Hella Saturnus Slovenija je podjetje, ki se ukvarja z razvojem in proizvodnjo svetlobne opreme za avtomobilsko industrijo, zato imajo opravka z različnimi napetostnimi pretvorniki, saj razni elektronski sklopi (npr. žarometi) za svoje delovanje potrebujejo drugačno napetost od tiste, ki jo zagotovi avtomobilski akumulator. Za svojo diplomsko nalogo sem se odločil izdelati enega izmed takšnih pretvornikov, in sicer SEPIC (single-ended primary-inductor converter) pretvornik, ki se ga bo lahko v prihodnosti uporabljalo tudi za testiranje v podjetju. SEPIC pretvornik je vrsta stikalnega enosmernega pretvornika (ang. DC/DC converter), ki transformira vhodno napetost navzgor ali navzdol, odvisno od aplikacije. Deluje po principu izmenjave energije med dušilkami in kondenzatorji v vezju. Pretvornik sem zasnoval s krmilnim vezjem LM51571-Q1 podjetja Texas Instruments. Izdelan pretvornik omogoča pretvorbo spreminjajoče vhodne napetosti v konstantno izbrano izhodno napetost. Z izračuni sem določil ustrezne komponente za delovanje pretvornika, izris električne sheme in načrt postavitve elementov na tiskanino (ang. layout) pa sta bila narejena v programu KiCad. Med testiranjem izdelanega tiskanega vezja se je izkazalo, da je bilo delovanje v skladu s pričakovanji. Izhodna napetost je bila konstanta, brez valovitosti. Elektromagnetna kompatibilnost vezja (ang. electromagnetic compatibility - EMC) je ustrezala IEC standardu CISPR 25:2021 razreda 4, kar pomeni, da vezje še ne dosega zahtevanega 5 razreda, ki ga narekuje standard za avtomobilsko industrijo. Hella Saturnus Slovenia is a company that develops and manufactures lighting equipment for the automotive industry, and therefore deals with different voltage converters, as various electronic assemblies (e.g. headlights) require a different voltage to that provided by the car battery. For my diploma, I decided to build one of these converters, a SEPIC (single-ended primary-inductor converter) converter, which can also be used for in-house testing in the future. SEPIC is a type of switching DC/DC converter that transforms the input voltage to a higher or lower level, depending on the application. It works on the principle of energy exchange between the inductors and capacitors in the circuit. I have designed the converter with the LM51571-Q1 controller from Texas Instruments. The converter I have designed allows the conversion of a varying input voltage to a constant selected output voltage. I used calculations to determine the appropriate components for the operation of the converter. The schematic and the layout of the circuit were drawn in KiCad. During testing of the PCB, the performance was as expected. The output voltage was constant, without fluctuations. The electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of the circuit was in accordance with the IEC standard CISPR 25:2021 class 4, which means that the circuit does not yet meet the required class 5 of the automotive standard. Despite the performance of the circuit, improvements could be made, particularly in the area of EMC. The circuit complies with the IEC CISPR 25:2021 class 4 standard, but for use in vehicles it is necessary to achieve a class 5, which has certain stricter maximum EMI values. Electromagnetic interference could possibly be limited by the use of a shield can or a ferrite bead.

Podjetja s pomočjo analize konkurenčnih izdelkov pridobivajo pomembne informacije o uporabljenih pristopih, rešitvah, stroškovnih ter delovnih optimizacijah pri proizvodnji, ki so se izkazale kot učinkovite pri konkurenčnih podjetjih. Problem v izbranem podjetju je predstavljala nejasna, razpršena in težko dostopna baza podatkov z rezultati analiz. Rešitev predstavlja platforma podjetja, namenjena hranjenju in deljenju podatkov, kjer se na enem mestu zbirajo podatki pridobljeni z analizo izdelkov in ostale pomembne informacije. Podatke je potrebno analizirati, filtrirati in jih implementirati v platformo. Tako imajo delavci v razvojnih oddelkih podjetja na različnih koncih sveta takojšen in pregleden dostop do koristnih informacij o posameznih izdelkih, kar jim služi za bolj učinkovit in hitrejši razvoj novih izdelkov. Namen diplomske naloge je prikazati pomembnost analize konkurenčnih izdelkov za podjetje na nenehno spreminjajočem se globalnem trgu in prikazati, kako poteka implementacija in upravljanje podatkov v spletni platformi v povezavi z analizo konkurenčnih izdelkov. Companies use the analysis of competing products to obtain important information about the different approaches, solutions and cost or efficiency optimizations that are later used in production. These solutions have already been proven to be effective with competitors and companies always strive to make their products better and the production costs lower. The problem in the selected company was a vague and scattered database cointaining the results of analyzes, which was not easily accessible to everyone in the development departments. The solution is the company's internal database platform, where data obtained from product analysis and other important information for developers are collected in one place. Data needs to be analyzed, filtered and then implemented in the platform. In this way, the company's development workers around the world will have immediate and non-stop transparent access to useful information about individual products, which will help them to develop new products more efficiently and faster. The purpose of the thesis is to show the importance of the analysis of competing products fort he company in a constantly changing market and to show how the implementation and management of data in the online platform is connected with the analysis of competing products.

V tem diplomskem delu je predstavljena izdelava in delovanje testne naprave za avtomobilsko okrasno luč. Naprava ima 5 funkcij: zatemnjevanje s pulzno-širinsko modulacijo, preverjanje komunikacije z gonilnikom svetlečih diod, testiranje animacije, testiranje zaščite pred pregrevanjem in programiranje nastavitev in naslova gonilniku svetlečih diod. Vse elektronske komponente so morale ustrezati standardom avtomobilske industrije AEC-Q100 in AEC-200. Glavni del naprave je mikrokrmilnik STM Discovery STM32F429I z vgrajenim zaslonom na dotik, preko katerega uporabnik upravlja s funkcijami. Ta komunicira z lučjo preko pretvornika UART - CAN TJA1051. Naprava ima 4-polni vtič in sicer za CAN high, CAN low, termistor in maso. Zapakirana je v robustno ohišje, ki je primerno za uporabo v industrijskem okolju. Program za napravo je bil narejen v programskem okolju CubeIDE. Pri programiranju je bil uporabljen princip realno-časnega operacijskega sistema (angl. Real-time operating system oz. RTOS) za boljšo urejenost in preglednost. Program deluje na principu avtomata stanj, kjer en zaslon grafike predstavlja eno stanje in hkrati eno opravilo realno-časnega operacijskega sistema. Rezultat dela je naprava, ki je zmožna vseh opisanih funkcij. Uporabniku omogoča intuitivno in preprosto uporabo. Merjenje temperature v okviru zaščite pred pregrevanjem ima zadostno natančnost. Uporablja se za testiranje prototipov avtomobilskih luči. This thesis addresses the process of making a testing device of an automotive decorative lamp. The device has 5 functions: dimming with pulse-width modulation, monitoring of a LED driver communication, animation testing, thermal derating test and flashing of settings and device address. All components of the device must comply with automotive standards. Main component of the device is microcontroller STM Discovery STM32F429I with integrated touchscreen, through which user controls the devices functions. The controller communicates with lamp through UART - CAN converter TJA1051. The device has 4-pin connector, a pin for CAN high, pin for CAN low, pin for thermistor and the last pin for ground. Test machine is packed in a robust, industrial grade case. Software was created in CubeIDE program, which is a product of the same manufacturer as the microcontroller and thus already includes plenty of resources for it. Program includes a concept of real time operating system (RTOS) for better structure and clarity of code. Software is written as a state machine, where one screen represents one state and at the same time one task of real time operating system. The result of this thesis is a device, which is capable of all the above-described functions. It is easy to use. Temperature measurement included in thermal derating test is precise enough. The machine is primarily used to test prototypes of car lamps.

