AbstractCredo Reference is a subscription based online reference center published by Infobase. Access to content depends on subscriptions purchased. Additional databases and backfiles are available to add to the standard packages. Credo is integrated with an institution’s discovery system and library catalog to provide accessible results. Credo’s easy to use interface and diverse formats make this an ideal reference and research one stop for beginners and novices alike. This review will assess Credo’s content (both public and subscription based), the site’s layout and navigation, and using its basic and advanced search functions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The CREDO-Maze project is the concept for a network of stations recording local, extensive cosmic ray air showers. Each station consists of four small scintillation detectors and a control unit that monitors the cosmic ray flux 24 h a day and transmits the results to the central server. The modular design of each array allows the results to be used in educational classes on nuclear radiation, relativistic physics, and particle physics and as a teaching aid in regular school classrooms and more. As an example, we present here some preliminary results from the CREDO-Maze muon telescope missions to the Arctic and down into a deep salt mine, as well as the first shower-particle correlation measurements from a table-top experiment at Walailak University. These experiments show that the different geometric configurations of the CREDO-Maze detector set can be used for projects beyond the scope of the secondary school curriculum, and they can form the basis of student theses and dissertations at universities. Teamwork and effective communication between all health care staff members are essential to providing safe, high‐quality patient care. High‐reliability organizations align behavioral expectations with organizational values and prioritize safety over other performance metrics and pressures. Communication breakdowns, such as inadequate or incomplete information shared between caregivers, continues to be an issue that is linked to errors and staff member dissatisfaction. Initiatives to improve health care communication and improve patient outcomes are well documented, yet communication issues in the health care setting continue. An organization's credo defines its values and behavioral expectations. Educating team members on an organization's credo creates accountability among those teams to align their behavior with the organization's values, policies, and professional commitment. When in philosophy, psychoanalytic theory or the Eastern wisdom tradition, one speaks of ‘self-realization’ (or ‘self-actualization’, Maslow 1982), the entity ‘ego’ (from where we usually derive ‘egoism’ and all its negative connotations) is considered as something that, if we want to progress in the „freedom from-freedom to“ dialectics (Fromm 1941), it is necessary to either, philosophicaly speaking, ‘overcome’ or, through the means of available ‘spiritual practices’, annihilate (in the sense of ‘nirvana’; sanskr.: ‘extinction’). In this way, due to the ambiguity of the term ‘ego’ and linguistic poverty caused synonymization with ‘self’, we inevitably end up in a mental contradiction and, as a result, we give up on praxis. In this paper (which is part of a wider research on philosophical anthropology of Erich Fromm), some of the possible exit directions from one of the ‘aporias of the psyche’, are sketched only.

Objective: Acute ischemic stroke (AIS) is a leading cause of death, but isolated middle cerebral artery dissection (MCAD) is rarely reported. The aim of this article is to sum up the current information on this pathology and to explore the technical aspects of its endovascular treatment with emphasis on novel coated, antithrombogenic stents and antiplatelet management. Another part of this article offers our experience with the problematics represented by a small sample group of patients with an MCAD diagnosis who were treated in our center. Methods: We conducted literature research and a retrospective review of patients treated for anterior circulation AIS at our comprehensive stroke center from January 2022 to March 2024. The cohort included 16 patients diagnosed with isolated MCAD, 9 received antithrombogenic coated stents, while 7 received bare metal stents. Pharmacological management of coated stents involved the use of Cangrelor for acute antiplatelet therapy, transitioning to oral Ticagrelor. Results: Among the 16 patients treated, those with antithrombogenic coated stents showed no major complications and had a lower incidence of intracranial hemorrhage compared to the bare metal stent group. The average National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score at discharge improved in both groups. Functional outcomes and mortality rates were slightly better in the coated stent group, but no statistical significance was proven. Conclusions: Antithrombogenic coated stents, in conjunction with MAPT, demonstrated a safe and effective option for treating isolated MCAD. These stents offer promising potential for improved outcomes and reduced complications compared to traditional treatments. Представлены авторские предположения относительно причин вероятного роста интереса к методическому кредо в современной отечественной педагогической науке.

