Purpose To evaluate and report the performance of the winning algorithms of the Radiological Society of North America Cervical Spine Fracture AI Challenge. Materials and Methods The competition was open to the public on Kaggle from July 28 to October 27, 2022. A sample of 3112 CT scans with and without cervical spine fractures (CSFx) were assembled from multiple sites (12 institutions across six continents) and prepared for the competition. The test set had 1093 scans (private test set: n = 789; mean age, 53.40 years ± 22.86 [SD]; 509 males; public test set: n = 304; mean age, 52.51 years ± 20.73; 189 males) and 847 fractures. The eight top-performing artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms were retrospectively evaluated, and the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) value, F1 score, sensitivity, and specificity were calculated. Results A total of 1108 contestants composing 883 teams worldwide participated in the competition. The top eight AI models showed high performance, with a mean AUC value of 0.96 (95% CI: 0.95, 0.96), mean F1 score of 90% (95% CI: 90%, 91%), mean sensitivity of 88% (95% Cl: 86%, 90%), and mean specificity of 94% (95% CI: 93%, 96%). The highest values reported for previous models were an AUC of 0.85, F1 score of 81%, sensitivity of 76%, and specificity of 97%. Conclusion The competition successfully facilitated the development of AI models that could detect and localize CSFx on CT scans with high performance outcomes, which appear to exceed known values of previously reported models. Further study is needed to evaluate the generalizability of these models in a clinical environment. In data-scarce regions, prudent planning and precise decision-making for sustainable development, especially in agriculture, remain challenging due to the lack of correct information. Remotely sensed satellite images provide a powerful source for assessing land use and land cover (LULC) classes and crop identification. Applying remote sensing (RS) in conjunction with the Geographical Information System (GIS) and modern tools/algorithms of artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning has been proven effective for strategic planning and integrated resource management. The study was conducted in the canal command area of the Lower Chenab Canal system in Punjab, Pakistan. Crop features/classes were assessed using the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) algorithm. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) 250 m and Landsat 5 TM (thematic mapper) images were deployed for NDVI time-series analysis with an unsupervised classification technique to obtain LULC classes that helped to discern cropping pattern, crop rotation, and the area of specific crops, which were then used as key inputs for agricultural mechanization planning and resource management. The accuracy of the LULC map was 78%, as assessed by the error matrix approach. Limitations of high-resolution RS data availability and the accuracy of the results are the concerns observed in this study that could be managed by the availability of good quality local sources and advanced processing techniques, that would make it more useful and applicable for regional agriculture and environmental management. Active learning solves the problem of requiring a large amount of manpower and resources due to the large size of training samples. The core problem is how to select valuable samples to reduce annotation costs. Using neural networks as classifiers, most methods choose samples with large amounts of information without considering the issue of information redundancy between the selected samples. Through the study of redundancy issues, the author proposes a sample selection optimization method to reduce information redundancy. Using uncertainty methods to select samples with high information content to form a candidate sample set, and using latent variable vectors calculated in the network to represent sample information, the cosine distance between candidate samples is calculated using this vector to select subsets with large interval distance and low information redundancy. Compared with several uncertainty methods in the Mnist, Fashion mnist, and Cifar-10 datasets, this method reduces labeled samples by a minimum of 11% with the same sample accuracy. The higher the dimensionality of the feature vector calculated by CNN, the more candidate samples it contains, and the more information it contains. After being improved by self supervised learning algorithms, the effect becomes more significant. The more candidate samples are selected, the stronger the information redundancy. Rapid and in-situ sensing of the geological conditions of the rock mass is crucial to the tunnel boring machine (TBM) excavation process. The changes in rock strength and abrasiveness directly affect the working status of the TBM cutters and the tunneling efficiency. The content of quartz, as one of the important mineral components of rock, has a direct correlation with the wear state of the cutters. However, the current analysis of rock minerals still lacks a timely and convenient calculation method. In this study, a quartz content prediction method combining laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), rock chemical analysis and artificial intelligence algorithm is proposed. The spectral intensities of the main elements of the rock are obtained by LIBS detection of the muck on the belt machine. Then the quantitative characterization relationship between rock elements and mineral composition is analyzed to establish a transformation matrix. Finally, the mapping relationship between rock major