Namen diplomskega dela je oceniti uspešnost poslovanja in finančni položaj velikega podjetja, ki deluje v avtomobilski industriji, za obdobje od 2011 do 2020. Izhodišče dela predstavljajo tri raziskovalna vprašanja. Kako uspešno je poslovalo povezano tuje notranje podjetje, ki spada med velika podjetja in je hkrati edini proizvajalec avtomobilov v Sloveniji? Kateri dejavniki so vplivali na njegovo uspešnost poslovanja in finančni položaj? Ali je bilo pri poslovanju uspešnejše v primerjavi s povprečjem kovinske dejavnosti za velika podjetja? Odgovore smo našli v celoviti analizi poslovanja podjetja Revoz za obdobje od leta 2011 do 2020. Z uporabo metod analize izkazov poslovnih izidov in bilanc stanj, vodoravne analize, navpične analize in analize s kazalniki ter primerjave s povprečjem kovinske dejavnosti za velika podjetja smo prišli do ugotovitev glede uspešnosti in finančnega položaja Revoza. Nihanja prihodkov in odhodkov so bila opredeljena z gibanjem obsega proizvodnje vozil. Čisti poslovni izid je bil preko transfernih cen opredeljen z davčno politiko matičnega podjetja. Gibanje sredstev in njihova struktura sta bila opredeljena z investicijami, povezanimi z uvajanjem novih modelov vozil v proizvodnjo. Izrazito povečanje dolžniškega financiranja je posledica finančne politike matičnega podjetja. Analiza je pokazala, da uspešnost poslovanja in finančni položaj Revoza opredeljuje skupina Renault group. Močna odvisnost Revoza od skupine Renault Group se je pokazala kot omejitev pri izvedbi analize. Zato je nujno, da se pri prihodnjih raziskovanjih s področja analize poslovanja povezanih podjetij upošteva stopnja povezanosti med odvisnim in obvladujočim podjetjem in uspešnost poslovanja obvladujočega podjetja, narediti pa je treba tudi primerjavo s podjetji iz iste panoge, upoštevajoč specifične kazalnike učinkovitosti. The purpose of this thesis is to assess the performance and financial position of a large company operating in the automotive industry for the period from 2011 to 2020. The thesis is based on three research questions. How successful was the affiliated foreign domestic company, which is one of the largest companies and the only car manufacturer in Slovenia? What factors influenced business performance and financial position? Was it more successful in business compared to the metal industry average for large companies? We found the answers in a comprehensive analysis of Revoz for the period from 2011 to 2020. Using methods of analysis of income statements and balance sheets, horizontal analysis, vertical analysis and analysis with indicators, and comparisons with the average metal activity for large companies, we came to findings on the business performance and financial position of Revoz. The movements in revenue and expenditure were defined by changes in the volume of vehicle production. The net profit was determined through transfer prices by the tax policy of the parent company. The movement of assets and their structure was defined by investments related to the introduction of new vehicle models into production. The significant increase in debt financing is the result of the parent company's financial policy. In the analysis, it was found that the business performance and the financial position of Revoz was determined by the Renault Group. The strong dependence between Revoz and the Renault Group proved to be a constraint in carrying out the analysis. Therefore, it is necessary that future research in the field of business analysis of a subsidiary takes into account the degree of connection between the subsidiary and the parent company, the performance of the parent company, and makes comparisons with companies in the same industry, taking into account specific performance indicators.

V zadnjem času se v industrijskih aplikacijah čedalje več uporabljajo sistemi strojnega vida. S to tematiko se ukvarja tudi diplomska naloga, v kateri je predstavljena ena od postaj večjega sistema, ki sestavlja osvetlitev ozadja zaslonov za avtomobilsko industrijo. Na tej postaji se odloži še zadnja folija in zarezni trak. V nalogi je podrobneje opisan program Cognex Designer, ki je uporabljen kot osnova za delovanje sistema, ter vsi ostali potrebni elementi, ki omogočajo ustrezno delovanje sistema za strojni vid. Diplomsko delo je razdeljeno na tri glavna poglavja. V prvem poglavju je opisan sistem, ki ga obravnava diplomsko delo. V drugem poglavju je predstavljena potrebna strojna oprema, kjer so opisani vsi potrebni elementi za izdelavo sistema za strojni vid in izračuni za pravilno izbiro objektiva. V tretjem poglavju je podrobneje predstavljeno programsko orodje Cognex Designer ter opisan postopek izdelave uporabniškega vmesnika in vseh ostalih potrebnih orodij. V poglavju je opisano tudi delovanje programa za pregled in sporočanje pozicij folije in zareznega traku. In the past few years, a significant increase in industrial machine vision applications has appeared. Machine vision is also the main topic of this thesis, describing one of the terminals in the assembly process, which manufactures backlighting for the automotive industry. The described terminal places the last foil and the notch tape on the semi-finished product. The thesis describes the Cognex Designer program, which is used as a basis for the operation of the system, and all other necessary elements that enable its proper operation. The thesis is divided in to three chapters. The first chapter describes the basic process of backlighting assembly. The second chapter presents the necessary hardware and describes all necessary elements, which comprise the machine vision system, and the calculations, which determine proper camera lenses. The third chapter presents the Cognex Designer software in more detail and describes the development process of the user interfaces and all other necessary tools. Furthermore, operation of the program for product inspection and determination of the foil and notch tape position is also described.

