Abstract

The article presents a study which showed that the use of Brilliant Blue FCF organic compound as diet supplement can colour ingestion and excretion in aphid Acyrthosiphon pisum and other species. Topics covered include diets and feeding of aphid species, toxicity tests on standard and improved diet, and tests conducted on other species. A table showing the effects of the colourants on Acyrthosiphon pisum is also presented.
