Background: Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is a prevalent anxiety disorder characterized by uncontrollable worry, trouble sleeping, muscle tension, and irritability. Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is one of the first-line treatments that has demonstrated high efficacy in reducing symptoms of anxiety. Electronically delivered CBT (e-CBT) has been a promising adaptation of in-person treatment, showing comparable efficacy with increased accessibility and scalability. Finding further scalable interventions that can offer benefits to patients requiring less intensive interventions can allow for better resource allocation. Some studies have indicated that weekly check-ins can also lead to improvements in GAD symptoms. However, there is a lack of research exploring the potential benefits of online check-ins for patients with GAD. Objective: This study aims to investigate the effects of weekly online asynchronous check-ins on patients diagnosed with GAD and compare it with a group receiving e-CBT. Methods: Participants (n e-CBT = 45; n check-in = 51) with GAD were randomized into either an e-CBT or a mental health check-in program for 12 weeks. Participants in the e-CBT program completed pre-designed modules and homework assignments through a secure online delivery platform where they received personalized feedback from a trained care provider. Participants in the mental health check-in condition had weekly asynchronous messaging communication with a care provider where they were asked structured questions with a different weekly theme to encourage conversation. Results: Both treatments demonstrated statistically significant reductions in GAD—7-item questionnaire (GAD-7) scores over time, but when comparing the groups there was no significant difference between the treatments. The number of participants who dropped out and baseline scores on all questionnaires were comparable for both groups. Conclusions: The findings support the effectiveness of e-CBT and mental health check-ins for the treatment of GAD. Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a common psychotherapy used for GAD since it has been shown to reduce symptoms. However, traditional CBT that is in person can have barriers such as being inaccessible and costly, and therefore electronically delivered CBT (e-CBT) is a viable alternative since previous studies have shown its efficacy in reducing symptoms and being similar compared to face-to-face CBT. Previous studies have also shown reductions in GAD symptomology through the use of checking in on people and their mental health. Therefore, this study aimed to compare e-CBT to a check-in condition and had a total of 45 individuals in e-CBT and 51 participants in the check-in condition. Participants in the e-CBT condition completed 12 weeks of predesigned e-CBT modules, homework and received personalized feedback from a care provider. In contrast, individuals in the check-in condition completed 12 weeks of unstructured asynchronous messaging with a care provider. Results from the study showed that both the e-CBT and check-in condition demonstrated statistically significant improvements in GAD-7 across time, but when comparing the groups there was no significant difference. As úlceras de pressão representam um problema de alta relevância na prática médica. Os pacientes acometidos apresentam pior evolução clínica, exigindo maior tempo de internamento e gerando maiores custos. Este artigo de revisão tem por objetivo apresentar e discutir, com base em evidências científicas, as medidas que visam à prevenção das úlceras de pressão. As recomendações incluídas neste artigo são baseadas em dados extraídos a partir de revisão bibliográfica de livros técnicos e artigos científicos obtidos nas seguintes bases de dados: 1. PubMed, 2. SciELO e 3. UpToDate Inc. Foram priorizados artigos publicados nos últimos cinco anos e eles foram avaliados criticamente, de modo a objetivar a certificação de que os métodos e os resultados apresentados eram válidos. Os pesquisadores incluíram, ainda, no estudo outros artigos consagrados pela literatura, com data de publicação superior a cinco anos, cujos dados foram analisados criticamente de modo a somente incluir informações atemporais.

As estatais foram criadas para viabilizar a participação direta do Estado na economia, assumindo forma similar às empresas privadas. Nesse contexto, o estudo tem como objetivo analisar a adoção das práticas de governança em instituições financeiras brasileiras controladas pelo Estado. A população do estudo são as estatais brasileiras que desenvolvem a atividade bancária: Banco da Amazônia, Banco do Brasil, Banco do Nordeste, Banco Nacional do Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social e Caixa Econômica Federal. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam que as estatais financeiras apresentam alto grau das boas práticas de governança. Constatou-se que o grau de adoção das práticas recomendadas para o setor público pelo Tribunal de Contas da União é uniforme entre as estatais federais de atuação financeira. De modo geral, esta pesquisa busca contribuir para ampliar o campo do conhecimento científico sobre as práticas de gestão e o atendimento às recomendações do controle estatal relativas à governança em organizações que contemplam majoritariamente capital público e que atuam na atividade empresarial.

