Validation is an important aspect of an instrument, and it ensures the confidence of researchers to employ the instrument in their studies. This study was conducted to develop and validate an instrument to assess knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) on digital health among nurses since digital health capacity is a major concern in health care that needs to be assessed.

Introduction & Methods: The aim of the study is to assess the Role of Myoinositol & Metformin on clinical, hormonal & metabolic profile of patients in Poly cystic Ovarian Syndrome. The women started with the intake of Myoinositol at a dosage of 2000 mg and 500 mg metformin used for a period of 01 Year. The primary outcome of the study was to determine the restoration of normal menstrual cycles, improvement in acne, reduction in hirsutism, weight loss & fertility. Results: We found maximum cases in 25-29.9 i.e. 51%. BMI - The chi-square statistic is 0.0003. The p-value is .047363. The result is significant at p < .05. Mean fasting blood glucose - 93.44±8.27. Mean Ultrasound Pelvis - 16.92±4.48 & Mean TSH - 2.73±2.66 Conclusion: In the present study, both Metformin and MI were equally effective in improving the clinical, metabolic, and hormonal profile in PCOS patients. BMI was significantly reduced by both the metformin and MI after 12 weeks of treatment. According to the available evidence on this molecule derived from inositol, MYO should be considered an effective and safe treatment for obese and non-obese women with PCOS with insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia, administered with the aim of improving oocyte quality and maturation and the reproductive prognosis in patients. Treatment with metformin (MET) ameliorated the insulin sensitivity and decreased the androgens levels, but the limitations to MET use are its gastrointestinal side effects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aimed to assess anxiety, stress, and depression levels among 300 nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic, utilizing a quantitative, cross-sectional design. Findings revealed that a majority experienced mild anxiety (53.7%), stress (64.3%), and depression (71.7%). Pearson's correlation showed moderate positive associations between stress and anxiety (p=0.002, r=0.376) and anxiety and depression (p=0.040, r=0.119), with a weak positive correlation between stress and depression (p=0.068, r=0.105). Age, professional experience, and marital status were associated with anxiety, stress, and depression levels. Work-related variables and fears significantly influenced anxiety and stress but not depression. The study underscores the need for targeted interventions and support to enhance nurses' well-being amid ongoing and future challenges. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The therapeutic actions indicated for low back pain, in addition to physiotherapy, include mobilization of the affected segment, as it is assumed that a loss of mobility may contribute to a patient's pain. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of back pain on the degrees of spinal mobility in young adults. Eighty-six volunteers participated in the study. Fingertip-to-floor distance, Schöber's test, the fingertip-to-floor lateral flexion test, GHQ-12, the Fear-Avoidance Beliefs Questionnaire and the STarT Back Screening Tool were used. There were statistically significant differences between the two groups (pain and no pain) in degrees of spinal flexion (Schöber's test and side flexion) showing greater mobility in the group with pain. However, the group with low back pain showed less rotational mobility. The presence or absence of back pain had an impact on the individual's sporting practice and perception of pain, and they were able to carry out their sporting activities normally. Young adults with idiopathic low back pain showed some statistically significant differences in relation to the mobility of the spine in the different planes of movement (flexion and side flexion), conditioning their quality of life and sports practice. Mortality in patients with infective endocarditis (IE) remains high. The existing risk scores are relatively complex with limited clinical application. This study was conducted to establish a new risk model to predict in-hospital and 6-month mortality in IE patients. A total of 1549 adult patients with definite IE admitted to Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital (n=1354) or Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital (n=195) were included. The derivation cohort consisted of 1141 patients. The score was developed using the multivariate stepwise logistic regression analysis for in-hospital death. Bootstrap analysis was used for validation. Discrimination and calibration were evaluated by the receiver operating characteristic curve and the Hosmer–Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test. Six risk factors were used as score parameters (1 point for each): aortic valve affected, previous valve replacement surgery, severe heart failure, elevated serum direct bilirubin, moderate–severe anemia and acute stage. The predictive value and calibration of the ASSESS-IE score for in-hospital death were excellent in the derivation (area under the curve [AUC]=0.781, p<0.001; Hosmer–Lemeshow p=0.948) and validation (AUC=0.779, p<0.001; Hosmer–Lemeshow p=0.520) cohorts. The score remained excellent in bootstrap validation (AUC=0.783). The discriminatory ability of the ASSESS-IE score for in-hospital (AUC: 0.781 vs. 0.799, p=0.398) and 6-month mortality (AUC: 0.778 vs. 0.814, p=0.040) were similar with that of Park's score which