Delo obravnava teoretičen pregled obstoječega poznavanja kompleksnosti in nepredvidljivosti, ki se lahko pojavijo pri projektu, ter metodologij, ki omogoča obvladovanje teh dejavnikov. Uporaba metodologije je predstavljena s pomočjo primera izvedbe izbranega projekta v podjetju, ki je dobavitelj za avtomobilsko industrijo. Ugotovili smo, da lahko teoretična spoznanja uporabimo za izboljšanje projektnega managementa pri projektih, pri katerih se srečujemo z rednimi naročnikovimi spremembami izdelka projekta in spremembami, ki so posledica agilnega prilagajanja projektnega procesa zunanjim spremembam. The diploma thesis takes in a general overview of complexity and uncertainty that can arise in a modern project and methodology that is designed and capable to overcome these factors. Further is presented work during a general project that is executed in a company which is a supplier in the automotive industry. In diploma it is studied, where and how we could use these theoretical cognitions for improvement of methodical PMLC cycle that mentioned company uses for development of projects.

Due to its many benefits, the automotive industry is increasingly focused on the use of returnable packaging, but the benefits of using it can only be fully realized if the system is properly managed. This study therefore aims to build a model that enables a comparison between different sustainable packaging systems: non-returnable packaging, returnable packaging, and returnable foldable packaging. The applicability of the model was verified in a multinational manufacturing company that is a development supplier in the international automotive industry. The results highlight the main advantages of the model: enabling the comparison between the use of different sustainable packaging systems, when simulating different scenarios, it takes into account several different cost components and ensures a systematic selection of the packaging system in the early phase of product development. The high degree of practicality and usability of the model was also validated by the sensitivity analysis, as the longer the transport distance, the more acceptable the use of non-returnable packaging. In addition, higher demand for the product was correlated with a reduction in the total cost of all three aspects of packaging choice. The model upgrades existing studies and represents a practical decision-making tool for manufacturing companies and the logistics industry. It will contribute to the systematic construction of a packaging management system at an early stage of product development, which will reduce costs in the long run, improve the quality of logistics processes, and ensure an effective sustainable packaging management system.

Navidezna resničnost (ang. virtual reality VR) je zadnjih nekaj let trend na področju industrije iger (ang. gaming industry), njen potencial pa so prepoznali tudi v avtomobilski industriji. Evropa, s Francijo, Nemčijo in Veliko Britanijo na čelu, predstavlja drugi največji trg za VR tehnologije, Slovenija pa zanje še ni izrazila posebnega navdušenja. Morebitni novi uporabniki s področja avtomobilske industrije so do novih tehnologij zadržani, saj jim primanjkuje informacij in prepričljivih demonstracij. Iz tega razloga je magistrska naloga sestavljena iz dveh delov prvi del vsebuje celostni pregled VR tehnologij s poudarkom na področju avtomobilske industrije, naloga drugega dela pa je povzeti praktičen razvoj treh VR aplikacij. Celostni pregled stanja VR tehnologij se začne z vpogledom v zgodovino razvoja VR opreme ter njeno zgradbo in delovanje. Sledi poglavje o programski opremi, ki je razdeljena v štiri skupine glede na njeno vlogo pri razvoju VR aplikacij. Poglavje o časovni zakasnitvi se dotakne problema VR slabosti, poglavje o standardih pa pojasni njihov pomen za razvoj VR tehnologij. Sledi pregled stanja VR tehnologij po svetu, za oceno stanja v Slovniji pa je bila med člani partnerstva SRIP ACS+ izvedena anketa. V zadnjem poglavju teoretičnega dela magistrske naloge so opisana področja uporabe VR tehnologij vezana na avtomobilsko industrijo in primeri dobrih praks. Glede na rezultate ankete med slovenskimi podjetji lahko podjetja razdelimo v tri skupine. V prvi skupini so podjetja, ki že uporabljajo VR tehnologije in se jih bodo posluževala tudi v prihodnosti. Drugo skupino sestavljajo podjetja, ki so pripravljena začeti vlagati v VR tehnologije, vendar za delo z njimi nimajo usposobljenega kadra. V tretji skupini so podjetja, katerih vizija ne vključuje VR tehnologij. Razloga za to sta predvsem neinformiranost in nezaupanje v VR tehnologije. V sklopu magistrske naloge so v igralnem pogonu Unity z uporabo VR očal Valve Index in pripadajočim parom Valve Index ročk razvite tri aplikacije, ki pokrivajo različne elemente v proizvodnem in poslovnem procesu: - VR platforma za postavitev delovnega mesta in oceno njegove ergonomije, - semi-interaktivna VR aplikacija vstavljanja krogličnih ležajev v U profil z uporabo ročne stiskalnice in v sodelovanju z robotom ter CNC napravo služi kot primer aplikacije za usposabljanje delavcev, - aplikacija treninga požarne varnosti. Rezultati magistrske naloge kažejo na potencial VR tehnologij v proizvodni industriji. Množično uporabo VR tehnologij na profesionalni ravni zavira nezrela strojna oprema, saj VR očala še niso primerna za večurno nošnjo. Glede na hitrost napredovanja strojne opreme v zadnjih letih, se zdijo te pomanjkljivosti začasne in se je zato do izida bolj primernih VR očal smiselno posvetiti razvijanju kvalitetnih VR vsebin. Virtual reality (VR) has been a trend in the gaming industry for the last few years, however, its potential has been noted in the automotive industry as well. Europe, with France, Germany, and the UK in the lead, represents the second largest market for VR, while Slovenia is yet to show particular enthusiasm for the field. Potential new users in the automotive industry are reluctant to use new technology because they lack information and convincing demonstrations. For this reason, the thesis consists of two parts in the first section an overview of VR technology is made, with an emphasis on the automotive industry, whereas the purpose of the second section is to summarise the practical development of three VR applications. A comprehensive overview of the state of VR technologies begins with historical overview of the development of VR equipment and its structure and operation. The software section presents in detail the four subgroups of software, which can be included in the process of VR application development. The section on latency touches upon the problem of VR sickness, following by a chapter on standards explaining their significance for VR technologies. What follows is an overview of the state of VR globally, while a survey was conducted among the members of the SRIP ACS+ partnership for an estimate of the state in Slovenia. In the closing chapter, the different fields of application and examples of good practices in the automotive industry are described. In view of the results of the survey among the Slovenian businesses, companies can be divided into three groups. Firstly, companies, which already use VR technology and will continue using it. The second group consists of companies that do not yet use VR but are ready to start investing in it, had they had the qualified personnel. Remaining are the companies, whose vision does not include VR technology. The reasons for this are mainly related to being uninformed and distrusting of VR technology. As part of the master's thesis, three applications were developed using Unity game engine and the Valve Index HMD (head-mounted display) with corresponding Valve Index Knuckles Controllers. VR applications cover various elements in the production process: - VR platform for workstation deployment and ergonomics evaluation, - semi-interactive VR application around inserting bearings into the U profile using a hand press in collaboration with a robot and a CNC machine, which is an example of VR application for training, - VR application for fire safety training. The results of the thesis show the potential of VR in the manufacturing industry. The widespread use of VR technologies in professional settings is held back by immature hardware, meaning VR headsets are unsuitable to be worn for long periods of time. Given the rapid development of VR hardware in recent years, these drawbacks seem momentary, and it is therefore reasonable to develop quality VR content until the release of a more appropriate VR headset.