This article conducts a 20-year review of studies investigating the utilization of artificial intelligence in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) system control, with a particular focus on automotive HVAC systems, renowned for their unique challenges due to the highly dynamic nature of automotive cabins. Artificial neural networks (ANNs) provide adaptive modeling and control capabilities to enhance energy efficiency, thermal comfort, and air quality in HVAC systems. Nevertheless, ANNs exhibit limitations, primarily their performance being constrained by training data, impeding adaptability to unforeseen scenarios. To overcome these constraints, researchers have explored hybrid approaches that integrate ANNs with PID (Proportional, Integral, and Derivative) or PI (Proportional and Integral) algorithms, resulting in systems referred to as Neuro-PID or Neuro-PI. These systems can effectively handle unanticipated situations by absorbing errors introduced by ANNs. Nonetheless, the applicability of Neuro-PID varies depending on the specific system. It becomes infeasible in scenarios with substantial delays, prompting the choice of the appropriate approach based on the controllability factor, a ratio between system delay and time constant. A controllability factor less than 2 indicates the suitability of employing ANNs for PID controller tuning. Furthermore, the intricate interaction between temperature and humidity in HVAC control systems diminishes the effectiveness of traditional PID. To proficiently regulate both variables, a viable alternative is the amalgamation of ANNs with specific control logic or the deployment of distinct ANN algorithms for varying scenarios. The heightened variability and unpredictability within automotive HVAC systems, driven by continuous vehicle movement and door/window operations, present additional challenges. In such contexts, reinforcement learning techniques have found application, allowing systems to dynamically adapt to unforeseen events. In summary, the choice of HVAC control approach hinges on the primary goal—thermal comfort or specific variable control—as well as the system's noise level, controllability factor, and system nature. The article studies selective homicide, a modality of urban violence and its related forms in the district of Buenaventura between 2000. and 2015. The methodology was mixed, based on aggregated databases of the National Center for Historical Memory (CNMH, for its acronym in Spanish) and the documentary prepared with local, regional, and national press. The results show the prevalence of selective homicide against members of organizations and social leaders, retaliation between armed groups, and organized crime related to illicit crops and common crime. Between 2002 and 2005, it was more intense, and massacres and disappearances were higher between 2006 and 2010. By way of conclusion, selective killing is linked to illegal activities, political interests, and the actions of armed groups of different kinds, as expressions of power towards individuals with social identities and their organizations seen as adversaries. Improper inhalation technique (IT) is associated with uncontrolled asthma. Continuous training improves IT. The objective was to evaluate IT of patients who had incorrectly demonstrated IT in a previous study (E1), carrying out a new cross-sectional study (E2) with patients who had incorrect IT in E1, carried out 30 months earlier, in the same place, where IT is oriented in every medical appointment. Questionnaire filled out with sociodemographic data, assessment of control using the Asthma Control Test, type of inhalation device (ID) in use, time of use and existence of medical instructions for use. IT was considered correct when all stages of use were carried out properly, according to the medication leaflets. 31 (72.1%) patients from E1 were included. Seventeen (54.8%) used dry powder inhalers (DPI) and 14 (45.2%) metered dose inhlaers (MDI). Fifteen (48.4%) had controlled asthma. All received guidance on how to use their IDs and 21 (67.7%) had been using them for at least 2 years. Twenty-one (67.7%) presented the IT incorrectly. Eight of 17 (47.1%) DPI users and 2 (14.3%) MDI users had the correct IT (p=0.049). IT training gradually improves its quality, but this process is slow. Este texto busca discutir a política de avaliação instituída a partir do Plano de Desenvolvimento da Educação – PDE que considerou o Índice de Desenvolvimento da Educação Básica – IDEB, como um mensurador de qualidade educacional, e como este reverbera no cotidiano escolar e das pesquisas educacionais no âmbito das universidades. Nesse sentido, incialmente buscou-se nos documentos oficiais a compreensão do modo como essa política foi gestada e implantada na educação brasileira; em seguida por meio das contribuições analíticas de Saviani (2009); Richter; Souza (2015); Freitas (2016); Bertagna; Melo (2020); e Richter Vieira (2021) procedeu-se uma discussão sobre os significados e implicações desse modelo de política nas escolas; e por fim, através de uma busca no indexador Redalyc selecionou-se os artigos publicados nos últimos 05 anos, na tentativa de compreender o modo como as pesquisas tem se apresentado no âmbito acadêmico. Como conclusão aponta-se que esse modelo de política tem trazido para a escola a responsabilização pelos resultados, fragmentação do trabalho didático pedagógico dos professores, mudanças no currículo, e, portanto, um distanciamento de um ensino emancipador, sendo substituído pela busca de resultados nos testes padronizados.