comprised 14 variables. Total phosphorus, as one of the main indicators for evaluating water eutrophication, is an important detection indicator for water quality monitoring in aquaculture processes. Background: Medical professionals can use mass-casualty triage systems to assist them in prioritizing patients from mass-casualty incidents (MCIs). Correct triaging of victims will increase their chances of survival. Determining the triage system that has the best performance has proven to be a difficult question to answer. The Advanced Prehospital Triage Model (Modelo Extrahospitalario de Triaje Avanzado; META) and Sort, Assess, Lifesaving Interventions, Treatment/Transport (SALT) algorithms are the most recent triage techniques to be published. The present study aimed to evaluate the META and SALT algorithms' performance and statistical agreement with various standards. The secondary objective was to determine whether these two MCI triage systems predicted patient outcomes, such as mortality, length-of-stay, and intensive care unit (ICU) admission. Methods: This retrospective study used patient data from the trauma registry of an American College of Surgeons Level 1 trauma center, from January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2020. The sensitivity, specificity, and statistical agreement of the META and SALT triage systems to various standards (Revised Trauma Score [RTS]/Sort Triage, Injury Severity Score [ISS], and Lerner criteria) when applied using trauma patients. Statistical analysis was used to assess the relationship between each triage category and the secondary outcomes. Results: A total of 3,097 cases were included in the study. Using Sort triage as the standard, SALT and META showed much higher sensitivity and specificity in the Immediate category than for Delayed (Immediate sensitivity META 91.5%, SALT 94.9%; specificity 60.8%, 72.7% versus Delayed sensitivity 28.9%, 1.3%; specificity 42.4%, 28.9%). With the Lerner criteria, in the Immediate category, META had higher sensitivity (77.1%, SALT 68.6%) but lower specificity (61.1%) than SALT (71.8%). For the Delayed category, SALT showed higher sensitivity (META 61.4%, SALT 72.2%), but lower specificity (META 75.1%, SALT 67.2%). Both systems showed a positive, though modest, correlation with ISS. For SALT and META, triaged Immediate patients tended to have higher mortality and longer ICU and hospital lengths-of-stay. Conclusion: Both META and SALT triage appear to be more accurate with Immediate category patients, as opposed to Delayed category patients. With both systems, patients triaged as Immediate have higher mortality and longer lengths-of-stay when compared to Delayed patients. Background Caregivers form an integral part of the psychosocial management of patients with psychiatric conditions. Caregivers of patients with major psychiatric disorders feel burdened, as these disorders are unpredictable and long lasting. The study was aimed to assess the quality of life (QOL) and expressed emotion among caregivers of patient's with psychiatric disorders. Materials and Methods A cross-sectional descriptive design was adopted for the study. The sample consisted of 300 caregivers of psychiatric patients who visited psychiatric outpatient department and inpatient department of selected hospital. The caregivers were selected by using convenient sampling technique. Baseline proforma, the World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale (WHO QOL BREF), and Family Attitude Scale were used to collect the data. Results Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. The analysis revealed that there was a weak negative correlation between QOL and expressed emotions. The obtained " r" value (−0.14) was statistically not significant at 0.05 level of significance. Hence, the research hypothesis was rejected and the null hypothesis was accepted. Conclusion The study concluded that there was a low negative correlation between QOL and expressed emotions. The obtained " r " value (−0.14) is statistically not significant at 0.05 level of significance. But there was association between QOL and income and occupation of the caregiver. Background: The global burden of colorectal cancer remains a major public health issue and one of the leading causes of death worldwide. In Saudi Arabia, it continues to be a health concern. Any delays in diagnosis for any reason may contribute to advanced complications; therefore, pharmacists' knowledge and awareness of colorectal cancer are crucial for the welfare of society. Studies of colon cancer-related knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) among community pharmacists have not previously been conducted in the Al-Qassim region of Saudi Arabia. In the present study, therefore, we sought to investigate the KAP on colon cancer among pharmacists in Al-Qassim. Methods: This was a prospective, cross-sectional, observational study. A sample of 150 community pharmacists was recruited using a convenience sampling method. A self-administered questionnaire was used to evaluate levels of knowledge and practice. Results: Out of a total of 150 pharmacists, the majority of respondents (60.7%) possessed an adequate level of knowledge. About 50% of participants had heard of the early screening test, and 68.7% knew that colonoscopy is necessary in such scenarios. On the basis of their attitudes, 41.3% of study participants were aware of colon cancer symptoms and risk factors. In practice, however, the majority of pharmacists (81%) did not perform early cancer screenings, while 19% did screen when advised to do so by a physician. Conclusions: Our results indicate that pharmacists in