Na začetku je na kratko opisana zgodovina kovinskih pen, nato pa različne proizvodne tehnike, ki vodijo do produktov z različnimi lastnostmi (mehanskimi, termalnimi in drugimi). Na podlagi teh so raziskane potencialne možnosti uporabe kovinskih pen, ki so trenutno v veliki meri še neizkoriščene zaradi več razlogov, ki jih prav tako razdelamo. In the following work, metal foams are presented. In the beginning, we shortly describe the history of metal foams, which is followed by preparation techniques that lead to products with various properties (mechanical, thermal and others). On the basis of these properties we elaborate on potential application of metal foams, which are as of yet largely unused due to multiple reasons, which are also discussed.

IZVLEČEK Namen diplomskega dela je oblikovati dve vrsti avtomobilskih platišč, ki bi se izdelovali s postopkom vlivanja in kovanja aluminija. Izhodišče praktičnega dela je stanje industrije avtomobilizma, ki se širi in razvija, tehnologija napreduje in ustvarja vse bolj učinkovite postopke za izdelavo. Teoretični del naloge zajema pregled splošnih informacij o avtomobilskih platiščih, postopke izdelave, uporabo, osnovne materiale za platišča, opis prednosti in slabosti aluminijastih platišč v primerjavi z drugimi materiali, nato pa sta podana opis in slikovna predstavitev detajlov, ki sestavljajo platišče, pa tudi podroben opis postopkov izdelave platišča. Celoten postopek oblikovanja platišč se je izvajal v programu za industrijsko 3D-oblikovanje Autodesk Inventor, za katerega sta na kratko predstavljeni namembnost in uporabnost. V praktičnem delu diplomskega dela je opisan celoten postopek izdelave modela avtomobilskega platišča. Delo temelji na predhodno lastnoročno narisanih skicah avtomobilskih platišč. Glede na dimenzije in narisane skice izdelkov smo kasneje postopek za postopkom ustvarili avtomobilsko platišče, kot končni izdelek. Nato je sledilo animiranje. Končni rezultat diplomskega dela je animacija avtomobilskih platišč. The purpose of the diploma is to design two types of alloy wheels, which are made by the casting and forging process. As the automotive industry expands and evolves, technology is moving forward and creating ever easier processes to carry out production. The theoretical part includes an overview of general information about alloy wheels, production processes, use, basic materials for alloy wheels, a description of the advantages and disadvantages of aluminum alloy wheels compared to other materials, following by a description and pictorial presentation of the details that make up the wheel and a detailed description of wheel manufacturing processes. The entire wheel design process was performed in the program for industrial 3D design Autodesk Inventor, along with a brief presentation of the purpose and use of the program. In the practical part there is a description of the entire process of making a alloy wheel model. The work is based on a previously hand-drawn sketches of an automobile alloy wheel. Based on the dimensions and the drawn sketches of the products, step by step an alloy wheel was created as a final product. The final result of diploma work is an animation.

The automotive industry is facing new crises due to market shifting towards electric vehicles. In order to prevail in the market, global manufacturing companies need to be consistent in providing innovative products and services. If market is changing fast, companies need to make changes with the same velocity. The companies should focus on modifying their work processes and tools which are already outdated and implement new ones which will make their business more efficient. If a company is developing innovative products where work processes are causing big overheads, the company cannot be successful. Furthermore, a hindering circumstance for multinational companies is lack of team interaction and language barriers what can lead to inefficient and expensive projects. This case study analyzes and presents the current organization of work activities and the roles within two main project management processes in one company: Product Development Process and Product Pre-development Process. Based on the project management’s professional literature, examples of best practices, semi-structured interviews with project team members, this thesis will analyze current waterfall organization and suggest an organization model with the utilization of agile SCRUM framework which could increase the effectiveness of the project management organization. Zaradi sprememb na trgu se avtomobilska industrija sooča z novo krizo, ki je odraz vpeljave električnih avtomobilov. Če želijo svetovna proizvodna podjetja preživeti na trgu, morajo stalno ponujati inovativne izdelke in storitve. Če se trg hitro spreminja, se morajo tudi podjetja temu hitro prilagajati. Podjetja si morajo prizadevati za nadgrajevanje zastarelih delovnih procesov in orodij, in uvajanje novih, ki bodo prinesle večjo učinkovitost. Če podjetje razvija inovativne izdelke, ob visokih režijskih stroških, potem na trgu ne more biti uspešno. V primeru globalnega podjetja, pride lahko tudi do težav v povezovanju znotraj timov, kar privede do neučenkivosti in posledično dragih projektov. Ta študijski primer analizira in predstavlja trenutno organizacijo delovnih aktivnosti in vloge v dveh glavnih procesih upravljanja projektov v enem podjetju: Proces razvoja izdelka in Pred-razvojni proces izdelka. Na podlagi strokovne literature o vodenju projektov, primerov najboljših praks in polstrukturiranih intervjujev s člani projektne skupine, magistrsko delo analizira trenutno “waterfall” organizacijo in predlaga model organizacije z uporabo agilnega projektnega okvira SCRUM, ki bi povečal učinkovitost organizacije za upravljanje projektov.

Za nastanek avtomobila potrebujemo proizvodnjo, ki mora biti zaradi izjemno velike konkurence na trgu avtomobilov tehnično in tehnološko dovršena. V diplomskem delu smo najprej preučili značilnosti proizvodnje in skušali odgovoriti predvsem na vprašanja, katere vrste proizvodnje poznamo, kako se proizvodnja deli, kateri procesi potekajo v njej in kakšen je njen vpliv na okolje. Nato smo se posvetili obravnavi poslovnih procesov in managementu v proizvodnji. Nadaljevali smo s predstavitvijo proizvodnje v avtomobilski industriji in njenih značilnosti. V tem okviru smo obravnavali tudi Industrijo 4.0, ki predstavlja četrto industrijsko revolucijo in je pomembna za razvoj avtomobilske industrije, predvsem z uvedbo avtomatizacije in robotizacije proizvodnje. Obravnavo možnosti izboljšanja proizvodnje z uporabo načel Industrije 4.0 smo zaključili z obravnavo primera avtomobilske proizvodnje. To create a car we need a production, which must be technically and technologically completed due to the extremely high competition in the automotive market. In the diploma thesis, we first studied the characteristics of the production, especially the question of what kind of production we know, how the production is divided, what processes are being carried out in the production, and what the impact of production is on the environment. Then we devoted ourselves to dealing with business processes and production management. We proceeded with the production in the automotive industry and its characteristics. In this context, we also discussed Industry 4.0, which represents the fourth industrial revolution and it is important for the development of the automotive industry, mostly by introducing automation and robotization of production. We discussed the possibility of improving production by applying the principles to industry 4.0 by addressing the case of automotive production.

