The well-being of children is an explicit goal for both professionals and politicians who seek to set the direction for a sound childhood. However, a major barrier to working with and collaborating on children's well-being is the ambiguity about how well-being appears and is understood in children's everyday lives and in the field of research. Based on an integrative literature review, this article uncovers the field of research on children's well-being in and across day care, school and home in a Scandinavian context. In our analyzes, we have identified 8 different ways of understanding well-being and present a synthesis, where we show the different contexts' primary understanding of and focus in the work with children's well-being. The purpose of the article is to contribute to an increased clarity about well-being as both a concept and a phenomenon. The hope is that the field of practice - based on research - can become clearer on how to understand and work with well-being for every child.

Why it is better never to come into existence Not coming into existence would be good, since existence has no net advantage over non-existence. Indeed, the presence of pain is bad, and the presence of pleasure is good for every existent. However, an equivalent symmetrical consideration does not apply to the absence of pain and pleasure. Indeed, the absence of pain is good even if there is no one to experience that absence, while the absence of pleasure is not bad if there is nobody to be deprived of that pleasure. The argument just presented forms the core of the article, along with other considerations about the preferability of not bringing children into the world, the quality of human life, the unreliability of subjective judgments about one's existential condition, the preferability to phase human extinction

Although British playwright Edward Bond is well known for his early plays during the 1960s–80s, his later works, from the late 1990s onward, have been relatively overlooked and underexplored. In this article, I aim to bridge these two phases and propose a theoretical framework to approach Bond's evolution as a playwright. I will first examine Bond's critical engagement with Brecht, and then I will proceed to analyse Bond's evolving dramaturgy of the Holocaust, which will help to demonstrate how Bond has developed what we might call his post-Auschwitz dramaturgy. While criticizing Brecht's theatre for being the "Theatre of Auschwitz," Bond bases his post-Brechtian dramaturgy on his specific understanding of the infamous Nazi concentration camp. Bond regards Auschwitz as not only a localized historical event but also a trans-historical structure of biopolitics, manifested in both the camp and an ensuing neoliberal capitalist system. By drawing on two pivotal passages of the Palermo improvisation (which took place in 1983) and the Russian guard's story, both of which Bond describes in "Commentary on The War Plays" (1991), I will elucidate how these examples herald a "post-Auschwitz" dramaturgical model that can be understood through Emmanuel Levinas's ethics and Giorgio Agamben's biopolitics. Building on this analysis, I will analyse Bond's plays The Crime of the Twenty-First Century (1999) and Born (2006) to argue that it is the dissonance between the biopolitical paradigm exemplified in Auschwitz and the human subject's fundamental creativity that defines Bond's later works. English abstract: This research investigates how social law cases concerning disability-related welfare compensation take into account the views and experiences of children and young people with disabilities. This analysis is grounded in the principles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). By employing a complementary methodological approach of legal dogmatics and socio-legal methods, the research explores the practical implementation of this right within the context of social law cases in Denmark. This approach acknowledges the limitations of solely relying on applicable law, particularly in situations with limited case law. The research is driven by the author's professional experience as caseworker for children with disabilities. These experiences revealed a concerning gap between legal requirements and practices regarding child participation in disability-related social cases. By highlighting this gap, the thesis emphasizes the need for improved practices to ensure all children have a voice in decisions affecting their lives in accordance with Denmark's human rights commitments. With the recent enactment of the Child's Law in Denmark in 2024, which underscores the importance of children's right to participation in decision making impacting their daily lives, it becomes increasingly crucial to investigate the practical implementation of this right. Therefore, this research examines reports from the Danish Board of Appeals, statements from the Parliamentary Ombudsman, and relevant administrative decisions to assess how the right to participation for children and young people with disabilities has been weighed thus far. Additionally, the thesis draws parallels with judgments from the European Court of Human Rights. The analysis focuses specifically on social law cases concerning disability-related welfare compensation for children and their families. The analysis revealed that, de

