Public interest activities of older adults The thesis focuses on the activities of older adults of the third age, especially on activities whose direct impacts go beyond the boundaries of family and personal interests and bring public benefit, i.e. benefit to municipalities, communities of interest or the whole society. How could society naturally use the potential represented by their knowledge, experience and skills? The thesis pursued three objectives: to theoretically and empirically investigate ordinary and public interest activities of the elderly as a contemporary social phenomenon, to identify motives, external factors and barriers to the realization of activities, and to propose an individual index of active old age. A concept of personal coping strategies of older adults was introduced and the so-called ideal, pure type of offensive, proactive strategy was proposed. The gerontological theories of activity, disengagement, and continuity, supported by several universal psychological theories, were discussed and interpretively linked to the issue of needs. Concepts such as public interest or activity, their classification, and operational definitions of diverse determinants and factors that influence the activities and attitudes of older adults were clarified. The empirical part of the work had an...

The diploma thesis deals with the contact points of the POSEZ project and their activities. The aim of this work was to map the services provided by individual POSEZ contact points. The main research question was: What are the specifics of the provided services POSEZ in selected contact points. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the issue of aging, the needs of seniors, active life. It also describes the senior issues and their anchoring in the Czech Republic. For better orientation in the topic, the POSEZ project is also presented here. In the practical part, four partial research questions were set. Qualitative research was chosen, the method of questioning and the technique of semi-structured interview were used. The research group consisted of four managers of selected POSEZ contact points. Sub-questions were set for individual partial research questions. In order to answer the research questions, the obtained data were processed by the bunch method and subsequently interpreted according to individual partial research questions. The research mapped the specifics of the services provided by individual selected POSEZ contact points. These specifics concerned the area of operation of contact points, basic and above-standard project activities and the specifics of further development. Thanks to the project of the Central Bohemian Region called POSEZ, in individual cities it was possible to help seniors from households to spend their free time actively, get a place where they can come for advice and try a number of possible activities such as education, but also activation activities or various types of counseling activities. Each of these places is very unique, as its activities and choice of activities depend on many different factors in the localities, such as the needs of seniors in individual cities or the availability of services for seniors in these localities, premises, personnel and operational options and more. Some contact points were created depending on another functioning service, others contact points are created independently, under the auspices of, for example, social services or other organizations dealing with senior issues. The results of this diploma thesis will serve the latest and future contact points. The work will also serve as a good material for establishing a new POSEZ contact point, but also as an inspiring template for the creation of other services in all contact points. Furthermore, the thesis can serve as feedback for the author of the project and individual contact points, but can also provide valuable information to students and people dealing with this topic.

The theoretical part of my bachelor thesis deals with general terms related to social work, social worker, confidentiality or quality standards of social services. Here I also analyse the field which is crucial for my thesis and that is the elderly people, their activities, quality of life and how they spend their leisure time. In the practical part of my bachelor thesis I describe the activities for the elderly in a home for the elderly, namely in the G centrum Tábor. The aim of my thesis is to find out what activities are offered to the elderly and to identify the factors that influence the participation in the activation programmes. In my research I try to answer several questions, such as whether particular elderly people take part in the activities, which activities are most asked for by them or what are the main factors that influence the participation in such activities. I reached my goals thanks to a quality research. I acquired the data through a semi-structured interview and then I divided the information into codes and categories. In the research group there were six clients of the G centrum Tábor. I carried out the research in June 2020. I think that my bachelor's thesis can serve as feedback to employees and management of the G Centrum Tábor from their clients.

- Abstract
This paper intends to develop the understanding of the various factors that contributes to university knowledge transfers and spinoff activities. Using data from the HESA-BCI survey and the Structural Equation Model (SEM) we analysed the various determinants that influence spin off activities of universities in the United Kingdom. The empirical results demonstrate that (1) incentive support provided to academics influences their spin off activities positively; (2) incubation support in the form of science parks, entrepreneurial support, venture capital has a positive influence on universities spin off activities; (3) the governance of universities’ spin off activities doesn’t necessary contribute to academic spin off activities. Practical implications are also offered to universities management, academics and industries on best strategies to support their spin off activities., Tento příspěvek má za cíl analyzovat vybrané faktory, které přispívají k transferu znalostí z univerzit a ovlivňují spin-off aktivity.