Z vedno večjo potrebo po zagotavljanju kakovosti in zanesljivosti ter gospodarske učinkovitosti v avtomobilski industriji raste tudi potreba po avtomatizirani in robotizirani proizvodnji. Podjetje Revoz d.d. ima samo v departmaju za sestavo in varjenje karoserij več kot 500 robotov. Pravilno ravnanje z roboti in ostalo opremo, ki jo srečujemo v proizvodnih obratih, je izjemnega pomena tako z vidika varnosti zaposlenih, kot tudi z vidika učinkovitosti proizvodnega procesa. Cilj diplome je opisati potek načrtovanja in izvedbe nove robotske celice v podjetju, ki bo uporabljena za izobraževanja zaposlenih na področju robotike, točkovnega varjenja, varnega upravljanja s samimi robotskimi manipulatorji in testiranju nove in že obstoječe opreme. V uvodnem delu bom predstavil avtomobilsko industrijo in uporabo robotov v njej, zasnovo nove učne robotske celice in razvoj njenega električnega načrta. V naslednjih poglavjih bom opisal uporabljeno strojno, električno in programsko opremo s posebnim poudarkom na varnosti. V zaključnem delu bom predstavil uporabo učne robotske celice in opisal delovanje testne aplikacije, s katero simuliramo varjenje karoserije v proizvodnji. With the increasing need to ensure quality, reliability and economic efficiency in the automotive industry, the need for automated and robotized manufacturing is also growing. Revoz d.d. has more than 500 robots in the body assembling and welding shop alone. Proper handling of robots and other equipment used in manufacturing facilities is of great importance in terms of both employee safety and efficiency of manufacturing process. The aim of the thesis is to describe the course of planning and implementation of a new robotic cell in the company, which will be used for training employees in the field of robotics, point welding and safety management of the robotic manipulators. In the introduction I will describe the automotive industry and the use of robots, the design of a new robotic training cell and the development of its electrical plan. In the following chapters I will describe the hardware, software, and electrical equipment used, with a special emphasis on safety. In the final part I will present the use of the robotic training cell and describe how the test application, which simulates the welding of the car body in manufacturing, works.

Diplomsko delo je osredotočeno na oblikovanje CMF (Colour, Material and Finish) elementov notranje opreme v avtomobilski industriji. Na izbranem primeru notranjosti avtomobila bo s študijo in zasnovo preoblikovanja elementov CMF prikazan njihov odnos do drugih komponent v interierju ter njihov prispevek k funkcionalnosti, uporabniški izkušnji, estetiki in blagovni znamki kot celoti. V prvem delu diplomske naloge je predstavljena raziskovalna faza, ki se osredotoča na pomen CMF elementov v oblikovanju ter njihov medsebojni odnos, funkcionalnost in podpiranje identitete blagovne znamke ter uporabniške izkušnje. Sledi raziskovanje materialov in barvnih palet, ki vodijo v načrtovalsko fazo preoblikovanja interierja avtomobila. BA Thesis focuses on CMF design (Colour, Material and Finish) of the interior equipment elements in automotive industry. The chosen example of car interior will show, through study and scheme of redesign of CMF elements, their relation to other components in the interior, as well as their contribution to functionality, user experience, aesthetics, and brand name altogether. The first part of the Thesis presents the research phase, focusing on the importance of CMF elements in design, and their mutual relation, functionality, and brand name identity support together with user experience. The succeeding part of the Thesis is the research of materials, surface processing, and colour palette, leading to the planning phase of car interior redesign.

The study presents the results of remote robotic laser welding of advanced high strength Docol®, 1200 M martensitic steel. One mm thick samples were welded in a lap joint configuration using a special clamping system. Welding was done using a continuous-wave (CW) fibre laser with a constant welding power of 300 W and constant focus diameter Ø, 1.8 mm. Welding was done using 12 different welding speeds in the range from 0.15 to 1 m/min, whereas the inclination angle was kept constant at 0°, The influence of various welding speeds and linear heat inputs during welding on microstructural changes were examined by the occurrence of acicular and allotriomorphic ferrite or martensite. Results revealed big influence of the clamping system on the accumulation of the laser beam energy, heat sink and consequently weld size and geometry, as well as its microstructure and joint strength. Tensile-shear strength, microstructure and hardness results confirmed laser power of 300 W and 0.6 m/min welding speed as the optimal parameters, at which a martensitic structure was obtained in the weld. The width of the heat affected zone (HAZ) in this case is 1100 m.

33. Uporaba verige blokov v avtomobilski industriji

Algoritmi oziroma mehanizmi soglasja so ključni košček v sestavljanki verige blokov. Razvoj različnih mehanizmov soglasja je v porastu in prav ta košček bo kritično vplival na splošno adaptacijo in uporabo verig blokov v vsakdanjem življenju. V delu smo preverili, kako delujejo posamezni predlagani mehanizmi soglasij. Primerjali smo dokaz dela in dokaz deleža kot prva implementirana algoritma z dokazom pretečenega časa in dokazom požiga. Primerjali smo tudi ideje algoritmov soglasja, ki trenutno še nimajo praktične implementacije, kot dokaz sreče in dokaz oblasti. Raziskali smo, katere lastnosti mora mehanizem soglasja izpolnjevati, da pomeni izboljšavo tehnologije verige blokov. Ugotovljene lastnosti so nam postale merilo za primerjavo algoritmov soglasja. V delu smo pokazali, da lahko problem, ki ga je smiselno reševati s tehnologijo verige blokov, rešimo, in to celo bolje kot s pomočjo algoritma dokaza dela. Za izdelavo smo uporabili ogrodje Sawtooth z dokazom pretečenega časa, kot mehanizmom soglasja. Implementirali smo beležko vzdrževanj in popravil vozila, dobljeno rešitev pa smo primerjali z obstoječimi rešitvami servisne knjižice ter dokazali uporabnost in boljše delovanje verige blokov z alternativnim algoritmom soglasja. Consensus algorithms or mechanisms are a key piece in the blockchain puzzle. The development of different consensus mechanisms is on the rise, and this particular part of blockchain will critically influence the general adaptation and use of blockchains in everyday life. In this thesis, we examined how each proposed consensus mechanism works. We compared the proof of work and proof of stake as the first implemented algorithms with the proof of elapsed time and proof of burn. We also compared the ideas of consensus algorithms that do not currently have a practical implementation, such as proof of luck and proof of authority. We investigated what properties a consensus mechanism needs to fulfil to improve the technology of the blockchain. The established properties became the criteria for comparing consensus algorithms. We have shown that a problem that can be solved with blockchain technology can be implemented even better than with the use of a proof of work. For the implementation, we used the Sawtooth framework with a proof of elapsed time as a consensus mechanism. We implemented a maintenance and repair notebook of the vehicle, compared the solution obtained with the existing solutions of the service booklet, and proved the usability and superior performance of blockchain with alternative consensus an algorithm.