element content and spectral intensity is established based on the random forest algorithm of Bayesian optimization (BO-RF). Subsequently, a prediction model for the mineral content of rocks, including quartz, is established. Relying on the Zhujiang Delta Water Resources Allocation Engineering, the prediction effects of this method and the other two algorithms (BO-Catboost and PLSR) are compared and verified. The results show that the prediction error of quartz content is less than 13% for all three methods, with the smallest error of 10.79% for the proposed method in this study. The work highlights the use of Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled Predictive Maintenance (PdM) as a revolutionary strategy across many sectors. This article presents a picture of a future in which the use of IoT technology and sophisticated analytics will enable the prediction and proactive mitigation of probable equipment failures. This literature study has great importance as it thoroughly explores the complex steps and techniques necessary for the development and implementation of efficient PdM solutions. The study offers useful insights into the optimisation of maintenance methods and the enhancement of operational efficiency by analysing current information and approaches. The field of image analysis with artificial intelligence has grown exponentially thanks to the development of neural networks. One of its most promising areas is medical diagnosis through lung X-rays, which are crucial for diseases like pneumonia, which can be mistaken for other conditions. Despite medical expertise, precise diagnosis is challenging, and this is where well-trained algorithms can assist. However, working with medical images presents challenges, especially when datasets are limited and unbalanced. Strategies to balance these classes have been explored, but understanding their local impact and how they affect model evaluation is still lacking. This work aims to analyze how a class imbalance in a dataset can significantly influence the informativeness of metrics used to evaluate predictions. It demonstrates that class separation in a dataset impacts trained models and is a strategy deserving more attention in future research. To achieve these goals, classification models using artificial and deep neural networks implemented in the R environment are developed. These models are trained using a set of publicly available images related to lung pathologies. All results are validated using metrics obtained from the confusion matrix to verify the impact of data imbalance on the performance of medical diagnostic models. The results raise questions about the procedures used to group classes in many studies, aiming to achieve class balance in imbalanced data and open new avenues for future research to investigate the impact of class separation in datasets with clinical pathologies. This paper presents a novel approach to estimating short-term production of wind farms, which are made up of numerous turbine generators. It harnesses the power of big data through a blend of data-driven and model-based methods. Specifically, it combines an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) for immediate future predictions of wind turbine power output with a stochastic model for dependability, using Hybrid Reliability Block Diagrams. A thorough state-of-the-art review has been conducted in order to demonstrate the applicability of an ANN for non-linear stochastic problems of energy or power forecast estimation. The study leverages an innovative cluster analysis to group wind turbines and reduce the computational effort of the ANN, with a dependability model that improves the accuracy of the data-driven output estimation. Therefore, the main novelty is the employment of a hybrid model that combines an ANN with a dependability stochastic model that accounts for the realistic operational scenarios of wind turbines, including their susceptibility to random shutdowns This approach marks a significant advancement in the field, introducing a methodology which can aid the design and the power production forecast. The research has been applied to a case study of a 24 MW wind farm located in the south of Italy, characterized by 28 turbines. The findings demonstrate that the integrated model significantly enhances short-term wind-energy production estimation, achieving a 480% improvement in accuracy over the solo-clustering approach. Background: Flow starvation is a type of patient-ventilator asynchrony that occurs when gas delivery does not fully meet the patients' ventilatory demand due to an insufficient airflow and/or a high inspiratory effort, and it is usually identified by visual inspection of airway pressure waveform. Clinical diagnosis is cumbersome and prone to underdiagnosis, being an opportunity for artificial intelligence. Our objective is to develop a supervised artificial intelligence algorithm for identifying airway pressure deformation during square-flow assisted ventilation and patient-triggered breaths. Methods: Multicenter, observational study. Adult critically ill patients under mechanical ventilation > 24 h on square-flow assisted ventilation were included. As the reference, 5 intensive care experts classified airway pressure deformation severity. Convolutional neural network and recurrent neural network models were trained and evaluated using accuracy, precision, recall and F1 score. In a subgroup of patients with esophageal pressure measurement (ΔPes), we analyzed the association between the intensity of the inspiratory effort and the airway pressure deformation. Results: 6428 breaths from 28 patients were analyzed, 42% were