The rapid growth of online food delivery (OFD) services presents new opportunities and challenges for OFD stakeholders, emphasizing the strategic importance of retaining customers. However, the existing OFD continuance literature lacks diverse theoretical approaches and customer segment-specific knowledge, limiting a comprehensive understanding of post-pandemic customer behavior. This study leverages the uses and gratifications (U&G) theory to delve into customers' expectations and motivations for continuing to use OFD, with a particular focus on the possible differences between Generation Y and Generation Z customers. By applying a mixed-method approach, the results identified six gratifications of OFD continuance usage, classified into three groups: utilitarian, hedonic, and social gratifications. Generation Y and Z assign varying levels of importance to the identified gratifications. The study enriches the current OFD literature by demonstrating the explanatory prowess of U&G theory to the continuance phenomenon and provides practical suggestions for OFD stakeholders to cultivate competitiveness and sustainable growth. Academic heads play a significant role in the school since they have an influence on the quality of individual faculty performance, job motivation, organizational commitment, student success levels, and school efficiency. One of the most essential factors that contributes to the effective and efficient attainment of corporate goals is the leadership style adopted by academic leaders. The responsibility of academic heads in ensuring a suitable work environment for subordinates and staff, as well as the effectiveness of the school they supervise, is equally crucial. This study aimed to determine the academic head's extent of practice of leadership style and its relationship to the faculty member's work motivation and organizational commitment in selected private universities of higher education institutions in Metro Manila. The study used the descriptive method of research since it was most appropriate to use to determine the status of leadership style of the academic heads as well as the faculty members' work motivation and organizational commitment. It specifically used the correlational research design because the study tried to correlate the variables of the study. It used the survey questionnaire to gather the data from the respondents consisting of 36 academic heads and 120 faculty members. The study generated the following findings: 1) Both groups of respondents perceived as very high the academic heads' extent of leadership styles vis-à-vis autocratic, democratic, laissez-faire, transactional and transformational, 2) There was no significant difference between the perceptions of the two groups of respondents on the academic heads' extent of practice of different leadership styles, 3) Both groups of respondents perceived as high the faculty members' level of work motivation in terms of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, 4) There was a significant difference between the perceptions of the two groups of respondents on the faculty members' level of intrinsic work motivation but no significant difference in terms of extrinsic motivation, 5) Both groups of respondents perceived as high the faculty members' level of organizational commitment in terms of affective, continuance and normative, 6) There was no significant difference between the perceptions of the two groups of respondents on the faculty members' level of organizational commitment, 7) There was a significant relationship between the academic heads' extent of practice of different leadership styles and the faculty members' level of work motivation and level of organizational commitment, and 8) A leadership framework was deemed important to enhance the faculty members' work motivation and organizational commitment, thus, was proposed in this study. The study examined the relationship between leadership behaviours and the organisational commitment of academic staff at Kyambogo University, mediated by job satisfaction. Specifically, the study tested the influence of leadership behaviours on organisational commitment and job satisfaction, the influence of job satisfaction on the organisational commitment of academic staff, and the mediating effect of job satisfaction on the influence of leadership behaviours on organisational commitment. Based on the three-component model by Allen and Meyer (1990), organisational commitment was studied in terms of affective, continuance, and normative commitment. The study adopted a correlational research design on a sample of 175 fulltime academic staff of Kyambogo University. The study utilised a self-administered questionnaire to collect the data. Data analysis involved carrying out partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The results indicated that leadership behaviours positively but insignificantly influenced job satisfaction, while job satisfaction positively and significantly influenced organisational commitment, and leadership behaviours positively and significantly influenced job satisfaction. The results also revealed that job satisfaction partially mediated the influence of leadership behaviours on organisational commitment. The study concluded that while leadership