Qassim have an adequate level of knowledge of colon cancer in terms of awareness, assessment, and screening. Since community pharmacists are among the most reliable members of the medical community, a greater awareness of colon cancer among pharmacists may improve public knowledge of the disease. This study aimed to explore how the peer support programme gave influences on technical high school pupils in Japan. The study invited a total 76 pupils (37 in an intervention group and 39 in a control group) to be involved into the peer support programme and assessments. The participants were annually assessed three times by adopting four scales, which examined their interpersonal relationship level, self-esteem, mental health, and school environmental adaptation states. The results showed that pupils in the intervention group (the peer supporters) tended to improve their own skills and abilities in terms of all the scales after joining the programme. Also, in terms of Adaptation Scale for School Environments on Six Spheres (ASSESS), which was a newly developed scale, there were no significant positive influences in both areas of "fulfillments in study" and "peer support activities against bullying". As a conclusion, even in the technical high school where the majority of pupils were male, the peer support programme gave positive influences on the intervention group (the peer supporters) in terms of interpersonal relationship level, self-esteem, mental health, and school environmental adaptation states. Background: The current study was aimed to assess the practice of incentive spirometer among postoperative patients at selected hospital. Material and Method: A descriptive observational study design with nonprobability purposive sampling was adopted to conduct a study among 60 postoperative patients of general surgery in patient department. Data were gathered by structured questionnaires using demographic variables and biological parameters. Confidentiality was maintained throughout the procedure. Collected data were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Result: The results revealed that the Day 1, 27 (54%) had inadequate practice, 20 (40%) had moderately adequate practice, and 3 (6%) had adequate practice. On Day 2, 20 (40%) had adequate practice, 20 (40%) had moderately adequate practice, and 10 (20%) had inadequate practice. On Day 3, 36 (72%) had adequate practice, 8 (16%) had moderately adequate practice, and 6 (12%) had inadequate practice. The demographic variables did not shown statistically significant association with level of practice of flow-oriented incentive spirometer among the postoperative patients on Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3.

The determinants of asthma severity are poorly understood. We tested the hypothesis that asthma severity was associated with 1) atopy and allergy and 2) markers associated with environmental exposure.Patients and Methods: Data from the FASE-CPHG study, a cross-sectional, observational, multicenter investigation, were analyzed to identify markers associated with asthma severity. Asthma severity was gauged using the ASSESS score, encompassing symptom control, exacerbations, FEV1 and therapeutic load. Bivariate and multivariate analyses were used to identify patient characteristics associated with the ASSESS score.Results: The analysis involved 948 patients, with 592 women, of which 447 patients (47%) had severe asthma. Among these, 491 patients (52%) had at least one positive aeroallergen skin prick test and 525 (55%) had at least one allergic disease among atopic dermatitis, chronic rhinitis and food allergy. The mean±SD ASSESS score was 11.2± 3.4. Characteristics associated with a higher ASSESS score were female sex, secondary or lower education, unemployed occupational status, smoking, work-aggravated asthma and urban housing. There was no association between the ASSESS score and allergic diseases, aeroallergen-specific skin prick tests and IgEs, or blood eosinophil counts.Conclusion: While atopy and allergy were frequent among asthmatics, neither was associated with asthma severity. The financial performance of insurance companies plays a fundamental role in driving the overall economy towards economic development and progress. The study aims to examine the impact of financial performance indicators on the Return on Equity (ROE) and Return on Assets (ROA) of nonlife insurance companies. In the methodology of study, 13 nonlife insurance companies have been considered, and panel data have been analyzed for a 14-year period (2008–2021). The fixed effects model was estimated using the E-Views software package. The panel data analysis results point to a noteworthy and favorable impact on ROA, explaining 92.75% of its variance. The results show that there is a strong positive relationship between ROA and four key factors: gross premium, retention ratio, expense ratio, and combined ratio. This underscores the importance of enhancing elements like gross premium, retention ratio, expense ratio, and combined ratio to elevate ROA. The conclusion of the study provides useful insights for improving the financial performance and competitiveness of nonlife insurance companies in Nepal. The study reveals the key success factors that affect the profitability and efficiency of the insurance sector. This suggests that nonlife insurance companies in Nepal can improve their profitability by focusing on increasing their gross premium, retention ratio, reducing expense ratio, and decreasing combined ratio. The findings have important implications for enhancing the performance and competitiveness of the nonlife insurance sector in Nepal.

