In general, the attackers probably create security-related threats from diverse insecure applications. These attackers execute various nasty activities like establishing hidden rootkit processes, hindering host-based security systems, changing the characteristics of applications, etc. The attackers utilize compromised tenant virtual machines for producing attacks with minor changes to avoid accurate prediction. To deal with these shortcomings, we proposed an efficient novel Deep Q-learning network-based circle search (DQL-CS) algorithm to detect intrusion in a cloud environment. The dataset is pre-processed initially by employing the Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) approach, which sequentially organizes normal and intrusion traces, and then the collected feature sequences are extracted using n-gram sampling. This process makes the classifier enhance the detection and classification performance. Followed by the extraction process, the classification process is executed using the proposed Deep Q-learning network-based circle search (DQL-CS) algorithm. The proposed DQL-CS algorithm accurately identifies and categorizes the attacks as two different classes normal and malevolent. Then the applications generating the malicious behavior are examined by the cloud admin using an alert generation system and are isolated automatically. The developed intrusion detection system is evaluated using three different malware databases such as the UNM dataset, windows malware dataset, and KDD99 dataset as the input. Faced with the cost of local management of IT infrastructure, many transportation operators have decided to use Cloud Computing services via its providers. The latter make resources available to transportation operators in the form of Virtual Machine (VM). Thus, transportation operators only use a limited number of virtual machines capable of satisfying their needs. This contributes to the reduction in the costs of the customer IT infrastructure. However, in DRT Demand-Responsive Transportation system and in order to avoid service overload and largely unused resources, it is important to anticipate the number of future passenger demands. Considering the importance of these challenges, this paper presents a Cloud-based Demand-Responsive Transportation system. Such a system is based on two principles: (I) forecasting passenger demand, in order to prepare the conditions for exploiting resources and achieving their optimal efficiency. For this purpose, actual passenger demand is predicted by applying an artificial neural network based on a Multilayer Feed-Forward Neural Network (MLFF). It constitutes a reference predicting the future passenger demands based on past demands and thus, obtaining an appropriate prediction of future loads. (II) Pre-allocate resources, to avoid overloading or over-provisioning their capacity to better manage peaks in demand, all based on an estimation process that will help predetermine resource requirements. System evaluation is performed by using OpenNebula middleware, and real passenger demand data have shown performance gains ranging up to a 25% margin for utilization rate applied to forecasting future demand. In this work, we aim to use the Harmony Search Algorithm and neural networks to create a fault aware system for optimal usage of cloud resources. Cloud environments are in general expected to be free of any errors or faults but with time and experience, we know that no system can be faultless. With our approach, we are looking to create the best possible time-efficient system for faulty environments, Where the result shows that the proposed harmony search-inspired ANN model provides least execution time, number of task failures, power consumption and high resource utilization as compared to recent Red fox and Crow search inspired models.

Cloud infrastructure provides a real time computing environment to customers and had wide applicability in healthcare, medical facilities, business, and several other areas. Most of the health data recorded and saved on the cloud. But the cloud infrastructure is configured using several components and that makes it a complex structure. And the high value of availability and reliability is essential for satisfactory operation of such systems. So, the present study is conducted with the prominent objective of assessing the optimum availability of the cloud infrastructure. For this purpose, a novel stochastic model is proposed and optimized using dragonfly algorithm (DA) and Grey Wolf optimization (GWO) algorithms. The Markovian approach is employed to develop the Chapman-Kolmogorov differential difference equations associate with the system. It is considered that all failure and repair rates are exponentially distributed. The repairs are perfect. The numerical results are derived to highlight the importance of the study and identify the best algorithm. The system attains its optimum availability 0.9998649 at population size 120 with iteration 700 by GWO. It is revealed that grey wolf optimization algorithm performed better than the Dragonfly algorithm in assessing the availability, best fitted parametric values and execution time. Cloud infrastructural resource optimization is the process of precisely selecting the allocating the correct resources either to a workload or application. When workload execution, accuracy, and cost are accurately stabilized in opposition to the best possible framework in real-time, efficiency is attained. In addition, every workload or application required for the