behaviours are not a prerequisite for increasing organisational commitment among academic staff members, they improve academic staff members' job satisfaction. Also, academic staff members' commitment is increased by their job satisfaction, and job satisfaction partially significantly affects the association between leadership behaviours and academic staff members' commitment. The study recommends that to improve organisational commitment, university leaders should not overfocus on leaders' behaviours. Nevertheless, to improve job satisfaction, they should exhibit those leadership behaviours that enhance job satisfaction. Further, university leaders can improve academic staff satisfaction by implementing appropriate job satisfaction practices. Last but not least, in addition to good leadership practices, university leaders should implement appropriate job satisfaction practices to enhance academic staff members' commitment. The study examined the casual link between emotional intelligence and organisational commitment of lecturers at Kyambogo University. Specifically, the study examined the link between the four emotional intelligence competencies of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management with organisational commitment of full-time lecturers at Kyambogo University. The three-component model of organisational commitment by Allen and Meyer, which describes it in terms of affective, normative, and continuance commitment, was used to assess the concept. Using the correlational research design, the study adopted the quantitative approach. The study participants were 175 full-time lecturers of the selected university. The data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire. Structural equation modelling (SEM) using SmartPLS was used to analyse the data. The study findings indicated that while self-management and social awareness were significant determinants of organisational commitment of full-time lecturers, relationship management and self-awareness were positive but insignificant determinants of organisational commitment. The study concluded that while self-management and social awareness are essential for the organisational commitment of lecturers, relationship management and self-awareness are not. Therefore, it was recommended that to promote the organisational commitment of lecturers, university managers should take cognisance of lecturers' self-management and social awareness more than relationship management and self-awareness.

Drawing on perceived value theory, this study applies a fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) to examine how different combinations of sub-dimensions of perceived value (including functional, convenience, hedonic, and social value), together with user features (smartphone use habit and travel frequency to theme parks) motivate users to continue using a theme park app from a configurational approach. Further, the functional value was proposed to include five components: real-time information, map navigation, online order, virtual queue, and recommended routes. By analyzing empirical data collected via an online survey in China (N = 347), this study found six different configurations of causal conditions for inducing continuance usage. Particularly, online order and perceived convenience value are found to be core conditions reinforcing continuance usage in combination with different peripheral conditions. This study contributes to the literature by offering new insights into IS continuance from a configuration perspective in a theme park app context. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Following the completion of the study, it was found that there exists a significant relationship between perceived Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) congruence and employee outcomes, particularly organizational commitment, as elucidated through the lens of social identity theory. The investigation aimed to elucidate how employees' personal values and assessments of CSR dimensions could positively shape their attitudes and commitment to their organizations. The study, conducted with participants from various organizations recruited via the Amazon Mechanical Turk (M-Turk) platform, delved into three key CSR dimensions: Discretionary, Ethical, and Economic Responsibility. Results indicated that organizations can bolster organizational commitment by fostering a sense of alignment between CSR endeavors and employees' values. Specifically, when employees perceive harmony between their personal values and the CSR initiatives of their organization, they are more inclined to feel a heightened sense of Belongingness and commitment to the organization. The study also highlighted the mediating role of Belongingness, suggesting that the relationship between CSR and organizational commitment is significantly influenced by employees' feelings of Belongingness. These findings underscore the importance for organizations to tailor CSR initiatives in a manner that resonates with their employees' values, thereby nurturing a sense of Belongingness and fostering stronger organizational commitment. Moreover, the study underscores the need for further cross-cultural research to ascertain the generalizability of these findings across diverse cultural contexts.