FitEx is an 8-week, group-based physical activity and fruit and vegetable consumption program co-created and implemented with the Cooperative Extension System. Effectiveness and delivery personnel perceptions of the program are promising; however, ongoing adaptations are required to continuously meet shifting needs of both researchers and delivery systems. We applied the APDER iterative cycles of implementation over 15 years to understand dynamic and ongoing adaptations as well as implications for FitEx sustainability. Each year, an IRPP between delivery (FitEx deliverers) and research (FitEx developers) systems shared feedback on program core elements and strategies for adaptation through regular team meetings, emails, and evaluations. While the core elements (delivering to groups, goal setting, feedback, and self-monitoring) of FitEx remained consistent, changes were made to address logistical factors, emergent research questions, and technological advancements. For example, program deliverers suggested decreasing training time and making program content available on demand rather than through traditional in-person training. Using APDER with a long-standing IRPP allowed the delivery system to provide feedback to program developers to co-create ongoing adaptations and data-driven decisions. Future work in response to shifting needs includes Fitbit integration and technological updates to the usability of the FitEx platform. Our aim is to report the 15+ years of applying the Assess, Plan, Do, Evaluate, Report (APDER) process with an integrated research–practice partnership (IRPP) for co-creation of ongoing adaptations of FitEx and to share methods for capturing relevant data for decision-making to integrate health promotion programs in community settings. Introduction: Indonesia is widely recognized as a geographically complex nation which is comprised of an estimated 17,000 islands and with its 264 million inhabitants, it faces a unique combination of having to organize and deliver health care services to a diverse population who speak 724 languages or dialects. Aim: The purpose of this critical reflective narrative is to expand on the challenging structure of healthcare in Indonesia and the corresponding environment for nursing. More specifically we elaborated on health care settings, delivery of care and nursing education in the midst of complex targeted healthcare reforms. Methods: For this paper's needs a review and critical analysis was conducted by a systematic search in PubMed and Google Scholar, including papers from within the last two decades. Following critical taxonomy of the original output (i.e. 553 refs), a final 36 references were selected for inclusion. Results and Discussion: Results have been organized under the broad categories of Health Care structure and delivery followed by Nursing Education and are further elaborated via critical narration under five detailed sub-categories, i.e. The health care system in Indonesia (Specialized health centers and hospitals), Community Nursing, School Nursing, Home Care Nurse, Nursing Education in Indonesia Conclusions: Indonesia's wide geographical expanse of islands and population diversity makes health care delivery a complex task. Thus, the country should be praised for tackling these challenges and initiatives such as the creation of the PUSKESMAS network which increased geographic access and national healthcare coverage. This action research study aimed to ascertain the usefulness of a modified version of the reflective approach to teaching practicum debriefing (MVRATPD) strategy in ascertaining the degree to which students in a United Kingdom university faculty of education achieved module learning outcomes (LOCs). Using purposeful convenient sampling, twenty-seven(n = 27) students on the education studies pathway at the university, studying the module entitled international and comparative education, participated. The usefulness of the MVRATPD is revealed in several ways. It is primarily a reflective assessment instrument as purported by Minott. It revealed a direct fulfilment of several module objectives linked to several LOCs. However, for this study, it was not useful in capturing data about all 4 LOCs. Specifically, it captured no data related to LOC 2. The conclusion is that the MVRATPD, in its present form should not be the sole determinant of the degree to which LOCs are achieved. It is however, a complementary indirect reflective instrument for assessing LOCs and a user-friendly, practical and uncomplicated data collection tool i.e. using three reflective questions. We aimed to systematically review and meta-analyse studies on the prognostic value of post-operative C-reactive protein (CRP)-based inflammatory biomarkers among patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) (PROSPERO&num;: CRD42022293832). PubMed, Web of Science and Cochrane databases were searched until February 2023. Studies reporting associations between post-operative CRP, Glasgow Prognostic Score (GPS) or modified Glasgow Prognostic Score (mGPS) with overall survival (OS), CRC-specific survival (CSS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS) were included. Hazard ratios (HRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for the predictor-outcome associations were pooled using R-software, version 4.2. Sixteen studies (n = 6079) were included in the meta-analyses. Elevated post-operative CRP was a predictor of poor OS, CSS and RFS compared with low CRP levels [HR (95% CI): 1.72 (1.32– 2.25); 1.63 (1.30– 2.05); 