BackgroundGlobal surgery research efforts have been criticized for failure to transition from problem identification to intervention implementation. We developed a context-appropriate trauma quality improvement (TQI) bundle to ameliorate care gaps at a regional referral hospital in Cameroon. We determined associations between bundle implementation and improvement in trauma resuscitation practices.MethodsWe implemented a TQI bundle consisting of a hospital-specific trauma protocol, staff training, a trauma checklist, provision of essential emergency trauma supplies in the resuscitation area, and monthly quality improvement meetings. We compared trends in target process measures (e.g., frequency and timing of vital sign collection and primary survey interventions) in the six-month period pre- and post-bundle implementation using Wilcoxon rank-sum and Fisher's exact tests.ResultsWe compared 246 pre-bundle patients with 203 post-bundle patients. Post-bundle patients experienced a greater proportion of all vital signs collected compared to the pre-intervention cohort (0 % pre-bundle vs. 69 % post-bundle, p < 0.001); specifically, the proportion of respiratory rate (0.8 % pre-bundle vs. 76 % post-bundle, p < 0.001) and temperature (7 % pre-bundle vs. 91 % post-bundle, p < 0.001) vital sign collection significantly increased. The post-bundle cohort had vital signs measured sooner (74 % vital signs measured within 15 min of arrival pre-bundle vs. 90 % post-bundle, p < 0.001) and more frequently per patient (7 % repeated vitals pre-bundle vs 52 % post-bundle, p < 0.001). Key primary survey interventions such as respiratory interventions (1 % pre-bundle vs. 8 % post-bundle, p < 0.001) and cervical collar placement (0 % pre-bundle vs. 7 % post-bundle, p < 0.001) also increased in the post-bundle cohort.ConclusionsThe implementation of a context-appropriate TQI bundle was associated with significant improvements in previously identified trauma care deficits at a single regional hospital. Data-derived interventions targeting frontline capacity at the local level can bridge the gap between identifying care limitations and improvement in resource-limited settings.

BACKGROUND: The TAND (Tuberous Sclerosis Complex [TSC]-Associated Neuropsychiatric Disorders) Checklist was developed as a clinical screener for neurodevelopmental disorders in TSC. Most studies have described patterns in older children and adults. This study sought to better understand behavioral concerns as measured by the TAND Checklist in young children with TSC. METHODS: We examined patterns of caregiver responses to the TAND Checklist in 90 toddlers with TSC (12 to 23 months n = 60; 24 to 36 months n = 30) through data collected during baseline visits across two TSC early intervention studies. RESULTS: Over 90% of caregivers reported at least one behavioral concern related to TAND. The number of concerns increased with age. Delayed language was the most frequently reported concern across ages (12 to 23 months: 58.3%, 24 to 36 months: 86.7%). Questions related to behavioral concerns were largely relevant in this age range, but questions in other areas, such as neuropsychological or academic function, were not. CONCLUSIONS: TAND symptoms are very common in toddlers with TSC, and these symptoms may increase with age. The TAND Checklist is a useful tool for identifying behavioral concerns efficiently, but several items and sections are not suited to younger children. Results support the development of an abbreviated form of the TAND Checklist for toddlers.

An updated version of the ‘Checklist of the Italian Fauna’ for the suborder Heteroptera (Insecta: Hemiptera) is presented here. The list reflects the state of art of chorological knowledge of both aquatic and terrestrial Italian Heteroptera in November 2020. The checklist records 1395 species-group taxa belonging to 6 infraorders and 48 families. The total number of species-group taxa includes 44 taxa currently considered endemic to Italy, 12 subendemic, 13 introduced and 10 cryptogenic. The distribution of Italian Heteroptera in the new checklist is based on the subdivision of Italy in two macro-regions, Continental Italy and Peninsular Italy, and two major islands, Sicily and Sardinia. Compared to the previous Checklist by Faraci & Rizzotti Vlach, published in 1995, the new one contains nomenclatural changes, additions and exclusions of species based on the perusal of 220 literature sources. The main changes concern the families Miridae (21 synonymies, 26 exclusions and 34 additions), Rhyparochromidae (15 exclusions and 14 additions) and Pentatomidae (13 exclusions and 5 additions). Explanatory notes are provided for all the updates of the new checklist. The full data set is attached to this paper as supplementary files, while a simplified version is freely accessible from the LifeWatch Italy Data Portal (https://dataportal.lifewatchitaly.eu/data) where it is expected to be regularly updated.

This study aims to explore the psychometric properties of the Jordanian version of the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers-Revised (M-Chat-R/F). The Jordanian version of M-CHAT-R/F was administered within the Jordanian context among 134 children aged between 6 and 30 months; 37 were diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and 97 were without ASD. The M-CHAT-R/F consists of the modified Autism Spectrum Screening Questionnaire (ASSQ) and a follow-up model. The results revealed that M-Chat-R/F demonstrates acceptable levels of validity and reliability. The content validity was deemed suitable for the Jordanian environment, and the construct validity showed that items relying on a single factor reached saturation. The results also revealed acceptable levels of reliability, with Pearson correlation coefficients ranging between 0.209 and 0.693, all positive, high, and statistically significant. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.870, the sensitivity coefficient was 0.786, and the specificity coefficient was 0.957, indicating the checklist's ability to classify cases of ASD in children. In conclusion, the M-CHAT-R/F is a highly valid and reliable instrument that can effectively classify cases of ASD in children aged between 16 and 30 months. A score of 6 or below on the checklist indicates a high probability of ASD, reaffirming the confidence in the potential of the M-CHAT-R/F checklist for healthcare professionals in the field of child development and autism spectrum disorders. Finally, this study emphasizes that the Jordanian version of M-Chat-R/F is a screening rather than a standardized diagnostic tool for ASD, underscoring the need for further validation. Simple Summary: Transurethral resection of bladder tumour (TURBT) is a ubiquitous and essential procedure in the diagnosis and treatment of bladder cancer. Our systematic review of the use of standardised surgical checklists in this procedure has shown an overall improvement in oncological outcomes for bladder cancer patients. However, we found that the existing checklists were lacking in some areas. Based on our findings, we propose an optimised 14-item checklist for implementation in every high-quality TURBT. Context: Surgical checklists have previously been shown to improve surgical quality and patient outcomes. However, their use in transurethral resection of bladder tumour (TURBT), one of the most commonly performed urological procedures, has yet to be explored in depth. Objective: To evaluate the effect of surgical checklist implementation in TURBT on documentation quality, specimen quality, and oncological outcomes according to the existing literature. We then hope to develop an optimised TURBT checklist by identifying the most pertinent parameters for inclusion. Evidence acquisition: A literature search using PubMed was performed to identify literature pertaining to the use of surgical checklists in the context of TURBT. A systematic review was then performed on the 41 identified studies, of which six were included in the final analysis. Evidence synthesis: We explored three primary outcomes that arose from the literature, namely: (1) comprehensiveness of documentation; (2) resection quality; and (3) recurrence rates and recurrence-free survival (RFS). We found agreement in the literature that surgical checklist implementation does lead to an overall improvement in documentation. The effect of surgical checklists on resection quality and recurrence rates, however, was mixed in the literature, with some studies