- Abstract
As a result of the current Danish Psychiatry Act many of the safeguards of the Psychiatry Act do not apply to children under the age of 15, when the holder of parental authority has consented to the use of the psychiatric measure. In the Concluding observations on the fifth periodic report of Denmark the Committee on the Rights of the Child have recommended that Denmark ensure that the safeguards of the Psychiatry Act also apply to children under 15 years of age. Along with the goals set in the government's 10-year plan for psychiatric health care, the government wishes to strengthen the access to the safeguards of the Psychiatric Act for children under the age of 15. In order to strengthen the access to the safeguards of the Psychiatric Act for children under the age of 15, the government has proposed Bill L 128. This paper examines what effect the proposed Bill L 128 will have on the access to the safeguards of the Psychiatric Act for children under the age of 15, when they have been exposed to psychiatric measures. This is done through the legal dogmatic method and the comparative method. This project concludes that the limited access that children under the age of 15 with the current Psychiatry Act have too many of the safeguards of Psychiatry Act, when the holder of parental authority have consented to the use of the psychiatric measure, will have a negative influence on legal certainty for this group of patients. The paper furthermore concludes that if the Bill L 128 is adopted children under the age of 15 will gain a better access to the safeguards of Psychiatry Act and an adoption of Bill L 128 would therefore have a positive influence on the legal certainty of this group of people. Furthermore, an adoption of Bill 128 would also resolve a big part of uncertainty that is a result of the current legal position, which would also secure a better legal certainty for children under the age of 15. An adoption of Bill 128 would resolve the criticism raised by the C

- Abstract
This paper states and gives three applications of a novel ‘Presentist Fragmentalist’ interpretation of quantum mechanics. In a cognate paper it was explicitly shown this kind of presentism is consistent with special relativity and that it has implications for how to understand time as it relates to the Big Bang (Merriam in Axiomathes, , 2021). In this paper we narrowly focus on three applications. These are surely the most important conundrums for any proposed interpretation of quantum mechanics: Schrodinger’s Cat, Bell non-locality, and the Born rule. It will be shown that these can be handled in a consistent and intuitive way. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

English abstract To Explore Play in School based on an Ecologic Perspective Based on a design-based research project and long-term observations of children’s play in school, this article develops the concept of play order, which points to interaction, coherence, and holistic orientation as central values for an approach to play in school. Through empirical reflections, we shows how play in school is established and maintained, and how the school as a context interacts with play. Based on existing research, we are critical of the tendency to afford play a secondary meaning in school as well as of the use of play as a didactic tool for learning. We link our work to existing play theory, but since we work from the concept of play order, we are able to look holistically at how play in school can be integrated and provided for. As pedagogues to a high extent work in schools and in teaching, and SFO handles schooling tasks, we emphasize that play is worthy of recognition in practice and theory.