Although Sūrat al-Ikhlāṣ (Q 112) is one of the shortest sūrahs of the Qurʾān, it has led to an extensive commentary on its structure and content in Muslim exegetical literature and in Western scholarship. This article takes the recent attempt to contextualize the sūrah in Western scholarship as a starting point and proposes new evidence for the nature of the religious milieu that shaped its form and content. Formålet med lærerspesialistordningen og utdanningen var å gi lærere faglige utviklingsmuligheter og å styrke det kollektive profesjonsfellesskapet. I denne artikkelen løfter vi frem hvordan ti lærerspesialiststudenter i kroppsøving reflekterer over profesjonsutvikling og profesjonsfellesskap. Empirien er studentenes eksamenstekster. Vi analyserer tekstene med utgangspunkt i Hargreaves og Fullans forståelse av sosial kapital.Studien viser hvordan informantene vektlegger profesjonsfellesskapet ved sin egen skole og lærerspesialiststudiet som sentralt for profesjonsutviklingen, men at de opplever ulik grad av støtte fra ledelsen og fagkollegaene på skolen. Flere av informantene savner bedre strukturer for å sikre kroppsøvingslærerne et refleksjonsfellesskap som kan bidra til profesjonsutvikling.Et hovedfunn er at lærerspesialiststudiet har blitt opplevd som et faglig utviklende refleksjonsfellesskap der nye faglige perspektiver ble tatt i bruk for å reflektere over problemstillinger knyttet til studentenes profesjonsutøvelse. Det kan ha bidratt til å styrke den samlede sosiale kapital knyttet til kroppsøving på den enkelte skole.

Este artículo analiza las “palabras sobre Dios” de cinco comunidades eclesiales periféricas de Medellín, a través de un método hermenéutico y etnográfico. Lo anterior se desarrolla en dos momentos; el primero, caracteriza la población sujeto y objeto de estudio; y el segundo, identifica las visiones y atributos de Dios que estas personas poseen desde la experiencia de lo religioso. Se concluye que la mayoría de las personas que participaron del estudio suponen la existencia de Dios, lo conciben como un ser personal, eterno, espiritual y supremo. En sus afirmaciones se evidencia la influencia de una visión trinitaria de la divinidad que implica un acto de confianza. Dios, en ese contexto, es sobre todo poderoso, actúa y crea. En la manifestación de la experiencia de las personas no se percibe una diferencia conceptual en relación con la visión de Dios que profesa el cristianismo; y aunque hay un uso del lenguaje tradicional para referirse a los contenidos de la fe, no es sencilla la manera en que comprenden y explican cada uno de ellos. Lo anterior tiene una incidencia en las prácticas eclesiales.

Ratzinger’s early work Introduction to Christianity presents an attempt at rational understanding of what theology considers to be crucial for Christianity and what should be thought over in the context of the (then) new challenges. The open character of the book can be understood in light of the fact that anthropological discourse was already well established in post-Council theology. For Ratzinger, this seems to be connected with a necessity to outline clear contours for Christianity. The book is one of the author’s significant works with a wide impact, and which also represents Ratzinger’s way of thinking in its relation to philosophical thought. The title of this contribution is also its point: Ratzinger’s book offers a certain interpretation of Christianity and provides at the same time a sort of defence of Christianity against a never-ending chain of interpretations. It is just that which should be subjected to interpretation.

Increased charter school demand creates a critical need for reliable information on outcomes. Stanford's Center for Research on Education Outcomes (CREDO) has a series of influential reports on charter schools using the virtual control record (VCR) method. However, the VCR method has been criticized and the validity of CREDO's findings challenged, leading to confusion among stakeholders. In this paper, we synthesize charter school evaluation literature, explain CREDO's methods as well as other evaluation methods, and consider the limitations of matching in this context. We find that, while the matching techniques are imperfect, they provide necessary information on the greatest percentage of charter school students. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article describes the development, design, and upcoming construction and deployment of core modules of DUCK (Detector system of Unusual Cosmic-ray casKades), a cosmic-rays detector system aimed to verify and further study the latest advances in the cosmic-rays field and participate in the international collaborations searching for new types of events. The primary scientific goal for the DUCK project will be an independent verification of the detection of ‘unusual’ cosmic ray events by the Horizon-T detector system. A detailed study of events of this type is a vital step towards understanding the nature of cosmic rays, their origins, and details of interaction with the nuclei in the atmosphere. Further operations as part of the CREDO collaboration will contribute to the continued monitoring of the cosmic events. Additional intellectual value includes the design of the fast detection system with high timing resolution for cosmic events detection and the study of the temporal structure of extensive air showers that would also contribute to the current simulations. All the steps are conducted with student involvement and advance excellence in providing students with real research experience and competitive knowledge.

