Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is characterized by deficits in social interactions and communication, and restricted and stereotypic behaviors. A growing body of evidence has identified metabolic pathways and glutamatergic neurotransmission affecting oxidative stress levels as potential targets of drug development in autism spectrum disorders. N-acetylcysteine (NAC) is an antioxidant that modulate glutamate and reduce oxidative stress, both associated with the pathophysiology of ASD. N-acetylcysteine has been identified as a potential treatment agent for irritability and self-injurious behaviors in autism. In this case report, we report six cases of autism with severe symptoms of irritability and aggression, two of them responded well to N-acetylcysteine treatment, two of them responded partially and while two did not. Bullying, is a reality that has not remained indifferent to the advancement of ICT. According to Garaigordobil and Oñederra (2010), the effects of cyberbullying can be as negative or worse than bullying, and the protagonists are, in most cases, schoolmates (Aftab, 2010). Cyberbullying is a phenomenon that involves the harassment of a child towards another in the form of insults, threats or extortion through the use of e-mails, messages or images sent through social networks, mobile, instant messages, etc. The objective of this research is to review publications in journals (Spanish language) about Cyberbullying from the years 2010 to 2016. A search of articles in Spanish has been carried out within Dialnet and Google Scholar. We have analyzed the articles with a table of frequencies based on the years of publication and the most relevant categories founded: differences between Bullying and Cyberbullying, prevalence of Cyberbullying (sex and age), risk factors and prevention. The results show a great dispersion, highlighting the year 2010 as the one with the most articles published and the category «Prevalence» as the most usual. In the case of new lines of research, it can be used as a basis for knowing and deepening the state of the question within the Spanish-speaking context at different educational levels. Schizophrenia is one of the most invalidating mental disorders due to its onset at an early age, the long term evolution, and the negative impact on the social, professional and relational life. The correlation between schizophrenia and violence is very complex and only partially predicted by symptomatology, an important role being played by family and sodalfactors. This study aimed to identify the clinical and socio-demographic factors associated to the aggressive behaviour of the schizophrenic patients. The study group included 183 patients admitted in the Clinical Hospital of Psychiatry "Socola" between 01.06.2013-30.12.2013. The main result of our study was the positive association between schizophrenia and aggressiveness. Also, correlations were found between the patients' sodo-demographic characteristics and violence, and the association of the aggressive behaviour with substance abuse like psych stimulants and other somatic diseases. Knowing the risk factors for aggression is likely to support effective methods for risk reduction of marginalization and stigmatization of the patients with schizophrenia, facilitating their integration into the community and reducing the economic, social and health burden created by this disease. The researches made in psychotherapy field have proved the importance of child's relathionship with his group affiliation and with his family, as a prereqiusite for balanced development of child's personality and his social optimal integration. Based on this researches, we have found that the best predictor for a harmonic child's development is given by the relationship seted between child and his family members and the effective communication within family. For the investigation we aimed to specifically evaluate how the child relates to other family members using structured psychological interviw and observation, we have continued the investigation of the personality using clinical evaluation instruments and for the personality's restructuring we used individual and family psychotherapy. Our desire was not only to determine and to investigate the causes of the disorder but also to implement psychological activities in order to improve child behaviour. We have considered that the relathionship that they have and effective communication can lead to personality rebalancing and to a good intergration both in the family and in the psycho-social area (school). Given the limited research focused on the relationship between aggression and impulsivity in adolescents, and the significant effects of this relationship highlighted in the studies on this topic, this paper analyzes impulsivity in different groups of aggressive adolescents. Two self-report questionnaires, the Questionnaire of Reactive and Proactive Aggression and the Barratt Impulsiveness Scale were applied in a sample of 400 adolescents of the Community of Madrid, between 12 and 18 years of age. The results showed that reactive, proactive and mixed aggressive adolescents reported higher overall impulsivity than non-aggressive ones. Particularly, all aggressive groups showed higher scores of motor impulsivity than non- aggressive, whereas proactive aggressive adolescents showed higher levels of non-planner impulsivity. There were no differences according to age and sex of the participants. These results are discussed pointing out the relevance of impulsivity in the different types of aggression analyzed, in particular according to prevention and intervention with this risk population. - Abstract
Impulsive and aggressive behaviour is often seen among psychiatric patients with schizophrenia, dementia, or mental retardation. The literature on the effect of clozapine on such behaviour states that treatment with clozapine in cases of treatment-resistant schizophrenia and mental retardation is beneficial, as the aggressive and impulsive behaviour becomes markedly less. Only one investigation dealing with the effect of clozapine on aggressive behaviour in demented patients has been carried out. In that study a significant reduction in the behaviour is reported; however, only seven patients were involved. Treatment with clozapine should be considered for aggressive patients with treatment-resistant schizophrenia or a mental retardation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Vidjet ćemo kako se kroz pokušaj razvoja i nadgradnje sigurnosni sustav još dublje ukorijenio u nedemokratske vode i postao de facto stranačka policija tadašnjeg HDZ-a. Oba lica ću detaljno obraditi i vidjeti koliko je u konačnici važna bila uloga obavještajne zajednice tijekom Domovinskog rata., This essay is focused on formation, development and the role of intelligence agencies during the Homeland war. The goal is to ascertain in what way did the sociopolitical processes in Europe, as well as Yugoslavia, impact the founding of Croatia and its intelligence and counter-intelligence system. It is vital to get into the heart of intelligence services of Yugoslavia to see how it's methodology and modus operandi impacted the nature of intelligence services in democratic and sovereign Croatia. Development of intelligence apparatus, during the lower intensity warfare on the Croatian soil, didn't went as planned. The plan was to introduce structural changes in intelligence sector which, after badly thought out development, became even more rooted in undemocratic practices and became de facto police for the HDZ, political faction in charge during the Homeland war. The role intelligence community had during the war was in many ways positive, and negative in other. The positive side is that it waged war against the information agression against the enemies intelligence services, as well as tactical field work in supplying the informations to the heads of Croatian military services about the enemies position, their strength and numbers. The other side of the coin is the gross misuse of power in intelligence community which resulted in numerous violations of democratic principles on which Croatia was founded.