Objective: We delve into the rapid internationalization literature to provide a literature review on the most recent empirical research on international new ventures (INVs). We focus on reporting how the literature on INVs has evolved through the lenses of case studies, and we highlight issues on the use of INVs concepts. Method: We conducted a systematic review of 99 case studies articles related to international new ventures published in leading journals in all areas of knowledge within management. We performed a two-cycle coding and a thematic analysis. Main Results: We have found researchers are applying INV and BG concepts interchangeably, thus incorrectly. Scholars have not considered nor discussed the theoretical implications of dropping and adding criteria when selecting cases. We also found the research in INV has thematically evolved as scholars have increasingly studied the post-internationalization moment of these companies. Relevance/originality: We contribute to the INV's literature by demonstrating the theory is now evolving to understand the post-internationalization moment of these companies. We also discuss the implication of selecting cases disregarding the criteria that qualify them as INVs. Theoretical/methodological contributions: Our research contributes with a discussion on the implications of loosely applying the INVs concepts and offers insights on how the literature has evolved. - Abstract
In recent times, Medical Information and Processing deals with various methodologies utilized for the prognosis and diagnosis of various harmful diseases with the help of trending artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques. Breast cancer is one of such disease which occupies the major share in killing the millions of people especially women. Several intelligent methods were proposed for an efficient diagnosis of breast cancer, but brighter light of research is required for better diagnosis. Hence the new methodology of integrating the run length features along with the Bat optimized learning Machines—BORN has been proposed. BORN also features the most efficient visual saliency segmentation process to obtain highly efficient diagnosis. The main aim of the proposed BORN algorithm is to diagnosis the different stages of breast cancer with high accuracy and minimal error. For attaining the high accuracy, BORN has been tested with two different datasets MIAS and DDSM with different learning kernels and compared with the other intelligent algorithms such as RF-ELM, EGAM and Associate Classifiers in which accuracy of the proposed classifier is 99.5%. The aim of this study is to report a long term follow up of a congenital luxation of the radial head (CLRH) case of a young Bulldog treated by radio head ostectomy (RHO). CLRH is an uncommon condition in dogs, but it is the most commom form of elbow dislocation (grade I). An English Bulldog, male, 6 months, 14 kilograms, was suspected of elbow dislocation. Physical examination revealed a lateral proeminence on the lateral surface of the right elbow, as well as grade I lameness and mild pain. Range of motion was normal. Previous radiographs and tomography confirmed CLHR. RHO was chosen instead of corrective techniques, due to the age of the animal at the time of the procedure and the difficulty in repositioning the radial head in the joint. Three and a half years after surgery, new clinical and radiographic examaminations were performed. The patient had no pain, good limb support and good range of motion, allowing good elbow movement. There was a partial regrowth of the proximal segment of the radial head causing better readjustment of it in the joint. Mild signs of joint degeneration were present. RHO proved to be effective in this case, proving to be a good technique to be used in cases of CLRH when conservative treatment or reduction techniques can no longer be used. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
This article analyzes how the two figures ‘healthy boy’ and ‘invalid girl’ are negotiated visually at the end of the nineteenth century and how the idea of being healthy or the opposite relates to these two figures. The center of the analysis are illustrations of invalid girls and healthy boys printed in the Scandinavian periodical Nordisk Illustreret Børneblad. The article pays attention to how the two figures are portrayed and examine which images of health and illness, parents and their children were presented to. The argument is that there is a close connection between the visual idea of the invalid girl and the healthy boy and the popular medical literature in the period, and that the idea of the invalid girl was being communicated not only in the paintings of the period but also as reproductions e.g. in children’s periodicals and thereby reached a larger audience. Direct laser deposition of a mixture of titanium (Ti) and boron-carbide (B 4 C), using the laser engineered net shaping