framework is characteristic and these essentials change over time. But, the existing method was failed to ensure the high Quality of Service (QoS). In order to address this issue, a Tricube Weighted Linear Regression-based Inter Quartile (TWLR-IQ) for Cloud Infrastructural Resource Optimization is introduced. A Tricube Weighted Linear Regression is presented in the proposed method to estimate the resources (i.e., CPU, RAM, and network bandwidth utilization) based on the usage history in each cloud server. Then, Inter Quartile Range is applied to efficiently predict the overload hosts for ensuring a smooth migration. Experimental results show that our proposed method is better than the approach in Cloudsim under various performance metrics. The results clearly showed that the proposed method can reduce the energy consumption and provide a high level of commitment with ensuring the minimum number of Virtual Machine (VM) Migrations as compared to the state-of-the-art methods. The internet services have become more popular rapidly over the decades. This is because of the inspiration created by new content-hungry applications on end-user devices like smart phones. Wavelength division multiplexed mesh networks are the optical backbone, working as the aggregating point of huge volume traffic, interconnecting several access networks and end users. The need of virtual data center is to retain services in case of failures such as optical link failures and resource or power outage in data centers that occurs in the cloud infrastructure and improve the survivability. The physical infrastructure may disconnect the virtual machines and physical data centers. This leads to the reduction in computational as well as communicational capabilities of the cloud. To overcome these issues, an integer linear programming model called hamiltonian graph analysis – mixed integer linear programming (HGA-MILP) is proposed in this work by utilizing hamiltonian graph model. The subject of study in this article is the evaluation of the performance issues of cloud services implemented using FPGA technology. The goal is to improve the performance of cloud services built on top of multiple FPGA platforms known as FPGA-as-a-Service (FaaS). Task: to analyze the delays in communications between host computer and FPGA; propose the steps of development to reduce the delay and perform the evaluation of the response time for the FPGA-based accelerator depending on number of involved cards; consider the reliability aspect of such systems implemented using programmable logic. According to the tasks, the following results were obtained. The FPGA-as-a-Service where FPGA resources are provided through a set of hardware/software toolset is considered. The usage of queueing theory for cloud-based services is analyzed. The contribution of the parts of FPGA-as-a-Service to the final delay of the service is discussed. The process of modeling of work the services based on FPGA accelerator cards with use of Jackson's network is analyzed in detail. The model of the delays of FaaS that considers the parameters of accelerator FPGA cards is offered. The formula of the total response time of the service combined based on the response of the components of is obtained. The proposed steps of reduce data processing delays include increase the size of data blocks for processing in FPGA by each kernel, change the communication model with kernel from sequential to pipelined, following timing closure technique and use more FPGA accelerator cards in parallel to divide the enquiring delay. Based on the proposed model the evaluation of response time of FaaS was done. The advantage of the use of many FPGAs in parallel for same data processing task instead of implementation of requests thread for each accelerator card is shown. Conclusions. The main contribution of this study is a step forward to the modeling of FPGA-based services that can be used for FPGA-based artificial intelligence (AI) applications. It helps to improve the performance of the system by means of reducing the delays at different stages of requests processing. Another side of this result is the reliability aspect that is based on modified manner of service operation in case of use the proposed steps of system optimization. It helps to improve the processing of requests to FaaS. The proposed method is the next step after prototyping of such systems because it helps to turn the FaaS from the object for development to the tool for deployment of new technologies like AI applications.

This study aimed to determine and prioritize the selection criteria of cloud infrastructure required by AJA electronic ports. In the first step, by systematically reviewing the literature in this field and also comparatively reviewing the two industrial standards of cloud service level agreements, 24 cloud infrastructure selection indicators were identified. In the second step, by conducting a fuzzy Delphi study and utilizing the experiences of experts in this field, the identified indicators were validated, validated and refined, and then based on the consensus of experts, 21 indicators of cloud infrastructure were classified into four categories and finalized. In the third step, the indicators confirmed from the previous step were prioritized by the best-worst method. The results showed that in the selection of cloud infrastructure for AJA electronic ports, security components are effective 38.1%, functional 32%, personal data protection 19.2% and environmental and organizational 10.7%, respectively.