In the time when new evangelisation is increasingly discussed, the author of this article directs his gaze towards the beginnings of the Church and the first kerygma, whose meaning and importance he presents in three parts. The first part presents the context in which the Early Christianity found itself and in which it tried to transmit the»memories of apostles«. Inculturation begins with preaching that brings a new turnabout. The first Christian invested, perhaps more than any other after him/her, immense efforts into proclaiming the kerygma: he/she suffered from the lack of freedom, lack of members, lack of strictly theological formation, lack of support by society, lack of means of communication. The kerygmatic effort of the Early Church has suffered from these lacks, but it has abounded in the Spirit and the testimony of faith about realities that can hardly be put into words and defined. The second part follows the proclamation of the»memory of apostles«or the Gospel from dialogue to the Credo. Dialogue with the world is led by courageous Christians, apostolic fathers, apologetes, and church fathers in general. The author focuses especially on apologetes that opened up the dialogue with enemies and those who thought differently. Many of apologetes found themselves on a hard terrain that was cultivated with great efforts, personal inspiration, and courage. They had countless interlocutors among Jews, pagans, Christians, and heretics. The result of tiresome and long-lasting dialogue was the official definition of proclaimed contents of faith, formed in the Credo. The third part points out the ultimate goal of kerygma, that is, the renewal of the Church and society. The renewal is achieved through conversion as a new way of living in relation to God and other people. It permeates the whole person and is followed by God's activity. This final part of the article, therefore, puts an emphasis on the caritative dimension of the Church that finds its foundational point for this dimension in the Eucharistic communion. This article explores Karl Barth’s exegesis of the ‘sepultus est…’ from the Apostles’ Creed, as articulated in his 1935 Credo lectures. I argue that Barth accords the sepultus a degree of theological significance that is against the grain, not only of the majority of western interpretations of Jesus’s burial, but also of his own later interpretation of it within his Kirchliche Dogmatik. Specifically, this article argues that in his 1935 lectures, Barth exegetes the sepultus in terms of a divine self-surrender to the ‘pure pastness’ that is the ‘state and fate’ of all humanity. As a consequence, the sepultus can then be used as the pivot to a different, and more hopeful, future.