process, results in a complex multi-phase Ti matrix composite due to the incipient interfacial reactions between liquid titanium and solid/partially melted B 4 C. Detailed microstructural characterization, at multiple length scales, reveals that titanium boride (TiB) precipitates are the initial reaction product which act as heterogeneous nucleation sites for TiC precipitates. Both the TiB and TiC precipitates in turn act as heterogeneous nucleation sites for fine β-Ti grains, within the retained liquid titanium, which eventually transform into fine equiaxed α-Ti grains comprising the matrix. Due to changing global circumstances in recent years, Iceland has experienced a sharp increase in forced migrant children, youth, and families seeking refuge. The aim of this doctoral thesis was to examine the migration experience of children and youth who claimed asylum in Iceland upon arrival and to explore psychosocial factors' role in their mental health post-migration. The study also examined participants' acculturation strategy preferences, their relationship to mental health outcomes, and whether there was support for the integration hypothesis in Iceland (i.e., integration is related to better mental health outcomes than marginalization). Two assessment interviews (including self-assessment measures) were conducted approximately eight months apart, with children and youth who fled to Iceland between 2016 and 2020. Seventy-five individuals ages 13 to 24 (M = 19.7, SD = 3.0, 67% male) participated during the first interview, while 43 participants (M = 20.16, SD = 3.1, 56% male) remained in the study and were interviewed a second time. The results presented in this thesis give valuable insight into the migration experience of forced migrant children and youth fleeing to Iceland. Study participants were, on average, exposed to numerous stressful life events (SLEs), some of which acted as push factors forcing them to leave their home countries. Low social support and traveling alone were related to greater vulnerability to SLEs exposure. Furthermore, SLEs experiences were related to an increased risk of developing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other psychological symptoms (i.e., anxiety, depression, and externalizing symptoms). PTSD symptoms remained unchanged over two points in time. Still, higher levels of perceived social support from peers were related to less severity of PTSD symptoms. Furthermore, perceived parental social support was positively related to Icelandic language proficiency. Social support, particularly from peers, and fewer PTSD symptoms were also associated with greater mental well-being at time point two. Lastly, iv results support the integration hypothesis in Iceland as participants who favored integration showed the best mental health outcomes (i.e., fewer PTSD and depression symptoms), and those who preferred (or were forced to choose) marginalization showed the poorest mental health outcomes. These results highlight the importance of social support for a positive migration experience, adaptation process, and mental health and well-being of forced migrant children and youth in Iceland. They also demonstrate that the migration experience of these children and youth is a dynamic process involving a confluence of factors occurring during pre-migration, flight, and post-migration, which can impact their lives and mental health. Lastly, they provide needed knowledge on a field of study that has not yet been thoroughly explored in Iceland., Breyttar aðstæður í heiminum á undanförnum árum hafa valdið því að fjöldi barna, ungmenna og fjölskyldna sem leita skjóls á Íslandi fer vaxandi. The primary aim of this study is to examine whether bursting interhemispheric synchrony (bIHS) in the first week of life of infants born extremely preterm, is associated with microstructural development of the corpus callosum (CC) on term equivalent age magnetic resonance imaging scans. The secondary aim is to address the effects of analgesics such as morphine, on bIHS in extremely preterm infants. A total of 25 extremely preterm infants (gestational age [GA] < 28 weeks) were monitored with the continuous two-channel EEG during the first 72 h and after 1 week from birth. bIHS was analyzed using the activation synchrony index (ASI) algorithm. Microstructural development of the CC was assessed at ~ 30 and ~ 40 weeks of postmenstrual age (PMA) using fractional anisotropy (FA) measurements. Multivariable regression analyses were used to assess the primary and secondary aim. Analyses were adjusted for important clinical confounders: morphine, birth weight z-score, and white matter injury score. Due to the reduced sample size, only the most relevant variables, according to literature, were included. ASI was not significantly associated with FA of the CC at 30 weeks PMA and at 40 weeks PMA (p >.5). ASI was positively associated with the administration of morphine (p