This article proposes to investigate care and control in the relationship between adult and child, considering the crossings of the time and the alterity in the contemporary Western scenario. To make this investigation viable, the Laplanchean perspective is evoked in dialogue with other authors, using the psychoanalytic research method. In accordance with this perspective, the child is, from the beginning, confronted by an adult sexual world full of meanings and messages that exceed its capacities for apprehension and control. The destinations for the drive that the child builds are based on this encounter and on the care that the adult offers it. It is considered that the exercise of care and the exercise of control, which is related to it, presuppose a relationship model based on the otherness. In addition, the care demands a complex and indeterminate time from the adult to elaborate the affections produced by the encounter with the child. However, some aspects of the contemporaneity, such as the individualism and the suppression of the temporal dimension, seem to go against the grain of the time and the alteritarian bonds demanded by this practice. Faced with this apparent "disagreement" between the care that children need and certain characteristics of contemporaneity, it is proposed to discuss possible modalities of control in the adult-child relationship that can be disarticulated from the care and put at the service of the maintaining a contemporary "civilized" sexual morality. Os ouvidores, magistrados de segunda instância na América portuguesa, tinham entre suas funções realizar missões itinerantes de carácter judicial e administrativo no território de sua jurisdição (as comarcas). Este artigo dará destaque a este último, quer dizer, às visitas feitas aos oficiais das vilas e cidades que resultavam na elaboração de instruções visando a melhoria do governo local. Entretanto, a análise desta documentação, pouco investigada até hoje, permite indagar se, além de corrigir, tais visitas tinham ou não uma natureza punitiva, o que nos coloca novas perguntas sobre a autonomia dos agentes locais no império português, particularmente no Brasil, dos séculos XVII-XVIII.

Resumo O espraiamento recente das plataformas digitais tem provocado novas dinâmicas da relação entre trabalho e cidade. O objetivo deste artigo é analisar os fluxos urbanos dos entregadores de aplicativos pela metrópole de São Paulo para explorar empiricamente as condições em que esse trabalho se inscreve na cidade. Argumentamos que a dispersão de milhares de trabalhadores pela metrópole, ancorada por uma gestão algorítmica, somente se realiza por um controle incisivo do tempo, do território e do próprio trabalho e pela intensa vulnerabilidade dos trabalhadores. Mobilizando dados obtidos por meio de incursões etnográficas, entrevistas e elaboração de material cartográfico, buscaremos discutir as dinâmicas de (re)produção das desigualdades centro-periferia de um trabalho que se espacializa sob gestão centralizada das empresas de plataforma.