Naloga obravnava proces kvalifikacije in razvoja novega dobavitelja v avtomobilski industriji ter proces obvladovanja reklamacij v zgodnjih fazah sodelovanja z novimi dobavitelji. Proces kvalifikacije in obvladovanja reklamacij je v nalogi prikazan na praktičnem primeru z vidika podjetja, ki se uvršča med prvovrstne dobavitelje avtomobilske opreme (angl. Tier one supplier). Poleg tega so v nalogi predstavljena tudi nekatera ključna orodja kakovosti, ki se uporabljajo v službah razvoja kakovosti dobaviteljev. Kot rezultat naloge je predstavljen poenostavljen blokovni diagram aktivnosti s pripadajočimi funkcijami in potrebnimi dokumenti za posamezno aktivnost. The paper deals with the process of qualification and the development of a new supplier in the automotive industry and the process of complaint management in the early stages of cooperation with new suppliers. Complaint management and qualification process are presented in the paper on a practical example from a company perspective that is based as a tier one supplier in the industry. In addition, some key quality methods that are used in the process of supplier development are also presented. As a result of a paper, a simplified block diagram of activites with associated functions and necessary documents for an individual activity is presented.

The master’s thesis discusses different approaches how to assure the quality and reliability of high voltage contactors in automotive industry. In the beginning, the history of the development is described, followed by basic knowledge about materials and magnetic theory used in relays. The main part of the thesis is tests defying to qualify the relays for usage in automotive industry. There are different tests, divided in different groups. Second important part is reliability prediction according to standards used in this area of business. Reliability prediction and calculation of failure rate on different contactors are described in last chapters. Calculation also included influence of different factors on life span of the parts. In conclusion, the results are commented and proposal for development is given based on results of the research. Osrednja tema naloge je testiranje in zagotavljanje zanesljivosti za visokonapetostne releje v avtomobilski industriji. Na začetku smo se dotaknili zgodovine razvoja relejev. Raziskali smo trg in predstavili trenutno stanje. Releje smo razdelili na različne tipe glede na njihovo konstrukcijo, namen uporabe in metodo elektromagnetnega polja. Glavna tema naloge pa je bila definicija testne specifikacije, s pomočjo katere lahko testiramo releje v avtomobilski industriji in pa predvidevanje zanesljivosti in pogostost odpovedi, torej dva različna pristopa. Na eni strani teoretičen pristop, ki se ga lahko poslužujemo v zgodnjih razvojnih fazah, na drugi pa praktično testiranje v kasnejših razvojnih fazah. Tako lahko, kar se relejev tiče, govorimo o celovitem pristopu k razvoju baterijskih sistemov. Naloga je lahko uporabljena kot pripomoček za razvoj oziroma testiranje relejev za uporabo v avtomobilski industriji. V prvem poglavju smo preučevali zgodovino, tehnologijo in materiale ter njihove lastnosti. Prve zametke v tehnologiji elektromagnetov je utemeljil nemški znanstvenik Johann Schweigger. Naslednji v vrsti znanstvenikov, ki se je ukvarjal s to temo, pa je bil ameriški profesor Joseph Henry, ki predstavlja najbolj pomembno osebo v zgodovini razvoja relejev. Seveda so se do zdaj releji močno razvili in se razširili na vsa mogoča področja uporabe. Najdemo jih povsod, v krmilni elektroniki, doma v omarici z varovalkami, v gospodinjskih aparatih in pa seveda tudi v avtomobilih. Prav uporaba relejev v avtomobilski industriji pa je osrednja tema te naloge. Releje proizvaja več proizvajalcev po svetu, še vedno pa je zaradi cenejše delovne sile večina teh v Aziji. Releje lahko razdelimo v več skupin glede na obratovalno napetost. Od nizkonapetostnih relejev, ki se uporabljajo za galvansko ločitev na krmilnih vezjih, do srednje-napetostnih relejev, ki se uporabljajo predvsem za drugo baterijo v avtu, katera služi za sedaj zelo popularno funkcijo Start/Stop. Na koncu pa so tukaj visokonapetostni releji, ki se uporabljajo pri napetosti med 400 in 800 V. Takšne releje uporabljamo predvsem v večjih baterijah, ki so vgrajene v hibridnih in pa električnih avtomobilih. Obstaja več mnenj in lestvic, katero napetost lahko poimenujemo visoka napetost. V avtomobilski industriji, oziroma v baterijskih sistemih, se visoka napetost začne pri 100 V. Ker v primeru baterijskih sistemov govorimo o enosmerni napetosti, smo se osredotočili na enosmerne visokonapetostne releje. Visokonapetostne releje lahko v grobem razdelimo v dve skupini, odprti tip in pa zaprti oz. vakuumski tip. V avtomobilski industriji se v večini primerov uporabljajo vakuumski releji, saj imajo določene prednosti, ki so v tej branži nujne. Kot že omenjeno, je izbira pravega materiala pri kontaktih zelo pomembna. Prav od življenjske dobe kontaktov pa je v večji meri odvisna življenjska doba komponente same. V avtomobilski industriji se življenjska doba releja giblje med 100 000. in 1 000 000. cikli. Seveda pa je ta številka močno odvisna od toka in napetosti, pri kateri se rele uporablja. Pri vsakem vklopu in odklopu pride do poškodbe kontaktne površine, ki se s tem obrablja. Do posebej kritične obrabe pride pri odklopu visokega toka pri visoki napetosti. To povzroči oblok. To pomeni, da teče tok skozi rele še kratek čas po tem, ko so kontakti že odprti. Ta efekt po navadi povzroči največjo škodo na kontaktni površini, zato je pomembno, da je odklapljanje relejev kontrolirano in se zgodi pri čim nižjem toku. S tem razlogom se v avtomobilski industriji po navadi uporablja števec ciklov pri določenem toku ter se tako načrtno omeji življenjska doba releja. Tako se preprečuje oz. zmanjšuje možnost nepredvidenih odpovedi. Obstajajo tudi druge metode, kako oblažiti efekt obloka. Uporabijo se lahko posebna vezja, ki pripomorejo k temu, da je efekt minimalen. Pomembno je, da se kontakti ločijo čim prej. Zato je pomembno, kako je načrtovan krmilnik, s katerim krmilimo rele. Sodobni svet je svet sprememb, kjer se obdržijo in uspejo le najboljša podjetja, ki imajo jasno začrtane strategije in cilje. International business needs to be treated as highly important, as the world in which we live in, demands both from customers as well as companies constant adaptation, since it is practically impossible to avoid globalization. Consequently, consumers are becoming increasingly demanding, and seek choice, promptness, and last but not least, quality. On one hand, companies need to fight for their existence and a good competitive position on the market with rival companies, and on the other hand, with customers as well. The modern world is a world of change, where only the best companies that have clearly outlined strategies and goals are able to last and succeeded.