A few years ago Westinghouse innovations in PWR technology resulted in a proposal for a new type of integral fuel burnable absorbers containing Gadolinium. Preliminary designs of loading patterns for NPP Krško were made for 18 month fuel cycles with standard VANTAGE+ fuel type containing Integral Fuel Burnable Absorbers (IFBA) with enriched Boron, as well as newly proposed Gadolinium based absorbers. In this paper we investigate the possibility to design 24 month cycle for the NPP Krško with VANTAGE+ fuel type and Gadolinium based integral absorbers. The key fuel cycle parameters are compared to the one based on IFBAs. The analysis is performed by the latest version of FUMACS code package capable of simulating Gadolinium based integral fuel burnable absorbers.

BACKGROUND The role of race within tribal communities is a contentious topic, and some of this acrimony emerged from 19th-century Indian policies rooted in scientific racism. There has been relatively little written on the role of intermarriage within indigenous communities. METHODS We link household data from the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in North Carolina at the turn of the 20th century to individual two-generational family trees located in legal documents to investigate the link between personal property and whether a household head had white ancestry. RESULTS We find that the racial gap in property does not follow simple racial hierarchies but rather depends on the gender of the household head. However, once selection into intermarriage is accounted for, the racial gap in property from intermarriage is eliminated. In fact, households containing a male head with close white ancestors held less property than households containing a male head without white ancestry. CONTRIBUTION Understanding who chose to intermarry and how intermarriages impacted the economic status of both families and their children as adults can provide key insights into understanding racial inequality today. Abstract The SAFT-VR (statistical associating fluid theory of variable range) equation of state is coupled with MSA (mean spherical approximation) in which molecule-ion and coulombic interactions are embedded. Also, the effect of change in dielectric constant is described by Born term as result of solvation. The SAFT-VR parameters for water and metal sulfates are firstly optimized by the experimental data. After this stage, the solubility of MgSO 4 and Al 2 (SO 4) 3 in ternary systems, i.e. MgSO 4 -H 2 SO 4 -H 2 O and Al 2 (SO 4) 3 -H 2 SO 4 -H 2 O, is obtained at high temperatures. Next, the solubility of MgSO 4 is presented in different concentrations of Al 2 (SO 4) 3 in the quaternary systems as H 2 SO 4 –MgSO 4 –Al 2 (SO 4) 3 –H 2 O. Also, the solubility of the other metal sulfate, namely Al 2 (SO 4) 3 , is calculated in the presence of MgSO 4 in this system at 250 °C. Finally, the results of the Ion-SAFT-VR model for ternary systems are compared with the Pitzer and the E -NRTL models. The results show that the Ion-SAFT-VR model can more accurately predict the solubility of metal sulfates in the studied systems than other models. Highlights • The solubility of metal sulfates is determined in different systems. • SAFT-VR equation of state is used for electrolyte systems. • MSA model is applied for ionic species in laterites leach solution. • The value of pH increases in present of magnesium sulfate. • The aluminum sulfate doesn't have any impact on the true acidity. • Leaching behavior was investigated. BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: In infants born very preterm, monitoring of early brain growth could contribute to prediction of later neurodevelopment. Therefore, our aim was to investigate associations between 2 early cranial ultrasound markers (corpus callosum-fastigium and corpus callosum length) and neurodevelopmental outcome and the added value of both markers in the prediction of neurodevelopmental outcome based on neonatal risk factors and head circumference in very preterm infants. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This prospective observational study included 225 infants born at,30 weeks' gestational age, of whom 153 were without any brain injury on cranial ultrasound. Corpus callosum-fastigium and corpus callosum length and head circumference were measured at birth, 29 weeks' gestational age, transfer from the neonatal intensive care unit to a level II hospital, and 2 months' corrected age. We analyzed associations of brain markers and their growth with cognitive, motor, language, and behavioral outcome at 2 years' corrected age. RESULTS: In infants without brain injury, greater corpus callosum-fastigium length at 2 months was associated with better cognitive outcome. Corpus callosum length at 2 months was positively associated with cognitive, motor, and language outcome. Faster growth of the corpus callosum length between birth and 2 months was associated with better cognitive and motor function. Prediction of neurodevelopmental outcome based on neonatal risk factors with or without head circumference was significantly improved by adding corpus callosum length. CONCLUSIONS: Both corpus callosum-fastigium and corpus callosum length on cranial ultrasound are associated with neurodevelopmental outcome of very preterm infants without brain injury at 2 years, but only corpus callosum length shows the added clinical utility in predicting neurodevelopmental outcome.

BackgroundThe most common alternatives in feeding preterm infants are bottle feeding and cup feeding. However, there is no clear and precise clinical evidence to show the superiority of a single method. New studies are needed to eliminate confusion on this subject.AimThe effects of oral feeding methods on the transition to direct-breastfeeding and length of stay in preterm infants.MethodsThis retrospective study was carried out in a single NICU. Data was collected from the digital records and explored the effects of bottle feeding and cup feeding. One hundred fifty-eight preterm infants (30–34 weeks) met the inclusion criteria. Seventy-eight of them were bottle-fed, and eighty of them were cup-fed.ResultsStatistical analysis (Mann-Whitney U test and t-test) has shown that there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups (bottle & cup) in terms of transition to direct-breastfeeding and length of hospital stay (p > .05).ConclusionsAs a result of the current study, both feeding methods are equally effective and can be used as alternative oral feeding methods.

