromycin B phosphotransferase (hph) to L. theobromae. When the fungal pycnidiospores were co-cultured with A. tumefaciens harboring the binary vector with hph-gfp gene, hygromycin-resistant fungus only developed with acetosyringone supplementation. The cashew plants inoculated with the fungus expressing GFP revealed characteristic pathogen colonization by epifluorescence microscopy. Intense and bright green hyphae were observed for transformants in all extensions of mycelium cultures. The penetration of parenchyma cells near to the inoculation site, beneath the epicuticle surface, was observed prior to 25 dpi. Penetration was followed by the development of hyphae within invaded host cells. These findings provide a rapid and reproducible ATMT method for L. theobromae transformation.

Abstract: We report an unusual case of a 39-years-old male patient, with previous inferior and anterior non Q wave myocardial infarctions, in whom the coronary arteriography showed an arteriovenous fistula between the left anterior descending coronary artery and the pulmonary artery, without any other coronary lesions. We make a revision of this disease and discuss the mechanisms of ischemia.
