ORGANIZATIONAL behavior , *GLOBAL Financial Crisis, 2008-2009 , *BANKING industry , *FRAMES (Social sciences) , *FINANCIAL institutions - Abstract
This article analyzes the evolution of the concept of commitment in the credit institutions of our country through the examination of the periodical publications issued by these organizations. The study begins with the analysis of the new business discourse, within the so-called management culture, whose main objective is to mold the employee's subjectivity in order to adopt the organization's objectives and in which commitment would represent a central aspect. Next, the transformation that the financial system has undergone in our country in recent years is described, allowing the analysis to be framed in a context marked by greater competitiveness and flexibility and within which the financial crisis suffered in 2008 will mark a turning point in the policies followed by these entities, with a sharp reduction in the number of employees and branches. Within the study carried out on the discourses of these credit institutions, we analyze their transformation from a situation in which the organization itself is responsible for promoting these values close to management to a new scenario in which the individual is responsible for providing these features and becoming responsible for the evolution of the institution according to the contribution and involvement that he/she deploys. In addition, these institutions promote the establishment of a new meaning of work itself. The individual will not only obtain a salary consideration for the tasks performed but will become a method by which he/she can be fulfilled as a person by promoting ideals of which he/ she will be part due to his/her belonging and contribution to the development of the entity. Finally, due to the central role that these behaviors represent for these organizations, we analyze how these entities tend to periodically evaluate and measure the commitment displayed by their staff.

This article is based on the hypothesis that it is possible to conceptualize a poetics of commitment in the work of Antonio López Baeza. To this end, it reflects on the categories proposed by Søren Kierkegaard: aesthetics, ethics and mysticism. From this scheme, we have observed a series of features that lead us to confirm the initial hypothesis through the dialogue between philosophy, theology and poetry. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Starting from an aspect that has been scarcely addressed by the specialized critics, the figure of the recipient public, it is considered pertinent to revisit the creative and cultural work of the main members of the Contemporáneos in México. In this first approach, the focus is placed on the first half of the twenties and on some specific texts by Gorostiza, Villaurrutia, Owen, Torres Bodet, in order to question and to reconsider the commonly accepted conviction about the deliberate ahistoricity that characterized the group. Consequently, their awareness of the sociocultural reality of the country is highlighted, while their work is related to the historical responsibility that the generation of artists of 1921 had to assume. Likewise, special attention is paid to an important cultural milestone that is not usually considered when studying their work and which takes places between the twenties and thirties: the transition from an oral cultural to another literate one. In line with the above, their artistic proposal of that time is linked with some of the emblematic figures of popular culture and with the process of rehabilitation of traditional singing in Mexico. The aim would consist of raising the possibility that the Contemporáneos could have tried to create a poetry of the Revolution before conceiving a revolutionary literature, already in the second half of the decade. SUSTAINABLE development , *TEAMS in the workplace , *LEADERSHIP , *SCARCITY , *WELL-being , *SUSTAINABILITY - Abstract
Although organizations are aware of the 17 goals proposed by the 2030 UN Agenda, there is little understanding of how to achieve sustainability. In this context, it is believed that spiritual leadership (SL) may be capable of directing initiatives to address sustainability challenges in organizations, by promoting a sustainable workplace. Thus, this theoretical essay aims to understand the connection between SL and the development of a sustainable workplace. We bring three contributions: it demonstrates how SL can be considered a driving force for organizational sustainability; we explain how SL impacts not only at an individual level but also on teams and the organization as a whole, through spiritual well-being, leading to commitment and productivity; we propose a conceptual scheme showing how the previous findings form a sustainable workplace promoted by SL. Given the scarcity of such theoretical insights in the existing literature, our contributions represent an opportunity to advance knowledge on this research topic, paving the way for future empirical investigations. Background: Previous studies have shown that catastrophizing and avoiding pain increase suffering and disability of patients with fibromyalgia (FM). Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) has demonstrated good results in the treatment of chronic pain. Method: This study applies a group ACT therapy for women with fibromyalgia, focusing on therapeutic components, such as acceptance, defusion, and personal values. An experimental design with control group was used; 57 women diagnosed with FM participated in this study (25 in the ACT group and 32 in the control group). The ACT group received five intervention sessions. Psychological symptoms, perceived health, mindfulness, catastrophic thinking, and cognitive fusion were evaluated at pre- and post-treatment and at six-month follow-up. Results: The results showed that the ACT group had significantly better results in mental health, social role and functioning, anxiety, depression, somatization, and obsession-compulsion, less catastrophic thinking, and improved capacity for mindfulness at six-month follow-up. Conclusions: The results are discussed in the light of previous interventions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article presents the results of an integrative of the Most research to date on the media treatment of the Paralympic Games has used content analysis and the comparative method to determine whether people with disabilities are being discriminated against by the media. However, the need to investigate the effect of media communications on audiences has long been recognized. This study presents the results of a visual analysis of two advertising spots with very different discursive strategies, and of an experiment using neurological measurements with a sample of 40 subjects to assess the differences in positive emotion of the recipients related to each advertisement, taking the EEG frontal asymmetry as a measure of approach motivation. Our results found that the advertisement that a priori had more rhetorical resources to achieve positive emotion in a general population had an effect only on the subgroup of people with disabilities and, particularly, on those with disabilities who practice some form of sport. INTERPERSONAL relations , *DIPLOMACY , *FRIENDSHIP , *GRATITUDE , *DIPLOMATS - Abstract
This article argues that interpersonal commitment is statespersons' most highly coveted aim, the greatest benefit that interpersonal relations can yield in diplomacy. Accordingly, statespersons employ a range of relational practices in encounters with counterparts, seeking to create and harness commitment that will advance professional aims. We argue that statespersons can follow one of two paths to generate commitment: (1) creating feelings of gratitude and providing help that makes a counterpart feel indebted; or (2) cultivating friendly relations. Both demand the successful implementation of relational practices. On the basis of thirty semistructured interviews with past and present senior Israeli statespersons and an analysis of fifteen autobiographies written by senior Israeli diplomats and political figures, we demonstrate to what extent statespersons acknowledge the importance of interpersonal commitment and its ramifications; identify the relational practices that statespersons employ to elicit commitment from a counterpart; and discuss the conditions that facilitate the emergence of such a commitment. We conclude by discussing the differences between thin and thick interpersonal commitments and underlining the importance of interpersonal relations in diplomacy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Conservation offsets promise cost‐effective conservation of biodiversity, especially under economic and environmental change, because they represent a more flexible approach to biodiversity conservation, allowing for the economic development of ecologically valuable land provided that this development is offset by restoration of previously developed areas. The level of flexibility is determined by the trading rules. Lax rules allow for more flexibility, which promises cost savings, but will likely lead to unintended loss of biodiversity. I analyzed the trade‐off between economic costs and ecological benefits (biodiversity conservation) in biodiversity offsetting with an ecological‐economic model that considered the three main types of offset flexibility: spatial, temporal, and ecosystem type. I sought to examine the influence of ecological and economic conditions on offset flexibility trade‐offs. Large variation in the conservation costs and small costs of habitat restoration strongly increased trading activity and reduced the ecological benefit. The ecological benefit was most sensitive to spatial flexibility when a short range of ecological interaction was considered. At a large interaction range, spatial flexibility delivered large cost savings without overly reducing the ecological benefit. Risks and time lags associated with habitat restoration favored an offsetting scheme in which credits are awarded with the initiation of restoration projects rather than their successful completion—given appropriate offsetting multipliers were chosen. Altogether, under scarce resources, the level of flexibility in an offsetting scheme should be chosen by carefully balancing ecological benefits and economic costs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Esports (i.e. electronic sports) are a kind of sport characterized mainly by being facilitated by an electronic system. Currently, Esports is a growing discipline that is getting popularity year after year. The most played games in Latin America are Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) and League of Legends (LoL). However, there is yet little research on Esports and the psychological factors involved during games that may affect player performance. In sports, the Flow State (sometimes simply called "flow") is a sensation in which one's own skills are adequate to face the challenges that are presented to us. Literature suggests that entering Flow State may improve performance. This work seeks, on the one hand, to determine whether Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) and