classified as having normal-mild, 23% moderate, and 34% severe airway pressure deformation. The accuracy of recurrent neural network algorithm and convolutional neural network were 87.9% [87.6–88.3], and 86.8% [86.6–87.4], respectively. Double triggering appeared in 8.8% of breaths, always in the presence of severe airway pressure deformation. The subgroup analysis demonstrated that 74.4% of breaths classified as severe airway pressure deformation had a ΔPes > 10 cmH2O and 37.2% a ΔPes > 15 cmH2O. Conclusions: Recurrent neural network model appears excellent to identify airway pressure deformation due to flow starvation. It could be used as a real-time, 24-h bedside monitoring tool to minimize unrecognized periods of inappropriate patient-ventilator interaction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Through real-time monitoring and predictive analytics, this approach enables proactive decision-making, allowing companies to adapt quickly to changing environmental regulations and market dynamics. The integration of AI not only enhances the accuracy and reliability of carbon footprint assessments but also provides insights for continuous improvement and sustainability performance tracking. Software-defined networking (SDN) architecture enables flexible and centralized network management from the controller, making it increasingly attractive in deploying telecommunications services. However, despite the many benefits of SDN, the vulnerabilities inherent in its architecture must be considered, and potential attacks must be discarded. When this occurs, not only the technical areas are interested in the source of the problem, but also the organizational areas, since attacks can violate terms of service and lead to legal actions. Despite the shared interest in cybersecurity event information, forensics and incident response processes often operate independently, impacting the root cause determination. Considering this concern, an architectural evolution for digital forensics and incident response (DFIR) management is introduced. This paper presents an event filtering model that serves as a trigger for initialing the DFIR process, which involves the detection of unusual traffic and unexpected behavior of SDN elements. The proposal applies artificial intelligence technology and showcases the performance of the model and the presentation of a proprietary dataset obtained from OpenFlow traffic.

We use five established, but conceptually different artificial intelligence algorithms for analysing clogging and quantifying colloid transport at pore scale: artificial neural networks, decision tree, random forest, linear regression, and support vector regression. We test how these algorithm can predict clogging by interpolating physics based simulation data. Our training and test data set is based on results from Lattice Boltzmann simulations reproducing the physics of colloid transport through a typical pore throat present in glass beads or medium sized sand. We perform hyperparameter optimization through cross validation for all algorithms. The tree based methods have the highest Nash–Sutcliffe efficiencies among all tested algorithms with values mostly above 0.9 for the independent test data. The event of clogging can be predicted even with 100% accuracy. Our results indicate a non-linear, rather categorial nature of the (simulation) data. This is in contrast to the typical use of neural network algorithms for simulation data while tree based methods are often applied to observational data. We partly link this to the small size of our dataset. Our application of artificial intelligence in porous media research shows that time-consuming Lattice Boltzmann simulations can be easily supplemented and extended at small computational costs while predictability of clogging and quantitative effects of process specific parameters on colloidal transport are given with high reliability. Liver transplantation is the only treatment for patients with liver failure. As demand for liver transplantation grows, it remains a challenge to predict the short- and long-term survival of the liver graft. Recently, artificial intelligence models have been used to evaluate the short- and long-term survival of the liver transplant. To make the models more accurate, suitable liver transplantation characteristics must be used as input to train them. In this narrative review, we reviewed studies concerning liver transplantations published in the PubMed, Web of Science, and Cochrane databases between 2017 and 2022. We picked out 17 studies using our selection criteria and analyzed them, evaluating which medical characteristics were used as input for creation of artificial intelligence models. In eight studies, models estimating only short-term liver graft survival were created, while in five of the studies, models for the prediction of only long-term liver graft survival were built. In four of the studies, artificial intelligence algorithms evaluating both the short- and long-term liver graft survival were created. Medical characteristics that were used as input in reviewed studies and had the biggest impact on the accuracy of the model were the recipient's age, recipient's body mass index, creatinine levels in the recipient's serum, recipient's international normalized ratio, diabetes mellitus, and recipient's model of end-stage liver disease score. To conclude, in order to define important liver transplantation characteristics that could be used as an input for artificial intelligence algorithms when predicting liver graft survival, more models need to be created and analyzed, in order to fully support the results of this review.

