This bachelor thesis deals with ellipsis and its occurrence in administrative and journalistic style. The paper consists of two parts, the theoretical part and the analysis. In the theoretical part, ellipsis will be defined and classified in terms of recoverability type of ellipsis and its position within a construction. Moreover, the attention will be also drawn to ellipted sentence elements and their possible combinations. The analytical part subsequently studies the types and frequency of ellipsis identified within the administrative and journalistic style. The Bachelor Thesis deals with infinitive clauses in the administrative style. The main attention is paid to the identification of the function of the infinitive structures from the syntactic point of view and to the frequency of their use. The theoretical part of the work gives details about the system of non-finite structures, with a preferential treatment to the infinitive clauses. The theoretical part defines the term ellipsis from two different points of view, recoverability of elements and a position within a construction, and comments on ellipted sentence elements concerning their syntactic function. Findings from the theoretical part are used in the practical part. The aim is to carry out a quantitative analysis and compare occurrence of ellipsis in the administrative style and fiction., Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá elipsou a jejím výskytem v administrativním stylu a fikci. Práce je rozdělena na dvě hlavní části, část teoretickou a část praktickou. This bachelor thesis deals with modal verbs expressing deontic necessity in administrative style. The theoretical part defines the term "modality" and states two main kinds of modality. Furthermore, it concentrates on characteristic features and functions of individual modal verbs expressing deontic necessity. In the practical part, the theory is applied to the documents of administrative style in order to state the frequency of occurrence of selected modals as well as to prove or disprove the presumption stated., Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá modálními slovesy vyjadřující deontickou nutnost v administrativním stylu.