Evolutionary approaches to sex differences in physical aggression weigh the potential benefits of aggression against the likely costs to inclusive fitness, with some authors focusing on the damage physical injury would do to female inclusive fitness, and others on the extent to which success in physical competition may particularly enhance male fitness. This study tested a hypothesis derived from these approaches: that parents would be less physically aggressive than non-parents because of the damage any physical injury would do to their inclusive fitness. Analysis was carried out using the United States federal sentencing records for 1994–1999 (22,344 individuals). The proportion of theft convictions which were violent (robbery; vs. larceny) was significantly greater for men than women (odds ratio 7.7). As predicted, non-parents were significantly more likely to be violent than parents (odds ratio 1.6). Parenthood had a similar effect on relative rates of violence in men and women, although the baseline was considerably higher for men. There was also a significant effect in men of marital status, which interacted with parental status such that parenthood was only associated with a reduction in rates of violence in males recorded as partnered. The results are interpreted in terms of both evolutionary theory and recent work on the hormonal impacts of marriage and parenthood. Postprint

Background Gamma-aminobutyric acid-A (GABA-A) receptors, the major inhibitory neurotransmitter receptors in the brain are implicated in the acute and chronic effects of alcohol, including tolerance, dependence and withdrawal. Various polymorphisms in the gene encoding the GABA-A receptor alpha2 subunit (GABRA2) have been associated with alcoholism and with antisocial behavior in different populations of European ancestry. As early onset of alcoholism often reflects greater severity, including a higher risk for recurrence, comorbid antisocial personality disorder and conduct disorder, Cloninger’s classification distinguishes type II alcoholism with an early onset, elevated levels of antisocial behavior and delinquency, from the type I alcoholism with a late onset, neurotic symptoms and minimal criminality. Materials and methods Genotyping of GABRA2 polymorphisms (rs567926, rs279858 and rs9291283) was performed in samples of 355 alcoholic patients of Croatian origin (280 males and 75 females) using TaqMan Real-Time allelic discrimination technique after extraction of DNA from the whole blood. The results of allelic and haplotypic analysis were compared between alcohol-dependent subjects with a combination of early onset of alcohol abuse and presence of aggressive behavior corresponding to type II alcoholism subgroup, and individuals with the late onset of alcohol abuse and without aggression corresponding to type I alcoholism subgroup, according to Cloninger. Results Cloninger’s Type I and Type II alcohol- dependent patients did not differ significantly in the frequency of the genotypes and alleles for rs567926, rs279858 or rs9291283. However, the G-T- G haplotype was more often present in the alcohol- dependent subjects with early onset of alcohol abuse and aggressive behavior, corresponding to the Cloninger type II alcoholism subgroup (χ2 = 6.102, p = 0.013). Conclusions Our results revealed a haplotypic association between the GABRA2 gene and a more severe form of alcoholism, characterized by the early onset of alcohol abuse and presence of aggressive behavior. These findings support an important role of GABA-A receptors in the susceptibility to alcoholism and highlight them as potential targets for novel therapeutics in the treatment of alcohol dependence.