Osrednja tema magistrskega dela je svetovna gospodarska kriza in njen vpliv na avtomobilski trg v Sloveniji in drugih evropskih drţavah. Cilj dela je bil analizirati prodajo vozil in ostalih povezanih dejavnosti, ugotovitve pa predstaviti in primerjati. V teoretičnem delu so predstavljena stališča avtorjev in ţe izvedene raziskave na tem področju, empirični del pa vsebuje analize slovenskega trga vozil po letu 2007. Glavni metodi uporabljeni v magistrskem delu sta statistična metoda in metoda kompilacije, dodatno pa še metoda klasifikacije in deskripcije. Ugotovljeno je bilo, da je gospodarska kriza močno vplivala na prodajo vozil po celem svetu. Slovenija se je z upadom gospodarske rasti srečala proti koncu leta 2008. Posledično se je zmanjšala proizvodnja vozil in sestavnih delov, krčenje obsega proizvodnje pa je privedlo do številnih odpuščanj. Poenostavljeno, slovenski trg je podlegel razmeram na tujih trgih, vseeno pa je bilo v tem času storjenih veliko napačnih dejanj s strani drţave, podjetij in posameznikov. Z raziskavo smo preverili hipoteze, zastavljene v uvodnem delu naloge. Prva in druga hipoteza sta bili uspešno potrjeni s statističnimi podatki in analizami, tretja hipoteza pa je bila zavrnjena na podlagi podatkov o uvedenih ukrepih v času gospodarske krize. Četrta hipoteza je bila potrjena zgolj delno zaradi neenakosti trgov. Nenazadnje delo pomembno prispeva tudi na področju upravljavske ekonomike v javnem sektorju, prikazani ukrepi in nasveti pa lahko ugodno vplivajo na poslovanje podjetij in mišljenje ljudi ob nakupu avtomobilov. Na ta način bi se lahko prodalo več novih vozil, kar se odraţa v pomladitvi voznega parka in močnejšem gospodarstvu. The main topic of the present master's thesis is the global economic crisis and the impact on the automotive market in Slovenia and European countries. The aim of the study was to analyse the sales of vehicles and other directly related activities and to present and compare the findings. The theoretical part presents the author's views and already carried out research in this field while the empirical part contains analyses of the Slovenian vehicle market after 2007. Main methods used in the master’s thesis are the statistical method and the compilation method additionally, classification and descriptive method was used as well. It was found that the economic crisis had a major impact on the sale of vehicles around the world. Slovenia experienced a slowdown in economic growth towards the end of 2008 Consequently, the production of vehicles and components decreased, while the decline in production volumes led to numerous layoffs. Simply put, Slovenian market has succumbed to the situation on foreign markets, but at the same time, many wrong actions have been committed either by the state, companies or individuals. The survey examined the hypotheses set out in the introductory part of the paper. The first and the second hypotheses were successfully confirmed by statistical data and analyses, while the third hypothesis was rejected due to the information obtained about the measures taken during the economic crisis. The fourth hypothesis was confirmed only partly because of the inequality of markets. Finally, the work also creates an important contribution to the field of managerial economics in the public sector, measures and advice presented in the thesis, may also have positive impact, relating to the operating activities of the entity and perception of people when purchasing a car. In that manner, more new vehicles could be sold, resulting in the rejuvenation of the rolling stock and stronger economy.

V okviru naloge je bila zasnovana alfa komora za postavitev v Laboratorij za delovne stroje in tehnično akustiko na Fakulteti za strojništvo v Ljubljani. Alfa komora bo namenjena meritvam koeficienta absorpcije zvoka in zvočne moči majhnih naprav. Na podlagi pregleda literature in obstoječih rešitev so se identificirali in definirali ključni akustični parametri, geometrijske smernice in druge zahteve pri snovanje alfa komore. Na poenostavljenih 3D modelih je bila po metodi končnih elementov izvedena numerična analiza homogenosti distribucije lastnih frekvenc zvočnega polja v notranjem volumnu, na podlagi katere je bila na koncu določena geometrija komore. Na podlagi numerične analize frekvenčnega odziva nosilne konstrukcije ob vzbujanju z zvočnim signalom je bil izbran tudi optimalni material in dimenzije sestavnih elementov nosilne konstrukcije. Izdelan je bil podroben 3D model nosilne konstrukcije in pripravljena tehnična dokumentacija za jeklene nosilne elemente. Within this assignment, an alpha chamber was developed to be placed in the Laboratory of Working Machines and Technical Acoustics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Ljubljana. The alpha chamber will be used for sound absorption coefficient and small machines’ sound power measurements. Critical acoustic parameters, design guidelines and other objectives were identified and defined based on literature review and review of existing solutions. Simplified 3D models were used for finite element analysis of modal frequency distribution homogeneity in the inner volume of the chamber. Results of simulations represent the basis for the determination of the optimal sound field within the geometry of the chamber. Based on numerical analysis of load-carrying structure frequency response to sound signal excitation, optimal material and dimensions of load-carrying structure elements were determined. A detailed 3D model of load-carrying structure was constructed and technical documentation for steel load-carrying elements was prepared.

