This study had the objective to characterize the systematization of research output in perioperative nursing care of the last 10 years. An integrative review of the literature was performed by searching data bases of virtual health library, indexed in the following electronic resources: BDENf, LILACS, SciELO and magazine SOBECC. Data were collected during April and May 2014. 10 articles that met our criteria for selection were used. Critical analyzes of the results of each article were related to guiding questions proposed at the beginning of this research. Several factors that influence the implementation of SAEP were identified. The main problems were: lack of training, lack of knowledge, lack of preparation of the professional related to your academic background, work overload due to dual function to provide direct management and support services for patients and reduced number of technical employees. The facilities and conveniences were: knowing and understanding the patient, directing the organization and execution of the performance of teamwork, improve multidisciplinary communication in search of a better resolution of problems related to patients. Therefore, this work comes to propose new practices and contribute to the process of teaching-learning enabling new methods of care in the context of perioperative nursing care. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