Family farming has an expressive participation in the national economic scenario, being the main responsible for the production of food that is made available for the consumption of the Brazilian population. Small rural properties generally have management difficulties, especially in relation to cost control and planning. Rural accounting proves to be an essential tool for the management of rural properties, even those considered small, significantly assisting in decision making. The objective of this study is to propose a cost planning and control model applicable to small rural properties that develop family agriculture. For that, a case study was carried out in a small property, located in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte. Data were obtained through semi-structured interviews with the producer. From the data collected and analyzed, the variable costing method was suggested, and the necessary steps to implement it. With the application of the suggested model, we arrived at the result of the activity that most contributes to the property, being cattle, which compared to the others, presented a higher contribution margin. This article presents and discusses the deleterious effects of misinformation on the Brazilian democratic system. To achieve this, it seeks to contextualize the current debate surrounding the limits of freedom of expression, conceptualizing criminal behaviors in the virtual environment and hate speech. In order to understand the legal and contractual mechanisms available to curb such practices, the article briefly explores some control tools offered by social media platforms. In light of these tools and resources, the article proposes a reflection on the need to humanize the procedures undertaken by social media platforms when addressing complaints or reports of offensive content submitted by their users. The way in which the Public Administration maintains its communication with society is essential in a Democratic State of Law, since the Federal Constitution establishes that access to information is a fundamental right. Therefore, this article points to the importance of Transparency Portals in terms of disseminating data and information of public interest, presenting the concepts of information, transparency and control, in addition to exposing their legal and social aspect. The work also refers to the role and contributions of Transparency Portals to the exercise of control over Public Administration by society. This research was carried out based on a bibliographical study and investigation with the Transparency Portal of the Municipality of São Raimundo Nonato - PI, and the Transparency Portal of the Federal Government. It was found that the Transparency Portals, by presenting accounting and financial information from the Public Administration, consolidate themselves as an efficient tool for exercising social control. Esta pesquisa está focada nos Estudos Organizacionais (EO). O objetivo foi analisar as práticas de controle e de resistência no cotidiano de professoras do ensino superior do campo de Estudos Organizacionais. A realidade social é produzida por meio de uma gama de micropráticas disciplinares cotidianas, as quais compõem poderosos discursos institucionais que constroem as subjetividades modernas. No que se refere aos ambientes escolares, chama-se a atenção para o uso de dispositivos de controle e de vigilância nas atividades acadêmicas. Porém, nas relações de poder, existe obrigatoriamente a possibilidade de resistência. A abordagem foi qualitativa e foram entrevistadas 12 professoras do campo de Estudos Organizacionais. Adotou-se a análise de conteúdo categorial. Identificou-se cinco categorias de práticas de controle e vigilância: práticas legais-normativas; práticas objetivas; práticas subjetivas; práticas tecnológicas; e práticas político-ideológicas. As práticas de resistência variaram entre “enfrentamento” e “fazer o melhor que possível”. Foram identificados elementos das estratégias políticas: Gestão, Mercado e Performatividade nas Instituições de Ensino.

Urge pensá-la no modo da vontade de verdade, no modo da impessoalidade na saga do seu dizer, de saída, eivada de juízos valorativos e para além disso, pensar o seu outro, a saber, a poesia, para que «em» jornada a linguagem poética conclame para que desse modo habitemos propriamente o lugar sagrado. Pretende-se compreender a atmosfera regente dos modos de comportamentos deste ente [Dasein] na sua cotidianidade, ambientado cientificamente, politicamente e discursivamente. Neste diapasão, refletir-se-á a linguagem desde os comportamentos científicos, em sentido lato, até o ponto disruptivo onde a linguagem, como posse da verdade, se dê como possibilitadora de um salto para um pensar poético. E como consequência, a partir do gesto dito iluminado do poeta, a linguagem num dado abandono proporcione uma serenidade imperturbável.

O georreferenciamento pode revelar a distribuição espacial das doenças. Este estudo caracterizou a localização geográfica dos casos positivos de leishmaniose visceral canina (LVC) (n=21), por meio do aplicativo C7-LVC (App), na cidade de Santa Maria, RS, Brasil. Esta tecnologia está disponível para uso em dispositivos smartphones, sendo caracterizada como primeiro instrumento para a notificação de LVC ao serviço público, com o objetivo de auxiliar nas ações de controle da doença. Neste estudo, foi utilizado o banco de dados do Serviço Municipal de Vigilância Ambiental que continha informações de notificações sobre LVC anteriormente enviadas por médicos veterinários, entre abril e dezembro de 2017. Neste período, a prevalência de LVC foi maior na região Norte (17/21 - 80,93%) da cidade. Os casos positivos foram observados em sete bairros, com maior ocorrência (21/9 - 42,85%) no bairro Perpétuo Socorro. As regiões contendo cães positivos para LVC apresentavam como características ambientais a vegetação nativa com áreas úmidas, sombreadas e ricas em matéria orgânica. Todos os casos de LVC foram identificados em regiões geográficas próximas. As características ambientais do município favorecem a proliferação e sobrevivência do vetor no perímetro urbano e periurbano e acarretam riscos à saúde humana e animal. Os dados de georreferenciamento obtidos pelo C7-LVC podem auxiliar na formulação de medidas sanitárias para conter a propagação da doença entre humanos e animais.

Passear pelos tempos pode ser um modo de conectar possibilidades de perceber na educação física as manutenções de estratégias coloniais de distanciamento progressivo do corpo. Tempos que se misturam e se transformam e modos de fazer que permanecem controlando corpos nas suas ações mais sutis são colocados em movimento de investigação, na tentativa de desfazer o efeito da linha única de uma história muito mal contada. Aproximam-se educação física e colonialidade para uma composição de saberes e corpos em exercícios insistentes da decolonialidade, mais próximos da constante produção de culturas pelo corpo em movimento.