Recently, a lot of attention has been paid to the application of artificial intelligence in the field of games. A review of recent achievements is an important component for determining further vectors of research in this area. The main part of the article offers a review of literary sources, which provides a detailed analysis of the use of artificial intelligence in games, including methods of learning with a teacher, learning with reinforcement and others. Issues of modeling in games and the impact of artificial intelligence on society are also considered. The article highlights the role of games not only as an entertainment event, but also in the military, corporate and advertising spheres. The possibilities of using artificial intelligence to improve the learning process and its impact on the ethics of educational applications are also explored. The paper examines a wide range of applications of artificial intelligence in games, including team analysis of sports games and optimization of a three-player game. Possibilities of preventing violations of the rules by players and improving game content are being investigated. In conclusion, the article demonstrates the diversity and perspective of the application of artificial intelligence in the field of games and provides a valuable contribution to the development of this field.

A consistent direction in which financial risk and bankruptcy analysis models were developed was the inclusion of artificial intelligence algorithms in the methodology, they are being used in most of the cases to achieve some classifications. The artificial intelligence (machine learning) algorithms widely used for the analysis of financial or bankruptcy risks, presented in the paper, are: KNN (K-Nearest Neighbor) algorithm; Support Vector Machine (SVM); Random Forest; Neural networks (ANN – Artificial Neural Networks). Using these algorithms, companies can be classified into different categories, based on some variables, and the final result is to obtain a certain probability of bankruptcy or insolvency for that company. Obviously, there are limitations of the models and problems that can arise from their estimation, among the most well-known being overfitting (the risk of learning the model to perform very well only for the data series being used on). In recent years, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) factors have played a very important role. We believe that this is a direction in which the analysis of bankruptcy risk and financial risks could go, by including sustainability aspects in the models.

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and techniques has provided a significant advance in drone technology. Besides the military applications, drones are being increasingly used for logistics and cargo transportation, agriculture, construction, security and surveillance, exploration, and mobile wireless communication. The synergy between drones and AI has led to notable progress in the autonomy of drones, which have become capable of completing complex missions without direct human supervision. This study of the state of the art examines the impact of AI on improving drone autonomous behavior, covering from automation to complex real-time decision making. The paper provides detailed examples of the latest developments and applications. Ethical and regulatory challenges are also considered for the future evolution of this field of research, because drones with AI have the potential to greatly change our socioeconomic landscape.

Within scientific debate on post-digital and education, we present a position paper to describe a research project aimed at the design of a predictive model for students’ low achievements in mathematics in Italy. The model is based on the INVALSI data set, an Italian large-scale assessment test, and we use decision trees as the classification algorithm. In designing this tool, we aim to overcome the use of economic, social, and cultural context indices as main factors for the prediction of a learning gap occurrence. Indeed, we want to include a suitable representation of students’ learning in the model, by exploiting the data collected through the INVALSI tests. We resort to a knowledge-based approach to address this issue and specifically, we try to understand what knowledge is introduced into the model through the representation of learning. In this sense, our proposal allows a students’ learning encoding, which is transferable to different students’ cohort. Furthermore, the encoding methods may be applied to other large-scale assessments test. Hence, we aim to contribute to a debate on knowledge representation in AI tool for education.

