Purpose: The purpose of the present work was Altmetrics study of research outputs in the field of social and behavioral sciences in major Iranian universities during 2010-2020. Methodology: The research outputs of the thematic domains of social and behavior of sciences major Iranian universities indexed in the Scopus database were reviewed. This applied research was conducted with a Altmetrics approach. Scopus and Altmetrics Explorer databases were used to collect data. Data analysis was performed using descriptive and inferential statistical tests in Excel software. Findings: Current study revealed Shahid Beheshti, Tehran, Tarbiat Modares, Tabriz, and Shiraz universities, in the field of social sciences, had the most ranks in items of Mentions and Bookmarks. In addition, in all the universities surveyed, the most mentions were on Twitter and the most bookmarks were on Mendeley. Conclusion: Overall, the findings showed that most of the surveyed universities were not in an acceptable position in terms of social media presence and Altmetrics score, indicating the lack of familiarity of the corresponding researchers with the benefits of social media and their low participation in sharing their research outputs on social media. Users commonly report problems in refinding important websites. To address this, some create Bookmarks (also called web Favorites) to improve the refinding of these websites. Previous research notes that these Bookmarks are rarely used. However, these prior studies did not systematically observe and quantify the frequency and success of Bookmark retrievals, or compare their success with other retrieval methods. The authors address those questions in this study using the elicited personal information retrieval technique, in which they asked their 50 participants to retrieve target URLs (uniform resource locators). Each participant received 21 targets, from which five were taken from the participants' Bookmarks, and they were presented in random order to avoid raising suspicions. Although most of the participants created Bookmarks, they rarely used them for retrieval. Across all of the participants, only 41 (16%) of these 250 bookmarked retrieval targets were actually retrieved using the Bookmark facility. Of these 41 instances when Bookmarks were used, only 9 (4%) Bookmarks were retrieved using the Bookmarks menu hierarchy, while the remaining 32 were located in the browser's upper bar, which was in full view of the participants. The results suggest that unless the Bookmarks were highly visible, the participants did not use them. Furthermore, for websites that the users had visited, bookmarked websites were not better retrieved than those that had not been bookmarked. When searching for information on the Internet, it can be stored in a bookmarking system. The ability to organize this information in such a system depends on one's own prior knowledge to create an appropriate classification scheme. Providing a classification system for bookmarks might support people with low prior knowledge. Even though different bookmarking systems exist, hierarchical menus and tagging are being most widely used. In the current exploratory study with 95 ninth-grade students, a 2 × 2 between-subjects design was used to investigate the influence of providing classification support (or not) for either a tagging or a hierarchical system. Results showed that despite the low familiarity with tagging systems, using a hierarchical system is not necessarily a better approach than using a tagging system to organize previously found information. Rather, a tagging system seems to yield storage of fewer but higher-quality information sources. The most important conclusion is that, despite the low familiarity with tagging systems, using a hierarchical system was not beneficial over using a tagging system to organize previously found information. The article focuses on concepts and practices of science are not overshadowed by the integration of design and technologies elements which shows how the design process elements were embedded into this framework. Topics discussed include elements differ slightly to those of the design and technologies component of the Australian Curriculum, synergies between the science and technology elements enabled seamless integration and scientific knowledge was required to understand and explain.

Browsers are applications that allow Internet access. A defining characteristic is their unidirectionality: Navigator-> Internet. The purpose of this article is to support the idea of Intelligent Browsers that is defined by bidirectional: Navigator-> Internet and Internet-> Navigator. The fundamental idea is that the Internet contains huge resources of knowledge, but they are “passive”. The purpose of this article is to propose the “activation” of this knowledge so that they, through “Intelligent Browsers”, to become from Sitting Ducks to Active Mentors. Following this idea, the present article proposes changes to Bookmarks function, from the current status of Favorites to Recommendations. The article presents an analysis of the utility of this function (by presenting a research of web browsing behaviors) and in particular finds that the significance of this utility has decreased lately (to the point of becoming almost useless, as will be shown), in terms data-information-knowledge. Finally, it presents the idea of a project which aims to be an applied approach that anticipates the findings of this study and the concept of Intelligent Browsers (or Active Browsers) required in the context of the Big Data concept.

Validating performance standards is challenging and complex. Because of the difficulties associated with collecting evidence related to external criteria, validity arguments rely heavily on evidence related to internal criteria-especially evidence that expert judgments are internally consistent. Given its importance, it is somewhat surprising that evidence of this kind has rarely been published in the context of the widely used bookmark standard-setting procedure. In this article we examined the effect of ordered item booklet difficulty on content experts' bookmark judgments. If panelists make internally consistent judgments, their resultant cut scores should be unaffected by the difficulty of their respective booklets. This internal consistency was not observed: the results suggest that substantial systematic differences in the resultant cut scores can arise when the difficulty of the ordered item booklets varies. In the early 1920s the Cleveland Public Library (CPL) in Ohio, USA, instituted an innovative programme to promote reading of quality fiction and nonfiction relating to current motion picture releases. In advance of Cleveland premieres of new films, CPL received promotional materials from the producers of the films to prepare bookmarks and exhibits that served the dual purpose of advertising the picture and drawing CPL patrons to library materials that related in some way to the films. Local movie theatre owners also sponsored the printing of bookmarks listing these related resources and helped to distribute them at their theatres and other public locations around the region. Through these ‘movie tie-ups’, the library hoped to guide Clevelanders to the best books and increase circulation. Lasting more than three decades, the programme was hugely influential on similar programmes established elsewhere and serves as a fascinating early example of private–public cooperation. The article discusses the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) life science standard Interdependent Relationships in Ecosystems (2-LS2) that requires second graders to develop an understanding of the diversity of living things in a variety of habitats. Topics discussed include suggestion for teachers to use read-alouds during science, Miguel Kagan's book on higher-level thinking and provide students with a bookmark containing question prompts.

This paper describes an index and target periods to generate a novel abstract for each reading progress. As reading a long novel, the reading is often interrupted as putting a bookmark into the book. Sometimes, the information described in the read part is forgotten away from the reader’s memory. Then the abstract for each reading progress is effective to remind the reader of the story. The goal of this study is to automatically generate the abstract for each reading progress. In this paper, the difference of the word importance before and after bookmark is considered as the index to select the sentences for the abstract. Also, from where the sentences should be selected is compared as discussing the output results. Through the experiment, it was confirmed that the abstract in which the sentences were selected from the period just before the bookmark was better than the abstract generated from all part of the past story. Moreover, it was suggested that not paragraphs but sentences might be appropriate unit to generate the abstract for each reading progress. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The recent interest in avant-garde art from Hungary shown by international museums such as Tate has been paralleled by transformations to the country’s art institutions as a consequence of sweeping political changes. This essay contextualises these changes in relation to the expanding global market for art from the region, and examines the impact that initiatives by private galleries as well as artists and curators are having on the writing of a critical history of Hungarian art.