The advances in the Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud computing opened new opportunities for developing various smart grid applications and services. The rapidly increasing adoption of IoT devices has enabled the development of applications and solutions to manage energy consumption efficiently. This work presents the design and implementation of a home energy management system (HEMS), which allows collecting and storing energy consumption data from appliances and the main load of the home. Two scenarios are designed and implemented: a local HEMS isolated from the Internet and relies on its processing and storage duties using an edge device and a Cloud HEMS using AWS IoT Core to manage incoming data messages and provide data-driven services and applications. A testbed was carried out in a real house in the city of Valparaiso, Chile, over a one-year period, where four appliances were used to collect energy consumption using smart plugs, as well as collecting the main energy load of the house through a data logger acting as a smart meter. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first electrical energy dataset with a 10-second sampling rate from a real household in Valparaiso, Chile. Results show that both implementations perform the baseline tasks (collecting, storing, and controlling) for a HEMS. This work contributes by providing a detailed technical implementation of HEMS that enables researchers and engineers to develop and implement HEMS solutions to support different smart home applications. In this survey, we analyze the proposals of vehicular communication systems in the context of road traffic management. Starting with the definition of communications between vehicles (V2V), vehicles-to-infrastructure (V2I) and vehicles-to-everything (V2X), we first focus on the requirements and current standards for the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), including the maximum communication delay, the communication range and the size of messages (in the case of V2I transmission). After that, we analyze the use cases in line with the implementation of intelligent traffic management and review the respective methods that support or directly manage traffic on roads. One of the primary objectives of this paper is to highlight the architectures of four classes of systems able to support vehicular traffic management and communication between vehicles and roadside infrastructure, namely: vehicular cloud computing (VCC), cloudlets, Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) and fog computing. In this context, we also present our classification of the methods for these four classes of architectures. In the end, we provide our opinion on problems and limitations concerning the deployment of mechanisms belonging to each considered architecture class.

The article is devoted to the problem of developing an analytical data processing system for monitoring information security within the information security management system of modern companies conducting their main activities in cyberspace and using cloud infrastructure. Based on the analysis of modern information technologies related to ensuring information security of cloud infrastructure and the most popular products for ensuring information security of cloud infrastructures, as well as existing scientific approaches, a formalized approach to the synthesis of an analytical data processing system for monitoring the information security of an informatization object using cloud infrastructure is proposed. This approach takes into account the usefulness of the used information technologies from the viewpoint of information security. A general model of the structure of information support of an analytical data processing system for monitoring information security, as well as a model of the dependence of the usefulness of information technology on time and the ratio of the skill level of an information security specialist and an attacker are presented. The quality of the information security monitoring system is used as a criterion in the first optimization model. The following limitations are suggested: limitation on the time of making a decision on an incident; limitation on the degree of quality of analysis of information security events by the analytical data processing system and limitation on the compatibility of data analysis functions with data types about information security events. The cited results of the study of the second model show a logically consistent dependence of the usefulness of information technology on time and the ratio of the skill level of an information security specialist to the skill level of an attacker. The particular models of the structure of the information support of ASOD are presented. They make it possible to determine the rational structure information support of ASOD according to particular criteria. The following particular criteria are used: the maximin criterion of the usefulness of the information support of ASOD for monitoring the information security of an informatization object in the cloud infrastructure; the criterion for the maximum relevance of information support distributed over the nodes of the cloud infrastructure for systems with a low degree of centralization of management.