showing statistically significant improvements and others showing no significant change. Conclusions: There are multiple benefits to surgical checklist implementation in TURBT procedures. We propose an optimised 14-item surgical checklist that should be implemented in every TURBT report to ensure sufficient information documentation for risk stratification and post-operative management. The Nymphalidae family of butterflies represents a captivating mosaic of species, not only captivating in their appearance but also serving as vital indicators of ecosystem health and biodiversity. In this study, we present an updated checklist of the Nymphalidae species inhabiting Uttar Pradesh State, India, encompassing a total of 58 species. Notably, we report four previously unrecorded species in the Uttar Pradesh region: Charaxes bharata C. and R. Felder; Charaxes agrarius Swinhoe; Athyma perius Linnaeus and Athyma inara Westwood. This paper is intended to support hand surgeons who, at the beginning of their research career, are planning a clinical study. Besides establishing the research methodology of the study, the organizational planning of the work itself is essential. A feasibility analysis carried out before or during the writing of the study protocol helps to estimate the required resources and duration of a project. Sea bottom sampling of the Skerki Bank in the Strait of Sicily updates the census of marine molluscs inhabiting a biogeographically key sector of the Mediterranean Basin. One single dredge haul at 112-m depth yielded 110 molluscan species belonging to Gastropoda, Bivalvia, and Scaphopoda, of which 41 are new records for Tunisian jurisdictional waters, including three gastropod species new to science. Nearly all the species are shared with the fauna inhabiting the adjacent Italian waters, and most of them are reported also from Malta. We stress that sites characterized by a relevant species richness, diagnosed by hosting more than 100 species, inclusive of rare taxa, are important areas for conservation in need of adequate management. The coast of Bahia state is the longest along the Brazilian coastline, and there are significant knowledge gaps concerning its estuarine fish fauna. Thus, there is a need to provide extensive coverage of the estuarine ichthyofauna of Bahia to provide an updated checklist of its fishes, which could function as a database for the management of such biodiversity. Therefore, this study aimed to characterize three different important estuarine systems (Camamu, Todos os Santos Bay, and Caravelas) in Bahia to contribute information on the ichthyofauna in shallow areas of the state. We recorded 29 orders, 54 families, 101 genera, and 147 species of fish. The families with the highest number of species were Sciaenidae and Carangidae, with twelve and nine species, respectively, followed by Gobiidae and Engraulidae, each with eight species. In terms of abundance in the northern region, the orders Atheriniformes (28.80%), Pleuronectiformes (15.92%), Clupeiformes (14.20%), and Gerreiformes (13.91%) predominated. In the Central region, Gerreiformes (21.55%), Tetraodontiformes (17.94%), Gobiiformes (12.83%), and Clupeiformes (8.94%) were the most representative. In the southern region, the orders Clupeiformes (57.48%), Mugiliformes (14.09%), Atheriniformes (4.10%), Lutjaniformes (3.97%), Gerreiformes (3.60%), and Carangiformes (2.23%) predominated. Objective To assess the association between use of an oxytocin decision support checklist with oxytocin usage and clinical outcomes. Study Design We conducted a retrospective cohort study of patients with singleton gestations at 37 0/7 weeks or greater who received oxytocin during labor from October 2012 to February 2017 at an integrated community health care system during three exposure periods: (1) prechecklist; (2) after paper checklist implementation; and (3) after checklist integration into the electronic medical record (EMR). The checklist was a clinical decision support tool to standardize the dosing and management of oxytocin. Thus, our primary outcomes included oxytocin infusion rates and cumulative dose. Secondary outcomes included maternal and neonatal outcomes. We controlled for maternal risk factors with multivariable regression analysis and stratified by mode of delivery. Results A total of 34,269 deliveries were included. Unadjusted analyses showed that compared with prechecklist, deliveries during the paper and EMR-integrated periods had a lower cumulative dose (4,670 ± 6,174 vs. 4,318 ± 5,719 and 4,286 ± 5,579 mU, p < 0.001 for both), lower maximal infusion rate (9.9 ± 6.8 vs. 8.7 ± 5.8 and 8.4 ± 5.6 mU/min, p < 0.001 for both), and longer duration of oxytocin use (576 ± 442 vs. 609 ± 476 and 627 ± 488 minutes, p < 0.001 and p = 0.01, respectively). The unadjusted rates of cesarean, 5-minute Apgar <7, mechanical ventilation, and neonatal hospital length of stay were similar between periods. The adjusted mean difference in time from admission to delivery was longer during the EMR-integrated period compared with prechecklist (3.0 [95% confidence interval: 2.7–3.3] hours, p < 0.001). Conclusion Oxytocin checklist use was associated with decreased oxytocin use patterns at the expense of longer labor times. Findings were more pronounced with EMR integration. Key Points An oxytocin decision support checklist is associated with reduced amounts of oxytocin used. However, checklists were associated with longer duration of oxytocin use and of labor. Eulimidae is a prominent group within the class Gastropoda, comprising 1087 species that have developed specialised symbiotic relationships with all extant echinoderm classes. At least 47 species of eulimids can be found in the waters of Vietnam. Representatives of the genus Pulicicochlea, the species Vitreobalcis tripneusticola, and four new undescribed species were observed for the first time. In this study, we update the existing checklists of Vietnamese eulimids, emphasising the use of molecular barcoding to determine the phylogenetic relationships among the collected species. The classical taxonomy of molluscs relies heavily on the morphology of the shell and radula. The family Eulimidae presents challenges as in many species these features are poorly developed, and molecular phylogenetic methods have proven to be more informative for the taxonomy and systematics of this family. To understand the evolutionary pathways in Eulimidae, we constructed a COI-based phylogenetic tree, which included original sequences primarily from Vietnam and all available sequences for Eulimidae from GenBank. The newly obtained genetic information is crucial for enhancing our understanding of this family of gastropod mollusсs, as well as for any future revisions that may be necessary. Background: The burden of disease (BOD) approach, originating with the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study in the 1990s, has become a cornerstone for population health monitoring. Despite the widespread use of the Disability-Adjusted Life Year (DALY) metric, variations in methodological approaches and reporting inconsistencies hinder comparability across studies. To tackle this issue, we set out to develop guidelines for reporting DALY calculation studies to improve the transparency and comparability of BOD estimates. Methods and Findings: The development of the STROBOD statement began within the European Burden of Disease Network, evolving from initial concepts discussed in workshops and training sessions focused on critical analysis of BOD studies. In 2021, a working group was formed to refine the preliminary version into the final Standardised Reporting of Burden of Disease studies (STROBOD) statement, consisting of 28 items structured across six main sections. These sections cover the title, abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion, and open science, aiming to ensure transparency and standardization in reporting BOD studies. Notably, the methods section of the STROBOD checklist encompasses aspects such as study setting, data inputs and adjustments, DALY calculation methods, uncertainty analyses, and recommendations for reproducibility and transparency. A pilot phase was conducted to test the efficacy of the STROBOD statement, highlighting the importance of providing clear explanations and examples for each reporting item. Conclusions: The inaugural STROBOD statement offers a crucial framework for standardizing reporting in BOD research, with plans for ongoing evaluation and