V diplomski nalogi je predstavljena zasnova inovativne rešitve na področju vklopljivega pogona na štiri kolesa. Prikazan je razvojni ciklus od zbiranja idej do same izdelave prototipa, s poudarkom na načinih zbiranja idej in koncipiranju tehničnih rešitev. Projektno delo je opisano na dejanskem primeru, z začetno razčlenitvijo problema. Posebej so predstavljene najboljše ideje, ki so nastale med samim procesom projektnega dela in na osnovi katerih je nastal koncept. Na dejanskem primeru so prikazane tudi prednosti ter morebitne pomanjkljivosti dela v skupini. Predstavljen je končni delujoči prototip, v zaključku pa so potrjene začetne hipoteze. In this thesis, the design of the innovative solution in the field of four-wheel drive is presented. The development cycle is presented from the collection of ideas, up to the very creation of the prototype, with an emphasis on the ways of collecting ideas and designing technical solutions. The project work is described on the actual case, with an initial analysis of the problem. The best ideas, which were created during the project work process, are separately presented. The created concept is based on these top ideas as well. The advantages and possible shortcomings of the group work are also shown on the actual case. In the end, the final prototype is presented, and the initial hypotheses are confirmed in conclusion.

Stroge zahteve po elektromagnetni združljivosti elektronskih naprav v avtomobilski industriji ženejo načrtovalce k iskanju optimalnih, cenovno dostopnih rešitev EMC izzivov že v začetni fazi priprave koncepta elektronske naprave. Elektromagnetno združljivost koncepta se navadno preverja šele, ko je na voljo njegov prototip. Disertacija predstavlja simulacijske modele in algoritme, ki omogočajo načrtovalcem oceno oziroma izračun elektromagnetnih sevalne emisij virtualnega modela koncepta elektronske naprave. Simulacijski modeli omogočajo analizo elektromagnetnih sevalnih emisij ter omogočajo zaznavanje in predhodno reševanje potencialnih problemov, v povezavi z zmanjševanjem nivojev emisij. Na podlagi merilne postavitve ožičenja iz standarda CISPR25 smo izdelali model za oceno elektromagnetnih sevalnih emisij ožičenja elektronske naprave. Model za izračun sevalnih emisij potrebuje porazdelitev amplitude in faze sofaznega toka ožičenja, ki ga izračunamo z modelom za oceno amplitude in faze sofaznega toka ožičenja. Model omogoča izračun amplitude in faze sofaznega toka ožičenja iz rezultatov simulacij celotnega modela za oceno nivojev elektromagnetnih sevalnih emisij v časovnem ali frekvenčnem prostoru. Simulacijski model vključuje tudi simulirane dejanske gradnike elektronske naprave npr. tiskano vezje, priključki, integrirano vezje, ožičenje, zaključitve ožičenja idr. V delu smo se osredotočili na elektronsko napravo, katere izvor emisij se nahaja v digitalnem delu CMOS integriranega vezja. Izdelali smo tudi model EMI sprejemnika, ki pretvori rezultate simulacij iz časovnega v frekvenčni prostor z upoštevanjem lastnosti EMI sprejemnika in tudi kot rezultat vrne pravilno fazo spektra. Oba modela, model za oceno amplitude in faze sofaznega toka ožičenja in model za oceno nivojev elektromagnetnih sevalnih emisij ožičenja smo verificirali v dveh EMC laboratorijih akreditiranih po standardu ISO/IEC 17025. V zadnjem delu disertacije predstavimo modeliranje sevalnih emisij testnega elektronskega vezja, ki bi bil namenjen za implementacijo senzorske aplikacije za vgradnjo v avtomobilski industriji. Elektronsko vezje vsebuje načrtano CMOS integrirano vezje, ki je poglaviten izvor elektromagnetnih emisij. Načrtali smo dve verziji integriranega vezja, ki se razlikujeta v načinu preklapljanja sinhronega digitalnega dela. V REF verziji integriranega vezja vse celice digitalnega dela preklapljajo sočasno, v SCT verziji pa je preklapljanje celic digitalnega dela razporejeno v eni periodi urinega cikla (ang. clock-skew). Izdelali smo simulacijske modele v časovnem in frekvenčnem prostoru za oceno prevodnih emisij integriranega vezja in rezultate simulacij primerjali z meritvami. Izdelali smo tudi simulacijske modele v časovnem in frekvenčnem prostoru za oceno sevalnih emisij elektronske naprave z integriranim vezje in rezultate primerjali z meritvami. Odstopanja med meritvami in rezultati simulacij smo analizirali ter izpostavili glavne vzroke za odstopanja. Strict EMC requirements for an automotive electronic component force designers to solve EMC issues as early in the design phase as possible, preferably in the concept phase. EMC solutions also need to be optimized, in order to achieve best cost to design electronic component. EMC measurements are performed on electronic component prototypes to check EMC performance of a design. Thesis presents simulation models and algorithms that enable designers to estimate electromagnetic radiated emissions of an automotive electronic component virtual concept. Analyses of electromagnetic radiated emissions and quicker solutions seeking to reduce the emission levels are also possible with presented simulation models. The model to estimate electromagnetic radiated emissions from an automotive electronic component’s cable harness was built based on a test setup used in measurements. The model requires cable harness common-mode current distribution in frequency domain. The common-mode current is calculated with the model to estimate amplitude and phase of common-mode current on a cable harness of an electronic component. The model calculates amplitude and phase of common-mode current by using simulation results from electromagnetic radiated emissions system simulation in time or frequency domain. Simulation include simulated real parts of electronic device e.g. printed circuit board, connectors, integrated circuit, cable harness, load simulators etc. Thesis is focused on automotive electronic components, where source of emissions originate from a digital part of integrated circuit. In order to be able to transform the results simulated in time domain to frequency domain, we have also built an EMI receiver model. The model takes into consideration the properties of EMI receiver used in emission measurements. We have upgraded the EMI receiver model to also calculate the phase spectrum of the emissions. Both models, model to estimate amplitude and phase of common-mode current on a cable harness and model to estimate electromagnetic radiated emissions from an automotive electronic component’s cable harness, were verified in two EMC laboratories accredited according to standard ISO/IEC 17025. We have compared the results obtained in both laboratories with results from simulations. In the last part of the thesis we present step-by-step modelling of electromagnetic radiated emissions on test electronic component intended for sensor applications in automotive industry. Electronic component uses CMOS integrated circuit, which is the major source of electromagnetic emissions. We have designed two versions of integrated circuit with synchronous digital parts. REF version of IC, where all gates switch simultaneously and SCT version of IC, where gate switching is distributed evenly in one clock period. We have built simulation models in time and frequency domain to simulate conducted emissions of integrated circuits. Simulation results were compared with the measurements. We have also built simulation models in time and frequency domain to simulate radiated emissions from automotive electronic component with integrated circuit. We have compared simulation results with measurements. Deviation between simulations and measurements were discussed.
