Aim: The present study was performed to evaluate effect of collagen cone blended with gentamicin and pure collagen cone in alveolar ridge preservation following extraction of tooth with chronic infection. Primary objective: Histological and histomorphometric evaluation of grafted bone. Secondary objective: Evaluation of changes in alveolar ridge dimensions radiographically and evaluation of primary implant stability Subjects and Methods: Group (1): Ten extraction sockets where alveolar ridge preservation(ARP) was performed using collagen cone blended with gentamicin. Group (2): Ten extraction sockets where ARP was performed using pure collagen cone. Group (3): Ten extraction sockets where ARP was performed using xenograft and collagen membrane. Core biopsy performed during implant placement. Radiographic changes in buccolingual ridge width and alveolar crest were measured. Primary implant stability was evaluated. Results: Significant difference in amount of new bone trabeculae between groups. Regarding radiographic buccolingual width ,significant reduction in 3 groups after 5 months. Regarding percent changes of width, collagen/gentamicin was -27,85±4,64 , collagen was -42,50±5,29 and xenograft was -15,26±4,28, the difference between groups was significant. Regarding intragroup radiographic ridge height changes significant reduction was noted in 3 groups after 5 months. Regarding percent decrease in radiographic height, collagen was (-27.38±4,92), xenograft was (-9.61±1,74) and collagen/gentamicin was (-14,66±1,71). Difference between groups was significant. Non significant difference between collagen/gentamicin and xenograft implant stability was noticed. Conclusion: Parasorb® cone genta showed more newly formed bone. Xenograft have best results regarding volumetric changes but decreased quality of newly formed bone compared with collagen/gentamicin .

In this research, The Harris corner detector algorithm is improved, to work with multi resolution images, the technique has also been working with poor lighting condition by using histogram equalization technique. The work we have done addresses the issue of robustly detection of feature points, detected multiple of local features are characterized by the intensity changes in both horizontal and vertical direction which is called corner features. The goal of this work is to detect the corner of an object through the Harris corner detector with multiple scale of the same image. The scale invariant property applied to the Harris algorithm for improving the corner detection performance in different resolution of the same image with the same interest point. The detected points represented by two independent variables (x, y) in a matrix (x, y) and the dependent variable f are called intensity of interest points. Through these independent variable, we get the displacement and velocity of object by subtracting independent variable f(x,y) at current frame from the previous location f ̀((x,) ̀(y,) ̀) of another frame. For further work, multiple of moving object environment have been taken consideration for developing algorithms.

In image processing, edge detection concerns with the localization of discontinuity of the gray scale images, accurately detecting continuous edges is difficult in noisy images. Usually for accurate edge detection requires smoothing and differentiation, to localize edge pixels in intensity images. Smoothing images with median filter instead of Gaussian filter has more edge preserving tendency. In this proposed method, filtered images with non- linear filter, which is convolved with two new developed 3x3 operators for detecting gradient magnitude of images. The resulted thick binary edges were filter with two new developed structure matrices for enhancement in binary edges. The new algorithm is examined and compared with the traditional edge detectors. The comparison is based on two type of distributed noises Gaussian and salt and pepper. The results comparison suggests that the new algorithm detect edges more accurate thinner and smoother than the edges detected by traditional edge detector.

Suicide is an important health hazard worldwide. It is no longer a criminal offense in any developed country but continues to be so in many developing countries. We retrospectively analyzed the autopsy records of the Institute of Forensic Medicine during the five-year period between 2008 and 2012 to document the characteristics of fatalities resulting from suicide in Minofiya, Gharbiya and Kafr Elshekh governorates. In this study 55 suicidal cases (26 male, 29 female). Most of cases were between 20 and 50 years. Ingestion of insecticides (70.8%) was the most common pattern of suicidal method used among the cases followed by chemical poisoning (16.36%), hanging (9.9%), jumping from height (1.8%), and firearm (1.8%). A mild seasonal variation was found, however, the rate of suicidal death was influenced by warm temperatures.

A key feature of Parkinson's disease is the dopaminergic neuronal cell loss in the substantia nigra pars compacta. Many triggering pathways have been incriminated in the pathogenesis of this disease including inflammation, oxidative stress, excitotoxicity and apoptosis. Thyroid hormone is an essential agent for the growth and maturation of neurons; moreover, it has variable mechanisms for neuroprotection. So, we tested the efficacy of l -thyroxin as a neuroprotectant in rotenone model of Parkinson's disease in rats. Thirty Sprague Dawley rats aged 3 months were divided into 3 equal groups. The first received daily intraperitoneal injections of 0.5% carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) 3 mL/Kg. The second group received rotenone suspended in 0.5% CMC intraperitoneally at a dose of 3 mg/kg, daily. The third group received the same rotenone regimen subcutaneous l -thyroxine at a dose of 7.5 μg daily. All animals were evaluated regarding locomotor disturbance through blinded investigator who monitored akinesia, catalepsy, tremors and performance in open field test. After 35 days the animals were sacrificed and their brains were immunostained against anti-tyrosine hydroxylase and iba-1. Photomicrographs for coronal sections of the substantia nigra and striatum were taken and analyzed using image J software to evaluate cell count in SNpc and striatal fibers density and number of microglia in the nigrostriatal system. The results were then analyzed statistically. Results showed selective protective effects of thyroxin against rotenone induced neurotoxicity in striatum, however, failed to exert similar protection on SN. Moreover, microglial elevated number in nigrostriatal system that was induced by rotenone injections was diminished selectively in striatum only in the l -thyroxin treated group. One of the possible mechanisms deduced from this work was the selective regulation of microglia in striatal tissues. Thus, this study provides an insight into thyroxin neuroprotection warranting further investigation as therapeutic option for Parkinson's disease patients.