potential revisions based on user feedback. While the current version focuses on general BOD methodology, future iterations may include specialized checklists for distinct applications such as injury or risk factor estimation, reflecting the dynamic nature of this field. The standardization, transparency, and completeness of research papers in animal experimentation and comparative medicine research are crucial for ensuring the credibility, reproducibility, and clinical applicability of research findings. Internationally recognized guidelines, such as the ARRIVE guidelines, serve to standardize animal experimentation and reporting. In China, there is already a comprehensive framework of regulations and standards governing laboratory animal research. However, the practical guidance in these documents remains insufficient to effectively guide Chinese researchers in writing and publishing in vivo animal research papers. To address this gap, the Editorial Board of Laboratory Animals and Comparative Medicine has developed a checklist of publication standards tailored for Chinese scholars, informed by the ARRIVE 2.0 guidelines and Chinese regulations and standards. This checklist is applicable for authors to self-check during manuscript preparation and submission, for peer experts during the review process, for journal editors in pre-publication verification, and for readers to evaluate published works. Most individuals in the general population will be exposed to potentially traumatic situations at some point in their lifespan. There is a strong body of research focusing on the clinical implications of exposure to potentially traumatic situations, but less attention has been given to psychological adjustment following these events. Very few available instruments assess trauma exposure while considering subjective perceptions of both positive and negative features. In this study, 304 adults from the general population, mostly women of middle and high socioeconomic status (mean age = 43), filled in a questionnaire with sociodemographic questions and an adapted version of the Trauma Exposure Checklist, which was originally developed in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Results indicate that most participants have experienced a potentially traumatic event, most prevalently related to violence and/or criminality and to the severe illnesses and deaths of close relatives. Principal components and reliability analyses lent support to a three-factor structure that considers perceptions of internal and external losses and a positive factor that addresses resources and social support. This study is a first step towards advancing our knowledge on the impact of developmental and sociodemographic factors on subjective experiences of psychological crises and, consequently, psychological adjustment throughout the lifespan. Background: Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer and the second highest cause of cancer mortality in Australia. Despite advances in colorectal surgery, anastomotic leak still occurs in low‐risk patients and is a substantial cause of morbidity and mortality. Many operative strategies are used to assess anastomotic integrity such as an air leak test or intraoperative flexible sigmoidoscopy, however an objective anastomotic checklist is yet to be developed and studied. This study aims to develop a photodocumentary anastomotic specific checklist and determine its feasibility for implementation. Methods: Patients undergoing left sided colorectal resections with primary anastomosis without a de‐functioning ileostomy were prospectively included between May 2021 and December 2022. A photographic checklist assessing anastomotic perfusion, integrity via either air test or endoscopic image, evidence of complete operative doughnut specimens and the assessment of tension was implemented. The feasibility of an anastomotic checklist was externally validated by four independent colorectal surgeons from Australia, New Zealand and United States of America. Results: The anastomotic checklist was completed in 44 patients. Mean age was 62 years, with 43% male and mean BMI 28. Operations included high anterior resection (45%), low anterior resection (18%), ultra‐low anterior resection (20%), reversal of Hartmann's (11%). Median length of stay was 4 days. Complications post operatively were documented in six patients with anastomotic leak in 2% and wound infection in 6.8%. Intraclass correlation coefficients were poor amongst all reviewers with air leak and tension having no inter‐reviewer correlation. Conclusion: The introduction of an anastomotic checklist was a feasible tool to systematically assess and document anastomotic integrity. Unfortunately, with the small sample size there was significant discrepancy in inter‐observer variability, and this led to poor correlation regarding which patients were typically high risk requiring a temporary ileostomy. Larger studies on the implementation of an anastomotic checklist will be needed to evaluate if it is an inherently feasible approach and if there is an effect on anastomotic leak. Background: Surgical safety checklists reduce adverse events, but monitoring adherence to checklists is confounded by observation bias. The ORBB platform can monitor checklist compliance and correlate compliance with outcomes. This study aims to evaluate the association between checklist compliance and patient outcomes using the ORBB platform. Methods: This is a retrospective analysis of data from the electronic medical record of cases performed in ORBB-equipped operating rooms at a single quaternary referral center. All patients who did not opt out and underwent surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center in ORBB-equipped rooms from August 2020 to September 2022 were included. The ORBB platform was set-up in five operating rooms and surgical safety checklist compliance was monitored by way of AI-based video review. Results: Overall, 4581 patients were included in this analysis.. Performance on the checklist was associated with lower mortality (OR, 0.96; 95% CI, 0.94–0.98; P < 0.05), and decreased length of stay (estimate [E]: −0.02 days; 95% CI, −0.03 to −0.005; P < 0.05). Performance during "timeouts" was associated with mortality (OR, 0.97; 95% CI, 0.94–0.99; P < 0.05). "Debriefings" were independently associated with mortality (OR, 0.98; 95% CI, 0.96–0.99; P < 0.05), length of stay (Estimate, −0.0009 days; 95% CI, −0.02 to −0.001; P < 0.05), and ICU admission (OR, 0.99; 95% CI, 0.98–0.99; P < 0.05). Conclusion: Procedures performed by surgical teams who performed better on the surgical safety checklist tended to have better outcomes. Introduction: Managing obstetric shoulder dystocia requires swift action using correct maneuvers. However, knowledge of obstetric teams' performance during management of real‐life shoulder dystocia is limited, and the impact of non‐technical skills has not been adequately evaluated. We aimed to analyze videos of teams managing real‐life shoulder dystocia to identify clinical challenges associated with correct management and particular non‐technical skills correlated with high technical performance. Material and Methods: We included 17 videos depicting teams managing shoulder dystocia in two Danish delivery wards, where deliveries were initially handled by midwives, and consultants were available for complications. Delivery rooms contained two or three cameras activated by Bluetooth upon obstetrician entry. Videos were captured 5 min before and after activation. Two obstetricians assessed the videos; technical performances were scored as low (0–59), average (60–84), or high (85–100). Two other assessors evaluated non‐technical skills using the Global Assessment of Team Performance checklist, scoring 6 (poor) to 30 (excellent). We used a spline regression model to explore associations between these two score sets. Inter‐rater agreement was assessed using interclass correlation coefficients. Results: Interclass correlation coefficients were 0.71 (95% confidence interval 0.23–0.89) and 0.82 (95% confidence interval 0.52–0.94) for clinical and non‐technical performances, respectively. Two teams had low technical performance scores; four teams achieved high scores. Teams adhered well to guidelines, demonstrating limited head traction, McRoberts maneuver, and internal rotation maneuvers. Several clinical skills posed challenges, notably recognizing shoulder impaction, applying suprapubic pressure, and discouraging women from