We describe a pilot of the Clinical REsearch During Outbreaks (CREDO) initiative, a training curriculum for researchers in epidemic-prone low- and middle-income countries who may respond to disease outbreaks. The Cosmic Ray Extremely Distributed Observatory (CREDO) is an international research consortium aimed at observing high energy cosmic ray particles. The associated Android/iOS application enables the registration of muons with smartphone devices. The ubiquity of the CREDO infrastructure entails virtually no control over the detectors' working conditions. In order to tag artefacts appearing in the CREDO database, we propose a Siamese spiking neural network (SNN) model, trained by optimizing Earth Mover's Distance (EMD) between spike train outputs of the SNN. We first test the feasibility of our approach by training models on MNIST images converted into the spiking domain with novel conversion schemes. Then, on a binary classification problem of signal/artefact discrimination on CREDO images our model has achieved a class-balanced accuracy of 96.35%, close to the existing non-spiking solutions. Notably, the model has shown adaptability to input data properties in terms of the spiking network activity sparsity and prediction latency. • A training scheme for multilayer siamese spiking neural networks is proposed. • Models trained end-to-end in the spiking domain with backpropagation. • Model performance evaluation conducted for data with various degrees of sparsity. • Models trained with sparse data exhibit sparse neural activations and lower latency. • Observed sparsity and latency properties held true across tested output layer sizes. Introduction The Clinical Rotation Evaluation and Documentation Organizer (CREDO) is an electronic medical record (EMR) system created by the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM). International healthcare providers who partner with VCOM can gain access to CREDO and input their patient data. The objective of this study was to determine the frequency of urinary tract infection (UTI) diagnoses and prescription use over a one-year period in three Latin American countries. Methods Researchers analyzed the frequency of UTI diagnosis with corresponding prescription recommendations over a 12-month period in three Latin American countries (i.e., Dominican Republic, El Salvador, and Honduras) that utilize the CREDO system. For each month between May 2021 and May 2022, the total number of UTI diagnosis codes and prescription codes were summed, graphed, and analyzed. Results In El Salvador, there were 142 UTIs and 126 corresponding prescriptions written for UTIs reported from May 2021 to May 2022 but diagnoses were not consistent each month. Ciprofloxacin was prescribed most frequently at a rate of 43.7% in El Salvador. In Honduras, there were 68 UTIs and 68 corresponding prescriptions written for the UTIs reported from May 2021 until May 2022 with Ciprofloxacin being prescribed most frequently at a rate of 39.7%. Again, diagnosis frequency was not consistent each month. In the Dominican Republic, there were 42 UTIs and 14 corresponding prescriptions written for those UTIs reported, however, data only reflected two months' worth of UTI diagnoses from May 2021 to May 2022. Fosfomycin was prescribed most frequently at a rate of 61.5%.  Conclusion: The findings above suggest that there are inconsistent UTI reports throughout the year with a varied use of antibiotics prescriptions for UTIs. The discovered discrepancies in disease reporting, or lack thereof of reporting, and prescription recommendation suggest inconsistent reporting in CREDO. For the first time in history, the United States surpassed 100 000 overdose-related deaths in a 12-month period, driven by synthetic opioids such as fentanyl. Also, for the first time, potential chemical weapons are readily available on the streets and the dark web. Opioids represent a rare trifecta, used for licit pain management, as an illicit drug of abuse, and with potential use as a weapon of terror. Community-based Response to Drug Overdose (CReDO) is an initiative to unite agencies, disciplines, government, and private partners in 1 coordinated opioid emergencies response plan under nationwide standards, and can be integrated into the disaster medicine discipline due to the risk of mass casualty incidents involving fentanyl or its derivatives. Attention to the opioid crisis through CReDO will save lives by promoting information sharing between disciplines, shortened response time to overdose clusters, community collaboration to identify criminal distribution networks, and holistic approaches to addiction.

The nature of and criteria for dogmatic hymns. Three versifications by Schutte (A.G.S.) Venter In this article the nature of dogmatic hymns is discussed and it is indicated how dogmatic hymns have functioned during the course of church history. Taking this investigation as point of departure, criteria are formulated to be used in the evaluation of dogmatic hymns – also in the evaluation of the contents of three versifications by Schutte Venter. The 2000 Synod of the Reformed Churches in South Africa discussed the possibility of and need for dogmatic hymns, and took notice of some guidelines in this regard. Schutte Venter consequently versified sections of the confessions of faith and formulae for wedding ceremonies in an attempt to meet this need.

The article is an examination of Basil’s teaching about faith and its impor­tance in his large correspondence. The bishop of Caesarea describes faith as the acceptance of the Gospel, the conviction of the truth of the message, a confession of one’s belief in the Trinity. The Cappadocian emphasizes faith as an accep­tance and conviction of the truth which comes from the inspired Scriptures and the teaching of the Nicaea. The confession of faith formulated by the Council of Nicaea constituted the essence of the truth of the Christian faith. The bishop of Caesarea indicates the importance of the baptismal formula for the formula­tion of the true Christian doctrine. During the baptismal rite the baptizand makes their confession of faith and is thus admitted into the community of the faithful. Basil’s teaching of initiation into the Christian mistery is dominated by his use of the word mean the apostolic doctrines which constitute what the „Great Church” taught and believed. The Cappadocian points to the danger of false and heretical assemblies (parasynagogues) and of the false teachers of the faith. It is presented as a way of knowing God. There is also one important emphasis in Basil’s thought which especially characterizes his view of the human steps in the concrete realiza­tion of it: the knowledge of God and faith in Him is manifested in love to God and one’s neighbor.