This study presents a comprehensive literature review on the convergence of affective computing, interactive installation art, multi-dimensional sensory stimulation, and artificial intelligence (AI) in measuring emotional responses, demonstrating the potential of artificial intelligence in emotion recognition as a tool for sustainable development. It addresses the problem of understanding emotional response and measurement in the context of interactive installation art under artificial intelligence (AI), emphasizing sustainability as a key factor. The study aims to fill the existing research gaps by examining three key aspects: sensory stimulation, multi-dimensional interactions, and engagement, which have been identified as significant contributors to profound emotional responses in interactive installation art. The proposed approach involves conducting a process analysis of emotional responses to interactive installation art, aiming to develop a conceptual framework that explores the variables influencing emotional responses. This study formulates hypotheses that make specific predictions about the relationships between sensory stimulation, multi-dimensional interactions, engagement, and emotional responses. By employing the ASSURE model combined with experimental design, the research methodology ensures a systematic and comprehensive study implementation. The implications of this project lie in advancing the understanding of emotional experiences in interactive installation art under AI, providing insights into the underlying mechanisms that drive these experiences, and their influence on individual well-being from a sustainable perspective. The contributions of this research include bridging the identified research gaps, refining theoretical frameworks, and guiding the design of more impactful and emotionally resonant interactive artworks with sustainability in mind. This research seeks not only to fill the existing gaps in understanding emotional experiences in interactive installation art, but also to guide the development of immersive and emotionally engaging installations, ultimately advancing the broader field of human–computer interaction, promoting individual well-being, and contribute to sustainable development. The probability of collisions at sea has increased in recent years. Furthermore, passive collision avoidance has some disadvantages, such as low economic efficiency, while active collision avoidance techniques have some limitations. As a result of the advancement of computer technology, active collision avoidance techniques have also been optimized by using artificial intelligence-based methods. The purpose of this paper is to further the development of the field. After reviewing some passive collision avoidance schemes, the paper discusses the potential of active obstacle avoidance techniques. A time-tracing approach is used to review the evolution of active obstacle avoidance techniques, followed by a review of the main traditional active obstacle avoidance techniques. In this paper, different artificial intelligence algorithms are reviewed and analyzed. As a result of the analysis and discussion in this paper, some limitations in this field are identified. The measurement of plant sap flow has long been a traditional method for quantifying transpiration. However, conventional direct measurement methods are often costly and complex, thereby limiting the widespread application of tree sap flow monitoring techniques. The concept of a Virtual Measurement Instrument (VMI) has emerged in response to this challenge by combining simple instruments with Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms to indirectly assess specific measurement objects. This study proposes a tree sap flow estimation method based on environmental factors and AI algorithms. Through the acquisition of environmental factor data and the integration of AI algorithms, we successfully achieved indirect measurement of tree sap flow. Accounting for the time lag response of the flow to environmental factors, we constructed the Magnolia denudata sap flow estimation model using the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Random Forest (RF), Backpropagation Neural Network (BPNN), and Long Short-Term Memory network (LSTM) algorithms. The research results showed that the LSTM model demonstrated greater reliability in predicting sap flow velocity, with R2 of 0.957, MAE of 0.189, MSE of 0.059, and RMSE of 0.243. The validation of the target tree yielded an R2 of 0.821 and an error rate of only 4.89% when applying the model. The field of image analysis with artificial intelligence has grown exponentially thanks to the development of neural networks. One of its most promising areas is medical diagnosis through lung X-rays, which are crucial for diseases like pneumonia, which can be mistaken for other conditions. Despite medical expertise, precise diagnosis is challenging, and this is where well-trained algorithms can assist. However, working with medical images presents challenges, especially when datasets are limited and unbalanced. Strategies to balance these classes have been explored, but understanding their local impact and how they affect model evaluation is still lacking. This work aims to analyze how a class imbalance in a dataset can significantly influence the informativeness of metrics used to evaluate predictions. It demonstrates that class separation in a dataset impacts trained models and is a strategy deserving more attention in future research. To achieve these goals, classification models using artificial and deep neural networks implemented in the R environment are developed. These models are trained using a set of publicly available images related to lung pathologies. All results are validated using metrics obtained from the confusion matrix to verify the impact of data imbalance on the performance of medical diagnostic models. The results raise questions about the procedures used to group classes in many studies, aiming to achieve class balance in imbalanced data and open new avenues for future research to investigate the impact of class separation in datasets with clinical pathologies.