This study examines the effect of network externalities and flow on continual usage of e-banking services. A sample of 400 e-banking users was conveniently engaged using a structured questionnaire. The method of analysis used included Spearman's correlation analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modelling analysis. The findings indicate that referent network size does not significantly influence continuance intention of e-banking users. However, flow positively influences continuance intention of e-banking users. Stakeholders in the financial institutions will understand the driving factors behind continual usage of e-banking services. Some researchers have explored continual usage of e-banking but such studies are rare in the African context. This study will contribute to extant literature by adding a new dimension, intrinsic and extrinsic factors, of e-banking continual usage. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study investigated the relationship between job satisfaction and work commitment among Dapitan City's hospitality industry employees. It used a descriptive research method utilizing a questionnaire as the principal tool for gathering data. Data were statistically treated using frequency, weighted mean, Mann-Whitney U-Test, Kruskal-Wallis H-Test, and Spearman Rank-Order Correlation. The study revealed that employees were satisfied with their salary (existence), work environment (relatedness), and the way they were mentored in the performance of their jobs (growth). Most of the employees were committed to their work as they identified that the establishment had a deep sense of personal meaning to them (affective); that, for now, choosing to remain in the organization is motivated by both necessity and desire (continuance); and the establishment deserves their loyalty (normative). A significant difference resulted in job satisfaction when analyzed according to civil status. Moreover, when analyzed according to educational attainment and employment status, a significant difference was identified in employees' work commitment. Finally, it was discovered that among hospitality industry employees in Dapitan City, job satisfaction and work commitment have a considerably high positive relationship. Hospitality industry stakeholders and employees are encouraged to support educational advancement and enhance management practices to minimize employee turnover. Legislators and policymakers are encouraged to enact policies and measures in line with the improvement and advancement of hospitality industry employees. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present multidisciplinary theoretical article develops its focal line of argument gradually. At first, feminist and narrative theory are consulted; after that, some treatments in the philosophy of mind are discussed. The latter’s correlative relationship with the recent “materialist turn” in philosophy affords to propose a tentative alternative to the current and universally accepted approaches to the (fictional) character much indebted to philosophical idealism. This latter observation also determines the broad – some might argue seemingly overtly complicated – theoretical reach of the article. However, its timely point of departure – the online misogynistic abuse in fan discussions directed at Breaking Bad’s Skyler White and the actress Anna Gunn –, enables to cast the issue of character engagement in necessarily broad terms, disciplinarily speaking. Be it in the context of different scientific disciplines or as the crucial vertebra connecting them, whilst also suggesting far-reaching philosophical implications. This kind of engagement, and especially its expression in online discourse, provides an impetus to inquire about the peculiarities of the human mind and the operation of human thought. Therefore, the present article zooms in on the conventionally understood binary relationship between “fiction” and “reality”, sketching appropriate terminology (continuance, narrative person, realitization) and theoretical framework (inspired, in part, by the Soviet school of philosophical Activity Theory) to help explain the human proclivity to treat characters in naïve realist terms, i.e., as real people. The central research question is as follows: what kind of ramifications can be detected for the conceptualization of character (and narrative) engagement from a particular kind of value-laden reception (like the forms of digital misogyny that emerged in the context of Breaking Bad’s reception)?

User-generated content (UGC), which generates vast amounts of content in real-time through social networks, offers a significant opportunity for mining new knowledge. The survival of information technology products such as mobile APPs (mAPPs) depends on continuance. The exploration of the impact mechanism underlying continuance intention is crucial given the low continued usage of many mAPPs. Mining real-world UGC provides an efficient approach for user experience and product evaluation compared to traditional interviews or surveys. This study proposes a novel UGC-driven, Kano model focused, pipelined framework to automatically identify impact factors and determine the impact mechanism underlying continuance intention. The above method framework involves unsupervised clustering text analysis to identify user needs and product functions from UGC, followed by the construction of a statistical model to explore the relationship between these factors and user satisfaction and dissatisfaction (Kano model). Additionally, a model to distinguish the attributes of factors that significantly affect satisfaction or dissatisfaction is proposed. Finally, user satisfaction and dissatisfaction are used as mediators to build models of continuance and discontinuance intention. Empirical validation of the proposed method is conducted with a case study of mobile health apps, involving the mining of 86,423 user reviews and structural equation modeling based on 1025 user responses. The results indicate that the UGC-driven method effectively explores the impact mechanism of continuance and discontinuance intention. • A novel user-generated content-driven framework is proposed to explore user experiences of mAPPs products. • A new model based on Kano model is constructed to automatically distinguish the attributes of factors. • Potential impact factors of continuance and discontinuance intention (CI and DCI) of mAPPs is mined from 86,423 reviews. • Technical characteristics mainly affect DCI, while functional characteristics mainly affect CI. • Technical features are the basic requirements of users, while functional design reflects user expectations. - Abstract