pushing. Two non‐technical skills were associated with high technical performance: effective patient communication, with teams calming the mother and guiding her collaboration during internal rotational maneuvers, and situation awareness, where teams promptly mobilized all essential personnel (senior midwife, consultant, pediatric team). Team communication, stress management, and task management skills were not associated with high technical performance. Conclusions: Videos capturing teams managing real‐life shoulder dystocia are an effective tool to reveal challenges with certain technical and non‐technical skills. Teams with high technical performance are associated with effective patient communication and situational awareness. Abstract: Nerve conduction studies are a commonly performed procedure and a core competency for physical medicine and rehabilitation residents. Nerve conduction studies are complex to learn and no standardized training protocols exist across physical medicine and rehabilitation programs. The aims of this study are to standardize training and assessment of resident proficiency in nerve conduction studies skills and to evaluate the impact of an educational intervention on skills development. This was a repeated measures design wherein 36 physical medicine and rehabilitation residents underwent a pretest, followed by a mastery learning-based intervention, including deliberate practice. Residents were then expected to meet or exceed a minimum passing score at posttest. Performance improved from a median score of 4.5/ 66 on the pretest to a median score of 63/66 on the posttest. Thirty three of 36 residents achieved the minimum passing score on the first attempt; three residents required additional deliberate practice and met the minimum passing score on the second attempt. A curriculum featuring deliberate practice dramatically increased checklist scores of residents performing nerve conduction studies. This mastery learning program shows a reliable and reproducible method to achieve procedural competency within a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency program and can shift the curve to allow residents to immediately start performing nerve conduction studies at the start of their clinical experience. • Systematic literature review & expert consensus to identify red flags for raising EGPA suspicion. • EGPA diagnosis is tricky due to its heterogeneity and its overlap with eosinophilic disorders. • Creating an evidence-based checklist with red flags to initiate EGPA diagnosis process. Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA), is a rare ANCA-associated systemic vasculitis. Its overlapping features with other vasculitic or eosinophilic diseases, and the wide and heterogeneous range of clinical manifestations, often result in a delay to diagnosis. To identify red flags that raise a suspicion of EGPA to prompt diagnostic testing and to present an evidence-based clinical checklist tool for use in routine clinical practice. Systematic literature review and expert consensus to identify a list of red flags based on clinical judgement. GRADE applied to generate a strength of recommendation for each red flag and to develop a checklist tool. 86 studies were included. 40 red flags were identified as relevant to raise a suspicion of EGPA and assessed by the experts as being clinically significant. Experts agreed that a diagnosis of EGPA should be considered in a patient aged ≥6 years with a blood eosinophil level >1000 cells/µL if untreated and >500 cells/µL if previously treated with any medication likely to have altered the blood eosinophil count. The presence of asthma and/or nasal polyposis should reinforce a suspicion of EGPA. Red flags of asthma, lung infiltrates, pericarditis, cardiomyopathy, polyneuropathy, biopsy with inflammatory eosinophilic infiltrates, palpable purpura, digital ischaemia and ANCA positivity, usually anti-myeloperoxidase, among others, were identified. The identification of a comprehensive set of red flags could be used to raise a suspicion of EGPA in patients with eosinophilia, providing clinicians with an evidence-based checklist tool that can be integrated into their practice. The aim of this study was to develop a bundle to increase safety of intra-hospital transport in critically ill patients. A qualitative design with Delphi approach was conducted for creation of an intra-hospital transport bundle in 3 steps. First, doctors and nurses were questioned about their encounters with intra-hospital transport incidents. Second, several databases were looked through to find published checklists and recommendations for intra-hospital transport. Third, using this strategy, a bundle was created and reviewed with subject matter experts. The content validity index (CVI), which assesses the degree of expert agreement, was utilized to evaluate each item in the generated bundle. Two evaluation cycles were required before a minimal index could be reached. We looked at the content validity and important weighting of the items. The scale-CVI was calculated using the average of all the elements, and it was 1. The created bundle serves as a framework for directing doctors and nurses during intra-hospital transportation and offers continuity of care to improve patient safety. Background: Huddles are brief team meetings designed to communicate essential information. Safety huddles provide a forum to identify and review patient safety events. In a just culture, everyone is accountable for patient safety. Purpose: The purpose of this project is to discuss safety issues/events at the twice daily bed capacity huddles in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) utilizing a just culture model. Having daily discussions of patient safety and the escalation process for follow-up promotes a just culture. The aims are to improve the unit's culture of safety and learn from patient safety issues. Methods: A just culture model was adopted to promote discussion of safety events during the huddles. A structured checklist of safety events was utilized along with a script of ground rules. Twice a day, a multidisciplinary group gathers to huddle. Nurse leaders facilitate the discussion, track the results, and provide follow-up. Results: The structured safety huddle began in May of 2020 and continues twice daily. All required staff attend. The escalation process is defined and has prevented recurrence of some safety issues. The NICU experienced a 14% increase in favorable results on the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) culture of safety survey since the inception of the structured safety huddles. Implications for Practice and Research: Safety huddle discussions have impacted the culture of safety on this unit. This study's main objective was to characterize the spontaneous vascular flora of the Asjen region and Brikcha forest. It was conducted in the study area Moroccan Atlantic North-1 (Man-1) in 2021-2022. The stratified sampling method combined with the records of the surface and itinerant survey methods were used as a basis to collect floristic data. Three hundred and eighty-four taxa belonging to 270 genera and 80 families were recorded, of which five species distributed among four families were new additions to the flora of the study area: Crepis vesicaria L. subsp. stellata (Ball) Babc and Scorzonera hispanica L. subsp. Hispanica (Asteraceae), Glinus lotoides L. (Molluginaceae), Juniperus oxycedrus L. subsp. oxycedrus (Cupressaceae) and Quercus coccifera L. (Fagaceae). The biological spectrum indicates the dominance of therophytes (47.66%), followed by hemicryptophytes (16.93%). Dicotyledons represent the most dominant systematic group (305 taxa, 79.43%), followed by Monocotyledons (72 taxa, 18.75%). Six families are dominant and represent 46.62% of all identified species: Asteraceae (61 species, 15.89%), Fabaceae (32 species, 8.33%), Poaceae (30 species, 7.81%), Lamiaceae (26 species, 6.77%), Apiaceae (17 species, 4.43%) and Caryophyllaceae (13 species, 3.39%). The most species-rich genus is Plantago, with six species, followed by Teucrium, with five species. The rate of endemism is 6.51%, with 25 species, eight of which are strictly endemic to Morocco. Objective: Individuals with obesity face unique challenges when visiting healthcare providers, including inadequate equipment. These negative care experiences, often exacerbated by weight stigma, frequently lead to mistrust and reluctance to seek future care. Currently, few instruments exist