Straipsnyje analizuojami agresyvaus vaikų globos namų auklėtinių, turinčių specialiųjų poreikių, elgesio pokyčiai, taikant Baltijos gyvenimo meno (BGM) labdaros ir paramos fondo bei Tarptautinės žmogiškųjų vertybių asociacijos bendrame projekte - Neagresijos programoje 8-15 metų vaikams ir jaunuoliams numatytas edukacines veiklas, adaptavus jas dalyvių kognityvinės, emocinės bei psichosocialinės brandos ypatumams. Tyrimo dalyviai - trisdešimt devyni specialiųjų poreikių turintys vaikų globos namų auklėtiniai. [...] Taikant linijinio eksperimento metodą, buvo modeliuojamos ir realizuojamos BGM neagresijos programoje numatytos edukacinės sąveikos, pirminiu ir užbaigimo ištyrimais įvertinami tyrimo dalyvių agresijos intensyvumas bei raiška. Tyrimo pradžioje kelta hipotezė, kad agresyvaus VGN auklėtinių, turinčių specialiųjų poreikių, elgesio intensyvumas BGM neagresijos programoje numatytų edukacinių veiklų poveikyje sumažės, iš dalies pasitvirtino. Tyrimo dalyvių berniukų agresyvumo intensyvumas, kaip ir daugumos agresijos formų raiškos intensyvumas, nežymiai sumažėjo (išskyrus netiesioginę agresiją, staigius pykčio proveržius bei konfliktiškumą). Kiek padaugėjo mergaičių saviagresijos epizodų, kitų agresyvaus elgesio formų raiška nežymiai sumažėjo. Didžiausi agresijos raiškos intensyvumo pokyčiai stebimi aštuonmečių, dvylikamečių, keturiolikmečių bei septyniolikmečių dalyvių, taip pat turinčiųjų normalų bei lengvai sutrikusį intelektą, vertinimuose. The paper analyses the correction of aggressive behaviour in foster home children with special needs through the educational activities designed for 8 to 15 year-old children and youngsters by the Non-Aggression Programme, a joint project of the Baltic Art of Living Charity and Support Fund and the International Association for Human Values, adapted to the characteristics of the participants' cognitive, emotional, and psychosocial maturity. The study participants included thirty-nine foster home children with special needs who voluntarily agreed to take part in the Non-Aggression Programme and the study. The study experts consisted of household social workers who were well familiar with the study participants and respectably capable of objective assessment. A linear experiment method was employed to simulate and implement the educational interactions provided for in the Non-Aggression Programme of the Baltic Art of Living, and to evaluate the intensity and expression of the study participants' aggression through the initial and final testing. The hypothesis put forward at the outset that the intensity of aggressive behaviour in foster home children would decline under the impact of the educational activities designed by the Non-Aggression Programme of the Baltic Art of Living has been confirmed in part. Aggression intensity of the study participants-boys decreased slightly, the same can be said about the expression intensity of most forms of aggression (except for indirect aggression, sudden outbursts of anger, and aptitude for conflicts). A slight increase in the number of girls' self-aggression episodes was observed whereas the expression of other forms of aggressive behaviour slightly decreased. The biggest changes in the intensity of expression of aggression were observed among eight, twelve, fourteen and seventeen year olds, as well as those with normal intellect and slightly confused mental state.

The main object of this study is to reveal the relation between psychological commitment and attitude toward aggression based on data collected from Fenerbahce fans. In this research, aggression variable is investigated in two dimensions: physical and verbal, whereas psychological commitment is only investigated in one dimension. The survey was performed on 795 Fenerbahce fans. The research has shown that there is a relationship between psychological commitment and attitude toward aggression. Additionally, the variables of psychological commitment and attitude toward aggression are tested by demographic variables and the results are explained in findings.

PF was funded by Swiss National Science Foundation and European Research Council project grants (Prilang 283871) to KZ. Signalling plays an important role in facilitating and maintaining affiliative or cooperative interactions in social animals. Social grooming in primates is an example of an interaction that requires coordination between partners but little is known about communicative behaviours facilitating this activity. In this study, we analysed the communication of wild chimpanzees of Budongo Forest, Uganda, as they entered and maintained a naturally occurring cooperative interaction: social grooming. We found that lip-smacking, a distinct multimodal oral gesture produced during grooming, coordinated this activity. Lip-smacking at the beginning of grooming bouts was significantly more often followed by longer and reciprocated bouts than silent grooming initiations. Lip-smacks were more likely to be produced when the risk of termination of the interaction by the recipient was high, for instance when grooming vulnerable body parts. Groomers were also more likely to produce lip-smacks during face-to-face grooming where the visual aspect of the signal could be perceived. Data are consistent with the hypothesis that chimpanzee lip-smacks function to coordinate and prolong social grooming, suggesting that this oral signal is an example of a communicative behaviour facilitating cooperative behaviour in chimpanzees.