Mobile emergency warning apps are essential for effective emergency communication – of course, provided the population intends to use them. Drawing on protection motivation theory, the study validated a psychometric model to explain what motivates individuals to install a warning app for the first time and to keep using it over time. Multi-group covariance-based structural equation modeling was used to model the answers to a survey that measured the drivers of intention to begin using or intention to continue using a warning app. The model shows that, for both non-users and users, trust, social influence, and response efficacy positively and maladaptive rewards negatively affect intention to use and intention to continue use warning apps. However, perceived vulnerability influences only intention to use, whereas response cost and self-efficacy affect continued use intention. Hence, this study enhances the theoretical understanding of technology-enabled protection behaviors and provides practitioners with a list of factors to consider for pushing the adoption and continued use of emergency warning applications. The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors underlying the adoption, completion and continuance of massive open online courses (MOOCs), using technology-user-environment (TUE) framework, MOOCs features and MOOCs qualities. The proposed model was empirically tested using longitudinal research design. The primary data was gathered at three time points through a survey of 197 students at an Indian university. Stepwise regression analysis was used to test the hypothesised relationships in the proposed model. The results demonstrate that technological characteristics, user characteristics and MOOCs features influence the students' decisions in all the stages of MOOCs acceptance including initial adoption, completion and continuance. Environmental factors determine the students' initial intentions to adopt MOOCs, whereas MOOCs qualities predict their intentions to complete and continue the usage of MOOCs in future. Moreover, the intention to adopt MOOCs significantly predicts the intention to complete MOOCs which in turn significantly determines the intention to continue using MOOCs. These findings will be helpful for MOOCs providers and other stakeholders. The MOOCs providers can focus on the technological characteristics, user characteristics and MOOCs features as they carry a sustained influence on the students' intentions to adopt, complete as well as continue using MOOCs. Organizational commitment to the university of student-athlete and nonstudent-athlete undergraduate college students was measured by modifying an established measure of affective, continuance, and normative commitment. Student-athletes reported significantly higher levels of overall organizational commitment as well as both affective and normative commitment. Length of time at the university and transfer status, however, yielded different patterns in commitment. Implications of these relationships for student life programming and comparisons with employee commitment are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract Background Physical activity has been suggested to prevent the conversion of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to dementia in patients. We investigated the association between the continuance and regularity of physical activity and the risk of developing dementia in patients with MCI. Methods We analyzed 6-year followed up data for 247,149 individuals in the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) cohort of Korea who were enrolled between January 1, 2009, and December 31, 2015. The patients were divided into four groups: those who did not engage in physical activity consistently (Never-PA group), those who initiated physical activity (Initiation-PA group), those who ceased physical activity (Withdrawal-PA group), and those who performed physical activity consistently (Maintenance-PA group). We also divided the patients into two groups: those who engaged in physical activity irregularly (Irregular-PA) and those who undertook physical activity regularly (Regular-PA). Results When the risk for the Never-PA group was set as the benchmark (ref = 1), the Maintenance-PA group had the lowest incidence of dementia of the Alzheimer type (DAT) compared to the other groups (HR = 0.82, 95% CI 0.79–0.86). The DAT risk of the Initiation-PA group (HR = 0.89, 95% CI 0.85–0.93) was lower than the Never-PA group. In addition, compared to the Irregular-PA group, the Regular-PA group had a 15% reduced risk for developing DAT. Conclusions Although no causal inference could be made, continued regular physical activity in patients with MCI is associated with a protective effect against developing DAT. Moreover, ceasing physical activity could halt this protective effect.

There are many studies that focused on the role of organizational commitment on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) specifically conducted in Indonesia. However, few of studies emphasize on the role of three conceptual constructs of organizational commitment namely affective, normative, and continuance on OCB in Indonesian context. Several empirical studies still remain inconclusive due to the inconsistency results. This research is intended as an empirical test to examine the role of three conceptual dimensions of commitment on OCB, and also tested to add body of knowledge about the results of this empirical study in Indonesia especially in hospitality industry. This is a quantitative causal research with 73 three-starred hotels’ employees as the respondents. The data is processed using SmartPLS 2.0 as the statistical tools, and as the result it is found that affective commitment affects positively and significantly toward OCB; normative commitment affects positively and significantly toward OCB; and lastly continuance commitment affects positively and significantly toward OCB.

