Even today, many schools and high schools in our country do not have an appropriate material base. Taking into account this aspect in this study we tried to focus on certain means that can be put into practice in any school or high school. In addition to the material aspect, given the fact that at the age of 10th grade students the main concern is the physical aspect, I considered the fact that the development of strength motor skills quality through calisthenics exercises is a current theme and worth developing. From our point of view, exercises that use your own body weight are the best choice regardless of the situation. We assume that by using them in a scientific way we achieve efficiency regardless of the available space, without the need for materials and installations. The risk of injury is low and the motor density is increased. In conclusion, we can say that we managed to show how effective is the application of calisthenics exercises for the development of muscle strength.

Living in a world of hectic schedule between work and personal life has made many individuals difficult to find time for exercising and keep track their fitness progress. Memberships for gym nowadays is costly and even hiring a personal trainer is not everyone can afford. Due to these challenges, this paper introduces a fitness tracker mobile application named iCalFit that assists users in managing their calisthenics exercises routine and encourage individuals to engage in exercises despite their constrained time and resources. The application provides guides for calisthenics exercises, tracking users’ exercises, its calorie loss and reminders. Development methodology involved three main phases which are requirement identification, design and development and testing. The assessment of the mobile application is based on technology acceptance model, that considers three main components: Intention of Use (IU), Perceive Usefulness (PU) and Attitude (A). The questionnaire covers 15 questions distributed over to 31 randomly selected participants. PU had gained highest score out of three components, proven that the mobile application developed is efficient and capable of assisting user during exercise routine. The development of iCalFit is believed that it can solve individuals with limited fitness opportunities and drives for a healthy lifestyle.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of calisthenic strength exercises in Physical Education classes on morphological and functional adaptations in school children. Thirty-nine youth, including both genders, in grades seventh and eighth were assigned to one of two groups: Control (CG = 19) and Calisthenics (CaG = 20). The intervention was performed twice per week, during 12 wks. The measurements were applied at pre- and post-intervention, including body mass index (BMI), push-ups in 1 min (PUS), curl-ups in 1 min (CUR), horizontal jump (HJ), and running speed in 50 m (speed). The PUS and CUR increased for boys and girls in the CaG and decreased in the CG. The HJ did not change in either group, however the % change was significantly higher in the CaG than in the CG. Speed decreased in both groups for boys and girls. Neither group showed significant differences in BMI. The findings indicate that the traditional Physical Education classes are inefficient for improving morpho-functional adaptations after 12 wks and even result in a decrease in strength performance. The addition of calisthenic strength exercises improved strength levels of these school children. For additional benefits on BMI, power, and speed, specific training and additional interventions (e.g., nutritional diet) are necessary and should be included in a wellrounded physical education experience.