Young children's practices with tablet computers has been a topic in parenting discourses for several years, drawing on earlier debates over technologies and media in children's lives. In this article, I analyse data from a video observation–based media ethnography of seven Danish children (aged 4–6) and engage with the research tradition attributed to parental mediation. The analysis suggests two major paths in the struggles that stand out from the discourses and in situ practices of parents and children in the empirical data. These paths encompass struggles in relation to supporting and directing children's play activities and setting boundaries in their use of tablets and content. The nuances and implications of both paths are analysed and discussed in terms of strategies that emerge to support children's agency and rapport with parents, as well as what this means for future research.

© 2021 Published by Elsevier Ltd., Background: Acute gastroenteritis poses a significant burden on young children, families, health care facilities and societies. Rotavirus is the most common pathogen, but rotavirus infections are vaccine preventable. Information on the epidemiology of gastroenteritis in Icelandic children has until now not been available and rotavirus vaccination is currently not offered to Icelandic infants. The objective of this study was to assess the burden of rotavirus acute gastroenteritis in young children in Iceland and determine the potential benefit of adding rotavirus vaccine to the Icelandic childhood immunization schedule. Methods: For a two-year period, children < 6 years old attending a children’s emergency department for acute gastroenteritis were recruited at the Children’s Hospital in Reykjavík, Iceland. Demographic information and Vesikari scores were registered. Stool samples were analyzed for pathogens. Duration of symptoms, treatment given, and secondary household infections were among the collected information. Annual cost of the infections in young children was estimated based on health care expenditures and lost days of parental work. Results: 325 children were included in the study, 75% of which were 24 months old. A pathogen was identified in 80% of cases, of which rotavirus was identified in 54%. Rotavirus caused a more severe disease than other pathogens, more often leading to fluid treatment in the emergency department and admissions. Median duration of rotavirus-illness was six days and caused a median of four days lost from work by parents. The estimated annual cost of rotavirus acute gastroenteritis was €2.9 million. Conclusions: Rotavirus causes significant disease burden in young children. Although rarely lifethreatening in high income countries, the costs for society are substantial. The inclusion of rotavirus vaccine in the national immunization schedule will reduce the disease burden and would be cost-saving in Iceland., RANNÍS

The total uptake of prenatal aneuploidy screening for Down syndrome (DS) is increasing worldwide. As a result of increasing prenatal diagnosis of DS and subsequent termination of pregnancy, livebirth prevalence of DS is decreasing. The aim of this study is to explore the impact of an increasing uptake of prenatal aneuploidy screening on the neonatal mortality and morbidity in DS. This is a retrospective cohort study of 253 neonates with DS born between 2012 and 2018 that were seen at the outpatient clinic of five hospitals in the Netherlands. The medical files were reviewed for maternal and neonatal characteristics and neonatal morbidities. The Dutch national birth registry (Perined) provided mortality numbers of neonates with DS. The results were interpreted in the context of other published studies. Neonatal mortality in DS remained stable, ranging from 1.4 to 3.6%. A congenital heart defect (CHD) was found in 138 of the 251 neonates (55.0%) with atrial septal defect, atrioventricular septal defect, and ventricular septal defect being the most common. The type of CHD in DS did not change over time. Gastro-intestinal defects were present in 22 of the 252 neonates with DS (8.7%), with duodenal atresia as the most reported anomaly. Persistent pulmonary hypertension of the neonate (PPHN) was found in 31 of the 251 infants (12.4%). Conclusions: Although uptake of prenatal aneuploidy screening increased, neonatal mortality and morbidity in DS appears to be stable. An increased incidence of PPHN was found. What is Known:• The total uptake of prenatal aneuploidy screening for Down syndrome is increasing worldwide.• As a result of increasing prenatal diagnosis of Down syndrome and subsequent termination of pregnancy, the livebirth prevalence of Down syndrome is decreasing. What is New:• Although uptake of prenatal aneuploidy screening increased, neonatal mortality and morbidity in Down syndrome appears to be stable.• An increased incidence of persistent pulmonary hypertension of the neonate was found.