“It Has Always Been This Way” is the title of a poem in Luci Tapahonso’s volume Sáanii Dahataał. The Women Are Singing (1993), in which she mentions childbirth rituals, expresses native belief in continuance and refers to the individual’s development as part of a tightly knit community. It is an appropriate quote here as it points to the all-embracing worldview that many American Indian nations cherish, including the Southwestern ones. This worldview emphasizes the circularity of space and time as well as the sense of interconnectedness between different elements in the world such as the people, the land and the stories. This study analyzes the concept of time as reflected in most significant poetry by the Pueblo writers Leslie Marmon Silko and Nora Naranjo-Morse and the Diné writers Esther Belin and Luci Tapahonso. These contemporary authors give the full measure of the Southwestern tribal identity from an inside perspective, by revisiting creation myths, rewriting history, testifying about the present and affirming permanence on the land. Recent bibliography is used to establish the distinctiveness of the voices under consideration.

Distance learning (DL) has become a major issue in the educational field with the spread of COVID-19. In order to enhance the satisfaction of DL learners, efforts to cultivate learners' competencies, as well as investment to build IT infrastructure, and activities to support high-quality content provision should be comprehensively considered. Based on a survey of 221 college students, this study verified that digital literacy (knowledge, skill, and mind) and information systems success factors (system, information, and service quality) all positively affect DL satisfaction, in turn, which positively influences on DL continuance. This study is meaningful in that it comprehensively considered learner's ability and IT infrastructure and analyzed the effect on the satisfaction and intention of continuous use of DL. In the future, it is necessary to expand the target of not only college students but also elementary and secondary students and instructors, and to further consider interaction, which is a major factor in the distance learning process. Flow theory has been widely applied to understand user behaviour in the different phases of the information systems life cycle during last two decades. Nevertheless, its application is complicated due to issues and challenges related to the broad nature of information technology and human behaviour. Specifically, there is a lack of consensus on the conceptualization of flow in the IS context, and much uncertainty still exists about the key topics and the relationship between antecedents, dimensions and consequences of flow experience. However, a systematic review of how the flow phenomenon is conceptualized and operationalized within the IS life cycle has not been addressed yet. Therefore, studies based on the flow framework within the IS life cycle have mostly emerged without a research agenda and theoretical guidance. Aiming to fill this gap, this study systematically reviews flow studies related to three main phases of the life cycle of an IS, namely adoption, continuance and discontinuance. A total of 81 peer‐reviewed articles published from 2000 to 2019 were identified for analysis. The findings present a comprehensive view of literature by analysing characteristics of reviewed studies in terms of research methods, research contexts and popular theoretical lenses used with flow theory. Furthermore, the results show antecedents, dimensions and outcomes of flow that have been relatively well or under‐investigated. Finally, based on these findings, research gaps and directions for future research are provided. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Students could enjoy, intend to continue or in opposite hate or intend to discontinue learning mathematics. However, the low desire of Nigerian students to accept mathematics as a course of study at tertiary institution of learning in Nigeria becomes an issue that requires urgent attention of stake holder in education industry. Based on the ECM, the study examines the effect of the ECM constructs and perceived enjoyment on continuance intention of learning mathematics in order to extent the scope of ECM of IS usage to the context of mathematics learning. A questionnaire was adapted from previously validated instrument for identifying factors that influence colleges of education (COE) mathematics students' continuance intention of studying mathematics. 339 final year mathematics students of COE in the northwest zone in Nigeria have completed the questionnaire. The findings revealed that the most important factor of the COE mathematics students' continuance intention is the believed of their usefulness of learning mathematics to their daily lives activities. Satisfaction, confirmation of expectation and perceived enjoyment in learning mathematics also influence students' intention to continue studying mathematics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Infrequent and ineffective usage of IT after initial adoption may incur undesirable costs or results in waste of effort to develop the IT. Most of information systems (IS) continuance models try to define how users accept IS and use it. The aim of these models which originally were developed for marketing research and modeling of repurchase behavior of consumer, is evaluation of loyalty and continuance in individual level of system usage or measures of acceptance of systems is used for studying continuance of systems while effective factors of continuance for organizational user are ignored. Therefore, in this research for identifying affecting factors on continuance of information systems, the main factors are defined by reviewing literature, and through semi-structured interview independent variables are defined including independent variables like governor, manager, leadership style, technology change, strategy, users, customer expectation, culture, law, transparency, system position and mediator variables like positive and negative switching costs and the model is made by using Atlas T/I software in the last step, final model of research is customized in the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.