to ensure that an ambulatory clinic is welcoming to patients with obesity. The following clinical environment checklist was created with an aim to identify weaknesses in accommodating individuals of size. Methods: A checklist of equipment considered ideal for the care of patients with obesity was developed through a comprehensive review of the literature and feedback from office staff. Eight ambulatory clinics within an urban Midwest setting were assessed, focusing on their accommodations for patients with obesity. Feedback from clinic staff was incorporated to further refine the checklist. Results: Common equipment deficiencies included extra‐large blood pressure cuffs, wheelchair‐accessible scales, 2XL gowns, and adequate seat dimensions in the waiting area. Healthcare workers reported moral distress for their patients when unable to provide proper care due to these limitations. Newly constructed clinics exhibited better‐equipped facilities for patients with obesity. Conclusions: Many clinics lack proper equipment to accommodate patients with obesity, resulting in negative care experiences. The latest country‐specific regulatory guidance for assessing effectiveness of risk minimization measures (RMM) strategies was identified across five continents—Africa (Egypt, South Africa), Asia (Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore), Europe (EU‐27, United Kingdom), North America (Unites States, Canada) and South America (Brazil)—and compared to the Reporting recommendation Intended for pharmaceutical Risk Minimization Evaluation Studies (RIMES) checklist, developed to assess the quality of effectiveness evaluations and endorsed by the European Network of Centres for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance (ENCePP). RIMES checklist items address study hypothesis, participants, measures, statistical analysis and results. European Medical Agency (EMA) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidance only partially aligned with RIMES, primarily for measures and results. In the absence of country‐specific guidance, most countries recommended following EMA or FDA guidelines; Japan and South Africa mentioned the International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH E2E) guideline; Brazil and China had no guidance/recommendations. The operating room demands well-functioning workflows and optimized communication. Based on the formalization of specific surgical interventions via BPMN, intraoperative checklists can automatically be generated to support the surgical team by the provision of relevant clinical information and situation-dependent assistive functions. While focusing on the surgeon, other actors have not yet been considered. The aim of this work is therefore the extension of the intraoperative checklist to enable role-specific support and improved communication between the actors. The BPMN approach is adapted to depict role-specific surgical steps and clinical information to realize the collaborative, multi-role usage of the checklist. The proof of concept demonstrates the automatic generation of intraoperative checklists which provide relevant information depending on the role. The year 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the discovery of the Burren Green Calamia tridens in Ireland and we provide a complete checklist of the Lepidoptera of the Burren region of western Ireland, the first such list since 1967. The checklist is compiled from published sources and verified records. In total 1,002 species are listed as present in the region up to the end of 2023 which represents 65% of the Irish Lepidoptera fauna. 27 species are only present in the Burren region within Ireland and two of these are only found here within Britain and Ireland. Cerodontha (Dizygomyza) eriophori (first record outside Poland) has been found in a new southernmost locality, similarly as was also Chromatomyia rhaetica Griffiths, 1980. The biodiversity of species of the family Agromyzidae in particular large-sized protected areas of the Gemer region is discussed. Thanks to recent intensive research, the highest number of species was found in the Muránska planina National Park (250) and in the Cerová vrchovina PLA (198), which is significantly more than in the other protected areas of similar extent in Slovakia that have been studied in detail for Diptera up to the present. This article aims to assess the usability of selected map portals with a checklist. The methods employed allowed the author to conduct user experience tests from a longer temporal perspective against a retrospective analysis of the evolution of design techniques for presenting spatial data online. The author performed user experience tests on three versions of Tomice Municipality's geoportal available on the Internet. The desktop and mobile laboratory tests were performed by fourteen experts following a test scenario. The study employs the exploratory approach, inspection method, and System Usability Scale (SUS). The author calculated the Geoportal Overall Quality (GOQ) index to better illustrate the relationships among the subjective perceptions of the usability quality of the three geoportals. The usability results were juxtaposed with performance measurements. Normalised and aggregated results of user experience demonstrated that the expert assessments of the usability of geoportals G1 and G3 on mobile devices were similar despite significant development differences. The overall results under the employed research design have confirmed that geoportal G2 offers the lowest usability in both mobile and desktop modes. The study has demonstrated that some websites can retain usability even considering the dynamic advances in hardware and software despite their design, which is perceived as outdated today. Users still expect well-performing and quick map applications, even if this means limited functionality and usability. Holistically managed urban greenspaces have human and ecological benefits. Butterflies and skippers (Papilionoidea) are particularly sensitive to human impacts and changing environmental conditions and can serve as model organisms for park management. We monitored butterflies across 18 urban parks in Cincinnati, Ohio, to explore the relationship between the amount of forested and non-forested microhabitat and Papilionoidea biodiversity. Transect counts were used to assess Papilionoidea occurrence throughout the summer of 2021. Species richness was found to significantly increase with the amount of non-forested area, while no relationships were found between forested species richness and area or total species richness and total park area. In addition to providing suggestions for urban park microhabitat management, this study updates the species checklist for Hamilton County, Ohio, adding four species. Forty-three species and 433 individuals were sighted during the study. Three species found in Cincinnati Parks were under Ohio Department of Natural Resources conservation status. Background/Objectives: In osteopathy, it becomes necessary to produce high-quality evidence to demonstrate its effectiveness. The aim of this meta-research study is to assess the reporting quality of RCTs published in the osteopathic field. Methods: The protocol was preliminarily registered on the "Open Science Framework (OSF)" website. For reporting, we considered the PRISMA 2020 checklist. We included all the RCTs, published between 2011 and 2023, investigating the effectiveness of Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) in any possible condition. The search process was conducted on four major biomedical databases including PubMed, Central, Scopus and Embase. A data extraction form was implemented to collect all relevant information. The completeness of reporting was calculated as the percentage of adherence to the CONSORT checklist; the Cochrane ROB 2 tool was considered to assess the risk of bias (RoB) in the following five major domains: randomization (D1), interventions (D2), missing data (D3), outcome measurement (D4), selective reporting (D5). Results: A total of 131 studies were included and the overall adherence was 57%, with the worst section being "other information" (42%). Studies with a lower RoB showed higher adherence to the CONSORT. The "results" section presented the highest differences as follows: D1 (−36.7%), D2 (−27.2%), D3 (−21.5%) and D5 (−25.5%). Significant correlations were also found between the preliminary protocol registration, higher journal quartile, publication in hybrid