This paper presents a novel approach to estimating short-term production of wind farms, which are made up of numerous turbine generators. It harnesses the power of big data through a blend of data-driven and model-based methods. Specifically, it combines an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) for immediate future predictions of wind turbine power output with a stochastic model for dependability, using Hybrid Reliability Block Diagrams. A thorough state-of-the-art review has been conducted in order to demonstrate the applicability of an ANN for non-linear stochastic problems of energy or power forecast estimation. The study leverages an innovative cluster analysis to group wind turbines and reduce the computational effort of the ANN, with a dependability model that improves the accuracy of the data-driven output estimation. Therefore, the main novelty is the employment of a hybrid model that combines an ANN with a dependability stochastic model that accounts for the realistic operational scenarios of wind turbines, including their susceptibility to random shutdowns This approach marks a significant advancement in the field, introducing a methodology which can aid the design and the power production forecast. The research has been applied to a case study of a 24 MW wind farm located in the south of Italy, characterized by 28 turbines. The findings demonstrate that the integrated model significantly enhances short-term wind-energy production estimation, achieving a 480% improvement in accuracy over the solo-clustering approach.

New energy power generation has strong randomness and volatility. Especially in the case of a high proportion of NE (network security) power generation, its sudden random power generation in a short period of time will seriously affect the stable operation of the power grid. Therefore, this paper proposes BP neural network algorithm to study the distributed NE grid-connected cooperative operation control technology. First of all, this paper studies the artificial intelligence algorithm in detail and applies it to the coordinated operation control of distributed NE grid-connected; then, based on the status quo of renewable energy PG (power generation), this paper establishes a suitable wind speed time series model, and thus proposes an optimization model based on a rolling scheduling optimization algorithm. The experimental results show that the average running time of the rolling scheduling optimization algorithm is maintained at about 0.2 s, which can effectively realize online operation. In addition, through rolling adjustment, the error between the total output curve of the unit and the actual total output curve of the unit can be significantly reduced. The research shows that the rolling scheduling optimization algorithm has a good optimization effect, can promote the coordinated development of wind farms and power systems, and increase the capacity of power systems.

This study reported the condition optimization for chlorophyll a (Chl a) from the microalga Isochrysis galbana. The key parameters affecting the Chl a content of I. galbana were determined by a single-factor optimization experiment. Then the individual and interaction of three factors, including salinity, pH and nitrogen concentration, was optimized by using the method of Box–Benhnken Design. The highest Chl a content (0.51 mg/L) was obtained under the optimum conditions of salinity 30‰ and nitrogen concentration of 72.1 mg/L at pH 8.0. The estimation models of Chl a content based on the response surfaces method (RSM) and three different artificial intelligence models of artificial neural network (ANN), support vector machine (SVM) and radial basis function neural network (RBFNN), were established, respectively. The fitting model was evaluated by using statistical analysis parameters. The high accuracy of prediction was achieved on the ANN, SVM and RBFNN models with correlation coefficients (R2) of 0.9113, 0.9127, and 0.9185, respectively. The performance of these artificial intelligence models depicted better prediction capability than the RSM model for anticipating all the responses. Further experimental results suggested that the proposed SVM and RBFNN model are efficient techniques for accurately fitting the Chl a content of I. galbana and will be helpful in validating future experimental work on the Chl a content by computational intelligence approach. The growing global population and accompanying increase in food demand has put pressure on agriculture to produce higher yields in the face of numerous challenges, including plant diseases. Tomato is a widely cultivated and essential food crop that is particularly susceptible to disease, resulting in significant economic losses and hindrances to food security. Recently, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a promising tool for detecting and classifying tomato leaf diseases with exceptional accuracy and efficiency, empowering farmers to take proactive measures to prevent crop damage and production loss. AI algorithms are capable of processing vast amounts of data objectively and without human bias, making them a potent tool for detecting even subtle variations in plant diseases that traditional techniques might miss. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the most recent advancements in tomato leaf disease classification using Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) techniques, with an emphasis on how these approaches can enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of disease classification. Several ML and DL models, including convolutional neural networks (CNN), are evaluated for tomato leaf disease classification. This review paper highlights the various features and techniques used in data acquisition as well as evaluation metrics employed to assess the performance of these models. Moreover, this paper emphasizes how AI techniques can address the limitations of traditional techniques in tomato leaf disease classification, leading to improved crop yields and more efficient management techniques, ultimately contributing to global food security. This review paper concludes by outlining the limitations of recent research and proposing new research directions in the field of AI-assisted tomato leaf disease classification. These insights will be of significant value to researchers and professionals interested in utilizing ML and DL techniques for tomato leaf disease classification and ultimately