O presente artigo é parte da etnografia realizada no mestrado no Programa de Pós-Graduação do Núcleo de Estudos em Política Pública e Direitos Humanos da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Nele, examinei as técnicas disciplinares implementadas nas prisões neodisciplinares brasileiras pela Associação de Proteção aos Condenados (APAC). Esse estudo foi feito tanto pelas características das práticas disciplinares quanto pelas contradições, contrastes e tensões verificadas. A partir do esquema de Vigiar e punir, de Foucault, descrevi o controle do tempo e das atividades, o controle do espaço, bem como da sanção normalizadora, do exame e do olhar hierárquico, que são executadas com uma grande participação dos membros das APAC. Depois, tratei das técnicas disciplinares, segundo apontadas por Chantraine, da ordem comunicacional e do sistema bombom, pontuando as diferenças entre os efeitos evidenciados pelo autor em uma prisão canadense e o que conseguimos verificar nas APAC. Por fim, analisei a terapia da realidade e a disciplina pelos afetos, os quais não encontram uma perfeita identificação nos esquemas acima descritos, para esmiuçar a ligação das APAC com o sistema comum, bem como o papel ambivalente que a família do apaqueano exerce. Também avancei no contraste entre os afetos que geralmente permeiam o sistema penal e aqueles que as APAC visam mobilizar.

Brucellosis is a neglected disease, its epidemiological rate in humans is not known for certain, as it is often underdiagnosed and underreported. This report aims to clarify, based on the case studied and other studies in the literature, about the clinical and dissemination/contagion form, so that there is greater care with the food consumed. In addition, showing diagnostic and treatment methods and highlighting the importance of multidisciplinary actions such as: more rigorous veterinary surveillance, population awareness. O objetivo geral deste artigo é problematizar a utilização da Inteligência Artificial (IA) pelo Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) na identificação de repercussão geral em recurso extraordinário. Como objetivos específicos, busca-se discutir o empoderamento do STF no desenho institucional brasileiro e sua Accountability, destacando a fundamentação das decisões como meio para tanto; delinear a IA e o Aprendizado Profundo; apresentar nesse contexto o robô desenvolvido pelo STF, examinando implicações de sua utilização pela jurisdição constitucional brasileira, diante da função e características do Tribunal. Em considerações finais, identificou-se como possíveis soluções para a Accountability das funções institucionais do STF a transparência e regulação pública representativa quanto ao desenho e funcionamento das ferramentas de IA, e a aplicabilidade da Resolução 332/2020 do CNJ. Operou-se a pesquisa com método indutivo, e dedutivo na elaboração do artigo. As técnicas de apoio foram a da categoria, do conceito operacional, do referente e da pesquisa bibliográfica.

Introdução/Objetivo: A febre maculosa é uma doença infecciosa transmitida por carrapatos, sendo considerada uma importante causa de morbidade e mortalidade no Brasil. Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar a incidência de febre maculosa no país, com foco nos anos de 2017 a 2020, destacando a alta prevalência na região Sudeste e nos estados de São Paulo e Minas Gerais. Métodos: Foram utilizados dados do Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação (SINAN), disponibilizados pelo Departamento de Informática do Sistema Único de Saúde (DATASUS), para obter informações sobre os casos de febre maculosa no período analisado. Foram considerados apenas os casos notificados, que tiveram confirmação laboratorial. Resultados: No período de 2017 a 2020, foram registrados um total de 898 casos de febre maculosa no Brasil. A região Sudeste apresentou a maior incidência, com 641 casos novos. O estado de São Paulo foi o mais afetado, registrando 322 casos, seguido por Minas Gerais, com 233 casos. Esses números indicam uma concentração significativa de casos nessa região e nesses estados específicos. Conclusão: Os resultados deste estudo revelam uma alta incidência de febre maculosa no Brasil, com destaque para a região Sudeste e os estados de São Paulo e Minas Gerais. Essa concentração de casos pode estar relacionada a diversos fatores de risco, como a presença de carrapatos infectados, a exposição a áreas rurais e de mata, a falta de informação sobre medidas de prevenção e a dificuldade no diagnóstico precoce da doença. Essas informações são relevantes para a elaboração de estratégias de prevenção e controle da febre maculosa, visando a redução da incidência e o aprimoramento do manejo clínico desses casos no Brasil.