I achieve necessary information with qualitative interviewing by structured dialogues where open questions were. Staffers who were interviewed are from department in České Budějovice. Ten people provided the interview eight of them are job advisers, one is on managerial post and two are from material need department. Interviews were under way from February 2018 to March 2018. The results of survey are that employees concur with opinion that changes and adjustments of legislation is not right and administration, which is related to it, is rather difficulty than boon. The employees would like to embrace more cooperation with others institutions. Changes and adjustments are perceived as administrative strain. Another observation is that people who are registered as unemployed are more and more aggressive. We can see that clients are not co-operative and they misuse the system for own profit. They make use of benefits or evade health insurance but they do not look for job. Different problem is there are not adequate room. Many people confided to me that they mind open space, where income support and material need department are together. I can say that job centre want to change this situation and they plan separate this premises.

As a matter of fact, and judging solely by their definition, these platforms could might as well have a place in the education process. Their purpose in the classroom should focus on sharing the knowledge among students, engaging and motivating them to work into a more pleasant environment than the one currently in place, which tends to offer more traditional ways of education. Bringing the student and the teacher together, when it comes to having a common goal in learning, strengthens the bond that is formed between them, while at the same time working on making the digital leap. This last aspect is very important, because in the modern world that we live into, knowledge has become quite vast and the ways of getting access to it, rather complex. To achieve that, certain features that the Social Media have in their disposal, need to be incorporated having the pedagogical approaches and science in mind, instead of the technocratic ideals that these platforms are designed to promote. This study aims to examine whether the Social Media have a place in the process of education, as well as pinpoint several of the negative consequences the amount of time spent on them could evoke. Additionally, the various security issues that usually affect these platforms are brought up and a ruleset is formed, under which the integrity of the students’ personal information would be secured. Finally, an attempt is made to propose a novel digital learning environment, one that takes advantage of certain of the features that the current generation of Social Media has to offer and aspires to maintain a healthy establishment among its members.

The aim of my bachelor thesis was to prepare, realize and evaluate joint activities of children and seniors, where group of seniors would cooperate with group of elementary school children in intergeneration cooperation. Throughout these activities comes activation of clients on one side and developing social competences and gaining new knowledge skills and experiences within lower school aged kids on the other side. By creating an appropriate evaluation of joint activities, it was concluded how the groups worked and what was the benefit of their meetings. I have created specific program which suits both targeted groups, based on studying professional literature and my own experiences and knowledge. Common activities were divided into four events, each for 2 hours in the morning, and realized in the home for seniors Máj. This program was subsequently evaluated by a self-evaluation technique, by a reflection of joint program and by feedback from programme participants using surveys. Evaluating our joint activities, I have found out, that our goal was fulfilled and its realisation made sense. This bachelor thesis can serve not only professionals in pedagogical facilities and social services, but can also answer some questions for students or those interested in these problematics. It is important, that issue of intergeneration cooperation gets to wider public and that facilities could participate on these activities and seek for cooperation between children and seniors in the future, because I see importance and sense in these activities which are needed to support.

Bachelor´s thesis discusses the topic of "Leisure activities for ADHD children". The theoretical part of my thesis explains the concept of ADHD. It is focused on general characteristics of ADHD, its causes, types, behaviour manifestations, diagnostics of the ADHD syndrome and possible treatment. It also mentions some other possible associated diseases. Further, it focuses on the concept of leisure time. It provides several definitions of leisure time. It also explains the history and leisure education. Consequently, it discusses institutions specialised in leisure activities and specific organisations that offer leisure activities. Further, it discusses in more detail organisations that offer leisure activities. It describes their structure and diversity of choices. It presents the best known organisations that a child may join. Fox example, Junák, Sokol, Pionýr or Dům dětí a mládeže (House of Children and Youth). The practical part was aimed to identify leisure activities and other specific leisure aspects of ADHD children and compare them with non-ADHD children. The survey was carried out in selected primary schools in the South Bohemia Region. Respondents were aged between 6 and 15 years which equals to 1st to 9st grade of primary school. Information was obtained from a questionnaire structured by myself which contained 40 questions. Respondents included a total of 25 ADHD children and 25 non-ADHD children. Questions were divided into five parts: general information about the respondent, leisure activities of the respondent and their siblings, other ways of spending leisure time, family and home duties. The results show which activities are most often pursued by children, their satisfaction and family participation in joint activities. Selected activities are varied in both groups of children, and for the most part they are similar to one another. Therefore, ADHD children are not limited whatsoever by their attention deficit or hyperactivity disorder. ADHD children are more active in some activities and on the other hand, more passive in some other activities that non-ADHD children. Such comparison can be made between groups of ADHD children and non-ADHD children for more comprehensive understanding. The knowledge acquired may inspire parents and children who are looking for an institution that offers leisure activities.