A colleague at the Technical University of Denmark has often stated: “Life is too short for electrolytes”. Another well-known scientist in the field of molecular simulation has recently said during an international Thermodynamics conference: “All my life I have tried to keep myself away from water and electrolytes” . Sadly, what these statements correctly imply is that there are far too many unclear questions and concepts in electrolyte thermodynamics, and associated difficulties in modeling electrolyte solutions. In this work, we attempt to shed some light on some important concepts and misconceptions in electrolyte thermodynamics associated with the development of electrolyte equations of state, with emphasis on those based on the Debye-Hückel theory. Detailed mathematics is needed for some of the derivations but for brevity and in order to emphasize the principles rather than the derivations, the latter are omitted. We first discuss the peculiarities of electrolyte thermodynamics and associated modeling and continue with a literature review of equations of state for electrolyte solutions. Next we will provide a modern derivation of the Debye-Hückel and Born equations and discuss their assumptions in detail to answer some of the confusion that exists in current literature on the applicability ranges and show how the different versions of the Debye-Hückel and Born models are related. A discussion and outlook section conclude this review. Several of the statements in this work challenge “accepted beliefs” in electrolyte thermodynamics and, while we believe that this challenge is justified, we hope that a useful debate can result in improved and predictive thermodynamic models for electrolyte solutions. In this contribution we present ab initio results for ionization total cross sections, probabilities at zero impact parameter, and impact parameter moments of order +1 and −1 of Ne, Ar, Kr, and Xe by proton impact in an extended energy range from 100 keV up to 10 MeV. The calculations were performed by using the continuum distorted wave eikonal initial state approximation (CDW-EIS) for energies up to 1 MeV, and using the first Born approximation for larger energies. The convergence of the CDW-EIS to the first Born above 1 MeV is clear in the present results. Our inner-shell ionization cross sections are compared with the available experimental data and with the ECPSSR results. We also include in this contribution the values of the ionization probabilities at the origin, and the impact parameter dependence. These values have been employed in multiple ionization calculations showing very good description of the experimental data. Tables of the ionization probabilities are presented, disaggregated for the different initial bound states, considering all the shells for Ne and Ar, the M-N shells of Kr and the N-O shells of Xe.

Background Spasticity is present in more than 80% of the population with cerebral palsy (CP). The aim of this study was to describe and compare the use of three spasticity reducing methods; Botulinum toxin-A therapy (BTX-A), Selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) and Intrathecal baclofen therapy (ITB) among children and adolescents with CP in six northern European countries. Methods This registry-based study included population-based data in children and adolescents with CP born 2002 to 2017 and recorded in the follow-up programs for CP in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Scotland, and a defined cohort in Finland. Results A total of 8,817 individuals were included. The proportion of individuals treated with SDR and ITB was significantly different between the countries. SDR treatment ranged from 0% ( Finland and Iceland) to 3.4% (Scotland) and ITB treatment from 2.2% (Sweden) to 3.7% (Denmark and Scotland). BTX-A treatment in the lower extremities reported 2017–2018 ranged from 8.6% in Denmark to 20% in Norway (p p p p Conclusion There were statistically significant differences between countries regarding the proportion of children and adolescents with CP treated with the three spasticity reducing methods, mean age for treatment and treatment related to GMFCS level. This is likely due to differences in the availability of these treatment methods and/or differences in preferences of treatment methods among professionals and possibly patients across countries.