contribute to sustainable food production (SDG-3). In RSSI-based indoor visible light positioning systems, when only RSSI is used for trilateral positioning, the receiver height needs to be known to calculate distance. Meanwhile, the positioning accuracy is greatly affected by multi-path effect interference, with the influence of the multi-path effect varying across different areas of the room. If only one single processing is used for positioning, the positioning error in the edge area will increase sharply. In order to address these problems, this paper proposes a new positioning scheme, which uses artificial intelligence algorithms for point classification. Firstly, height estimation is performed according to the received power data structure from different LEDs, which effectively extends the traditional RSSI trilateral positioning from 2D to 3D. The location points in the room are then divided into three categories: ordinary points, edge points and blind points, and corresponding models are used to process different types of points, respectively, to reduce the influence of the multi-path effect. Next, processed received power data are used in the trilateral positioning method for calculating the location point coordinates, and to reduce the room edge corner positioning error, so as to reduce the indoor average positioning error. Finally, a complete system is built in an experimental simulation to verify the effectiveness of the proposed schemes, which are shown to achieve centimeter-level positioning accuracy. Due to the limitations of spatial quantification methods, the spatio-temporal patterns of grassland utilization intensity (GUI) in the Selinco watershed (SLCW), the core region of ecological security on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, is unclear under multiple utilization modes. This paper quantified GUI by constructing the association between the potential and actual Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) of grasslands in terms of interannual variability. To obtain an accurate spatio-temporal dataset of potential EVI, the following two components were considered on. Firstly, the temporal lag effects of each raw climate factor were investigated to determine the optimal climate variables affecting vegetation productivity. Secondly, four machine learning (ML) algorithms, including an artificial neural network, random forest, support vector machine, and gradient boosting regression tree combined with the Bayesian model average, were used to construct grassland potential EVI models involving EVI, grassland type, and environmental factors (topography, soil, raw climate, and bioclimatic). Meanwhile, to maximize the performance of ML models, variable selection, variable transformation, and hyperparameter optimization were systematically implemented, where the hyperparameter optimization algorithms employ the grid search algorithm, Bayesian optimization, genetic algorithm, and particle swarm optimization. Then, the spatio-temporal dataset of GUI in the SLCW from 2001 to 2019 was established by using the above quantification method based on multisource remote sensing and artificial intelligence algorithms. The analysis of spatio-temporal variation in GUI showed that the implementation of ecological restoration projects leads to a significant and rapid decline in the overall GUI of the SLCW after 2010 (declining by 4.8%), which is more obvious in the non-nature reserve (declining by 9.3%). In the Qiangtang Nature Reserve within the SLCW, although the GUI shows a declining trend after 2010 because of the implementation of ecological restoration projects, it shows an insignificant increase from 2001 to 2019 due to the recovery increase of wildlife populations in recent decades. Besides, by exploring the effects of elevation and slope on the GUI, it is found that grasslands on higher slopes at lower elevations are at a greater risk of degradation due to more intensive grassland utilization.

Considering the continuous increase in production costs and resource optimization, more than a strategic objective has become imperative in the copper mining industry. In the search to improve the efficiency in the use of resources, the present work develops models of a semi-autogenous grinding (SAG) mill using statistical analysis and machine learning (ML) techniques (regression, decision trees, and artificial neural networks). The hypotheses studied aim to improve the process's productive indicators, such as production and energy consumption. The simulation of the digital model captures an increase in production of 4.42% as a function of mineral fragmentation, while there is potential to increase production by decreasing the mill rotational speed, which has a decrease in energy consumption of 7.62% for all linear age configurations. Considering the performance of machine learning in the adjustment of complex models such as SAG grinding, the application of these tools in the mineral processing industry has the potential to increase the efficiency of these processes, either by improving production indicators or by saving energy consumption. Finally, the incorporation of these techniques in the aggregate management of processes such as the Mine to Mill paradigm, or the development of models that consider the uncertainty of the explanatory variables, could further increase the performance of productive indicators at the industrial scale. Real-time voltage stability assessment, via conventional methods, is a difficult task due to the required large amount of information, high execution times and computational cost. Based on these limitations, this technical work proposes a method for the estimation of the voltage stability margin through the application of artificial intelligence algorithms. For this purpose, several operation scenarios are first generated via Monte Carlo simulations, considering the load variability and the n-1 security criterion. Afterwards, the voltage stability margin of PV curves is determined for each scenario to obtain a database. This information allows structuring a data matrix for training an artificial neural network and a support vector machine, in its regression version, to predict the voltage stability margin, capable of being used in real time. The performance of the prediction tools is evaluated through the mean square error and the coefficient of determination. The proposed methodology is applied to the IEEE 14 bus test system, showing so promising results.