journals and the completeness of reporting (β: 19.22, CI: 14.45–24.00, p < 0.001; β: 5.41; CI: 2.80–8.02, p ≤ 0.001; β: 5.64, CI: 1.06–10.23, p = 0.016, respectively). Conclusions: The adherence to the CONSORT checklist in osteopathic RCTs is lacking. An association was found between a lower completeness of reporting and a higher RoB, a good journal ranking, publication in hybrid journals and a prospective protocol registration. La simulation en santé est une méthode pédagogique reconnue pour l'enseignement et la validation des compétences procédurales chirurgicales. Cette dernière tâche nécessite l'élaboration de grilles d'évaluation adaptées, répondant à différents critères de validité. L'objectif de cette étude était de valider une grille d'évaluation multimodale d'un exercice de suture cutanée complexe, associant la réalisation consécutive d'un nœud manuel, un surjet intradermique et un nœud au porte-aiguille. L'exercice de suture a été proposé sur un modèle de peau synthétique à des participants volontaires après obtention de leur consentement écrit, comprenant 9 étudiants de deuxième cycle d'études médicales, 40 internes de chirurgie de différents niveaux d'expérience, et un groupe de 9 chirurgiens seniors. La grille d'évaluation multimodale associait une check-list, un score de rapidité et une échelle d'évaluation globale de compétence. Chaque exercice était scoré par deux évaluateurs, et ceux des étudiants en médecine ont été filmés et anonymisés pour pouvoir être scorés de façon itérative. La validité de contenu a été testée au travers d'un questionnaire de satisfaction proposé de façon aléatoire aux participants. La grille d'évaluation multimodale a été jugée pertinente ou très pertinente par 98 % des participants, avec une meilleure appréciation pour la check-list que pour l'échelle d'évaluation globale. Sa cohérence interne était forte avec un coefficient α = 0,78, et une bonne corrélation entre les résultats de la check-list et de l'échelle globale (r = 0,79, p < 0,0001). La grille a montré une amélioration constante de la moyenne des scores de 34,4 ± 3,6 pour les novices jusqu'à 47,4 ± 2,5/50 points pour les experts en passant par trois groupes de compétences intermédiaires, et a permis une discrimination significative entre les groupes. La grille multimodale était fiable, avec un coefficient de corrélation de 0,88 pour la fiabilité intra-observateur, et de 0,72 pour la fiabilité inter-observateur. En analyse des sous-scores, l'échelle d'évaluation globale et le score de rapidité étaient plus discriminants que la check-list, et cette dernière montrait une fiabilité légèrement inférieure à l'échelle globale. Malgré sa banalité dans l'exercice de tout chirurgien et son enseignement dans tout cursus de 2e et 3e cycle d'études médicales, la suture et ses composantes techniques ont rarement fait l'objet de publications dédiées à leur validation et à leur évaluation pédagogiques. À ce titre, ce travail sur la grille d'évaluation globale et ses sous-scores a permis d'en montrer les bons critères de validation et de fiabilité. Ils peuvent donc être proposés comme méthode d'évaluation d'un exercice de suture complexe, avec une check-list plus facile d'utilisation même pour des novices et une échelle d'évaluation globale montrant une meilleure capacité de discrimination. Health simulation is a recognized educational method for teaching and validating surgical procedural skills. The latter requires the development of adapted assessment tools, reaching different validity criteria. The aim of this study was to validate a multimodal assessment tool for a complex skin suturing exercise, combining a manual knot, an intradermal linear suturing and a needle holder tied knot. The suturing exercise was realized on a synthetic skin model by voluntary participants after having obtained their written consent, including 9 postgraduate medical students, 40 surgical residents of different levels of experience, and a group of 9 senior surgeons. The multimodal assessment tool (MAT) combined a checklist, a speed score and a global rating scale. Each exercise was scored by two evaluators. Medical students' performances were filmed anonymously so that they could be scored iteratively. Content validity was tested through a satisfaction questionnaire randomly completed by participants. The MAT was considered relevant or very relevant by 98% of the participants, with a better appreciation for the checklist than for the global rating scale. Internal consistency was strong with a Cronbach α coefficient at 0.78, and a good correlation between the results of the checklist and the global rating scale (r = 0.79, P < 0.0001). The MAT showed continuous improvement in mean scores from 34.4 ± 3.6 for novices to 47.4 ± 2.5/50 points for experts, passing through three intermediate levels groups, and allowed for significant discrimination between groups. The MAT was reliable, with a coefficient of correlation set at 0.88 for intra-observer reliability, and 0.72 for inter-observer reliability. On sub score analysis, the global rating scale and the speed score better discriminated between groups than the checklist, the latter moreover showing slightly lower reliability than the global rating scale. Despite its banality in any surgeon's practice and the fact that it is taught from the 2nd cycle of medical studies, suturing and its technical components have rarely been the subject of publications dedicated to the validation of specific assessment tools. Hence, this work on the MAT and its sub scores made it possible to validate them on many validity and reliability criteria. They can therefore be proposed to surgical teachers for evaluating a complex suturing exercise, with a checklist that is easier to use even for novices and a global rating scale showing better discrimination capacity. This is the first study providing an up-to-date account of the alien flora in Uzbekistan and analyzing the relationship between the invasion status (casual, naturalized, invasive) of alien plants in this country and their life histories, regions of origin, and habitat affiliations. The data were collected from literature, herbaria, and field surveys. The checklist includes 252 species, of which 44 are invasive (17.5%), 177 naturalized non-invasive (70.2%, giving 220 naturalized species in total), and 31 casual aliens (12.3%). The family with the highest number of alien species is Asteraceae (53, or 21% of all recorded species), followed by Brassicaceae (21), Poaceae (19), and Solanaceae (15). The most represented genera in the alien flora of Uzbekistan are Amaranthus (8 species), Centaurea, Malva, Solanum, and Vicia (5 each). The majority of the alien flora of Uzbekistan are annuals (138 species, i.e., 57% of the total), followed by perennials (52 species, 21.5%). There are only 13 alien woody species recorded. Invasive species originating from Africa, temperate Asia, and Europe are over-represented, as are naturalized species native to Northern America and Southern America. The majority of species are affiliated with agricultural (204 species) and ruderal habitats (164 species); riparian habitats (68 species) and grasslands (38 species) are also well represented. The pattern of invasions in the country is determined by the interaction of source species pools arriving from native regions, their habitat affiliations, and land use. Our study provides the first step toward science-based management of plant invasions in Uzbekistan. Chalcidid wasps are a diverse group of insects belonging to the order Hymenoptera and family Chalcididae. They are natural biocontrol agents for many agricultural and forestry pests. The present study was undertaken from 2021 to 2023. The objective of this study was to document the Chalcididae diversity from the Chhattisgarh region. Based on this study, the first checklist of chalcidid wasps from Chhattisgarh state is prepared. In total, 71 species of chalcidid wasps were collected from 11 genera falling under four subfamilies. The chalcidid wasps identified belonged to the subfamilies, Chalcidinae, Dirhininae, Epitraninae and Haltichellinae of which, subfamily Haltichellinae was found to be most predominant. Evidence‐based medicine drives patient care decision‐making; thus, accurate and complete reporting in scientific publications is paramount. A checklist for complete reporting of veterinary radiation therapy was proposed in 2012 using the recommendations of the International Commission of Radiation Units and Measurements (ICRU). The