2.23 (1.44– 3.47), respectively]. A unit increase in post-operative GPS predicted poor OS [HR (95% Cl): 1.31 (1.14– 1.51)]. Moreover, a unit increase in post-operative mGPS was associated with poor OS and CSS [HR (95% Cl): 1.93 (1.37– 2.72); 3.16 (1.48– 6.76), respectively]. Post-operative CRP-based inflammatory biomarkers have a significant prognostic role for patients with CRC. Prognostic value of these easy-to-obtain routine measurements thereby seems to outperform most of the much more complex blood- or tissue-based predictors in the current focus of multi-omics-based research. Abstract Aim To investigate the status and influencing factors of health information literacy in patients with intermediate‐stage chronic kidney disease (CKD). Design A prospective clinical study. Methods We used a CKD health information literacy questionnaire to survey 130 patients with intermediate‐stage CKD and valuate their health needs and health knowledge. We performed the study in strict accordance with the Guidelines for Clinical Trial Protocols. We registered the study in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registration Center (registration No. ChiCTR2100053103; approval No. K56‐1). Results The overall health information literacy of CKD was relatively low. Low education level, advanced age and unemployment were influencing factors. The scores of assessment ability, literacy awareness, application ability, integration ability and CKD health knowledge reserve were relatively low. The generalized linear model showed that the older the men, the lower their health information literacy.

Adolescence is a unique stage of human development and an important time for laying the foundation of good health. Many adolescents lack basic reproductive health information, knowledge, and access to health services. Lack of knowledge and attitudes about reproductive health may lead to inappropriate practices among adolescents. Knowledge and attitude assessment studies play an important role in improving awareness among adolescents about reproductive health. Aims: The aim of the study was to assess the level of knowledge and attitude about reproductive health among adolescent girls and boys. Methodology: A Quantitative Non-experimental research study was conducted. 100 adolescents (50 boys and 50 girls) from 8th, 9th, and 10thstandard were chosen for the study. A standardized questionnaire was used to examine their sociodemographic profile, knowledge, and attitudes toward reproductive health. Result: The average knowledge score of girls was 38% and the average knowledge score of boys was 34%. Girls had a higher mean knowledge score (9.56) compared to boys (9.34). Girls also had a higher mean attitude score (39.44) compared to boys (37.86). There was a significant small positive relationship between knowledge and attitude score among girls, but a non-significant small positive relationship among boys. Girls and 10th standard students had more knowledge compared to boys and 9th& 8th standard students. There was no strong evidence to suggest that girls and boys significantly differ in knowledge and attitude based on the given data. Conclusion: Adolescents still lack the right information about reproductive health. It is important to educate adolescents about reproductive health in an age-appropriate manner. Background: Alcohol abuse is a significant global burden. Many families have been affected, and many are victims of its abuse. The effect ripple down not only in the life of the person abusing alcohol but also to the immediate and extended family members, which can be multiple and detrimental. Depression is one of the effects which can lead to further alcohol abuse. A vicious cycle is observed among the individual abusing alcohol, which in turn affects the other family members of the individual. Depression symptoms are common in alcohol abusing patients of all ages and are much more common than the diagnosable depressive disorder. Aims and Objectives: The current study aims to assess the prevalence of depression among alcoholics, among inpatients and also find the associations between the prevalence of depression and selected socio and clinical demographic variables. Materials and Methods: The method adopted by the study was descriptive study method using the total enumerative sampling technique. The CAGE questionnaire was used to screen out the patients for level of dependence. The tool used is the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-) to assess the prevalence. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the study. Results: The study results revealed that 74.2% of the participants were depressed widely distributed in all the levels with severity assessed by the PHQ9 questionnaire. The study also indicated that a family history of alcohol abuse is significantly associated with the prevalence of depression among alcoholics. The study result strongly indicates that depression is very much prevalent among alcoholics, along with other multiple co morbidities. Conclusion: Patients abusing alcohol needs continuous and regular assessment for early identification and adopts strategies for the management of the same. The management of depressive symptoms through the adoption of various therapies such as psychotherapy, other alternative systems of therapies and recreational therapies are much recommended. The treating health care team should consider strongly the use of pharmacological means, if the patient is found to be having depression, in the course of treatment in the hospital.