Cloud computing in the current scenario comes with a large pool of resources, pay-per-use model and reliable infrastructure. Cloud optimization relies on resource optimization to improve the performance and reliability of the cloud. Fault in the cloud places an important role in defining the reliability of the cloud. The identification of fault is a challenging issue in a modular cloud environment. The researchers have developed various methods for the fault-aware scheduling of cloud resources. The fault-aware resource allocation includes static, dynamic, meta-heuristic, and learning-based approaches. In this article, we primarily focused on existing fault-aware resource allocation techniques and then we proposed a model that will primarily focus on fault forecast in tasks allocation. The projected model is based nature-inspired heuristic approach and intelligent artificial neural network. The fault-tolerant aware ANN-based proposed model focuses on performance improvement and reliability testing proactively. The proposed model surpasses the existing state of art methods for proactive and reactive fault-aware scheduling techniques in a large scale datacenter. Cloud computing has made computing huge data on the fly and uses flexible resources according to the requirement for real-time applications. Cloud computing comes with pay per use model to pay for only those resources that you have used. Inside the cloud there lie many issues related to efficient and cost-effective models to improve cloud performance and complete the client task with the least cost and high performance. E-Health care services are one of the most computational intensive services in the cloud, they require real-time computing which can only be achieved if the computational resources can compute it in the least time. Cloud can accomplish this using an efficient scheduling algorithm. This manuscript focuses on the task scheduling technique which enhances the performance in real-time with the least execution time, network cost, and execution cost. The presented model is inspired by Big Bang-Big Crunch algorithm in astronomy. The presented algorithm enhances the quality of service by reducing the scheduling delay, network delay with the least resource cost to complete the task in the least cost to the user with high quality of service. Background: Bio-logging and animal tracking datasets continuously grow in volume and complexity, documenting animal behaviour and ecology in unprecedented extent and detail, but greatly increasing the challenge of extracting knowledge from the data obtained. A large variety of analysis methods are being developed, many of which in effect are inaccessible to potential users, because they remain unpublished, depend on proprietary software or require significant coding skills. Results: We developed MoveApps, an open analysis platform for animal tracking data, to make sophisticated analytical tools accessible to a global community of movement ecologists and wildlife managers. As part of the Movebank ecosystem, MoveApps allows users to design and share workflows composed of analysis modules (Apps) that access and analyse tracking data. Users browse Apps, build workflows, customise parameters, execute analyses and access results through an intuitive web-based interface. Apps, coded in R or other programming languages, have been developed by the MoveApps team and can be contributed by anyone developing analysis code. They become available to all user of the platform. To allow long-term and cross-system reproducibility, Apps have public source code and are compiled and run in Docker containers that form the basis of a serverless cloud computing system. To support reproducible science and help contributors document and benefit from their efforts, workflows of Apps can be shared, published and archived with DOIs in the Movebank Data Repository. The platform was beta launched in spring 2021 and currently contains 49 Apps that are used by 316 registered users. We illustrate its use through two workflows that (1) provide a daily report on active tag deployments and (2) segment and map migratory movements. Conclusions: The MoveApps platform is meant to empower the community to supply, exchange and use analysis code in an intuitive environment that allows fast and traceable results and feedback. By bringing together analytical experts developing movement analysis methods and code with those in need of tools to explore, answer questions and inform decisions based on data they collect, we intend to increase the pace of knowledge generation and integration to match the huge growth rate in bio-logging data acquisition. Energy storage plays an important role in the adoption of renewable energy to help solve climate change problems. Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are an excellent solution for energy storage due to their properties. In order to ensure the safety and efficient operation of LIB systems, battery management systems (BMSs) are required. The current design and functionality of BMSs suffer from a few critical drawbacks including low computational capability and limited data storage. Recently, there has been some effort in researching and developing smart BMSs utilizing the cloud platform. A cloud-based BMS would be able to solve the problems of computational capability and data storage in the current BMSs. It would also lead to more accurate and reliable battery algorithms and allow the development of other complex BMS functions. This study reviews the concept and design of cloud-based smart BMSs and provides some perspectives on their functionality and usability as well as their benefits for future battery applications. The potential division between the local and cloud functions of smart BMSs is also discussed. Recently, many algorithms have been introduced to provide solutions for Virtual Machine Consolidation in Cloud Data Center. Such Algorithms are usually implemented using many Cloud Simulators, which may have different representation and behavior of cloud infrastructure entities like Data Centers, Physical Machines(PMs), and Virtual Machines(VMs). In this paper, we investigated the impact of using a simulator on the implementation of Cloud infrastructure that is necessary for the Consolidation process, we chose Cloudsim and DISSECTCF simulators in particular since they both support Cloud infrastructure entities. Our aim is to find common entities for cloud simulators that are necessary to build the same infrastructure with particular interest on monitoring the CPU utilization and energy consumption.