League of Legends (LoL) players manage to experience a Flow State during such activity. On the other hand, improvement of player performance due to entering into Flow State was tested. Finally, the study assessed whether a more satisfying subjective experience was obtained in players who managed to enter the Flow State. For this purpose, an online survey (n = 323) was conducted using a Flow State Scale and an Optimal Experience Questionnaire after the participants had played their last game. Results show that most of the surveyed players entered in Flow State, and that this would have generated both a more satisfying experience and a better performance. These results deepen knowledge about Esports and may help in improving players' experience in video games and their performance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

With the advent of AI, consumer-brand interactions are undergoing a dramatic transformation (Prikshat, Malik, and Budhwar, 2021). Consumer experience with AI is a lesser explored area of study. This research aims to examine how AI may be used in the retail industry to enhance the purchasing experience for AI users. With the trust-commitment theory and the service quality model as our inspiration, we developed our theoretical framework. Customers who have used a YouTube service powered by artificial intelligence were sent an online survey. Partial least squares-structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data (n=301 replies). Trust and relationship commitment was shown to play a pivotal role in moderating the connections between customers' evaluations of service convenience, individualization, and quality. We also discovered that trust is not the only factor that substantially influences relationship commitment and that relationship commitment acts as a mediator between service quality and AI-enabled customer experiences. This research fills a gap in the literature by identifying the direct influence of perceived convenience, personalization, and service quality on AI-enabled customer experience and the intermediary effects of trust and relationship commitment. Further, the research has real-world consequences for businesses that want to apply AI in the services they provide to YouTube subscribers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

CUSTOMER cocreation , *SATISFACTION , *TRUST , *TRAVEL agents , *CONSUMERS - Abstract
In today's competitive environment, it is emphasised that business digitalisation is one of the most important strategies to deal with new market challenges. This article argues that technology is a driving force behind business relationships, showing the origins of new ways to achieve loyalty. Through a model which has been tested in a sample of 256 travel agencies, technology can facilitate coordination in the management of relationships between tourism companies, promoting value co-creation between suppliers and customers. Co-creation in turn maximises trust and commitment between organisations and lays the foundations for achievement of dual social and economic satisfaction, for client companies, which ultimately enhances their loyalty. This research contributes to the literature in the interorganizational context, showing quantitative evidence on how technology triggers a sequence of effects that, through value co-creation, trust, and commitment in the channel, between agents in the tourism field, trace a new route of relationships that leads to the achievement of dual satisfaction and loyalty. Additionally, the interrelationships between the two satisfactions are analysed, concluding the mediating effect of economic satisfaction between social satisfaction and loyalty. ORGANIZATIONAL commitment , *INTERNAL marketing , *JOB satisfaction , *WORK environment , *LABOR market - Abstract
The main objective of this research is to analyse the influence between internal marketing on job satisfaction and employee commitment. The results revealed a (X2=172.55, G=-0.98, T=8.20, p˂.001), significant relationship which supports H1. Regarding H2, the results present a significant relationship (X2=198.06, G=0.99, T=8.31, p˂.001) being enough to support H2. The analyses showed that the Gamma values are very close to 1, so it is concluded that employees highly value the dedication and importance that their company gives to set up a work environment that contributes to their satisfaction labor. University teaching quality depends on the workforce of the institution, both teachers and administrative staff. Considering this population has been little investigated, the present study aims to know the role of variables (sociodemographic and behavioral), burnout and work engagement on physical and mental health in a group of workers in a private university in Lima, Peru. In order to achieve this goal, mental and physical health (SF-36), burnout (MBI) and work engagement (UWES) were assessed in a group of 512 university personnel from Lima, Peru. Results showed that, even when they keep a good physical functioning, there're high report psychosomatic complaint, low energy, pain problems, overweight and poor health behavior. No differences between sex, age or type of work were found. The variables that better predicted physical and mental health were hours of sleep, work engagement, especially "vigor" component; as well as burnout components "emotional exhaustion" and "professional efficacy". Moreover, "Cynicism" predicts mental health, but not physical health. Results provide important information about workers health promotion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