This article introduces a new systemic theory called “The Three Dimensional Spiral of Sense”, applied to Identity and Professionalization. The epistemological mainstays of the theory are stressed here, a theory supported by more than 30 years of empirical research at CONICET (National Council of Scientific Research, Argentina), with individuals belonging to different populations, some of them covering periods of over 20 years (intra-generational studies), and others covering three generations in-line (inter-generational studies). This article presents the most specific theoretical frameworks, and it formulates the six disciplinary areas in which the new analysis of the social data was carried out: Education, Health, Science, Media, International Relations and Interculturality. The first area – Education – is dealt with through different levels (secondary level, tertiary level, University and PhD training. Here, we only make reference to the studies carried out, returning to some epistemological issues in this theory. The methodology used was quantitative (statistical analysis, a semi-structured survey) but mainly qualitative (hierarchical evocations, interviews). The approach was macro-micro-meso-macro, micro, not quite common yet. It consists of a kind of sui generis systemism which recovers relationships (links, back and forth) between individuals and contexts, without overlooking neither the former nor the latter, thus, avoiding any type of reductionism. Individuals, organizations and frameworks interplay and feedback themselves. The results, particularly the qualitative ones, show the rich interactions underlying the continuance or innovation processes, which favor or hinder the individuals’ development and identity in times of abrupt change; at the same time, these results reveal the need for Professionalization in emerging countries Fil: Aparicio, Miriam Teresita. Drawing from a three-factor model of organizational commitment, we sought to provide validity evidence for a multidimensional conceptualization designed to capture adolescent athletes' commitment to their coach-athlete relationship or their team. In Study 1, 335 individual-sport athletes (Mage = 17.32, SD = 1.38) completed instruments assessing affective, normative, and continuance commitment to their relationship with their coach, and in Study 2, contextually modified instruments were administered to assess interdependent-sport athletes' (N = 286, Mage = 16.31, SD = 1.33) commitment to their team. Bayesian structural equation modeling revealed support for a three-factor (in comparison with a single-factor) model, along with relations between commitment dimensions and relevant correlates (e.g., satisfaction, return intentions, cohesion) that were largely consistent with theory. Guided by recent advancements in Bayesian modeling, these studies provide a new commitment instrument with the potential for use and refinement in team- and relationship-based settings and offer preliminary support for a conceptual framework that may help advance our understanding of the factors underpinning individuals' engagement in sport. This study examined the relationship between commitment (specifically the affective, continuance and normative aspects of commitment) and the delivery of road infrastructure in Uganda. The study employed a cross-sectional survey design with a sample of 266 that was purposively selected from road project engineers related to the Uganda National Roads Authority, the Ministry of Works and Transport, and the Uganda National Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors. A self-administered questionnaire was used to collect the data. Exploratory factor analysis and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the data. The findings indicate that all three indicators of commitment (affective, continuance, and normative) significantly affect the delivery of road infrastructure projects, though in varying degrees. The researchers recommend the implementation of mechanisms to enhance the three forms of commitment in the delivery of road infrastructure projects in Uganda. Notwithstanding other factors, the paper makes a contribution to the area of road construction in the developing country context by extending previous qualitative findings which focused solely on a case-based approach. This will enable policymakers and practitioners to gain an appreciation of the key dimensions of contractor commitment that may influence the delivery of road infrastructure projects in developing countries. TRANSGENDER people , *COLLEGE environment , *GENDER , *SEXUAL diversity , *SCHOOL environment , *UNIVERSITY & college admission - Abstract