With the improvement of people's material living standards, more and more people start to pay attention to health issues. This paper takes the health field as the main research object, and discusses the current development and status quo of the health field. Through literature review, it is found that the current health field mainly focuses on the single monitoring of a certain organ or body function, and there are limitations in systematic health monitoring research, and most of the research stays at the stage of human body monitoring. Therefore, this paper intends to design a sports health monitoring and management system based on artificial intelligence. The system is mainly divided into a body temperature monitoring module, a blood pressure monitoring module and an exercise monitoring module, through which the user's health data is monitored. In order to ensure the practicability of the system, this paper selects three common life states in daily life for experimental testing, namely exercise state, rest state and sick state. The experimental test results show that each monitoring module can operate correctly and normally under three different states. The lowest temperature was 36.5° and the highest temperature was 37.1° under the exercise state. The lowest blood pressure is 70 in the resting state, and the highest blood pressure is 80. In the sick state, the maximum value of motor threshold is 0.2, the minimum value is 0.1, and the threshold difference is 0.1. Each module reads and backs up relevant data, and sends it to the platform for intelligent analysis. The platform will analyze and compare the data of different modules at the same time, judge the health status of the user at that time, choose whether to issue a health alert for the user, and finally complete the entire system process of the health monitoring management system. This proves that the sports health monitoring management system based on artificial intelligence algorithm designed in this paper is effective and feasible.

Recent literature shows that adopting an accounting information system (AIS) can lead to better decision-making, planning, efficiency and on-time management control, and organisational functionality. However, the impact of AIS implementation on role creation in the organisation is unclear. With the digital transformation of AIS and daily advances in machine learning and other innovative technologies, it is also unclear how these changes interact with human roles in organisations and which AIS components are considered essential. This paper addresses the above issues by applying the actor-network theory to examine the impact of deep machine learning modules in predicting the human actor roles in accounting information systems in organisations. We targeted 120 human actors and examined the influence of deep machine learning modules in predicting 11 personnel and professional features of human actors, based on multivariate statistical analysis. Our findings show that two human factors (familiarity with accounting information and time spent on becoming familiar with it) are the most influential elements that can predict the human actor roles in accounting information systems in organisations. So, human and non-human actors are both essential parts of an integrated AIS that must be considered. The current literature has focused on the AIS structure with less on the interaction between human and non-human actors. One of the main contributions of this study is providing evidence that AIS heavily relies on its human and non-human actors to form a coherent and united AIS network to promote AIS management strategies. The practical implication of the results is that investing in either technology or human resources alone is not enough to achieve the best productivity and performance in organisations. A consistent direction in which financial risk and bankruptcy analysis models were developed was the inclusion of artificial intelligence algorithms in the methodology, they are being used in most of the cases to achieve some classifications. The artificial intelligence (machine learning) algorithms widely used for the analysis of financial or bankruptcy risks, presented in the paper, are: KNN (K-Nearest Neighbor) algorithm; Support Vector Machine (SVM); Random Forest; Neural networks (ANN - Artificial Neural Networks). Using these algorithms, companies can be classified into different categories, based on some variables, and the final result is to obtain a certain probability of bankruptcy or insolvency for that company. Obviously, there are limitations of the models and problems that can arise from their estimation, among the most well-known being overfitting (the risk of learning the model to perform very well only for the data series being used on). In recent years, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) factors have played a very important role.
