This study aimed to determine the effect of Mimosa invisa L. weed extract application and a low dose of NPK fertilizer on the intensity of pest attack and pathogen infection on upland rice. This research has been done using Split Plot Design with 3 replications. The main plot was the dose of NPK fertilizer (50% and 100% NPK). The subplot was the concentration of weed extract (0, 1.25, 1.67, 2.5, and 5% concentrations). The variables observed include the intensity of grasshopper and case worm attack, Cercospora sp. that causes brown spots, and Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae that causes bacterial leaf blight. The results showed that the application of weed extract under a low dose (50% NPK) has not been able to suppress the intensity of grasshopper and case worm attacks, and the intensity of the pathogen causes brown spots and bacterial leaf blight. However, 2,5% and 5% concentrations of weed extract can potentially suppress pathogen infection that causes brown spots on upland rice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Pestisida alami adalah pestisida yang bahan dasarnya berasal dari tumbuhan, untuk mengurangi resistensi dan residu di lingkungan. Salah satu yang digunakan sebagai bahan pembuatan pestisida adalah sampah puntung rokok yang digunakan dari sampah puntung rokok ini yaitu daun tembakaunya yang mengandung nikotin alkaloid yang merupakan racun yang sangat cepat untuk beberapa jenis serangga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan penggunaan pestisida alami terhadap jumlah kematian belalang. Bahan yang digunakan adalah tembakau dari sampah puntung rokok yang direndam dengan aquades selama 24 jam dengan penyemprotan menggunakan dosis 50g-59g dengan hewan uji masing-masing 15 ekor belalang. Jenis penelitian ini bersifat eksperimen dan pengolahan data menggunakan Korelasi, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan jumlah belalang yang mati dari setiap dosis hampir sama yaitu dosis 50-55gr jumlah kematian belalang 1 ekor (6,7%), dan dosis 56gr jumlah kematian belalang 2 ekor (13,3%) dari 15 ekor belalang, serta dosis 50-59gr jumlah kematian belalang 3 ekor (20%) dari 15 ekor belalang. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan yang signifikan kematian jumlah belalang yang mati dengan perlakuan 10 dosis 50g-59g yaitu (p = 0,001). Natural pesticide is a pesticide that essentially derived from the plant to reduce resistance and residues in the environment. One of the used as a materials for pesticide is rubbish cigarette, the used of rubbish cigarette that is leaf of tobacco containing nicotine alkaloid is toxic that very fast for some kinds of insects. This research aims to determine wheteher there are significant effects dose natural pesticides against the number of the death of the grasshoppers. The material is tobacco from cigarette stub rubbish. It is soaked in distilled water for 24 hours spraying with using the dose of 50 grams until 59 grams with a test of each 15 grasshopper. This research is an experiment and data processing using correlation the results of the research show the number of dead grasshopper of each dose is almost the same dose of 50 until 55grams with the number of dead one grasshopper (6.7%) and the dose 56 grams number of dead two grasshoppers (13.3%) from 15 grasshoppers then the dose of 50 until 59grams number of dead three grasshoppers (20%) from 15 grasshoppers. The conclusion from the research there are a significant number of dead grasshopper with a treatment 10 doses of 50grams until 59grams.

Parasitoid telur, Scelio pembertoni Timberlake (Hymenoptera: Scelionidae), merupakan endoparasitoid obligat pada telur Acrididae. Inang yang sering diparasitisasi oleh S. pembertoni ialah telur Oxya japonica (Thunberg (Orthoptera: Acrididae). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perkembangan stadia larva, lama hidup, dan keperidian, serta preferensi imago S. pembertoni terhadap umur telur inang yang berbeda. S. pembertoni diperoleh dari telur O. japonica yang diambil dari pertanaman talas dan talas liar di wilayah Bogor. Fase perkembangan S. pembertoni terdiri atas telur, stadia larva instar satu dan instar dua, stadia prapupa dan pupa, dan stadia imago. Larva instar satu bertipe teleaform dan berwarna putih transparan. Larva instar dua bertipe hymenopteriform dan berwarna putih transparan. Stadia pradewasa S. pembertoni di laboratorium berkisar antara 27–33 hari, dengan periode perkembangan telur, stadia instar satu, instar dua, prapupa, dan pupa ialah 1,80, 4,95, 4,25, 5,40, dan 12,85 hari untuk masing-masing stadia. Lama hidup betina adalah 7–17 hari, sedangkan lama hidup jantan adalah 3–11 hari. Rata-rata keperidian betina ialah 29,53 butir telur. Nisbah kelamin (jantan terhadap betina) S. pembertoni selama penelitian di laboratorium adalah 1 : 3,19. Tingkat parasitisasi dan jumlah keturunan yang dihasilkan oleh S. pembertoni lebih tinggi pada telur berumur muda daripada umur telur inang yang lebih tua.