purpose of this study is to review the 2012 checklist and propose updates based on changes in technology. Significant technology advancements have gained traction in veterinary medicine, including intensity‐modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and stereotactic radiation therapy (SRT), both of which have related modality‐specific ICRU reporting recommendations. The 2012 checklist and proposed 2024 checklist are then used to assess the completeness of reporting in veterinary radiation oncology publications between 2015 and 2022, of which one hundred and eight publications met the inclusion criteria. Prior to the publication of the 2012 checklist (2005–2010), only nine checklist items showed a good level of completeness in reporting, and from 2015 to 2022, this increased to 16 items. Encouraging and/or requiring the use of reporting checklists at the time of manuscript submission may be responsible for this improvement in reporting. Using the 2024 checklist, which is more relevant to publications discussing IMRT and SRT treatments, only 14 of the analyzed checklist items (34%) show a good level of completeness in reporting, suggesting there is a need for updated guidelines to capture the nuances of advanced techniques. PURPOSE To determine how radiology, nuclear medicine, and medical imaging journals encourage and mandate the use of reporting guidelines for artificial intelligence (AI) in their author and reviewer instructions. METHODS The primary source of journal information and associated citation data used was the Journal Citation Reports (June 2023 release for 2022 citation data; Clarivate Analytics, UK). The first- and second-quartile journals indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded and the Emerging Sources Citation Index were included. The author and reviewer instructions were evaluated by two independent readers, followed by an additional reader for consensus, with the assistance of automatic annotation. Encouragement and submission requirements were systematically analyzed. The reporting guidelines were grouped as AI-specific, related to modeling, and unrelated to modeling. RESULTS Out of 102 journals, 98 were included in this study, and all of them had author instructions. Only five journals (5%) encouraged the authors to follow AI-specific reporting guidelines. Among these, three required a filled-out checklist. Reviewer instructions were found in 16 journals (16%), among which one journal (6%) encouraged the reviewers to follow AI-specific reporting guidelines without submission requirements. The proportions of author and reviewer encouragement for AI-specific reporting guidelines were statistically significantly lower compared with those for other types of guidelines (P < 0.05 for all). Transport and mining machinery cabins are still not well adapted to their users, while checklists for their evaluation are not common in the literature. This article proposes a new checklist for ergonomic evaluation and tests its universality empirically with a sample of 96 transport and mining machine operators. The objective of the article is two-fold. First, the article checks whether there are anthropometric dimension differences between different machines' operators. Second, statistical significance testing regarding items in the proposed checklist is performed to check its universality. Significant differences have not been found between anthropometric dimensions of transport and mining machine operators. Group comparisons prove that mining machines have better ergonomics characteristics of the chair, manual controls and vision field. The recommendation for crane designers is to examine mining machines solutions and analyze the possibility of adapting these solutions, due to anthropometric fit. Context: The failure of the Fundão dam devastated a large area of the Atlantic Forest, causing damage to and loss of riparian forests. Considering all the ecological roles of a terrestrial and freshwater community, it is necessary to understand the functioning of riparian forests and their regenerative potential, which will be decisive in selecting actions to restore these ecosystems, especially Atlantic Forest remnants. Aims: We evaluated the flora and structure of the regenerating stratum in three riparian vegetation remnants along the Rio Doce basin to support the propagation and restoration of the affected environments. Methods: Plots of 5 m × 5 m were made in each area, totalling 77 sampling units. In these plots, all woody individuals with a diameter at soil height (DSH) of at least ≥1 cm and diameter at breast height (1.3 m from the soil) of at least <5 cm were marked, measured (in height and DSH), sampled and identified. Key results: A total of 275 species distributed in 47 families were sampled, with Fabaceae the most diverse family and Siparuna guianensis Aubl. the most abundant species. Variation in β diversity was significant, and composition analysis showed that plots of each area tended to cluster. Principal component analysis and linear models showed that the edaphic parameters were not related to the richness and abundance of species in the sampled areas. Conclusions: The areas sampled here serve as a reference for the restoration of impacted areas. Implications: This study represents an important step towards knowing the species in reference areas for an active and efficient restoration in impacted areas. For an efficient restoration strategy, it is necessary to identify a reference ecosystem that can serve as a guide for planning and obtaining a measure of success. Abstract This study aims to explore the psychometric properties of the Jordanian version of the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers-Revised (M-Chat-R/F). The Jordanian version of M-CHAT-R/F was administered within the Jordanian context among 134 children aged between 6 and 30 months; 37 were diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and 97 were without ASD. The M-CHAT-R/F consists of the modified Autism Spectrum Screening Questionnaire (ASSQ) and a follow-up model. The results revealed that M-Chat-R/F demonstrates acceptable levels of validity and reliability. The content validity was deemed suitable for the Jordanian environment, and the construct validity showed that items relying on a single factor reached saturation. The results also revealed acceptable levels of reliability, with Pearson correlation coefficients ranging between 0.209 and 0.693, all positive, high, and statistically significant. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 0.870, the sensitivity coefficient was 0.786, and the specificity coefficient was 0.957, indicating the checklist's ability to classify cases of ASD in children. In conclusion, the M-CHAT-R/F is a highly valid and reliable instrument that can effectively classify cases of ASD in children aged between 16 and 30 months. A score of 6 or below on the checklist indicates a high probability of ASD, reaffirming the confidence in the potential of the M-CHAT-R/F checklist for healthcare professionals in the field of child development and autism spectrum disorders. Finally, this study emphasizes that the Jordanian version of M-Chat-R/F is a screening rather than a standardized diagnostic tool for ASD, underscoring the need for further validation.

Objetivo: Avaliar as condições estruturais e higiênico-sanitárias das Unidades de Alimentação e Nutrição (UAN) nas instituições de longa permanência para idosos (ILPI) na cidade de Salvador, Bahia. Métodos: Utilizou-se o instrumento adaptado da lista de verificação das Boas Práticas de Fabricação – checklist, da RDC n° 275/02. Os itens avaliados subdividiram-se em cinco blocos e as ILPI foram classificadas segundo o percentual de atendimento dos itens investigados. Resultados: Das 14 ILPI avaliadas, apenas uma atingiu adequação em mais de 75% dos itens analisados, e a grande maioria das instituições atendeu a menos de 50% dos itens da lista de verificação. O bloco 5, referente à documentação das boas práticas, apresentou 79,5% de não conformidade, seguido pelo bloco 3, dos manipuladores, com 56,1%, evidenciando a necessidade da oferta de treinamento em boas práticas. A ausência de nutricionista foi identificada na maioria das ILPI. Conclusão: Grande parte das UAN avaliadas apresentou aspectos estruturais e higiênico-sanitários inadequados, o que poderá influenciar no estado de saúde e nutrição dos idosos. Há necessidade de elaboração e validação de um checklist específico para as ILPI.