- Abstract
The purpose of this master thesis has been to conduct an in-depth examination of the development of the child’s right to be heard in the Danish law throughout a period of time. Furthermore, it seeks to investigate why the Convention on the Rights of the Child have never been implemented in the Danish law in practice, but only through a ratification in 1991. In answering this master thesis, the legal dogmatic method has been used in answering the development of the rights in a historical perspective. Furthermore, the master thesis has included political and legal considerations through the thesis examination. Examples from the Danish and international case law will be included, as well as surveys that will show how much children both are and have been included in the social administration through statistics. The thesis includes a historical section treating the development of the Danish welfare system. This will help answering the extend of the focus there has been on children’s rights throughout a period of time. Then follows a section describing the legal development of the child’s right to be heard. This also includes a historical section with a focus on how the Danish rules have developed, which originates all the way back in 1933, where the first bigger social law was adopted. Finally, the investigation includes the political focus and arguments about a possible implementation into the Danish law. The results of the thesis have shown that the children’s right to be heard in Denmark have been under-prioritized due to the fact that the political focus has been in building the welfare system on those citizens who can work and contribute to the society’s economy. In recent years, beginning in the start of the new millennium, the focus has been on children’s rights and the importance of seeing them as independent individuals. The reason why the children’s convention has never been implemented is because a majority of the Danish politicians is afraid that

- Abstract

IMPORTANCE People conceived using assisted reproductive technology (ART) make up anincreasing proportion of the world’s population.OBJECTIVE To investigate the association of ART conception with offspring growth and adiposityfrom infancy to early adulthood in a large multicohort study.DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS This cohort study used a prespecified coordinated analysisacross 26 European, Asia-Pacific, and North American population-based cohort studies that includedpeople born between 1984 and 2018, with mean ages at assessment of growth and adiposityoutcomes from 0.6 months to 27.4 years. Data were analyzed between November 2019 andFebruary 2022.EXPOSURES Conception by ART (mostly in vitro fertilization, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, andembryo transfer) vs natural conception (NC; without any medically assisted reproduction).MAIN OUTCOMES AND MEASURES The main outcomes were length / height, weight, and bodymass index (BMI; calculated as weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared). Each cohortwas analyzed separately with adjustment for maternal BMI, age, smoking, education, parity, andethnicity and offspring sex and age. Results were combined in random effects meta-analysis for 13age groups.RESULTS Up to 158 066 offspring (4329 conceived by ART) were included in each age-group metaanalysis, with between 47.6% to 60.6% females in each cohort. Compared with offspring who wereNC, offspring conceived via ART were shorter, lighter, and thinner from infancy to early adolescence, with differences largest at the youngest ages and attenuating with older child age. For example, adjusted mean differences in offspring weight were −0.27 (95% CI, −0.39 to −0.16) SD units at ageyounger than 3 months, −0.16 (95% CI, −0.22 to −0.09) SD units at age 17 to 23 months, −0.07 (95%CI, −0.10 to −0.04) SD units at age 6 to 9 years, and −0.02 (95% CI, −0.15 to 0.12) SD units at age 14to 17 years. Smaller offspring size was limited to individuals conceived by fresh but not frozen embryotransfer compared with those who were NC (eg, difference in weight at age 4 to 5 years was −0.14[95% CI, −0.20 to −0.07] SD units for fresh embryo transfer vs NC and 0.00 [95% CI, −0.15 to 0.15SD units for frozen embryo transfer vs NC). More marked differences were seen for body fatmeasurements, and there was imprecise evidence that offspring conceived by ART developedgreater adiposity by early adulthood (eg, ART vs NC difference in fat mass index at age older than 17years: 0.23 [95% CI, −0.04 to 0.50] SD units).CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE These findings suggest that people conceiving or conceived byART can be reassured that differences in early growth and adiposity are small and no longer evidentby late adolescence