Taking into consideration that admission to universities is not a regular experience to Brazilian transvestites and transexuals, this article aims to reflect upon the challenges that are faced by trans people during access and staying at the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT). The documental research undertook an analysis of two central documents that work as indicators of formal acceptance of this population on the university environment: adoption of chosen name and self-determination of which restroom to use. These questions relate to the adaptation of the educational environment, to the promotion of sexual diversity, and to the notion of gender/identity expression as fundamental to assure the right to education to people who live in precarious conditions of social life, whose basic rights are often denied and that are living on the margins of society. Understanding the factors that determine a user's decision to continue using cloud storage services is critical for providers and their users. We integrated Stimuli Organism Response (SOR) and Information Technology (IT) continuance decision model to develop a new model. In addition, we selected two quality attributes (i.e., reliability and flexibility) that are essential to reflect the quality of cloud storage services. Our results show that reliability and flexibility positively influence service quality, and that service quality positively influences perceived benefits and satisfaction. Besides, perceived benefits have significant and positive effects on satisfaction and continuance intention decision. Results further show that satisfaction significant and positive direct influence on the continuance intention decision. We also examined the mediated effects among key drivers and validated the mediating role of service quality in the IT continuance decision model. Our model explained 58% of satisfaction, which consequently explained 61% of continuance intention decision. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background. As video game usage continues to rise, it is important to understand why people choose and continue playing a game. Purpose. This research presents a theoretical framework to explore the relationships between gameplay motivations, satisfaction, continuance intention and gameplay. Methods. To examine these relationships, survey data was collected from 353 participants who played different types of online games, including League of Legends, World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and Hearthstone, for at least 10 hours in the past three months. A series of structural equation models were tested to identify the model with the best validity and fit. All constructs were from previously validated measures. Motivations were measured by the Trojan Player Typology, which assessed story-driven, completionist, competitor, escapist, smarty-pants, and socializer motives. Satisfaction was measured using the game user experience satisfaction scale (GUESS), which assessed satisfaction with usability/playability, narratives, play engrossment, enjoyment, creative freedom, audio aesthetic, personal gratification, social connectivity, and visual aesthetics. Continuance intention was measured using a 4-item scale. Results. The final model suggested that motivations were positively related to satisfaction, while satisfaction was positively related to continuance intention and weekly play time. Motivations accounted for 20% of the variance in satisfaction, and the story-driven motivation was the strongest predictor. Further, satisfaction accounted for 47% of the variance in continuance intention and 8% of the variance in weekly play time. Conclusion. Individual differences in gameplay motivation are an important component of a player's satisfaction. Further, satisfaction appears to be central to a player's intention to continue using a game. As digital platforms have become the locus of competition and innovation in the digital economy, it is imperative to understand consumer decisions on adoption and usage. Digital platforms have unique traits, as they are extensible and often mediate between users. These traits may require understandings to move beyond generic (post-)adoption theories. This paper reviews the rapidly growing body of empirical consumer studies on digital platforms in order to identify emerging trends in this field. After a structured literature review, we conduct a network analysis using the hypotheses that are supported in the papers. We find a wide variety of over 130 concepts is considered. Factors from generic (post-) adoption theories are often studied, alongside factors related to the concept of network effects. We find differences between the importance of direct, indirect, local and global network effects. We find that studies pay relatively little attention to characteristics that arise from the extensibility of digital platforms, such as openness, control, security and privacy. We posit that IS researchers have the important task of opening up this black box of digital platform characteristics and theorize how notions of extensibility and generativity affect consumer decisions, going beyond mainstream theories on adoption and continuance. The worldwide wearables market is growing, however, the discontinued use threatens the lasting utility of wearable health devices with a 30% abandonment rate. Prior research has used technology acceptance models to understand adoption and use of these technologies. However, the emphasis in prior research has been on aspects of the technology rather than aspects of the individual. To reflect the characteristics of a higher level of interaction between consumers and fitness wearable devices, we develop a model by integrating the Expectation-Confirmation Model of IS Continuance (ECM) with Regulatory Focus Theory (RFT). By introducing RFT to the IS continuance study, how wearable users deal with disconfirmation is explained in a more nuanced way. In our model, we propose that promotion focus negatively moderates the relationship between disconfirmation and perceived usefulness, whereas prevention focus positively moderates this relationship. This model provides theoretical contributions and practical contributions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