Background/Aims Despite the proven benefit of the guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT), it remains underutilized in patients hospitalized with acute heart failure (HF). We aimed to evaluate the impact of the discharge checklist on GDMT installation and the prognosis of HF patients. Methods This study was a single-center, observational study that included all patients admitted for HF from March 2021 to February 2023. The data were retrieved from electronic medical records and discharge checklists. A comparison was conducted between the checklist group and the non-checklist group. The primary endpoint was a composite of all-cause mortality or readmission for HF within 6 months. Results The checklist was completed for 537 patients (checklist group) and not for 187 patients (non-checklist group). The proportion of patients to whom two or more components of GDMT were prescribed was significantly higher in the checklist group than in the non-checklist group (59.6% vs 42.2%, p < 0.001). The checklist group exhibited a significantly lower primary outcome compared to the non-checklist group (27.4% vs. 36.4%, HR 0.73, 95% CI 0.55–0.98, p = 0.036). The effect of the checklist was more prominent in HF with reduced ejection fraction (HR 0.51, 95% CI 0.34–0.77, p = 0.001) than in HF with mildly-reduced and preserved ejection fraction (HR 0.91, 95% CI 0.58–1.42, p = 0.676) (p for interaction = 0.06). Conclusions The implementation of the discharge checklist was associated with an improvement in GDMT prescription and an improved prognosis in patients with HF with reduced ejection fraction.

Purpose – This study aims to examine Saudi female students' attitude toward peer feedback activity in writing classes with a list of questions for the students to follow during the activity, and to investigate the challenges that may prevent the use of such activity in Saudi EFL classes. Design/methodology/approach – This study used a mixed-methods to ensure the credibility of the data and obtain clear descriptions about the topic. The study instruments are (1) Writing Essays, (2) Writing Checklist, (3) Questionnaire and (4) Semi-structured interview. The data were analysis with SPSS and o 10 software. Findings – The study results indicated that students had a positive attitude toward peer feedback with a checklist in EFL writing class. For instance, their second written essay (post) has improved and has fewer mistakes than the first one. Also, most of the participants stated that peer feedback has improved their writing quality and has enhanced their writing awareness of their weaknesses and mistakes. Moreover, the interview had highlighted the main challenges that could affect using peer feedback in writing class. Finally, the results indicate the efficiency of peer feedback with a checklist in similar teaching contexts. Research limitations/implications – The study focused on a small number of participants (30 students). Besides, the study dealt with students at university level only and the study focused on female students. Practical implications – Based on the study finding, it is recommended that peer feedback should be integrated in all EFL writing classes at all levels. Insects have been used as indicators of the state of environmental quality due to their ecological characteristics and role at many different trophic levels. In parcticular, moths are used as indicators to monitor the recovery of vegetation following environmental stress or as early warnings to measure the effects of environmental change at a local scale. For this type of evaluation, timed series of catch data from the same areas are of fundamental importance as reference data. Here we report the results of a year of sampling in areas of the Lucchese Apennines in Tuscany, Italy. These sites were previously sampled in the late 1970s. The results of this annotated list of species show a decrease in the number of species present in the study area that is not compensated by new records not sampled in the past.

Abstract Background The burden of disease (BOD) approach, originating with the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study in the 1990s, has become a cornerstone for population health monitoring. Despite the widespread use of the Disability-Adjusted Life Year (DALY) metric, variations in methodological approaches and reporting inconsistencies hinder comparability across studies. To tackle this issue, we set out to develop guidelines for reporting DALY calculation studies to improve the transparency and comparability of BOD estimates. Methods and Findings The development of the STROBOD statement began within the European Burden of Disease Network, evolving from initial concepts discussed in workshops and training sessions focused on critical analysis of BOD studies. In 2021, a working group was formed to refine the preliminary version into the final Standardised Reporting of Burden of Disease studies (STROBOD) statement, consisting of 28 items structured across six main sections. These sections cover the title, abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion, and open science, aiming to ensure transparency and standardization in reporting BOD studies. Notably, the methods section of the STROBOD checklist encompasses aspects such as study setting, data inputs and adjustments, DALY calculation methods, uncertainty analyses, and recommendations for reproducibility and transparency. A pilot phase was conducted to test the efficacy of the STROBOD statement, highlighting the importance of providing clear explanations and examples for each reporting item. Conclusions The inaugural STROBOD statement offers a crucial framework for standardizing reporting in BOD research, with plans for ongoing evaluation and potential revisions based on user feedback. While the current version focuses on general BOD methodology, future iterations may include specialized checklists for distinct applications such as injury or risk factor estimation, reflecting the dynamic nature of this field.

A report is given on two collections of Muscidae (Diptera) from Georgia, made around the village of Kazbegi (now Stepantsminda) in 1983 and on Mount Kudigora (Lagodekhi Reserve) in 2014. A total of 66 species are newly recorded from Georgia, and a checklist of the 156 species now known from Georgia is given.

According to the Species Catalogue of China, Tibet, China, has more than 1,000 species of bryophytes, showing its remarkably high biodiversity. Amongst them, the Polytrichaceae is one of the largest family, with six genera and 25 species, one subspecies and two varieties reported previously.Based on a field survey and specimen identification, the following species have been newly recorded in the bryoflora of Tibet, namely Oligotrichum obtusatum Broth., Pogonatum contortum (Menzies ex Brid.) Lesq. and Polytrichum sphaerothecium (Besch.) Müll. Hal.

PURPOSE: To determine how radiology, nuclear medicine, and medical imaging journals encourage and mandate the use of reporting guidelines for artificial intelligence (AI) in their author and reviewer instructions. METHODS: The primary source of journal information and associated citation data used was the Journal Citation Reports (June 2023 release for 2022 citation data; Clarivate Analytics, UK). The first-and second-quartile journals indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded and the Emerging Sources Citation Index were included. The author and reviewer instructions were evaluated by two independent readers, followed by an additional reader for consensus, with the assistance of automatic annotation. Encouragement and submission requirements were systematically analyzed. The reporting guidelines were grouped as AI-specific, related to modeling, and unrelated to modeling. RESULTS: Out of 102 journals, 98 were included in this study, and all of them had author instructions. Only five journals (5%) encouraged the authors to follow AI-specific reporting guidelines. Among these, three required a filled-out checklist. Reviewer instructions were found in 16 journals (16%), among which one journal (6%) encouraged the reviewers to follow AI-specific reporting guidelines without submission requirements. The proportions of author and reviewer encouragement for AI-specific reporting guidelines were statistically significantly lower compared with those for other types of guidelines (P < 0.05 for all).
